i was in a shit mood the day you sent that original ask and you ended up copping it, and i'm sorry about that. i did mean what i said about it not being abandoned, but i realize i've also gone so much longer between updates than i ever have for any fic on any pseud, and it's not unreasonable to assume i wasn't returning (but i am!).

He stumbled from the confines of the forest and on to the open road, very nearly barreling over the passer-by. He gave a little start as he twisted away from them just in time. Where had they come from?  It was rare that he was so surprised and rarer still that he was so careless. He’d been in such a hurry that he had not sensed the presence of another. 

“I--Oh, erm...” 

Glancing down, he took stock of his ruined attire. Muddy and blood soaked. Not great for first impressions. He managed to stammer out, “Not to worry; it’s not mine!” and immediately cringed inwardly. In retrospect, such was probably not the most comforting thing to hear coming from the mouth of a blood-soaked stranger in the middle of the woods, no matter how harmless they may otherwise appear. “That is to say--it’s a long story.”
