Some Quick Character Tips
Here are a handful of quick tips to help you write believable characters!
1. A character’s arc doesn’t need to grow linearly. Your protagonist doesn’t have to go from being weak to strong, shy to confident, or novice to professional in one straight line. It’s more realistic if they mess up their progress on the way and even decline a bit before reaching their goal.
2. Their past affects their present. Make their backstory matter by having their past events shape them into who they are. Growing up with strict parents might lead to a sneaky character, and a bad car accident might leave them fearful of driving.
3. Give reoccurring side characters something that makes them easily recognizable. This could be a scar, a unique hairstyle, an accent, or a location they’re always found at, etc.
4. Make sure their dialogue matches their personality. To make your characters more believable in conversation, give them speech patterns. Does the shy character mumble too low for anyone to ever hear, does the nervous one pace around and make everyone else on edge?
5. Make your characters unpredictable. Real people do unexpected things all the time, and this can make life more exciting. The strict, straight-A student who decides to drink at a party. The pristine princess who likes to visit the muddy farm animals. When character’s decide to do things spontaneously or in the heat of the moment, it can create amazing twists and turns.
6. Give even your minor character's a motive. This isn’t to say that all your characters need deep, intricate motives. However, every character should need or want something, and their actions should reflect that. What’s the motive behind a side character who follows your protagonist on their adventure? Perhaps they’ve always had dreams of leaving their small village or they want to protect your protagonist because of secret feelings.

Do you write for yanderes? Like a yandere version of a character
Ya I could totally try doing that!! It's not my favorite trope when it comes to writing relationships, but i've read enough fics to get the general idea. I'm also a sucker for anything horror/creepy, so I def would like to try it out to see if I like it!

Writing Siblings
@everything.writing on IG!
Sibling relationships can really enhance a story, especially one about family. Think about books like Caraval and The Cruel Prince. Sibling relationships aren’t the main focus of these story, but the MC’s siblings are certainly important character. However, writing siblings may be even harder than getting your sibling to close the door of your room. It may be even harder for only children.
Every sibling relationship is different. There are societal, cultural, and individual differences that will influence how siblings behave towards each other. For example, in America basically no one calls their sibling “bro” or “sis” but in Asian cultures (and others!), then it’s not only common but expected to call siblings “bro” and “sis” in their languages. Sibling relationships will also vary depending on the age/age difference between the siblings and how their parents raised them.
All siblings fight. Even with the differences mentioned above, fighting is something that 99.99% of siblings do. Fighting is a lot more common among siblings closer in age. Twins will fight a lot more than a teenager and a toddler. A lot of times, fights are about the dumbest stuff, like who’s sweater is whose, etc. Still, there are some more serious fights that can happen especially in stressful periods in family life.
Siblings still love each other and are protective of each other. This applies to healthy sibling relationships. Most siblings have a mentality of “only I’m allowed to bully my sibling but I’ll murder anyone else who does.” A lot of times they don’t say “I love you,” but deep down, despite their fighting, they love each other.
Siblings should have unique talents and personalities. Even though they come from the same family, they are different people regardless. This applies with twins as well. Perhaps one of them is a really artsy person, while another is super athletic, and the third is super smart. Usually, siblings being interested in different things can mitigate tension and competition, but that might cause some favoritism among parents (eg, one parent is really into sports and favors the sporty child). However, usually siblings have at least a few shared interests to bond over.
Families with 2 children and families with 3+ children have different sibling relationships. A lot of times, families with 3 or more children will have some of the siblings being closer to each other, while others are less close. This can vary due to interests or age differences. Sometimes, 2 siblings may gang up on a third or gossip about each other.
Consider how parents treat different siblings. Do the parents love all the siblings equally, or do they have a favorite? When parents have favorites, this can often cause tension between the siblings. This can lead to a golden child and black sheep.
How do people outside the family see the siblings? Sometimes, neighbors may view a pair of siblings as two peas in a pod. However, their individual friends may view them individually, outside of the sibling relationship.
Create banter and inside jokes. The majority of siblings have banter or inside jokes that only they understand. Get creative with this, or you can even borrow banter you’ve heard from other siblings or even some inside jokes from your own siblings!
Use examples from real life! If you have a sibling yourself, you can apply some of your own experiences to your sibling relationship. If you’re an only child, chances are, you’ve been around pairs of siblings before. Real life is often the best teacher of how to write relationships!
A little longer post this time, but this is actually one of my favorite posts that I’ve written. The cool thing is that all sibling relationships are different due to so many factors, so you can really be creative with this one!

Hello!
I go by Arcade, and I write for the Fallout Companions from FO3, FONV, and of-course my beloved broken mess FO4. I also will write for non-companions from these games if requested.
I will write fluff, angst, and NSFW (if I feel comfortable with it.) One shots, headcanons, companions react and anything else requested or that comes to mind.
I really love the Fallout series and am hoping that this blog shows it. Also in case, you are wondering I am currently replaying Fallout New Vegas. My current companion is Boone and I stole his hat.

i will not cry
how skilled your hands must be. how delicate. and careful. and aching they must be. To craft your own coffin and dig your own grave the Daedalus of your self fulfilled prophecies. I will not cry when you are lost in your own maze of falsified beliefs and apologies

Quick Tips on Writing Better Characters
Here are a handful of quick tips to writing stronger characters and understanding them better as a writer.
Give your characters a title. This can help with worldbuilding and placing your protagonist into the environment. What do others call your characters? The emperor, the bastard son, the Grinch, the chosen one, the class clown, the evil witch, the popular girl, etc.
Use your settings to enhance your character. You can use the locations of your novel to mirror or contrast your character. Do they blend in or stand out? What they focus on can say a lot about them (ex. a fearsome character mishearing things on a dark street, a princess in a ballroom only focused on the exit.)
Know your protagonist's motives and goals before you start writing. What is something they need that fuels their actions throughout the novel? Money, freedom, an artifact, food? To protect their sister at all costs and survive the Hunger Games?
Now that you know their motive, make it more complex. A character's motive can be made more complex by putting them in high-stake situations that force them to make decisions. For example, Katniss wants to protect her sister, a very common motivation. However, present-day conflict makes her to do it in the most extreme way by volunteering in the Hunger Games. The plot forces her to make an extreme choice fueled by her motivation.
Your protagonist should be active. It's okay to have your story's events sometimes happen to your character (this is referred to as the character being passive, ex. a tornado sweeping them away) but your protagonist should be active a majority of the time. This means they should always be making decisions, thinking, reflecting and progressing through obstacles.

Reminder that it’s okay to not fit in. It’s okay if you’re not friends with everyone and it’s okay if you’re not liked by everyone. Learning to enjoy your own company and being secure in yourself is worth the effort
