“You think so?” Jimin asks, turning to Jungkook with a smile. There’s so much hopefulness there that Jungkook can’t find it in himself to really be mad.

“Definitely,” he agrees. “He likes you, you should go for it.”

When Jimin drags Jungkook to his morning running club to be his “wingman”, Jungkook doesn’t expect to meet the most attractive man he’s ever seen. It’s just his bad luck that Jimin is totally into the guy.

Jungkook squeezes his eyes closed, letting out a breath through his nose before finally meeting Namjoon’s gaze. “You’d have to, um, pretend to be my boyfriend. You know, like…” he trails off, unsure what to say.

Namjoon smiles kindly. “I can do that, Jungkook-ah,” he insists. “How hard could it be?”

Privately, Jungkook thinks it could be very hard, but he still finds himself nodding, heart lodged in his throat.

Nodding, Yoongi gets to his feet. Namjoon watches, confused, as Yoongi unbuttons his jeans and pulls down the waistband to - oh no.

Yoongi tugs down the waistband of his jeans to reveal his hip, smooth creamy skin, unblemished save for the little black tattoo there. A tattoo Namjoon would know anywhere. A tattoo Namjoon could trace in his sleep.

The little doodle of a cat stares back at him and Namjoon nearly passes out. There’s no mistake. Namjoon knows this tattoo. He saw it the night before, right on the hip of his favorite camboy.

There’s a beat of silence between them where Jimin wishes he could chew his own tongue off, and Namjoon stares at him in surprise. “Of course I can.”

Before Jimin can blink, Namjoon closes the distance between them. “What are you -” Jimin cuts off as Namjoon’s hands close around his waist and hoist him easily into the air.

Jimin’s brain short circuits as his feet leave the ground, eyes widening and locking with Namjoon’s. He can feel himself blushing now, mouth going dry as Namjoon effortlessly holds him aloft.

It was a joke, just a random comment, not even serious. But now… Jimin can’t stop thinking about how Namjoon lifted him so easily, can’t help but imagine what else Namjoon could do with all that muscle.

Dark marks litter his neck and collarbones, memories of hungry lips, desperate teeth. A brand on his skin that may as well spell out MISTAKE.

It’s unhealthy, this thing they’re doing. They broke up for a reason. And yet… in the morning, when they inevitably wake up tangled together again, they’ll awkwardly laugh about how gone they were. They won’t talk about it, won’t address that it keeps happening. Seokjin will leave and Yoongi will take a shower and stare at the wall, forcing the bile back down his throat. Yoongi will happily pretend to be drunk, if it means he gets to keep Seokjin in his bed.

And now, years later, things are easy and comfortable. But when the first of their friends get married, Jimin starts to see things, and Seokjin, in a new light.

Being best man at Jimin’s wedding was supposed to be simple, even if Taehyung was attending alone. When the ceremony pianist catches his eye, Taehyung can’t help but be drawn in. After a few bottles of champagne, what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there.

“Date me,” Taehyung says, leaning forward.

“I don’t want to date you,” Yoongi replies with a laugh. “Definitely not you.”

“Not for real,” Taehyung insists. “Just to get everyone to leave us alone. We’ve already fucked, what else do we need?”

Yoongi thinks there’s probably a lot more that they need, but somehow this sounds almost reasonable.

And maybe Yoongi doesn’t realize how much he might like that until it’s slipping through his fingers.

After taking Jimin’s first kiss in a game of truth or dare, Yoongi finds himself agreeing to help Jimin practice. Maybe things wouldn’t be so difficult, if Jimin wasn’t so cute, or if his lips didn’t taste like peaches, or if he only wanted to practice kissing.
