Yellow Tang: At night, the yellow coloring fades slightly, and a prominent brownish patch develops in the middle with a horizontal white band. They rapidly regain their bright yellow color during daylight. When mating, however, males change color and have a "shimmering" behavior which makes them identifiable.
Yellow tang, like tangs do, have a white barb located near the end of its tail that it can use to defend itself! You can see it especially well when the fish turns, but it tends to stay hidden otherwise. They can marvelously change colour depending on the time of day, gaining a brown patch and a white streak at night!
this photo reminds me of the endless ocean dev who during an interview, pretty much every time he spoke he just talked about the experience he had making this game's light beams look just right, and his time observing real life ocean light beams
i hope that dev, tadanobu ohkubo, is having a good day today <3
The fins I chose for Angie are based of a Yellow Tang. I thought giving her a transparent raincoat and covering her with paint like skin marks would be cool, as she already usually wears a bikini.
