Hello my lovely darlings!

As many of you may know, I started a new job in July. It is honestly pretty close to a dream job for me and I’m really loving it, however it is longer days/more hours than my previous gig and has affected my free time a bit. With fewer hours to write my pace has slowed a bit, but my motivation and inspiration are still Pretty Damn Big so I’m not going anywhere!

Soulmate Sunday posts will stay in their weekly schedule, but Friday posts are going to cut down to every other week. Javi’s royalty au will share post space with one shots here and there, and in spooky season we’ll be running a vampire!Ezra fic set in Boston that we cooked up during our trip!

There’s a lot of good stuff to come and @absurdthirst and I are really excited to share it with you!

Hi I’m curious I’ve tried writing 30 minutes a day but I feel burnt out doing that would writing 5 minutes a day and building writing as a muscle over time be a better option?

Hi! Firstly, I'm sorry this took so long to get to. I didn't forget about you!

Also, the whole 'write a certain amount per day' is more of a guideline than an actual rule. It works for some writers really well. It does not work for everyone.

If you are interested in trying to write every day, I would absolutely encourage you to start where you believe you will be successful. If you can only seem to commit to writing five minutes, write for five minutes! Five minutes is more than no minutes, and who knows--you might hit a stride and end up writing for ten or twenty. Maybe over time you will be able to write for longer, or maybe this little 5 minute stretch is perfect for you.

I tend to only get burnt out of writing when I'm forcing myself to write when I just can't commit the energy, time, or brain capacity. It's meant to be fun! Figure out when and for how long you have the most fun writing, and make that your schedule.

Posting Schedule

I do better when I give myself deadlines, not to put pressure on myself, but mostly to keep my own mental schedule straight (what brand of ADHD is it when you have most minutes of your life scheduled out mentally?), so I'm gonna post a rough schedule for all my planned chaptered fics.

2023 Writing/Stories Look-Forward

thanks to everyone who's read and liked and commented and tagged and sent in asks for my writing this year!

today i sat down to sketch out a vague--and definitely not set in stone plan for 2023--and I thought i'd share it with you guys, from a very high level and with the caveat that it will likely not be followed to the letter as i always inevitably bite off more than i can chew

but i lik to shoot high! lol so here's what i've got

Main goal: finishing the first draft of Nothing's Wrong with Dale and getting it all posted. this is the goal i'm most confident about and will lik, cannibalize other parts of my plan to achieve. i also have some like bonus offshoots for Dale, but those will likely get posted after the story is over and so are not part of the plan

Short Story goals: I plan to finish both Selfish (f!naga) and Free Piano: Haunted (m!spirit). I want to put out my Sci-Fi oneshot Snapped (m!alien) and the three part Seen (f!deity) - both of which i posted sneak peeks of a little while ago for that 'WIPs u didn't finish this year' ask meme.

Then it gets a little fuzzy - i'll either do two shorter 5 parts fics (both with winged monsters f&m) or one longer fic (probably Goddaughter or Quid Pro Quo - both m!demon fics), depending on what i'm feeling like for lik April-May ish. My summer fic will be about a runalong. In the fall/winter, I'll post the rest of Free Piano: Haunted and Feral (f!hellhound).

Choosing these from all my ideas was super hard, but I think i'm happy with what i picked (and all are technically subject to change).

At least, that's the plan.

As far as the short term, i plan to finish off some shorter things now (Selfish, Snapped, and Seen - idk y they all start with 'S' lol) in January. After that February and March are literally the busiest time of year for me at work and this will not be an easy busy season so I might literally post nothing (which is another reason that part of my plan is so up in the air). I will be working a minimum of 6 days a week, 55 hours a week - likely more than that so my brain will not be up for much writing during that time.

Hiatus: Last year I was able to keep posting Nothing's Wrong with Dale for some of January, but that's not going to be the case this year - putting up half of the next 4 part arc and then not finishing it until April would be unfair imo - both to you for the cliffhanger and to me because i will be able to write them far better if i write all oft he at once/in a row. So no more Dale until April, I'm afraid. The only reason I'll be able to post some of the other things at all in January is because most of them are already partially done where as next Dale is not started.

(please note that this is me, if anything, overestimating how much I'll be able to write and asking me to change my mind about say, Dale, to be more frequent etc will not work)

Do you recommend any specific routine for writing?

Hi~

There's not really a one-size-fits-all for writing routines, the best routine is gonna look different for everyone. I would suggest first figuring out when you can focus or write the best. I'm best in the morning with a cup of tea beside me, but you may prefer writing at night, or on your lunch break, etc.

Next, figure out what days of the week you'll be able to write in that time. I can wake up early before my morning classes, but if a class runs late the night before I don't get to bed in time for that, so that forms my schedule. Whatever days you have, specifically aside those days and times for writing.

Routine is all about sticking to what works best for you. It will fail a million times if you keep trying to write when it's more difficult--figure out your schedule and build writing into it.

Honkai Star Rail | Genshin Impact | Blue Lock

New Writing Schedule is here, I have been a little quiet since the last one lol. A lot has been going on in my life personally, so I haven't been able to really do things like this, or even really consistently update and write. However, my life has gotten a lot better and I am now mentally well enough to continue on. Thank you all for being so patient with me! So here is the new Writing schedule, it will include what I will work on and future projects that I am steadily tinkering with in the background!

Honkai Star Rail - Akivili x Nanook Longfic

I'm working on a long fic for Honkai Star Rail involving Akivili and Nanook. It won't be out for a while since I plan on releasing it monthly instead of "whenever I can get to it" like my other long fic. I will be in search of a beta reader for it as well, but it's far from ready for debut.

Honkai Star Rail - "Celestial Curio AU"

The Celestial Curio AU is still being worked on, and it will soon be complete. I have 4 more stories planned for the AU and I'm already working on one as I type this! Once all of the stories are complete, I'll post them on my tumblr for some of my moots to read them as it's quite the popular series I have (Or you guys can just go to my AO3 and read through what's already posted </3)

Genshin Impact - "Sharpen Claws, Sharpen Teeth"

The next chapter of Sharpen Claws will also be written and I will also take some time to continue plotting out the ending for the fic since we are close to the end now and there's not many chapters left. Seeing as this was my first long fic I've ever written this much for, I'm quite proud of it! I wouldn't abandon it lol not for anything.

Blue Lock- "System Check"

The rest of the chapters for this fic will be written and then uploaded in one big go since I have put it on the back burner for like WAY too long, and I did want to get to the other variations of this AU. I will not rush myself with it though, since this is a short story with very short chapters.

I present to you my 1st Writing Challenge!

The theme is inspired by me, clearly :) I'll list below the fortnight challenge I intend to follow for July. The idea is for me to post a scenario, either a short blurb or a longer one-shot with each prompt for two weeks straight (11—25), giving me some time to work on other things if I want to, but I may not be able to do all of them.

If you want to write any of these, I'll be honored to read them on the day of the Challenge. Tag me with #nightskychallenge and I will read and share them. The settings for (almost!) all of them will be my realm: the night. Any characters are welcome, any amount (or lack of; smut writers, gimme your all, too) plot, as well as a range: if you want to write something platonic, friendly, enemies to lovers, just enemies, long lost lovers—everything is on the table.

The prompt is given to you in bold (i.e. The Night I said 'I love you first'), and in brackets, I added a sentence prompt (i.e. ["I can't believe you said it first. Of course you would."] that you may or may not use. It's up to you.
