I have always enjoyed the seafood that Fish & Co dished up. They do have quite a few fish & chips varieties on the menu and the last I counted was eight. But these are the two that I usually went for when I am there - Seafood Platter for 1 and Deep-fried Swordfish Collar which I don’t find in other places.
Tumblr media
For the Deep-fried Swordfish Collar with Spicy Mango Sauce ($22.95++), I went with the yellow rice and fries. When I first tried the swordfish, it was priced at a very reasonable S$16 or S$17 for two big pieces of collar. Now the portion had shrunken and the price gone up north though it still tasted as good, just not as satisfying. Remember to dip the fried chunks of fish meat into the spicy sweet sauce with carries a hint of fruity fragrant. The rice was really good too with flakes of fish meat, sultanas and capsicums.

Accidentally broke a small branch off my Yellow Reaper plant, so now I have two unripe reapers, and hopefully a new clone of the plant :)

Peppers of various varieties
1. The Bell Pepper
These large sweet peppers come in a variety of colors (green, red, orange, yellow, purple and more). They are ideal for stuffing due to their size and mild-sweet flavor, but they are also incredibly versatile, adding flavor to any dish they are used in.
2. Miniature Sweet Pepper
These tiny peppers resemble bell peppers in appearance and flavor, but they are smaller, have fewer seeds to remove, and are often slightly sweeter. Use them as a scoop for your favorite dip, or roast or sauté them like a bell pepper.
Tumblr media
3. Pepper Cubanelle
This sweet pepper, also known as the Italian Frying Pepper, has a mild heat. This long, light greenish-yellow pepper has a slight wrinkle to its thin skin and is widely used in Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Dominican Republic cuisines. They are ideal for quick frying due to their thin skin, but they can also be roasted. Add a sliced one of these to your pizza to up the ante.
4. Banana and Pepper
These peppers were named after their long, curved shape and yellowish color. They have a tangy but mild flavor and are commonly found pickled for piling on sandwiches.
5. Cherry Chili
Pimento (or Pimiento) peppers, also known as cherry peppers, are red, heart-shaped peppers that are mild, sweet, and smell like a supercharged red bell pepper. They are most commonly found in jars and can be used to add sweet pepper flavor to dishes similar to roasted red peppers.
Tumblr media
6.Poblano Pepper
Poblano peppers, while hot, are on the mild side of the spicy pepper scale. Poblano peppers are thick and meaty like bell peppers, but with a mild kick. They are ideal for stuffing due to their size. They can also be roasted, grilled, or sautéed. They are one of Mexico's most popular peppers, and they are anchos when fully ripened and dried.
7.Jalapeño
Jalapeos reign supreme among spicy peppers. Not because they are the spiciest (in fact, compared to most, they are relatively mild on the Scoville scale), but because of their popularity and availability. They do have some heat, but it's a pleasant kind of heat. It would be incomplete without it in guacamole.
8. Fresno Pepper
They may resemble a red jalapeo, but they are more complex and have a bit more heat. As they mature, Fresnos become more fruity and smokier in flavor. Try these out if you want to try something new.
Tumblr media
9. Serrano Pepper
These long, thin red peppers pack a clean, bright punch without overwhelming you. They have thin skins, so if you decide to roast a bunch (which I would! ), you can chop them with the charred skins on without peeling. Serve with salads, salsa, and chiles.
10. Thai Pepper
Thai pepper comes in a plethora of varieties. The Bird's Eye pepper is most likely to be found in the grocery store, but all Thai peppers have a similar red color and pack a lot of heat for such a small pepper. They are commonly used to add a spicy kick to soups and stews.

Living a balanced life is a must for everyone. We can achieve a balanced life by consuming healthy vegetables; one of them is Yellow Bell Pepper. It’s a vegetable that we can find everywhere in our foods. From Pizza, barbeque to salad, we will find Bell Pepper in the serving. Bell Pepper has the Latin name Capsicum Annam, and it belongs to the cultivar group. We all know that there are many colors of Bell Pepper. Yellow Bell Paper, just like any other capsicum, can be found all year round. It can only live on warm soil, and it’s a huge enemy of temperature extremity and abundance of moisture.

Simple Tips
Store fruit and veggies whole. This will allow them to keep longer, as their surface degrades faster when it has been cut and exposed to air – makes sense, right?
Handle your fruit and veggies gently, as bruises and cuts will lead to rotting which can also spread to other veggies stored nearby.
10 Rapidfire Veggie Storage Tips
#1 Leafy Greens
Lettuce, spinach, rocket, kale and chard can be stored in a sealed container or reusable produce bag in the fridge after being washed and spun to promote hydration.
#2 Tomatoes, Chilli & Capsicums
Fresh tomatoes, chillies and capsicums should be stored on the bench at room temperature until ripe. To preserve for longer, just pop them in the fridge.
#3 Garlic, Onions & Potatoes
Store in a cool dark place and they will keep well for up to a few months. Hint: don’t store potatoes with onions and garlic, as they release gases that may quicken decay.
#4 Pumpkins or Squash
Whole pumpkins can be stored for months in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Sliced pumpkin should be stored in the fridge with the seeds removed, as these decay faster than the flesh.
#5 Cucumbers, Zucchini, Eggplant & Fennel
These immature fruits have thin skin that is sensitive to bruising and cuts, so handle carefully. Store them dry in the fridge in an unsealed reusable bag to allow for airflow.
#6 Carrots, Celeriac & Parsnip
Storing them in a reusable bag in the fridge with their tops removed will allow them to last for over a week (or longer).
#7 Beetroot, Turnips & Radish
Remove the leaves as soon as you get home to preserve the moisture within the roots (keep the leaves for compost or to feed your chickens or worm farm). Store the roots in a reusable produce bag in the fridge.
#8 Cabbages, Broccoli & Cauliflower
As broccoli and cauliflower are the unopened flower buds of a plant, they are best consumed within 3 to 4 days, before they begin to open and turn yellow. Store them in a crisper in the fridge in a reusable bag. Cabbages, however, will last for weeks.
#9 Celery & Soft Herbs
Celery and soft herbs such as parsley, chives and basil can be stored in a jar of water on the kitchen bench at moderate room temperature. Otherwise, in hotter months they can be washed and wrapped in a damp tea towel in the fridge.
#10 Dry Herbs
Dry herbs such as rosemary, thyme and oregano can be stored on the kitchen bench. The flavour becomes more potent as the herb dries, allowing them to keep for a long time. Once fully dry, seal in a container to sprinkle over your food later.

corn-y
pairing: mingyu x reader
word count: 765
genre: fluff
warnings: very vague sexual references, mingyu gets half naked (but it's cute), food mentions
a/n: domestic mingyu my beloved.
taglist: @itsveronicaxxx @zurikyo @husbandhoshi @starlightjoong.
Tumblr media
"fried rice?"
mingyu chuckles at your suggestion, having heard the request far too many times during the course of your relationship. wordlessly, he opens the fridge to look for rice and vegetables, setting them up on the counter beside the appliance.
on days like this, when both you and mingyu are tired after work and can't be bothered to cook something proper, he (with some limited help from you) whips up something simple. the two of you eat his creation cuddled in front of the television, an insignificant show acting as background noise while you talk about your day.
"any other requests?", mingyu teases, picking up an apron from its shelf.
"mm", you contemplate, a slow grin spreading on your face at the idea that pops in your head, "would be great if you lose the shirt, chef".
your boyfriend pauses for a second before putting down the apron, taking off his shirt in a clumsy move (you suspect he was aiming for smoothness) and tossing it to the corner of the counter. his eyes meet yours in a mischievous look as he ties the apron around his waist, bare skin peaking out from under the fabric. it's a little embarrassing how you still blush when he takes off any clothing, like you haven't seen him do it a hundred times before.
like you haven't traced every inch of his skin with your fingertips.
"anything else?", he gives you a goofy grin, wiggling his eyebrows, "i live to serve you".
"oh, no", you snort, "this is enough for now".
"for now, eh?", he picks up a carrot and starts peeling, "got many plans for me, have you?"
"oh, yeah", you giggle, "don't i always?"
listening to your conversation, one might think that the two of you have plans to get frisky later, but no - both of you know how this evening is going to go. like many before it, you're going to eat and pass out on the couch until one of you wakes up and drowsily prods the other to do the same. then you're going to go through your nightly routine and retire to bed, your limbs tangled in an ungraceful mess as you sleepily murmur cheesy nothings to each other.
there was once a time you would've called this routine "disgusting", thinking it was boring and unexciting. and hey, maybe it is. but living through it now, you don't have a single complaint.
"i'll help", you walk to stand beside mingyu, pecking his arm, "i can chop veggies".
"mm, okay. take the capsicum - wait", he looks at the vegetables he laid out earlier, "i forgot to take it out earlier, babe". then, in his sweetest voice he adds, "darling, would you be a dear and grab the capsicum from the fridge?"
"well ofcourse, honey", you play along, opening the fridge, "anything for you".
the two of you chuckle, your mixed laughter echoing in the kitchen. while pulling out the bag of capsicum, your eyes catch a lidded glass bowl, filled with something yellow.
"hey babe?", you ask, lifting the lid off the bowl.
"yeah?", mingyu hums.
"we have corn here", your voice is airy at the sight of your favorite vegetable, "how - when did you buy this?"
"picked it up while coming home", he answers absentmindedly, his attention focused on the carrot, "been a while, thought you might like it".
"i do".
epiphanies truly can hit you anywhere, eh? you would've never predicted that one would strike you while you're helping your boyfriend prepare dinner - but it's apt, you suppose.
does life get better than this? does it get better than preparing dinner with someone you adore, someone who cooks half-naked just because you asked, someone who remembers to buy your favorite vegetables and cook your favorite dish for you, for the third consecutive night? is there anything better than the knowledge that you're going to spend the next couple of hours eating fried rice with mingyu and talk about everything and nothing, before passing out in his arms?
you can't imagine that it does.
"what's wrong?", he looks over his shoulder, bringing you back to reality, "do you not like it anymore?"
later. i'll think about this later. there's a more important task at hand.
"no, i love it", you put the vegetables on the counter, slipping your arms under his apron and hugging him from behind, whispering in his ear, "i love you".
"what, because i bought you corn?", he giggles, a soft blush creeping up his neck.
"that", you kiss his shoulder, "and just because. i love you".
