I’m now getting why there’s so many wlw cancellations. Part is homophobia and part is women are succeeding and working jobs that are outdoing the men that no need for them.. They’re happier single and possibly interested in other women too. Women do most of the work at home, cooking cleaning, childcare, and their male partner does the bare minimum. And now, young sons are raised to listen to these YouTubers like Andrew Tate that hate women. So it’s no wonder they fear that women will be more interested in wlw in fear that these shows are getting popular (and it’s true) don’t you think?
I will just say that it's definitely no coincidence that this -- at this point attack on -- lesbian/sapphic content, in particular with shows featuring wlw LEAD characters, is coinciding with the ramping up of harmful rhetoric against women. The book bans. The right wing tearing down of Roe v Wade. Anti-trans laws. Etc. We took one step forward a few years ago with women and LGBTQ representation in media, and now, since Orange Julius gave people permission to be the worst of humanity again and weaponize their personal religious beliefs against basic human rights... have taken two steps back. We've gone beyond just reverting back to outdated mentalities though and reached a new level of just plain HATE for women.
And women who love women are the ultimate threat to fragile men. And right now there is a stark rise (or simply unmasking, I should say) in fragile men. Dangerously so.
So, yeah. It's all connected.

I just want to take a moment to think on the fact that Claudia Donovan is the only Confident Nerd GirlTM that I have encountered so far in modern fiction, anywhere, who both a) is not framed negatively in some way for being a confident nerd girl, b) doesn't have to go through an unnecessary misogynist glow-up wherein she is stripped of all of the confident-nerd-girlness that makes her a cool person, and c) is not sexualized for being a confident nerd girl. And when she does get a glow-up at the end of Season 5, it's so she can lead the organization that she joined in Season 1. She goes from being a confident nerd girl to a confident nerd program director.
More of this. More of this, I am begging, please. I want to see more characters like Claudia Donovan in this world.

“I've become violently intolerant of the phrase ‘women's empowerment,’ because I think ‘feeling empowered’ has come to signify a woman's internal sense of surrender and acquiescence to her own oppression.”

I too have sexual desires
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aren't some combinations just perfect?
Chai aur biscuit, burger & fries , Lemme Be & you 😉
While some are debatable - pineapple on pizza, Maggi with ketchup but some combinations are just shunned upon - women and sexual desires. Even a slight mention of it can lead to a good dose of bashing and mockery.
Sexual desires are not uncommon to humans and while men are, atleast to some extent, allowed to learn and discuss about it, women are kept away from it for as long as possible.
So, I'd like to ask 'why'? Why are sexual desires and pleasures JUST limited to and centered around men? Why is it only necessary to satisfy a man's desires? What about women? Why are they not allowed to think and feel sexual desires and pleasures? What about their desires?
Various research have proven that there's a gender inequality even in the bedroom. A lot of women perform sexual acts only when their partner wants to and have lesser amount of pleasure as compared to men. It's high time we open up conversations around women and their sexual desires because women too have sexual desires. It is not just men that have sexual desires and pleasures and it's high time we make space for more than just men.
Have you discussed sexual desires? Has anyone ever told you not to discuss it? Share with us in the comments below!

Does Beauty Pageant Promote Women's Empowerment?
Women's empowerment aims to end discrimination and violence against women all over the world. This is a fundamental human right as this promotes women’s self-worth, their own capabilities, and their influence on our society to have a better and peaceful world. But what is the connection of women empowerment to the Beauty Pageant? According to the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), Women who participate in Miss Universe from different countries are represented as inspirational leaders and good role models to the world. They promote a safe space for women to share their stories and drive impact personally, professionally, and philanthropically as this is about inclusive organization that celebrates all cultures, backgrounds, and religions globally. And I believe that Beauty Pageant is a way to promote women’s empowerment.
Miss Universe empowers women to showcase their achievements, intelligence, and talents on a global stage, emphasizing empowerment, confidence, and diversity. It’s a great opportunity for women to uplift one another and be a motivation. I see Miss Universe as an opportunity for women to use their voices to promote important issues, make a difference, and bring about change. Creating positive change is the goal of the delegates and titleholders who dedicate their time to volunteer, fundraise, and advocate. They are proactive and their motive is enough to make the change happen, rather than just talk about it. Like Catriona Gray who is a global ambassador for Smile Train which is an international charity for children with cleft lip. Miss Universe Organization also has a partnership with Best Buddies, a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and God's Love We Deliver (GLWD) which provides assistance to those who are suffering from serious illnesses like HIV/AIDS and cancer for men, women, and children. Aside from that, more women in beauty pageants are willing to break this stereotyping and discrimination like Miss England finalist Melisa Raouf, who participated in a pageant and won a Bare Face Top Model award. Melisa Raouf said that competing in this pageant has made a positive impact on her life where she gained confidence and learned to appreciate herself more. Her participation has served as an inspiration to many young girls and women who have also felt empowered by her.
In conclusion, beauty pageant is a way for women to use their voices to send a message to the world and break all the stereotypes and discrimination. Beauty pageants, such as Miss Universe, play a vital role in promoting women's empowerment by providing a platform for women to showcase their achievements, intelligence, and talents. These pageants promote diversity, inclusivity, and the celebration of all cultures, backgrounds, and religions globally. The positive impact of beauty pageants on women's lives cannot be overlooked, as they inspire women to be confident, empowered, and motivated to create a better and more peaceful world for all.
