“It isn’t often my son allows our lives to intersect.”
For good reason, she knows; just as she’d taught him. Connections are a liability and sentiment could kill him faster than any bullet. This is despite the way she holes herself in her lab, already secured to the upmost, a location that officially doesn’t exist. For Khan, she is a ghost and a memory, but one that has a habit of haunting.
“You must be Rey.” Sarina doesn’t mention how she knows. She doesn’t mention that she’s surprised he’s kept anyone close as long as Rey. “I’m Dr. Kaur. It’s nice to meet you.”

“I don’t know why you think I can change his mind.”
Or rather, why she would want to? The First Order did little to comfort her, though she held no warmth for the Republic either. Kamino and its Clone Army had soured any inkling that those who run the galaxy could change. And to know that her son-- biology meant nothing, she had made him, she had written his genetic code nucleotide by nucleotide-- was being hunted like an akk-dog, it was difficult to remain cordial.
“Until now, I was not aware he was out of stasis. I can’t help you.”

“Who are you?” Broken pieces of the language she had learned under unfortunate circumstances. Voice like shards of glass despite the petite woman it stems from-- accusing, paranoid, and for good reason.
