As a girl who has been living in Japan for almost a year now, this country is a freakin paradise for my fellow ppl w eds.

- Streets are walkable, and inside the building you actually have to walk a lot too, going from one room to another, so you do like 15000 steps a day just by walking around, even if you do a desk job.

- Cals and macros are on everything, and are easy to find on a package

- Super low cal and 0cal foods are always sold in huge amounts in normal stores - jellos, Coffee in bottles, a lot of sodas, ice teas (non-sweet ones) icy ice cream (yes, that exhists - 30-40 cals per 90g and tastes like soda!!!!)

- Chewing gum is ridiculous here. I cannot rly explain it but once you chew a couple of those long enough, you feel super full, nauseous and with sweet taste in your mouth for hours after you spit it out. Highkey feels like you have just binged on a few kilos of sweets although you actually have consumed maybe 10 cals MAX. Not all gum is like this but Lotte Fruit Cubes Gum always work for me.

- Portion sizes of EVERYTHING is super small. Bentos are small, packages are small, bottles of youghurt are tiny etc. You easily gaslight yourself that you ate a lot but you never do. Also here it is acceptable to not eat a lot so you do not feel wierd usually.

- If you like rice, seafoods and fish it is super cheap here, and keeps you full for long. Fruits arent cheap though.

- Thaking a nap instead of eating lunch is perfectly normal for japanese culture.

- I most shops there are a lot of cutesy warm clothes like socks n hoodies and blankies so u will not feel cold all the damn time if you do not like that

- Gyms are awesome overall and nobody stares at you bc japanese culture of being polite

- Lots of free thinspo on the streets >~< (but if ur non-asian you still feel good ab ur body because due to your built your bones are much more visible, so even if you do not feel petite enough compared to japanese girls at least you look much much sicker even not at a weight that is rly low :3)

- Clothes are super cute, and everything everywhere looks like pinterest board, the nice music is always playing on the background, and you feel like you entered one of those cutesy subliminal vids, which keeps me motivated for some reason

Flower pics before spring ends

Coolest thing university has given me is the ability to identify plants and i feel like a witch each time i look at a plant and go "Oh yes, Malva sylvestris!"

All these plants are common around where I live. They have been embedded into our culture, idioms, cusine, they have created our idea of beauty, what we can create with these plants we have considered delicious, the soil these flowers bloomed we have considered sacred, we have given them names and then named our children after them. We made up stories about them and believed in those stories. They happened our lives, and our lives revolved around them, us, as a tiny society in the seaside, became one with those plants. They were our food and we were theirs.

They have taught us of love and we have lived up to that. We tried to live up to that.

They have taught us how to live, in harsh conditions, starving of food, love, thirsty and unwelcome, they have taught us of how to love and strive. They became our food when we had none. Our shade when we were burning, our fire when we were freezing, our stories when we were bored.

They were how we learned not to fall or to get up, how we learned sharing, wisdom, patience. They were our greatest, most selfless teachers. Their scent filled up forests, pastures, even cities. They were there during the most important times of our lives, the scent of flowers was there for our birth and death, and when we graduated and married and laughed and cried. My city, it smells of lilacs.

Malvae Sylvestris was "İlmik" for me, when i was growing up. It grew during the rainy season, it made delicious börek filling and also was great with a side of youghurt. It is "ebegümeci" for some people still, which derives from "ebe gömeci (midwife's burier)", for its use in abortions before healthcare was as easy to reach. To some, this is medicine for the stinging nettle, or burns.

Prunus amygdalus is, well, almond, it is food to say the least. Almonds, "çağla" before almonds mature, and if fruits did not exist we would gnaw on the dried liquid dripping from the bark. The inedible variation, Prunus amygdalus var. amaratus, contains some amount of arsenic. The scent reminds me of thr bitter almond cookies, delicious really, to Gabriel Garcia Marquez it apparently inevitably reminded of thr fate of unrequited love. "Love in the Times of Cholera" smells like bitter almonds, the story, the whole story does.

You must know Apollon and Daphne, and how the poor girl was absolutely hating this god because of Apollo's cockiness and ego, how she begged the gods to be forgiven for a fault she did not commit. Rosa damascena is again from greek mythology, and is a prettier, kinder, more gentle story- or as pretty and kind and gentle as Greek mythology goes. This is how Aphrodite's blood colored the all white roses red, as she was rushing to reach her dying lover. This is what she did for the one she truly loved, she was hurt and she did not care. This is what we think of true love. The lover died regardless. Red roses smell like blood to me, since then.

And do you want to hear yet another story? This is a regional story for snowdrop. Legend says that snowdrop was a delicate flower. So delicate yet so brave, so brave yet so in love. It was in love with the sun itself, and each day as it waited under the soil to bloom, the more the longing in its heart grew. The flower, in cold weather, imagined the gentle rays of the sun, pretty days of the spring. Each time it tried to repress its longing, it grew inside of the flower a little bit more. Each time the flower dreamt of beautiful, warm days of the spring, the cold felt colder. The snowdrop, being the brave little soul it is, then decided to bloom right that moment. The poor flower though, was gentle. Other flowers shouted, and the wind whispered to the seed, "do not bloom." "If you bloom now, the cold will kill you. If you bloom now, the snow will freeze you." He couldn’t even comprehend it, not even how much his hands shivered despite their grip. Whether it was fear or the temperature, he didn’t bother to think further. It lowered it’s snout for a closer look, either for the creature to see the terror of the human or for the human to see the sharply bared fangs. The Hunter could feel the snarl and growl dig into his chest as a preemptive threat, he couldn’t hear anything else. Not even the sound of his exhales and inhales ,almost sharing the same frame of time, or the heavy gulp of the heart lodged in his throat. This was it for him, he believed so willingly and quickly. As the wintery monster stepped one, two and three more towards him, Fundy had accepted the fate cruelly handed to him. The poor soul wished he could say he had a good run before leaving without goodbye.

It was a good thing that he merely felt the beast sniff his head. Then neck. Then body. All until the frost covered him whole like an oddly unwarm blanket. If sitting in Fundy’s lap was the way this Dreamon killed him slowly, it was an odd choice.

Ambiades is actually an intelligent dude and I think he'll be a competent politician (according to the standards of this world). He's also a decent survivalist, and I imagine has some skill with weaponry. That's literally better than every other character I've seen except maybe Pol, but he just looks like a grunt. Also yes, the apprenticeship is bellow him, he should be learning how to be a leader, take care of his lands, the political landscape of the kingdoms, and how to lead a household not about the fucking olive trees tf 😂😂 he's a future baron (ngl I thought he was the future duke, so I had to look at the wiki. Sophos is the duke, which makes his incompetence shine through), he'll be able to find himself one hundred other Magisi (Magises?) to tell him which tree is what for him. This is probably an attempt to cozy himself up to the king, and other important figures at the court. Smart.

Solnas (Point A) and Attolia (Point B) two kingdoms that trade. noted. Edis (Edas?) Is the midpoint between these two, and depends heavily on trade.

Ah. Solnas suffers from deforestation. I wonder if it has anything to do with the rapid expansion of the kingdom in the last 10-20 years. Naaah, probably just a coincidence. /s

Anyway Edis serves as a natural barrier between these two big shots which is the only reason Solnas hasn't invaded.

"The Gods of the Mountain country" how quaint. Ok fire round. Bastardized myth of Hephesta (Hestia), and the titans (sons and daughters of the sky and earth/ Uranus and Gea). We also got minor gods of nature, like nymphs (they remind me of the Old Gods in asoiaf) and the philosopher's stone (alchemy mcguffin that grants immortality)

Aaaah. We finally get plot as a reward. They will steal the philosopher's stone to usurp the kingdom of Edis (since it's seen as a symbol of legitimacy) which is actually a better way to keep track of lineages and keep at bay succession wars. There's no dna tests so I do believe that magic is a more reliable way of knowing these things. If they have Edis, they have Attolia. And all of that rests on the shoulders of a random street rat they found. Just as well. They can always wash their hands of Gen and say he's just a rando if everything fails.

The fact that the magis is there is totally a coincidence, believe him, he's there for the olive trees.

To confirm. Hameathes' Gift = Philosopher's stone. Also like. There's two queens and one king, the story is called the queen's thief and not the king's so Gen's obviolsy going to betray these people or do a switcheroo.

1. Tiramisù - fun fact: I don’t like coffee (yes, I know, an Italian who doesn’t drink coffee, seems impossible) so I always avoided it. This is until my best friend made me try hers. No turning back after that ☕️

2. Red velvet cake - absolutely love red velvet!!

3. Cheesecake - another fun fact: never tried it until I went to USA when I was about 15. I remember I didn’t really like it. Tried it again in uni and absolutely loved it. Not really picky with flavours!

4. Gelato 🍦 dare I say more? I’m a sucker for chocolate and youghurt ice cream!

5. Sticky toffee pudding - this is something I obviously picked since I moved to UK 5 years ago. Not a big fan of toffee, but sticky toffee pudding? I’m there ✌🏻

I was aware of it, I’ve studied nursing and that can happen to old people when they’re super constipated, but I certainly wouldn’t have wanted to be reminded of that while eating youghurt.

I just had to pay attention to the Mirror Universe bc there was a mirror for each one there... The colors will be our guide.

The yogurt situation...

This heated war began with a guy dressed on green (Healing!Dean) asking who ate his youghurt...

And if you watch this frame... We have our guilty there...

This guy red colored dressed... (Yeah ... Hello Toxic!Dean) stole the yogurt and now is eating it.

Is a very common situation but... The fight between these two over THAT YOUGHURT was heated!

So... Healing!Dean kicking Toxic!Dean ass because he took something that was precious to him and eat it. He was keeping that very carefully... But this guy came and steal that from him. And now everything is lost.

Who or what is the youghurt? Ok... I may say Castiel? His friendship? His attempts for being something else with him? Those lingering "moves" we saw Dean and Cas shared? Being together like glued? That tiny hope of trying to test if CAS was feeling the same? Yeah... What he was trying to do... Wherever it was... This guy ruined.

Is not just one yogurth, IS DEAN'S PRECIOUS YOGURTH! DELICIOUS AND SEXY YOGURTH!!!

And after this the guy in green says IT WAS THREE YOUGHURTS!!! Ok! We were TFW!!! WE WERE THREE!! YOU RUINED IT!! FOR SAYING THOSE WORDS!! AND HAVING THAT BEHAVIOR!

So he not just ruined the THING he had with CAS but the entire TFW by breaking it.

The lady was dressed so so interesting, and she was carrying two staplers, one in Red (Dean) and the other in Blue (Cas).

And she lost her place there too she was screaming that was her place!! 🤣🤣🤣 Looking for a place in the family and in this world!

The blue screens

If you see the scene, the screens in the Mirror Universe were all blue (Castiel)... And people was watching on it. Paying attention just to that screen. That's why I assume we were seeing here a kind of Dean's inner Thoughts, he was focusing now his attention in Castiel's actions, Castiel "BETRAYAL"... Or maybe his subconscious... And each people representing situations and people he loves. And himself too, ofc.

To conclude.

Mirrors Universe was indeed that, but also it was a huge representation of Dean's actual mind state. The mess and the anger, he feels that if he says the truth that's what is going to happen CAOS. Revealing his best friend he loves him not just as a friend?? CAOS. Talking about BETRAYAL? CAOS. And we can keep on and on...

I loved this episode so much, it had a lot of symbolism. I hope next season keep this kind of writing.

Daighi Biryani once again by none other than Khizran Ahmed. The only alternation i did was that i added half a pack of Special Bombay Biryani Masala and added yoghurt at the beginning and rest of the procedure was the same! It turned our really well.. Sharing it here! 😀 INGREDIENTS: Chicken - 1 ( cut into 12 pcs ) Onion - 2 medium size ( finely chopped ) Tomato - 1 big size ( finely chopped) Potato - 3-4 medium sized ( cut into big pieces ) Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 Tb sp Red chilli powder - 1 Tb sp or according to your taste . Kashmiri chilli powder ( optional ) - 1 Tb sp or according to your taste . Turmeric - 1 Tsp Dhanya powder - 2 Tb sp Salt - according to your taste Black pepper ( whole ) - 10-15 Cloves ( long ) 10-12 Green cardamom ( choti ilaichi ) - 8-10 Black cardamom ( bari ilaichi ) - 3 Cinnamon stick ( daar cheeni ) - 1 pc. Oil - 1 cup or as required Layering 1- Kewra water 2-  Sookhay aaloo bukharay ( dry plum ) - 7-8 ( soak in water ) 3-Jaifal powder ( nutmeg) - 1/4 Tsp 4- Javitri powder ( Mace ) - 1/4 Tsp 5- Tomato - 2 medium size ( cut into slices ) 6-Lemon - 2 small ( cut into slices , remove seeds ) 7- Fresh Dhanya ( coriander ) - 1/2 cup 8- Fresh podina ( mint leaves ) - 1/2 cup 9- yoghurt - 1 cup 10- Green chillies - 10-12 Rice : Good quality sella basmati rice - 4 cups ( soak for 2 hours ) Oil - half cup Bay leaves ( taiz patta ) - 2, 3 Black cumin ( Kala zeera ) - 1 Tsp Kewra water - 2-3 Tb sp Food colour - 1/4 Tsp Milk - 1 Tb sp Friend onion ( Brown piyaz ) - 1/2 cup Method : FOR MASALA ♦️Take a big wok ( karahi ) and put everything in it , yes everything except potato ! Chicken + gg paste + chopped onion + chopped tomatoes + red chilli powder + Kashmiri chilli powder ( optional ) + dhanya powder + haldi + salt + black pepper + long + bari ilaichi + choti ilaichi + dar cheeni + oil . Sab kuch aik Sath daal kar mix kar dain . ♦️Now cover this and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes . ♦️Uncover , make the flame high aur masala Itni dair bhooniye kay oil separate ho jaye . ♦️Adjust salt n chilli , turn off the flame . ♦️Dunya ka Asaan tareen biryani masala tayyar hay 😉 ♦️Boil the potatoes, add little bit of orange red food colour and salt in the water . Strain and keep aside . FOR RICE 🔷 Take a big pot , fill with adequate amount of water , add 4 Tb sp salt , oil , taiz patta , Kala zeera . 🔷When water starts boiling , add rice , boil and strain . 🔷Now add Kewra water in rice mix gently and keep aside . LAYERING ❤️ Now Take a quiet big pateela and start layering . 1- First pour all the chicken with masala and oil at the bottom and spread evenly . 2-Sprinkle 1 Tb sp Kewra water over chicken . 3-Now add boiled potatoes . 4-Sprinkle jaifal and javitri powder . 5- Strain soaked Aaloo Bukhara and spread over . 6- Add tomato slices 7- Now carefully keep each lemon slice over tomato slice . Be careful lemon slices don’t touch chicken or rice. 8- Now cover all the lemon slices with dhanya podina . 9- Spread 1 cup well beaten youghurt ( add little salt and food colour in youghurt ) on top of everything. Finally masala layering is done 🙈🙈 ❤️Now Add Add all the rice . ❤️Green chillies ko thumb ki madad say rice May daba dain . ❤️Dissolve orange red food colour in 1 Tb sp milk and spread over rice in spiral 🌀 form . DO NOT MIX WITH SPOON AT THIS STAGE 🙏 , just spread and leave it ! ❤️Spread brown onions on top . I always keep brown onions at my home , if you don’t have , fry some before you start cooking biryani . No need of baghar . Sirf friend onion oopar phaila dain . ❤️Cover and cook on high flame for 5-7 minutes . Yoghurt and tomatoes will realease their water , we need to dry it . ❤️Then keep on dam for 20-30 minutes . ❤️Mix gently and serve hot with raita and salad . RECIPE ENDS HERE for EXPERTS . Hmm so many haha but the most probably Neferet and Pazair from The Judge of Egypt trilogy

The books or films we read and watch often don’t end the way we want. Is there a fictional story you wish it ended differently?

Yes!! The first one that I think of when reading this is La Cançó de les Balances, a theatre play by Josep Maria Carandell. (not the ending scene with the 2 main characters, that one is perfect. But the story they explain) It’s complicated because I know that it has to end like that, it only makes sense for the story to end like that but I just! really! want! to! know! what! they! did! next!! The same would apply for the end of Fahrenheit 451 for a more well-known example

There’s also lots of cases where I wish my favourite characters didn’t die (looking at everything Victor Hugo ever wrote) but generally I tend to think that even though it’s sad, it’s what is best for the story.

Day seven for a milion time

Punishment what I deserve... I went clean kinchen and somehow decided to look into fridge... I made salt youghurt with cheese and spice... yes I’m dumb. But because I forget my water at home today, I drank only cup of coffee and cup of water at school... so befor eating this salty yoghurt, I forde myself to drink 1 l of water. At once. I almost puked... but food went to trash and I’m feeling like trash also... I feel so sick.

Tomorrow I probably will drink can of pure mango juice. I now it’s sugar bomb, but I will drive for longer time so maybe for everyone safety... I’m not feeling dizzy at all but two hours in car mostly on highway... I’m probably “to save” type of driver, I don’t even use listerine (mouth wash) in morning when I drive because I’m to scared

I’m so excited about what scale will show tomorrow. I’m addicted on that dropping number (hopefully dropping)...

Kitty sweetheart - please take the bed when it comes. Honest truth, I don't feel you can turn this around now without more intensive support. This isn't because I don't have faith in you, it's because I know how long you've tried to fight on your own and it's so exhausting. It's taken it out of you. You need to see what a REAL meal plan is. None of this light or fat free crap - pardon my French, but that's what it is! I nearly chucked the "light and free" youghurts in Waitrose on the floor!

I know that this message comes from a place of care, so thank you Sophie.You are right, I have been trying for years in the community and maybe I do need some more intense support - exactly why I am still considering taking a bed if it does come up/come my way. I had a short admission a few years ago so do know what a ‘real’ meal plan is but yes I know where you are coming from. I read somewhere not so long ago how diet food is almost like ‘half food’ and it makes total sense! It’s not a proper/normal yoghurt, it’s a ‘half’ yoghurt; and not to mention that they taste pretty dreadful/are packed with tonnes of sweeteners to try and make them taste a little better x
