The Shaw Pack attending William’s clan balls, this years theme being a masquerade in the Victorian era. I’m talking feathers, corsets, top hats (just Asher tho), fans, lacy gloves with matching umbrellas- all that jazz. Yes we’re all having a good ass time, but this would most likely take place after HBS 2022, so it’s angst hour babeyyy.

Asher is hammered as fuck and David’s trying to wrangle him out of the Photo Booth with Sam and Darlin, so Angel decided to leave him to it and wander off on their own. The classical music (Bridgerton soundtrack covers for reference), entrancing them to approach the dance floor as a delicate hand catches theirs and spins them backwards into a waltz.

He feels like Vincent- these two aren’t exactly familiar- they don’t have anything against the guy, so they go along with it. However, it isn’t until he’s whispering against their neck when they feel something is terribly- terribly wrong. “He’s created quite the spectacle of an appearance tonight, that alpha of yours. Hasn’t he, Angel?”

Everyone’s too wound up with herding Asher away from the bar to notice the death grip Quinn has on David’s mate. That’s all it takes to get Angels elbow into this guys side, effectively ripping themselves from his grip to reach the bathroom and slam the door shut- fumbling with the lock as their hands tremble. He must’ve bitten them at some point- their neck is sore. Or was it the angle he was holding them at, they weren’t sure. But they wanted out of here- now.

The shipping real life people thing is something that is becoming more and more prevalent in every fandom recently, it's just so weird. People aren't content in shipping the characters anymore, they have to have some fantasy that the actors are together in real life as well. This happened this past year with Queen Charlotte, Little Mermaid, Hunger Games (Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth), it happened last year with Jonny and Simone with a lot of people saying he must be bi because of their chemistry, and it's happening again with Matt and Jonny.

The other day I even saw a tiktok where someone was telling people not to harass Luke Newton's girlfriend because I think a friend of his posted some pics of them kissing at a New year's party, and in the comments there were some people saying they were disappointed in him because it's disrespectful to Nicola to "flaunt" his relationship a few months before promo starts and that he should keep it discreet, which is completely baffling to me, how is it disrespectful to her that he is in a relationship? They don't need to sell a fantasy that they're together to promote Bridgerton, they're gonna talk about their characters.

People need to learn boundaries and separate the real from the fictional. Is it super common for people to get together or have affairs after playing love interests on a film or tv show? Yes, these people are getting up close and personal with each other for multiple hours a day for months on end, a lot of times away from their family and friends, it's inevitable that in some cases something is gonna happen, but it's also their jobs, and it's clearly not the case every time, and the speculation always ends up a little disrespectful to the people involved and their real life partners, and can end up ruining friendships between these people because they don't feel comfortable interacting with each other because they know it will be hyper analyzed.

I get my tea from tumblr and occasionally facebook and instagram. And things over here have been pretty normal. So I don't see it really. To my eyes, Polin has been getting the right ammount of attention. Or maybe it's just me, the polin fan, who sees polin everywhere.

Benophie fans have a right to ask for Sophie, in the same way there was an outcry for Kate before and during Season 1. we got a casting in mid March, but still the fans wanted to make themselves heard.

And Polin's season wasn't that surprising for most of us. With the amount of screentime they got in s1 and s2, were' all very aware that Polin's season is in fact s3. What with the amount of promotion they're getting. (My HC is that the rest of the Bridgerton actors who are available for promotions, are camera shy and not as used to being in interviews as Nicola) .

The polin season is getting a lot of hype. here in tumblr, heck, I'm riding that train on a normal day with my 146 project. Because they were in s1 and s2 and people want to see the conclusion of that love story in s3. Benophie on another hand is a love story that hasn't even started. It's normal for fans to be curious about who Sophie will be casted as.

Benedict is a fan favorite yes, but so is Eloise, people aren't more curious about her love story because we already know what her love interest is like. Chris Fulton will one day make a heck of a romantic lead for Claudia Jessie but that's some years in the future and we are satisfied with those breadcrums. With Sophie, what happens is that we don't know who her actress will be or what the character will be molded as. so the outcry of the fans is to get a face to put with the character. I think that's a reasonable thing.

It's giving... absolute ignorance to one of the world's most trailblazing authors not to mention the fact that Julia Quinn no doubt was inspired by Jane Austen's work when she was writing her own (I would be flabbergasted if somehow Julia Quinn had never read a Jane Austen novel or watched any of the adaptions since they're classics, like even if you're not a fan you're at least aware of them). It blows my mind that these grown women could be so tone deaf. Like yes by all means Bridgerton is a series for a modern audience but you don't have to shit on Jane Austen who laid the ground work for stories like Julia Quinn's to be told in the first place.

It’s just annoying to me because I can’t remember how many fans I saw saying those clips yesterday were leaked like no they weren’t? guys... im at it again. catching up on trends that are WAYYY past due.

my coworkers and i talked a lot at work today bc it was so chill and the boss was gone, and we got to talking about bridgerton. and i didnt watch it bc i ( i know silly me) didnt want to jump on the trending train when it first came out and i wasnt sure if i was quite interested in that sort of tv yet.

also, i feel like this second episode just makes me totally root for women even more!! it’s so funny how daphne’s mother wont go down without a fight for her daughter and having her back. the fact she got her maids to gossip with the old man’s maid, get the TEAAAA, and be like “we’re gonna do what women do best.. talk” like YES BITCH!!! get that gossip going and kick this old guy TO THE CURB!!! it’s catty and silly but yeah WOMEN ARE THE BEST and no way could it have been done so clever than how us ladies know how to get any type of news to spread around. especially during that time!!

its crazy to me how back then it was the men who decided who their daughters/sisters could marry!! REDICULOUS if i was told i had to marry someone twice my senior, id be like hell no!

the way brother bridgerton totally COCKBLOCKED daphne from all those CUTE SUITORS was making me so mad in the beginning. but it was that era and i still cant wrap my head around that back then it was okay to do that!!

but now i am totally understanding the hype around simon hastings. although he may not seem to care about daphne but when he stands up for her at times WHEWWWW it gets me going. when he pummeled that old guy i was like YES MAN GIVE HIM MORE TO CRY ABOUT!!!

all in all i am now a fan of bridgerton. i get it.

except.... the only thing that makes me laugh is the modernized orchestrated pop songs.... i cant get into that. like seriously?? why not make just actual classical music? lolol

Day 6 - Bath, England

Bath Wednesday, August 3, 2022

Woke up bright and early to catch the early train to Bath. Hopped on the Tube, to make our way to London Paddington Station at 9:32 departure time. We made our way to the giant terminal and did some light shopping at LUSH! How I miss that bath store. I had to get my share of facemasks and scrubs before leaving to go back to Asheville. The aromatic smells in that store is seriously euphoric. I got talking to a really sweet girl who worked at LUSH for the next half hour while waiting for our train. She told me how I made her day being so nice and chatting with her (no one talks to her i guess? ) she gave me a huge tub of foot lotion and a $10 bath bomb... for FREE! It really does pay off to be nice to people :0) So i was asking her about the Londoners not talking to each other and she said they only talk to each other at the Pub when they are drunk. I have met a lot of friendly men and women on this trip and everyone is super eager to chat it up. They think American's are so very friendly . Of course we are ! HA! ;) I grabbed a quick bite at starbucks and a yummy oatmilk latte.. All coffee, tea, food, whatever tastes so much better in London. Or maybe it's because im not cooking it. At Starbucks they have a new oatmeal over there called " Overnight Oats" It was so delicious. All their silverware is wood and biodegradable. Wonder when NC is gonna get on that earth friendly trend.

We boarded the train and headed to Bath. It was a super quick trip and the tea was so good. ( I basically only had tea this entire time in London, and Will be on a english tea kick with all the cups and saucers for at least a month when I get back home ) By the time I blogged about the previous day, we were there. Our train stopped right at the Roman Baths ( pretty much ) and we were off to see the sights. Stepping off the train and into Bath felt so very magical. There were butterflies above us , and Georgian homes, Roman Baths and 1,000 year old history all around us. We walked into a main court area where there was a HUGE tree. Hundred's of years old if I had to guess. It was beautiful. The cobblestone under our feet was pretty cool too. I can't help but think who walked on these streets over the last couple hundred years. On our way to the Baths, we passed a Bridgerton location ! Genevieve Delacroix | shop! Beautiful purple flowers hung from the front decorating the two bay windows. I walked up the two steps and was magically transported to the Bridgerton set. Although the sewing, fabric and Genevieve Delacroix | were not present, the sandwiches, coffees and hustle and bustle very much were. It's amazing how they can transform the inside of a very active cafe to a seamstresses shop. Of course they had a little section of the store dedicated to Bridgeton, so I bought some tea and chocolates! Yes, a true fan ! :) We must of just missed the rain because the streets were soaking wet. The rain brought a very sweet smell through the air, and also cooled the city down a ton. It was a nice change, seeing as we've been pretty hot in London the last 6 days. Yes, next time we come to the UK i WILL remember to book a place with AC.

Roman Baths - The Roman Baths are well-preserved thermae in the city of Bath, Somerset, England. A temple was constructed on the site between 60-70AD in the first few decades of Roman Britain. 

--- We made it to the Roman Bath's around 1115 and had a quick look around. I couldn't wrap my head around how smart the Roman's were to build such a intricate working system. The bath's were a lot larger then I imaged. Looking down at the green murky waters, again my brain starts wondering "who swam here, what were the stories around the pool, was there any murders, drownings.. I can't help but think of the history that took place right under our feet.

Museum - The museum houses artefacts from the Roman period, including objects that were thrown into the Sacred Spring, presumably as offerings to the goddess. These include more than 12,000 Denari coins, which is the largest collective votive deposit known from Britain.[30] A gilt bronze head of the goddess Sulis Minerva, which was discovered nearby in 1727, is displayed.

-- I loved going into the museum and looking at all the artifacts. I couldn't help but think if anything I saw in the Thames the last week was "Roman old". It's hard to know what everything is on the shore, especially if it's cover in 2" of rust. After our tour was done ( took about an hour) we went into the gift shop where they had a nice selections of gins and mead. Picked up some souvenirs and headed to lunch !

Stopped in at at one of the BEST pizza placed i have ever been to. "The Real Pizza Company". We ordered the antipasto to start (see pic- DROOL~) and I ordered the Calabrese and Dustin ordered the "Vivace". ( See pic) 10/10 for yumminess ! https://www.realitalianpizza.co.uk/

After lunch, we continued to our own little bath to relax.. the Thermae Bath Spa (https://www.thermaebathspa.com/) . Ended up passing the Bridgerton set again, so I face timed a few "Bridgerton Fan friends "back home to show them a walk around Bath. We had a good chat for a few minutes and then we suddenly were at our next stop. We checked into the spa, was handed a robe, slippers and a blue wrist band. We were given 2 hours at the spa to swim, soak and relax.

We swam in the rooftop pool, sweated it in the sauna and poured ice chunks on our backs and legs to cool off. It was super relaxing. Before we knew it, it was time to dry off and head to the market square to get one last shopping trip in before everything closed down *( at 5-6pm) We went to a really cool outdoor store that felt a lot like Mountain Hardware. Everything was really cheap and we ended up getting quite a few things there included new backpacks, rain coats and some hiking gear. After shopping, we took a stroll around bath looking at all scenery. All around there were flags strung above our heads, connecting building to building. Ended up at Bath Abbey and just admired the beauty for a little bit. The river Avon is there and flows through the city. It makes for a wonderful little backdrop as one partakes in having a drink while waiting for your train to depart. We ended up at a cute little place called " The Hive". We had the most amazing seats right off the river. We watched the seagulls beg for food, people watched and couldn't stop talking about how lovely Bath is and how we should of spend the night here. Oh well, next time. It was almost time for our train to depart so we walked back to the station making a pit stop at " the real italian gelato" and had some yummy mint gelato ( Dustin had the mint and oreo). There's old telephone booths everywhere, and Bath has decided to plant flowers in all of them. It's super cute. While waiting for our train we stopped into a quick cocktail bar to use the bathroom and get some water. inside the ladies stall was a great little flyer " ask for angela" ( see pic ) i thought this was a GREAT IDEA ! Such a cute little bathroom and such a powerful, smart flyer.

After 2 hours on multiple trains, we were home and exhausted.

i feel like i’ve been consuming so much cheesy media these past years and i’m turning into someone i used to think is basic and has zero personality just because she enjoys whatever it is the next girl does. and i’m fine with it, im proud. it feels liberating. to finally allow myself to like stuff just because. i mean dostoevsky and kafka are great (no doubt) but sometimes that’s not what you need. like you have too much “serious” going on in your life already and what you need are some feel-good romance books, some cozy fantasy or your emotional support fanfictions. if that means i have bad taste well, okay. i also don’t feel bad now when i like stuff that i know are just really horrible— like “seriously trashed on goodreads” horrible. like ‘shiver’ for example. that book was horrible. but at the same time i like looking at it on my shelf, i like flipping through its pages. it’s horrible and i like it because i was once around 13 years old who frequents fullybooked just to look at a copy of ‘shiver’ and now after more than a decade i finally own the trilogy.

the ‘love & gelato’ movie was horrible too (but the book was great!) but i like it because that scene where lina leaves the house in the middle of the night alone in italy to eat some pastry and read her mom’s diary gives me so much comfort. so i watch it— over and over again

the bridgerton books i read were pretty bad too because of the men and their red flags. but i know netflix will fix those— so i enjoy the romance, and the simplicity and beauty of a woman marrying a rich and handsome man (because the women in these books deserve to be taken care of). so i allow myself to fangirl over colin bridgerton even if i think it’s corny and cringey to do so

i might just like the new trilogy of star wars. yes, i think it’s horrible. yes, i think disney should stop milking the star wars franchise. yes, i think they ruined luke skywalker. yes, i think they shouldn’t have made it. but i think i like it a little bit now— not because of the plot but because i read and loved a book (love hypothesis by ali hazelwood) that was initially a reylo star wars fanfic.

the ‘summer i turned pretty’ was bad. really bad. the book series and the tv series. but i like it because the summer vibes (plus all the taylor swift songs that play in the background) puts me in a really good mood (except for when i kept screaming at the book for belly to use her brain).

i think books aren’t meant to set your moral values (can you imagine if it does and you’re reading ‘lolita’). they’re meant to entertain and make you think. you set your moral values. if a book entertains you in whatever way and for whatever reason then it’s already done what it’s meant to do, even if it’s not great plotwise, even if it’s mainstream, even if it bleeds of twisted morals. ever since i saw it like that it’s been easier to like things and not judge (i mean i still struggle with not judging colleen hoover fans but we’re getting there).

if what i enjoy about a movie isn’t the plot but the vibe, i’m still allowed to like it. if what i enjoyed about a book isn’t the storyline but the feeling, well then i love it.

this probably sounds so trivial but as someone who used to be so image conscious, this is not nothing. i try to play this game now where i ask myself “do i really like this or did i just think it’s cool to like this? do i really NOT like this or did i just NOT allow myself to like this because i thought it was uncool” and it’s been fun
