Do you have any hcs abt how Curt and Owen "came out" to one another? (Using the term loosely cuz obviously they can't just be like "IM GAY") And also how they got together (who fell first etc etc)

Ok, so to preface this, my favourite thing about curtwen is just how many ways you can interpret their pre-canon relationship.

I try to keep their story relatively loose in my head, save for a few headcanons I very strongly believe in, because it's more fun this way.

For me, the #1 headcanon that's in all the iterations I think of, is that they hated each other at first. I think their personalities clash way too much for them to be all buddy-buddy on the first day. (Physical attraction? maybe. Was it minuscule compared to their irritation with each other? yes.)

I just think it's interesting how the two of them gradually (and begrudgingly) start to care about each other.

I think their "friendship stage" is one of my favourite parts about the whole thing. Now I refuse to believe either of those men have friends. Maybe coworkers and acquaintances, but not friends. Which is why this stage lasts so little.

As their work their way up to care for and respect each other, both of them go a little crazy about it.

It's the first time in years or even decades they felt genuine affection and maybe even trust, and both of them are extremely starved for it. So it really doesn't take much for them to fall for each other. (especially since the aforementioned physical attraction was always there and only getting stronger as they learned to tolerate each other)

I imagine, because of this, Owen was the one who fell first, and he employed his usual tactic for dealing with unwanted feelings: Being an ass and depriving himself of good things. He got more intense about his work, trying to immerse himself in it, so he'll stop thinking about Curt. He stayed up late, didn't even try to take it easy when he had a migraine, drank shit coffee and other great things.

It technically worked. He looked like shit, which in turn made Curt worried, and if Owen completely invalidated his worries the two of them would get into a fight, be mad at each other and not interact so much. Owen thought this would make him not yearn for Curt so bad (he still did, in fact, yearn for him that bad)

When Curt realized he was in love with Owen he was pretty horrified. Like listen. If someone has commitment issues it's Curt. Maybe he had a boyfriend or two during his teenage years/twenties, but they didn't end well, and since then he's been trying to keep everybody at arms length. He convinced himself Owen wasn't so bad because hey. They were just buddies (and Curt desperately needed a buddy.)

He tried to shove down and ignore his feelings, but moaning your friend's name while banging another guy may just be a little more than what you can avoid.

He never understood why Owen turned so cold suddenly, and he was terrified Owen just didn't like or trust him anymore. In turn he was also mad at him for trying to shut him out.

Their little hate renaissance could only last so long though. They were still each other's only friends and no matter what they did they kept being drawn back to each other.

This was a super long preface but. I am not normal about those two.

So. different scenarios and headcanons and whatnot

1. Either one of them somehow discovers the other is gay. This would probably mean Owen finding out about Curt, because, I wholeheartedly believe that man would leave during a mission sometimes just to get a quick fuck in. Maybe Owen finds out with evidence (fast & easy method) or he just starts strongly suspecting with his great spying and deduction skills (slow & torturous method, he'd try to convince himself he's just seeing what he wants to see) either way, the confrontation would be very uncomfortable for both of them. Curt would deny it ofc, and Owen would go through the internal battle of "tell him it's fine, you won't rat him out, but be a little homophobic about it, so maybe you can keep the only friend you have, but also be ok with the fact that he'll always be with other men and never you" or "tell him you're gay too, maybe he likes you, maybe not, and potentially risk losing your job and livelihood and everything you've ever worked for" He'd most likely end up doing the latter, surprising both Curt and himself. (He's already way more into Curt than he admits to himself) And things escalate from there.

2. Dramatic post mission (maybe a "I thought I'd never see you again" moment) This is where their friendship gets really interesting to me. For a scenario like this the months long yearning is a given, maybe even a lot of unresolved tension between the two (which would probably be resolved with violence anyways) They care very deeply about each other by now. They know each other better than anyone, and their idyllic relationship is only made into a living hell by all the pining. At this point I mean, they'd buy each other birthday gifts, go over to the other's house when they were in the same country and share way too much info over drinks. Their job is always dangerous, but even they can get scared. Maybe we're talking being crazy outnumbered, or a torture/hostage situations, or hell even a collapsing building. Point is, id either one of them thought the other (or both of them) may die, at this point they'd be impulsive enough to just say I love you or kiss the other. In the moment neither of them would care, and later on, when you'd normally talk about things like near death makeout sessions, they'd just. not. do that, because communication is for guys with better life prospects. This one has absolutely no coming-out talk in it, simply because they don't need it

3. Possibly drunk hookup Now clearly, we are talking about two of the most down bad men ever. This is one scenario, I think could also work really well when they still really hated each other. Maybe throughout their first few mission they both gathered enough evidence and sussed each other out, and after (yet another) explosive fight they might just. Alleviate the tension by not beating each other up but by. other means. They don't end up talking much about it, but it keeps happening, and wait maybe they don't even hate each other all that much. (This is the more sober option) The other one is where the "possibly drunk" comes in. If they've been friends for a while, they probably got used to working around each other and finding comfort in the other's presence. This includes little habits, inside jokes, and even (very small) physical touches. This probably wouldn't go down during a mission, it's more likely to happen at either Curt's or Owen's house, maybe during some holiday. Both of them realizing it's a pretty bad idea early on, because, without all the stress of the missions and navigating a foreign country all that's left is them and the feelings they have for each other. Owen would probably say no to drinks for the first few times, just to avoid a potentially dangerous situation, but Curt would wear him down eventually. Now, with both of them drunk and comfortable, it wouldn't take much for things to escalate. Maybe Curt forgets to take his hand off of Owen after patting him on the back, or Owen holds Curt gaze for a little too long. Either way, those two end up fucking. The next day both of them are a little horrified, but they manage to come clean about their feelings (even if it's in the most backwards and convoluted way possible)

Happy ending (or not) There's many more ways it could've happened, but I already wrote wayyyy too much I think.

In the end I don't think they'd ever have a proper conversation about homosexuality, even way into their relationship. It's something they slowly pick up on from each other. How ashamed are they, what makes them tick, what you shouldn't say etc. And then of course, since they don't communicate properly and sometimes purposefully hurt each other, they'd throw it all back in the other's face.

EXTENSION TO THE LITTLE SCHUMINIS

Summary: A series in which Mick Schumacher tackles the challenges and moments of being a father to his little carbon copies with his father Michael Schumacher (alongside his in-law Sebastian Vettel, who continues to deny that he was a grandfather while accepting his role as the Schumacher kids’ Opa).

Scenario summary: With Minna’s first birthday coming up, Mick struggles to find the perfect gift that she’ll learn to cherish forever. Thankfully, Michael still knows how to make Gina’s old rocking horse and Sebastian knew how to operate the electric sander. AND Michael and Sebastian are insufferable as in-laws.

Mick Schumacher knew that his off days were numbered. He hated that he had to count his days and immediately head back to the road and race. 

But he did what he had to do for the sake of giving his daughter a better future— whether it had something to do with their financial situation (they were rich as hell) or her desire to follow Mick’s footsteps to become a racer (Mick was praying to god she didn’t want to be a racer), he persisted on staying and racing for the season for the sake of his family. 

Regardless of his limited days off, he did what he could do and participated in the event planning for his firstborn's first birthday celebration. His wife, Barbie, insisted that she and Gina were handling it well, but he wanted to do something special alongside them. 

And so Barbie and Gina assigned him to find his daughter a special gift for the celebration. “Something that would mean to her in the long run,” his sister said. 

His face paled a little when she said that. It was so cryptic and vague. It was just vague. 

He thought about the theme of the party at first. Minna Elisa’s first birthday party was running with the farm theme.

When it was first suggested by Gina, Mick almost snorted to ridicule the thought. “We already grew up around them,” he said, “I don’t think Minna would appreciate that. Why can’t it be just horses?” 

Then Barbie and Mick’s mother Corinna agreed to Gina’s idea. After all, Minnie was already showing a great interest in animals! Specifically horses.

Horses. 

RIGHT! Mick almost yelled and stood up, looking for his old photo albums. He skimmed through the pages and wondered what his and Gina’s rooms looked like before in Texas. The Schumacher siblings loved their home in Texas— especially their rooms. Mick’s room was converted to be Kimi and Stefan Vettel’s guest rooms but they remained with the same theme of western style and horses. 

Then, just as he browsed through his pictures with Gina in her bedroom, his eyes immediately zeroed in on the pink and blue wooden rocking horse that his baby self sat on while Gina stood next to the boy. 

He knew what he wanted to get his little girl now.

And so the first thing he did was phone his parents. He called Corinna’s phone, but it was Michael who had answered the call.

“Mick?” 

“Oh, hey Dad, is mom there?” Mick nearly facepalmed. This was literally Corinna’s phone he had called.

“Am I that boring to you, Mickie?” Michael scoffed, making Mick roll his eyes. “I can hear your eyes rolling from here. Seriously, is there anything I can help with? Your mom is out at the back right now.”

“Yes, actually,” Mick cleared his throat and stared at the picture of him and Gina as he continued, “I saw this photo of me and Gina in the ranch— her room actually. Gina had this wooden rocking horse and I’m wondering if we still have it there. I’m hoping to ask Gina if I can get it and restore it as a gift for Minnie’s birthday?” 

“Oh. That pink and blue one?”

“Yup, that one.”

“Gina broke it when she was five and we had it thrown out,” Michael almost sighed at the memory.

Mick winced when he learned the news. “Why- ugh Gina.”

“We told her that she can’t ride it anymore but she was persistent,” Michael chuckled. “Why would you restore it when you can just buy one?”

“Because it would mean a lot more if Minna got the same one her Aunt Gina has,” Mick murmured. “She’ll see it in the pictures and be like ‘Wow this was my Auntie G’s!” 

“Huh,” Michael let out a hum. “That’s… that’s very thoughtful, Mick. But sadly we don’t have it in Texas, anymore.” 

Mick let out a sigh of defeat. He could just always get Minna a new one, but it would mean a lot if his daughter got something from their childhood that she would enjoy as well. 

Michael had a different thought, however. 

The 7-time world champion had spoken up again after hearing absolutely nothing from his son, “It was something that I made from scratch, Mick.” 

Mick’s eyes quirked at the sound of this as he asked, “You made it?” 

“Ralf and I did,” Michael replied, referring to Mick’s uncle as Michael continued, “I still remember what it looks like and if you’d like, we can make it. Though I doubt that you’d have time to—“

“NO, NO, NO!” Mick panicked, wincing at the volume of his voice as he looked back at the entryway of the living room. Barbie would kill him if his tone woke the baby up. Then he began speaking as quietly as possible, “I’m not busy on my next off— surely it won’t take us long to make it right?”

“You have to rest for the—“

“—Dad, I’m begging you right now please help me,” Mick pleaded desperately. “I have a doubleheader after my next off and I wouldn’t have time in the future like Dad please.”

Michael immediately interrupted Mick, “Mick for the love of god, stop freaking out—“

“—Sorry,” Mick muttered. “Didn’t mean to freak out. ‘S just… I haven’t done anything for Minnie’s birthday and this is her first birthday. My first kid’s first birthday. I’m already missing out on most of her life and I can’t even do anything for her first birthday? What kind of a father would I be?”

Michael understood. He understood fully what Mick felt and he wouldn’t deny that. He was a father as well, and he rarely saw Gina and Mick during the season— he had often labelled himself as a shitty father for it. It was only fair that Michael understood how Mick felt now that he, too, was a father. 

But instead of expressing his empathy outright, Michael only sighed and spoke, “Lassen Sie uns morgen mit klaren Köpfen beginnen.” Let’s start with clear minds tomorrow.

“Was meinst du, Dad?” What do you mean, Dad? Mick asked. 

“We’ll plan out what to do in two weeks then start,” Michael told his son through the phone and instructed, “It’ll take us a while to figure it out so I need you to clear your brain and sleep it off. Don’t get too stressed, Mickie. ‘s not good for you— Minnie’s a baby but she can feel stress when it’s nearby.” 

“Okay,” Mick cleared his throat, now determined to stay sane for a little while. “I’ll do that.”

“Don’t get too antsy about not being able to do anything,” Michael reassured him. “Everyone around you already knows you’re doing more than you think.” 

“Alright,” Mick murmured softly, “th- thanks dad. Say hi to mom for me, yeah?”

“You guys~” Barbie had walked into the deck of their home, her face offering her husband Mick and father-in-law Michael a puzzled look. 

“You two have been here for hours,” Barbie told them as if she was worried. She had been hearing some strange noise at the deck earlier today alongside the murmuring. Knowing Mick and Michael, she assumed that they were just relaxing at the back. 

Yet here she was, looking at them with a baffled look as she watched Mick’s hand pull away from the half-cut lumber and electric saw.

“No we’re not,” Michael quipped, “we’ve been here for two.” 

“Hours,” Barbie emphasized. “Minna just—“ 

“Da! Da!” Corinna had followed suit and walked out with eleven-month-old Minna in her arms, grinning as the baby continued to babble happily.

“Yeah, what Minna said,” Barbie murmured, stepping back as she said, “she just woke up from her nap.”

“Aw, is that right, meine kleine Minnie?” My little Minnie. Michael cooed, arms extending to reach for his granddaughter as he carried Minna in his arms. He grinned heavily as he began to move around with the little girl. “Did you have a good nap, liebe?”

“Pip!” Minna shrieked, only knowing that word alongside ‘Ma’ and ‘Da.’ “Pip!”

“Is that a yes or a no?” Michael hummed before pressing a kiss on the little one’s chubby cheek. “I assume it’s a yes.”

“Oh definitely a yes,” Barbie chuckled, “I know what Mick looks like waking up from a nap— she's definitely a Schumacher who had a good nap.” 

Mick groaned playfully, earning a giggle from Barbie. 

“By the way,” Barbie brought up, “Seb is coming over with Kimi and Stefan.” 

“Oh great, look, Dad, Seb’s helping us,” Mick looked at Michael. 

“What’re you two doing anyways?” Corinna asked, her eyes looking at the scattered tools and piled-up lumber. Barbie found herself looking as well, curious eyes now trained at the cans of paint as she looked back at the father-son duo. 

“Stuff,” Mick shrugged nonchalantly.

“Wow aren’t you specific,” Corinna muttered.

“It’s for Minnie’s birthday,” Michael waved off the two women, “don’t worry about it. It’ll be done by the end of the day.”

“Minnie’s birthday is in four weeks,” Mick continued, “I wanted to make something for her so… yeah.”

“You don’t even know how to make something wood-related, Mick,” Barbie replied with a raised brow.

Mick then murmured, “I’ll show you something wood-related— ow, Mom!” Corinna smacked Mick on the back of his head and glared at him, gesturing back to Minna. 

Michael snorted aloud, making Minna laugh at the sound. 

“That’s your child in front of you, Mick,” Barbie warned with a cheeky grin. “Careful with your words now, yeah?” 

Mick only rolled his eyes. It wasn’t as if Minna could understand that easily. 

“Besides,” Barbie continued, “shouldn’t you be talking to Seb about… lumber stuff? He’s made an impressive apiary before.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Michael scoffed and waved off the offer, “I’ve made this before. It’s nothing I can’t do. Sebastian’s never done this— he wouldn’t be that good without any instruction.”

Corinna and Barbie traded looks. If there was something that the Schumachers and Vettels knew, it was that Sebastian was good at a lot of things— so the fact that Michael was underestimating his woodworking skills? That definitely wouldn’t sit right with Seb especially if he’s heard of it.

Sebastian Vettel wasn’t usually like this, but when Corinna brought up Michael’s comments about his skills the 4-time world champion couldn’t help but lean against the deck railing with a smirk. In his hand was a bottle of beer, watching the Schumacher men struggle with sanding the wood surfaces that they’ve cut. Or rather, they didn’t know how to operate the electric sander. 

Mick groaned, “Seb— some help please?” He turned to look at the driver, who kept leaning against the railing with a cheeky smile.

“I would but Michael said I can’t be good without ins—“

“Oh come on, have a laugh, Seb,” Michael looked at Sebastian in annoyance, making the man finally cave in and laugh. “Just come help— this is your granddaughter’s gift too—“

“No, don’t call Minnie that,” Sebastian interrupted Michael and shook his head. “Don’t call her my granddaughter.”

“Is she not?” Mick raised a brow. He was merely teasing. After all, Sebastian proudly called himself Barbie’s (foster) father — therefore he was a proud Opa to the little Minna Schumacher. 

Seb just refused to be called a grandfather. He wasn’t that old yet. Fernando Alonso was literally older than him! He sometimes denied that he was a grandfather— but he wouldn’t ever deny Minnie the right to call him Opa.

“Step away,” Sebastian said, now handling the sander as he started it. “You should’ve called me earlier today— I would’ve gone and done all of this.”

“Dad said he could do it, that's why I thought we didn’t need some help,” Mick reasoned.

Sebastian gave his mentor Michael a look and said, “Minna’s not just your granddaughter, Michael. Learn to share responsibilities. I have to spoil her too.”

Michael rolled his eyes, “Just sand the whole thing so we can paint it.”

Minna Schumacher’s first birthday party was anything but simple. The little one had charmed people with her signature Schumacher grin and had giggled at almost anything. 

But it wasn’t just her adorable and charming being that turned the environment of the party up a notch. Her little heart-studded cowboy boots gathered the attention of most guests as she slowly walked and stomped around the venue, smiling up at whoever she came across as her mother Barbie assisted her. 

“Oh my, is that my Minnie baby?” Barbie grinned at her mother Bel Vettel as the little one excitedly stomped her feet down. Minna immediately sped up her steps and leaned forward to be reached by Bel. 

The older woman, despite not looking the part, took Minna in her arms and hoisted the baby up with a light grunt. Bel grinned and squealed at Minna, “You are such a big girl now, Minnie! Whatever will Oma do about it?!” 

“Oma,” Minna babbled repeatedly before putting her little hands over Bel’s cheeks. The baby continued to babble as Bel nodded along. 

Bel then looked over at her daughter and smiled, “And you? I’ve heard you’re feeling sick lately.” 

Barbie rolled her eyes playfully, “It’s hard to keep things a secret in this family, huh?” 

Bel chuckled, “You know that we’re only worried. Are you okay though, Barbie? Corinna said—“

“Nina!” Bel and Barbie chuckled at Minna’s excited expression. 

Bel then continued, “She said that you’re feeling ill— or at least Mick’s been telling her.”

“Mm, yeah,” Barbie hummed, reaching to fix Minna’s pigtails as she continued, “I’ve been throwing up and all that… I think I know—“

“—I knew it,” Bel squealed, bouncing Minna in joy as she cooed at the baby, “Minna’s gonna be a big sis huh? Are you?” 

Barbie chuckled happily, “I have a hunch. Let’s just not tell Mick or the others yet, if that’s okay. I don’t want them to get their hopes up.”

“Yeah, of course,” Bel grinned, pressing kisses on Minna’s face. “I’ve got more babies to spoil— and I thought Stefan and Kimi’s gonna be the only kids I’ll be able to spoil!” 

“I still can’t believe you got her a bag,” Barbie rolled her eyes, making Bel giggle as Barbie continued, “She won’t be able to use that for a while, Bel. She's only a year old.”

“Yeah, but she’s my Minnie baby,” Bel pouted dramatically. “You know I wouldn’t pass up the chance to spoil my little Minnie, no, Bebe?” Bel grinned at the toddler as Minna replied with a laugh.

“Bel,” Barbie sighed, “you got her a Hermes.”

“Only the best from Oma Bel,” the older woman grinned, making Barbie sigh again.

Barbie then said, “Only the best for Minna— I feel like I’ve heard everyone say that.” 

“Of course,” Bel quipped, “everyone wants to be Minna’s favourite. But it seems like her Da and Pippa will win that title sometime soon.” 

They both looked over where the wooden rocking horse was. It was majestic— the handiwork that Mick and Michael made for the little girl. 

It was similar to the one that Mick showed Barbie. But instead of the pastel blue and pink, the rocking horse was painted with the colours of Michael Schumacher’s racing suit back when he won his first world championship— the Benetton blue and yellow accentuated in the wooden horse while his driver number was painted on the sides of the horse.

Barbie chuckled softly, “Don’t say that out loud— Seb might hear. You know that he wants to be Minna’s favourite grandpa no matter how much he refuses to get called one.” 

On the other side of the room, the birthday girl’s dad Mick, and her grandfathers Michael and Sebastian (who still called himself ‘Opa’ rather than ‘Grandpa’) stood as they looked over where the wooden horse was. 

“I’m surprised that it turned out well,” Mick mumbled. Sebastian and Michael hummed in agreement. “Minnie wouldn’t stop going to it since she found it.”

“Well that’s good,” Michael joked, “otherwise I wasted hours of my time for nothing.”

“This was an eye-opener for me, you know?” Mick told the two, making the older men shoot him a puzzled look as he continued with a grin, “Who would’ve thought that it’ll take being Minnie’s grandpa for you to fight over the little things?” 

Sebastian scoffed and Michael rolled his eyes.

Sebastian then grinned, “Had I known that Michael was going to be this insufferable as an in-law, I simply wouldn’t have let you date Barbie—“

Michael’s eyes widened and he looked at Sebastian with a baffled look, making Sebastian and Mick laugh aloud. 

“Oh you two,” Michael muttered. “It’s no wonder why I’m Minna’s favourite.”

“Yeah, yeah, keep lying to yourself, Michael.”

“Yeah, whatever, Dad.”

just cuz he knows you know what your doing

plus you can do it yourself, your not his child 😂

besides after mitsuki finds out he’s getting some of it for you he gets extra from her

he easily prefers cooking with you over any other class 1a student

simply because he tolerates (loves you) way more than any of them

SO, here’s the thing : when it comes to ships in genera it takes a lot for me to actually have OTPs and stuff and this is especially true in ddlc for me. For me shipping is more of a “sure, i could get behind this” sort of thing, except if once in a blue moon i find that one ship that alters my brain chemistry but believe it or not that has not really happened to me with any of the ddlc ships. It has happened with the game as a whole, but not really with the ships. The only one that has come close i’d say is sayonika but that’s more bc they happen to be the characters that i think about the most

That being said, i’d say i ship every ship in the game, simply because i could honestly see all of them working out in one way or another. Sure, they’re are some i like more than others but generally all of them work. And yes, this includes the Mc ships even though i like them less bc the side stories blew it out of the park with the chemistry between the girls

Speaking of the side stories, they are the sole reason i got into the shipping side of the fandom lol. The base game, as influential as it was for me, never really ignited any shipping sparks ig. I actually could not care less for the shipping before the side stories, bc most of it felt kind of trope-y ironically enough. Like, Natsuri was the big one, which was only popular bc of the whole opposite’s attract thing (not that there’s anything wrong with that ofc, it just never really resonated with me). Sayonika was a victim of what i like to call the “leftovers syndrome” where two characters are shipped bc they are the only ones left to be shipped with.

And Mc.. well let’s talk about that actually. Mc x Yuri is well… how do i put this. They have absolutely nothing in common. I don’t necessarily hate this ship however, if i see it done right i can like it. Mc x Natsuki was alright, the banter was fun, they actually have things they can talk about, it’s overall a nice ship. I will say i prefer them as close friends, but if i was to see media (fan art, fics, mods etc) where it’s done right, i can appreciate it. Mc x Sayori is also a ship i can enjoy from time to time, probably the most out of any Mc ship. Again, i do prefer talking about their friendship more though but now that i’m writing this down i realise i’m just a slut for male/female friendships. Mc x Monika truly depends on what context the characters are given. Are we talking about non-sentient Monika x Mc? Bc that can be pretty fun. If we are talking about sentient Monika x Mc, i see a very interesting dynamic (not a particularly good one) where Monika is basically using Mc as a vessel for the player in her desperation. Can Mc feel this dynamic? Does he understand in some way that he’s the second choice, even if he doesn’t know the truth about their world? How does it affect him? Its fun to ponder about this ig, but it doesn’t really make for a healthy relationship

Then the side stories came out, where the characters evolved from their one-dimensional tropes into actual personalities with enticing dynamics between them and i was immediately sold. That being said, i still don’t really have an OTP per say, bc as stated before all of them could work out. Which is definitely bc of how we get to see each of them interact individually in each side story. In every side story, we see each character interact with the other and learn how to grow as individuals because of it. I could see each pairing happening individually, i could see them being a poly couple, maybe even a qpr, or just a very close friend group too! There is a lot of love between the characters, whether that is romantic, platonic or something in between im not 100% certain on, but the love is definitely there.

Anyway, you also asked what my favourite ship would be, and i’ll probably say Sayonika since most of the media I consume tends to be with them

How do I imagine Jake?

(Please refrain from reading this if you haven't completed the game as this contains some spoilers. :) I recommend you to finish the game and come back to read this after).

I imagine Jake as a reserved personality. I imagine his life to be difficult and much of a loner. That's why he's easily feeling shy.

He prefers to appear mysterious because he needs to maintain his identity a secret, being chased by the government and all, he appears creepy to most others but he doesn't feel scary or creepy at all to MC. Most probably because he helps MC with many hacking perks from the very beginning to help them in finding the suspect. And he also shows how he only trusts MC and is willing to work together with them so MC sees him as a partner not as someone who is scary or creepy at all (despite all the questionable hacked sources ofc). ;) Ofc there are many things about him that are still mysterious to MC and let's hope MC can know more about him. Only to MC especially. :)

He doesn't show his emotion much except when he's with MC so most probably he's an introvert person who will warm up with certain ppl whom he is already familar and feeling close with. Just like how he is with Hannah.

I think Jake is also a curious person. He's curious because MC is like an "X" factor that remains as something unpredictable and surprising to him in so many aspects and layers. He also really appreciates and respect MC. One of the reasons is because he learns many things about MC that he finds endearing to him. For one, he tried to half force MC into the problem He's in and MC has every chance they have to ignore but they choose not to. Next, MC even indirectly, if not directly, defends him from the group and keep his identity and any information about him safe from anyone. MC never blames Jake too much about the problem that comes after. Next, Jake seemed like he never really worked with a partner that he feels close to him before and I mean not physically close but psychologically and he's surprised that he feels that way about MC. (Tbh I didn't expect to fall in love with his character too).

Through these qualities Jake deems MC as a valuable partner he can trust.

He's also a secretly caring and a romantic person. Many times when MC was in trouble he jumped in and helped out without being asked. He also can suddenly type out something or do something that's just simply romantic out of nowhere. That random "Do you like chinese" question and statement about it reminds him of MC. Also how he just blurt out about how his mind can't focus on his task cause his mind always flies back to MC. I find it as romantic, but how he says it in a non flirty and non cringe kind of way... It does tremendous damage to my heart, ack. I find it so charming. (Yes, I'm a sucker for someone who can show that he cares in a non cringey way).

Up to this point, we can assume Jake as someone who can't control his feelings specifically, love. But he seems to be a calm and collected person, usually, maybe unless when it comes to love. :) Remember how he's annoyed because phil called MC for help and he admitted, "Yes. I'm not usually like this."

Accompanying his caring personality is his protective behavior. He protects MC from his pursuers, he created Nymos 💙 He is also so very determined in preventing MC from going to Duskwood at any cost. Also He finds it hard to turn his back on Hannah's case and even if he tried to cut any contact with Hannah, when she asked him for help, he finds it hard to refuse. Does he have hero complex, hmm not really, more like he has the protagonist qualities.

I think he's actually not a brave person inside, that's why he is charmed by how brave MC was pictured in the story. He's afraid of losing someone he loves. But despite not being brave enough, he always tries to act strong and put up a brave front.

When he loves someone he seems to be the type that is gonna go all out or nothing. I give it my all or I don't go at all. :)

I also imagine him as the type who won't easily fall in love. He fell for MC under very exceptional case which makes his love feel exceptional and rare. Maybe he secretly believes in destiny and that he will meet the one for him.

He's also loyal and ofc as we all know, extremely smart. He's mostly rational and not emotional except for some cases that involve people who are important to him.

He's not selfish. He honestly doesn't want to drag people to his mess that's why he pushed away MC at first because he knows it's dangerous to be with him.

I also imagine him as someone who can't be easily impressed by others. (Only when you do very exceptional thing that would impress him, ofc MC always impresses him, but hey Thomas did impress him too, once, if I'm not mistaken).

He's awkward with crowds. He often doesn't know the right words to say so he keeps it short and straightforward. He claimed to be able to handle bad guys and bad situations better ;)

He is honest except for things he needs to keep secret because he thinks it's to protect someone or keeping someone safe. So he does keep secrets but all the things he ever said is honest and the truth. Because everytime MC said "you're keeping something from me aren't you?" He never denies it. So he's not a liar.

He's pretty nerdy too :) why, because he rarely says anything except for the case they're working on or when he's explaining stuff that he's found and he's interested in (flashbacks to when he talks about the history of ironsplinter mine in long lines to MC, lol.)

He's very observant. Maybe part of the perks for being very smart and having a curious mind.

He's not good at reading people but he can take hints and not completely clueless.

He's stubborn alright. He needs some convincings if you want him to do otherwise. And there will be no discussion if it's a matter of MC's safety.

Yes, you read it right, Jake is NOW OFFLINE. :)

He also has a cute quirk, unique, and special talent for understatements. :D when we told him he was surrounded by his pursuers he just said "This is not good."

I find how he's always typing his words in a formal/serious sentence and ending them with a period as something that is not awkward at all. It's charming and hot. :) And his smileys, and his 'haha.' And 'hehe.' Aaaaa..

So yes, he is a cool, charming, closet romantic introvert kind of person with all those qualities I have mentioned above which make him this complete personality, the Duskwood Hacker Jake that we all come to love. 💙

disclaimer: i have ADHD and a lot of this is based on my own experiences. it's just my opinion and a fun way to take a look at this character in a new light.

shoutout to this post which inspired this. these are SFW except for a few jokey jokes

without further ado:

he's pretty hyperactive and it shows up in a lot of ways. thrill seeking (bullseyeing womp rats in my t16!) is definitely one of them, but i also just think he has a very hard time being still. he's constantly fidgeting - bouncing his legs, drumming the table, tapping his toes.

when he learns how to meditate it's a huge moment. he's finally able to quiet his mind, which has always felt like a speeder racing through the sands.

he likes to draw/doodle to maintain attention in strategy meetings. they tend to be filled with straight lines and a little sketchy, but can sometimes be quite detailed

he misses social cues sometimes. he's pretty great with people, but sometimes they'll make a joke or a saying and he'll completely miss it, or take it hyper literally

(yes this would lead to HILARIOUS innuendo potential)

do you want luke to talk to you for HOURS? ask about his special interests!

he knows LITERALLY EVERYTHING about ships. like to an absurd degree. he probably lectures han constantly about proper upkeep for the falcon

but he probably also has really random, unexpected ones and just blurts out fun facts anywhere he goes. (honestly i could see one of his love languages being fun facts.)

ofc he's pretty impulsive. (hello ESB.) part of his evolution as a jedi is learning to control his impulses; learning to evaluate them, to stop and think before he acts.

he has sensory processing issues but in unexpected ways. i think of it more as a hyper-sensitivity to the Force.

here's an example. so as a Rebellion soldier, i think this would be at its worst after a large battle/dogfight. he would definitely be (sub)consciously picking up all of the heightened emotions - fear, relief, grief, elation. the Force would probably be going insane and he would be picking up on it ALL

especially before his jedi training, it's a whole lot to deal with all at once and very confusing. in this way, it'd present similar to sensory processing issues. he'd struggle especially with sound; if things are too loud he'd just shut down. after a battle he needs a blanket a hot drink and sleep <3 (also maybe sex)

he struggles with properly articulating how he feels. he can get flustered easily and feel like the words won't quite make it out, or that his brain is working far faster than he can process.

he's not naturally inclined to routine but thrives in it. he always wakes up early partially out of habit and partially because he finds it comforting

Hi! So, as someone who loves the relationship between Bart and Edu, and Bart in general, I wanna ask; do you have any headcanons regarding Bart’s Spanish level? Like, does he only know a couple of words? Does he know enough to hold an easy conversation, even if slowly and with a strong accent? Does he unabashedly flirt in Spanish with Edu and call him “mi sol” (my sun) right in front of Dr. Dorado!? Like, I have so many ideas. Please and thank you

yes !! I actually do thank you for asking <33

Personally I feel like Bart would broadly be fluent in terms of understanding Spanish. Lesser so in speaking it because of lack of practice rather than lack of trying. It’s not intentional it’s just that I believe it’s what makes sense for the way he probably learned it i.e largely from exposure of his surrounding of what he hears from both Ed (and Jaimes especially in the early years) home surrounding and consuming spanish speaking media as well. He’s probably incredibly bored in spanish class (which HC yes he takes) which whilst it helps him improve his understanding of the syntax of the language, probably doesn’t do much in terms of his capabilities like vocabulary where he benefitted mainly from exposure (one of the best ways to learn a language). He hasn’t had much reason to consistently practice it to the point of being fluent verbally, because the spanish speakers mostly speak english most of the time he’s there.

i think he definitely knows enough to hold a simple conversation, and he tries his best with pronunciation (unless he’s purposefully trying to be annoying) and of course as with all things, his speed and perception of time probably helps him linguistically too.

and of course he’d like to impress edu so yes to the sweet names and all.

in terms of flirting, lmfao honestly i feel like any “public” flirting bart does with ed is more with humorous intentions and any genuinely bold flirting he does is more private between them. He’d be shy to do that publicly. I feel like Ed is more capable for bold flirting publicly (he can get embarrassed too ofc but it doesn’t stop him 😂). Honestly probably overanalysing things lol but with how Ed is in the show, generally very outspoken and bold, frequently talks to masses of people in the MHYC, very social etc, i just feel like he would be more bold that way too. Bart is bold, social and outspoken as well but he’s generally sneakier from what weve seen so that just makes me feel like he’s more inclined to be a little shyer with some things. Pet names i don’t consider too bold though so I’m sure Bart could sweetly refers to Edu as his Sun (so sweet omg) infront of his dad who probably finds it cute 😭.

i imagine though because of the differences in dialects Bart is probably exposed to there’s room for confusion too.

I loved Love is Blind originally for the cringe. But it's honestly such a great commentary on gender relations. I don't really watch any other reality TV shows so I don't know if this is common in other love/relationship type of reality shows.

But some of the themes I've noticed and I love to talk about these with men specifically:

- two season have had a woman ruin relationship over her own insecurity. I remember Zanab originally came across as the man making her insecure. But when you continue watching it you realize that she's letting her body image issues / eating disorder issues guide the way she sees the relationship. Especially that clementine clip that she built up all the way to the reunion. Yes Cole wasn't good at soothing her issues. But she is a grown woman now she has to work on her issues and communicate that. Like this was the first time I actually felt bad for the man

- in the current season, Chelsea did a whole pickme thing where she realizes that Jimmy is into Jessica. And Chelsea knows what Jessica looks like. She is connecting with Trevor better. But JUST in order to win over Jessica/her looks/to get picked over a woman who looks like jessica, she tells that pink caryon looking dude that she looks like Megan Fox. So that he would pick her over. For Chelsea this was like, she won one over. And then the rest of the relationship is ruined because of this. And she even tells the guy he's the hottest guy on the beach etc cos she wants that kind of comments in return which he is not giving. The rest of it is on him ofc cos he's not into her. So he's disrespecting her which in return is creating more insecurity for her

- clocking matt as crazy just from those eyes even though Jessica got the crazy edit in which season that was. Like he just doesn't come across off as a genuine person even though with his words he's saying things like "I love and respect you Jessica. I learned so much from you" etc

Ofc all of this is speculation of the inner workings but I 💯 feel like that's what was going through Chelsea's mind

I find this kind of stuff interesting and funny. Guessing what someone's internal motivations are based on their behavior

There's someone on tiktok that was doing a joke about LiB. It's a dude explaining to his guy friend who doesn't watch it, all the connections and who likes whom. And this guy tells him, oh Chelsea picked Jimmy over Trevor. And the other guy goes, "oh she picks someone who isn't sure about her over a guy who is sure about her. I am now certain she doesn't look like Megan Fox". And I went 😮 at this man's ability to read this woman Chelsea who he hasn't even seen or observed cos he didn't watch the show.

Because yes you can absolutely read people or their state of mind based on their behaviours, particularly if their behaviors are incongruent with what they are saying they are or portraying themselves to be.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. I get told a fair bit that I'm a good read on people. And especially when I talk about my dating life and being able to discern qualities in men that I want. E.g. whether they watch porn or not.

first i wanted to say that i'm one of the people that found out about the fact that aplatonic people as just as real as aros and aces (and i'm actually aroace-spec, talk about lacking info about your community) from your blog so thank you for that information:)) it really brings even more nuance to how complex people truly are

secondly, and the thing i wanted to really say, bc i started to immediately think about it, is that the aplatonic identity intersects so much with neurodiversity (hello again, a fellow autistic here). like one of the more-known autistic traits that sometimes helps people realize that they are not neurotypical is that they have a hard(er) time navigating social situations (or that it doesn't come as naturally to them as it seems to be for the allistics (non-autistics) and they have to make a small or big conscious effort to learn those skills and understand how those things work (not a case for all autistics out there but for a lot of us)). it is even one of the main criteria for receiving a formal diagnosis (yes them doctors like to put a diagnosis based on a person's deficits) and it makes you wander.

is it a rule for autistics to have a hard(er) time navigating/establishing/maintaining or even desiring friendships or is it not necessarily related? the social struggle is more common than not amongst us, ofc, but if people can be aplatonic regardless of their neurotype, as they can have any queer identity, or none at all, then how many people are, yet again, misjudged? how many are confused/mistreated/misunderstood bc of this? the system has failed the people yet again. but also this proves that there is still so much information so many of us lack and bc of it we make inaccurate presumptions.

so yeah, ty for this information... and ty for reading (and sharing?) my rant :))) maybe someone will relate:)) (i will now proceed to ruminate more on the subject)

Glad to hear this blog was helpful, Anon! It's definitely an interesting question, while aplatonic people can be both neurotypical and neuradivergent that I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out there's a correlation between being neurodivergent or autistic and being aplatonic. Especially since there has been shown correlations between asexuality and aromanticism with neurodivergency.

You see I get what you mean, but for me it's less to do with time and more to do with what they spent the time they had doing. I really don't understand why AT feels the need to shove Shermy and Beth into everything. Also I really don't understand why they thought the best way to make a grown ass 50-something year old man who survived the apocalypse and 1000 years of trauma learn that his relationship wasn't perfect was through a video game. And I really don't understand why the crew thought the best way to showcase this was to literally spell it out to the audience like we are toddlers (especially since F&C is supposed to be for an older audience apparently). I agree with the conclusion, but I really hate how it was executed.

I like what the show was going for, again I completely agree with the conclusion it came to, just the way it got to said conclusion was incredebly underwhelming and frustrating for me T_T (also big agree on Simon's main flaw being his insecurities and how passive he was in his relationship with Betty, to a point where he didn't do enough to prevent her from hurting herself)

Yes!! I love indie animation (indie anything rly)

Obviously I'm fimilar with the big two (The Amazing Digital Circus Helluva Boss) however my favorite indie animated series are actually The Vampair Series, Threnody and ENA !!! Ofc, I also love watching indie short films or other such shorter animations on YouTube (I actually have a playlist of some of my favorite animations/animatics on YouTube if you wanna check that out)

Oh and I'm following the development of One of The Powerful! It's a series made by only one person, and those ones always impress me so hard. (if you are interested the creator recently made a series development blog on Tumblr! @oneofthepowerful)

Honestly, one-man-team type animated series are super cool to me. Sch Ribbit is another artist/animator who made their own series just out of their sheer passion, and he was always a huge inspiration to me growing up! (an example of stuff they'd make is their Jaden Unshaked series. even though it's scrapped and a bit old, I still find it super cool!!)

But yeah I love indie animation!

Thank you for asking anon! I've def been doing better lately! Gonna be real, late fall/early winter wasnt the kindest to me (I was sick for a long while and then the seasonal depression hit where I wasn't going outside at all, and till relatively recently I was barely socializing and was just girlrotting in bed all day. A mix of social battery dying out but also generally feeling rly drained), but I do feel a lot better now! I'm getting back on track. I just felt like I needed to in that instance, mostly to make other ppl aware in the fandom that "hey if all it took for this person to blow up and start being transphobic and just generally cruel was a drawing of a GNC cishet couple, they'll likely be even worse if they encounter actual trans art or art made by trans ppl, probably block them if you wanna avoid them doing this to you". But yeah usually I avoid responding to ppl like this, I've been online for long enough to know it's not worth it (I've learned through trail and error XD I used to respond to everything when I was younger. I have no idea why you’re reading this after seeing the title, but hey, here we are. 

Anyways, welcome to the hellhole that is my Tumblr page. I literally just started this blog because I was hella bored and I needed to do smth in the moment. And there it was, my first post. Of course, it barely got any attention from ppl, but I still carried on and somehow ended up here. 

Some things to know abt me (stop reading, I’m blushing 🤭):

- If you couldn’t tell, I love Team Fortress 2! I started playing in early 2022 after my friend showed me a shitload of the “Meet the Team” videos (and yes, that includes the parody ones.) 

- Most of the time, I literally have no idea what I’m doing, but ig that’s ok because I get clout anyways (I’m a very greedy person lmao)

- I play the saxophone! Alto to be exact. I plan to play jazz in the future as a side job besides art (that is, if I get into the art industry in the first place) I also play the piano, but that’s more of a hobby.

- I am a Christian person. And a firm believer at that, so that means I follow Christian beliefs. And you have other beliefs, respects to you! Someone’s “labels” shouldn’t describe who they are as a person!

- I love learning about WWII! This topic is probably the only thing that’s running in my brain for 75% of the time. You don’t wanna know what the other 25% is.

- I am in your walls. Run. Now. Before I take your dog. (If you didn't have one, who's dog did I sacrifice then???)

- Besides God himself, I worship the almighty hot dog scout. Praise him in this glorious form.

my platonic polyamory

polyamory as an aroace is fuckin wild

(i say this as someone who fluctuates in and out of their ace label. some days I'm ace, other days I'm allo. it's confusing and wild and probably has a lot to do with medication rn. anyhow, i have a lot of empathy and personal understanding for each side of that spectrum.)

i made a post a while back that was something along the lines of "my version of polyamory is just holding hands w all my friends"

and like, yes

to expand upon that, bc that definition is still pretty loose, i think I'm coming to better terms with the word "platonic."

not every aro person is alloplatonic and i probably am alloplatonic but I'm also a recovering people pleaser and i think that contributed a ton to my struggle to feel close to friends (not the only struggle by a longshot but still)

somehow my closest friends have also been people who are neurodivergent, which says a lot for my own neurodivergency: an aspect i often overlook or forget bc i was diagnosed as an adult, so i spent forever framing my life that way, so ofc I'd forget i have ADHD and "oh that's why I do that!!!" happens a lot.

but like. back to "platonic."

i never understood platonic attraction when i first heard of it. i heard the term squish and was like "wut." i understood what it meant for other people and I respected that but i never ever felt like i had a friend crush on anyone. i had crushes that were aesthetic and sexual but never platonic that i was aware of. maybe i wanted platonic things to come along naturally but idk. i don't recall ever looking at someone and thinking "ah yes i want to be their friend so badly!" i don't think i experience that, and if i do, it's demiplatonic, which is hilarious if you think about it, because that requires that I'm ALREADY FRIENDS with someone before i realize how much i want to be friends with them. and that's if that happens at all.

yeah, no, most of the time i just enjoy hanging out with my friends and doing normal friend stuff but once I'm done doing that I'm done and I'm off to my own stuff again. i enjoy being out in public and i have a social job so i like being in social environments to get my people time indirectly, and friend time can be a nice way to relax and explore, but often times I'm just meh? like it's cool but also mm ok. i just do things with people based on how interested they seem in hanging out with me and how much i enjoy hanging out around them and whether we get along during our planned hangouts. seems weird to type it out that way, but that's how my brain operates. kind of how my mind works for sex as well, but that's a different post.

but platonic used to be kind of a dull word for me. like, it really lacked the excitement that romantic held for me, especially in terms of the books I'd read or the movies I'd watch. they were so much more exciting and always filled with some kind of fantasy adventure if i could manage to find that genre. i loved that stuff. it was about people who came to really know and understand and care about each other through their journey and they overcame things together, or they overcame things by applying what they learned from each other. i thought that was the best damn thing ever.

fast forward to me learning I'm aro. and now I'm looking back at all those relationship dynamics in the stories and movies i enjoyed, minus the unearned, not priorly verbally discussed romantic elements, and I'm like OH SO THAT'S WHAT PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS ARE.

like sure I have friends who are very much acquaintances, work friends, etc. people i don't see outside of work often, people who i don't talk to very much, but people i still care about. and then there are my Friends who just AGH i will go on a whole expedition with them if they're up for it. and i love that. and some of my friendships didn't really have that foundation but have it now, some of them are still developing that, and some were like that from the start (shout out to my aro friends we are INSANE and go on adventures every damn day somehow).

but to me, Platonic is when your people go with you on quests and Tolkien-esque adventures. u can't change my mind.

OKOKOK so. first off

this post goes over the basic lore as well as my ocs (at the time anyway) and m gonna tell you about my NEW ocs

i dont remember if i entioned them in that post but THE TWINS ... stormclouds overhead and rising birds. storms was the local group senior, but he suffered a mechanical failure and a little less than 1/3 of his can collapsed. after he collapsed a clan of slugcats moved in and he was like "huh. everyone else seems to enjoy using these Beastes for work, what if i get them to function as my memory" (bcs he lost a lot of memory + processing power in his collapse) so he does!! and he gives them all names. the group is collectively called the Library of Storms and it's headed by two twigs who is aweso,e

then rising birds!! she is storms' twin (kinda? they consider themselves to be twins but they're not Actually twins, they were just built at similar times) and storms gave his seniority to hir after his collapse.

bcs of a dispute in her city over ascension methods that eventually turned into a war she was forced to subdue, birds is very security minded. she's especially worried about a situation where an iterator 'goes rogue' and starts trying to harm the others, and she spends a lot of her free time running simulations on various ways to kill an iterator, etc etc. even though she's very upbeat and positive, she is VERY strategic. if you know tma at all, she'd 1000% be a web avatar. rising birds is incredibly forgiving and nice but it is an incredibly bad idea to get on her bad side she's awesoe <3

so. in game there are beasts called Miros Birds and Miros Vultures which are biomechanical and DANGEROUS AS HELL they're fucking terrifying.

the problem is that they can't fit in small gaps. if a beast goes in a small gap it's completely safe, and birds can't have that! if she makes a beast that can go in small gaps and kill readily, she'll be able to protect any area, forever. she starts with a slugcat.

her first try yields some decent result. it's got the black colouring of a miros bird, the bright, yellow eyes, it's very powerful, although it unfortunately isn't as aggressive as she needs it to be, and it's very skittish.

one thing she doesn't notice is the unintentional chronic illness she's given it. it's prone to seizures separate from its photosensitivity due to its powerful eyes, and it can't eat certain foods. by the time she realises what happened, it's escaped her can, and she can't find a way to bring it back.

(it does come back though and its very happy to be back home with its mum)

AND THEN. 7 CROWNS OF BONE I LOVE HIM ....

7 crowns of bone is one of few iterators who genuinely loved and cared for the ancients. he adored them, and was super sad when they all ascended.

over time though he learned about the various, mainly pointless and trivial restrictions they'd put on iterators, and slowly began to feel betrayed, and then upset, and then angry.

his faux-hatred didn't come until the sinkhole though.

see, a sinkhole's opened up beneath his can. there... isn't much he can do. it's going to swallow him sooner or later.

he checks his logs. it's pointless; why the hell would there be anything useful about a freaking sinkhole in his logs?

but there is.

there is a log, authored by his administrator, about the high likelihood of a sinkhole opening beneath his can.

the discussion comes around to preventative measures. one of his citizens - a well-known one, a saint revered and in high authority - is positing that there could be horizontal supports to partially or fully support him.

"well, by the time it opens we probably won't be around to worry about it," his administrator says. the table laughs. they begin discussing trivial bullshit, about some moral code or another. he-

he doesn't hate his administrator. he can't hate his administrator. even now the taboos are stopping him from some trivial, morally neutral action. he is so, so tired.

now, luckily for bone the sinkhole doesn't tear him apart or anything but his can isn't having a great time.

earlier than this, there was a small group of slugcats. travellers. whilst most of them are not familiar with iterators, they know of their cans, and it's a point of significant pride to climb an iterator clan on your own.

this one is young when they try for the first time. they barely make it up one of the legs.

they're older, almost an adult, when they try again. it is raining, it is pouring, but they know as they climb the rain will cease. they'll break through the cloud layer and all will be well.

they do not see the part of the flux condenser coil hurtling towards them, in their climb, until it is too late. the impact discharges the electricity within, and to this slugcat, they are struck by lightning.

they manage to get down safely, but by then it's almost unbearable on the surface. in their peril trying to find a shelter they go deep, deep underground, getting lost in the twisting caves, and finally finding shelter, safety, falling asleep near instantly.

this scug is called The Fallen and theyre DOPE their body's basically healed around the coil and now they have electricity powers and also glow. eventually they find bones' can, far under the earth, and unintentionally revive him by providing charge to his can. it's cool
