most of the drivers' reactions to the whole Horner situation is so disappointing tbh. what do you mean someone in the paddock, an employee gets harassed by one of the top figures in the sport and your reaction is either "it has nothing to do with me", or "no comment", "i just like cars and i want to drive", "it's noise and distraction", "i'm here to race", and "it's a good thing for the media", "it doesn't affect me", "i don't really have an interest".
why is it so hard to care about something other than your racing career? you gotta have some morals, dude. not caring about women's safety in your oh so beloved sport is some fucked up behaviour. in situations like this it really shows how fucking privileged they are and it's honestly repulsive.
this is precisely why Lewis is always the one being asked about any non-sport related topic. because he's the only one who cares and gives honest and nuanced answers. genuinely terrified of what this sport will become when he retires, cause no one will speak out on anything.
and then people wonder why we say that f1 is not a safe place for women and that misogyny is still very much a thing in the sport? men don't care, including the president of the fia and f1, the other team principals and most of the drivers as well. when the faces of the sport clearly don't give a shit about women, what kind of hope is there?
they can talk about equality and progressive values and promoting women in motorsports, when this is the reality of how they actually treat the women working in the sport. imagine how that poor woman is feeling, seeing how much the drivers care about what she's going through. utterly disrespectful, with no compassion or empathy.
f1 needs to do so much better.

Happy women's history month!
Lets remember and fight for all:
the women in Palestine who have no access to menstrual products/medication and have to use tent scraps.
trans women in general because i know yall love to celebrate queer women (which is great!) but almost never include trans women in your women's history month. They are women too. And they deserve to be celebrated and fought for.
Queer women because they're only acknowledged if they can be sexualized, mainly by men.
poc women who are still seen as lesser and boxed into stereotypes instead of being recognized as complex people just like anyone else.
Disabled and neurodivergent women because they often get overlooked and are never recognized as actual people.
Plus sized women (or any women who don't fit into the conventional beauty standard) because your stupid beauty standards mean NOTHING.
Women that come from different religions because if they can find peace and empowerment from their faith, then you can direct your war somewhere else.
Women who have been sa'd. They were NEVER at fault.
Don't just celebrate women who fit into your exclusive and harmful view of what a woman is supposed to be.

i think it's high time we bring back the time-honored tradition of cross-series crackshipping. i, for one, believe that amy brookheimer and shiv roy should hook up at a dem party convention or something.

It’s because she’s highly visible and has the money to do something about it that’s why.
I swear a lot of liberals like to tear female class by putting “white” in front as if they’re exempt from misogyny because it’s not a form of oppression that can’t be acknowledged by itself. They also act like if other white “civilian” women haven’t been victims of having ai porn of them spread out , but since so many liberals have their heads in the sand when it comes to actual feminist issues, it went under the radar on how porn is gender used as a tool by men to humiliate ALL women.
There always has to be some sort of competition when *certain* women are victims of misogyny instead of *X* instead of raising awareness of the awful issue at hand that ALL women are vulnerable to being victims of…..

My mom is making fun of me because I’m busier than usual and it’s because women’s day is coming up and all the tokenistic assholes in the development sector are ready to be a feminist for 24 hours.

Something unrelated to Tolkien for a change…
🌹each woman a rose💐
Violence against a human being is a crime.
Women before, during and after birth are human beings (and again very slowly for doctors and a few nurses and midwives as well: YOUNG. MOTHERS. ARE. HUMAN.BEINGS!)
Violence during pregnancy and during or after childbirth is a crime.
It is not ‘necessary’.
Forcing a woman to stay in a position in which she cannot bear the pain (a pain, moreover, that scientists put down as one of the most severe that a human being can endure) is an act of violence.
Shaming and belittleing a birthing woman is an act of violence.
Cutting a birthing woman open without her valid consent -that is consent given after the woman made an informed decision- is an act of violence.
Pressuring a woman to give up her right to make decisions concerning HER OWN body in potential favour of the unborn child is an act of violence.
Ignoring a woman’s ‘STOP’ is an act of violence and -if that includes your hands up her vagina or fumbling around with her breast trying to stuff a bleeding nipple into a screaming newborn’s mouth- sexual assault.
Invalidating a woman’s experience is an act of violence.
Yes yes yes, I know. Sometimes there is an emergency… yeah, you know, if you have time enough to say to the concerned nurse ‘oh, she’s not even im pain, she’s just acting the diva.’ you have enough time to say ‘dear, I know this is terrible frightening and you’re in pain, but we need to move fast now to make sure you and baby are ok. We’re taking good care of you. It’ll be over soon’- that makes the difference between a difficult birth and a traumatic one.
And besides, 1/3 of all mothers describe birth as being traumatic. Not 1/3 of all births include emergencies. So stop using that stupid argument to rectify you bad work.
You’re stressed, I get it. We have a global healthcare crisis. I am truly sorry for that. But if you’re so stressed it makes you feel that violence is needed to make the system work, then it’s probably time to step back.
