꒰ The Red Web of Fate ꒱

Just a short drabble loosely inspired by my fic The Spider and the Fly. Alternatively entitled “The reason why Yandere! Miguel O’Hara got angry when his darling noticed a familiar face in the middle of their forced fun, one-sided casual date in Nueva York.”

According to the laws of the Spider-Verse, there is nothing special about you and Miguel.

Legends speak of destined lovers, of soulmates connected by the threads of fate. It is this bond which brings couples together across time, across past lives, or more accurately, across the multiverse.

In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man. In many others, there is Mary Jane. As for the rest, it is Betty Brant, Felicia Hardy, etc., etc. whose relationship with Spider-Man constitutes a recurring pattern in the Spider-Verse.

Miguel O’Hara and ______ are not part of that pattern.

It is a scientific truth backed by physics and mathematics. It is what makes his Variants’ family, Miguel’s family with you and Gabriella, exclusive to a single collapsed dimension.

Prior to his loss, Miguel had already analyzed the data. In every dimension except one, the two of you are fated to never meet. There are versions of you who remain single, versions of you married to another, versions of you who never bumped into Miguel O’Hara on a sunny afternoon in the heart of Nueva York.

In every other universe, ______ falls for her childhood friend, an ordinary civilian whom Miguel first recognized as Gabriella’s godfather. He belongs with you in 53% of all universes, half of which include a son named after you.

Granted, there’s still a very low chance that you did end up with Miguel in another dimension, but that discovery would barely change the statistics. The conditions of your first meeting were random, coincidental, caused by specific conditions and chain reactions. The probability is near-zero.

Neither can he find you in Earth-928. Whatever the reason—death, nonexistence, the pure luck of living under his radar—you continue to elude Miguel. And even if you meet in the present, Gabriella’s existence cannot be replicated.

…Then again, the Web of Life and Destiny has never accounted for lovers from different dimensions. Such relationships have actually occurred without disrupting the Canon.

If the probability of your first meeting is <0.001%, then Miguel has no choice but to create a new event under different conditions.

If the red thread of fate does not exist between the two of you, then his webs can fill up that space.

If he cannot find you in his dimension, then another version of you will suffice.

*sobs* Why does Miguel O’Hara continue to torment me…….was 7.6k words not enough to satisfy him!! While his meeting with Variant! Darling in The Spider and the Fly is purely unplanned, the other parts of this post are relevant to their story. I just thought it would be interesting to explore Miguel's feelings in the event that their relationship is barred by even science and the multiverse >:3

>At first it was just friendly conversation, Pav was friends with most of the spider society, so you had no reason to think you were special

>You started to hang out in his dimension a lot more, and subsequently met Gayatri

>However, you also had matters to attend to at home, that you had been setting aside in order to attend your latest infatuation

>So you tried to avoid him for the first two times he tried to summon you for that important conversation

>But the third time it would just be you being an asshole, Gayatri stopped texting you as much, so you were sad you screwed up what could've been a good friendship

>However, when you went to his universe to have said conversation, you couldn't be happier or more surprised

>So yeah you bagged both Spider-Man and a model, congratulations

>They're both very affectionate, and don't love the distance , but it's what it takes to be with you, so they'll survive

>Gayatri would be super curious about your universe if it's in any way different than theirs

>Would be super excited to make movie marathons with movies from your universe to see if it's different

>You and Pavitr give upside down kisses to each of Gayatri's cheeks

>They're always texting you and checking up on you<3

>Your date nights are sacred, unless the spider duty calls, nothing can make you or them cancel

Felicia is downright flirty and seductive. She designed her Black Cat suit specifically to enhance her already existing assets. She knows what she has and how to use it. 

If you’re a hero, she’ll make sure to always be in the area you patrol most targeting places there just to ensure she’ll get your attention. She’ll get really annoyed if Spider-Man or another hero shows up instead of you. 

She’ll purposely try to capture you in her traps, wanting to take right then and there. Felicia can get easily jealous when it comes to you. If other heroes or criminals flirt or are just overall too close, she won’t be happy. 

She’ll go out of her way just to make that hero or criminals’ life a living hell. She’ll use her bad luck  “aura” to mess with them and fuck up their whole day, so to speak. She doesn’t like anyone taking up your attention, she likes your eyes on her 24/7. 

She’d probably try to start a genuine connection with you, but if it takes too long she may just up and seduce you or take you. She doesn’t like not knowing where you are or what you’re doing. What if someone is trying to steal you from her? What if you already have someone? 

She hates not knowing your real identity, if your a hero, cause then how would she know if you already have a lover, or even a family. She would stalk you so hard. Especially if you’re an average normal person who isn’t a hero. It’d be so much easier to watch you and get involved in your life.  

Whether you’re a civilian or hero, and she finds out you have a lover and or you have or are starting your own family, she’ll lose it. She’ll insert herself into yours’ and your lovers’ lives, using her bad luck to make something happen to your lover, Maybe your lover slipped down a set of stairs, was accidentally hit by a car, or something of the sort. 

Felicia may even make it seem like you’re cheating on your lover with her, just to break you two up. She’ll play dirty if she has to just to get what she wants and she wants you. 

I don’t honestly see Felicia ever getting her hands dirty or bloody. I think she’d really have to be pushed over the edge to actually physically hurt and take someone out. 

Once your ex-lover is out of the way, she’ll do all she can to become your new and last one. She genuinely does love you, she just wants you all to herself. She’ll use her skills in the bedroom to keeping you around is she has to. And she’s a great lover. 

She wants to have a happy and domesticated life with you. She wants to take you out to events with her, being on your arm or having your arms interlocked. She wants to show you off, letting everyone know you’re hers and she’s yours. And she wont let anyone come in between your relationship, unless they want some bad luck headed their way.
