i have a very specific memory from when i was younger of reading this very long article written by a woman who had breast cancer and needed to have a mastectomy and in the pre appointments with her surgeon she repeatedly told him over and over again that she wanted all the breast tissue to be removed completely, she just wanted to be flat. because she knew surgeons often left small lumps of breast tissue in cause women changed their minds and did want a reconstruction, it was easier if there was some tissue there. she told him this over and over again, she brought friends with her to appointments as witnesses, but when the day of surgery came, i cant remember this specific detail but as she was on the surgical table and about to pass out from the anesthesia, the doctor said something to her that made her know he wasnt going to do what she wanted. and yeah, she woke up not flat with the lumps she had said so many times she didnt want.

and this story really really impacted me i remember i told my mom about it the next day which was especially significant because this was in a period where i was rarely saying anything to her beyond the bare minimum. and like. that article is such a huge reason why the idea of men performing surgery on me is so uncomfortable to me as well as all the reasons from my own negative experiences with male doctors. its just so awful.

my dad read me an aita post about a shitty husband who threw away the coffee machine because he didnt like his wife drinking it and he definitely was the asshole in it of course but then i told my dad by memory two similar posts (the glass jar one and the one where the boyfriend destroyed and dumped all of the girlfriends plants) and his response was “wow. people can really suck” and i had already worked myself up to shaking with anger just remembering the plant one and he said that and i got so much more angrier. the takeaway from those stories isnt that people can be jerks to each other its that men love to destroy things that make the women theyre dating happy. because men hate women. because men are assholes. its so obvious its a sex based issue not a human decency one. i thought my dad would be able to see that.

no i actually hate it so much when people act like medical transitioning is something that absolutely never happens to anyone under the age of 18 and if it does its an incredibly arbitrary process and a really rare thing. thats just not true at all. i started testosterone and hormone blockers when i was 15. i came very close to getting a double mastectomy when i was 16. an ex of mine who is my same age (actually a little bit younger) got a mastectomy very shortly after her 14th birthday. and im sure things are much worse for kids now. in 2016 when i started testosterone it was before informed consent was a widespread thing. a psychiatrist and two therapists wrote letters stating that i should go on testosterone and that it would be a good thing for me. it does happen, but it shouldn’t.

i hate cognitive behavioral therapy so much especially as a treatment for trauma and basically any psychological problem that isnt just caused by “harmful incorrect thoughts.” its easy for a therapist to think my thoughts and behaviors are irrational but they make complete sense to me as an abused woman. even if i were to convince myself through cbt that most men wont hurt me and arent a risk to my safety... thats just trading negative “irrational” thoughts for positive ones. option A is im super anxious and have a hard time existing in the world and option B is i delude myself and am unguarded and am much easier to be taken advantage of and then id just end up with another awful trauma.

im tired of... seeing radfems and radleanings (and gc-ers in general) be rude and mean to tifs for no reason other than that they are trans identified. if i had seen some of the stuff some of you say (both in private [like discord servers] or in your posts here before i detransitioned (and even in the time after my detransition before i fully came to terms with my femaleness), i believe i would have still peaked but it would have taken longer and been harder than it already was. transmen are just as much my sisters in femaleness and the patriarchy as any other woman is.

you know how every “stereotype” of women is just male projection? (women are bad drivers, women are overemotional, etc.) i think that also carries over to misconceptions about what “terfs” believe women are.

those tra posts that say how terfs have this super narrow definition of woman, “if one even grows a single hair on her on her face, shes no longer a woman, terfs believe that butches and other masculine women arent actually women.” that is also male projection. the super misogynistic men that want to be women because they want to be sexualized objects see butch women, women who dont shave, women who dont wear makeup all as Not Women but he then projects and says it is what the terfs believe.
