my celestial squares vest can be put on! look at me making wearables!
i've got quite a bit to go still, here you can see my progress vs what i've done
if you think woah bis! that's a lot of ends you still gotta weave in! you don't know the half of it. i've woven in a lot of ends already! it's just that every. single. square. produces 8 ends! EIGHT. aaaand there's 30 to 38 squares in this project so that's 240-304 ends before even talking about trims and fastenings
i'm sacrificing so much for cool colours
look at this corner join though! i'm so proud of myself :)
if you want to see other posts about this project on my blog, i believe they're all on the #celestial squares tag ! also :) i appreciate likes, reblogs and comments

Hey y'all! My next plushie project is a little purple monster with a flower crown and (if I can figure out how to do it) a spiky denim vest, but I'm not sure what quilt project I want to do next, so I'm looking for input!
edit: I forgot scrap management as an option so that's the "something else" option now lol

she's done! And now in daylight!
showing off the sillily long sleeves and the potential for swinging them around 💚 i super love the colour and think it looks so fun against the grey jeans i basically live in. It was such a journey finding the right stitch but i absolutely love the texture it gives! That concludes this sweater's knitting journey. See u for the next one 😁

I finished knitting a vest this evening that I started in early September! I used wool yarn for it, and the same pattern as I used for the previous vest I made this year.

i actually really dislike the look of chunky yarn but my first finished knitting project was a chunky vest that i’ve never wore in my life because it’s just so. chunky. so i plan on unraveling it and making a few cabled beanies with it (maybe two? and a smaller one if there’s enough yarn left). the yarn is really soft and pretty and i don’t want it to be forgotten in my closet unused. :)

Flipping through book of Japanese crochet patterns at the library yesterday, found this on the page of yarns used for the patterns, which are Japanese brands so they're hard to find outside Japan so their weights and materials, etc. are listed to facilitate substitution, but anyway:
I fucking lost my shit. It's too perfect. Lol.

I threw together a cute outfit for tomorrow and figured out how to take a decent mirror selfie for outfits at the same time :3

forgor to post pics last week when it actually happened, but i finished my sweater!
and a close up of the body:
i need to move one of the (not shown) elbow pads up a bit but that's a Later Problem and not particularly urgent. it's very comfortable! not too warm-- i wore it at xmas yesterday and even with a shirt and a button up underneath i didn't feel too hot. but it's also cozy enough to be outside when it's cool out.
it took six months, nearly to the day, but there was probably a month, month and a half of cumulative not working on it time in there. longest project yet! both blankets only took 3 months apiece.

Update: I did leave the house
Honestly, if you have any kind of hobby, if you can, buy your materials from small businesses. The people who worked where I went were so supportive, it was a pleasure.
So, I indeed finished the front, and it is Baffo approved.
It's now blocking.
Yes, I do use a yoga mat to block my knitting projects. We don't talk about that.
Every time I pin my projects my brain plays the "Jesus wept" scene from Hellraiser, and since this vest is horror movie themed it just felt right.
See you when it's all put together!!!
