so ive gathered my thoughts a bit.

i watched the true ending clip that was cut from the aired episode so my thoughts have changed a bit.

but from the ending without that clip all i could think about was the cycles of death and revenge and kindness again.

how yby sent wkx to do what rcq had done for him and saying it was what he was meant to do. and zzs lonely on that mountain immortal because he owes it to wkx to live because he sacrificed himself for that and that alone. immortal gay grandpa creating another immortal gay grandpa doomed to live out the rest of his life without his soulmate. 

that and srsly these two deciding to die for the sake of the other over and over just made me think of this being a more tragic version of i sold my hair to buy you this watch i sold my chain to buy you this comb. 

and i hate to do this but cheng ling with gao xiao lian having children and him naming his daughter after gu xiang, god it made me so sad. his outburst about how he didnt care about whether it made sense to kill the prince or not, he just wanted his master, just not caring if the world burns so as long as he gets to keep whats left of his family. 

the amount that he lost not once but twice over. one family member after another, but gao xiao lian lost everything as well and them ending up together makes me think of that one post about peeta girls that the one for you is the one who will follow you home and plant a garden there with you. so despite that sad thought, i was pretty happy to see him with a gaggle of disciples surrounding him in the four seasons manor and gxl and his kids there with him as well.

that and him getting cut off about whether the six cultivation method worked was really good, it provided some decent ambiguity. 

but the ending ending makes me so happy just immortal husbands and was that kid and his father cheng ling? or cheng lings descendants? i hope so honestly. 

also xie wang’s face when he heard that qian ciao had perished. i think that was in ep 35 and not ep 36 but im still not over that. because now that i think about it rather than being some kind of mother figure (not sure where i got that impression from in the first place maybe just me seeing stuff that wasnt there or inventing things when i was watching) she was more a mirror. or more like a kindred spirit. he offered an out and wished her happiness because he saw the potential for a happy ending for her that he could not have with his father. 

but i forget the guys name, just still didnt pick her. its the only explanation for why she didnt tell him right away about the cure. because if she had, how could she have been sure he chose her for her or for the cure. same as how when xie wang got everything he ever wanted from his father after wkx “death” he went and tested him. to see if his father would pick him. and he just didn’t. idk where im going with this but i just love it and i wanna talk more about it but this is long enough and rambly.
