Exercises to Do and Avoid During Pregnancy
Tumblr media
Pregnancy is a unique and dynamic period in a woman's life, and exercise can be beneficial for both the mother and the baby. However, it's essential to consult with your Gynecologist before starting any exercise program during pregnancy. They can provide personalized recommendations based on your health and individual circumstances. Generally, if you were active before becoming pregnant, it is often safe to continue with some modifications.
Exercises to Consider During Pregnancy:
Walking: A low-impact and accessible exercise that can be done throughout pregnancy. Swimming: This provides buoyancy and supports the weight of the growing belly. Prenatal Yoga: Can help with flexibility, strength, and relaxation. Prenatal Pilates: Focuses on core strength and stability, which can be beneficial during pregnancy. Stationary Cycling: Provides a good cardiovascular workout with minimal impact. Low-Impact Aerobics: Ensure the class is specifically designed for pregnant women. Strength Training: Light to moderate weights with proper form can help maintain muscle tone. Kegel Exercises: Strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to support the bladder, uterus, and bowels. Pelvic Tilts: Can help strengthen the abdominal muscles and reduce back pain. Modified Planks and Push-ups: Can be done with proper form and under supervision. Consult a Gynecologist in Ghaziabad.
Exercises to Avoid During Pregnancy:
High-impact sports: Activities with a high risk of falling or abdominal injury, such as gymnastics or contact sports. Exercises lying on your back after the first trimester: This can reduce blood flow to the uterus. Exercises that involve lying flat on your stomach: This becomes uncomfortable and unsafe as the belly grows. Exercises that require jumping, hopping, or quick changes in direction: To prevent injury and strain on the joints. Exercises with a high risk of falling: Skiing, horseback riding, and certain types of cycling may pose a higher risk of falling. Hot Yoga or Hot Pilates: Exercising in excessively hot environments can be harmful during pregnancy. Exercises that involve lying on your back: After the first trimester, this position can put pressure on a major vein, reducing blood flow to the heart.
Always listen to your body and stop any exercise that causes pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath. For consultation, one can contact a Gynecologist in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. Stay well-hydrated and avoid overheating. If you experience any complications during pregnancy, consult your healthcare provider for specific guidance. Every pregnancy is different, so it's crucial to prioritize your safety and the well-being of your baby.

Defend and Protect Black Women!!
Misogynoir medical bias is KILLING Black women disproportionately. If you know even a little history of how Black women have been systematically dehumanized and objectified in the medical industrial complex -you'd know this is FAR too common and it's despicable. These medical professionals should be losing their licenses to practice medicine.
"Black women are three to four times more likely to experience complications during pregnancy and childbirth and die from these complications compared with white women. Additionally, infants born to Black women are two times more likely to be born premature (<37 weeks of gestation) compared with infants born to white women."
"In the 19th century, J. Marion Sims performed experimental surgery on enslaved Black women without their consent to develop a cure for vesicovaginal fistula. These experiments facilitated the generations of two key health care scripts about Black women in the context of reproductive health care: (1) it is acceptable to perform procedures on Black women without their consent; and (2) Black women have a high tolerance for pain."
"Although there is a plethora of research documenting Black women's experiences of racism and discrimination while navigating perinatal care, much less has been reported regarding the relationship between racism and clinical care through the lens of clinicians' caring for Black women during pregnancy and childbirth."

“Well if women tried to oppressively control men’s reproductive choices–”
I’m going to stop you right there. I’m a man. I have a uterus. On June 24, 2022, Amy Coney Barrett, who as far as I know is a woman, ruled that I, a man, do not have a constitutional right to privacy in that uterus.
This isn’t some gotcha hypothetical. Women in power do oppressively control many men’s reproductive choices. There are women who are literally oppressively regulating men’s reproductive choices right now, in the literal current abortion fight. And that’s without even getting into the many important and related reproductive rights issues besides abortion, such as the forced sterilization of men on the basis of race, class, or disability.
For fuck’s sake, stop pretending this issue is men versus women. It’s not. It’s a far right wing agenda versus everyone who values bodily autonomy of any kind.

I just think it's actually evil to suggest that because of most women's ability to become pregnant that they just shouldn't have sex if they don't ever want to be. Like that sex for pleasure is only a luxury for males and if a woman wants that she has to just accept the terms and conditions of her biology with no option to not give birth if that were to happen on accident as a result of enjoying sex. That alone is insane

At 27 weeks my twins are already so big and heavy. I can barely walk! But you’re so caring and bought me these belly support belts. Now it’s much easier to carry your children inside me. My boobs have grown a lot too! None of my bras fit anymore!

poster states: "in Gaza, women are using tent scraps and spare piece of clothing as period products. 50,000 women are pregnant. miscarriages have skyrocketed 300%. pregnant women are undergoing C-sections without anesthesia. israeli forces have killed over 25,000 Palestinians, 70% of them women and children."
there is only one organization we know of that is able to support Palestinian people who need proper period care, and that alone is not enough. i made this post a while ago to support Sudanese and Palestinian people who need this care, and later made a post about contacting several organizations to demand accessible period care in Gaza, so for folks who are able to share and support again, here they are:
it is beyond horrendous that the rampant and disportionate amount of violence enacted upon women and children in Palestine remains silent among major organizations that claim to care for the health, safety, and welfare of all.

[I.D.: screencap of a tweet from user NailsNCrowns that reads, "someone put together a Google doc of 150 gynecologist that will tie your tubes without asking if you have kids, your marital status and no matter your age. Its sorted into alphabetical order by state." (they include the link to the doc here. Doc linked at end of this post). The same user comments on their post, "if your city isn't on the list, please check back in a few hours because this list is updated hourly. (3 heart emojis) /End I.D.]
A friend of mine sent me this screen shot and a link to the Google doc. I've seen lots of posts about how to avoid pregnancy in light of roe v wade being overturned but nothing about this Google doc yet so I figured I'd make one. I know not everyone is in a position where surgery is an option, but for those who do want and can get their tubes tied, it's often difficult for them to get doctors to agree to it if they're young and unmarried or married without kids because they "might change their mind," which is misogynistic and condescending enough to deserve its own post but I digress. This is a crowd sourced list, the email to submit a doctor if you know one or are one is listed at top of the doc. Stay safe, friends.
