Sometimes I may think that it is not ink that fills my pens but my blood of my heart for I have much more ease to catch my heart's woes and desires should I form them down in ink on paper rather than when I should, quite foolishly, attempt to form those same woes and desires in sounds and words since all the words I have at the disposal on my fingers do not seem to reach my tongue.
@half-eaten-baguetteee wdy think??

I love that you write on paper. I used to, but my brain works faster than my hand so I tend to type it out or use dictation (even though my accent makes it hard to hear clearly sometimes).
You should share an image so I can live vicariously.
Thanks, well I always did since I start writing...I think the first reason was... When I write, my computer was off (and because he is old it would make too much time to start so^^) and then... during the summer I love going outside with my notebook (and my mp3 of course), and write (I don't see doing this with a computer). And the third reason is...writing with a computer make me almost forget all grammatical rules about french so....I need it for myself.
Ohhhh...Well my handwriting is absolutely awful, especially because I write very fast...So it's not gonna be very good to see^^, but this summer, I'm gonna do it ;)
THANK YOU <3

So I've been writing all of my ideas on paper for a few years now and recently I received a laptop ( a used one but it works alright ) so now i have to rewrite everything . It is tiring but also fun since i get to read all of my ideas again . Especially the ideas that i had forgotten . It's like
" Oh ! Yes it's you !"
" What was I even thinking back them ?"
" Did I really come up with this ?"
" Oh .. absolutely not "
" What ?"
Overall it's fun .

I love writing on paper and having little codes that no one could decipher without explanation, and scratching out words that I changed but still being able to see them if I want to rethink my choice, and writing obnoxiously small in between the lines because I forgot a whole sentence, and wildly imagining how many words I wrote only to be completely wrong later, and needing more paper and more pens and discovering that I have less blue pens than I thought, and feeling the paper under my fingers as I overthink every word, and just knowing that my writing exists in the physical world

The Barbie movie reminded me about how when I was little my parents were upset that I kept making my Barbie dolls kiss, so they bought me a Ken doll. The next day they found me having a funeral for poor Ken in the garden, he had died of tuberculosis. All the Barbies were in attendance and I buried him under our rose bush. The Barbies were too poor to afford a headstone (it was 1875) so I didn’t mark where the grave was and I never could find him again. He’s probably still there.

i love graffiti. "comics and jazz are the only american art forms" you forgot graffiti. did you remember graffiti? That art form birthed in Philly and NYC in the early 70s by poor Black kids. that art form that spread all over the world and influenced so many. that's used without irony in commercials when they're trying to appeal to a "young urban" customer.
did you forget graffiti? that racism broken windows theory victim? that reach the establishment takes claiming that it's exclusively violent gang members throwing up those full-color pieces and wildstyle tags in the middle of the night outsmarting fifty security cameras because the billboard was ugly anyway. as if, even if it was, it wouldn't be impressive as all hell. risking brutality and fall damage so your art can occupy the space a gentrified condo named something like "Coluumna" took away from you. proving that despite only assholes affording to live here anymore there's still a soul beneath it. an animal with dripping stripes and teeth that go clack-clack tsssss

Bad Newts: Amphibians are in Serious Trouble
My colleagues and I have just had a paper published in Nature, based on our efforts to assess almost all amphibian species for the IUCN Red Lists. The major takeaway messages:
It is a bad time to be an amphibian
Two fifths of all amphibians are threatened with extinction.
Salamanders are the most threatened group; three fifths of all salamanders are threatened with extinction!
Climate change is a major driver of amphibian declines globally
Habitat loss, especially due to agriculture, is a problem for the vast majority of amphibians
Chytrid pandemics have caused and continue to cause catastrophic declines of both salamanders and frogs
Protected areas and careful management are working as strategies! They are actively improving the outlook of some species
As many as 222 amphibian species may have gone extinct in recent times; of those, 185 are suspected extinct but not yet confirmed.
Our paper is Open Access, you can read it here!

Random writing tips that my history professor just told during class that are actually helpful
Download all your sources or print them so you can turn off your wifi
Give your phone to someone
Just. WRITE. Writing is analysing, you’ll get more ideas as you write. It doesn’t need to be perfect, for now you can just blurt out words and ideas randomly. You can fix it later.
Create a skeleton/structure before writing.
Stop before you get exhausted. It’s best to stop writing when you still have some energy and inspiration left, this will also motivate you to get started again next time.
Make a to do list
Work in bite sizes. Even if it’s not much, as long as you put some ideas on paper or do some editing.
Simple language =/= boring language, simple language = clear language.
Own your words. If they are not your words, state this clearly in the text, not just in the footnotes.
STOP BEFORE YOU GET EXHAUSTED. Listing it again because it’s easily one of the best tips a teacher has ever given me.
