Yandere Lily Evans w/ Muggle!Sister!Reader (platonic)

Lily loved her family but she especially loved her sisters the most. It was you three till the end, at least that’s what you all promised each other. Things started to change though once Lily got her Hogwarts letter. You along with your parents couldn’t have been happier for her but the same couldn’t be said for Petunia. She made her thoughts and opinions on the matter very clear. Of course this hurt Lily but she was content so long as she had your support. That’s what mattered most at the end of the day.

She’d always been quite a bit closer to you than she was with Petunia. Ever since the day their parents told them they were having another baby Lily had been utterly excited. It wasn’t until the day you were born though that she found herself captivated with her new role as a big sister. Seeing you in person and holding you in her own little arms at the time stirred something within her. You were her baby sister and she was going to absolutely love and protect you to no end.

The two of you were inseparable and even though she couldn’t be with you physically, Lily wrote to you all the time during her time away at Hogwarts. Much more than she wrote to Petunia and or your guys’ parents. Everyone got their own letter of course but yours’ were pages upon pages detailing everything she’s done and everywhere she went. She never left anything out no matter how insignificant it was. And the letter always ended with talk about how your first year would be at Hogwarts and the things the two of you would do together. She really wanted you to live it all with her so you would be ready when you got your own letter.

Only that day never came. At least not that either of you knew of. And Lily had been just as heartbroken as you if not more so. She didn’t want to believe it. She didn’t want to accept it. Lily could understand why Petunia hadn’t been accepted into Hogwarts but she couldn’t wrap her mind around why you weren’t. It haunted her. This whole time she was under the impression that the two of you could go down this magical path together, she wanted to show and teach you so many things only for it all to fall apart before her.

But that hadn’t been what really hurt her. You had come to completely accept and understand the situation far quicker than she had. What hurt the most though was that you never resented her for living and experiencing a life/world that you couldn’t. If anything you supported and encouraged her all the more. And Lily couldn’t have been more appreciative of you. She had been so worried that you would end up turning your back on her like Petunia had but thankfully you didn’t. Honestly, she wouldn’t have known what to do if you had.

So, Lily vowed to work even harder. For both herself and you. She wanted to make you proud to have a sister like her. She wanted to make you proud of her. Lily didn’t want to give you a reason to resent or hate her. No, she couldn’t go through that, not again. She wanted you to be able to live and experience magic through her and that’s just what she did. Through her letters while she was away and with her studies when she came back home for the holidays and summer; Lily shared it all with you.

When it came to James, Lily would often write to you about him. Mostly regarding his antics and how annoying/persistent he was. It had actually been you to convince her to give him a chance, not seeing any harm in it. Lily wasn’t sure at first but maybe you saw something she didn’t when she talked about him. It’s not like she ever left anything out. Eventually she did give him a chance and surprisingly enough they worked out. She’d always joke to James that their relationship was all thanks to you. (Don’t even get her started on how nervous she was when it came time for you to meet him/the rest of the Marauders.)

Speaking of which, there wouldn’t be a single person close to Lily at Hogwarts that didn’t know about her beloved baby sister. She gushed about and brought you up as often as possible. Everyone came to a consensus that she did it completely absentmindedly. You were just always on her mind in one way or another. You were always the first thought in her mind when she woke up and the last one before she went to sleep. There wasn’t a moment you weren’t a priority to her and everyone knew that. Especially James. He was more than well aware he came second to Lily when concerning you and he was fine with that. Not like he had much of a choice.

With how much Lily mentioned or talked about you in general all her friends felt like they knew you almost as well as she did. So, it made sense for them to get just as protective of you as Lily was. Especially when she was reading them one of your recent letters and you just so happened to briefly mention something about a crush you had.

You should have seen them sitting in the Gryffindor common room trying to decipher what that meant and the severity of what Lily would be coming home to. Was it really just a crush? Or was it something more? Did you already have a boyfriend? Or a girlfriend? Were you already in a relationship and this was your way of trying to tell Lily about it? What if you had gotten married without her knowing?! Surely, your guys’ mother and father would have reached out and let her know if you didn’t. Besides, you were too young for that anyway. You were too young for a romantic relationship of any kind.

Honestly, the conspiracies were ridiculous but if it was regarding you then they couldn’t cross anything out. Yet. And that’s how they reacted to anything you wrote to Lily. Going through every single word carefully with a fine tooth comb, looking for anything that didn’t seem like something but might actually be something. They were all much too invested in you far before they ever physically met you and that was all thanks to your big overprotective sister Lily.

You may not have been able to make a home for yourself at Hogwarts but you already had a family there for you. Lily had made sure of that.

i imagine inheriting the largest vault in Gringotts history will have its advantages in the likely event Dumbledore will pit the sisters against each other in a custody battle. but whatever case he’s managed to build up will quickly be dismissed as Bellatrix will go as far to use the Lestrange fortune to sway the courts in the reader’s favour if they can’t see having one muggle parent and one magical parent is beneficial.

I headcanon (and definitely plan to mention it in my Yandere Petunia Evans w/Muggle!Sister!Reader Headcanons when I get to it) that the only reason Petunia doesn’t just hand Harry over to the Reader (since Petunia doesn’t want anything to do with raising a magical child) is due to knowing that if she keeps Harry in her possession then the Reader would have to stay in Petunia’s life. Her sister wouldn’t be able to just up and leave Petunia once she’s started her own life. And Petunia knows damn well with how loyal and close the Reader was to Lily that she would be just as devoted to Harry, if not more so, which would take up all the Reader’s time and attention away from visiting and being with Petunia.

I feel like if the Reader remains persistent enough and what with Bellatrix having defected and being devoted to the Reader then I could see Dumbledore being more likely to just give in. Especially if Mcgonagall was in full agreement that Harry would be so much better off with the Reader. Although, since Bellatrix has made her decision very clear as to who she’s aligned her self with *cough* Muggle!Aunt!Reader *cough* then I could certainly see Dumbledore allowing whatever just to ensure that Bellatrix stays on the good side and becomes part of the Order. How could Dumbledore possibly pass up having one of Voldemort’s most devoted and loyal followers who has completely defected from the cause join his very own cause? And if all it takes is allowing Bellatrix to play house with Muggle!Aunt!Reader and Harry then okay.

Also, just because Bellatrix has defected doesn’t mean that she still isn’t willing to Avada Kedavra someone. And she may just do that with Petunia and Vernon. But then there would be the possibility that she’d be found out and taken away from the Reader if she did so, not to mention she would have to take out Dudley too otherwise the Reader would be stuck with him and she wouldn’t do that to her darling. No, Bellatrix would try to remain cordial and civil but so help her is this custody battle continue she will imperious the Dursley’s or obliviate them altogether and send them off to who knows where.

Overall though, Bellatrix would without a doubt help out the Reader in whatever way possible. As would the Malfoy’s but on a much more subtle level.

I needed to write you before the time finally comes. Before he finally comes looking for us. I won’t be able to send anymore letters after this for awhile, I shouldn’t even be writing this one, but I have to get this to you.

I just want to thank you for everything you have done, everything you have been, and everything you are. You are my greatest friend and I don’t know what I would have done without you by my side. We’ve always been there for each other and I know we will continue to be there for one another, no matter what.

I know we’ve been through so much together, you and I. Always and forever, isn’t that what we promised all those years ago? Well, I need you more than ever, my friend.

I wanted to ask something of you. If... anything were to happen to James and I, would you be there for Harry? Would you keep an eye out for him? Would you watch over him? Protect him? Would you love him and be there for him if we couldn’t?

I know I probably sound out of my mind but I can’t shake this feeling of dread. And I’m scared. I’m scared of what’s to come and whether my family will survive it.

Please, promise me you’ll be there; for us, for me, for Harry. Promise me that you will take care of my baby if I can not.
