"You poor dear! Let's clean you up then!"

"Where did you find him, Elaine?"

"Out by my garden, hiding under the bench near the Black-Eyed Susans. He looks so frail!"

You watched as Elaine was holding the small little kitten, an orange tabby that was wrapped in a thin blanket and shaking like a leaf, as she was looking around in the kitchen for a small plate to use as a saucer for the milk. The last thing you were expecting to find when visiting Elaine in the Townhouse was her hunched over a little kitten, who was meowing and curling into Elaine. You were going to meet with her for lunch, you and Azriel, but it seemed as though your lunch date was going to be at another time.

After a few minutes of the kitten getting some milk in his belly, Elaine decided to give him a small bath. You could tell he was already looking and feeling better, as he should since he was under the care of Elaine.

Azriel walked into the small study where you two were, looking unamused at the little kitten as he hummed.

"Madja is a bit tied up at the moment to come and take a look, she's training some new healers at the medical center. Although wild beasts are not her forte, she thinks you're doing a good job so far,"

"Azriel, he's a defenseless kitten!" Elaine huffed at him, though Azriel was not phased as you were chuckling, "He's not a beast! He must have been abandoned by his mother!"

"Well we can let it go back in the garden and--" Azriel was about to suggest when Elaine shot up, snuggling the kitten in her hold.

"Surely not! Not with these cold nights we're having! I think we should keep him! Now Nyx is far too little for a kitten, I doubt Rhysand would let him near little Nyx,"

"Give it to Cassian as target practice," Azriel joked, this time you glared at him as you saw Elaine's face going white.

"You are not helping," You reminded him softly as he sighed. Elaine then piped up and walked over to place the kitten in Azriel's massive hands, Azriel looked rather shocked as the kitten looked up at him with massive blue eyes and gentle orange fur.

"I'll go contact Nesta and see if there's a book on kittens and cat care, there must be something at The House of Wind! You can watch him for a moment, won't you?" Elaine asked, then left before Azriel could rebuttal. Once the door was closed to the study, you had to laugh a bit as Azriel was looking down at the little kitten, a bit uncomfortable in holding such a small and defenseless animal in his massive and lethal hands.

He gave you a glare, "Don't you say a word,"

"Oh come on, Az! You were asking for it with what you said about the kitten! Elaine wants to take care of it, how can we get rid of him now? And besides, he's cute! How can you hate on a little kitten?"

"I don't hate cats! They're just....a bit mean and judgmental compared to other creatures," Azriel explained, you scoffing.

"Why does that sound familiar?" You asked playfully. Azriel stuck his tongue out and was about to say something else when you both heard a small sound from his hand. You both looked, and you grinned so widely at the sight.

The little kitten was fast asleep, curled in a ball in Azriel's palm, and purring so loud.

"Azriel," You said his name, walking over to wrap an arm around him as he was looking at the sleeping kitten in both shock and fascination, "I think it is safe to say that this cat has imprinted on you. Looks like you have a new pet,"

You saw Azriel slowly smile then, the roughness he had before has melted away.

A few minutes later Elaine came back into the study to tell you and Azriel that Nesta found some books, but she was shocked by what she saw. You both were reading in the armchairs, books in hand, and the fire crackling in the fireplace. But Azriel had the kitten now in his lap, still asleep and still purring as Azriel turned a page of his book. His spare hand was on the kitten's head, rubbing the top and looking rather content.

Elaine was about to say something when Azriel looked up and placed a finger on his lips, then pointed to the sleeping kitten on his leg. Elaine simply giggled and left you two alone in the study with your new companion, or Azrile's new companion.

Azriel would later name the cat "E".

Did you read my mind?! That's what I was thinking!!!😱😃 And yay, Laura! They, Reader, is too sweet to say no, and most likely they were asleep when the instincts took over, so it's not like they can leave anyway without causing a very, very big problem...

But yes, whenever the feral or partially feral mutants have to take a day off to handle their instincts (they're in a school and they can't hug or attack or nest regularly), they almost always request for them or move Reader into their room to cuddle with. So, that means Hank, Logan, Victor, Kurt, and Laura... along with possibly Todd, too... And Reader is slightly confused but happy to help! It would be nice, though, if they could get up to get them all food... (It's been three hours since they woke up, and no one has eaten anything since about 5:30pm or 6:30pm last night...)

• And to be fair, a few of the ferals do share rooms with each other/are roommates... For instance, Kurt and Todd possibly share a room, along with Evan and Pietro (they have bunk beds, and are bunk buddies)(Reader will jokingly see them as a quartet, like Ninja Turtles or some Power Rangers)

• Laura is likely with Kitty or Rogue, but because everyone sleeps over a lot in the rec rooms, she's usually able to curb most of her instincts by sleeping against Logan or cuddling with Reader.

• Aaand Victor and Logan share a room. Whenever Victor deals with instincts, he's the only one allowed out of the nest (their beds end up pushed together and covered with every blanket, sweater, and jacket they have) (Heaven help the school if all of the ferals/partially ferals are out the same day... Because they're likely keeping Reader with them, and no one is sure they can take on all of them to get Reader back to class/breakfast/lunch/recess...)

my first born ( they are my children hnsndjhjs ) is rusty (male). rusty used to have a wife named frosty but frosty died from an american bulldog attack :(. anyways, the second born is oreo (male), i found him on the roof of our house when i was d*pressed that was last year just a few days before my birthday. he was a lost cat. we waited for someone to claim him since he must be only from nearby but no one did so like i just decided to take care of him. the third is nala (female). nala is a daughter of rusty and my cousin's cat given to me as a kitty share! and then nala has two kitties now, 2 males, i just call them boop and beep haha. boop and beep were supposed to not have a name bc they were going to be adopted (i don't like naming pets when they'll be adopted bc i'll get too attached hsjdhd) but i had to name them eventually and so sudden (thus, 'boop and beep' i didn't really think. i just called them whatever slipped out from my mouth the day i had to finally name them hahaha) because we decided they'll stay due to them having health problems when they were smaller. that's five persian cats now. the two other cats are cleo (mom cat) and mia (daughter kitty) (females) they're stray cats. cleo was also from the roof hgfhgf she was so small when we found her stuck up there so we saved her and took care of her. she grew and got pregnant by another stray cat and gave birth to mia (and miu who got adopted by a fam friend!) + bonus, a big stray cat named booky. he's my mom's cat but like yeah we have 8 cats in the house all in all. we also have lots of dogs hffhg
