The Four Darling Temperaments 

Summary: I wanted to write on the different types of self-inserts reaction to dealing with a yandere. I did in MBTI form since that’s always fun. Though, I guess this is more like the 4 Temperament.

Questions to ask: 

Internal feelings: Resistant vs Compliant

Are you motivated to try escaping the situation? 

External temperament: Bold vs Calm 

How do you react to your yandere?

Are you outspoken or quiet about your problems with the yandere’s behavior? 

The Four Main Types

Bold-Resistant: Feisty

A scrapper, always fighting your Yandere. Goes out your way to annoy them and to fight your way out of their clutches. In fandoms where combat is common (be it fantasy, sci-fi, superhero, action thriller, etc), this darling would be one of the combatants. However, your yandere is typically stronger than you are. 

Calm-Resistant: Strategist

This one fights but in a different way. You try to use your intellect to get you out of situations and try to be one step ahead of your yandere. Because you’re calm, you can manipulate your yandere into a false sense of security. This is the most likely of darlings to successfully escape, or escape the longest. Hopefully, your Yandere finds your antics amusing. 

Bold-Compliant: Seductive 

Manipulative, but only to mitigate the awfulness of the situation. You have given up escaping but you can still use your yandere to your advantage. Examples of manipulating the Yandere: negotiating more freedoms, protect your loved ones, killing your enemies, be used to achieve your dreams. You work best with delusional yanderes. 

Calm-Compliant: Submissive

Whether you’re willing, have Stockholm syndrome, or lost hope, you give in. There’s no trick going on with you. You have accepted your place as a darling. Nearly all yanderes see you as the ideal darling, because you do everything a yandere tells you to do. The other types can become submissive (and eventually, they do).

Thoughts on Yanderes and Personality Type

I think all types can be yandere, but I do think some might be more susceptible than others, or at least, susceptible to different yandere traits. On Introversion vs. Extroversion- I see extroverts as less likely to become yandere unless they're hiding problems beneath a more extroverted "mask". Most yanderes see the darling as an "exception" of some type, which… is harder to justify a strong exception if you've actually associated with a lot of people. This being said, I can see an extroverted yandere feeling more justified in their attachment to their darling because they have dealt with many people, and have come to the conclusion their darling is the best.

On Sensing vs. Intuition- I feel like sensing & intuition don't matter all that much, but would be more related to methods. A sensing yandere I feel would learn more by stalking, whereas a more intuitive yandere would likely try to make more speculations, whether or not either are good at making sense of the information they receive or not is a whole other matter.

On Thinking vs. Feeling- A thinking yandere I feel has a higher tendency to be lucid than a feeling yandere, who would be more delusional. I find lucids are more likely to try to not be yandere bc being yandere is also kind of self destructive, but more cruel yanderes can become much worse when they're lucid but don't care.

On Judging vs. Perceiving- I feel a judging yandere would make more decisions, whereas a perceiving yandere would probably be more of a slow burn type as they try to take in all the information. Judging yanderes would like more structure, and likely more control whereas perceiving yanderes would be more likely to adapt to the situation to get what they want. This doesn't mean that a perceiving yandere is necessarily better, a kind judging yandere may already have a wonderful room filled with everything you like & a great schedule to make sure your fed, whereas a cruel perceiving yandere may adapt to you getting friends by figuring out how to get them to "Betray" you in the worst way possible or figure out which "punishments" lead to the best results for them. It's just about how much said yandere likes structure or can adapt.

My Yandere MBTI:

Reverent! I will go to any lengths to make my self beautiful, and desirable for my darling. This can be altering my body, mental state, or my whole personality!

Aware! I would never dream of sharing these thoughts with anyone irl, and I would feel disgusted but I am beyond shame. I am fully aware many of my darlings I try to trap will never love me.

Manipulative! I prefer much more subtle methods of ensnaring darlings, like making them feel like they're the superior one in the relationship, making myself seem dumber so they won't suspect anything, or gas-lighting.

Lenient! What good is a darling if I can't trust them to behave? They can do whatever they like, whenever they like, as long as they communicate their wants and needs with me. (I care about them too much to ever risk losing them just because of my boundaries.)

Of course many of these depend on the darling, and whether or not I feel like they are superior to me. For the ones I'm naturally better than, I'm Cruel and Strict! But those darlings are too weak to ever last very long, it's quite disappointing.

I categorize Whiskey as a CAMS yandere. He's exceptionally cruel, he appears to be aware of how normal people think or behave and why he's not normal, manipulative time and time again in canon, and having a strict schedule when it comes to poisoning is key to keeping the effects-- the only reason for which is so you don't wander off.

Spoilers, but canonically the master attendant you play as in the game is either: the reincarnation of Whiskey's old master attendant to whom he was fiercely attached, or just so happens to look almost exactly like said former attendant he was so attached to. And whichever unconfirmed case it is, you're fucked, because Whiskey was obsessed with you before ever seeing you. And now that he knows where you are and is bound to you by contract once again, he's going to focus all that energy on you.

Whiskey was even attempting to master necromancy via alchemy just so he could see his master attendant again (and he used Pizza as a guinea pig).

It may be hard to imagine, but bear with me: Whiskey is a protective yandere. Thats right. The villain of many event stories, the abuser of Pizza and the tormenter of his friends Cassata and Cheese, Whiskey... Is an overprotective yandere.

Because if we take a look at his behaviour and reasoning from a different angle... He's doing all of this because he wanted to bring back his Master. He feels like he failed his last master, who never got anything from the world other than life, and lived a life of misery shackled to the walls because of her sister. And all of his actions after-the-fact, are so he can get them back, and this time, keep them safe from the maggots in every civil society.

Do not get it twisted: Whiskey is by no means a soft yandere. He's not above lying to get what he wants, and he is not above poisoning you to make you rely on him. Whiskey even strikes me as the kind of guy to withhold painkillers or antipsychotics until you amuse him with praise or a kiss... Maybe more, depending on how far he thinks he can make you sink to his whims.

Whiskey is possessive. His goals in finding his master attendant's soul again, regardless of if successful or delusion, were purely selfish. He wants you because you're his to have. Simple as is. And he will remind you constantly that you've lost your freedom the second he saw you.

The saving grace is that it's not purely for the sake of tormenting you-- his obsession with you does include making you happy, to some degree. If there is a material item you want, he will get it for you.

Whiskey even says himself that "If I could make your dreams come true, I would take everything and destroy it, rebuild it, and regrow it, until I've created the future you desire". He will do whatever it takes, kill whoever he needs to kill, and torture anyone he has to if it means your happiness is a possible outcome. He tortured Pizza for the chance it could further his research. He tortured and poisoned a man for years to get what he wanted. He held a princess against her will in the castle, her only friend and her captor's proxy, just because it would make someone he was loyal to happy.

And why would there be an exception now? Why should Whiskey care about the lives of others who aren't close to him? Why should Whiskey care if you don't want to be close to him?

He's a conman, after all. There is something you can't live without, and only he can provide it... At a very steep price.

Breakdown of ; my yandere MBTIs

Yan MBTI 01 — RAHL

Reverent ; My dearest is my entire world! I love him to the moon and back. And I would do anything to make sure that he is well, happy, safe, etc. I also feel immense guilt if I am to upset him in some way.

Aware ; Similarly to the above, I am aware of my actions most of the time, and feel guilt if I am to do something that upsets or negatively affects him. I love him. He loves me. And I’d rather fucking disappear than hurt him.

Honest ; I really don’t like beating around the bush when it comes to romance. Instead, I would much be more straightforward than anything. Playing games like cat and mouse is a waste of time! Why not say it right out?

Lenient; I simply do not care what my dearest does, as long has he is safe. While I do activity struggle with obsessive thoughts and tendencies due to our collective psychological disorders, I do my damndest not to let that affect my relationship with my darling.

BIG FIVE — ODDAX

Open ; I am openly an obsession-holder in our system, and it’s something that I am trying to work on. My darling understands this, and I do follow that “lovesick puppy” term that the post describes. I also roll with my feelings and see what works and what doesn’t with my feelings and my relationship.

Direct ; I am a very straightforward person, and I don’t have the time to play chase with my partner. While I may be upset if something happens while I try to confess to them, talk to them , etc — I try to have a thought out idea in mind to even be in the same place as him.

Discreet ; I think this is because of a sense of guilt I have both over the body’s disorder and my system role. But also, I just want to have a happy and normal relationship with my boyfriend. While the thought of being more obsessive and whatnot openly over him would be nice, a wave of guilt washes over almost instantaneously at the idea.

Agreeable ; I really do care about my boyfriend, and truly do see him as a person. But, he is put before me. Before anything. So, of course I will agree with what he says. And I will happily support him and his works. Or what he does. Because he is stunning. I love hearing what he has to say, and to have authentic conversations with him as well.

Resilient / Fragile ; I am a fair mix of both. I am resilient of my end goal to at least be involved my my dearest somehow, and I have no idea how to give up. But I am also very emotionally adoring and desperate for him . I adore him so too much to give up.

SOFT YAN — OSRP

Overt ; I’m really overt with my feelings and don’t want to keep secrets from my partner. I have honest about the thought that I have, and that I am very actively trying to work on them. He understands a lot, thankfully.

Smothering ; I’m a very affectionate person. And I do give my lover space to breathe, of course, but I am always often covering them with love and heartfelt words and affection because I adore them so!!

Relaxed ; I will believe him with what he says! He can be as free as he wants, as long as he is well and safe. I trust him with my life, and I know that he wouldn’t do a thing to harm me or our relationship.

Prepared ; preparation is a big thing with us as a collective/system. We don’t want to do something out of the blue, so I plan ahead! I warmed up myself to him, and I made sure that he was warmed up enough and close with me to the point that I could finally confess to him! It’s a process, and I will not give up!

I just checked you're an INFJ so I'm guessing you know bout the mbti types. I've always wanted to see some mbti personality mixed in fanfics, you know. Very very self indulgent ask of me but if you're willing to humour lil ol' me(a girl can dream big) I'd ask for your thoughts on entp reader(basically Kuroo's type) X characters.

Ngl the only reason I know my MBTI type is because I had to know it for a little in-class assignment (idk why and tbh I don't think the prof knew either). Just got a wee bit curious and took a peep at ENTP--pretty intrigued, honestly.

Note: I love when people send me asks, and people wanting content they can't often find isn't unreasonable. That said, if you want me to write a fic, that's a commission, to which you can DM me to discuss the specifics as well as the price. As much as I love writing, creating a whole story takes time and energy. Otherwise, I'm sticking to a drabble.

Upon doing my bit of research on the ENTP type, I immediately thought of sakuatsu, mainly because I can imagine Sakusa's irritation around the personality type (in an enemies-to-lovers way, ofc). However, we're also adding yandere shit into the mix (as we should), so I view the enemies-to-lovers dynamic to be the front Sakusa sets up to hide his true feelings. A mix of love (if you can call it that) and jealousy for being almost everything he isn't, he knows his thoughts of you would be frowned upon.

The wing-spiker can't say he's a fan of your rule-breaking and spontaneity--it's just begging for chaos to ensure, and with what he has to deal with from some of his teammates (you know the ones), he doesn't need any more of that. But those concerns are nothing compared to how he greatly admires your creativity (not that he'll ever admit it), and while he hides from crowds, you welcome them, though he can't say he particularly enjoys your attention being elsewhere (especially when other people are involved).

The fact that you're willing to interact even with him intrigues him. Dare I say, he wants you to come back, perking up when you call his name to start a conversation. Sure, you do most of the talking, but he's more than willing to listen, so long as you don't notice his staring, or that his thoughts are stuck on you, morphing farther away from innocent. At least you don't suspect anything malicious when you catch him zoned out. He'll scoff at your teasing if it means keeping you unaware of his true desires.

Now he's listening in on more conversations, even the ones that he's not in. He hates crowds, but he'll deal with them if it means seeing your lips curl upwards while you talk. He's just looking over you, of course. He's seen how others look at you--the curses of having charisma, he supposes. Keeping them in line is the least he can do for you.

That excuse doesn't work when you're home alone. You're talking on the phone--to whom, Sakusa couldn't care less. So long as you didn't have a partner, he'll gladly watch you go on about your day from his little hiding spot. Learning whatever he can, hoping to somehow bring it up in your next conversation without drawing any suspicion. Maybe you'll come back to him more often afterwards, grow closer until your feelings match his. He's willing to change for you if it works, if you'll stick around a second longer.

Just a little longer.

Actually, I didn't watch Higurashi season 2 and the Madoka movie, so I don't know in detail (especially about Madoka). But after reading about Hanyu, I more or less figured it out

Like, I remember my friend telling me to watch Higurashi to get some inspiration for Aishi curse hcs. Therefore, if we compare Taro with Hanyu, it turns out that he is a god who personifies the Aishi curse. I'm not sure if Taro in his previous life cursed the first Aishi himself, that's a lot to think about. And I should watch Higurashi season 2 for more inspiration.

By the way, it's actually funny that we have 2 characters with horns named Ganyu and Hanyu. I wonder if Taro also has horns (,,/w\,,)
