Anyways I just want to say one of my least favorite things in cdramas thusfar is the plot armor/plot nerf. wkx and zzs both down from one singular blow? for a guy they've fought a few times? ((the wens eradicating all of lotus pier with ZERO casualties on their side?? im still salty)) anyways they definitely could have lasted longer.

My stance on hunter nerfs, as it's been for several seasons now, is that there just aren't a lot of good hunters that don't rely on survivor mistakes so nerfing the good ones is really just reducing the number of viable hunters instead of actually shaking up the meta.

The current top hunters are Sculptor, Breaking Wheel, and Dream Witch.

Sculptor is the best hunter in the game because of how adaptable she is, she's got chase and camp and map pressure. She shouldn't be buffed. However, she's kitable. Kiting a Sculptor takes actual skill, yes, but that doesn't make her too strong. It just means survs have to practice against her and pay attention. She loses a fair amount in tournament bc survivors are just good at dealing with her.

Breaking Wheel is an extremely risky hunter. If you can't get quick spikes and damage you need insolence to get presence. In communication teams, their map pressure is counterable. Their best maps all have areas which hard counter their chase. The nerfs have done their work- BW cannot rely on full presence to get every down. BW also shouldn't be buffed. They counter a lot of meta survs. They also lose and tie frequently in tournament bc again, they're risky and require a lot of practice to use properly.

Dream Witch has the best map pressure in the game, but her chase is terrible. She relies on Patroller nowadays, which is an awful and counterable skill (skip the animation by vaulting or throwing pallets!). Dream Witches regularly get 3 cipher kited in tournaments and their map pressure gets countered by good coordination and de-leeching. She is also hard countered by several high tier survivors like Psychologist, Seer, Prisoner, and Mercenary. She has an extremely high win *potential,* but without a breakdown in communication and coordination its really hard for her to snowball a game the way she used to (even before her big nerf, she was starting to tie and lose in tournament bc survs just learned how to deal with her). Again, not saying she should be buffed.

Any other high tier hunters are like. Tie hunters. Bloody Queen and Bonbon. Meanwhile survivors have more top tiers than available bans - Mech, Mercenary, Forward, Psychologist, Patient, Seer, Priestess, Batter, Prisoner, etc. Hunters have 3, and they're by no means consistent.

Im not saying you can't nerf Sculptor - but if you want to take her out of the meta, there has to be hunters to take her place bc she's not like old Dream Witch, an automatic 4-kill in tourney, you can deal with her. She loses often.

Or, yknow. NE could actually nerf cipher rush they way they've been promising for like a year. That would put other hunters back on the table! Too many hunters are just slow to get kills and don't have map pressure, and selling on chair give them a tie at best. If ciphers were slower they might have a shot at coming back into meta, and then nerfing top hunters would be more okay bc there's other viable hunters.

Anyway didn't mean for the tone of this to be salty so sorry if it came across like that! I just worry every time I'm like "hunter nerf bad" that people are gonna come after me so I thought I'd explain my thinking this time.

Also, I don't think this nerf will stop Sculptor from being meta! I just think it's unnecessary bc she's already kitable.

I just...love how people absolutely hate support mains. Especially Symmetra and Mercy because they ‘take no skill’ (aka they don’t have to aim so obviously that means you have no skill if you play them). Like, yes, Mercy was (and honestly still is) the most picked healer in most matches. Why? Because she’s the only one that does serious healing. Lucio, Anna, and Zenn could all be fantastic healers if Blizzard would give them the chance to be. The problem is, Blizzard listens to all of the DPS mains who bitch and whine about the support heroes constantly until they get nerfed (they do this to tanks too. Look at DVA and Roadhog, but I’m fired up about Mercy right now so.).

Like, personally, I’m a Tracer main, but I’ve been maining Mercy in competitive because nobody else will play her. Which, really wasn’t that bad? I actually started to really enjoy playing her, her ultimate was game changing, and she had a much more major effect on the game than she does now.

But, bitchy whiny DPS mains (I’m sure other people were too, but DPS tends to make up the largest pool of players and I’ve really only heard DPS mains telling me I’m just a no-skill player because I hate the Mercy changes) kept complaining about her rezzing their multikills (which...is the point. That’s the fucking point of the rez.) and Blizzard decided she was too OP. 

There were probably better ways to solve this issue than giving Mercy a complete rework (which, honestly? Should have just been made into a new character. The Valkyrie ultimate would have been a really cool ultimate for a new support hero that Overwatch could actually use.), it’s a little late for me to give out any suggestions, but drastically changing her so abruptly? It’s a really shitty thing to do, because it forces you to relearn an entire character. This Mercy change didn’t just give her a different ability or alter her ult a little, it literally made her a new character.

I have several issues with this. First of all, rather than assessing the situation as a whole and wondering “why does everyone pick Mercy as their healer?” and answering with “obviously she’s too OP, we need to change something” rather than “maybe our other support heroes aren’t as good as they should be” is a big problem. The other healing support heroes don’t put out the healing that Mercy does at a time. I’ve been outhealed by a Lucio on a few occasions, but it was only because I was getting killed over and over again because my team wouldn’t protect me. Secondly, Blizzard claimed that they’re changing Mercy because she was leaving the field and neglecting to heal in order to get big rezes so, obviously, they want to fix her healing by...increasing the damage and rate of fire on her gun? Yeah...sure. Okay. That definitely makes her heal ??? 

It’s really frustrating as someone who came to love this character, but honestly just...can’t play her anymore. She’s not fun. She’s a chore. You only play her because your team needs a healer, not because she’s enjoyable to play anymore. People are constantly screaming at you to rez them, people get pissed off when you use your ultimate and die immediately, people get pissed when you try to utilize the DPS function of Valkyrie (because, let’s be honest, that’s the only fun part about playing her anymore) rather than the “chain healing” (that doesn’t work very well, everyone’s usually way to spread out for it to do anything), you die whenever you try to rez because everyone pushes out really far and you get killed getting them back up and people yell at you for that, etc. etc. It’s just stressful and annoying and I’m straight up not going to play her anymore. Next comp season I’m going for Tracer or D.Va and I really don’t care if we need a healer. I’m not dealing with it. If Blizzard wants people to play supports then make them fun instead of a fucking chore.

It’s like 1 AM and I’m a little too tired to coherently write anymore, but there’s some of my rage at the shitstorm that is Mercy right now.
