Hi, I hope you're well.
After sasuke killed itachi, say like he didn't learn the truth about his brother or the massacre, what do you think he would of done after?
Like some people think he would go back to konoha but I don't think so, I mean he already cut off ties w naruto so he wouldnt go back cuz he thinks bonds are a weakness. So what would be his goal? Would he just isolate himself forever?
Thanks!
Hi. I am well, thanks for asking.
That sort of speculation is pointless, as to whether he would go back to Konoha or stay out of it of his own accord. Because regardless of all that, Naruto would do everything in his power to bring Sasuke back. That hasn't changed. Naruto was looking for Sasuke even while Sasuke was fighting Itachi. And not forcefully this time (unlike vote one) because by this time, Naruto has already lost Jiraiya so he would understand Sasuke's feelings about losing family. He would reason with Sasuke, and probably even confess to him. Like he did in kage arc and then vote 2. Naruto is hella vulnerable and emotionally honest with most people, even more so with Sasuke. He would cut his heart open for Sasuke to see the insides of it. And at the end of it all, whether one agrees with it or not, Sasuke does love him. Loves him like crazy. Now that Sasuke's goals are met with, killing Itachi ie, and not knowing the truth about Uchiha massacre, he would have no reason to kill Naruto. Or hate Konoha. So he would probably be persuaded to go back to wherever Naruto is. Sasuke isn't really connected with Konoha or team seven at this point. Only Naruto. Naruto would also want to be with Sasuke and fight alongside him. As a team. They do make the best team after all. And both of them really enjoy it too. I mean they were in the middle of a bloody war and were laughing and enjoying the battle, the thrill of it. They really enjoy each other's company, the partnership, the companionship. So yeah, Naruto would want Sasuke to be with him, and Sasuke would want it too. He would have never left Naruto in the first place, when he abandoned Konoha and thus Naruto too, if he didn't want to kill Itachi. So now that he has, he would have no reason to not be with the one and only person that makes him feel like family. The thing Sasuke always wanted, the close bonds of family. By this time, he has already acknowledged how important Naruto is to him, his closest friend. Why wouldn't he want to be with his most precious, his one and only?
I can't say if he would have a specific goal, he certainly doesn't feel much for Konoha at this point but he might do something to restore Uchiha clan's honour while being in it, however he would certainly make sure Naruto is protected by him at all times, because he really is insane like that about keeping Naruto safe. Lol.

I'm curious, what other Sasuke ships do you like?
To be honest, before Sakura Kasugano, there is other girls for Sasuke. There is tons of list that I ship Sasuke with and that even involve cross shipping, but I will name only top 11, and you already know who is number one is, it is Sakura Kasugano. Anyways onto the list:
11.
Tumblr media
Temari from Naruto Shippuden and Boruto. Although they have barely interaction but I know Temari is quite smitten with Sasuke and his look by referring to him "handsome". She also feeling sad when Sasuke that she knew turnout that she wasn't expect from him during 5 kage summit. They fought before and Sasuke go all out on her, he doesn't go easy on her, he see her as equal and formidable opponent. Also, both of the voice actor dub got married so that make me want to ship them. To be honest, I think they would be good couple of power house. She strong and have long hair that Sasuke like. In any circumstance if Temari was in the hidden leaf, she could convince Sasuke to stay using logic to find a different way to obtain power. Sasuke will acknowledge her, probably have 2 kid.
10.
Tumblr media
Kushina from Naruto and Shippuden.
Okay...Here me out..Before some of you will grab torch fire and pitchfork...Sasuke favorite food is tomato and Kushina's hair is like a red tomato and most people in her childhood called her that. If Kushina was still alive and Sasuke begin to notice her. I believe Sasuke will have a crush on her and will stay at Konoha. Again, he like tomato and love a girl with long hair. Not only that, she also strong too that something Sasuke like. Headcanon, if Kushina was alive and heard about massacre of the Uchiha clan that Sasuke was the only one alive. She would take him in so Naruto would have a friend however Minato pass away. Time goes by as Sasuke get older, he would confess his feeling toward Kushina that he would tell her that she got very beautiful hair and want to be with her forever. They would have one child. So please ummmm go easy on me.....Remember it's just an headcanon. ^~^
9.
Tumblr media
Annie Leonhart from Attack on Titan. Well, basically she is indeed strong and she have those stoic facial expression like Sasuke. She does have harsh personality and isolate herself from other like Sasuke. To be honest, she doesn't care much same as Sasuke does. So if Sasuke ever went to different dimension and come across into Titan world, I think those two would open up and as they respect each other in term of Skill, Strength, Power, and Goal. They will develop feeling for each other little by little. They would get 1 kids.
8.
Tumblr media
Karin Uzumaki, from Naruto Shippuden. Karin have been very supportive of Sasuke's decision and will risk her life to help Sasuke achieve his goal. To be frank, she is cute, plus long hair and her hair color does have similar feature as Kushina have so yeah I think it will work. If those two get marry and get 3 kids. They would have very strong bloodline of Uzumaki and Uchiha clan. In headcanon, Sasuke will develop empathy and realize what he have done to her and how he treat her from 5 kage summit was wrong, start to appreciate her a lot more of her undying supportive. He will start develop feeling for her and reciprocate the feeling toward Karin that she still have feeling for him. They will have a peaceful wonderful life as they leave Konoha forever.
7.
Tumblr media
Tatsumaki, from One Punch Man. Sure, she maybe short but her strong personality make up for it that her true beauty of it. She can be cold and harsh toward everyone that she come across, but it similar to Sasuke as he was harsh and cold toward everyone, however, one thing they both got in common. They both got tragic past and how they turn out of how they act which you can't blame them for it. If Sasuke ever come across with her and got into her world, at first they both would be hostile first, then Tatsumaki would retaliate of her using psychokinesis/psychic power on him but however Sasuke would be too fast and he would use his sharingan on her to get caught into genjutsu. She would be shock and upset that someone can stood against her power, in overtime, they would have common enemy goal to eliminate. Tatsumaki would slowly open up and have feeling for Sasuke, also admire his good look. Sasuke would find her annoying at first for her constant insult but he will find her quite charmer and adorable due of her personality. They would have 2 kids.
6.
Tumblr media
Shura Kirigakure, from Blue Exorcist. Come on, she is gorgeous and so beautiful, that should be enough reason, right? lolz No? Okay fine, Same reason as Kushina and Karin, Long hair and red color as a tomato but that is not enough reason so I will tell more. She is very strong and quite knowledgeable of her ninjutsu something she had a common with Sasuke. In headcanon, Sasuke come to her world. At first, she would attack him because he come from different world and assume he work with the devil. Of Course, Sasuke stomp her but only going easy on her, as Sasuke explain how he is not working with Satan and how he wind up in her world. Shura will agree and find Sasuke quite a good looking handsome that she might claim him to be her lover. She will pounce on Sasuke and drag him to the bed to make sweet love lol, They would have one child. That should be enough reason.
5.
Tumblr media
Ramlethal, from Guilty Gear. Well, both of them use a weapon and very skill in hand to hand combat. I really think she is very cute and sure some say she have stoic emotionless facial expression but I think that is part of her quality. I think Sasuke and Ramlethal would be adorable couple. In headcanon, they will spar at first with no conclusion as Sasuke is not using his full strength that got Ramlethal bored, so they begin to interact with each other of their goal and interest and soon Ramlethal will express her emotion facial expression more toward Sasuke. One thing Sasuke will acknowledge is her skill in combat They will have one beautiful daughter.
4.
Tumblr media
Toph Bei Fong from Avatar (age up either 16 to 18)
of this image https://twitter.com/jmg_partybean/status/1303709817408610309
credit to JMG
Anyways, Toph is very carefree and very tomboyish, not to mention. She is the best Earth bender. Plus she is adorable. The reason, I want to pair her up with Sasuke, probably I personally think they would be a cute couple. If Toph touch Sasuke's face, she would immediately blush that find him very handsome and cool but that not the reason why she would like him, she like him once Sasuke show his strength that she will be impress and admire him. While Sasuke will discover despite of her tomboyish look and attitude, he find she have feminine side that he find it very attractive and someday will find a cure for her blindness, once her blindness is heal, she will be 10x stronger than she was before. Both got family problem that need to resolve. Both are capable in battle. To be honest, they would have one powerful son.
3.
Tumblr media
Hinata Hyuga, from Naruto Shippuden. Oh boy oh boy, I know many will never agree but hey, in the beginning Sasuke and Hinata was my first shipping pair. I ship them so hard, because how much they have in common. Plus, those two were suppose to be engage in arrange marriage. I understand not many people agree but it doesn't matter. I ship who I want to ship. Both got unique eye ability, both have indeed have family issue, both have struggle their own weakness, have very unique design as their color pattern like both have black hair, dark clothes that include purple and blue, and they look traditional. Hinata is the only one who is not a fangirl toward Sasuke. They're both rather introverted, they're originally calm and reserved characters. In headcanon, they both will be introduce each other in young age as they spend time each other as friend. In genin, they develop a strong bond as they have feeling for each other, Hinata will have long hair just like in shippuden. Sasuke will train her to overcome her weakness and Hinata will help Sasuke ease up his pain of his inner dark hatred that she can comfort and understand of what he is going through. In time skip, they would become a couple and since they have come from of their bloodlines, Both come from a notorious and noble clan, and their 3 kids would have crazy abilities. So yeah.
2.
Tumblr media
Bea, from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Bea is a bae, must I need to say something else other than she is so cute? Yes? Fine, both want to improve and desire to get better. Bea got stoic emotionless facial expression like Sasuke but show her cute side once she do show emotion. In Headcanon, I really think Bea and Sasuke will be a wonderful couple. Sasuke come from different world get drag by legendary pokemon Arceus into Pokemon world. Sasuke have no idea or where to start of the world of Pokemon, Bea spot Sasuke to ask him for a pokemon battle but Sasuke doesn't know anything about pokemon but he will battle one of her pokemon, Bea will shock and confuse but seem to respect his determination to go along with it, she will use Machoke to battle Sasuke but little did she know that Sasuke quite capable in combat so he stomp Machoke very easily as Bea is surprise yet impress of how strong he is without using any pokemon. So on, Bea help Sasuke and explain the world about Pokemon and shorty she will have feeling for him. Sasuke will reciprocate those feeling toward Bea as well. They will have a very strong daughter.
1.
Tumblr media
Sakura Kasugano, from Street Fighter.
Come on now, do I really need to explain why she is number one? She is cute, she is adorable, she is strong, she can cook very well, she have very cheerful personality, cute tomboy that everyone love, best Sakura of all Sakura, she is very determine to get better and stronger, she got beautiful look, she is athletics, and can have a ability to use Satsui no Hado into Sun Burn Sakura. She can brash toward Dan Hibiki just like Sasuke being brash toward Naruto. She is also calm and disciple like Sasuke. You know what, both got something in common, Sakura is being compare like Ryu or Ken same as Sasuke being compare to his older Itachi, however both are strive to be better. In headcanon, Sasuke leave his toxic world behind and enter the world of street fighter. Sakura meet Sasuke for the first time, both immediately fall in love in first sight. I really think Sakura will be the one that can help Sasuke's dark heart of hatred will be heal, they wiil have a wholesome life together. They will have two beautiful child, a son and a daughter.

Do u know about the nh art on here where apparently they made narusasu have some kinda Brokeback Mountain moment in the pain and kage summit arc but naruto ends up choosing hinata over sasuke? I heard about it on some blog and wanted to read it to make fun of it but I can't find it. Anyway isn't it hilarious that even canon shippers can see the romance in sns and they even choose to portray it in their works, but they change it by making sns ultimately choose the girls over each other? It's hilarious, and really says a lot lol
I was the one who brought it up, not sure if others saw it too. But not exactly that, I mean they are a huge Hinata stan/NH fan but they mocked Kage arc and made a Brokeback mountain joke about it, but of course after the ending she responded to the complaints about Naruto and Sasuke not being together with "they were always brothers bla bla bla" so yeah. ("I wish I knew how to quit you" is a famous line from Brokeback Mountain, where Jack acknowledges that while their relationship makes him unhappy, he can't let go of Ennis, the movie portrays the effect of homophobia well and I hate when people make light of it).
Tumblr media
I think it's homophobic, to make mockery of Naruto's feelings as if Brokeback mountain is something ridiculous to begin with and not a tragic story about same-sex romance and homophobia. -__- But of course you can expect a Hinata stan be salty because Hinata got owned by Pain and then totally ignored by Naruto. So they had to cope by mocking the entire manga. Because not enough bland heterosexuality.
It's there (it's on tumblr probably too but I won't go to that person's blog). Also she's those usual people who think Sasuke is an idiot/overrated while Hinata/Team 8 should have had more panel time.
Btw just in case I'll say don't send her asks or anything, it would be a pointless action and just be used to paint sns fandom in a bad light. But I think it's important to show het shippers hypocrisy.

I think either prompt 29 or prompt 31 would be really cute to see for Chojuro/Gaara. ^^
@hetaonikidd thank you so much for indulging me! I had fun writing this but it was challenging too. I used both prompts so I hope you like!
Title: Neapolitan
Word Count: 1.8k
Tumblr media
"How long are you both in Konoha?” Chojuro asked, sipping his water. He looked to Darui beside him and Kurotsuchi across from him. This was nice. He finally felt like he was one of them, finally accepted by the other Kage supports. Kurotsuchi was related to the Tsuchikage by blood, and Darui always seemed so sure of himself and his abilities, and though Chojuro was just as talented he had always felt a bit of imposter syndrome being among them. The sand siblings weren’t particularly welcoming, either, but they had begun to warm up to him as well.
“We’re staying a few more days,” Kurotsuchi replied, smiling, sipping on a milkshake. “My grandfather isn’t in any hurry to get back home, though I’m sure it’s a bit of a mess. It’s not going anywhere though.”
“Same,” Darui replied. “Lord A I think is just grateful we’re all alive…well, most of us anyway.”
“Oh, that’s good,” Chojuro replied, smiling. “I think Lady Mei wanted to stay a few more days too. It’s so nice here…and there’s so much excitement right now. I know we lost many people along the way…but it seems that everyone is so happy to be living. It’s…energizing.”
“I agree,” Kurotsuchi said. “After being trapped in Tsuki No Me, I think people are looking forward to really living out their dreams, and live them in reality. Not in some facsimile.”
“Yeah. There’s definitely a few things I’ve been thinking about doing,” Darui replied, grinning at her fondly.
“Like what?” Chojuro asked curiously.
“Like asking someone out,” he replied. “You won’t know if there’s a spark unless you ignite it. I guess I always just guessed it was there or it wasn’t, but I don’t think that’s true now. A catalyst is needed.”
“Oh?” he asked. He wondered if the subject of Darui's affection was at the table among them. He cleared his throat. “I suppose I understand that. I’ve been thinking along the same lines, actually.”
The door to the restaurant they were occupying opened. Chojuro stopped breathing as he watched Kankuro and Temari enter, followed closely behind by Lord Gaara and Naruto Uzumaki.
Chojuro resumed breathing, taking another sip of water to calm his nerves as he watched them walk towards them.
“Oh, hey Chojuro,” Naruto said easily, smiling that easy smile of his. It was enough to put anyone at ease. Chojuro felt a swell of pride. He remembered my name!
Gaara glided by, fixing an empty gaze on the Kage supports. He met Chojuro’s eyes and Chojuro’s stomach did a somersault. “Lord Gaara,” he said respectfully, nodding his head to acknowledge him.
A small smile formed on Gaara’s lips. He tipped his head just slightly in return, following the others into a booth several tables down.
“How would you go about it? Asking someone out, I mean?” Chojuro asked. He was absolutely clueless about this sort of thing.
Darui took a moment to think through his answer. “I don’t really know for sure just yet, but I think you probably have to be direct and confident, and be willing to make the first move. It’s easy to miss if you never aim.”
“Okay, that–that’s good advice, I think.”
“Why, are you going to ask someone out?” Kurotsuchi asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I–I was thinking about it. Um. Excuse me,” he said. Darui stood to let him out.
As Chojuro walked away, Darui smiled at Kurotsuchi now that it was just the two of them.
“So…as I was saying…” Darui started.
Chojuro walked towards the table with Gaara, Naruto, and Gaara’s brother and sister. His fists were clenched at his sides. This is stupid, he thought hopelessly. There’s no way the Kazekage would entertain this.
“Oh, hey Chojuro,” Naruto said once more, grinning. “Care to join us?” he asked.
“Oh, I couldn’t impose,” he replied, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “But I, I wanted to ask you a question, Lord Kazekage. If you have a minute?”
Gaara’s eyes widened in surprise. What could it possibly be that the Kiri-nin wanted to ask?
Tumblr media
“I…Yes, I’ll be right back,” he said to the table. He stood, following Chojuro a few paces away for more privacy. He noticed how nervous the swordsman looked.
“Chojuro–I wanted to tell you how impressed I was that you took down Black Zetsu,” Gaara started, hoping to put the other at ease. He was aware that he was not the easiest person to approach. “You did well.”
He was rewarded with a toothy megawatt smile and pink cheeks.
“What was it that you wanted to ask me?” Gaara inquired, positively baffled but trying his best to hide it.
“Wanna, like–I mean, if you’re not busy…we could get lunch? Or even just coffee if you don’t have a lot of time?”
Gaara smiled. It was so rare that anyone approached him, let alone ask him out. That was what was happening here, right?
“Yes. I’d like that.” Gaara replied, his own cheekbones dusted with a rosy color. “I’m here tomorrow and then we leave the day after. Where did you want to meet?”
Chojuro could hardly believe his luck. Did he hear him correctly? He was certain he did.
“Maybe we could try the yakiniku restaurant down the street? Noon tomorrow?” Chojuro asked, barely believing what was happening, barely recognizing his own voice. He sounded confident. He better not overthink it.
“I’ll be there,” Gaara replied.
“Okay. I look forward to it,” Chojuro said, nodding his head in a slight bow and returning to his seat. Success!
“I uh, I took some advice,” he replied, preferring not to say anything more, downing the rest of his water.
“What was that about?” Kurotsuchi asked, her own face slightly red.
Meanwhile, as Gaara sat back down, Naruto and Kankuro were waggling their eyebrows and snickering.
“Grow up,” Gaara frowned, folding his arms. Temari only smiled at him, hopeful he’d have fun for once. They’d overheard the whole thing.
******
Lunch the next day went pretty well. It turned out that the Kazekage was quite talkative when asked questions about his interests and follow-up questions about succulents. Feeling good about his odds, Chojuro suggested that afterwards they go for a walk. Gaara seemed just as eager to not say goodbye just yet.
They circled a small lake with a worn dirt footpath. There was a hill that descended down towards the lake, and not too far away was an ice cream cart.
“Do you want ice cream?” Chojuro asked earnestly. “You could sit here; I’ll go get it.” Gaara was taken aback by the intensity of his gaze, seeking to be sure his needs were met before his own.
“I could go with you,” Gaara replied, though the lake was beautiful. There was no one else here, and it was hard to say how long it would be before a private moment enjoying the scenery was gone.
“Please, sit, I insist. What flavor?”
Gaara took a seat, watching a duck and her fluffy ducklings float across the surface, a v-shaped ripple following behind them where they swam.
"Neapolitan, if they have it. Or any of those flavors would be fine."
Chojuro smiled. Gaara was complicated and uncomplicated at the same time. He'd have it no other way.
"Okay, I'll be right back."
Chojuro walked away, leaving Gaara to contemplate their lunch date and take a quiet moment for himself to enjoy the scenery. These moments to himself were hard to come by–he appreciated that the Mizukage’s hand had given him the opportunity. His loyalty to his Mizukage was unquestionable, and he was hard working and dependable, and his recent conquest slaying Black Zetsu proved his ability with his legendary sword. He was a catch. It was a shame they lived so far apart, Gaara thought, but he didn’t have time to pursue romance anyway, he rationalized.
When Chojuro returned he held two small cones in his hand. He smiled, his eyes crinkling as he did so. Gaara found it endearing. He’d seen him do it a number of times, but rarely for him.
“They didn’t have neapolitan, so I got you a scoop of vanilla and another of chocolate. Or you can have my strawberry.” He held them out for Gaara to choose. Gaara smiled at him. His red hair danced around his face in a sudden gust of wind.
“Thank you”, Gaara replied, choosing the chocolate and vanilla combo. He enjoyed the sweet treat. Chojuro sat down beside him on the bench.
Tumblr media
“You’re welcome. T-thank you for coming with me. I, um, I’ve hadacrushonyourforalongtime,” he blurted out. He’d done his best to stay professional, but anytime he was in the same room with the young Kazekage his heart would flutter with excitement and he hoped he would be noticed.
Gaara turned to him, shyly smiling, color high on his cheeks. “I’ve enjoyed this,” Gaara said, lowering his guard. “You’re…very sweet,” Gaara added. “I wouldn’t have known you felt that way, had you not asked me yesterday.”
The nervous smile and neck rub and crinkled eyes and blushing face and stammer were too adorable. “Y-you really think so?”
“I do. I like you.”
Chojuro took a moment to calm down, ruminating on the Kazekage’s confession. They finished his ice cream, looking out at the lake in companionable silence. There still was no one else in sight. “If that’s the case, could I-could I kiss you?” he asked bravely, hopefully.
Gaara’s eyes widened in surprise. “No one has asked me that before.” He heard his heart pound in his ears as the swordsman looked at him with such longing. Gaara glanced between his dark eyes and long lashes to his lips and pointed teeth, which were biting his own lip.
Chojuro waited for a more clear answer, though he leaned in more closely. Gaara didn't back away. He instinctively leaned forward, slightly.
"Please," Gaara breathed, dark eyelids heavy as the other drew closer.
Chojuro gently reached for Gaara's chin, tilting his face up tenderly to meet him. Chojuro paused before pressing his lips to the soft, parted ones just a breath away, his nose nuzzling Gaara's cheek. Warmth pooled low in his belly when he heard Gaara moan so quietly he wasn't certain if he had imagined the sound or not.
"What are you waiting for?" Gaara asked, a hint of annoyance in his deep voice.
Chojuro committed, pressing his lips to the other slowly. Gaara was shy at first but it wasn't long before he was returning the advance with enthusiastic willingness, enjoying the taste of strawberry mingled with the chocolate and vanilla on his own lips.
Chojuro felt hands wrap in his hair, tightening on his scalp. He groaned with excitement. "I know I've kissed you like, ten times, but just like another ten, please," Chojuro pleaded, his black eyes captivated by Gaara's seafoam green. They were the color of the tide pools he used to play in as a young child, before he ever encountered the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist.
"I don't want you to stop," Gaara replied, pulling him back in for at least twenty more.

i’m having so much gaara/naruto feels
#myposts#writing the suna chunin exams AU#and trying to get into naruto and touch#(and how gaara has basically teh same issues) and i'm overcome BY THAT FUKCKING HANDSHAKE#yeah sure peace between rival villages#yeah sure naruto acknowledged by a kage#blablabla let's be honest#this is about two kids who understand the issues the other have with connecting better than anyone else can)#it's a good ship really#and in that au they didn't fight?#but naruto is just as important to gaara as he is in canon?#i don't think he's gonna inspire gaara to become kazekage#gaara's proabbly going to stop the mindless killing on his own#because it was never who he was#and look for naruto#he was never looked at as his own person as A REAL PERSON A KID#until he started figthing and bleeding for the people around him#but here gaara is looking at him and.#this time naruto didn't even fight him to the death and cry for him?#it's mind boggling for him#(and also. once more i get where naruhina comes from because.#this too is valid for hinata?#naruto might not know it but he was important to her BEFORE he fought for her#and like. i think right i really want that for him#kiddo never had friends or family he didn't have to do miracles for before being accepted#after that many people are ready to protect him and make sure he doesn't take the whole world on his shoulders!#(gaara keeping him away from the war. sakura desperately trying to take away from him the promise he made her#etc)#at some level he must still think that if he doesn't manage to be strong enough to protect them#he doesn't deserve their love and will lose it

Is it just me or is Gaara badly written? He's not the worst, but at the end of the day I can count with the fingers of one hands who are the only decently written characters in Naruto, and only one of them (Sasuke) is a main character. He's fine in the first part and in some of Shippuden, but then the Kage arc and the 4th ninja war arc act like he's a pure boy uwu that anyone would follow. Like... hello? Dude was a serial killer when he still had milk teeth. Suna has exceptional therapy then.
Anon you don't realize the gift you've given me. I've seen a lot of people running this blog that hate Gaara and I don't hate Gaara, but haven't had a reason to explain myself. I was literally just going to throw him into my final write-ups at the end just for the excuse to talk about him. But since you mentioned it...let's talk about Gaara.
I'm going to admit up-top a lot of this is more emotion based than logical. Which I think is fine. Sometimes you just have feelings about things and feelings are nice. While I'm sure as I go on I'll explain more about what I mean, for now I'll just say as the story is it doesn't logically make sense but I see the through line it would have taken if the story was better written. The issue is that we are more told things and expected to believe things rather than actually being shown them. In accepting these things without much thought I became more emotionally touched by Gaara as a character than I probably would have otherwise and I fully acknowledge that.
What's interesting to me about Gaara first of all is something I'm not sure Kishimoto realized he did (shocker), but all the people Gaara kills or tries to kill are people he perceives to have threatened him. Now go back and consider Rasa had been sending assassins to kill Gaara since he was small and yeah you can see how any slight, no matter how small or how real it might be would lead to him killing that person. Also remember this is a fictional universe where people be killing a lot. Naruto not killing anyone is an outlier. Chouji killed a guy. The morality of this universe isn't one-to-one with our own. As you can see I'm already looking more kindly on Gaara as he is at the start.
Now, as always, do I find Naruto convincing and believe whatever the fuck he does would change Gaara? Not really. But also Gaara seems like the kind of child where he just needed some validation or someone to relate to if I'm honest so whatever. I've said it before, Sasuke Retrieval Arc is Best Arc and I think the part where the Gaara and his siblings show up is very well done. I am hyped for it every time. I love Gaara being kind of awkward and making a lot of social faux paus when talking to Lee ("you were faster last time we met" YEAH GAARA AND THERE'S A REASON HE'S NOT AS FAST AS HE WAS THEN MAYBE YOU REMEMBER IT) and seeing him talk through his new understanding of relationships. Would it have been more effective if we actually SAW Gaara learning about relationships and trying to be better? Yeah. But the narrative couldn't afford that time I guess and Kishimoto wouldn't know character establishment that wasn't directly tied to the plot if it bit him on the ass. Still, I got the idea so I saw the thing, I liked the thing.
Okay, Shippuden Gaara is kazekage. Dumb and also more proof this kage thing is some nepotism shit. But once again I can appreciate the idea that Gaara has now had an epiphany that he has found what he wants to protect and be his special thing and that is his village. I like the sentiment. Funnily this whole arc hinges on Gaara and I don't feel he does much of anything so that's that on that.
Kage Summit time. I got to give it up for Gaara laying the rest of the kage's out. I love a good read and that was a Read ("ask us anything you want." "when did you all forsake yourselves?" you better work you fucking bitch) and I appreciate that Gaara is able to extend his sympathies to Sasuke. He doesn't know anything he just knows Sasuke showed up to attack one of them and now they got to fight, but he can still feel sad about it. Gaara telling Naruto he should put Sasuke down like an old dog is not cool though, even if he doesn't know what happened.
Leading the war. Would be more impactful and probably would have meant more to readers if we actually SAW Gaara, but like most characters he is sidelined for Naruto's bullshit and Sasuke. I understand why it doesn't move people, but I can picture in my head how we got here and it does move me that this scared, angry kid can now rally thousands of people and speak sincerely and emotionally.
Now where I start having problems that have nothing to do with Gaara as a character really. I hate Kishimoto's tendency to "fix" things by just giving the character what they want/need. He does this mostly with Naruto as I said (control the Fox powers, parents, teachers, validation), but for some reason he decides to do it with Gaara. Rasa comes back to life just to tell Gaara his mother and uncle always loved him and blah blah. I don't have a problem with his mom and uncle always caring about him. I think that makes sense. The problem is that Gaara (ostensibly since Kishimoto likes to tell and not show) went through all of this to get to the point where he is now, rallying an army and being emotionally vulnerable, and having it turn out he was loved all long kind of defeats the purpose. The point is that was handed a raw deal, he didn't know what love was, he didn't understand it, but he was able to learn how to love anyway. You can make love where there was none before. You can overcome your parent's shittiness and be a better person and make a better world. Gaara did not need to know that his mother and uncle loved him for that to matter. But it gets handed to him anyway, like a reward for being good enough, when I truly believe it should not matter and takes the power out of Gaara being the person he turned out to be.
Anyway, that's my Gaara screed I guess. I like him. Completely understand if others don't, but I mean give it some thought at least. Feel free to share your thoughts as long as we are all respecting each others emotional truths.

Hey so I read your post about Sasuke not using the mangekyo (however u spell it) Sharingan bc he knows how it is to be tortured by it but still uses it on sakura. And I’m curious about something.
Idk if you think this but I read somewhere that sakura “forced” Sasuke, by manipulating and/or pressuring him, to be with her and that’s why they’re together and I want to know what you’re thoughts are on it. Sorry I just realized that this is off topic. But for some reason, this “explanation” about the ss communtiy is stuck on me. You don’t have to answer obviously but I’m really curious on what you think about it. Since she kept pressuring him throughout the anime , even during war (which is honestly a wtf moment to me) , and I don’t like how she’s very persistent , when even kakashi tries to back her up -that honestly made me dislike kakashi since he knows that Sasuke isn’t interested in her but yet tries to justify her “love” , whether he says it subconsciously or not in his mind. I am a sns shipper tho, but I wouldn’t like force it ya know? I would’ve been happy too if Sasuke stayed single and focused on therapy for his trauma and all that but I’m hella curious. (Word of the day: curious, lol)
Sorry sorry for the rant again.
OH NO IT’S NOT OFF TOPIC! I mean it’s a logical question to come to lol, but honestly... I kinda agree with the sentiment that Sakura was persistent with Sasuke and that... he’s not in a relationship due to love but out of a sense of guilt and responsibility (that Kakashi and unfortunately Naruto reinforced if I remember right)
But anyway, I do think there was pressure and a bit of guilting for Sasuke to end up with Sakura. I don’t think he’s in love with her, and I think Sakura is aware of it and is in complete denial about it. There are multiple times in the war arc where she acknowledges that Sasuke couldn’t give less of a fuck about her, which is surprising because she KNOWS that considering he almost tried to kill her during the Kage Summit Arc. Flash forward to blank period, where it’s pre much confirmed that Sakura was following Sasuke around doing whatever. It’s confirmed that they conceive Sarada after Nart and Hinata get married (I’m pre sure), and she gives birth in one of Orochimaru’s old hideouts. Like.... if that doesn’t sound suspicious and weird and pushy... Idk.
Flash forward to Boruto, where Sasuke obviously meets up with Nart from time to time, but not his supposed “wife” or child. I say wife in quotes, but there’s like.. no evidence they’re actually married. There’s no wedding pictures, rings... The only picture Sakura has of him in the house is one where he’s wearing his Akatsuki cloak as a teen and her as a full grown adult. (I could go into the implications of this that she’s in love with the idea of Sasuke, instead of Sasuke as a person .. but well, well...) Sarada asks why they’re not a normal family, and asks Sakura if her dad has glasses, and Sakura can’t even remember??? That one simple fact?? Anyway she destroys the house because Sarada is , in my opinion, poking holes in the delusion her mom is invested in. Sasuke’s gone for so long he doesnt even recognize his OWN kid and nearly kills her. And now thats hes around, hes Borutos mentor instead of his own daughter?? Ive kinda made joke posts in the past that Sarada is Sasukes reminder of the situation hes found himself in with Sakura, a physical, breathing reminder of well... his shitty situation. I mean he was essentially guilted by Kakashi and Naruto to be with Sakura considering how much she loved her and all the shit he put her through (which obviously was wrong, he shouldnt have tried to kill her or genjutsu her—no matter how many times ss stans claim he genjutsud her to protect her, i just dont buy it considering his connection with it and how rarely he uses it unless its self defense from itachi—but that doesnt mean hes obligated to “love or be loved by her”). also in boruto sasuke says that the only reason why he and sakura are together is because they have sarada, which pre much explains his headspace regarding his situation with sakura.
anyway, to answer your question, yeah i think there was manipulation, pushiness, and guilt-trippy shit involved in why sasuke eventually ‘got together’ with sakura. i mean, think of it in the reverse genders. i think a lot of people would find the whole situation of how sakura and sasuke ‘got together’ more suspect than it is.. anyway of course thats my opinion!!! i generally agree, and i think sasuke is only with her out of some weird combination of penance (for naruto) and obligation (for sarada)

I read a lot fanfiction (and I mean it. A LOT. perhaps too much. and then I keep rereading ones i like. I mean. I read Deception and Give us our Daily Ramen 5 times since May. and these are just two examples) and I always thought I liked canon/postcanon ones because I wanted to see two of them together in the circumstances I learned to love SNS.
but once I read a couple (or more like a dozen - oh who am I kidding more like a couple dozens) I realized that I am not quite satisfied with them cuz I just have my own humble opinion on what exactly happened in canon, how they fell in love and whatever which doesn't really fit in many fanfics, which leads to frustration on my part since I really really want somebody to get into my head and write a fanfiction out of it.
but science is bothered with other things like curing coronavirus and making robots so I guess I'd have to man up and do it myself or just write this post and rest in peace.
as I am a lazy person (not like Shikamaru lazy - both my body AND my mind are not up for functioning) I am pretty sure you already figured which option I chose. so.
I genuinely think they haven't really developed much of a crush till Sasuke left, or at least it was a really childish one, and they definitely never realised that. they had a bond and there was attraction, but neither was ready to acknowledge it. but they had three years to think since then, although I believe there wasn't much of a romantic allure to their thoughts aswell. I mean they started to mature and realise their bodies are not solely for fighting - I do believe Orochimaru is a perv too, he is just into more gross things than Jiraya - but they didn't think about each other in that way. at least not too much.
Sasuke would probably think something like - stop thinking about him he probably doesnt even remember you anymore ANYWAY revenge is he even still alive that loser or have Akatsuki already killed him if Itachi did that he is so dead well he is dead anyway because revenge right blah blah blah
and Naruto be like - I wonder what Sasuke is doing? hope Orochimaru doesn't do something to him - I've seen his look - that guy is creepy and ofc Sasuke had to go there to that god forsaken place to learn jutsus from the guy who can literally strangle you with his tongue well not for long I am going to find him and beat some sense into that stupid bastard ANYWAY ramen ...
and then they meet in Orochimaru hideout and Sasuke just lunges forward and brings himself in contact with Naruto and I think they sorta became aware of each other physically cuz whats with this intimate whispering in Narutos ear and Naruto just awkwardly standing there trying not to blush? I mean... just rewatch that moment. he has such a stoic face (and probably stoic dick) he never really paid attention to Sasukes katana, who unshealthed it sooooooo slowly it was almost a metaphor for smth else. I mean. right?
but I still think Naruto disregarded that reaction later cuz of all mental anguish Sasukes rejection caused him, though I think Sasuke did realize some things for himself - not that he was ready to accept that, he had more important bussiness with Itachi.
and I think it was somewhere between that moment and Kage Summit arc that Naruto started to realise things - he is not really dense as many ppl think, he just plays dumb - like him watching that start fall and then that moment with Karui and Darui where the living shit was beaten out of him - he seemed too deep in thoughts at the time and I think he was rethinking everything he knew about Sasuke and then when he had that breakdown and hyperventilated thinking about Sasuke - that was a moment of realisation and all those hidden emotions just flooded him. and then he felt this visceral pull and went after him not to prevent anybody from killing anybody, but to see him and let him know that he will be there no matter what. that was not quite love confession, but close enough.
and Sasuke - who didnt have a really stable mind at the time and they were teenagers for gods sake they had no idea how to deal with all that emotional crap - was just crushed under the weight of conflicting feelings and I like to believe that if Obito wasnt there to rush him Naruto would get through to him. but at the time Naruto realised that he didnt want to force Sasuke into anything. he would fight him. he would die with him. but he wouldnt force him. and we see that later. Sasuke wanted to join the battle against crazy Uchihas - good. Sasuke wanted to fight after that - okay. Sasuke went on his redemption trip with not even a goodbye - Naruto was there to say it himself. Sasuke left the village again after brief coming back with Sakura - fine. Sasuke wants to teach his son - cool. Sasuke wants to meet outside of village - works for Naruto, its not like he has family or duties right?
so that is how I see the development of their feelings. and though it is tragic they never were truly together... I do think it is one of the reason Sasuke doesnt live with Sakura. its one of the reasons Naruto never comes home and sleeps in a separate room, but when Sasuke calls him he is always there. and thats why they have soft spots for each others children. I think they accepted they lives although both would be happier to be a couple.
so, yeah.

an in-depth breakdown of b*ruto episode 178
sorry i’m late i was lost on the path of life
tl;dr yeah ok i can have my hopes and dreams about what specifically i would want but. BUT. honestly yeah the episode was more or less what i expected would actually be in it from the preview, so i can’t complain. i still sobbed!!! that’s all i really wanted!!
time to rewatch it! (warning: long post. LOL)
obviously this is nothing new but i still can’t get over how nice the exterior to the nara household is, good for them. i don’t think i noticed the solar panel before? good for them!
i’m entertained at how the episode does open with shikadai tying his hair as he walks, i just think it’s neat. i love how the camera frames it like seeing a nara with their hair down is something forbidden we’re not mean to see
temari has purple slippers i dedicate her commitment to her favorite color. (also i am Just Saying... purple........ the bisexual flag--)
yeahhhh ok so. i get the need for wanting to frame the narrative like this, but this really doesn’t make any sense. shikadai is 12, and is also a chuunin, like... he should know by now that his dad is always kinda a mess on this day of the year, and why that is. and even if he honestly really did just forget, the fact that he’s still asking his dad why he’s not at work while looking at the way his parents are dressed... did this not clue you in or what????
the fact that shikamaru’s up and ready (i really don’t think he gets much sleep on this day, every year...), and it’s shikadai who’s just getting up. i do think it’s cute that we do get to see a tiiiiiny bit of temari’s parenting that doesn’t involve being an out of character irrationally angry woman when she tells shikadai to not come crying to her when he’s late in getting ready, yeah that definitely sounds way more like her lol
temari says she told him about all of this the other day (shikadai blatantly forgot, he tries to pretend he didn’t but she doesn’t press him for it)... that does make me emotional thinking like. she is pretty painfully aware of how hard this is on shikamaru, and days in advance told shikadai about it, to try to make sure he understands what his father is going through........ she really does care about him so, so much.
i said this based off the preview, but... i would like to interpret that temari is purposefully doing the dishes(/rest of house chores) to give him space to grieve.......
the fact that while explaining what today is, shikamaru has to get up, leave the room, and talk while not facing his family, as if he wouldn’t be able to say the words as easily while looking at them........ god. that. that hurts.
\
tsunade being the one to give this speech kinda feels random? like yeah she was the one that was kage during the war but...? i do feel like it would have been more fitting to have naruto say the speech since the whole entire point of the war was to protect him (and bee) but ????? ok
no one in the uzumaki family talks during this episode which is fine by me LOL. i would assume the memorial is on the day the war ended (which would also make it naruto’s birthday/memorial of the kyuubi invasion) but if it is, it’s never stated. maybe it’s the day the war started, idk
the collection of people up front feels pretty random??? kakashi as the previous hokage, sure, guy i guess because of how important his contribution the war against madara was and also because he is kakashi’s husband, shizune kinda has to be there if tusnade is, but... iruka? like yeah he is vital to the narrative, but to konoha? he is the headmaster of the academy i think now so i guess...? but then? ibiki??? anko??? i say this as someone that REALLY loves anko, she was my favorite character as a kid and i still love her but,,, huh? SHE WAS KNOCKED OUT DURNG THE WHOLE WAR!!??!?
then you see everyone that was in naruto’s class + team guy + sai except hinata is in the crowd. which of course to the narrative, to us the readers, those are the main characters (if you ignore how more or less everyone was super shafted throughout all of part 2) but!!! team guy’s only real connection to the rest of them is that they took the chuunin exams together, and neji and hinata were are cousins. that’s about it. was it that specifically all of these characters made such a contribution to the war compared to every other single shinobi from konoha that lived ??????
shikamaru staring up to the sky did made my heart clench... no matter how different he is now than he was when he was a 12 year old genin...... i do feel like he’s never entirely ditched his true self of just wanting to stare at the clouds all day.... i’m not entirely sure what the intent was here, but i’m sure there’s supposed to be some symbolism here. the sky is actually nearly entirely clear (the way is framed, there’s only a tiny cloud in the corner,) and then he closes his eyes and hums. maybe it’s supposed to be about the closure he gets in this episode...
\
ok and then here’s ao cool whatever. since i only skim through b*ruto for the characters that i care about i do not really careeeee since i won’t watch again until something interesting happens to said characters that i care about LOL
?? who voiced the receptionist they sound familiar but i can’t place it at all
katasuke is the bitch that made the scientific ninja tool for b*ruto so he could cheat in the exam right
what is ao doing here. is he supposed to be doing something evil. it sure looks that way
... who is the glasses orange scarf guy??? he kinda looks like a mix between udon and ebisu and aoba but i know he’s not any one of them lol
\
TEMARI AND KARUI STANDING NEXT TO EACH OTHER... i don’t think in any media they’ve ever??? ACTUALLY TALKED TO EACH OTHER???? BUT THEY SHOULD BE CLOSE FOR THE OBVIOUS REASON....... I’LL TAKE THESE CRUMBS THOUGH THANK YOU
OKKKKK admittedly like. in terms of Pleasing Me, Personally, it’s a damned if you do, dammed if you don’t situation like.... they do kinda HAVE to acknowledge that neji died during the war so. i appreciate that hinata like........ cares. i guess. i’ll try to not post the whole rant about why neji’s death was (logistically how he died aside) narratively and thematically absolute bullshit, kishi (i believe) saying that neji died so he could play cupid for naruto and hinata like!!! fuck off with that shit!!! maybe if it wasn’t for the goddamn “naruto-kun’s big warm manly hand” line i would feel a little bit actual sad but no.
WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOSHINO AND CHOUZA HELLO!?!?!?!? COULD YOU REALLY NOT HAVE PUT THEM IN THE CROWD??
ino also has an unnamed mother that the anime made up that i believe was only in like a single episode (and was cameoed in RtN i think?) but she should still be like. Alive. so her too.
MITSUKI PLACING FLOWERS IS SO FUNNY TO ME LIKE YOU DO KNOW YOUR PARENT’S SUBORDINATE/DOUBLE CROSS TRAITOR WHATEVER DID CAUSE THE WAR RIGHT BFIOBU*EHW$
\
aaand. here’s shikamaru and ino’s conversation. i’m not sure if i can put this into words, but... just... the way that they talk to each other, the weight of 15+ years of sadness about this, the way that they just!! fully know what the other is going through, the way that they’ve known each other for their whole lives and survived through everything together, the way i feel like they’ve avoided talking about this topic as much as possible over the years, hell even during this conversation the way they’re almost bickering to avoid having to directly confront their feelings, but it is unavoidable.......
i also do wonder what their relationship with each other’s parents were while growing up: shikamaru does refer to inoichi as “inoichi-san” here, contrast to how their kids all call each other’s parents just “uncle” or “aunt”
siri play sad naruto flute.
ok since i did go back to rewatch the episode from shippuden right before watching this one for the first time i do wish a liiiittle less of the episode was about this flashback with the same reused footage like i get that they do have to put it in here but Still.
THE FACT THAT SHIKAMARU IS SMILING WHILE RECALLING WHAT HAPPENED, AND THAT THERE’S A LAUGH IN HIS VOICE........ I WANT TO CRY AGAIN
ino saying that it was so unfair how cool they looked in the end, and then giggles...... ino............. this must be so, so painful for her to recall, and yet.........
IT IS SO FUNNY HOW THEY SKIP OVER THE IMAGE OF SASUKE THERE AHAHAHAHA god i hated that so so much i can’t believe that’s manga canon. the line is perfectly fine and makes me cry just DO NOT RELATE IT TO SASUKE!!!! literally the only time they “”interact”” is when ino is introduced and ino just, for lack of a better word, glomps him???? THAT’S IT??? i feel like they might’ve changed it just because, well, you know the endgame pairings. but still. bye sasuke
damn you know what i do kinda wish they didn’t skip over the “get rid of that box before your mother finds it” part i AM curious as to what it was i mean it’s implied it’s something adult related so SP probably couldn’t show that on TV BUT!!!
ok ok all week i tried to not imagine what shikamaru and ino’s conversation would be since i wanted to go all “surprise me!!” BUT??? BUT. SHIKAMARU ASKING INO IF SHE THINKS THAT THEIR FATHERS HONESTLY, TRULY BELIEVED IN THEM?? HE’S BEEN THINKING ABOUT THAT ON EVERY SINGLE DAY THIS YEAR THESE PAST 15+ YEARS, AND SURELY IT’S ALWAYS BEEN AT THE BACK OF HIS MIND ALL THIS TIME!?!?! of course. OF COURSE HE WOULD FEEL THIS WAY!!! HE’D HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING FOR SURE OR EVER FINDING OUT!!! like of course we as the readers know that shikaku and inoichi absolutely 200% felt that way but... from his perspective... you know what i don’t even think this idea ever crossed my mind HOLD ON THAT IS THE SOUND OF MY HEART SHATTERING--
and then he just... smiles. says that he won’t let that get him down, since it’s not like they’ll ever find out anyways. sure, it’s been 15+ years, he has had to have largely come to terms with everything by now, but...... still....
then he talks about the idea that the day will come and leave everything in the hands of their sons (now looking over at team 10′s turn to place flowers) just like their dads did... it is worded like a question, but showtaro morikubo’s absolute masterful performance does. it does portray a tone like he is absolutely 100% sure that it’ll happen, one day...
i’ve said this before but. i KNOW shikamaru has definitely spent so much time thinking about this. sure it hasn’t ever really been brought up on-screen (yet), but....... i want to see him talking about a direct contrast on what his grand plan through life he thought of by age 12, ending with him passing away by old age. obviously he did a complete 180 on they type of person he wanted as a wife LOL. it is kinda brought up at the start of shikamaru hiden while he visits the grave, says he hasn’t found anyone he’d give his life to protect... (well. now he has a son where if you see the recent chapters he is very, VERY protective of.) but i would like to see this change in his character be directly be brought up and examined
........ that being SAID. i sure hope neither of them actually like. die. i’m GOOD, thank you. they sure as hell can’t until they’re ready to pass things down to their sons, at least. until then, absolutely zero narrative reason to do so, but...... still. we don’t need to make everything an EXACT copy of what happened in naruto you can let them live kthx
they both say “what kind of half-baked response is that!” and then laugh just. I LOVE THEM SO SO MUCH TEAM 10 IS FOREVER
/
there is some symbolism in how ao walks over from a really dark shadowy area into the light when he decides that he has to pay his respects...
i do like how he does reflect on how he really should have come here earlier, but better late than never i suppose
i was expecting a... more elaborate explanation for how he lived??? especially since he was standing RIGHT NEXT to shikaku and inoichi... he just. happened to survive for whatever reason while every single other person died on impact
that survivor’s guilt does hurt to see
i do like seeing how he chooses to do something with his life, aside from being a shinobi, and live it to the fullest for the sake of everyone that died in the explosion. that’s nice
/
ino saying “i’m sure are fathers are happy!” AAAAAAAAAAA
IN HINDSIGHT....... I ABSOLUTELY SOULD’VE PREDICTED SOMEONE WOULD DROP A “YOU LOOK SO MUCH LIKE YOUR FATHER” AT SOME POINT IN THE EPISODE...... and. i did kinda chuckle, because like, no shit duh lmao. i’m sure shikamaru heard that all the time as a kid!!! and hell, i’m sure he still gets it from time to time over the years up to this day. BUT LIKE... SHIKAMARU’S FACE. HE LOOKS LIKE THAT, RIGHT NOW, IT’S ACTUALLY SOMETHING HE REALLY, REALLY NEEDED TO HEAR. LET ME CRY
hearing shikamaru say oyaji, and then the way his tone suddenly shifts to something very... quiet and somber? when he says “nara shikaku”..... something about that. man.... also it’s hard to see but there is a sweat drop on his face as he says all of this...
“sometimes, i end up wondering...” don’t lie to yourself. you think about this so, so much........
the flashback where ao says “listen to me calmly” when he says the bomb is coming this way sure reminds me of ino telling shikamaru to stay calm as she tells him that his son has a bomb around his neck
THE ADDED PART OF THE FLASHBACK WITH THEIR VERY LAST MOMENTS...... THE WAY THEY’RE SMILING AND JUST??? BELIEVE IN THEIR KIDS IN THE VERY END. just like how it’s described in shikamaru hiden where the narrative says that shikaku was a shinobi until his very last breaths-- actually, no. in the very end he was a father.......
“THEY BELIEVED IN YOU, WITHOUT A HINT OF DOUBT.”
AAA?A?AAAAAAAAA?A?A?A??A!??!!??!!
INO STARTS TEARING UP BUT I CALL ABSOLUTE BS THAT SHIKAMARU WOULDN’T ALSO JUST BURST ONTO TEARS ON THE SPOT, HE MAY BE 32 WHATEVER YEARS OLD NOW BUT... HE IS STILL SUCH A CRYBABY AT HEART, HIS ENTIRE CIRCLE OF LOVED ONES KNOW THIS.
you know who DID start crying though??? ME
/
i do wonder, is this the same hillside that shikamaru went to after asuma’s death...? (only in the manga tho, the anime had him on a rooftop instead)
is that??? someone watching them in the back left?? when shikadai finds him? i cannot tell what that is
i am. trying to follow temari’s logic of telling shikadai to go find shikamaru and... not also going with him?? i mean i figured from the preview that, yeah it does look like it’s only the two of them, but... i can’t come up with a reason. not a super big deal but. obviously my heart yearns for that shikatema content that’s ok i can write my own fanfic i guess!!!!
also like...... i imagine it can’t be THAT hard to find him, i’m sure that he only has a small handful of Spots Good For Coping(™) when he just needs to be by himself, that i would Think his wife would know where they are. and said wife would tell shikadai. but idk
after all of this, shikamaru wants to just treat his son to go eat out whatever he wants...!! what a good father
....... now like. the logic of “temari is currently making dinner and that’s why she’s a) not there and b) told shikadai to go fetch is father” would make perfect sense. but... if they’re going out to get food then... no?? shikadai would interject to say so if that was the case..... that makes this all make no sense seriously what the hell is she doing
i do wish that like. shikadai like.... uh. actually learned about more shikaku?? this scene is more brief than i thought it would be idk i felt like it would be part of the middle of the episode and not at the end, oh well. he’ll find out in due time
THAT BEING SAID...  STILL. THE ENDING WHERE HE JUST CARES SO SO SO SO MUCH ABOUT SHIKADAI!!!! WONDERING IF HE’S WATCHING HIS BACK!!! I LOVE THEM I LOVE THEMMMMM
/
not quite sure whatever ao is doing at the end of the episode???? IS IT EVIL??? i mean like that it’s him catching a leaf seems like he’s going against konoha but i mean konoha fucking sucks so. that is not evil i guess LOL
whatever not like i’ll care to actually find out!!!!! anyways let me know when the nara family (or anyone adjacent to them) does anything so i can care LOL
in conclusion. good shit.

Inquiring Minds Want To Know [one-shot]
Blanket Fic Disclaimer
Original Prompt by: Anonymous
" you know how men rate girls on the scale of their hotness? And that girls do the same? But the difference is that men are scaled not on their hotness, but on the size of their penis" I read this line somewhere and was hoping if you can make a fic related to it? Cause that would be awesome 😂😂”
Author’s Note: As promised during Evil Author Day, my goal is to actually finish some of my WIPs this year. So, here’s one that a lot of people have been asking about.
Warning: Total crack. Like seriously. It’s going into the Poor Judgement ‘verse along with the other ridiculous stuff I come up with.
Beta Reader: *None but me and my editing software :)

⁂ ⁂ ⁂
“And, it’s official!” Sakura declares, pouring the last bit of sake into her cup before raising it in front of her. “The Fourth Annual Sexy Wives of Konoha Summit is now in session. Kanpai!”
The rest of the women in the back booth of the izakaya raise their own porcelain cups and chorus, “Kanpai!” before tipping back the alcohol.
“Can I just say, I think our summit is a lot more fun than the Kage summit?” Tenten suggests.
“Definitely,” Temari agrees. “More alcohol, which I’m in favor of.”
“And we probably have more interesting stuff to talk about,” Karui decides.
“Does anyone actually know what they’re talking about?” Ino wants to know.
“Something about tariffs,” Hinata replies. “Or…sheep, I think. Maybe both.”
“Or aliens,” Sakura submits.
“Or aliens.”
“You know what they should be talking about?” Ino wants to know. “Better footwear for shinobi. I mean, seriously, the athletic sandals we used to wear as genin? Do you know how much blood and muck I used to get between my toes? It’s a nationwide crisis, is what it is.”
“Yeah!” Manako agrees. “Screw aliens.”
“Or preferably don’t,” Sakura muses. “Since that’s how you get god-tier ninja prone to insanity and several lifetimes of angst on repeat.” Everyone glances at her curiously and her clears her throat. “Never mind.”
The other women murmur their agreements, clink their cups, and drink deep again.
Ino glances at her watch. “So how long do you think we have?”
“Until Sai instigates a fight between Naruto and Sasuke, and one or both of them go flying out of the Hokager Tower,” Sakura replies sagely.
Temari shakes her head. “You know, there are days when I think I married the biggest pain in the ass, and then I remember who you married.”
“Are those the days you take a break from bullying Shikamaru to stuff him with food?”? Ino teases.
“I wouldn’t have to stuff him with food if the idiot would just eat during the day.”
“Naruto’s the same,” Hinata sighs. “They’re so busy all the time. And it’s starting to affect the children. Boruto’s been acting out more and more since Naruto became the Hokage. And Himawari’s entered to ‘no’ stage.”
“I know how to fix that one,” Karui says. “If she keeps saying no, ask her if she wants something sweet. When she ‘nopes’ herself out of a treat a few times, that will stop.
“Augh! Are you kidding?!” Ino interrupts suddenly. “Are we seriously talking about our husbands and kids?”
“What’s wrong with that?” Sakura asks.
“Besides the fact we always talk about our husbands and kids? Come on, ladies, get it together! Just because we have babies now doesn’t make us any less badass. Let’s live it up!”
“Four more terrifying words were never uttered,” Temari says.
“Gai in a thong,” Manako offers without missing a beat.
Tenten and Karui spit out the drinks they were sipping, while Ino and Sakura groan. Even Hinata gives a bit of a shudder.
“I stand corrected,” the blond woman says, tipping her own drink in acknowledgement.
“I’m both intensely curious and terrified of the thoughts in your head,” Sakura informs the Inuzuka woman. “And I’ve been a medic in warzones.”
“We all have our little talents,” Manako says. “So—what’s the plan for tonight? Drinking games?”
“Obviously,” Ino says. “But how can we make it more fun?”
“We could go to the Hokage Rock and draw all over Naruto’s face. Not like doesn’t have it coming.”
“How can we make it more fun without getting arrested,” Sakura amends, rolling her eyes.
“Who’s going to arrest you? You’re a hero of Konoha.”
“We could do karaoke,” Tenten suggests. “There’s a new place that opened a few blocks away.”
“No one wants to hear me sing,” Temari says, while Hinata desperately shakes her head; she still tends to avoid any kind of public attention.
“All that stuff sounds complicated,” Karui says. “And it involves more walking around than I feel like tonight.”
“Assuming you can even walk at the end of the night.”
“That too.”
“What about Truth or Dare?” Manako offers, all would-be-innocence. “That’s always a crowd pleaser.”
That earns a few groans.
“That’s so predictable,” Ino complains. “We seriously can’t come up with anything else?”
“Well, we could do ‘Never Have I Ever’, but somebody’s husband officially blacklisted that game two years ago.”
Everyone looks at Hinata, who shrugs. “I still don’t know why he did that. Something about village morals.”
“If it involved anyone affiliated with Team 7, I don’t want to know,” Tenten says decisively.
“Now that that’s settled,” Manako nods and leers at Ino. “Truth or dare?”
“Oh my god, are we actually doing this?” she groans, and throws back her sake. “Okay. Fine. Truth.”
“Lame,” Sakura accuses.
“I’ll remind you when it’s your turn.”
Manako, after thinking about it a few moments, grins. “Alright. I’ve got one: if Sai wanted to roleplay during sex, who or what would you want him to role play as?”
Ino’s jaw drops. “Are you kidding me?”
“Wow, she went right for the dirty stuff on the first go,” Tenten guffaws.
“And you’re surprised by this?” Temari quips.
“Anytime now, Ino-pig.”
“I’m going to get you back for this.”
“You’re stalling,” Manako singsongs. “Do I need to come up with a penalty dare?” She grins, sharp canines giving her a wolfish look.
“No!” Ino snaps, rightly wary of any dare the older woman might conceive of. She purses her lips for a moment, cheeks still burning bright, and then holds her head up as if deciding she won’t be embarrassed by this. “I’m the daimyo’s virginal daughter and Sai’s the court artist commissioned to paint my portrait, only as soon as we’re alone he seduces me. Only we have to be completely quiet or we’ll get caught.”
The other women giggle a little at that.
“That seems very well thought out,” Manako says. “Also, kind of tame for what I expected from you.”
“What exactly did you expect, some kind of dominatrix fantasy?” Ino grumbles. “Sai’s very literal. It’s hard to get him to pretend things outside of what he knows.”
“That sounds an awful lot like it’s something you’ve actually done.”
“Forehead, truth or dare,” Ino orders, the abruptness more telling than an actual verbal answer.
Manako sniggers as Sakura rolls her eyes, folds her arms as if expecting a challenge, and replies, “Dare.”
“Coward.”
“Bite me.”
They stick their tongues out at each other.
“Fine. Wimp out. I dare you to…” Ino casts about for a moment, and then smirks. “I dare you to do a body shot off Hinata’s chest.”
“What?!” the Hokage’s wife squeaks as the other women roar with laughter.
“Now who’s going right for the dirty stuff?” Manako jeers. “Although I can’t say I disapprove.”
“That’s not…why would you…?” Hinata looks like there might be steam coming out of her ears.
“Relax, Hinata,” Sakura grumbles. “I’m not going to do something you’re uncomfortable with, and she knows it.” She juts her chin out at her best friend. “What’s the penalty truth?”
“Does Sasuke ever motorboat you?” Ino asks immediately. “Or try to, considering your lack of breasts.”
“Shots fired,” Tenten murmurs to Temari, who nods with a smirk.
“I hate you,” Sakura mutters, mortified. “And no. He doesn’t. Mostly because I don’t actually think he knows what that means.”
“I really, really believe that,” Manako says honestly.
“You have an awful lot to say tonight, Manako—how about you? Truth or dare.”
“Truth,” she replies, sipping from her cup. “I have no shame.”
Sakura raises an eyebrow at that, and then smiles in a good approximation of the older woman’s own merciless smirk. “What is the sappiest, most lovey-dovey, non-sexual thing you and Kakashi have ever done?”
Manako splutters, sake going everywhere as she coughs and tries to breathe.
“Penalty,” she gasps out, glaring at Sakura.
“So much for no shame,” Temari says.
“I dare you to…” Sakura thinks about it and then grins, “I dare you to let Tenten cut and style your hair with just a kunai.”
There’s a chorus of impressed ohs.
Manako glares. “I just got it back to the length I like since the boys were born.”
“Well, you could always just answer the question from before…”
Manako huffs and climbs unapologetically across the table to sit in front of Tenten. “Well, go on.”
“Bold of you to assume I have a kunai,” the other woman says.
“You own a weapons shop and you’re a shinobi. Of course you have a kunai.”
“I was planning on a night of drinking with the girls, not battle.” When everyone gives her unimpressed looks, she pouts and digs a blade out from the hidden pocket of her pants. “I was going to leave it home…”
“Sure you were,” Karui says, earning Manako’s attention.
“You know, you’ve been uncharacteristically quiet this whole time,” she says, frowning as Tenten begins to consider her back-length tresses.
“Why interrupt good entertainment?”
“Interrupt this—truth or dare.”
“Dare.”
“Take off your underwear and hang it from the light fixture for the rest of the night.”
“Who says I’m wearing underwear?”
“Then your bra. We know you’re wearing one of those, we see the padding.”
“I don’t have padding. All this gloriousness is me,” Karui retorts, cupping her breasts. “And you’re just daring me that because you want to see my tits.”
“Guilty,” Manako agrees.
“Sex and underwear. You’re kind of an unimaginative lot, aren’t you?” Temari wants to know as Karui begins shifting and shimmying her bra out from beneath her sleeveless dress.
“Sex and underwear and impromptu kunai make-overs,” Sakura corrects.
“If I come out of this looking like a porcupine, I’m sending the twins to visit you every day for a month,” Manako vows.
“Oi! Why me? Tenten’s the one cutting your hair!”
“You’re the one who came up with the idea.”
“My turn,” Karui interrupts as she drapes her brassier from the lamp above their table. Across the room, the few patrons still remaining murmur at the scandal. “Temari, truth or dare.”
“Dare,” Temari says.
The former Kumonin takes a few seconds to think about it, and then reaches for her purse to remove a tiny vial.
“This is Killer Wasabi,” she says with a smirk. “The hottest sauce available on the continent.”
“And you just happen to carry it around?” Ino asks.
“It’s not my fault the food in Konoha is so bland.”
“And yet I’ve never seen you refuse any of it.”
“That would be rude,” Karui says, affecting primness before her expression becomes mischievous again. She returns her attention to Temari. “This recipe was created by the first Raikage, and then passed down from teacher to student across the generations. It’s so hot it can make a grown man pass out if consumed in large quantities.” She places the vial on the table. “So that’s what I dare you to do. Take a swig of this straight.”
Temari blinks.
“That’s it?” she deadpans.
“Bii-sensei challenged the Fourth Raikage to take a gulp of it straight from the bottle and the man cried.”
“Shit. He didn’t even cry when he got his arm cut off, I heard,” Manako murmurs.
Temari considers the tiny vial, shrugs, and then upends it into her mouth.
Everyone stares.
“You’re not…you’re not human, are you?” Tenten murmurs.
“Are we sure it’s your brother that was possessed by a demon and not you?” Manako wants to know.
“Not possible,” Karui declares. “That’s just…not possible!”
“I went to the dentist today and can’t feel my tongue,” Temari confesses, earning groans and shouts from the others.
“Cheater!”
“Treachery!”
“You suck.”
“You didn’t ask,” Temari says with a shrug and turns to Tenten. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“How old were you when you lost your virginity?”
“Temari!”
“I’m just continuing the trend of inappropriate questions,” the former Sunanin shrugs.
“Fess up, Tenten!” Ino cheers, spilling a bit of sake as she chugs it.
“Personally, I wouldn’t trust any dare Temari comes up with,” Karui says.
“Fine,” Tenten hedges. “I was seventeen.”
“Really?” Ino purrs. “Who was it?”
“I’m not telling,” Tenten says primly.
“Was it Neji?”
“Don’t be insensitive!” Sakura hisses, smacking her.
“Ow! Watch it with the hamfists!”
Tenten is quick to change the subject. “Hinata—truth or dare?”
“Truth,” Hinata murmurs warily, as if not sure which is likely to be the worse choice.
“What was the most embarrassing thing you’ve shouted during sex?”
Hinata squeaks, pressing her flushed face into her hands.
“You’re going to give her a nosebleed,” Karui says.
“She could have chosen dare.”
“Do you actually expect her to answer that?”
Hinata mumbles something into her palms.
“What was that?” Ino asks. “Didn’t quite catch that.”
“‘Cauliflower’,” the Hokage’s wife mutters, only a hair louder but still audible.
Her friends all stare at her for a beat, trying to parse what they just heard, and then—
“EEEHHHH?!?”
“Seriously?!” Ino shrieks.
“What the hell, really?” Manako laughs. “What even…?”
“I was pregnant,” Hinata mumbles. “And craving.”
“Apparently,” Temari drawls.
“How did hubby take that?” Manako asks.
“He…he, um, went to buy some.”
“Actually?” Sakura want to know. “Or do you mean he sent a clone?”
“Um. No, he actually…he got all flustered, and confused,” Hinata admits. “And ran off to the market. He came home with about two dozen of them.”
“Cauliflowerus-interruptus,” Manako shakes her head. “I hope it was good cauliflower.”
“It’s cauliflower,” Tenten drawls. “There’s no way that’s better than sex.”
“Hey, food can be better than sex,” Karui protests. “And not only when you’re pregnant.”
“Well now I know what we should ask you next time you choose truth…”
“Except it’s not your turn to ask.”
All eyes go to Hinata.
“Hinata, ask me something so that I can go next,” Manako orders.
“If you go next, I won’t be the one answering,” Karui promises.
“Um…” Hinata bites her lips, and then nods and asks Manako, “Who was your first love?” she asks.
“Izumi Uchiha,” Manako replies without any hesitation or embarrassment.
“What, really?” Ino asks, eyes wide.
“Did I stutter?”
“That’s…that makes sense actually,” Sakura says. “You told me once that you’d loved an Uchiha, but I thought…I mean, you kind of implied…”
“That it was a guy?”
“Pretty much.”
“Contrary to popular belief, not all Uchiha are men,” Manako replies.
“You wouldn’t know it the way the history books are written,” Sakura mutters.
“Temari! Have I got a dare for you—”
“Truth,” the other woman says instantly. “As if I would be stupid enough to choose one of your dares.”
“I’m wounded. But alright, fine. Let me asks you the most important truth I can think of.”
Temari raises an eyebrow, but her face remains as stolid as ever. “Fine.”
But Manako doesn’t speak. Instead, she holds the tips of her index fingers together and then slowly starts to pull them apart.
For a moment no one knows what she is doing, but as the distance grows between the fingers—three inches, four inches—comprehension dawns on everyone.
“Oh my god!” Sakura sputters, before pressing her hand against her mouth to muffle her laughter.
Temari doesn’t answer or change her expression as Manako continues to move her fingers apart—five inches, six inches—and Hinata squeaks, cheeks filled with so much blood she appears about to faint. Seven inches, eight—
“Okay, now I’m actually getting worried for you,” the older woman says.
“You have no idea,” Temari replies, leaning back with her arms crossed and a satisfied smirk on her face.
“I can’t hear this!” Ino wails. “He’s like…ugh, he’s like my brother and you just…that image! I will never get that image out of my head.”
“Shit,” Karui says. “How are you still walking upright, woman?”
Even Tenten looks impressed.
“Okay, we have to get this out of the way right now, so no one else decides to draw it out over a bunch of Truths,” Ino says. “Over and done with. On a scale of one to ten—”
“On a scale of one to Shikamaru,” Manako sniggers.
Ino shoots her a dirty look. “On a scale of one to ten—”
Sakura interrupts. “The average length is about five inches. It’s beyond the norm to have a penis larger than—”
Hinata yelps in protest, and Karui gives her an unimpressed look. “You’ve had two children and copious amounts of sex, and the word ‘penis’ bothers you?”
“It’s…it’s not a very nice word,” the Hokage’s wife mutters, embarrassed.
“It’s not a very nice-looking body part, but it gets the job done.”
“Especially if you’re Temari, apparently,” Tenten chuckles.
“She’s got a point, though. Sometimes I wish I was only into women, so I didn’t have to look at a penis,” Manako says. “It’s one thing to know it’s there—and hey, I benefit greatly from having a partner that has one—but given the choice…” She seesaws her right hand up and down. “Honestly, I could do without.”
“You’d still be with Kakashi even if he didn’t have a dick?” Karui asks, surprised.
“Of course! You don’t know what that mouth is capable of—”
“Does he even have a mouth?” Sakura wonders.
“—and even if that wasn’t the case? Dildos exist for a reason. Whether you have a dick or not,” Manako decides. The raises an eyebrow at Karui. “Are you saying if Chōji was in an accident tomorrow and lost his balls, you’d stop being with him?”
“What? No! And besides, what accident would that be? He barely even goes out on missions anymore.”
“Actually, there are several ways a man can lose—” Sakura begins.
“I wasn’t actually asking,” Karui rolls her eyes.
“I think we’re all getting wildly off-topic here,” Ino interjects. “Now! On a scale of one to—”
“—Shikamaru,” Manako and Tenten say at the same time, grinning irreverently.
“—where do our guys fall?”
“I think that’s an inaccurate rating system,” Sakura protests. “Size can’t be the only factor.”
“Yeah, what about girth?” Manako wants to know. “It’s all well and good if a guy’s eight inches long, but if his dick’s as thin as a pencil, it’s pretty much useless.”
“And what about stamina? It’s not like it moves on its own,” Karui adds.
“Oh! And proper aim! Or, you know, additional use of fingers. Nothing worse than sex with someone who thinks penetration is the only way to get a woman off,” Tenten adds,
“Gods, this is turning into some kind of quadratic equation,” Ino complains.
“It’s not that hard,” Sakura protests. There are several laughs at that, and she rolls her eyes. “Pun not intended. But anyway, let’s say we have four categories—length, girth, stamina and miscellaneous—”
“What about…” Hinata begins, her voice barely above a whisper, and then she adds, “What about the feelings you have for your partner? That…I’m sure that makes a difference.”
The other women consider, and the nod in agreement.
“Alright, so we have five criteria, so if we put those out of ten, average them out and then assign them a value on the spectrum of one to—”
—Shikamaru,” Karui, Manako and Tenten chorus.
“Stop that!” Ino snaps.
“—then it would be more accurate,” Sakura finishes.
“If you’re still able to do math, you’re not drunk enough,” Temari informs Sakura.
“You have no idea what I’m capable of when I’m drunk,” Sakura retorts. “And besides—I don’t get drunk.”
“Oh, so that wasn’t you Sasuke was carting home from dinner last weekend, slung over his shoulder and staring at his ass?” Ino challenges. “Hm, must have been some other pink haired lush with a mutant forehead.”
They glare at each other.
“9/10,” Sakura says at last. “There’s some stuff Sasuke’s a bit shy about or doesn’t bother with, but everything else makes up for it.”
“9/10 for Sai, too,” Ino agrees.
“You’re just saying that to compete with me.”
“Says you! My husband happens to be an excellent lover.”
“Except when he accidentally says something insulting and ruins the mood, I’m guessing,” Sakura says. “He does it in normal conversation, so I’m pretty sure he’s done it during sex too.”
“Stop thinking about my husband having sex!”
“Can’t think about her husband, can’t think about her not-brother…who can we think about having sex?” Manako wants to know and Tenten sniggers.
“Choji’s an 8,” Karui says, interrupting the argument. “But that’s just because he keeps wanting to bring food into bed. And then one or both of us gets distracted.”
“Ugh!” Ino cries. “Stop telling me things I can’t unhear!”
“Shikamaru’s an 8 too,” Temari says, earning surprised glances. “And only because he falls asleep a lot.”
“Oh, Naruto does that too,” Hinata agrees. “They’re both so busy at work.”
“So Naruto’s also an 8?”
“No. He’s a 10.”
“No way Naruto’s a 10,” Sakura insists.
“Yeah, he’s got to have something wrong with him,” Ino agrees. “ I mean…he’s Naruto.”
“10,” Hinata maintains firmly, and whether it’s out of loyalty or reality, everyone senses it’s better not to ask.
“Well, Kakashi’s an easy 10,” Manako says. “But that’s just because he has more experience than any of your men.”
“Whatever, you old crone.”
“Now that we’ve established all of that,” Temari interrupts, “I believe it was my turn to ask…” She trails off, considering her next victim, and then smirks at Hinata. “Truth or Dare?”
“T-truth.”
“Was your wedding night the first time Naruto saw you naked?” Temari wants to know.
The other women burst into laughter.
“Why are you doing this to me?” Hinata groans.
“You could always choose dare.”
“Which would be…?”
Temari considers, and then nods to herself. “Pick someone in this room and lick their cheek.”
“I volunteer,” Manako says immediately.
“You would,” Sakura mutters.
“You’re full of hair,” Ino points out. “She’d probably get a hairball.”
“That’s cats,” Manako sniffs, shaking her head.
“Stop moving if you don’t want me cutting off an ear,” Tenten warns her.
“It wasn’t.”
The words are so quiet, they almost go unnoticed.
Almost.
“It wasn’t?” Temari repeats, staring intently at Hinata.
“You mean you gave it up before you got married?” Ino blurts out. “Wow, Hinata, I never knew you had it in you—”
“No! That wasn’t—we didn’t—Temari asked about the first time he saw me naked, not when we slept together,” Hinata complains, normally pale skin darkened by a blush and her pale eyes flashing with a hint of temper. “And that night wasn’t the first time. We were out on a mission once when we were chunin and I was meditating by the river and I didn’t have clothes on.”
“And he barged right in?” Sakura supplies. “Pervert.”
“He didn’t know I was there,” Hinata protests.
“Sure he didn’t…”
Hinata folds her arms and frowns. “Ino, truth or dare.”
“Oi! I make one comment and now you’re going to pick on me?”
Hinata raises an eyebrow.
“Truth,” Ino says, not quite trusting the usually innocent Hinata; it’s always the quiet ones that are the most dangerous, after all.
The Hokage’s wife ponders, and then a truly uncanny smile appears on her face, one that would look more at home on Naruto than her. “I heard somewhere that you perfected the Yamanaka technique of switching souls within bodies. So have you ever—I mean, on purpose—switched with Sai…you know…during?”
Ino’s jaw drops.
As does everyone else’s.
Sakura is the first to speak. “Well, I never would have saw that one coming.”
She almost sounds impressed.
“You have a dirty, dirty mind,” Manako says. “Good for you.”
“I think you broke Ino,” Temari points out, and everyone glances at the other blond woman who looks as if her brain has short-circuited.
“I think that’s a yes,” Sakura says, eyes gleaming with mischief. “She only over looks like that when she’s been caught out.”
“No way,” Karui says in awe. “So you’ve actually—?”
Ino snaps out of. “You’re all being ridiculous.”
“That’s not a no.”
“Stop it!”
“That’s a yes!”
“No it’s not!”
“So you actually know what it’s like to have sex as a guy?” Manako wants to know. “This I have to hear.”
“No, I don’t—stop putting words in my mouth! Truth! I choose a penalty truth!”
“Well-played,” Temari informs Hinata, who smiles sheepishly, before asking Ino, “If you could sleep with any of the Kage, past or present, who would you choose?”
“Nice one,” Sakura approves.
Ino thinks about it, and then says, “Kurutsuchi.”
Everyone gasps at that.
“Seriously?” Manako asks.
“Did I stutter?” Ino shoots back, echoing her words back.
“I thought you were completely straight,” Tenten says, surprised.
“I am. But given the fact that everyone else is or was either ugly, old, creepy or evil, I stand by my choice. Especially since Hinata said sleep and didn’t necessarily say have sex with.”
“Boo,” Sakura accuses. “You’re not supposed to logic your way out of an embarrassing truth. In fact, you’re not supposed to be sober enough to logic your way out of an embarrassing truth.”
“I’m just that good,” Ino sniffs.
“In your own mind, maybe…”
“Shut up. No, wait. Don’t shut up. Truth or dare?”
“Didn’t you already ask her?” Karui wants to know.
“Shh! It’s bound to be a good one,” Manako interrupts her. By now, her hair has been chopped off into an uneven, bristly pixie cut, and Tenten is grumbling as she pushes long locks of hair off of herself.
“I hope the manager of this place doesn’t mind cleaning this up,” she mutters to herself. “Maybe I can give him a discount at my store or something…”
“Okay, okay, I’ve got one, I’ve got one,” Ino interrupts, waving her hands to make everyone else shut up. “Okay—Sakura. Imagine you get Sasuke to agree to have a threesome with you and another guy—"
“Tch! Sure, in a parallel universe,” Sakura snorts, and then pauses, blinking. “On second thought, having met the Sasuke from a parallel universe, I think he might actually be into that sort of thing.”
“Wow,” Temari says with a blink. “I don’t know whether that’s hot or disturbing.”
“Hot,” Tenten decides.
“Disturbing,” Karui says at the same time.
“Both?” Hinata suggests tentatively.
“Both,” Manako says with a definitive note in her voice.
“All of you shut up, I haven’t finished my question!” Ino snaps, and the other women glance back at her. She renews her grin at Sakura. “So—say you get Sasuke to agree to a threesome with another guy, but it has to be a guy from your genin squad—”
“Ino!”
“—who would it be?”
“That’s not fair!” Sakura protests. “Three of them are married—”
“Kakashi and I aren’t married, we’re living in sin,” Manako interjects.
“—to people sitting in this room!”
“Well, fine, if you’re going to whine about it—for the purposes of this truth we can include members of your chūnin squad, too.”
“That’s no different!”
“If you don’t tell the truth, you have to do the dare,” Ino sing-songs.
Cheeks burning and expression mutinous, Sakura spends a few seconds considering the lesser of two evils, and then sighs. “Fine. Kakashi.”
There’s a burst of uproarious laughter and squealing.
“No way!” Ino protests. “He’s so old!”
“He’s not old, he’s experienced,” Manako corrects with would-be-haughtiness. “And a girl could do worse.”
“It has nothing to do with that!” Sakura cries and goes, if possible, even more red. “It’s the choice that makes the most sense! If it were Naruto, he and Sasuke would forget all about me and start some ridiculous competition—probably measuring their dicks or something—”
Everyone laughs, and even red-faced and perpetually embarrassed Hinata cocks her head to one side as if to say, ‘fair point’.
“—and that would end in a fist-fight. Then there’s Sai, who would have a comment for everything, and Sasuke would take it as criticism, and that would end in a fistfight,” she goes on, ticking options off her fingers while Temari snorts and takes another sip of sake.
“—and Yamato-taichou would be so unbelievable uncomfortable he would pass out—”
“Also, didn’t Sasuke stab him once?” Temari wants to know.
“—yeah, exactly! I doubt he’d want to get it on with the guy who stabbed him.”
“I don’t know if that would make a difference. Sasuke’s stabbed Naruto half a dozen times, and Naruto would probably still be down to fu—”
“Manako, if you finish that sentence, I will slip cocoa into your food and watch you asphyxiate to death in front of me,” Sakura vows, glancing over Hinata with the urge to press her hands over the other woman’s ears.
“Doesn’t setting off a severe enough allergic reaction that is causes anaphylactic shock violate the Medic-Nin’s Oath?” Manako challenges, and then makes a face. “Huh. Say that ten times fast.”
“There are loopholes,” Sakura replies primly.
“Sure there are…”
“Why are we focusing on Sakura becoming a murderer, and not on the fact that she wants to bone her former jōnin instructor?” Karui wants to know.
“I never said I wanted to bone him! It was Truth or Dare question!”
“Hmph. I personally would have gone with the Dare…”
“I don’t know,” Ino muses slowly. “I guess it could be interesting. I mean, he does read those books all the time.” She shoots Manako a questioning look. “Or does that not carry over?”
The older woman grins wolfishly. “Oh, it does. It really, really does.”
“La-la-la, I can’t hear you,” Sakura sings. Forget putting her hands over Hinata’s ears, she’s clapped them so hard to her head that she feels a bit of suction between palm and ear.
A sudden explosion rips through the air, sending a shockwave through the entire restaurant; it’s strong enough to knock Karui’s brassier from the lamp fixture. Outside, violent purple and fiery orange light up the night, behind the ruins of the Hokage tower.
“I guess that’s our cue,” Sakura sighs, getting up.
“Husband wrangling time,” Ino agrees.
“Who’s getting the bill?” Karui wants to know.
Everyone exchanges glances, and quickly stick their forefingers on their nose, except for Manako, who’s investigating her shorn hair. Noticing them all, she groans.
“Oh, that’s nice. Pick on the girl without super ninja reflexes.”

Swift as Wind, Soft as Shadow
Chapter 1  Part I:  Expectations
It's been a few years since the last chunin exams, and the Kazekage has a proposal for the Hokage that might end up being bothersome for a lazy Leaf shinobi and the Kazekage's sister.
Written for ShikaTema Week 2019 Day 1: Chunin Exam
Note:  I do not own any aspect of Naruto.
Read it on Ao3.
Shikamaru was starting to get used to being summoned to the Hokage’s office alone.  As a genin, he had never cared much when he and his teammates were summoned to receive a mission assignment.  Things were different now that he was a chunin. Apparently the new rank meant he was responsible enough for solo missions or leading his own team.  Sometimes he was summoned simply to answer a question or give his opinion. Those meetings were always the most jarring. They felt like a waste of everyone’s time.  The Hokage had advisors like his father and Shizune, so she shouldn’t need the opinion of a kid like him. He was happy simply doing the grunt work of a shinobi, but this new Hokage was interested in incorporating him into her network.  It was a bit of a drag.
Shikamaru knocked and politely waited until he was bid to enter.  Lady Tsunade sat at her desk, piles of papers and scrolls arranged in some semblance of order before her.  Shizune stood holding Tonton behind her, and his father and Asuma stood before them.
“Ah, Shikamaru,” the Hokage greeted as though she hadn’t been expecting him.
“Lady Tsunade,” he returned, stepping forward.  His eyes glanced across his father and Asuma, trying to glean a sense of purpose from the two adults he knew best, but they gave no sign from their usual relaxed demeanors.
“Do you remember the last chunin exams?” Tsunade asked, not wasting any time.  Shikamaru’s eyes narrowed.
“They’re kind of hard to forget.”
“It’s been over two years, which is rather a long time to go without promoting any of our genin,” she continued.  “I have here a proposal from the Land of Wind asking to host a joint chunin exam with us.”
“This was their idea?”
“Yes.  I believe it’s an effort on the part of the new Kazekage to rebuild trust between our nations.”
“Or it’s a trap to get back at us for defeating them last time.”
“Several reliable sources in the Sand have confirmed that the Kazekage’s intentions are genuine,” Shikaku assured his son.
“Unfortunately, they also tell us that not everyone shares his views,” Asuma amended.
“Who is the new Kazekage anyway?”  He had heard rumors that the Sand had finally selected a new leader, but no official announcement had been made to the village.
“I believe you’ve met him,” Tsunade answered.  “Gaara, the Demon of the Desert.”
“Gaara?”  Shikamaru’s initial surprise settled into suspicion.  “Interesting choice, considering his history. I thought nobody in the Sand trusted him.  How did he become Kazekage?”
“He’s been working hard since the last chunin exams to repair relations amongst his people and the other nations.  Apparently something happened to him to give him a change of heart,” Shizune smiled.
Naruto…   That kid had a natural talent for making others want to do better.  Gaara falling under his influence wasn’t impossible. The last time Shikamaru had seen the Demon of the Desert, right after the failed mission to bring Sasuke back to the village, he had seemed much more in control of his rage.  But it was hard to shake the impression of his bloodthirstiness from the chunin exams and the attack on the Leaf. Coming face-to-face with him in Lee’s hospital room and seeing the deep hatred and murderous intent in his eyes was scarred into his mind.
“Shikamaru,” Tsunade continued, bringing his thoughts back to the present, “I believe it is in the village’s best interest to agree to this proposal.  Not only is it an opportunity to show the other nations the strength of our young shinobi, but it will also help cement Gaara’s and my positions as relatively new Kage while drawing our nations into an alliance.”
“Plus it will give us the chance to better monitor the situation in the Sand in case it’s really unstable,” he surmised.
“Right,” the Hokage agreed, standing.  “Shikamaru, I’d like you to be the Leaf’s representative for these exams.”
“What?  Why me? I’ve only been a chunin for a few years.”
“Unfortunately most of our jonin and more experienced chunin have other assignments,” Shizune explained.  “We don’t have very many options to work with.”
“This assignment is about more than just proctoring the exam,” Shikaku added.  “You’d be leading our diplomatic relationship with the Land of Wind. It’s a big responsibility.”
Yeah, and a lot of work , he thought.  What a drag!
“You are capable of reading the nuances of a situation and remaining aware of the big picture,” Tsunade explained.  “I know I can trust you to do what’s best for the village.”
His shoulders slouched in defeat.  The Hokage was entrusting him with a mission, and he could feel his father’s eyes as he waited for his answer.  As much as he didn’t want this responsibility, he knew he couldn’t to disappoint them.
“Alright,” he groaned, “I’ll do it.”
“Good,” Tsunade agreed, and he could tell she had known this would be the outcome as soon as she’d sent him the summons.  “In three days, you will meet the representative from the Sand at one of our outposts on the border to formally agree to host the exams.  I’m sending Asuma and a few other shinobi with as an honor guard, but it is important that we appear as non hostile as possible. This is meant to be an alliance, not an intimidation.  From there, I will leave it up to you and the Sand shinobi to determine where and how frequently you will meet to continue the preparations, though I will expect full reports after every meeting.  I want to know every detail that might tell us something about the state of the Land of Wind.”
“Yes ma’am,” he agreed halfheartedly.  Reports mean a lot of paperwork…
Shizune handed him a scroll with some more details about the assignment, and then he was dismissed.  They watched him leave, slouching under the weight of this work with a hint of despair in his eyes.
“I hope we’re not expecting too much from him,” Tsunade sighed once the door had closed behind him.
“Don’t worry, he can handle it,” Asuma promised, bemused.
“Give him the right motivation,” Shikaku agreed, “and he’ll be just fine.”
-----
Temari’s fingers drummed impatiently against her folded arms.  It was nearly noon, and there was still no sign of the group from the Leaf.  That made her nervous. What if they were preparing an ambush? They should have held this meeting on Wind territory, but Gaara was desperate to display measures of good faith between their nations.  In that vein of logic, he’d sent only her and Baki to this meeting. With just two of them, they’d be hard-pressed to escape if they were attacked. Gaara trusted the Leaf to reciprocate the good will, but the past few months had taught Temari not to trust anyone.
To say Gaara’s position as Kazekage was tenuous would be putting it lightly.  They couldn’t even be sure his guards were on his side, which had her and Kankuro constantly fretting about security risks.  Assassination attempts--unfortunately nothing new to them--remained startlingly frequent. And Gaara himself wasn’t making things easy.  He was careful to appear as non-threatening as possible to build trust, but in doing so, he often left himself exposed to attack. It was driving his siblings crazy trying to keep him safe.
“They’re going to be late,” Temari huffed.  She didn’t like being made to wait, especially when she thought this whole arrangement was a waste of her time.  There were plenty of other qualified shinobi who could play the part of exam coordinator. She ought to be back in the Sand coordinating missions and keeping an eye on Gaara’s enemies.  But the Kazekage had insisted she be the one to work with the Leaf, saying she was the only person he could trust to be aware of their situation and preserve his will in foreign diplomacy.  She knew he was trying to flatter her a little (which was a strange experience coming from a guy who used to threaten to kill her if he was upset), but he also had a point. She understood Gaara’s intentions and could represent him and their village loyally.  She had begrudgingly agreed to the assignment.
“Temari, relax,” Baki suggested.  “We have all day to work out this agreement.  It’s not a big deal if they’re a little late.”
“It’s rude,” she huffed, but she forced her fingers to stop their restless drumming.  She found it harder to relax now than when her littlest brother was a murder machine that might go on a rampage if you looked at him funny.  Baki, on the other hand, seemed more laid back. She suspected he’d felt like she did now back when he was one of her father’s advisors as well as the sensei of the Kazekage’s kids.  Now he had passed a lot of his responsibilities on to his pupils. She and Kankuro were the Kazekage’s new advisors, though they leaned heavily on Baki’s experience and advice. The rest of the council weren’t fans of handing so much power to a trio of teenagers, but they rarely showed their displeasure openly.  In some ways, she and Kankuro were proving themselves just as much as Gaara was.
“They’re here,” Baki observed.  Doing her best to brush off her stormy thoughts, Temari focused on the chakra signatures closing in on the outpost.  There were four, the typical number for a squad on assignment. That meant the party from the Leaf outnumbered them two to one.  She resisted the urge to grab her fan and strike an intimidating pose.
When they made it up the stairs to the meeting room, she was a little surprised that she recognized all of them.  Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane, chunin who often guarded the village gate. Asuma Sarutobi, son of the Third Hokage and former member of the Twelve Guardian Ninja.  And Shikamaru Nara, the lazy kid who embarrassed her during her own chunin exam but whose abilities she begrudgingly acknowledged. He always seemed to pop up when she had business with the Leaf.
“Sorry we’re late,” Asuma greeted, smiling disarmingly.  “I had some last-minute business to take care of in the village.”
Shikamaru rolled his eyes.  Evidently he didn’t think his sensei’s business was actually that important.
“No need to apologize,” Baki assured him.  “We barely got here before you did.”
It was a diplomatic lie.  Temari fought to keep her own eyes from rolling.
“Shall we get down to business?” Asuma asked, leading the way to a small table in the back of the room.  Izumo and Kotetsu remained by the door and window, standing guard. Or waiting to signal for an ambush…   Their presence didn’t make her feel any safer.  When had she become so paranoid?
“I trust you brought your copy of the agreement?” Baki asked.
“Of course.”  Shikamaru pulled a scroll out of one of the pockets in his vest and spread it on the table.  Baki did the same with an identical scroll they had carried with them from the Sand.
“As per the agreement worked out between our Kage,” Asuma summarized, pulling phrases from the contracts before them, “the Sand and the Leaf will share responsibility and authority in the next chunin exams, which will be held five months from today.  The Leaf will host the first portion, the Sand will host the second, and the final round shall be held on neutral territory between the two nations. All details will be negotiated between appointed representatives from each of our villages, with the Kazekage and Hokage having final authority.  Does this meet with your approval?”
“It does,” Baki agreed.
“And who is the Sand’s representative?”
“I am,” Temari declared.  “Temari of the Desert, daughter of the fourth Kazekage and sister of the fifth.”
She watched as Asuma wrote her name on the scrolls.
“And your representative?”
“Shikamaru Nara.”  He introduced himself simply, stifling a yawn.  Temari had suspected as much when she saw him here, though she was still a bit surprised.  He was notoriously lazy, and running the chunin exams would be a lot of work. Was he up to the task?
“Are we all in agreement then?” Asuma asked, glancing between the Sand shinobi.  Baki looked at Temari. She nodded, eyes on Shikamaru, daring him to back out like he had during their fight nearly three years ago.  He just shrugged.
“Sure,” he said, the epitome of indifference.  Her eyes narrowed. Working with him might get seriously annoying.
They signed the contracts, then shared a small lunch.  Asuma and Baki, more experienced with diplomatic small talk, carried most of the conversation.  Temari took the time to stew in her thoughts and observe Shikamaru as he picked at his food. She watched him with a mixture of frustration and fascination.  They hadn’t interacted much, but when they had, he managed to get under her skin. He always looked like he’d rather be anywhere else than where he was, even in the middle of battle, but she also knew he was sharply intelligent.  After all, he had nearly defeated her in their own chunin exams. He was craftier than he let on. She suspected even now he was listening intently to the conversation, interpreting secrets from what was said and what was concealed.
“It figures I’d be stuck with a crybaby like you,” she sighed.  If she had to work with him for the next five months, they’d better try and get along.
He glanced at her with his sharp, dark eyes, then shrugged, returning to his food.  “It’s a real drag, but basically I’m the only one with enough free time at the moment.  And when your Kage asks you to do something, you don’t say no.”
“Well don’t expect me to do your work for you.  I’m not exactly without other responsibilities, you know.”
“I figured,” he smirked.  “‘Daughter of the fourth Kazekage and sister of the fifth’, right?  Do you always put such emphasis on your lineage when introducing yourself?”
“There’s nothing wrong with being proud of your bloodline,” she huffed.  “Family histories are important in the Sand. You dad’s the advisor to the Hokage, right?  As his son, that’s something to be proud of.”
“Why?” he asked, grimacing a little.  “What my dad does has nothing to do with who I am.  I’m not my dad.”
“What about familial loyalty and pride?”
“You can be proud and loyal without making a point of it.  When you introduce yourself, you don’t need to include the whole history of your family, too.  Do you want people to judge you on the triumphs and mistakes of your ancestors? Because that sounds pretty messed up to me.  Why should people judge me on what someone else has done just because we share the same blood?”
Temari rolled her eyes.  He was stretching the point, and she was already tired of parrying his arguments.  Though she couldn’t help reflecting a bit on his words. When Gaara was unable to control his anger or the tailed beast inside him, she knew other people would look at her and Kankuro funny and distance themselves.  It wasn’t too significant since their father’s status as Kazekage shielded them somewhat from negative judgment, but the months after his death had shown her how unfair others’ opinions could be.
She shook her head, trying to get rid of these bothersome reflections.  They were nearly done with their lunch and would part ways soon. She was eager to return to the Sand and make sure everything was still in order.  She didn’t need to get tangled in thought webs crafted by a lazy crybaby.
When she glanced at him again, he was looking at her, almost as if he were trying to read her thoughts.  He turned away without saying anything, leaving her wondering what he was thinking.

🔥naruto himself
Hmm people not gonna like this looooool but here we go
First thing that comes to my mind is that as someone who has lived in a youth shelter, the bratty attention seeking way Naruto behaves in part 1 is like, normal for neglected kids especially boys like I was the anxious kid and the boys were the trouble makers there it doesn’t mean they’re bad people… also most of the kids in part 1 had bad attitude like Shika and Kiba were not nice people and Sakura, well everyone knows how she behaved. Sasuke deals with trauma differently (isolating himself) and I don’t think Hinata was particularly kind either. So yeah imo people blow that stuff way out of portion especially since Naruto himself acknowledged his own flaws. So yeah that has never really bothered me.
Second is I don’t see him trying to save Sasuke as abusive I mean I admit I made one post once where I said he should get a restraining order against both Naruto/Sakura ( XDD) because I was mad at their stans shoving stuff down my throat and bashing Sasuke. But on a serious note, I don’t think him not wanting Sasuke to commit suicide by going to a manipulative psychopath who wants to wear his skin is like, abusive. And when people think him saying he’d break his bones rather than let him go to Orochimaru means he would just randomly abuse him when things are normal… nah. He just thought it’s less bad than letting him go to Oro. They’re not normal kids anyway and it’s not a normal situation so I doubt normal everyday logic fits into it. After that, he never makes an attempt like that again. I’m not saying he’s perfect but  this is another thing people blow way out of portion and don’t pay attention to context (I will talk more in the sasuke ask). In part 2 he is spending quite a time trying to make sure other people don’t kill him pfffffffffff (Kakashi doesn’t get much flak considering the stuff he did) And no, he did not use their bond as guilt trip, he just answered Sasuke’s question.
Very unpopular opinion, I think he is interesting in Kage Summit arc, people hated that arc because they think he acted like a weak bitch and not a real man but I generally enjoyed it more, I don’t share fandom’s general obsession towards Pain arc, it was unsurprising but people love it because it fits the generic shonen way, while Kage Summit does not.
I think people would be less concerned about above mentioned things if fandom attitude wasn’t so Sasuke negative (aka Sasuke was douchebag in part 1, Sasuke betrayed his friends, hurt his friends’ feelings etc.) people probably wouldn’t care as much. But naturally people want to point out other character’s flaws since Sasuke can’t catch a break from the fandom lol

People that say Taka was the best team/friends for him is like saying a drug addicts friends who are also drug addicts are whats best for them simply because they went along with and encouraged their habit rather than trying to get them help and off a toxic lifestyle
Just because you have friends that support your bad habits doesnt mean their good friends and whats best for you
Friends who try to get you out of that toxic lifestyle to a better place where your clear-headed and healthy THOSE are real friends who want the best for you
I know this is a weird topic to touch on after the previous episode which I'm not downplaying because I thought it was wholesome, but the fact that people blatantly ignore how toxic and unhealthy Taka was for Sasuke AT THE TIME really just rubs me the wrong way
Do I think his relationship with Team 7 perfect? course not, but you can definitely see the difference between how TRUE friends behave and how enablers behave
Whenever Sasuke talked or thought about Team 7 he viewed them like family and precious bonds he had to cut in order to focus on and pursue revenge
Whenever Sasuke talked or thought about Taka he treated them as strictly subordinates, we never see him bothering to interact with them other than pursuing his goals and once they were no longer needed? he discarded and abandoned them without a second thought, he didnt even know Karin was an Uzumaki or that he even met her in the past which shows how little he cared about any of them on a personal level, the only one I can say Sasuke even remotely cared about to that degree is Jugo
None of them tried to empathize with Sasuke, none of them tried to talk to him about his struggles or problems and let him suffer alone, none of them cared for Sasuke to that point and if they did then they had one hell of a way of showing it
So my point? yes I think Sasuke cared somewhat about Taka in his own way and yes I think Taka cared for Sasuke as well I'm not saying they didnt, I'm just saying they didnt care enough
And it seems crazy to me that the same people who complain about the injustices done to Sasuke and his clan are the same one who support Taka and them supporting Sasuke and his crimes against pretty much everyone
Yes killing Danzo was a good thing but it was still a crime, Sasuke and Taka joined Akatsuki and tried to kidnap the 8 tails which was a crime against the Cloud village, Sasuke attacked the 5 kage summit and every single kage there making him an international criminal regardless if his goal was just Danzo it was still a risk of them getting involved, Sasuke just being a rogue ninja joining another rogue ninja is a crime, Sasuke attempting to kill all the 5 kage after the war would have been a crime
Yes some injustices can be resolved through violence but that is not the one and ONLY solution, Sasuke going rogue unfortunately even from a narrative standpoint yea it needed to happen for him to train with a Sanin etc but the only way to resolve Konoha’s injustice was to go through the right channels and expose to corruption that was in it, once Sasuke left and started committing crimes he lost the moral high ground and anything he said or did would easily be ignored and just thought of as another crazed Uchiha who deserved to die
You can argue yes but then Naruto and Kakashi could have said something once they found out but by that point it was like Temari said, it was FAR too late for Sasuke and even with the truth revealed how does that excuse his actions at the summit? against Bee? joining Akatsuki? killing Itachi and Danzo MIGHT have been able to be excused but the rest? there's no way that was getting overlooked even with the corruption exposed Sasuke was still just as much in the wrong now
I'm a huge Sasuke fan but even I can acknowledge that not every single one of his actions was 100% right and just, his actions towards the people who actually wronged him WERE in the right, but his actions in everything that didnt? yes he was in the wrong no ifs ands or buts about it
So for those who think Taka is so much better for Sasuke because they supported his criminal actions [except Jugo I believe he’d be fine either way] but not Team 7 who wanted Sasuke to stop his criminal actions and return to his senses and be in a healthy condition again, truly make me wonder if they actually care about Sasuke’s well being or just think everyone who isnt a yes man to everything Sasuke did somehow dont care about his feelings or the injustices done to him and just wanna change him
Yeah, change him for the BETTER not worse, if anything Taka tried to do the opposite of that but hey I guess being a bad influence is better than being a good one
And listen we can go back and forth all day about Sasuke's situation after the war because I agree wholeheartedly that thats bullshit, but realistically speaking the fact that some things about the Uchiha massacre are unresolved like those two elders even being allowed to breathe, realistically speaking what CAN you really do? the Uchihas are dead and the main man responsible is dead and Hiruzen who failed to stop it is also dead so what would exposing everything do at that point? everyone directly involved is DEAD so exposing it really is pointless even if only to clear Itachi’s name which I'm gonna say something alot of you wont like
But the Uchiha’s were not all innocent victims, atleast not the ones involved and planning the coup, yes they were treated unfairly but does that mean the best approach to fixing this is to overthrow the government? how does that make you look? your proving their suspicions of you right by attempting to be the threat they all think you are, that is NOT how you get your point across and demand justice for your clan by planning a coup that would result in many lives lost including your own
Does that mean do nothing? course not, but if you want their trust then you have to EARN it and if you want justice and equality then go on strike and refuse to serve them until their willing to talk and compromise, seriously the Uchiha was a HUGE asset to Konoha so them refusing to obey and offer their services definitely would have gotten their attention and force them to listen and find a compromise, if that didnt work they could have tried spreading the word to fellow citizens and gain their support as I'm pretty sure not EVERYONE in Konoha felt the same way towards them and would have joined their cause for equality
But no, they chose the path of violence and it resulted in their entire clan's downfall and they end up with NOTHING but a bad name, so what did they gain? absolutely nothing, so was it worth it? NO
So lets stop acting like Konoha’s the big bad villain that did nothing but wrong and the Uchiha’s were pure innocent souls that did nothing wrong to deserve what happened to them because Ima say it THEY DID and their downfall was entirely their own fault for their approach, was it right? of course not genocides never ok and just as the Uchihas could have found another method Konoha could have as well so they were both in the wrong not just one or the other
Itachi also isnt a saint for the same reason the Uchiha’s and Konoha isnt and thats choosing the wrong approach to resolving the problems, there were many other paths he could have chosen but he chose the worst ones every time so just clearing Itachi’s name because of his good intentions wouldnt be right because his methods were beyond fucked up on so many levels
So my point is Sasuke was a victim of both sides wrongdoings, Taka didnt help with that at all, Team 7 tried to empathize and tried to understand and console him and save him from himself, its just that Sasuke didnt let them and pushed them away and thats of no fault of theirs since they did try but mainly Sasuke and them being mostly in the dark about everything
Yet Taka knowing almost everything didnt even try to reach out to him or help him cope in any way, Karin you’d think would understand and get through to Sasuke the most, cared more about her lust for him and seeing his ‘smile’ than actually empathizing with him and helping him through the turmoil he was in, Suigetsu made it clear he was out for himself from the start and Jugo is just wholeheartedly loyal to Sasuke no matter what
The fact that in the end, Sasuke makes no attempt to visit them until he needs them for something speaks volumes of his attachment to them, I think Taka thinks more of Sasuke than Sasuke does of them
He didnt even say goodbye to them before he left for his redemption journey nor did he bring them along on his years-long mission which again speaks volumes
So all Im saying is, Taka being the best team for Sasuke and his true friends is complete bull because I have yet to see any argument or reasoning for this be anything other than he chose them and that they went along with everything he did without question
If you have a better reason for why you think this then please share with me I welcome it maybe you can change my mind, but as of right now all the arguments I see is bullshit or occasionally shipping based which isnt a legitimate reason btw, so if you can be civil then I'm all ears
Note: I didnt mention the other Kages because it should be obvious their ways were screwed up as well and ruined a lot of lives, however what does Sasuke’s idea of basically ruling as a dictator resolve? how does that fix and reform the system? Sasuke wont live forever so what happens when he dies? he cant be the enemy that unites everyone once he’s dead and gone it’ll return back to how things were and thus mission failed another Uchiha dies for nothing, Sasuke’s approach to the situation was just a temporary solution not a permanent one and one that wouldnt last long anyway so lets not pretend Sasuke had the best solution to the problem when in all honesty both his and Naruto’s solutions were flawed and it makes sense that they’d work together using both methods rather than one and compromise, again we can argue about Sasuke’s situation after the war all day but fact of the matter is just gotta accept this is what it is and move on, at least Sasuke achieved partially what he wanted which was a bright future for the next generation and the villages to be at peace with one another without the need of a common enemy anymore, are things completely resolved? no, but its progress, and 15 years is nowhere near enough time to fix decades worth of damage so its still a work in progress and will be for a long time

Apprentice I: Naruto and Sarada
Summary: Thirteen-year-old Sarada boldly asks Naruto to become his apprentice. Genre: Humor Rating: K
Sarada walked absentmindedly around the village. She tuned out all of the background noise as she overanalysed everything that has happened in the last fifteen minutes.
Her dark brows furrowed together, remembering that encounter with the Nanadaime, and thinking up more ways how it could have gone better. She just loved to overthink and stress herself over nothing. Sarada’s cheeks flushed, and felt like she wanted to tear her hair out.
“Hokage-sama!” She called out for the highest shinobi in Konoha. Her dark eyes full of her steely resolve. Naruto turned his clear blue eyes to her, giving her his fully attention.
“My goal is to be the hokage,” she proclaimed. “I will train my best to become the best, and be acknowledged by everyone to reach this goal.” Her voice never wavered, however the hard part was coming up.
She bit her lip momentarily to stop it from quivering. “Please,” she bowed low from the waist, “take me as your apprentice.”
Naruto did not flinch at the request. Sarada was his best friend’s daughter, and his goddaughter. His gaze was soft. “Sarada,” his voice came out even softer, wanting to lessen the blow as he tried to deny her request.
She knew that tone. She could not take no for an answer. “Please!” She begged again, biting down hard on her lower lip. She was desperately trying to fight back the tears. Sarada wasn’t sure what was causing her heart to hurt more, her hero’s rejection to accept her as his apprentice, or putting her Uchiha pride down by begging. “I know you’re very busy, Hokage-sama. I promise, I will do everything I can not to add to that burden. Instead,” She rose up from her bow. Sarada looked at him straight in the eye, “let me help you carry it.”
Recalling her own words, Sarada let out a shout of frustration. Was she too forward? Audacious? Presumptuous? How bold for a thirteen-year-old to offer to carry the weight of the village with the strongest shinobi in the continent! Her cheeks were flushing with embarrassment. She looked at her feet as she walked. Sarada was now out of the village’s center. There were less houses now, as it lead to the Uchiha district.
She was spacing out, but instantly snapped out of it when she felt someone darting towards her from behind. In an instant, she pulled out her kunai with her right hand, and aimed to pierce through her attacker’s jugular. This was instantly blocked. Using her momentum, she twisted and lifted her right leg to try to land a hit. This was blocked again.
“Tch,” this guy was pretty good to block her slightly chakra enhanced kick.
She dropped her right hand to the ground to lift her weight, her left leg was glowing from the knee down to her foot with chakra as she decided to no longer hold back. Sarada needed to end this right now.
“Shannaro!”
Her left hand landed on the ground to steady her as she landed a clean hit with her left foot on her assailant’s head.
“Aaaah!” Her attacker screamed in pain as he flew a good distance from her.
Sarada cartwheeled back on her feet, and a triumphant smirk on her face. She didn’t even need to use her sharingan. However, her dark eyes widened in utter horror as she saw who she had kicked. She was able to take a good look before the clone disappeared in a puff of smoke.
There was only one person who dared to wear that much orange.
Back in the hokage office, Naruto doubled over on his seat as his clone’s memories came back to him. He held on to his head, comical tears streaming down his face. “She really is Sakura-Chan and teme’s daughter,” he muttered. The swiftness and finesse she had shown in her taijutsu, sharply reminded him of Sasuke. While her precise timing and chakra release had painfully reminded him of Sakura.
The door to his office opened. “How did it go? Was she excited?” Shikamaru approached Naruto’s desk.
Naruto absentmindedly rubbed on his head. He could still feel the painful way his clone had gone. “Ah, well, I wasn’t able to talk to her,” he laughed nervously. “I guess I kind of scared her and she kicked my clone.”
“How troublesome,” Shikamaru smirked. “Did she use one of Sasuke’s taijutsu techniques?”
“Yeah,” Naruto agreed. “Topped off with Sakura-Chan’s monstrous strength.” He added, shuddering at the memory.
Shikamaru laughed. “Looks like you’re going to have a handful.”
Naruto nodded in agreement. “She’s got Sasuke’s talent, and Sakura-chan’s ferocity.”
Shikamaru regarded his words with a fond smile. That was definitely a lethal combination.
“But most importantly,” Naruto added seriously. “She’s got resolve, and cares for her comrades. That is what will make her a fine hokage.”
The Uchiha couple walked down leisurely back to their house. Sakura held on to the crook of Sasuke’s arm as they chatted lightly with each other. Sensing another presence ahead, their gaze moved away from each other to the path ahead. They spotted their daughter, lying in the middle of the road. Both parents dashed towards their daughter.
“Sarada!” Her mother quickly lifter her head, hand glowing with healing chakra, already scanning her for injuries.
Sasuke looked around, searching for the perpetrator. He was going to kill whoever did this to his precious daughter. There were faint traces of chakra that felt awfully familiar.
“She’s unharmed,” Sakura assured her husband. “She just fainted.”
“Ho…Kage…Sama,” Sarada mumbled.
Both of her parents looked at her questioningly. Hokage-sama? Naruto has something to do with this?
“Tried to... Kill... Hokage...Sama.” She continued to mumble things in her sleep. She was dreaming about her killing Naruto, and worrying that he would no longer take her to be his apprentice after showing such rude behavior.
Her parents, however, took her words the other way. Did their daughter just say that the hokage tried to kill her? Sasuke quickly made a shadow clone, who scooped his daughter into his arms and brought her into their house.
His long hair covered his eyes as he stood up. Once he reached his full height and straightened his gaze, the sharingan activated.
His wife stood next to him, cracking her knuckles. A violent aura was being emanated from her entire being. “Na-ru-to.”
“I’m going to kill that dobe,” Sasuke’s voice was lethally quiet.
Both Sasuke and Sakura’s killing intent were flaring menacingly.
Half way across the village in the hokage tower, Naruto sneezed and shuddered.
“Naruto,” Kurama drawled, waking from his nap. “Do you feel that?”
“Yeah, it feels like Sakura-chan and teme’s killing intent,” he shuddered again, pulling his hokage cloak to cover more of his body. He suddenly felt so vulnerable.
Kurama smirked. “They must be really pissed.”
The hokage nodded in agreement. “I would hate to be the pitiful bastard their killing intent is directed at.”
THE END.

I know that we, as Sasuke fans, can collectively agree that his redemption journey+guilt tripping+getting beaten into submission+not getting justice+the way they treated him after his final fight with Naruto is horrible. However, he did commit a few very serious crimes and terrible actions, and he really should answer for them. What I'm asking is: in a miraculous scenario where people actually decide that, yeah, they really should give Sasuke the justice he deserves and even think about(1/2)
changing the goddamn shitty Shinobi system still established, how would you handle Sasuke’s criminal record? Not as bad as how it was in canon, but he really did do some shitty things, so how should we… er, for a lack of a better term, “punish” him?(2/2)
Hmmm. I think to answer this question I need to break down what’s actually on Sasuke’s criminal record. This is a list that doesn’t include my personal feelings:
- Left the Hidden Leaf Village to train under Orochimaru: In the Naruto universe, this is an offense punishable by death. According to the rules of the Narutoverse itself, Sasuke automatically gets a death sentence for this. However, as a favour to Naruto, Tsunade chose to have this not be listed as a crime nor to pursue Sasuke as a criminal. Then Danzou redacated Tsunade’s decision, and then Kakashi redacted Danzou’s. Assuming the same things go down with regards to the line of Kages in this scenario, to avoid complications, we’ll work under the assumption that Sasuke is pardoned for this crime.
Sasuke committed no crimes that we know of while working under Orochimaru, so none will be counted. I would argue that Sasuke is not responsible for the death of Deidara or even Itachi, but regardless of how one views it both were criminals and their deaths caused no direct harm to the Leaf.
- Fought Naruto: The first two times this happens (Sasuke Retrieval arc and Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission arc), it’s in response to pursuit. This would maybe count as a crime of resistance to apprehension, but I don’t recall that ever being specified as a crime in the series so we’re going to pass over it.
- Joining the Akatsuki and attacking Killer Bee: If I recall correctly, the Leaf had already decided to pursue the Akatsuki before Sasuke even joined it, but the window of time between Sasuke joining and the Kage Summit that affected the law is so brief I’m not going to speculate on it too much. I say that Sasuke attacked Killer Bee because he actually did not succeed in killing him or in capturing him: as a ninja not affiliated with any Village, this is not an act of war. As we know, this led to the mobilization of the Five Great Shinobi Countries against the Akatsuki and to Sasuke’s subsequent death sentence, which was actually in effect this time. I’m not sure, however, what the punishment in the Naruto world is for attempted kidnapping. When Itachi and Kisame failed to kidnap Naruto, they weren’t even subsequently pursued for it, but that may be because they were already in the Bingo Book. Personally, I think Sasuke’s aid of the Five Great Shinobi Countries during the Fourth Shinobi World War may entitle him to a lighter sentence.
- Attacking Karin: Karin is not affiliated with any Village and was an affiliate of Sasuke’s. I don’t think the Leaf Village has a system that deals with crimes committed between criminals, so we’ll say he’s off the hook for this one.
- Killing Danzou: Since he’s no longer affiliated with the Leaf, this doesn’t count as treason. However, he did murder a leader of the Leaf Village. I’m not sure what “punishment” was attributed to Orochimaru when he killed the Third Hokage, which in my opinion is a precedent, but just based off of how the Leaf works in general I’d venture Sasuke earns a death sentence for this. This is without taking into account Danzou’s own illegal operations and lengthy criminal record.
- Threatening the Leaf Village: Threatening to harm a Village isn’t the same as actually harming it, but, again, considering the way the Leaf tends to handle stuff in general, I’m gonna say they’d throw a death sentence at him for even uttering his intent to destroy the Leaf. He fought Naruto again here but since it was in response to pursuit I’m going to go with the same thing I said above.
- Threatening to kill the Five Kage: Yeah, I think I’ll put this one under “probable death sentence” too.
- Challenging Naruto to a fight and attempting to murder him: This one wasn’t in response to being pursued. I don’t know what the punishment is in the Naruto world for challenging a shinobi to a fight when you are unaffiliated with any Village is. After all, rogue ninjas are supposed to be kill-on-sight just, like, in general.
Basically, by Naruto world standards, just judging his actions, Sasuke should be dead a couple times over. But if we’re discussing justice for Sasuke, we have to account for the crimes that were committed by the Leaf Village as a state against him.
- The biggest and the most obvious, The Uchiha Clan Massacre: Genocide is a very serious crime, and as the survivor of a state-ordered genocide, the Leaf really ought to be kissing Sasuke’s ass just in apology for the injustice that was committed against him.
- Negligence: In a fair system, the Leaf would have to acknowledge their failure to provide any sort of support or accommodation for an orphaned and traumatized child who is registered and that they are perfectly aware of. Especially because the reasons for his trauma are their fault.
- Negligence again: Namely, during the Chuunin Exams. The Leaf Village became aware that Orochimaru was a participant in the Chuunin Exams even while the second stage was still occurring. At that point, it was too late for them to do anything about Sasuke’s cursed seal, but even at Anko’s request to pull Sasuke from the exams during the preliminaries, the Hokage still insisted on allowing Sasuke to continue. They already knew that Sasuke was Orochimaru’s target as well; he should have been heavily guarded during the entirety of the exams.
- Inadequate retrieval measures: Though the Village was aware that Sasuke had left the Village, they sent genin who were Sasuke’s age after him instead of well-trained Jonin during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. He wasn’t yet a missing-nin, at this point all they needed to do was apprehend him and bring him back to the Village, but their attempt was half-assed and they let him get away.
If this system is fair, then the Leaf Village’s own hand in creating Sasuke’s motives for his crimes must be acknowledged. I don’t think the Naruto universe even has a fucking court, lmfao. Sasuke had no lawyer or even an opportunity to represent or defend himself.
Personally? I think all things considered, Sasuke is a victim far more than he is a criminal. As you can see from my list above, many of his crimes were mere threats or unsuccessful attempts: the only crimes he actually successfully committed were leaving the Village, which as you can see above the Leaf is at least partially if not entirely at fault for, and killing Danzou, which considering the crimes Danzou committed against him and his motivation I think a fair court would pardon him for.
If I were the Leaf Village, I’d be on my knees begging for his forgiveness, not daring to so much as consider punishing him.

I am conflicted about sasusaku. I shipped it hardcore when I was younger then bore resentment toward him when he defected and caused my queen sm pain. Now, though, I adore and cherish Sasuke as a member of team7 and a character. In SS pairing there are things that he does that makes me iffy. I'm not at all blind to his affections to Sakura but like when he put her in a genjutsu of him stabbing her… he could've put her in lala land but instead stabbed her. Why though? Im so conflicted. Help?
See, to be honest with you this is the kind of ask that can always get me stumped and it’s the reason why I have never argued with a Sakura stan about SasuSaku. I always mention this as if it weren’t obvious enough; I am a Sasuke stan. Before even being a fan of the series and before being any type of shipper, first and foremost, I am always just a little shit here for Sasuke. Asking me questions like ‘did Sakura deserve better from Sasuke?’ ‘did he hurt my queen?’ won’t get you the greatest answer from a Sakura stan’s POV, and that is why ic you have not noticed most my posts/answered asks are from Sasuke’s POV or are just me defending her against asshats with double standards shitting on her for caring for him; or just defending her with no context to SS. This question gets me thinking and I am not sure my answer will satisfy you. However, Let me try to do this to the best of my ability.
‘Did Sakura deserve better?’
Short answer: yes, but it’s not really a sasusaku thing.
Did Sasuke leaving the village cause pain?
Yes, of course it did. When someone you care about to the point of feeling like you’ve become a family is suddenly out of your life it hurts like hell, both Naruto and Sakura can relate. Heck, even Kakashi who had become an almost father figure to them can.
However, put yourself in Sasuke’s shoes, he is a 12 year old child who has been manipulated into carrying the moral burden of his family’s massacre since the age 7. Seven is such a MALLEABLE age, his brain was literally molded like clay and he was taken advantage of since a very influential age. Since age seven sasuke viewed avenging his family to be the sole purpose he was allowed to live, he literally viewed himself to be someone not worthy of killing for five years of his life. The fact that he came so far during his time with T7 is a miracle in it’s own right, he was emotionally healing with them. It got to a point where even Orochimaru’s influence using the curse mark was weakening because he loved these 2 so much
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then this comes along
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the same scene, sasuke is stripped of both his pride and his sanity.
Having not only been shown his own parents and clan being murdered on repeat for twenty four hours  but also beaten bloody to get reminded of his own weakness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He trained all this time, thought himself getting physically and mentally stronger only to end up in this state
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he ended being even further manipulated into hatred
Tumblr media
That day left him out of commission in the hospital for the time period naruto spent learning the rasengan and looking for tsunande; he was unconscious the entire time, and it was not even the physical attack that knocked him out, but rather, the mental ones.
Naruto took about four and a half weeks to learn the Rasengan
Despite all of this, he still wanted to slip out the village without hurting anyone’s feelings face to face. Sakura and Naruto both chased after him because they both loved him and did not think he was making the right decision by leaving. I’d like to highlight, sasuke himself said the characters misunderstood his motivations; his arc was never about just revenge, but also it’s been about justice. I truly feel for both Sakura and Naruto who were hurt by their loved one leaving; I cried during the confession, and God knows how much I cried during Sasuke and Naruto’s fight. But, it’s possible to feel for both of them while being objective, and in all honestly I find Sasuke perfectly justified in leaving and in fighting Naruto who instigated the fight himself.
Sakura got lucky with this
Tumblr media
And I’d like to mention that Sasuke not once: interrupted her, belittled her feelings, called her stupid for loving him or anything of the sort. He respected her feelings and he had enough affection to give a thank you for it. What should he have said? ‘Yeah no, only interested in revenge atm’? lie and say something like ‘I hate you’?
He opted for letting her know she has been in his memories and that he has grateful for everything
(Mind you this is a mistranslation, he said uzai meaning annoying)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He even gave her answers for why he is leaving.
Tumblr media
And it’s not like he was not just as affected by leaving and hurting the people he cares about either..he was also giving up his only hope of happiness
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But he was literally manipulated into this since age SEVEN
Naruto is upset his friend whom is one of his first bonds is leaving to Orochimaru who clearly has ulterior motives, not understanding that sasuke already knows that
Sakura is upset the boy whom her crush for has grown into love is leaving and isolating himself for a ‘revenge’ she does not realize isn’t the main thing on the table for him
Sasuke is upset about his brother who’s killed his family being out there and about leaving the people he’s grown to care so much about. Sasuke left his fight with Naruto remembering his family while shaking with the pain of loosing everything, so it’s hard for me to place sakura above him in this situation.
See what I mean by sympathy is given to everyone but there is clearly someone with a stronger footing in the situation?
Tumblr media
What about the pain Sasuke caused because of what he was doing outside the village?
here is what sasuke was not justified on doing in terms of Konoha
Tumblr media
He is justified in hating Konoha, and getting angry over the political tyranny and the nationalist views it had that got his clan massacred and then threw the burden of the situation on his brother. He simply had a period of chronic insanity intensified by his curse of hatred; and that only grew with his pain and by overusing his mangekyo that comes at the price of insanity and vision.
His logic was a huge 180 from the Sasuke we we’re used to. he was no longer someone who believed in no killing under any circumstance; but now is willing to kill opponents after giving them a fair warning, since Konoha, whom he previously thought to be a good place can do it, and Itachi whom he previously believed to be evil but is now considered ‘perfect’ (god do i have my issues with itachi) had done it, it’s no longer an off the table option for him..He essentially had an existential crisis (paired with a panic attack that left him unconscious) that left his moral code completely shifted.
Tumblr media
But you also have to understand his pain
Tumblr media
even Kakashi who got this from him
Tumblr media
acknowledged that while sasuke might be in the wrong, he was still a victim of his surrounding situation (god i love kakashi)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of murder eyes, Sakura still got lucky she got off with what she got off with while dealing with such an unstable person
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasuke might be in the wrong; but expecting him not to retaliate when he knows she is out here, wearing her konoha head band and official cape, trying to kill him is pretty?????? She wanted to kill him, but he still gave her a chance (which ofc she would not take, she is not going to kill an innocent person) no murder eyes involved until it was clear to him what his intentions were. At this point, even sakura knew he was very far into the rabbit hole
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he even softens a little when shes all like : ) ill betray konoha 4 u bb
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sasuke has never instigated a murder on sakura that she did not start herself, by ninja standards totally justifiable; they are 2 fighters meeting on field. This is not me saying Sakura is a bad person for attacking Sasuke, she too had full rights
*when sasuke attacked her team mates she wanted to fight him and bring him back home
Tumblr media
* when sasuke could have had a war starting in his name, started attacking villages and ‘joined’ a terrorist organisation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Given all these circumstances they both had rights to fight each other
Sad, but true
Tumblr media
What about the war arc?
There is good things
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Misunderstood things, due to mistranslations. Sasuke asks her literally ‘if you heard what can you do?’ and she does not answer because she couldn’t do much in that situation. He was not scolded on being a bully like some anti-sasuke folk want it to be, he was scolded on not being a team player.
Tumblr media
The bad scenes include the lava pit comment which naruto called him out on as a bitch ass liar (he deserved that one tbh)
Tumblr media
And of course the genjutsu. See, I don’t try to justify it and if a sakura fan dislikes sasuke and sasusaku because of it I can’t tell them anything.
I can go in circles saying ‘oh but he cared! he was trying to cut off every bond to enter true darkness! he cared about her so much and the only way to ensure she writes him off forever is to do a violent type! naruto got murder!! she would have got hurt! he was preventing her getting physically hurt!’ and it’s all true but it does not answer ‘did sakura deserve that for just asking him not to kill the 5 kage and sit his ass down?’ because the answer to that is no; under no circumstance was he justified to do that, as commented on by kakashi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But it’s important to remember at this point sakura is not trying to get in a romantic relationship with him, had that been the case it would have been THAT much more problematic, she was just trying to help.
Tumblr media
You start asking fundamental questions if you ask ‘should she and naruto chase him to help?’ Sasuke asked them multiple times not to but at this point team 7 has become family. They could not just sit still and watch someone they cared about so much fuck up his own life and the life of others.
To Sasuke team 7 was hope and love after loss, to naruto they were the people who saved him from the darkness, to kakashi it’s the light at the end of the tunnel and to Sakura it’s where she grew up, where she faced life for what it is and arguably after ino were her first friends who helped her blossom into who she is. They really did not want to give up on that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With all that in mind, I find it hard to believe these two could give up on sasuke.
He viewed them as family too, he too understands too well that the love you have for your family; the selfless, unconditional love that can cause a hell of suffering
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even a god believed there was hope.
When sasuke’s ideology stemmed from his beliefs that were about common interest above personal feelings he said this
Tumblr media
and this
Tumblr media
After everything, he had seen no reason for her to continue loving him; and it does not matter how he feels, since they have no common interest; he’s too busy trying to take over the world and she is thinking of a happy ending full of regained bonds
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and he was right! Sasuke and Naruto officially ended the cycle of hatred begun by Kaguya and her grandchildren, and that’s when sasusaku got together.
Tumblr media
had sasuke not been genuinely sorry I would have boarded off this ship, but he was.
a romantic relationship only officially happened after this, even after sasuke stayed in konoha for a year after the war and whatever happened between them happened, he still did not allow himself a chance to enjoy these things because he was working off his sins.
Tumblr media
In fact, in Shinden (I own it) it’s revealed he is working on himself because he was afraid of having intimate relationships without going off the rails again, despite longing to see team 7 again. What I am trying to get to is:  whatever punishment you want inflicted on sasuke, don’t worry he’s inflicting on himself/the world is inflicting it on him,,in fact I reckon this poor kid deserves a break, some tomato soup and a good tight hug.
What about romantic sasusaku?
SasuSaku happened under great, healthy conditions and it’s not like sasuke is incapable of making sakura happy. You can only imagine (sadly no bitch is animating it) how much happiness she felt travelling around with a happy, free of hate sasuke and I 1000% believe he did his best to make her happy and I reckon it worked since she seems chipper despite the circumstances in gaiden…must have been one really good trip to have it’s after effects lingering for 12 years LOL
Tumblr media
He makes her happy and she loves him and loves seeing him happy, and she has that forever now so I don’t really think Sakura is sad to end up with Sasuke and really neither should you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does sakura deserve?
- More fights as given to her male counterparts to show her amazing skills, we want to see the genjutsu skills she’s renowned for
- More medical ninja scenes, the Kankuro one was iconic and was literally one of the most epic moments in the SERIES; more of the stuff showing her intellect please
- Her personal arc to be expanded on just as her male counterparts
- To be involved in more important information just like her male counterparts, the entire sasuke fiasco could have been avoided and could have opened a door for some deep sasusaku moments
Tumblr media
- Her emotional moments were the type that give you chills, more of those just as her male counterparts
- An animation studio that does her justice in animation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- An animation studio that uses fillers to expand on her, not one that pulls shit like this to make her look immature and unlikable
Tumblr media
- A fanbase not full of ugly sexist boys who hate on her unnecessarily
- A fanbase not full of insecure self inserty girls who hate her for being in place of their self insert
- A better fucking plot for Gaiden
But, don’t take it out on sasuke or sasusaku man, don’t take it out on something you like. I love the judgmental couple that overcame everything.
Tumblr media
Ultimately whether you believe she deserved better from Sasuke is completely up to how much you are willing to interpret both characters evenly. And ultimately, whether you like the dynamic of the ship or chose it’s not for you, is also completely up to you..it’s atypical and I understand why it might not be someone’s cup of tea. I only get annoyed when it’s unnecessary bashing of the relationship and the characters that sometimes extends to insulting real life people and their beliefs. Not cool.
Thanks for the ask and I hope this was not too sasuke centered hehe, also sorry for the late reply I have 78 asks in my box and it’s very hectic as I also have studying and socializing to keep up with.
Tumblr media
Thank you again!
