Plush Books on Amazon and Barnes & Noble have been stealing works from fanfic authors and selling them for profit.
This is from a wide range of fandoms, some being rather unknown so sharing far and wide for help and to let fellow reads and writers know this is happening.
Please take a look as there is over 500 works that have been plagiarized (along with covers being stolen art too, i believe?)
Many are already at work trying to pair the "book" with the orginal fic in hopes of finding the author and then contacting them. These works have been stolen from both AO3 and FFN so please all help is needed even if its just spreading the word.
Here are the links for amazon list and the Barnes & Nobles one:
i do apologise for the tags but tryna get this seen as much as possible by everyone
please share and if any covers are reconisged please share with the orginal artist.
Anyone who has been stolen from i suggets contacting amazon and B&N yourselves and get a claim (read the twitter thread they tell you best way) also suggest adding in the "i dont consent to this work being reposted or sold" and maybe even lock your fics/privae accs (for everyone btw)
You are not alone and the entire multi-fandom has your back!
Batman: The Animated Series - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles
The Werewolf
Anthony Romulus was a pentathlete who would stop at nothing in his pursuit to be the world’s greatest athlete. Desperate to achieve this goal, Romulus turned to the unscrupulous scientist, Achilles Milo. Milo devised a specialized performance enhancing elixir derived from hormones extracted from wild timber wolves.
The formula worked and Romulus became a celebrated Olympian. Although continued use of the drug resulted in his gradual transformation into wolf-like being.
Milo explained that Romulus was suffering from partial lycanthropy. He manipulated Romulus, stating that he could not cure partial lycanthropy but could cure total lycanthropy. He would transform Romulus into a werewolf and could then cure him, but first Romulus had to use his abilities as a werewolf to eliminate a number of Milo’s enemies.
Forced into a corner, Romulus accepted these terms. As a werewolf he ended up battling Batman. He may have succeeded in defeating the Dark Knight, but Romulus’ wits and intellect had devolved into that of a savage beast. Batman was able to outsmart him and the werewolf was struck by lightning, falling into a nearby river. Romulus’ body was never recovered and it remains unknown what truly became of him.
Actor Harry Hamlin provided the voice of Anthony Romulus (with Frank Welker providing the howls and snarls whist in werewolf form). The tragic villain appeared in the thirty-sixth episode of the first season of Batman: The Animated Series, ‘Moon of the Wolf.’
I really appreciate that this episode has shown that Clawdeen's "Creepy Crawlies Club" didn't really take off in the human world and Clawdeen was the only member, I'm so hungry for characterization pieces that show her as a misunderstood outcast who's thriving at Monster High, where her love of the paranormal and spooky is celebrated and not shunned. Really shows why she would choose to stay at Monster High- because her monster classmates are the complete opposite of her human peers.
I also liked how Twyla was the one to help Lagoona, I think that it's very important to show kids (both ND and NT) that autistic people aren't just things like sensory issues, meltdowns and problems with interpersonal issues (though they are parts of some autistic experience), but that we can bring a lot of good into someone's life and be great friends, specifically BECAUSE of our autistic traits. I think that a lot of "autism education" things for kids I've seen focuses on things like "Don't be loud", "Forgive them if they say something inappropriate", "Meltdowns are normal", which is good, but the other side of this coin is also important, and it's crucial for kids to see what "good" traits people with autism (often) have, like attentivenes, eye for detail or understanding, so that they see their classmates or family members with autism not only as "these kids who need special rules around them", but also as potential friend candidates. Building bridges, you know?
