just realized an iron man!ava au would fit so well. both initially very self focused characters, who’ve, in canon, showed an interest in tech at some point (ava with her fangirling over arq tech & the wheelchairs, tony stark and his *waves at everything*), had emotionally abusive parents/guardians and are both disabled bisexuals who are stuck with a round object that also acts as a high tech mobility aid in order to stay alive

Hell. I just realized something I did not think of when writing my Adriel is the Antichrist mini-thesis... One author, I'm not completely sure which, but someone for certain, called the Order of monks opposing the Antichrist "The Order of Christ Crucified" (mind you, it's my translation, so sources in English might use a different variation). Oder of the Cruciform Sword sounds damn similar. And it's fitting, because the OCS fight Adriel instead of waiting for the Apocalypse with their heads low, or trying to convert people.

Not to bring my knowledge of the WN comics but Beatrice's surname in my head for the longest time (pre-s2 and before finding out KTY was Finnish-Chinese) was Yōma bc a lot of people who read the comics (self-included) thought that she was probably the show's version of Sasuki Yōma.

So I've been listening to Santiano lately and it occurred to me: would you ever draw them as pirates? Liekedeeler, johnny boy, es gibt nur Wasser Wasser Wasser überall, are some good songs of santiano if you need inspiration. Imagine Wangxian singing vergiss mein nicht as a duet. Wei Wuxian would sing the Oonagh part ofc.

I've been listening to shanties since I was a child and love pirate themese a whole lot, often make an AU in any fandom i enter :D I did a mini pirate AU with the Nies being pirates and the Lans being merfolk, Nhs dropping overboard during a storm and Nmj jumping after him but not being able to find him in the waves so he went back to his ship, trying to keep it together, when a beautiful creature he thought to be a myth (mermaid Lxc) brought Nhs back to him. Since then he's been going back to the same port from every route he took just to meet him again. I've had two-picture series of this but always wanted to do a whole comic ♥

Other AU was about Xue Yang who lived in an abandoned ship wreck left on a remote island away from the mainland, and while fishing on his boat he found a curious playful creature that showed himself to him. He lured it in with smiles and silver tongue and ended up imprisoning it in his water tank on his shipwreck. Turns out this creature is XXC, a mermaid, and he's not fearing men because he's been getting better at trusting them through a kind man (Song Lan). There's also a fat reward for whoever catches the creature because the Jins learned that its blood is the key to "eternal youth". Xue Yang is currently deciding if he'd like all that money or if the imprisoned creature is too fun to have a round.

both of these are NOT PROPER pirate AUs but it's of similiar note something I've done in the past, perhaps I could just expand on it and make more of the clans oppositing pirate factions (Wens, Nies, Jiangs), some transfered to others (WN,WQ), some creatures of the sea (Lans+XXC), some regular folk (XY,SL,SMS), some being a land-based power owning the shores as far as eye can see (Jins)

There’s a very special brand of moron for a person like this.

When all your costars and the majority of young Hollywood - hell, even your own soulmates/BFFs - do a better job of promoting their work obligations including the bare minimum required - than you that really says something. About you.

She’s done more promoting her fashion show pictures than anything else in two years. Correct me if I’m wrong. But let that sink in.

This opportunist wants to social climb and live the life of a wealthy influencer except she probably didn’t know that even influencers have to hustle and promote themselves. Not every one has a rich famous husband name to piggyback off and get free followers from.

She and her “agents” (aka her mom) thinks she’s too big to do a WN comic con yet her husband did three in the past year and he’s about 18 million times more famous than her.

What is wrong with this picture? 🤔

Hi! I hope you don’t mind me asking, but let’s say WN getting “saved” ends up being a comic or just something that’s not a s3/movie/continuation from the end of s2, how come you would want to leave the fandom/delete your blog/etc? Is it because we all got our hopes up and then they would come crashing down big time if this ends up happening? I would totally get if that’s why, cause even though Avatrice will always be my favorite ship no matter what ends up happening, it would be such a slap to the face lol

That being said I agree with everything you’ve said so far, I think it would be really stupid on Simon and whoever saved it’s part if all this ends up not being a continuation of the story we fell in love with and want to see, like what would be the point of even saving it then

no here's the thing - if this whole renewal thing did turn out to be a comic book, then i won't be going anywhere. i'd be disappointed sure, but if we got to see the rest of ava and bea's story, then i'm fine.

the only scenario that i will leave for is if it comes back and alba and/or kty aren't a part of it - which tbh i think most of the fandom would bail on it if that were the case and then all of this fight would be for nothing.

i do not think comic is even a possibility at this point though, because this is way too much hype for a comic book, like way too much and simon used a little director's clapper emoji in his tweet and the dude is a writer, details matter to writers.

so yeah, so long as we get to see the rest of ava's story, and alba is the one telling it, then i'm here and i will scream about my love of wn as loudly as i possibly can

Is really impressive how some of them delusion themselves into thinking LXC would scold WWX for trying to talk or send inofensive letters because "he abandoned him", when LWJ/WN and the juniors would tear him a new one

That comic made me so angry, was just WWX hate for not being a punch bag to the asshole grape who just have his Clan still because of the "servant"

Why is this news coming from here instead of Simon or someone else?

Okay now, this actually makes sense. If you are a whistleblower you don't share the leak on your own personal pages or make a new one just to spill tea with zero followers. Not if you are serious about your info. You get people with a network to do the work for you. (sounds familiar) At the very least one with an email list.

Overall this is cautious optimism because who knows what the news could be. Some theories we have:

Comic/Graphic Novels: plausible, given the history of WN. Would be good to align the current creators with the NF series.

Novel Series: very plausible, Dean English was on the OCS Conclave with a WRITER next to him. People. 💥💥💥

Expanded Universe: very plausible, in the same panel with Dean English and the WRITER, they revealed they were working on the long-term story of Warrior Nun. That's not just a movie or a final season of WN.

Movie: plausible, while disappointing, look at ALOTO... Final 4 episodes, which works out to be a long movie. Other cancelled series have also gotten wrap up movies. So long as it's Avatrice focused we can live with this.

Podcast: unlikely, this would be a huge slap in the face of the fans and one would think the source would not be dumb enough to hype up a podcast. While great for the Doctor Who fandom, WN fans only want one thing.

Literally Nothing: very unlikely, as mentioned above the source is not willing to risk their own flesh by pissing off a very angry audience. Also, the person in charge of the Substack is not some random fan. You can see on the tweets that link to the newsletter the name Trust Insights (because tw hates Substack links so they had to reroute the click.) Netflix Repentance: plausible, but very skeptical about this one. Even with NF recent "change of heart" around their viewing metrics (as of 3rd week of June) they have shown a consistent ignorance of audience demand. But who knows, maybe they are just broke enough and need the money to pay some overdue bills.

AppleTV/Streamer Pick-Up: plausible, now this would be one impressive shake-up during the WGA strike that is still ongoing. And unprecedented because, as we all know, NF doesn't sell the rights. (But then... how can Dean talk about books... and how can Simon say Dean is the person to ask about Video Games... And why would Simon say "the people who own the rights" but not name NF in Empire Magazine... while being very clear that he (Simon) can't get the season 2 bloopers because NF owns the footage... nah, must not be important.) Complicated legal things. But doesn't mean NF couldn't lease out WN to another platform and that platform could make more content... hello HBO/NF deals. Again more delusions.

So all that to say... Something is happening. We don't know what, but you don't send a fandom into hype unless you have something really good.

Because if it's nothing - you will lose that audience

Hah, anon, one of the WN Discords I'm in last night blasted @everyone with the news and I have to tell you, I was shocked!

It definitely seems too good to be true! At first, I totally didn't read the whole thing and was like, it better not be a comic (forgetting that WN started off as a comic and so surely they would not hype up a return to it) or audio serial or whatever until someone pointed out he used the clapboard emoji at the end, so presumably it must be live action?

Through the rest of the day I've been seeing the articles and tweets from the actual crew and there's been so much back and forth, that he's been quite vague, that no deal can be made because of all the strike stuff, etc, but it feels like I already underestimated them when it came to the leadup to s2 when they were so strongly hinting at Avatrice and I was like, ah, well, it'll be a lot of subtext and then it was the whole text! So I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that there is something very strongly in the cards right now for some kind of live action return, a (possibly shortened season or a movie) to cap things off.

I will say, this is such enormous work from the fandom, to raise the kind of noise they did, especially as a f/f fandom and ESPECIALLY in this time of cancellations and overall turmoil in the media world. They should feel so vindicated and gratified.
