But anyway, I loved this concept and also hated the way they solved JJ and Kie's fight in Season 4 so I tried to recreate it here with a better ending. Sorry, this took so long lol, much love!

He threw something out of frustration, panting. You looked back at his run-down house, the eviction notice nailed to the front door with bright yellow police tape crossing over it.

"Getting kicked out of this place in three weeks anyway. shit, I don't even got parents right now. Why would you care? Why would you care? I'm just some loser that..."

"JJ..."

"You don't care. No, you don't!"

"I do care!" you shouted, getting frustrated with his attitude.

"No, you got parents that live in Figure Eight, you know?"

"That's not my fault."

"That's your future." he countered walking towards the water, hand running through his hair in frustration.

"Look, if you need us, we're gonna help you. I'm... I'll help."

"No- It's that right there! Okay? Like... It's so easy for you to say that." he whirled around to face you, yelling, "You know why? Because you're a Kook. You're a Kook, Y/n!"

"Yeah... I'm a Kook. I was such a Kook when I was living in a cave with you for a month! Soaking in the Kook life!"

"That's not what I'm talking about. GOD!" he exclaimed, reaching for his bike, he swung his leg over the seat.

"Jayj, don't leave." you pleaded, the engine of his bike revved and he started to drive away,

"JJ, WHAT THE HELL?" You screamed after him, tears rolling down your face, "MAYBANK!"

You were pissed the fuck off.

The first day after your fight you hadn't seen JJ, you cried for a couple hours, indulging in your favorite ice cream watching a sad rom-com, really getting in your feels.

Kie texted you to ask you what was up, the pogues had gone fishing that day but you never showed, to angry and sad to show your face to the world.

'Ask the blond kid,' was all you responded. you watched as her three typing bubbles flashed beneath your text.

'shit head's not here either,' she responded. 'wtf is going on,'

'fight. he called me a kook.'

'oh shit,' was all she said.

A few days later you walked around the chateau and dug through John B's fridge, you were fully aware of JJ's presence on the couch but still continued to ignore him. It was closing in on a week since you had last uttered a word to him.

Grabbing a chilled beer you walked past JJ and to the front door.

"Y/n," he said, voice cracking.

It wasn't the first time JJ had tried to talk to you this week and once again you ignored him. You slipped your shoes on and walked out onto the porch, slamming the door behind you. You flinched at how harsh it was but brushed the feeling away as you took a sip of your drink.

You sat at the edge of JJ's hot tub, the disco lights twinkled in the water, and the beer started to make you feel nauseous. You set it down and let out a shaky breath, blinking away tears that made the colorful lights spur in all different directions.

'Oh stop it Y/n' you told yourself, you would not cry anymore over this boy, if he didn't want to date a 'kook' that was his problem.

A long time must have passed, you had slid down fully into the hot tub finishing off your drink and basking in your own thoughts. The sun had set and the tides changed across the water.

"Go!" You heard someone on the deck grunt, you looked up to see John B pushing JJ out the door towards you locking him outside. JJ made his way down the stairs awkwardly and stood at the edge of the hot tub across from you, not getting in like he was looking for your permission.

"What do you want Maybank?" you asked quietly.

"I-uh," he sniffled and you focused closer in the dim light to see tears streaming down his face. "I made you a bracelet,"

He mumbled in the softest voice that made your heart clench and reached out to hand it to you. You looked at it closely, intricate little hearts knotted into the design, made with your favorite colors. And of course, the sea blue strings that you had told him reminded you of his eyes countless times. You didn't know what to say. Until you heard the soft sobbing coming from his lips, he thought you didn't like it.

"No, JJ..." you cooed, wrapping the bracelet around your wrist and tieing it in a crisp knot. You slid yourself through the water and stood in front of him taking in his state. He looked at you with pleading eyes and you wrapped your arms around him. He collapsed into you, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face in your shoulder. You felt butterflies in your stomach at his touch and lifted a hand to stroke his hair. God you loved this boy so much.

"I-i'm sorry," he cried, "I called you a kook, I'm such a dick, It's all my fault..."

"No, Jayj-" you whispered.

"Yes,"

"No, I am in the wrong too, shouldn't have ignored you like that," you whispered.

"But I called you a kook," he said again.

"And then I was acting like one, it was wrong,"

You stood there in silence hugging each other, you you feel his breathing slow and he recovered to look up at you.

"Please forgive me," he said.

"Always, as long as you forgive me," he nodded frantically at you causing you to giggle.

"Thank god that's over," you heard Pope say in the distance.

"Yeah, pass me one of those?" Kie said, taking a beer out of the cooler, the rest of the pogues walking toward the hot tub.

You all settle down in the warm water, JJ snuggling into your side, looking at your bracelet sweetly for the rest of the night. You kissed the top of his head, knowing what ever happed in the future you could always get through it with him.

⇝ synopsis: izuku is very very clingy when he's tired

you’re on the couch reading the new book you just bought when izuku comes home. the tv is on in the background, channel flipped to some random cartoon that you vaguely recognize from when you were a kid. you had just turned to a new page when you hear the distant sound of keys jingling, and then the front door opens.

you check the time, noticing it’s a little later than usual, and then your eyes move to watch him trudge through the door. when his eyes meet yours, he gives you a tired smile that isn’t quite as radiant as his others but just as sweet, and he toes off his shoes.

you fold the top right corner of the page you’re on in your book. “long day?”

he sighs, unzipping his costume and beginning to strip as he pads along to you. “somewhat.”

your heart squeezes for him. izuku — deku — who gives and gives and rarely takes. you know your eyes are sad. “aw, baby.” pushing your book to the side, you open your arms wide for him. “come here.”

izuku complies without hesitation, down to just his boxers, costume laying on the floor behind him. you know he’ll clean it up later. he settles on top of you, wrapping his arms around your middle and resting his head on your chest. your own arms go around him, head resting on top of his, unruly curls tickling your chin. he lets out a deep sigh, nuzzling into you and squeezing your body once. “hi baby.”

you smile. “hey izu.” your hand is running through his hair, careful not to pull on the tangled spots and you give him a kiss on the crown of his head.

he hums, “how was your day?”

you explain to him everything you did, although you had already updated him throughout the day with various texts and pictures, and he you. he still listens to every word you say, nodding his head and humming along, eventually falling asleep on you. you listen to his soft snores, smiling to yourself about how much you love him. his weight feels so comforting on you.

it’s a little while later when you need to pee, so you try to gently detach him from your body, maneuvering him as best as you can with how much he weighs with all those big muscles.

you know your attempts at gently moving him have failed though when he starts to stir, eyes opening revealing a beautiful viridescent. "baby?" he sits up and yawns, extending his arms out past his head to stretch. "what..." a cute yawn interrupts him. "what are you doing?"

“go to bed, izu." you cup his face to peck his forehead, moving to pull away but then stopped by his arms wrapping around you. he rests his head on your stomach, giving it a kiss.

"where are you going?" he mumbles against you.

"i gotta use the bathroom."

"okay." he hums, still not letting go of you.

you stifle a laugh, running a hand through his har. "you need ta let go of me in order for me to do that."

"...oh." reluctantly, he removes himself from your body, looking up at you with a sheepish smile.

you laugh harder this time, causing his smile to grow bigger. "be right back."

moving over to the bathroom, you flick the lights on, settling on the toilet. you're there for at least ten seconds before the door opens again, and in comes izuku, still shirtless, still pantsless. you ogle him as he struts in like its the most normal thing ever, and you don't even say anything as the hunk of man plops on the floor in front of you, crossing his legs.

"...izuku?!"

"yeah?" he scoots closer to you, yawning again and covering his mouth.

"um. what... are you doing?"

he only blinks owlishly at you, sleep still obvious in his eyes. "im waiting for you to finish."

your eyes widen, and you don’t know whether to laugh or be confused. “you couldn’t wait in the bedroom?”

he throws that smile at you. the smile that melts your heart and your defenses. the smile that makes you fall in love all over again every time. “i didn’t want to be away from you.”

your heart fills with even more love than you thought possible.

as you finish up, izuku alternates between watching your every move and smacking his head on the wall as he falls asleep.

you shake your head, chuckling softly as you look at him, his eyes half closed. "izu?"

he blinks a couple of times, coming back to reality. "hmm?"

"you wanna take a shower?" you reach out your hand to help him up, and his own — large and warm — swallows yours. he stands, muscles rippling. he doesn't answer, instead using his arm to pull you into him, and you land against his chest with an oof. he hugs you close to him, resting his head in the crook of your neck and breathing in deeply. his skin is warm against you.

you bring your own arms around him. "you're awfully clingy tonight, aren't you?"

"that’s cause i just love you so much." he kisses your head.

you smile. "love you too." you stay like this with him for what you assume is a few minutes, and once you think he's fallen asleep again on you, you bring up taking a shower again.

"later," he answers.

"you mean tomorrow?"

"tomorrow."

"okay, baby." you detach yourself from him, heart warming at the whine he lets out and how he tries to reconnect. you place your hand on his chest, pushing him back. "let's go to bed, izu."

he nods his head, and you grab his hand once again, shutting the lights and leading the way out to the bedroom. izuku obediently follows you and squeezes your hand.

you strip and settle into the comfortable bed with him, his legs tangling with yours. you end up on his chest and he's holding you tight like if he lets go you might just disappear.

it's silent for a few minutes until you hear him mutter a thank you.

you blink. "for what?"

"for... being here. loving me. letting me love you."

you melt. "of course. you know you don't have to thank me for that. if anything, thank you izuku. thank you." a moment passes.

some place west of boston, the harbor town that the daughter of poseidon was more than sad to leave in the rearview mirror, the mishmash group of kids settled for the night. this time, thalia and y/n went scouting the area, leaving luke to occupy annabeth. they came across a rushing creek, both of them making the silent agreement to sit down and enjoy the sounds for a few moments. the sun was still rather high in the sky, neither of them too concerned for the moment being. y/n reached her hand forwards into the creek, letting the water rush through and between her fingers, giggling softly to herself as she felt the power course through her at just a touch. she glanced over her shoulder at thalia, who rolled her blue eyes as the daugther of poseidon flicked water at her.

"do you think there will be other kids like us at camp?" y/n questioned as she started untying her shoes, eager to dip her toes into her father's domain.

"you mean, like siblings?" thalia questioned and y/n hummed back in reponse, wiggling her toes in the rushing water.

"i've always wanted a brother," y/n pouted, not even the soothing water able to keep her mood up.

"i had a brother..." thalia whispered, barely being heard over the crashing of the water against the stones below. y/n instantly looked over at thalia with kind eyes, encouraging her to speak or not, if she so pleased.

"...his name was jason. jason james grace. he was younger, but i loved that boy so, so much. he- he tried to eat a stapler once, that silly boy. one day, he just disappeared and my mom wouldn't tell me where he went. im...im hoping he's waiting for me at camp, that he already made it," thalia admits, keeping her eyes away from the daughter of poseidon, too scared to allow her to see that much of her soul.

"he sounds sweet, thalia...thank you, for sharing," ocean's daughter mused, reaching a comforting hand out and resting it against thalia's thigh and rubbing gently. thalia, without a word, leaning her head against the other girl's shoulder and they continued to watch the rushing water.

in a few minutes, thalia would suggest that they should return, something about annabeth giving luke a headache with all the clever questions. and y/n would tug on her shoes, glancing back once more at the creek she'd probably never see again and thinking of the little grace boy, praying to the gods she could think of that he be safe at the camp...for thalia's sake.

I'm really sorry that anon went through a tough time during childhood (and I did too, being bullied at school and abused at home) but kids aren't fundamentally evil. They're IMPRESSIONABLE. which is incredibly different. They like imitating adults around them, and so when they are surrounded by terrible, mean adults, they act terrible and mean towards themselves & their peers too. It was apparent that anon was surrounded by adults who weren't nice and didn't do their job of educating those kids (including offering anon support), which is really sad.

But regardless of that, kids simply learn from people around them and they can be, and most often are, sweet and nice. and most importantly, even if they aren't sweet or nice, they are deserving of love and compassion and respect and affection, because only with that can we cultivate and nurture the sweet & kind side in their soul.

I feel like if anon felt alienated for being different, they should especially beware of such generalizing rhetoric of "all kids are [insert adjective]" because that's the exact kind of speech that isolates and alienates kids who act different. And I wonder if anon realizes that it was their abuser's language that's coming out of their mouth.

(cont'd) also, kind of unrelated but it made me think of this absolutely heartbreaking, sweet kid that I met on Tuesday during a visit to a kindergarten. I was supposed to go to different kindergartens to evaluate their teaching and give consultations, and a part of what I need to do is this one-on-one language assessment with the kids (age five and their mother tongue isn't english). So there was this girl, whose first words after sitting down was "I don't know any English." And I was like haha it's alright! Let's just try and see how much you know, then we can see where you can practice more on! And she went "okay >_<" (rather earnestly, like she didn't say she doesn't know shit because she didn't want to try) So we did a task, and she scored above average so I was like "You did really well! Why did you say you don't know anything?" and she went "But I still got two wrong :(" which was like, wtf girl who fucked up your self-esteem?? Kindergarten aged kids should feel like they're the coolest smartest shit in the world!! Like I was already ready to fight for her at this point okay Anyways I said "it's alright, now you know where you can work on!" and did another task with her, which she also did pretty well in So I tried to tell her some cliche encouragement like "sometimes we feel like we don't know anything because we feel scared, but when we be brave and try things out, usually we know a lot more than we thought we could! Just like you right now, look at how well you did! So please believe in yourself more" And this little girl deadass looked me in the eye and told me, very sincerely, "because mommy doesn't believe in herself, so I don't believe in myself either :(" I controlled my face, but internally my jaw was on the fking floor and I was screaming crying pulling my hair out. I was so HEARTBROKEN. Like I need to talk to that woman coz what did you do to your kid?? What did you project on her?? And this kid is so smart?? She is so self-aware like she is able observe her mother's emotions & understand her mentality and THEN recognize how her mother's mentality shapes her own?? Honestly, I don't think the majority of people at my age right noweven realize how others' mentality relate to their own. And she is able to articulate all that! Which just makes her statement extra sad, because she is so so smart and observant but she believes she doesn't know anything and that she is bad at school, which is fucking WRONG And I was just so fking devastated!! I want to hug her I want to adopt her I want to fix everything for her but I don't know how I could ever do that. I am not even her teacher, I'm just a nobody who comes once a month for some dumb observations and just, I don't have the ability to do anything significant enough. I tried my best to smile and said "oh no... but you said you think mommy is smart right? she just doesn't know that herself! and I think you are also very good, so you need to remember it for me okay?" and she was like ok >< Then I went home and cried for an hour cause I just feel so... powerless and like what am I doing?? What can I even do to change things for her and kids like her?? When and how will I ever be enough to make her feel happy and brilliant and innocent and no need to act so mature??? Kids are my soft spot and I don't think I will ever cease to feel heartbroken for them. They are so precious and trusting and loving yet so many adults just... betray that trust and abuse that love. And it is so easy to break them but so hard to build them back up, which is simply unfair. Anyways sorry for the venting (sort of) I just want to pour these out because I love kids so much and I want to hug them all and they are so precious and lovable and incredible. I guess my point is just please love and be kind to the kids you know and encounter cause you don't want to fuck them up and not to mention how could you feel anything but adoration when you interact with them
