hi! heres this Thing i started and it'd mean a lot if you submitted to/shared it and helped me spread the word!

Project Over the Rhône! Over the Rhône is aiming to bring writers, artists, photographers, lyricists, epitaph writers and everyone so inclined together over love for Vincent Van Gogh, his life, and his art. Anyone from anywhere is welcome to submit their work inspired by Gogh's art, life, brushes, quotes—anything!

This is currently set to be an (online) one-time zine, though who knows what unfolds with time and art!

mail your submissions over to: [email protected] ; put "submission" in the title & include a short message explaining your work's connection to Van Gogh in the body.

Feel free to provide a bio, but it is not necessary to have one.

Submit by 28th Feb! (date subject to change.)

Today, somebody asked me a question:- "What do I need to study at college or university to become a writer?" This is a screenshot of my answer. But... Really there's no wrong way, only varying degrees of right. For example, I studied business and finance at university. In hindsight I should have studied English Lit, or creative writing. But I didn't. And lt's okay - I found a different way... I wrote a lot, and within all that writing, I began to identify different ways in which I could improve myself as a thinker and more importantly, a writer. I'm still learning all the time, which is exciting, because it means I'm improving all the time. I'm honing my craft. What I'm really getting at. Is try and view your work through objective eyes. This will help you identify where you can improve. Once you've accomplished this, learn and improvement shall swiftly follow. Are you open to self published books? As a self publisher I know how incredibly difficult it is to get your book out there. I previously enjoyed THE GIRL IN THE RED COAT. Gemma has written a poetry collection, A FALLEN STAR. Crush is my favourite. It’s mad how, as a teen, your eyes casually scan then JOLT. It’s like you’ve swallowed a hook and been mercilessly yanked from the ocean; your head/heart flipping & flapping. You’re shaky, your lungs feel tight, a persistent African drumming in your head gets louder and louder, your mouth is dry and a backstory slips into place and without the poor boy saying a word you think he’s yours 🤣. I liked MY HEART because yes, a heart’s not just an organ, it’s a treasure chest, a torture device, something you depend on that lets you down by breaking. It’s poorly designed. It needs hurtproof casing. I feel guilty. A fellow writer reached out a year ago and I immediately bought THE HOUSE PLANT. It’s a quirky tale with personification at its very best. George is a pot plant bought by Brenda. He was comfortable at the garden centre engaging with fellow plants and customers. George is so endearing. I loved the journey of his rollercoaster life. Watch me as I choke on a rope of regret

My skin dissipating, fighting for a having gasp,

My lungs, flatten under the pressure of a crushed sternum

Hieroglyphs indiscernible carved into pseudo skins

because the holes in my heart would never fill
