you don't know happiness until a hozier song is playing in your head, your hands are grazing your lover's waist and you're kissing their cheek, they're laughing and everything in the world is perfect

Was just fucking around on IDV. Played QM as Joseph, and got a bunch of newer survivors. I needed a win for the quest I was doing so I go after them and...
4 man kill. With 4 ciphers still left.
I was watching the English chat after bc I was bored and I see someone I played with say "Just QM'ed with a Joseph, they ate and left no crumbs"
Sir please I didn't even use the camera, and you were playing Lawyer. No Doctor on the team either. There was no way I wasn't going to.

an update on what I DID do this week, because it mainly involved taxes and cleaning (I made zero progress writing, and in fact moved backwards because I decided I want the novel to be in first person...alas!)
this week, I have:
taped a bedraggled attic duct
changed a musty dusty furnace filter
boiled an ant hill
caulked a leaky creaky shower
hatcheted a stubborn tree root
defeated a threatening bush via clippers
Dug up an unwanted root with a shovel
Raked leaves...so many leaves (but it's spring batrachised! you might be saying...yes, yes it is. that is how long these leaves have been there)
did my taxes (in less than 15 minutes, I'll have ya'll know)
met a woman straight out of an lm montgomery novel who informed me the previous resident died of cancer but that it was their fault bless their heart because they spent too much time sun bathing
emailed a mother superior about yarn
what will next week hold?? hopefully some actual writing...we shall see, we shall see

lies of attrition update
summary
The trust between Ladybug and Chat Noir is stretched to breaking point when a new butterfly holder emerges in the wake of Monarque's defeat. Chat Noir doesn't know who to trust until Chrysalis confronts him with a truth Ladybug had tried to bury: Monarque made the Wish—and she wants Chat Noir’s help to undo it.
excerpt
When she landed on the rooftop, she found herself alone.
The sun hadn’t fully set, but it was far below her now. The sky was cast in the somber blue haze of dwindling daylight; light as quiet as the lonely roof and just as unsettling.
The moon was faint and not yet full, but looking up, she could see it was intact, and took comfort in its polished edges.
She let her gaze fall from the sky down into her palm, where her yo-yo still glowed with Chat Noir’s coordinates. He was there, somewhere in Montparnasse, but the echo of her footsteps on the rooftop remained unanswered. Something almost forgotten stirred in the depths of her stomach, and the taste of ash filled her mouth.
Something’s wrong.
She stood silent in the twilight fog, listening for danger and praying for a glimpse of her partner.
When she finally spotted him, though, a shadow at the edge of the world with his back facing her, she only prayed harder.
“Chat Noir?” she called out like an invocation.
He turned, but the evening was already too dim to make out his features. “Hello, Ladybug.”
She couldn’t read his expression, but his voice was flat in a way it had never been, and it should never be.
Something was wrong. She was sure of it now, but the moon was still whole and hearts were still unbroken.
chapter 9 of my and @ladyofthenoodle's collab is up!

There's so much I love about Kyle's flashback and the insight it gives on his character. We see him falling in love with fencing and looking up to his uncle and wanting so badly to be part of that world.
But with Jesse Coste for a cousin, not only does he always fall short, but it's more personal because of that relationship--he'll always be compared to Jesse by virtue of being related to him. And he's aware of it--he's heard it before and probably hears it pretty regularly even now. It would be easy to resent Jesse for always being better--for being the ideal Kyle's always being measured against.
But instead of calling Jesse names or being angry at this boy for approaching him to talk about Jesse, he answers honestly and proudly that Jesse's unbeatable--even before realizing that being related to Jesse labels him as cool too. He genuinely admires Jesse and is proud of him and to be his cousin.
And then we see too the way Kyle's identity gets wrapped up in Jesse. Kids are flocking to him excitedly calling him cool for being related to Jesse, and we all know very well how often Kyle talks about Jesse and being related to him from then on. It's clear that Kyle's feelings about Jesse are genuine, but he mentions it too much to be purely gushing--he mentions it because he's learned that people like him better for his relationship to Jesse. There's got to be some self-worth issues all tangled up in there, and I think we see the roots of it all here.

Do other Americans get kinda mad when Europeans hear about how shitty our work conditions are and then talk about how great theirs are?
American: Yeah, I only get 48 hours of sick time a year, no paid maternity leave, and also I'm bankrupt because I had breast cancer 3 years ago.
European: That's awful! I can't even imagine that, I have 6 weeks of vacation, 2 years of maternity leave, 2 weeks of sick leave, and universal healthcare!! That would never happen in my country!
American: 😒
Like I know most of them don't mean anything harmful and a lot of them are in fact trying to tell Americans we're being robbed, but it just kinda comes off as insensitive to me sometimes? Like yeah, most of us young people on the internet are fully redpilled on how badly we're being abused and exploited. Most of us are aware other countries treat their workers better. We're just scared to unionize and fight for better conditions because in most cases it ends with you losing your job.

first two people on this post (not ppl in the screencap) are trad cath & "torah follower (with yeshua) who believes in traditional biblical femininity" who are both extremely transphobic (shocking) and their og points had fatphobia bullshit so I cut off their comments bc these other two additions are really good and important to remember as we age!
practicing balance and mobility as you get older is important. you want to make sure you're able to get up off the floor in case of a fall (which was the og point). REGARDLESS of weight this should be possible, our bodies are really good at handling our weight bc not everyone is supposed to be stick thin. and if you can't, it's not because you're "unhealthy" or "overweight" it's bc your muscles and joints are out of practice w these things and they can build back up with practice
and if you still find that it's not getting easier, it's not because of your weight and you should go to a doctor to see if there's another underlying issue impairing your mobility

Something something "the first million words are practice"? (Though I'm pretty sure I've reached *that* milestone years ago considering the amount of notebooks I filled as a kid/teen.)

People do know they don't have to buy a Stanley, right? Or whatever the fuck is the current bottle people want. You got your bottle for free in an event in 2015? All the power to you, but if having a cup that matches their outfit makes someone happy, why the fuck do you care????? Are you paying for their bottle? No, you're not. The bottle will still be produced. What's the ethical problem here??? If having a blue cup, and a pink cup, and a cup that makes me look like a koala keeps me going, then it's a necessary purchase. You're not the one spending money on it so why do you care?????????
