Besides, nobody wears masks inside the walls of New Nazareth, so everyone will see my razor-sharp, jumbled mess of teeth and rotting flesh. I could pull out one of my fingernails and not feel a thing. When people look at me, the first thing they'll think is monster, is Seraph, not girl.
Literally mans is out here achieving my gender goals
Have you guys considered what the world might've be like if sometime a century ago, people started being born with ink embedded into their skin, and powers at their fingertips? No? Well you should start, because I have the new-age queer book for you.
Think X-Men meets coming-of-age meets a bit of Percy Jackson action.
My goal is to give a sense of belong to anyone whose eyes grace my work. I know how important rep is to every minority and I want to do everything I can to give that representation.

Here's the book blurb :)
After being in online school for the last four years, Scottlin Vincino starts his Junior year at a new private boarding school an hour from home. It should have been similar to any other in-person school-- but alas, they had everything Scottlin didn’t.
A mark.
He'll have to keep it a secret, but it gets tricky when you have a knack for ending up in the infirmary… Whether it be for the hot boy you just met, or you're swept up in one of the freak accidents at the school that seem to just keep happening.
Scott will have to juggle his sexuality, his grades, and his new friends all while solving the mystery of what is happening to his new academy.
I will forever be bothered by how boys in fantasy shows lack whimsy.
The teen girls are riding unicorns, talking to fairies and being happy, while the teen boys are like "eew, fairies. Magic. Ew. I wanna go home and play videogames" I literally wanna punch them.
I want whimsical boys plz. Hell, I want whimsical men. Fully grown adult men, their eyes sparkling with childlike wonder as they cast spells and pet unicorns and protect magical plants.
Jupiter North. I want more Jupiter North please. Read Nevermoor, yall
⭐️✨LUNAR BOY RECIEVED ANOTHER STARRED REVIEW FROM KIRKUS REVIEWS!!!✨⭐️
We now have two starred reviews, from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly! Starred Kirkus reviews are extremely rare and difficult to get, we're beyond blown away that Lunar Boy was able to get such a prestigious mark. Reading a review praising the Indonesian and queer representation has me all in my feelings.
When the Angels Left the Old Country by Sacha Lamb
goodreads
Uriel the angel and Little Ash (short for Ashmedai) are the only two supernatural creatures in their shtetl (which is so tiny, it doesn't have a name other than Shtetl). The angel and the demon have been studying together for centuries, but pogroms and the search for a new life have drawn all the young people from their village to America. When one of those young emigrants goes missing, Uriel and Little Ash set off to find her.
Along the way the angel and demon encounter humans in need of their help, including Rose Cohen, whose best friend (and the love of her life) has abandoned her to marry a man, and Malke Shulman, whose father died mysteriously on his way to America. But there are obstacles ahead of them as difficult as what they’ve left behind. Medical exams (and demons) at Ellis Island. Corrupt officials, cruel mob bosses, murderers, poverty. The streets are far from paved with gold.
Mod opinion: I haven't read this book yet, but it sounds interesting.
I know a lot of people don’t like the show because the premise makes them uncomfortable and that’s fine but since teachers in Florida are being interrogated by the police for giving students mainstream YA novels that are now considered child pornography I need to say.
Big Mouth does not normalize pedophilia but does normalize being gay and trans (literally the best trans rep I’ve ever seen in a cartoon) so please be suspicious of anyone calling it “child pornography”.
It also normalizes feminism, sex education, abortion, mental health, and stabbing rapists and child molesters in the dick. So if you like Adult Cartoons but wish their politics weren’t so reactionary then maybe check it out? But if a shock comedy about going through puberty isn’t your thing then that’s fine too.
Shara slips the necklace under the neckline of her dress and straightens her shoulders, and Chloe realizes this is Shara when nobody's looking. Born so smart and so curious and so fucking proud that not even Jesus could convince her she was wrong. Saved by God first and her God complex second. Going through hell and painting pink nail polish over it.
"Long ago, [...] there was a world of wonders – of what you and I might call magic. Great towers and palaces, fragrant gardens and marvellous creatures. In that world, a Dark King rose, growing in power and killing those who stood in his path."
