Controversial opinion: I think the nevermore movie musical should allow a Ezra Squall and only Ezra Squall to break the fourth wall.

And they usually use his “awareness” of the camera to give him just a slightly unsettling feeling, like he’s seeing more than everyone else.

And then in the Wundersmith movie when Morrigan says she doesn’t know any songs he just stares directly in the camera like he’s in The Office.

it would be funny if jupiter ignored her and left so often during the first book because he didn’t wanna see the confusion and anxiety he was causing morrigan by not admitting she was a wundersmith. he just didn’t want to watch or block out her terrified visions of the show trial any longer

but now imagine she does the same thing in silverborn to try and hide the deal. she begins going to practice at wunsoc more and more until she’s hardly ever home. an interesting parallel, wouldn’t you say?

My theory that Jupiter North is, in fact, the Doctor.

and yet, as she stood in her bathroom, her hands covered in feathers and ash, morrigan knew she must tell SOMEONE.

maybe jupiter would be supportive? no, he would laugh.

and so, she decided to tell nobody.

she sighed and looked in the bathroom mirror, one of the only things left unscathed by her hallows eve shenanigans. her reflection seemed to taunt her. “you really think you could pull this off, huh?” it seemed to say. “pathetic.”

morrigan looked back and squinted in retaliation. “fuck you.” she flipped it the bird.

the mirror creaked in response. morrigan chuffed and walked out of her bathroom and into her room, humbled by the experience. her room resembled an apocalypse; parts of the wall were scraped off and black feathers were still floating in the air. the air smelled faintly of smoke, which, compared against the other many rivets of destruction, was the least of her problems.

she knew her powers as a wundersmith were limited, but she didn’t expect them to be THIS out of control. she only tried to make a costume for hallows eve, as suggested by miss cheery and the 919, but instead she had apparently summoned some deep, fucked up emotions, which had unexpectedly wreaked havoc across all her possessions. even her octopus armchair had curled up its tentacles in fear of destruction.

“sorry,” she murmured to it as she aggressively ripped off the feathers stuck to her hands. “didn’t mean to.”

“so much for a handmade costume, i guess.”

Why? Because Morrigan remembered Cadence.

No one else remembers her. that's the whole thing with mesmerists. But Morrigan did.

It could be a Wundersmith thing, of course, but something tells me if it was a Wundersmith thing it would have been established by now.

And with the rest of the characters, like Hawthorne or the rest of unit 919, it seems like the more connected or the closer they become with Cadence, the better they can remember her. Does that not mean that Morrigan was connected to her in the first place?
