i had some time to sit with the ending of fionna and cake now but it still didn't hit for me as it should, i'm sorry. still liked the show overall and i am grateful it brought on a whole new surge of simon enjoyers since i've loved his character for years, but still. the end point itself is mostly fine, but the path that was used to get there (both on simon's and fionna's plot) was so, so rushed. it was like a speed run of what the ending was supposed to be like, which made it lack the impact it should've had

A Niki and Elmer all dressed up for a party in a hypothetical world where Esperanza got Niki fancy clothes (I am so proud of Niki's fancy clothes). Esperanza probably shoved his own old clothes at Elmer idk.
Elmer looking a little unnerving and unhinged is only partially on purpose. (This is the second time that I've drawn Elmer doing that expression. idk)

because it's spooky season and i have a literal ton of muse for frankie's monster-creature-beast verse, i am going to toss out a brief starter call for it. but, because i don't have the verse written up entirely yet, this is going to be vague and you are more than welcome to ask me any questions.
so, tldr; she's some ancient being. she was born at the dawn of a sacred era, a chosen sacrifice. upon her first menstrual cycle, she was slaughtered for whatever old, devious entity her village worshiped. the skin on her body was flayed, a curse carved into her bones, and just like that she suddenly belonged to something much bigger and more powerful than herself. thousands of years passed in the blink of an eye and when her master-captor-friend grew sick of her, sick of the atrocities they'd committed together, he cast her from his eden with little hesitation. bound to her bones, she existed in a hundred lifetimes and changed skin each time. she is a type of shapeshifter. yes, she has weaknesses, but most prevalent is the threat of losing her bones. if those get destroyed, she's fucked. she doesn't need to feed to survive like a vampire or many other human presenting monsters. her appetite to kill and devour is purely malicious. mostly, she lives and hunts in the PNW of the united states. hikers are her jam, they go missing and stumble right into her territory. sometimes she takes pity on the little kids that get lost and keeps them alive until the rescuers find them. frankie always makes herself appear different though to them so there are know patterns to lead to back to her. she tells everyone that she's a timber heiress and that's what HER manufactured history shows. acres upon acres of forest are in her name, though technically protected by the USFD so there are some rules. she lives in a little house outside the city at the edge of a mountain and has all sorts of farm animals and pets, including a dog named bea. her closest friend is a shadow person that she'd conjured in her youth and they feed frankie information about the town and people and the woods. her main hustle is that she makes soaps and lotions and candles out of organic, rendered fat and has a little boutique in town to sell everything. where does the fat come from? definitely not the people they get lost in the woods.
so, if you want to interact with her freakself in this verse, hit me up. or like this post and i'll hit you up and write you a lil' starter 😈💖

I'm walking. Fast. The world is tilted. There's green peaking up from flat gray. Short, stubby moss. Like an ooze. Like the sidewalk is compressing it sideways. Persistent even in a concrete jungle. This little thing. This tiny thing. Reaching up toward the sun from under trampling feet. Toward a distant star. And I'm walking, but I'm light through a prism. Splitting seven different directions. A billion and a billion and a billion years brought this tiny crumpled organism to the crushing weight of my foot. And I want to scream and I want to run and I want to cry. Because it's beautiful and I'm worried I'm the only one who sees it. I'm worried it'll burn through me. I'm worried that when I walk this path for my hundred thousandth time, I won't see it like I did this first time. That my world will fall to ash again and I won't see the moss growing up between the seams in the sidewalk.

Okay this WILL BE SPOILERS. For totk.
THE GREAT PLATEAU IS CURSED I DONT LIKE IT ToT.
Made it here fine! Easy cruising altitude got the map landed no problem. Minimal enemies. There's a YIGA camped in MY MFING SHRINE OF RESURRECTION. It's all overgrown, that's fine ig, but the YIGA?? Get tf. Out.
Go see the temple, a new message from hylia! Very ominous, but yes ma'am! Off we go to free her from the water under the stone gate. Which gate? Well my first thought was the main blocked off entrance that's now a pond. But let's get a shrine first.
Shrine?? Hello???!
So not only is each original shiekah shrine now a pit to tartarus, there's only one new shrine tucked in the back end of the plateau where a goblin camp used to be. Fine! I'll just run everywhere on foot with my +1 stamina, shall I??
No! It's time for a wtf to hunt you down! The air will turn red with racing clouds, the sky is dark, music is playing backwards, I'm launching myself up the nearest tree and it still isn't fast enough. This is literally the fifth or sixth time I've encountered these, at least two directly ending in my death. They don't even get a question mark from the camera unlike any other miasma monster (for example the depth enemies). I've filled them with bomb arrows and it's made a fraction of a dent in one of them. Hateful hydra eye arm things. They're FAST and TALL. It's like the spindly flesh monster from oot but a hundred times worse. They nearly managed to reach me in the tallest tree!
They eventually leave - whatever triggers their disappearance I truly cannot tell - and grab the dark shards they leave. Okay! Cool! Unappreciated! I go into the pit by the lake, it is VERY SCARY, I get some light roots and reveal a whole civilisation! Giant zelda statues point to an enormous building in the shadows, I pluck up my courage and go over. ???? It's a poe eater statue. Enormous. Full bodied. Stretching down below the bridge I'm on. It's got six sunken eyes and they're all looking at me. I'm absolutely begging this thing not to move, I'm literally inching closer. This isn't a zonai carving at all, this isn't even a zonai room. They've dug into the rock, they DISCOVERED it.
It says the same thing.
I'm terrified. I'm beginning to think that whatever talked to me through the hylia statue, in the temple of time, with her voice and her light, isn't hylia.
Still, I've come too far to back out. I don't think denying this thing is wise.
Up I go! Run all the way from the shrine, off the edge, detour to find a new type of cave goblin or two, blow up the blocked entrance to the plateau. Through the carvings I can make out sort of a face? Hope it's hylia!
It. It isn't. It's the six eyed triangle face that eats souls :). Tells me to go back to the temple. I run onto the plateau (!!! Botw me would be so excited), get ambushed by four black armoured Bokoblins in a row, see 'hylia'. It tells me to bring its body in the depths stones from the four ex shrine pits 'for a reward'.
Nintendo.
What did you do?
