SWSH Headcanons

I love sword and shield and the chokehold these characters have on me, but if I ever tried to write dialogue for most of them I would have a stroke, so have this instead.

I’ve written a bit for Sonia before, but there is one point that I completely forgot to bring up, and that is how absolutely excited she is to share her research and discoveries with you. She loves her job (most of the time), and is absolutely going to blab to you about it, so be prepared.

You don’t have to understand everything she’s saying, you likely won’t, but that’s okay. Just listening and trying your best to work through what she’s saying will be enough for her. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want, she will answer each and every one of them with incredible enthusiasm. But if you understand what she’s talking about, she would fucking ascend on the spot from happiness.

Please have a girl's night with her. Get holed up in her room while spilling trashy gossip all night while painting each other’s nails over cheap wine, she’ll love you forever. She’d jokingly ask if you had a crush on anyone when you’re already dating and act all innocent and teasing about it, like, “aww, you had a crush on me??” when you’ve literally been dating for years.

Yamper goes everywhere Sonia goes. You can expect him to be begging at your feet whenever you meet up with her, wanting nothing more than for you to bend down and shower him in love and affection. He’s a good boy and he knows it. Sonia might send him off to fetch you when she’s busy, so please trot behind him slowly. He wants to lead you there and doesn’t want to fall behind.

I’ve brought this up before, but Leon would be so supportive. Sonia is his bestie, so when you get into a relationship, he wants to meet you as soon as possible. Man just loves his friends and is so happy when they get into loving, meaningful relationships. He also knows a lot about you because Sonia has gushed about how much she loves you to him on several occasions. He can seem kind of intimidating with his status and all, but he’ll definitely end up thinking highly of you.

And I have to mention Hop as well, because he’s also very supportive. He takes it upon himself to be Sonia’s wingman when she’s pinning. When Leon’s not available, she’ll blab to Hop instead. The second you meet, he begins planning your wedding. Be prepared.

But that’s not all, because Nessa is also Sonia’s bestie. She’s the only one of the three that you really have to worry about, as she won’t hesitate to speak her mind if she has any kind of issue with you, but she ultimately knows how much you mean to Sonia, and so she has no choice but to be supportive. Anyways, if Sonia takes too long to confess her feelings for you, she’ll get Leon and Hop together to form a plan to make it happen. Sonia is mortified.

Nessa… Need I say more? She is the woman of all time, with one of, if not the, best design in the entire series. She’s gorgeous, she’s powerful, she’s described as having an “indomitable nature”, what more do I have to say?

Unfortunately, as both a model and a gym leader, she’s a busy gal, always running to and fro to get work done. She’ll always try to squeeze in time for you, but that doesn’t always work out, much to her dismay. It also means that many, many people are going to be jealous of you. This goes for all of the gym leaders and champion as well, considering they are essentially celebrities in Galar, but Nessa may as well be in a league of her own.

Many people have crushes on Nessa, both young and old alike, so finding out that she’s taken is a crushing blow. You’re gonna end up with weirdos that hate your guts for daring to date their crush, which sucks. But on the other hand, you’ll also have weirdos who are completely obsessed with you and your relationship and want to know every little intimate detail. You decide which is worse.

Speaking of being a model, expect to be roped into a photoshoot every now and then. Nessa loves you and thinks you are drop-dead gorgeous, so, naturally, she’s not above pulling some strings to fit in a shoot or two with you. Expect to at least have a Valentines photoshoot every year, since it’s the most obvious way to show off how great of a couple you two are.

Nessa yearns for the ocean. Having grown up in a sea-side town with fishermen for parents, she’s used to floating out into the ocean and just relaxing. When she’s feeling stressed and pent up, she’ll drift out into the blue abyss with one of her pokemon, staring into the sky above while being rocked gently by the waves. She’d love it if you joined her sometime.

She also really likes fishing. She often comes back to her roots, which leads her to pulling out the full fishing ensemble, “fish fear me women want me” hat included, and getting onto a dinky boat to sail off into the middle of the ocean to fish for hours on end. You are asked to join her on these trips, but they aren’t super exciting unless you absolutely love fishing.

She has pictures of you everywhere. In her gym locker, in her wallet, on her phone, around her house, in Sonia’s lab, everywhere. They’re almost entirely pictures that she’s taken, too. While she is by no means a photographer, she knows a few things about taking good pictures from modeling, and loves to use that knowledge to take wonderful pics of you (not that you don’t look wonderful all the time). Her phone’s lockscreen and wallpaper are also pictures of you, obviously.

So I don’t have a sword so I am not as familiar with Bea, but her design alone is enough for me to write for.

Girly pop is stoic, but she’s not unbreakable. It’s not the easiest task, but it’s absolutely worth your time to make her smile and laugh. That being said, it makes her very embarrassed and flustered, so please spare her and her image and only do so when in private.

She thinks about you a lot. Bea’s been trained to remain calm and collected, even in tense situations, which makes it difficult for opponents to read her in the heat of the moment. Little do they know she’s just thinking about what her girlfriend is up to at the moment. Were you doing alright? Were you in the stadium watching her match? Were you cheering her on? She hopes so.

Is not above using you to indulge in her love of sweets. She has the biggest sweet tooth in the league, but has a hard time actually eating them without garnering too much attention. So, when she wants to have something sweet, she’ll bring you with her and play it off like it was your idea, therefore she was just following you and being a good girlfriend and not just getting dessert.

Training never stops with this one. She works out all the time, and will invite you to come sometimes. Her training is incredibly rigorous, though, so you likely won’t be able to keep up. Sitting on the sidelines and cheering her on or helping her workout in some kind of way are more than acceptable in her mind. Easiest way to help her is to sit on her back while she does push ups, it helps her workout while also getting to be close with you. Don’t expect her to be talking too much, though.

Her training sometimes brings her to remote locations in the region, and she sometimes forgets to warn you ahead of time. You might spend your entire day trying to get ahold of her and asking others if they’ve seen her, only to receive a text from her hours later that just reads like “ out training”, no further elaboration.

Bea’s a tad bit touch starved, so she thrives off of your affection. However, she’s not very good at vocalizing her wants, so it falls to you to notice her longing stares. She wants to hold your hand and cuddle and sling her arm around your shoulder when sitting close, but she’s too nervous to initiate on her own due to her lack of experience.

Her only ask is that you keep your relationship pretty lowkey in public. PDA makes her a little uncomfortable, both because she’s shy with affection and also because she knows people are watching. Hand holding is as far as you are gonna get with her before she breaks a little inside.

Melony my beloved. They did not have to cake her up so much but goddamn I am not complaining because ahjdkgh milf. She’s hot and also incredibly caring and sweet and supportive.

First things first: you have to get along with her kids. This is non-negotiable. She already has a rocky relationship with one of her children, she doesn’t need to jeopardize that relationship further, or the one’s with her daughters, for any reason, even for love. It’s a lot to suddenly have five step-kids, especially if you don’t have any kids to begin with, but if you aren’t willing to at least try, Melony isn’t going to be sticking around.

She doesn’t want to overwhelm you too quickly, but meeting her children is something she wants to happen early in the relationship. Once things get serious, she’ll invite you over for dinner which, surprisingly, goes very well, with little family drama being drudged up in the process. It takes a monuementous amount of effort to convince Gordie to come over, but he does, reluctantly. It’s probably pretty stressful because, uh, if you mess up then your relationship is toast, but it’s worth it in the end.

Also, congrats, by doing the bare-minimum, you become Gordie’s favorite mom. This is by default, considering the previously mentioned rocky relationship he has with Melony. She’s just happy that Gordie isn’t upset about her hopping back into the dating scene, same with her daughters, and that they actually like you.

Not normally what I write about with these, or write about in general, but, when it comes to arguments, Melony can be a little difficult because she’s used to being the one in charge. Most of her arguments are with her own children, over both silly and important matters alike, and so she’s used to taking the perspective of “mother knows best”. It’s never her intention to control or demean you, but it can easily come off like that. If you bring it up to her, she’ll do her best to work it out of her mindset (communication is important kids). Not to say that arguments happen often, of course, but they can be incredibly annoying to deal with when they crop up.

Melony loves to cook, and would love to both cook for and with you. It’s maternal instinct to make sure you’re well fed, there’s simply no way around it. Expect her to make you adorably packed lunches and plenty of home cooked dinners. You’ll almost always end up with leftovers, since she’s used to cooking for five people. But she’d love it if you joined her in the kitchen for some quality bonding. If you’re lucky, she might even show you how to make the snomlette.

It’s honestly incredible that she has time to do so many things for you and her children along with her duties as gym leader with time to spare. It’s the mom magic.

Marnie, despite being punk, is shy and sweet in equal measures. Even as a gym leader, she has a streak of being a little stand-offish and awkward. That’s not to say that she’s meek or a push-over, or that she gets nervous in front of a crowd. She’s just easy to fluster and is usually on the quieter side.

Like many others, Marnie’s got a lot on her plate. Of course, she’s got her duties as a gym leader to tend to, but she’s also working on restoring Spikemuth to its former glory. These don’t just eat up her time, they also leave her tired. Please hold your arms out for her to fall into when she walks through the door after a long day, it’s her favorite way to recharge.

Morpeko loves you more than anyone else, a blessing you should be thankful for. He’s kinda like a cat, in that he can be very sweet at times and an asshole at others. Oh, and he shows his love through biting. He likes Marnie well enough, but she’s not safe from being bitten or scratched. You, however, are a different story, as he seems to always be sweet when you’re around. Marnie’s convinced he does it out of spite.

Keeping up with the theme of “talking about other character’s important to this specific character”, Piers. He wants the best for his baby sister, considering that he basically raised her and all, but he doesn’t even try to be overprotective or intimidating. Does it sting to watch Marnie grow up, seeing her get into her first real romantic relationship? Of course. But he knows that she’s got a good head on her shoulders, so he sees no reason to butt into her relationship.

He’s an overall chill guy with a lot more time on his hands since he’s no longer a gym leader. As long as you’re chill, he’s chill, and won’t mind your company. Hell, he might even start looking forward to hanging out with you, thinking of you as part of the family, when you’ve known each other for long enough. The only issue he might have with you is your music taste.

This is a bit more general, but I like to think that Marnie and Hop are good friends. They didn’t know each other too much during the gym challenge, since all they really had was a common friend/rival, but they actually got to know each other once the champion cup was over. It’s not super easy to hang out since they’re both striving towards their own goals, but they find a way.

It’s funny, because I don’t think they would have much in common outside of their music taste, but they’re still friends who hang out and complain to one another. While he’s dropped his dream of being champion, Hop still gets excited over the gym challenge every year and loves to watch her matches. Marnie’s not the most knowledgeable when it comes to pokemon research, but she finds it all interesting and tries to lend a hand. She’s not that helpful. She also is the only person preventing Hop and Bede from throwing hands when they run into each other.

Oleana is the pinnacle of “very busy and very tired”. Gatekeeping, gaslighting, and girlbossing all day takes a great deal of time and effort. She’ll trudge home and fall face first into the couch, perfectly content to call it a night if you don’t step in and make her come to bed.

She loves the chairman dearly, but he also stresses her out immensely. There’s really no point in going out to meet loyal fans on the way to business meetings, but that doesn’t stop Rose from doing that anyways. She badgers him to the best of her ability, but he still takes his sweet time. While she appears composed, she’s screaming internally, waiting until she can go home and scream about it externally when venting to you.

Speaking of the chairman, it seems as if she cares more about him than she does you at times, but she does her best to reassure you otherwise. The chairman is, unfortunately, her priority due to being her boss, but that’s more about admiration than love. Consider the fact that he (unintentionally) makes her incredibly stressed, whereas you don’t. That alone gives her a reason to love you.

Also consider that the idea of coming home to you at the end of the day is part of what keeps her going. Sure, her job is stressful, considering the fact that she is essentially the backbone of the Macro Cosmos company, but she always gets through the day because she gets to see you once it’s all said and done. The tension within her bones dissipates upon walking through the doorway. Hold her in your arms, brush your fingers through her hair, get shitty take out to eat over trashy TV that neither of you are really watching, and you’ll win her heart in an instant.

While she shows her more… aggressive side to you when ranting passionately about all the issues involved with her job, she reverts back to her poised and punctual state whenever in public. Due to her professional nature, expect little PDA. The most you’ll get is hand holding. Unless she’s jealous, at which you’ll get a hand wrapped around your hip which grips just a little too tight until she calms down.

Date nights are typically spent indoors unless she has a day off, which is incredibly unlikely to happen. Firstly, she wants to rant, and she can’t do that in public without destroying her public image. And secondly, she’s tired of dealing with people given how much shit and disappointment she has to deal with throughout the day. You get her, so why would she want to be around anyone else?

Also! Garbador is an absolute sweetheart. She knows how much you help Oleana and that makes her so happy. She tries to show her affection but is a little awkward about it because she doesn’t want to gross you out since she’s… literally made of trash. She usually just watches from afar, all smiley and happy to see you two being happy, getting embarrassed if you catch her doing so.

Sooo I wasn’t originally gonna write anything for Klara because, again, I don’t have sword and am not as familiar with her as I am Bea, but thoughts started rolling so here we are. Also kinda toxic behavior incoming because it’s Klara.

Girl is a pop star, or is at least trying to be one, which means she’ll naturally write love songs about you. And by love songs I mean songs that describe how much she loves you but are also not really love songs because they’re lowkey toxic? Listen, it’s Klara, what else do you expect when that is literally her thing. She also has songs about her exes, which contain… worrying content, but that’s neither here nor there.

In general? Don’t break her heart. She will key your car and slash your tires and will attempt to instigate physical fights and will also write a song about you and how much she hates you and all of the things she hopes happen to you. Again, it’s Klara. But if she loves you with her whole heart and soul, then you have nothing to worry about. She’ll be more than happy to do all those things towards people you don’t like instead.

She's not the best at showing her love. Her goal in life was always to be loved by everyone around her without having to do much in return, but your existence has disturbed that goal because she actually really likes you and actually wants to try for you? And she kind of hates that, and it takes her a while to even figure out what the hell was wrong with her, and she ends up resenting you for a hot minute for making her feel so weird.

But she gets over that and decides to put in actual effort into your relationship, trying to be a better person both for you and herself. She takes the time to listen to you and work out your likes and dislikes, and puts effort into coming up with cute date nights, and does her best to be there for you when you’re down or need to get something off of your chest. Just normal girlfriend things. She’ll never admit to changing how she acts, though. This unintentionally turned into an “I can fix her” post whoopsie.

Klara loves to take pictures of herself and photoshop them, so expect to be sent most, if not all, of them. Sometimes, she just thinks she’s looking exceptionally cute and just needs to share her hotness with someone else. She also expects you to send pictures back in return, as it’s only fair. Like Nessa, she has a large portfolio of pics she’s both snapped and received of you.

Anyways, Klara posts shit like “I love doing wifey shit for my girlfriend <3” while burning down the kitchen trying to make you scrambled eggs.

I also originally wasn’t going to write anything for Peonia but I had a change of heart because, after thinking of it, I couldn’t not write embarrassingly supportive supreme dad-of-the-year Peony hyping her up.

Peonia’s biggest mistake in life was coming out to her dad, because the man is simply too supportive. The moment she tells him this vital information, he is searching every store and market for all of the lesbian flags he can find. She has an entire pile of them in her room because she literally doesn’t have any space on the walls to hang them on. He also sews smaller ones onto her clothes and jackets upon being asked to do so,

If he ever sees her talking to another girl, he’ll ask about her afterwards. He just needs to know if she’s into this new person he’s never met before. Peonia always tells him off in an attempt to subdue her embarrassment. Thankfully, he at least waits until the other girl leaves, or else she would literally combust.

That being said, don’t think you can date Peonia without Peony putting up an overprotective fight. At the end of the day, that’s his baby. His darling. His pride and joy. Sure, she’s grown up and is more than capable of making her own choices in life, including her choice in romantic partner, but he’s still her father. He just needs to make sure you have her best interest in mind, then he’ll back off.

But once you’ve gotten past the over-protective dad phase, you get yourself a new father figure. He’ll come to think of you as one of his own. He’ll also provide you with plenty of embarrassing childhood stories. At some point, he’ll start referring to you as his daughter-in-law. Every minute you spend talking with him makes Peonia rip her hair out. Again, Peonia is happy that her dad is supportive of her sexuality and your relationship, but she’s also on the verge of dying from embarrassment.

Even though she is incredibly embarrassed by her father’s antics, she can be super supportive and exciting when it comes to doing anything with you. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and when she realizes how she acts similarly to her father when it comes to spending time with you, she dies a little inside.

Enough about dad. Please go with her on Dynamax Adventures. Not only does she have a blast with them, but she can show off how cool and strong she is as a trainer. Please swoon over her and how cool and brave she is, being as dramatic as humanly possible. RIP to your teammates who are forced to third-wheel on the adventure, but at least Peonia is having fun.

Also, please help dye her hair. The pink looks great but it was a pain to do by herself, and she’s too embarrassed to ask her dad for help. Besides, it means you get to hang out and she gets your input on what color to use.

Progress Update!

I know it’s been a while since I posted an update on here so here’s just a big update dump!

Last time I really talked on here, I was about to run a few beta test sessions. Which did happen but too much happened during the two sessions and I ultimately had to cancel the rest. Which was a bummer but its ok! I got a lot of good data on what did and did not work. So I took a few weeks as a break and got back to work. Most of said work has been reworking the Move dex to be clearer and more consistent. Which brings me to…

The Move Dex is now at version 6!

@bdigfreakingwooper and I, as well as a few others from the discord server, have gone through the entire move dex (again) and its hopefully in the last stages of development! Combat still needs overhauled somewhat so the move dex might need to be updated again afterwards but other than that, I don’t foresee any other big issues so I’m happy with where its at.

It now includes all moves (excluding z-moves & dynamax/ gigantamax moves), a few custom moves (still being added to), Key words, and move range descriptions/examples. I will be posting it here in the near future, once combat has been reworked and a few more custom moves have been added. Here’s a few notable moves that I just want to show off:

I’m sure parts of this won’t make much sense yet so if there’s anything you’re curious about, let me know!

Current Focus

What we’re currently working on is creating an Ability dex, with every ability being adapted to this system. We’ve started work on it and it hopefully won’t take nearly as long as the Move dex to finish (or finished enough). Other than a few annoying ones (looking at Transform) its not too bad! My personal favorite so far is Ball Fetch, the signature ability of Yamper, which in this system has a D6 Chance to regain an Orb after a party member uses it, if User has free pouch slot. Just the thought of little Yamper running to retrieve Orbs is so cute I couldn’t help myself lol.

As for what comes after the Ability dex, I have an ever growing To-Do list that’s slowly being worked through, starting with overhauling the combat system. Then there’s going through all the status effects, weather, terrain, items, Dojo effects, and a bunch of other stuff. Once that’s done I’ll be going back to working on the Player’s Guide, which will be a simple introductory guide to the system, character creation, and a few other important things. After that? No clue. We’ll see what happens!

Other Stuff

The server has reached over 30 members! Its been an absolute blast to hang out in with everyone. I definitely wouldn’t have gotten as much work as I have without those in the server, most notably Nines (@bdigfreakingwooper) who is now the Co-Creator of PDM! She has done a lot work independently as well, like creating a version of the character sheet that automatically fills in stuff like move information and a treasure bag sheet that does the same with items! Its absolutely insane, biggest thanks to her for being here through so much of the development.

Also about the server, I’ve been streaming a playthrough of Explorers of Sky, following the adventures of Team Soy Bois, and it’s been a huge blast. A few of us have even been doing voices for all the characters and some others enjoy just joining muted and chiming in using the text chat. We also have been doing movie nights, going through all the Pokémon movies, which has been on hiatus but will be starting back up next week! Its overall a very chill place and I would encourage anyone following the blog to consider checking it out!

Give Malleus a pokemon egg and if he's a little Yamper who thinks this fae is his "mom" (because when a pokemon is born the first living thing they see is considered its mother) his paternal instincts will explode to astronomical levels. It's also fun to see the feared and mighty Malleus Draconia carrying an electric corgi in a dog carrying bag.

That is his son. His baby. I like naming pokemon, so let's call the good boy Hugo (after one of the gargoyles in Hunchback. Feels appropriate.)

You just have Malleus towering over you, looking serious. They you hear a little "woof!" And out pops this ball of energy from under cloak. Suddenly the dragon fae smiles and picks up his baby. "Are you hungry, Hugo? I know you want to be fed soon."

"arf!"

Oh...pokemon team headcanon 👀

Well, I have these ideas:

Mario: Plusle, Arcanine (I think it's ideal for him), Camerupt, Pyroar (a fire type lion for the representative of bravery), Nidoking and Oricorio

Luigi: Minun, Boltund (I love imagining Luigi raising a Yamper...and surrounded by dog pokemon), Manectric, Rotom (a pokemon that is electric and ghost based, but depending on the appliance it has, it is still electric but also of another type, and also in reference to Luigi's mechanical abilities...I mean, Rotom can become a vacuum, so...), Greavard (because, how not to give him a ghost dog) and, here I was debating whether to give him an Oricorio to pair him with Mario, or a Decidueye because of "M+R: Sparks of Hope" (archery).

(Oricorio, in addition to flying, can be a psychic, fire, electric and ghost type, so I think it's a good option for the twins)

Peach: Jigglypuff, Alcremie and Fidough (for her baking skills), Gardevoir, Shiinotic (of course) and Breloom (of course)

Daisy: Flores (orange or yellow), Medicham, Mienshao, Sigilyph, Maractus (Desert flower) and I still can't decide between a Cacnea or Claydol or Exploud

My two favorite game sagas, I swear

Oh wow you've made some pretty good teams 👀 I pretty much agree with all the choices.

Mario's team: Plusle is a cute partner. Arcanine and Pyroar represent the strong, fiery protectiveness Mario possesses. Nidoking is strong.

(you'll have to explain to me about Oricorio. I like it, but I am not sure if it's a Pokémon that suits Mario - given it's a Pokémon about dancing and Mario doesn't really do that...)

Luigi's team: Minun, Rotom, Manectric, and Greavard just fit so well. Boltund is genius (because Yamper is a good boy, and Boltund is an even stronger good boy). I think Decidueye would be a great choice!

(I personally would like him to also have Nidoqueen, to match Mario's Nidoking. If I had to pick which Pokémon to substitute out, it would be Manectric)

Peach's team: Nothing else to add. It's perfect 👍

Daisy's team: Absolutely love this team! Great mix of representation for Sarasaland and Daisy's namesake. For the final Pokémon, I would pick Exploud. A normal type would allow for even more diversity and strategy in her team.

You said you wanted asks and I can't think of any decent ones so here goes: if the protagonists of each Jojo part had a pokemon instead of a stand, which do you think would suit each of them best? I think Jonathan would have some kind of dog pokemon like a Rockruff or something called Danny :3

Okay so...... my brain got stuck and I was only able to come up with Pokemon for a couple Jojo’s, so I hope this is okay-

For Jonathan, personally I think he’d have a Yamper/Boltund, to stick with the Danny idea, but also for the possible Hamon aspect of it. Plus, Yamper are super bubbly and excitable. I also like the idea of him and Erina each having an Applin because according to the games, in Galar(aka Pokemon England) giving someone an Applin is a sign of great romantic affection and that you’ll be together forever

Jotaro has a Froakie which eventually evolves all the way into a Greninja since Emo Water Boi, and he loves that little guy to death. He’s raised the little frog since it was an egg and loves him more than anything, and he’s also one of Two(2) living beings on earth prior to Stardust whom Jotaro felt comfortable with(the other being his mother). Also I like to think that after Jotaro becomes a marine Pokémon researcher he just has a ridiculous amount of water types, including a massive horde of Staryu/Starmie, one of which is a shiny

For Josuke, I can’t remember where it was or who did it, but I saw someone make a post about his having a Hatterene and I’ve jumped on that train. They had really good reasons and off of the top of my head they were 1) Crazy D colors, 2) has a capacity to both heal and deal loads of damage, 3) hair, 4) terrifyingly easy to piss off

And finally Johnny!...... I’m not fully sure which ones to give him for combat, but I like the idea of giving him a Ditto who helps as a mobility aid

Maybe my thoughts will change or expand later, but for now this is what I’ve got! I would love to hear what ideas anyone else has tho :>

okay buckle up I had so many thoughts

For sure!! So in this AU the MCP3 work closely together in the “game” events because they started out as trainers together when they were teenagers! They each have a Pokémon on their team that kind of reminds them of each other :D

Dave has a Morpeko (hangry/dark form) and Luxray (Thatcher and Ruth, respectively)

Thatcher has a Morpeko (full belly/:3 form) and Togekiss

Ruth has a Yamper and Lucario

They took different paths, but Dave works closely with MCPD due to his research on the alternate invasion! Thatcher still kind of stays his isolated self, but gets pulled back into the story by Ruth, who took up his mantle after he went into hiding. Ruth and Thatcher are considered better battlers because they’re officers, but Dave still has a defensively strong team that uses paralysis/flinching strats over pure offensive strength. Thatcher uses a stall, physically defensive team to wall out his opponents while Ruth uses a speedy, offensive team! All three teams work well in doubles fights and synergize well with each other (not smogon verified lmao)

As for Sarah, her team is almost completely thematically composed. Her aces are Gengar (the most classic ghost type out there) and Hatterene, whose dex entries talk about psychic power fueled by emotion and anger. Her other ghost types are phantump, a child’s wandering spirit, chandelure, who lures and burns the remnants of spirits. Clefable might take some more explanation, but I see Sarah using a clefable as a way to better her view of the dark, as the clefable line is associated (canonically) with the moon and (imo) peace/positive spirits. It’s also the counter type to Gengar in design! So that’s neat lol. Sylveon used to be Mark’s, and she uses him to honor his memory :)

Compared to Adam, she is a more technical and strategic battler, specializing in two types to counter both ghosts and the alternate’s dark types! She’s one of the more difficult trainers to battle due to her strength and trainer versatility.

She was supposed to take on the professor role from Dave, but she didn’t want to be tied down to the town her brother died in. She hangs around the shop and is supportive of Evie taking her place! As for BPS as a group, it’s less of an investigation-based group and more of a “study and appreciate ghost types” while rehoming them from people’s houses. She just thinks they’re neat :D When she’s feeling sad, her Gengar will make her laugh and attempts to communicate with Mark’s spirit. He’s not very good at it, but it’s the thought that counts! (Mega Gengar’s dex entries reference communicating across dimensions, so regular Gengar isn’t very good at it due to not being as powerful). He’s Sarah’s silly purple ghost boy and I adore him.

What do we think about a pokemon au for Bridgerton? Like we still have the Regency era but throw in some pokemon to spice it up. I know I made a similar post before when I assigned eevee evolutions to the siblings, but now I want to expand on it. Here's a few pokemon I would give to the siblings and spouses. Don't worry, I'll put pictures

So I like to think Edmund and Violet all gave their children eevees. Seeing as Violet and Edmund's own eevees were how they started to fall in love in this au. I also just thought it was funny giving the eight siblings the eight eevee evolutions.

Tumblr is also being rude right now and not letting me put all of this in one post so I'm going to have to post these by the couples and some bonus characters. Right now I have three couples set so I'm gonna post them and the bonus characters first! If you guys get any ideas for the other couples let me know!

First up Kathony!

Anthony -

Anthony evolved his eevee into a Flareon. His siblings always joked it matched Anthony's temper and his ahem passionate fury. Anthony also has a Beedrill that he was given as a Weedle due to being the heir of the viscountsy. All the Viscounts before him have either raised a Beedrill or a Vespiquen due to bee pokemon being the family's crest. After the death of his father via pin missile attack from a Combee, it took Anthony a while to be able to be near the pokemon. The first pokemon he caught on his own was a Mudbray, which later evolved into a Mudsdale.

In order Flareon, Beedrill, Mudsdale

Kate -

Kate has a Rapidash that she raised from a ponyta. Ridding her Rapidash was how she met Anthony as she got in a race with him and his Mudsdale. Kate won, of course. She also has her good boy Newton, which is a Yamper. Kate also does have a Vespiquen, which scared the absolute shit out of Anthony because he didn't realize the pokemon was Kate's. Kate had to calm down both Anthony and her Vespiquen. (When the rest of the siblings saw Kate with her Vespiquen, they immediately knew she was gonna be the viscountess.)

What pokemon would make up teams owned by the Characters in Star vs The Forced of Evil

I am back making my lists, and its time to do Star vs the forces of evil. So like my previous lists (TOH, GF, Amphibia) this show had a large cast. This show was also had a longer run time than any of them, 4 seasons, and who the important characters were depended on which season. This list contains my picks for Star, Marco, Ludo, and a handful of Star and Marco’s close friends. If you do not see your favorite character here, and have an idead as to a pokemon they would be a really good trainer for feel free to put them in the comments.

Star Butterfly

Star was a really easy one to make a team for. Most of her magic moves with her wand involved conjuring up animal based creatures, and I just transfered them over to pokemon.

Cetitan: Star’s trademark attack is her “Narwhale blast” and when looking up Narwhale pokemon (and double/triple checking I got a actual pokemon and not a fanmade one) this is the pokemon that came up for Narwhal pokemon.

Joltik: The smallest and (In my opinion) the most adorable of the spider pokemon, also packs a powerful shock. A near perfect representation of Star’s strongest spell: Spider with a top hat.

Yamper: a cute and playful little yellow dog pokemon with a heart symbol somewhere on its body. Its the closest I could find to the Laser puppies Star gifted the Diaz’s with on arrival.

Galarian Rapidash: Star had a love for Warnicorn’s, their speed, their furosity, and did not want an adult life were she had no time to ride and have fun with them. So I will give her a Rapidash. An Galarian rapidash because those fit Star’s style better and add a fairy type to her team.

Makuhita: Star does not always really on magic to fin a fight though, She also knows how to brawl/box. So I wanted to give her atleast one fighting type. I picked Makuhita while its a heavy hitter and a real tough pokemon its also got a very cute and tubby design; it looks like a Sumo pikachu. Like Star its adorable from a distance, threatening up close.

Nidoran girl: represents her bond of friendship/romantic with Marco. He has a boy one.

Marco Diaz

Solrock: Marco was originally going to be named Sol. He is also represented in that Prophatic image as the Sun right? Star is an actual star and Marc is the sun, they are together? Pretty sure I remember that. If Marco is represented by the sun n the show than it’s only fair I carry that over onto my team by giving him a solrock.

Lucario: Marco loves and does karate, so I picked a fighting type that’s method of fighting it more simlar to karate for him.

Shiny charizard: I really wanted to give him a dragon type to reresent his dragoncycle Nacho’s. The Original one I had picked out was another Fame made non offical pokemon (I have to be more careful of those). Of offical pokemon Charizards Shiney form. I think its still fair that this be his strongest. He did spend decades training and fighting with Nacho’s in Hekapoo’s dimension

Kirlia: a graceful and feminie pokemon to represent Marco’s super popular princess persona Princess Turdina. Also to give him a fairy type as well.

Nidoran boy: represents his bond of friendship/romance with Star. She has a girl one.

Ludo Avarius

Mimikyu: A fairy and dark pokemon that has issues with its appearence as well as mentality, and can also mess with the mental state of others. I am not sure if Ludo and Mimikyu would make each other better or worse, or worse than better (hopefully that one). But that they would be a very intresting and entertaining partnership of that I am sure.

So Ludo’s monster henchmen in season 1 were not the best as we can all agree (Sorry about that Buff Frog. We all know you did try). But in season 2 he had a pretty strong team, what with Bird, Spider, and those rats. To represnt them I will give him a Sparrow, an Aridos, and a Alalon Rattata.

Rufflet and Vullaby: These represent his brothers and sisters. The ones who after going through everything he did, he was able to go back and save from their awful parents.

I gave these three teams of six since they were arguably main characters. The rest of the list will be notable secondary characters, who will each get three.

Janna Ordonia

Haunter: Both it and Janna like to scare/prank people

Nickit: a theif pokemon that helps Janna swipe other peoples stuff

Klefki: It helps Janna break into places she is otherwise not allowed

Tom Lucitor

Scorbunny, Litleo, Fennekin.

I gave Tom each of these three for the same number of reasons. Firstly they are all fire types, and Tom is a fire demon. Secondly all of them are fuzzy and adorable, and in the show Part of Toms anger management therapy involves soothing himself by petting/playing with cute fuzzy animals. I could see eaxh of these three being part of his therapy (yes I did look up “fire bunny pokemon specfically to find one to represent Marshmellow) Lastly while they are in no threatening, cutesy, first forms now, they all evolve into very strong battlers. Once Tom got his own temper under enough control that he could handle pokemon battles he could do pretty well with these three.

Jackie Lynn Thomas

Chimecho: She has a very soothing appearence and personality. She also told Marco that one time she is into soft rock. So I gave her a soothing, soft toned, music pokemon

Baltoy: She also told him she was really into studying history. Baltoy may not be a fossile pokemon, but it is historic. In addition to that it has great balance to stay perpetually spinning in place like that. Jackie also has great balance on her skateboard

Vaporeon: So despite fans best efforts and theorising, the show creator never did reveal Jackie to secretly be a mermaid, who’s able to live on land becasue her shell necklace is actually a magical amulet that when worn exchanges her see tail for a pair of land legs. But it was a great theory, and she does give off very beachy, merlike, vibes. So idecided to give her a merlike water pokemon, that could travel both in water and on land. Also I had to exclude Vaporeon from my Gravity Falls list, and still really wanted to give it to someone cool.

Kelly.. Huh looks like she was about the only character to not get a last name. Wow. Okay just Kelly

Galatian Moewth, Mankey, Tangrowth

Like with Tom all three of Kelly’s Pokemon were ones I picked for the same reasons. Those reasons were that all three are tough, scrappy, pkemon; completely covered from head to toe in wild, untameable, hair.

Eclipsa Butterfly

I wasn’t gonna do Eclipsa at first, simply becasue I wanted to keep the secondary characters evenly split between earth and mewni characters. But she is like the third most iconic character in the show and I had to do her.

Spiritomb: You know dark types would be her favoite, and I feel like the more sinister lore with Spiritomb would really intrigue her and make her want one.

Honchkrow: eyes in the sky to replace he all seeing eye spell . They also have basically the same taste in hats, so there’s that.

Roserade: She says in the beganing of season 3 that she loves roses.

Oskar Greason

(why does he get a last name when Kelly didn’t?) Here let me throw Oskar in as well as Eclipsa to keep numbers more even.

Toxel: To represent his interest in playing music.

Furret: Because he has a pet ferret

Noibat: goes with his whole bad boy musician vibe, and with the added bonus that it would maybe be able to freak out his mom’s boyfriend whom he is implied to absolutely hate.

rating: fluff / pg. this is set before Laventon traveled to Hisui!

“I’m home!”

A heavy sigh leaves Laventon as he peels off the jacket from his body, mindfully shaking off the rain that had drenched it prior to his arrival. The storm outside rumbled in a teasing manner, almost as if it laughed at his current condition that it had put him in. A short grumble made it past his lips before his lips quirked up in a smile, hearing the distant yapping of his beloved four-legged best friend; Yamper.

“Hello, old friend.” Squatting down to the canines height he ran a hand over its back before cupping the electric types head to give it a good squish. “I take that you were a good boy while I was away?”

“It was more than just a good boy… But a proper gentleman.”

Laventon’s gaze went from Yamper to your frame that stood there waiting for him with the most kindest and loving smile. The man felt himself melt in spot, already smiling ear to ear as a light blush coated his cheeks. You two have been together for some time now and he still blushed as madly as he did when you first met one another.

"Y/N.. My dearest, hello. How was your day?" He was more than happy to meet you halfway as he took your hand, leaning toward to bring you closer to him to press a sweet kiss on your lips. A hum left him tingly and he completely relaxed when your eyes met his.

Your hand that wasn't being held by his came to wrap itself partially across his torso, palm flat against the back of his shoulder. "It was quite fine, love. Me and Yamper did a few chores and went on a walk or two. We even went to a bakery nearby. Isn't that right, Yamper?" There was a way that you spoke to the dog that now was at your heels that made it start barking. It contently ran in circles around you and Laventon before eventually shoving itself between the two of you to rest on your feet. "Though I see the walks didn't tire you out as much as they tired me out!"

You laughed out loud with a shake of your head, missing the way the man before you watched you ever so lovingly. His smile couldn't compare to the one on your face. He truly, and sincerely, was in love with you.

"Why don't we sit, hm? Let your feet rest and avoid getting any Yamper hairs on your skirt." Laventon chuckled as he led you away from the foyer and into the living room. It was a small space with dark oak wood lining the floor and velvet colored wall decorated with gold imprints. There was a red loveseat with two fluffy pillows, and two individual ones on both sides with a smaller table that held a softly glowing lamp.

You two worked hard to make this place into a home.

"Dear?" You spoke the second you two sat, your knees brushing his as you rested your hands in your lap. "My love, I forgot to tell you. You've received a letter about your travels to Hisui... Do you really plan on going?" You toyed with your bottom lip as you asked the dreaded question. You didn't want him to go, truthfully, but you knew his expertise was needed. Especially for this village that seemed brand new.

Your beloved seemed to pick up on your mood and sighed through his nose, letting go of your warm hand to rub the back of his neck before running a hand through his curls.

"I must go, dearest. It'll be beneficial for that village, and not only that, imagine the different Pokemon I'll be able to meet and document!" He smiled wide at the thought, leaning forward in hopes of making you smile as well. He didn't want you to fret. "I won't be there long, only for a couple of seasons until they are able to find a new professor... Unless, you wish to accompany me on my travels?"

He sounded hopeful as he searched your eyes for an answer, but you merely smiled at him shyly.

"As much as I would love to go with you, my love." The hand he had let go went to settle on his chest, fingers brushing against the soft wool of his vest. "Galar will still need at least one of it's professors." You pecked his lips before pulling away, brushing yourself off as you padded away to the kitchen that was connected to the living room.

Laventon sat there in a daze before shaking himself out of it, a grin now settled on his lips. "Ah yes, how could I forget that Galar can't survive without it's other Professor Laventon." He seemed to puff in pride as he spoke, sitting straight up with Yamper soon joining him on the couch to sit as high and mighty as its owner.

You laughed at your husband, shaking your head. "Yes, you're exactly right." Bringing out a simple tea set that you had prepared in advance, you set it down on the small table where the lamp sat and faced the dark skinned man once again. "Now although I'll miss you greatly... I expect you to write to me about what you've learned, and what you've discovered! Perhaps even bring me back a Pokemon." Handing him a tea cup full of the sweet smelling brew, you handed him a napkin as well.

"Well in exchange for such information... Surely there must be something in store for me?" Laventon spoke rather bashfully, already his face burning.

"My sweet husband. I cannot kiss you over letters!" Another laugh escaped you as you took your own tea cup and brought it to your lips.

"You could always... Kiss the letter...!"

"And then what? You'll kiss the remnants of my lipsticks?"

You nearly doubled over how red the Professor had turned.
