I love how you can plan a scene in your head, and how you want the story to go, but midwrite a scene comes out nowhere as you type, and we just accept it and alter everything just for adding that random scene you never planned at all, and it makes everything so much BETTER!!! It's like our brains just say, "Here, let me surprise you with this random present that will make your story so much better. You're welcome."

I have very little concept of time right now and I'm being told that it's fucking 4 days to Valentine's Day and I'm still in the heavy thick of writing up that Miller's Girl fan fic. THICK. It's 7K words with the smut that's barely been touched on. I gather it might be 10K words once I'm done with it. So I hope. 💀💀💀💀💀

I want it to be decent. If I need until the 17th (love that number, don't ask), I will take it. I'll still upload something on V-Day. I really wanted to make Afterburn Valentines but that's a whole other 8 hours stolen from Writing Time. Argh. I guess we'll see, then.

Plus, Amazon sucks (didn't deliver my shit today), so now I have to literally run to my corner store for Gatorade.

I write the story because I want to read the story.

plenty of people seem to not understand what I mean when I say this. so let me explain.

when I read, I'm not much interested in what is going on for the first few chapters I started it because the plot idea intrigued me, then I get attached to the characters and their interactions entertain me, I want to see how they keep interacting, how they grow and overcome the problems together. how they all grow to care for each other.

when I write, I'm not much interested in the first few chapters I also end up dropping WIP because I can not get past those boring first few chapters, it's hard but when I do manage to get past it and my characters start interacting. I become attached, I don't stop writing, not for the readers but because I want to keep seeing the characters interact, I want to see them grow and overcome the hurdles. I write because if I don't then these characters I've grown attached to are going to disappear.

it's like being the sole reason a person you love is alive then turning away and watching them die. I can not do that.

My toxic trait as a writer is procrastinating on points that are technically related to my story but aren’t actually relevant at all. I spent an hour today trying to pick the perfect middle name for a character even though his middle name is never going to be mentioned.
