This is a regular no high-stakes teen drama IF BUT which teen drama live-action tv show of any genres would the ROs fit and thrive in? Riverdale, Euphoria, Glee, Sabrina, Gossip Girl, Teen Wolf, etc.?

I can't really see Dylan in a supernatural based show, mainly because they're mostly about drama between a friend group and all the betrayals but... Dylan is too much of a people's person to do well in that kind of environment... I could see them being an outlier in drama shows like Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars but they wouldn't exactly ✨thrive✨, ygm? Somehow I feel like the show I'd put them in is actually a supernatural show, Wynonna Earp──where they'd be an Earp sibling and a very good glue to keep the whole group together. (Plus WE's protags are all human and are accepting of LGBTQ+ so Dyl would fit in very well!) Though I'd like to see them in a straight up horror like I Know What You Did Last Summer or One Of Us Is Lying!

Shay is 100% Stiles Stilinski coded from Teen Wolf. I don't know why I get werewolf show vibes from Shayne... but I do! So Teen Wolf or Wolf Pack, Wolfblood and Bitten... but he's the only human in the supernatural pool! I could also see his on a more mature show like Grimm where he'd be like a more upbeat Trubel learning how to be a good Grimm and protect the good Wesen...

I feel like Kinsley would do well in drama based shows like Gossip Girl, Elites or Euphoria where it's more about interpersonal relationships and secrets. Though I could see her in other shows like Glee (where she learns how to be comfortable in herself à la Stantana) or The Vampire Diaries (Kinsley is very much like Caroline, actually, and I think becoming a vampire would actually do wonders for her character arc quicker than anything else!)

Maybe unsurprisingly, J would do well in shows like Deadly Class, The Society, The Order or Misfits both aesthetically and personality wise──being more intense than other shows/people (see: Shay&Teen Wolf or Teenage Bounty Hunters) with a complicated plot/magic system/storyline. And J's not afraid of a fight. That being said I think J could bring something to ridiculous shows like Riverdale or CAOS that would ground them a little (a 'what the fuck' kind of personality) but mainly I'd just want to see what fuckery J comes up with during the pain that are those shows. Lmao!

Put Theo in a thriller I just wanna see how they react lmao. I wanna see them in Yellowjackets or The Wilds or Alice in Borderland... they're actually quite smart when things don't center around reading so I feel like their solutions to situations would be super interesting to see! Though, to not traumatise them (lmao) I'd also put Theo in shows like Locke and Key, First Kill or Lockwood and Co!

As an ensemble I could see all of them in shows like Outerbanks, Surviving Summer, Heartbreak High, Sex Education or SKAM... or more supernatural shows like Paper Girls, Motherland: Fort Salem or Wednesday... I'd like to see what kind of supernatural being they'd end up being!

josephine han had a very modest upbringing. she was raised on a small ranch in schulenhurg, texas by her maternal grandparents after her biological parents, who were teenagers at the time, signed away their parental rights just days after her birth. to most people this would have been devastating, however, josie didn't mind too much. her grandparents loved her unconditionally and never hid the fact that she was adopted. despite her grandparents best interest, josie grew up with a sense of authority over her life. she always believed that she could do anything as long as she put her mind to it and tried her best. they were tough on her at times, but she knew it came from a place of love. after graduating from high school, she enrolled at the university of texas at austin, located about an hour and a half from her childhood home, to pursue a degree in animal science. initially, her grandparents were hesitant about her moving to the city, so she commuted daily for classes and work for the better part of four years. however, upon graduation, josie, desperate for a bit of freedom, finally convinced them to let her move into the city after promising to visit every weekend. she has been living in austin since and pursuing her veterinary degree and working as a tech at the local animal hospital. josie's biggest fear about moving away from home was that she would grow distant from her family and her life in schulenburg. although, at times she feels like she has it under control most of the time she finds herself living a double life as her grandparents no longer know anything about her.

8 Shows To Know Me

Thank you to the lovely Em @between-a-ship-and-a-hard-place for tagging me! I love doing these, although I sometimes tend to get a little lost because how can I pick only eight? There are so many! Ok, I'm forcing myself not to overthink this, so here we go:

My So-Called Life

God how I loved this show as a teenager. I was a bit too young for it when it first aired, but once I discovered it a few years after it was cancelled (this is really an all-time top contender in the 'tragically cancelled too soon' category), I watched it over and over again. When I was 13, my entire wardrobe was modelled after Rayanne Graff--hair, clothes, everything. I even carried lollipops around with me! I wanted to be her so bad. I also very obviously--though not to me at the time--had a giant crush on her. Oh well.

ER

I put this here because ER was the first TV show that I can remember actively following week after week. I haven't seen an episode of it in years, so I have no idea if it holds up, but it was such a staple of my tv diet for more than a decade (15 seasons!) that I can't not mention it here.

Severance

Probably my favorite (new) show of last year. As someone who spent years working an office job, slowly climbed up the corporate ladder, and then one day blinked and said "fuck this shit, I'm going back to university!", this show spoke to my soul. The way it examines the absurd and often dehumanizing elements of "workplace culture" and all the hierarchical and interpersonal bullshit attached to it in such a smart & funny way made me swoon with admiration. Also, this could've gotten in on aesthetics alone because the production design on this show is fucking fantastic.

Wynonna Earp

I love this show but it really serves as a stand-in here for a whole bunch of slightly pulpy, slightly campy, queer genre shows that often have a bigger heart than budget, of which I have watched many with GREAT enthusiasm (see also: IWtV, Shadow & Bone, the first season of Sleepy Hollow, etc.) It also gives me an excuse to use this gif of Melanie Scrofano wielding a sword.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Listen. I'm not saying this is a good show. But have I watched it? Multiple times even? Yes. I have. I mean, Bucky fucking Barnes is in it, and I happen to have no self-control and a huge capacity for torturing myself when it comes to this character. The brief here was not to list 'The Best' shows, but the ones that say something about me. And well, it would be ridiculous to pretend that the MCU--for better or worse--has not made up a huge part of my media consumption over the past 15 years.

Band of Brothers

I have lost track of how many times I have watched these 10 episodes in my life. Other people do a yearly rewatch of The Lord of the Rings, I do one of BoB. I realize that's a little weird maybe, but the hold these characters still have on me after all these years is insane. No one will ever break my heart like Eugene Roe in the "Bastogne" episode. Also, this is a great example of how I tend to hyperfixate on topics that I had no previous interest in once I see a movie or a TV show about them that I really like. I've read so many books about D-Day. *shakes head* (see also: The Terror, Chernobyl, The Serpent)

The Last of Us

*points to pfp* You didn't think this wasn't going to be on here, did you? Of course it is! I LOVE the game this is based on with all my heart. I've spent countless hours playing it. I even wrote a paper about it! I was so, so nervous about the adaptation, but it turned out to be better than I ever dared to hope.

BoJack Horseman

I'm not really into cartoons. I'm not really into half-hour comedies. I would have never watched this show if a friend hadn't quite literally sat on me one day, and forced me to at least watch one episode. And you know what? It's really funny! It's also one of the smartest shows about existential loneliness and depression I've ever seen. It's at times almost unbearably painful to watch. And it stars a cartoon horse voiced by Will Arnett. Who would've thought? Not me!

Tumblr's tweaking the algorithm a little so when you search for dolls instead of things directly tagged #dolls (i use search because a lot of folks tag just the brands or #doll community) lately, things have changed.

//For background: there's always been at least one person a week who feels seen by Iris by the goo goo dolls; there are anime, cartoons with characters called doll or who are dolls, bands with doll in the name, Dolls was a character on Wynonna Earp. Black trans women who use the term dolls for eachother, female rappers and porno stars with a name that's xxxx doll. The dollette/coquette aesthetic folks. A dozen posts a day about mentally playing with characters like dolls and tumblr users playing with jpegs like dolls. There are the real doll sellers and owner personal blogs. Porcelain, ancient, reborns, clowns and plushies along with the small kpop plush dolls that expanded to many fandoms, a few folks selfies where they're 'dolled up' or enjoy being called doll. Some disturbing roleplay, some disturbing writings about children. The occasional 'barbie doll diet' ED tag.

As you can tell, vast subject. Takes some filtering to get what you're looking for. //

This past week or so, the search expanded and it's not to do with the words or tags used but the photos. The new arrivals are women wearing babydoll tops, women with large breasts (possibly very similar to posts usually tagged bimbo doll) and older women in bikinis. There are also eating disorder pictures unrelated to dolls that reuse photos previously tagged as dollette when uploaded to tumblr, the text is vague enough to not set off anything but finely tuned filters looking for abbreviations and expressions used by the ED communities.

I think tumblr is testing some kind of auto categorizer for pictures, maybe so it can suggest tags to users or suggest like minded tumblrs even if you don't tag your posts.

All that to say that if you have an ED, the dolls search page isn't entirely safe, if you have the ed not sheeran, and leet speak variations on pro ana tags you'll block those but not the untagged ones that are using pictures previously used for dollette/coquette. I have dollette muted but those posts showed up. No idea what's going on under the hood but if your triggers are serious, browse with caution and stick to a variety of tags instead of vaguer fandom or craft terms that could contain stuff you can't mute.

What's interesting is that this image categorizer may prove very helpful in the future with specific triggers like guns or clowns or flashing lights that often go untagged, it could be used to mute a picture and say 'may potentially contain flashing lights'. That would be very very good for this website's accessibility.

Either way, take care. Having a firefox tab open with your filtered content page while browsing a search term can help you quickly identify what you'd rather mute and put it in your settings without having to rescroll from the start.

I've spent a long time lurking on this blog waiting to compose the "right" first post but it's never exactly what you thought would be right anyway... right?

So for anyone meeting me right now. Hi.

I don't have DNIs but I do have a few disclaimers so I only interact with people who feel comfortable doing so: I am a man (yes I'm trans, but YES I'm a "real" man) and probably older than you (early millennial). I was a teen parent, so I literally have a child who is an adult in their 20s.

I'm autistic and have multiple physical disabilities, and I use a wheelchair.

I like the Muppets (and all things Jim Henson, and puppetry in general) and middle grade horror. I love country music and Chapel Hart is the best band ever. I am not immune to occasional SPN-posting but if you know me from my old Supernatural blog, no you don't.

I will sometimes post things from a weird sampling of fandoms including but not limited to: Wynonna Earp, Doctor Who, Stranger Things, BCS/BRBA, The Good Place, and probably Paper Girls if there turns out to be a fandom because holy shit I'm in love so far.

Sometimes I'll also post cat videos, pictures of manatees, Jewish shtetl aesthetics, backyard chickens, vintage campers and cars, vaguely eerie country roads, literally any object the color teal, and various overlaps thereof.
