Finding Us Chapter 2

Paige was relieved that she and Emily had talked about the kiss she had shared with Nate. It still made Paige’s skin crawl to think about it, but she thought it really said something that Emily had owned up to it. As far as she knew, Paige hadn’t seen it, and there was no reason to confess. But she had, and maybe it was just what Paige wanted to believe, but she thought the reason she had suggested before made sense. She knew Emily had always loved Maya, and she always would. That was okay. It hadn’t even been that long, and sometimes Paige wondered if she had gotten into a relationship too fast. But then there were the times that Emily told her she had never thought she would smile again. So maybe this was exactly what she needed. For real, though, Nate needed to drop off the face of the earth. He was annoying, constantly popping up everywhere (maybe she had been right to be jealous at Jenna’s party), and she wasn’t sure why he was still hanging around. She wouldn’t say this to Emily, but she thought he cared a little much to be Maya’s cousin. Sure, she loved her cousins, but if one of them was murdered she wouldn’t go latch on to an ex. She thought maybe he could be lying about who he was, but why? He didn’t matter, though. Emily wanted to be with her. She didn’t have to worry about him. Considering how anxious she had been meeting up with Emily this morning, she felt very relaxed now. She said good bye to Emily and went to chain up her bike in front of the school. When she looked up, she was startled to see Spencer staring at her. Not in a friendly manner, either. There was some blonde woman with her whom Paige didn’t think she recognized. She looked too old to be a student. Why was Spencer staring at her? So far she hadn’t had much interaction with Emily’s friends, but she and Spencer didn’t have the best history. She knew Spencer hated her from back when they used to play field hockey together. And true, maybe she did have…… aggressive tendencies, although she thought those had gotten much better. Spencer didn’t know enough about her to be staring her down like that. She stood up, debating whether or not she should go say something to her. Spencer turned away, making the decision for her. She didn’t want to be late for homeroom, and she certainly didn’t want to be getting into fights with Emily’s friends. So, deciding to just ignore it, she headed inside.

“I have a Nate problem,” Emily told Spencer when she found her standing outside of the locker room, looking uptight as usual. “I think I may have led him on.” “Forget about Nate. Has Paige mentioned Ali to you?” “What? No.” “I was talking to Cece and-.” “Of course,” Emily replied with a sneer. “Cece.” “Em, they didn’t know each other in passing. They were in a war,” Spencer replied, and Emily gritted her teeth. She should have known Spencer wasn’t going to be supportive of this. She was too opinionated. She would literally throw away her relationships before admitting she was wrong. “This figures. Suddenly Cece swoops in, and-.” “This has nothing to do with Cece. Ali was in a feud with someone we both know has a bit of a dark side.” “What is that supposed to mean?” Emily asked, trying to keep her anger in check. “Let’s not forget this girl once tried to drown you,” Spencer replied. “I don’t think that was a love dunk.” “There were other issues going on in her life back then!” “Yeah, like being sneaky!” Spencer exclaimed. “I’m not calling her a snake, but-.” “I’m late for practice,” Emily snapped, and she brushed past her without another word. She was practically fuming, throwing her bag angrily onto the bench. She was so caught up in what Spencer had said that she didn’t even realize Paige was already there. “Em? What’s wrong?” “Oh. Paige,” she replied, her anger fading. “I’m sorry.” “What happened?” she asked, her brown eyes filled with worry. Emily suddenly wanted to cry. She knew more about Paige’s struggles than anyone, and she hated the people judging her without knowing her. That included her own friends. “Nothing. Just a fight with Spencer,” she replied. A strange look crossed Paige’s face. “I don’t think she likes me.” “Why would you say that?” Emily asked. Was it possible she had overheard? “We don’t have a good history, Em. Before I caught her staring at me like I was carrying smallpox or something.” Paige looked at her. “What was the fight about? You can tell me.” Emily looked away. Paige sighed. “I thought as much. Em, I don’t-.” “No. Fuck her,” Emily replied bitterly. “She’s been so unsupportive lately. You’d think she’d want me to be happy.” “Yes, you would,” Paige agreed. “I’m sorry. I don’t want to come between you and your friends.” “You’re not,” Emily replied, hugging her. She was becoming addicted to the feeling of Paige in her arms. “I’m not going to that dumb trunk show. Come to my house after school and we’ll get takeout.” Paige smiled, nodding. After one more kiss they headed to the pool. Emily definitely needed to work off some of her anger. After practice, they were ambushed by Hanna as they were leaving the school. “Hey! You’re coming tonight, right?” she asked. “No,” Emily replied as Paige looked away awkwardly. Hanna looked shocked. “Em! Why?” “Because Spencer’s a bitch,” she replied. “Besides, Paige and I have plans.” “But-.” “I’ll call you tomorrow, Hanna,” Emily replied. Hanna shrugged. “Well, okay. But you and Spencer need to make up.” Emily wasn’t in the mood for that. She was looking forward to her night with Paige, and she was surprised by the suggestion she made when she got back from getting their food. “You need to go to the trunk show tonight,” she told Emily. “And I need to go with you.” “What? Why?” “Because. If we stay holed up here, I’m the problem they think I am. Which is someone who wants to take you away from them.” “I don’t care what they think.” “I do,” Paige replied. “And I think you do, too.” Emily sighed. She was right. She could play angry all she wanted, but her friends were important to her. Plus, she was a little curious about Paige’s history with Ali. Before, when she had asked, Paige had gotten very defensive. Emily didn’t think that was suspicious. Ali had been terrible to almost everyone, and the story was probably embarrassing. That surely didn’t qualify her as a suspect. “Okay,” she agreed. “You’re a good sport, Paige.” “I want your friends to like me. We all know I’ve done things I’m not proud of. I want a chance to show them I’m better.”

“I think you’re great.”

“I know, and that’s sweet. But you love your friends and I couldn’t bear the thought of you losing them on my account. Come on. Let’s go.”

Emily reluctantly agreed. Although she thought it was sweet how much Paige cared. Maybe this would win over her friends. Paige could be charming when she wanted to be.

When they arrived, Spencer and Hanna were already there. Paige offered Spencer a friendly hello, as Emily muttered hers. Spencer looked shocked that she had brought Paige.

“I hope you don’t mind,” Emily told her smugly. “I brought a guest.”

Spencer didn’t answer. Cece recovered first.

“The more the merrier. Emily, I have the perfect dress for you to try on.”

She was worried about leaving Paige alone with them while she put the dress on. She hoped they would be able to be civil. Or maybe Spencer would apologize.

She was surprised when Paige showed up with something else for her to wear.

“Trying to sneak a peek?” She teased. Paige blushed.

“Hanna said for you to try this on,” she replied. Emily frowned.

“They wanted me to wear this,” she replied as she and Paige went back out front.

“Em…… you look stunning.”

“Thank you, Paige,” she replied, smiling at the way Paige’s tongue was hanging out of her mouth. The smile faded when she saw Spencer and Hanna turn around, looking guilty. She realized immediately what they were doing. Looking through Paige’s bag.

Furious, she strode over to them, snatching it away.

“Paige, we’re leaving.”

“Emily-.”

“No, don’t be so forgiving,” she replied. Tears of anger threatened to start spilling down her cheeks. “I’m changing and then we’re leaving.”

Paige followed her back to the dressing room, rightfully not wanting to be alone with them. Emily was so mad she couldn’t even think straight. More than mad, though. She was hurt. She couldn’t believe her friends were treating her new girlfriend like this, especially after what had happened with Maya. Hadn’t they insisted they just wanted her to be happy? Well, it didn’t seem like it. Spencer was letting whatever petty reason she had for not liking Paige get in the way of supporting her friend.

“Are you okay?” Paige asked meekly. Her eyes were sad.

“I’m so sorry,” Emily replies, hugging her tightly.

“I’m okay,” Paige replied bravely. Emily smiled, touching her cheek, and in that moment she realized something important. She was in love with Paige. A few months ago she never would have thought loving someone or being happy would be possible. But it was, and she was doing it.

Emily wondered when would be the right time to tell her. But for now, she just wanted to get home.

They went to Emily’s house since no one was home for the night. She wondered if Paige would be open to staying. Or……. if she would be ready for something Emily had in mind.

It was a nice early fall night, so they made tea and sat together on the porch. Emily looked at Paige, who looked deep in thought.

“I’m sorry,” she offered again.

“Don’t be. I made you go.”

“This whole thing with Cece started-.”

“It started with Alison,” Paige replied. Emily looked at her in surprise. Was she going to open up? She hadn’t been expecting anything Paige told her, tears sparkling in her eyes the whole time. Emily didn’t know why she was surprised. Alison had been a horrible person. She had tormented everyone else, so why not Paige? Emily just couldn’t bear to hear the pain in her voice. See the tears pouring down her cheeks. Paige telling her that she was completely alone would haunt her forever, she decided as she wrapped her arms around her crying girlfriend. Tears were sliding down her own cheeks. She was heartbroken, and in the moment, she didn’t just hate Ali. She was pretty sure she hated Spencer for dredging this up again. Emily didn’t know how long they sat there, wrapped in each other’s arms. It was cold, and the wind had started picking up, but neither of them made any move to go inside. Emily wanted to hold Paige in her arms forever. To make sure she never felt any kind of hurt again. How did she make that a reality? “Thank you for telling me,” she finally said. Paige sniffed, wiping her eyes. “I didn’t mean to break down like that.” “Paige. I’m glad you told me. I am so, so sorry for everything Spencer did. Hanna too, but I’m sure it was all Spencer’s idea.” “Well……. I don’t blame Spencer for not liking me.” “No, don’t excuse her. She’s holding onto some old grudge.” “That story isn’t as exciting,” Paige replied. Emily was glad to see her smile. “She was mad I…… roughed Alison up a little once in soccer practice. I guess I do have some anger problems. I like to think they’ve gotten better since……” “Since you came out?” Emily asked. She smiled. “Exactly.” “That makes sense. I remember what it was like. Keeping that secret. It made me angry, too.” “I’m just saying…… as much as I want your friends to like me, and I’m hurt by what happened, they’re coming from a place of love. They don’t trust me, and I understand. They only want to be sure you don’t get hurt.” Emily knew she was right. As annoyed as she was, and while Spencer did have a personal issue with Paige, Emily knew she was just concerned about her safety. “You’re amazing, Paige. You’re amazing and I love you.” Paige’s eyes widened in surprise. Emily was expecting her to look away, and she didn’t disappoint. “You do?” “I do. So much.” “I love you, too,” she whispered, looking up. They kissed passionately, holding one another again. Emily was scared, she realized as they kissed. She was scared that she had allowed herself to fall in love again. She knew that she couldn’t let herself lose Paige. “Do you want more tea?” Emily asked when they pulled apart. Paige smiled, and Emily was glad to see the sadness on her face was gone. “No, I’m good. I’m going to wash my face,” she replied, and Emily nodded. Paige disappeared inside, and that was when Emily noticed Jenna standing there. She jumped, starled. “Jenna?” “I need to talk to you about your friend,” she started, and Emily frowned. Jenna stared at the two mugs on the porch. “Oh. I didn’t realize you weren’t alone.” Emily stood up, alarmed by her behavior. Was she trying to warn her about Paige, too? Why was everyone being so dumb about this whole thing? She had sort of known Paige all through high school, and their little fued back during junior year was the only time Emily had seen her bad side. What did they all know that she didn’t? “Just be careful who you spend time with,” Jenna told her, and Emily stared as her hurried off to a car, where a taxi driver was loading her things into the trunk. It looked like she was leaving town. She didn’t have time to pry, though. Paige had come back onto the porch and was looking at her. The last thing Emily wanted was for Paige to think someone else was telling Emily not to trust her. Emily went back to the porch, giving one more glance at Jenna’s car. Then the two of them went inside. “What was that about?” Paige asked. “Jenna’s leaving town for a while. She was saying goodbye,” she replied. Paige nodded. “Oh.” “Paige?” “Yes?” Emily took a deep breath. But she knew she was ready for what she was about to ask. “Will you stay tonight?” she asked. Paige’s eyes widened. Emily waited with baited breath for her answer. Finally, she nodded. “Yes.”

1. How are you able to take a photo for the yearbook for a school that you never attended? 2. How are you prom queen for a school that you never attended? 3. So Wilden was a 12 year old cop when Mrs. D payed him off to rule Marion’s death as a suicide? Because lol CeCe and Wilden are the same age. 4. How was Marion alive in a flashback where Alison and Toby are teenagers but yet she was on the rooftop when Charles was 12? Oh no wait never mind it was interpretive. That flashback never happened like everything else in the past seasons. 5. How did CeCe have a roommate when she lived at Radley? 6. Why did Wren make CeCe a visitors pass if she was already a patient at Radley? She was already sneaking out of her room for “story time” with Mona so what the hell did she need the pass for? 7. How was CeCe able to go on a summer trip with the Dilaurentis family to Cape May when she’s suppose to be in Radley? But I guess since you have mental issues and you’re there for your safety and for the safety of others you’re allowed to take the fuck off out of the state and enjoy yourself🤷🏻‍♀️ 8. How did Charles transitioned into Charlotte in 3 days? You don’t just leave Radley for a couple of days then come back as a girl with hormones and a perfect body. It takes months and even years to go through that so how did that happen? Marlene doesn’t even know when that happened confirmed in via interview. 9. How did Spencer feel a familiarity with Charles in that vault? Regardless of CeCe being her sister, they barely interacted and they did not have this planned for them to be sisters back then…. so how the fuck? 10. Why would CeCe turn herself in? 11. Why would CeCe send a video of her burying Mrs. D when she loved her and Alison? Also Mary never confirmed she sent that video also Marlene confirmed in via interview that CeCe buried Mrs. D but yet Peter said that Mary killed her and buried her? Plot hole. 12. Out of all the girls, why would CeCe give 30,000 dollars to Hanna for college? Why not Alison or Spencer for that matter since she already fucking knew that Spencer was her sister since she met fucking Alex? 13. What does Sara Harvey have against Hanna since she was burning her head on the doll? 14. What was the point of Bethany Young? Why did Jessica tell her to call her “Aunt Jessie”? Why was the fact that she took Bethany fucking horseback riding never explained? Who are her parents? Why was she a big deal on this show? Or why wasn’t the drawings never explained? 15. Since CeCe always wanted to be girl all her life, why would she go back and dress as a dude in a tuxedo at the dollhouse? You can say it was Noel how many times you want to but it was never confirmed that it was him. 16. Why are the 5 girls irrelevant to the storyline? In the finale it was all about Spencer and Alex didn’t mention one thing about Alison. So Alison is basically irrelevant to Alex and Alex doesn’t give a shit about her when the SHOW IS ABOUT ALISON??? The girls are basically irrelevant to every motive every A on this show has ever had. So basically they’re making it seem like these girls became friends with the wrong people. It wasn’t Spencer’s fault that she got a good life. Alex SHOULD’VE TAKEN IT OUT ON HER MOTHER THAT SOLD HER. I will argue that the motives of every A were shit until the death. 17. Why wasn’t the night of Alison’s disappearance ever brought up again? Wasn’t that the main plot of the fucking show? But no it was interpretive it never happened. 18. Since Alex loved Aria so much, why would she try to ruin her wedding day? 19. Why the fuck would Jason see Bethany that night when he doesn’t know what she looks like? Why was CeCe wearing a yellow top that night? 20. When Jessica is about to smash Alison’s fingers in the piano, why would she come and say that Radley called her saying CeCe Drake was there pretending to be Alison when she was already a patient there? JESSICA CONFIRMED THAT SHE CONSIDERED CHARLES AS HER SON TO MARY. So it doesn’t matter if she was Mary’s daughter. Plot hole. 21. Why would CeCe date her own cousin when she can just be friends with him? That’s just disturbing. 22. How was CeCe able to work at a boutique when she’s suppose to be at Radley? Apparently she had get out of Radley free card. So they’re just going to let people in an institution work retail which can be the most stressful job…. but I guess you go for it. 23. How is CeCe running a fashion show when she’s suppose to be at Radley? 24. How was Melissa able to call CeCe and tell her to go visit Mona when she was already a patient there? 25. Wren and CeCe’s roommate both said that Alison got CeCe kicked out of college by pushing that girl down the stairs at the frat party, but yet we were told in 7x08 that Noel pushed the girl down the stairs IN A DREAM SEQUENCE but no it was confirmed by Bryan Holdman that it was true. So who the hell pushed the girl down the stairs? 26. How was CeCe partying it up with the Kahn’s on the weekends if she was suppose to be at Radley? 27. What was the point of the puzzle piece from the game board? 28. What the hell was the point of the Melissa mask? 29. What was the purpose of Ali and Bethany being pen pals? 30. What purpose did Sara Harvey serve and why make her both Red Coat and Black Widow? To torture them when she has never met them before for money? She obviously has some anger towards them so what the hell??? Where did CeCe find her? 31. Why was Mary at the blind school in 7x10? She didn’t know that Alex was AD by that time? 32. What was the significance of that Amish girl? 33. So what was Pastor Ted’s relevance? Just to bring an irrelevant character back to make him CeCe’s father? What? 34. What happened to the Cape May storyline? 35. Why would Alex take Wren’s sperm to impregnate Alison if she loved him so much? Why would you want your boyfriend to have a baby with someone else? 36. Why recruit Mona on your team if she killed CeCe? Wasn’t that your whole purpose for doing this? Finding out who killed CeCe? 37. Where was Rollins taking Alison in 7x03? 38. What was the point of all the Alison masks? 39. What’s the significance of 214? It comes up everywhere. 40. Why didn’t Mrs. D show any emotion to CeCe being arrested? She just glared at her. Again, Mrs. D considered CeCe as her daughter. 41. Who was the blond girl in the window of Alison’s bedroom in 1x01? 42. When and where did CeCe and Sara meet? 43. Why did Sara help CeCe and what were her motives? 44. Marlene confirmed in via interview that Ian killed himself, okay why? 45. What was Alison talking about in 4x24 that she saw Ian walk out of the church after pushing him off? I recall Ian looking colorless on that rope…. 46. Who was the person in 5x03 that was behind the glass with Mona while Hanna is getting her hair done? 47. Who was the person in the black cap talking to Melissa on the security footage in 5x07? 48. Why would CeCe frame her sister for murder if she loved her so much? 49. What was the point of the NAT club? What were on the videos that can bring everybody down? 50. Why would CeCe toss her fucking brother down an elevator shaft? “Oh Charlotte was angry.” Confirmed in via interview. um okay we need better answers than that marlene…. 51. Who was the blond girl at the reptile place in 4x20? With our luck they’re probably going to say it was Sara… 52. Who exactly knew that Alison was alive? Because it seemed like a lot of people knew…. 53. Who dug up Alison’s grave? Who exactly was there that night? You could say it was CeCe but it never came out of her mouth that she did it. 54. How did Maya die? Why didn’t we get any closure? Lyndon was the one who supposedly killed her but yet he had no relevance to the story… and he didn’t even confirm that he killed her. “What do you think?” Isn’t confirmation. 55. Was Melissa really the other queen of hearts? We didn’t see her. And that was never mentioned again. 56. Who gave Ali the bloody lip? “Girls fight much dirtier than boys” well??? 57. Why was Noel helping CeCe in the dollhouse? What did CeCe have on him? 58. What did Alison have on Noel? 59. What is Melissa’s significance to the story? Why did Melissa take that photo of Wilden, Alison, and CeCe on the boat at cape may? Again why was Cape May never mentioned again? 60. Why didn’t Eddie and Wren not like each other that much? “The minute that guy got here it wasn’t for the right reasons.” well what the fuck. The tension between them was never fucking explained. 61. Who did Mona, Jenna, and Sydney meet at the park in 5x05? 62. Who was Wren talking to on the phone in 4x10? 63. Was Bethany really the one who was writing to Alison or was it it CeCe? And AGAIN WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WITH BETHANY YOUNG? 64. Marlene said black widow was Endgame so is Sara Harvey endgame? You could’ve taken the easy way out and make Alex black widow but no. 65. Why did Melissa want the NAT club videos so bad? Again this was never brought up again. 66. WHAT HAPPENED TO VARJACK? 67. What happened to Cyrus? 68. Why were 3 people wearing yellow tops that night? Again, that night was never brought up again and that’s the reason this whole show started. 69. What did Maya know? That Nate was in town? Because Nate isn’t relevant to the story. And why add Maya’s niece when she had nothing to do with anything? 70. Why did Jason have a stab wound on his side? 71. Who did Aria stab with the screwdriver? 72. Marlene confirmed in via interview that Wilden was acting alone but yet we heard two voices talking? 73. Who did Spencer hear scream in 1x01? 74. Who was the person in the black hoodie that Mona gave the pills to in 3x13? 75. Who hit Toby over the head that night and planted that lighter? 76. Jenna said that Wilden saw Alison that night, how come Alison never mentioned this when she came back? Was Jenna lying? Again wee heard nothing else of the night Ali disappeared. 77. Why were Melissa and Ian in such a rush to get married? What did they need the alibi for? 78. What blond girl was Dr. Palmer talking about? Why was this never mentioned again? 79. Why are there two different versions of the kissing rock video? What was the point of showing that in 7x19? How did Alex even get that? 80. Who the fuck is Dr. Sullivan’s son? Mona was apparently threatening him in 2x25. 81. Why was Andrew being adopted brought up in the first place if it’s just going to be dropped? 82. Why were Jenna and Shana afraid of Melissa? Why was this never mentioned again? 83. What did Jenna give Shana at the park in 2x24? “You know what you have to do.” What did she have to do? 84. Who did Jason give the 50,000 dollars to? And what kind of information did they give him in order for him to give them the money? 85. Why did Mona tell Wren “that’s before I knew where your loyalties lie.”? 86. Who attacked Alison on Halloween? We were led to believe that it was Lucas but it was never confirmed. 87. Who opened the door to that creepy house in 2x13? And why was there a radley car outside of the house? 88. What was the significance of the ghost girl and how come only Ashley saw her? 89. Who was the person in the redcoat Wren was coloring in? 90. What led Ezra to believe that Mrs. D was A? 91. What happened at Ali’s house when Alison came over to Spencer’s house crying? 92. Who was that little boy at the doll shop referring to when he said “a man and woman with dark hair.”? 93. Why did Mike have 18,000 dollars in his bank account? 94. How did Alison’s ‘Jenna Thing’ bracelet get on Bethany’s body if she left it with Mona at the Lost Woods Resort? 118. What is the ‘plan’ Bethany is talking about on the tape? 119. Was the story Mona told Spencer about her seeing Alison as Vivian in Brookhaven in 2x25 true? Or did she just make it up? If it was true, who was Alison watching? 120. What was on page 5 of Alison’s autopsy report? 121. Who took the photo of Alison and the Liars in 4x13 that was given to Holbrook? 122. Who took the photograph of Alison with Spencer’s shadow in the background the night she disappeared? 123. Is Alison’s ghost story about the twins real? no-sleep 1x09rewatch ramble-essay (all content warnings for the episode apply here)

i was just like. oh i’ll watch a feel-good episode of gossip girl! s1 thanksgiving ep is great isn’t it! blairenate family feels!!! ruflyson love triangle drama!!! vdw siblings AND humphrey siblings hanging out!!! dan’s “see you later waldorf” *salutes & closes the cab door* !!!

& like. yes i DID remember serena’s whole not being sober on thanksgiving thing, and yes i DID remember blair’s ED relapse - which is heavy, but eating disorder content isn’t particularly triggering for me personally (i find it kind of cathartic, if we’re being honest) BUT . i somehow forgot. that THIS was the episode which has howard’s suicide attempt?? and now i have some of the most painful nate feels in the world.

blah blah blah, leight’s acting brought me to tears, which probably doesn’t sound like a very big deal but sort of is, for a variety of reasons (watching things doesn’t usually make me cry, it’s happened maybe a single-digit number of times before + also just my blair feels in general --> she’s a really interesting character but i don’t find her AS relatable as i do dan, or nate, or vanessa, or maybe even serena at times --> so i usually do have a bit of a disconnect re: watching her, which i really do not have for like. dan, for instance.)

i just cannot divorce that very cute outfit blair wears with her ED relapse - which brings me to the next point, which is that blair is maybe THE only character ever for whom her clothing choices and her plotlines are so interwoven in my head (lemon yellow shirt and funky little hat is her mean bridesmaids competitive game day, yellow-&-orange dress is her choose chuck over dan moment, genderqueer plaid skirt and grey shirt is her “dan loves me for me” moment, white shirt with the pink flowers is her get owned by nelly yuki moment, etc etc)... the only other time i noticed outfits is derena cotillion, but that’s just because i LOVE derena cotillion, and date matching shirts, but that’s because i am tuned into all things date and couldn’t possibly tell you what those outfits actually symbolise, with the exception of dan’s pink flannel shirt from when he’s holding milo. or any of the outfits from 2x06 because that is my episode hands down. oh hey would you look at that, i do actually form associations. but you gotta believe me on this, blair’s the one it happens most naturally for, which is very strange. i think it’s because her outfits are always Statements in a way that the other characters never do, except for jenny, who is a fashion designer, so it’s Different for her. what am i trying to say.

oh yeah another iconic outfit is serena’s golden jacket and bright blue pants to the morgue to identify what might be chuck’s corpse. she literally dressed like she was going clubbing and i respect her so much for that.

anyway. gosh. nate just - getting gaslit by his mom, getting reprimanded by his dad for telling his mom to stop being rude/petty... howard was like “don’t fight my fights for me” but nate wasn’t even doing that?? he was just asking his mom Not to be rude, and the fact that nate got told off at the end of that interaction... uh. it shows a lot about the archibald family unit in general and just. how nate is sort of treated as ... i don’t have the right word, but my brain is like “second class citizen”... which is absolutely NOT the right concept for nate but like. he is treated like he is Less a part of the family than his parents are....... RIGHT until one of them (or both of them!) fuck up in a big way and it’s down to nate to fix their mess. i haven’t read “adult children of emotionally immature parents” but from whatever i’ve heard about it, i think nate could do with reading it. or not. maybe it’d just make him sadder.

and fuck - nate’s whole talk with his dad and his dad telling nate that he doesn’t know how he can go on, etc etc... idk what to say or where to draw the line but i have really complicated howard & nate feelings. i really truly think anne was the worse parent (not like it’s a competition of course) and i sometimes seriously wonder if maybe howard archibald had a more supportive life partner, maybe he wouldn’t have ended up being ~like that~ to nate (doesn’t justify anything of course). anyway nate’s sitting by the hospital bed and his dad is denying his suicide attempt at first and nate’s just like, no, stop. this is also making me think now of nate sitting by serena’s hospital bed after tripp, and nate possibly sitting by blair’s hospital bed some point pre-series (eating disorders are serious and i really do think, esp with eleanor being eleanor, that it must’ve gotten pretty bad for blair before she got help - which. sorry. i know, it’s sad but i’m just putting together pre-existing implications.) all i’m saying is some point in the future i wouldn’t be surprised if nate’s just. uncomfortable in hospitals and unable to piece together why. oh yikes i just remembered blair’s miscarriage. at which point do hospitals become overly suffocating for natie, remind him of his own helplessness, etc... because i really think they would. anyway.

anne archibald chills me because she is such an accurate representation of a very specific kind of mother and. i hate it for nate obviously but i struggle to remember a time i’ve seen a tv mom who i can 100% relate to so hard. as in. fuck. worded that wrong. whose SON i can relate to so hard. ouch. this may be a moot point because i don’t watch much tv, but honestly anne & nate is just. a Lot. in a way that is significant to Me, specifically. this is part of my pet peeve (not enough to fight with anybody don’t worry) when people make edits about mothers & daughters, as if what was happening between nate & anne, somehow didn’t have the same complications - i honestly think there’s some solid eleanor & blair/ anne & nate parallels to be drawn. and we’ve been over this somewhere else, but lily & serena / rufus & dan / rufus & jenny definitely have a lot of the same specific issues (parent projecting on child, etc.) again - everyone engages w the show differently, im ready to admit that like... maybe 65% of my problems with the ‘mothers & daughters’ reading probably stem from gender dysphoria, lol. but whatever.

i have feelings about dan & alison, too... i really do think dan was closer to his mom than to his dad for majority of his childhood, and this ep really cements it. anyway. i don’t have any more words and i’m tired. and i might just watch derena cotillion episode because . derena cotillion episode my beloved...

wait wait before i forget. venn diagram of humphrey family & van der bilt family & playing american football. i know this has come up before but like. here we go i;m thinking about it again. both dan and nate have been competitively thrown in the grass by a family member in the name of sports. no wonder nate chose dan over chuck in 2x06 (i would put a tone indicator but even i can’t tell if this is /gen or /j)

As someone who is currently working on a nate-centric fic I lowkey think it is impossible to write him interacting with anyone without some romantic and/or sexual tension bc he is just Like That. (except maybe Jenny. Jenny and Nate being best buds is the exception that proves the rule)

but honestly, very seriously, the alison-and-nate dynamic, the way i see it, parallels the rufus-and-vanessa dynamic so much. alison and rufus are very ‘see young adults as people, and not as kids’ in the sense that they actually care what people have to say, don’t dismiss people younger than them because they’re young, etc etc, and i feel like for nate specifically it’s an eye-opening moment of ‘oh, someone older than me can see me as their equal’? with vanessa it’s a bit different because rufus is her best friend’s dad but also.. rufus is her best friend? still. there is a parallel in my head.

this fic im writing is strange because dan’s going thru hell and nate is trying to help and alison is just like. anything that makes dan feel better is something i wholly approve of - and i think that’s adding to the vibe a lot, where she’s like ‘you made my son smile! thank you” or whatever...

I’M LAUGHING BC I FOUND THIS POST AND ALKJSLKAJDS CEDRIC IS THE SAME WAY cedric can’t see shit without his glasses but he refuses to wear them out in public and only wears contacts and sometimes he really has to choose between being blind and a danger to society or wearing his glasses which really isn’t a big deal because he looks good in them but it’s the principle, it goes against his standards for his appearance. anyway, i thought that was really funny and idk maybe huan and cedric can just be blind asses together alsjdlsa that would honestly be like, so lighthearted in comparison to the dark shit huan has gone through though, and even cedric has had his own rough upbringing and tumultuous relationship with his family.

i’m not entirely sure how these two would cross paths, but if they did, it’d be interesting to see how cedric handles huan’s trauma and whether or not cedric would see bits of himself in huan or like, resonate with some of what huan has been through like the idea of not being able to really be a child growing up, not understanding what trauma is at an early age, ect. granted, what cedric went through is not on the same level as what huan went through, but it’s not like cedric’s upbringing was super smooth sailing either so ??? i dunno, it’s something to think about.

Emile & Mineko

not that mineko is looking for sympathy or anything, but i feel like emile would have a soft spot for her. i feel like emile generally has a soft spot for artists thrown into the music industry because he’s come to learn how cutthroat it really is, and how soul-sucking the creation of music has become when profits takeover genuine creativity. emile doesn’t make the same music mineko does since he focuses mostly on classical music, but he understands how important of an outlet playing, creating, and performing music can be, so if mineko and emile were to ever cross paths ( he honestly would have no idea who she was because he lives under a rock, so it’s possible she could indulge in that ignorance ), if he ever caught whiff of that dark awareness that slips out from mineko now and then due to her unprocessed trauma, i feel like he’d try to brighten her day now and then bc he has this protective older brother energy in him ( and i think mineko is 19? while emile is 24, so there’d be an age gap if that was the case ).

Alison & Kuroha

first of all, i love kuroha. secondly, i see a lot of similarities between alison and kuroha which i think would make for some really interesting interactions, especially in alison’s spy verse which i would definitely be open to adjusting to make it work for kuroha as well. i bring up the spy verse specifically because i think kuroha and spy alison view romantic relationships in a very similar way, and also carry themselves in that kind of “two-faced” manner where upon first glance, they’re like pretty and feminine which makes you put your guard down and makes you vulnerable to when they’re actually about to kill you. like, they have moments where they can be soft, like their shared appreciation of flowers, but they definitely aren’t people you should underestimate.

just off the top of my head, i think a possible dynamic ( if you were interested in this verse at all ) would be that kuroha was associated with the agency alison worked for as like, one of the doctors who would treated wounded agents. because you know, you cant be sending agents to just any doctor, especially when the agency is doing some shady shit on the side. anyway, if we go down that route, kuroha would see alison a lot for check ups, physicals, treatment, ect, and, the girls could talk about their lives like friends tbh. another route would be if kuroha did autopsies for the agency, like if it came down to a situation of like “so this really important figure we’ve been tracking died suddenly which seems like foul play, can you confirm?”, it’s possible alison gets assigned to the case especially if it was suppose to be her mission before to take down that person but alas someone beat her to it.

this is definitely like, me digging deep into the spy verse lore and this probably makes no sense to you, but if this interests you at all, you’re definitely welcome to hit me up!!! even if you don’t wanna go down the spy verse route, i think canon alison and kuroha or even werewolf alison and kuroha could get along. cue alison trying to get sleeping pills for jaesung bc his ass is about to lose his shit if she doesn’t 🙄 also i read jaehwa’s bio and i love her too, spy verse is definitely open to her too if you wanna do that

Leah & Jaehwa

leah’s so baby in comparison to jaehwa. i feel like it’d be a dynamic that would be like, jaehwa showing leah how to stay safe if she’s walking home alone in the dark, if she’s meeting guys for the first time for dates — self defense type of stuff. like leah would definitely look up to jaehwa if they ever met, and it might even get to a point were leah just thinks jaehwa’s so badass that she might get intimidated to approach alkjdalsjdlaALKJSDLKSAJ i don’t know off the bat how these two could meet since leah’s just suffering in college trying her best and crying herself to sleep because she’s stressed out, but like, she’d really admire jaehwa tbh

OH SO THIS IS WHO JAESUNG’S HEART IS FROM hm hm hm my first thought is that, since haruka is also a werewolf, it’d make sense to have her meet nate in his werewolf verse as well! nate as a werewolf grew up packless essentially, being outcasted at an early age, so he has very much been living that rouge life and has that reputation of being a rogue living on his own. he tends to keep to himself a lot, but he likes city life, so it’d be interesting if it was a case of haruka and nate meeting in tokyo and kind of finding unexpected common ground. he’s kind of an asshole though so i’m not sure how much haruka would like him in the first place though alkjdkas—

Alison & Yeong-Hui

art buddies!!!! alison and yeong-hui both share an interest in art, and it’d be a lot of fun for ailson to share and bounce ideas with yeong-hui, especially since alison dabbles in a lot of different mediums as well despite favoring watercolors. yeong-hui being a model seems like a really nice compliment to alison’s career path in her canon verse as a fashion designer, and i’m always open to playing with alison’s timeline a bit to set it during a time where she’s still trying to find herself rather than main verse where she’s a little more established. it makes things a little more interesting, especially since yeong-hui is so carefree. who knows, maybe interacting with yeong-hui leads to alison taking on a path that’s canon divergent, which in it of itself is very neat !!!! i like this pairing a lot, good things could come out of this tbh

Grace & Garis

including this one even though you also generated it already because i actually think this dynamic has a lot of potential even beyond what you suggested ( which, by the way, for not knowing much about grace, works really well and i really dig that idea! ) i think there’s a lot to garis that would make grace look up to xem and grow to like xem. i think the fact garis is very intelligent would be what would draw grace in since she enjoys learning and having really in-depth conversations about subject matters that go beyond what’s taught in high school and the typical teenager drama. the more garis and grace spend time together, i can definitely see grace being exposed to garis’ philosophies and views, which would plant certain political ideas in her mind that’d challenge or reaffirm what she’s started to pick up herself going about her own day-to-day life and observing those around her. it’s almost like a mentor/mentee kind of dynamic in a way, but much less formal, and i feel like garis could really contribute to grace’s development into young adulthood !! teach ‘em young, right? though, considering how garis might have extreme views on certain matters, it may not always be a good thing that grace is exposed to such beliefs, but we won’t know until we put them together

Cedric & Alex

similar to your opinion about nate and alex, i think cedric and alex also lack a real good foundation for an interaction that goes beyond small talk and brief encounters. cedric isn’t as bad as nate and has more of a good head on his shoulders than nate, so he’s more approachable and sociable, but cedric isn’t entirely pleasant to hang out with either unless you stick around long enough to realize he’s kind of a nerd underneath the snooty exterior he plays up. that might be the way to go if alex and cedric were to form any sort of meaningful relationship, like alex happening upon a moment of vulnerability ( e.g. cedric being forced to wear glasses bc reasons, which he gets embarrassed about even though there’s nothing to really be embarrassed about; or cedric being a klutz in the kitchen despite trying really hard to look impressive ) and so cedric’s act shatters and she finds out yeah, cedric’s kind of a loser. but i dunno, they don’t share a lot in common so ???? not sure about this one chief

hm hm hm! emile’s been thinking about going back to school, so maybe alex and him could be study buddies in a way. they don’t have to take the same classes, but they could happen to be in the same study space often, so they get used to seeing each other around? it’d be an interesting pairing since if we go down this route, emile would very much gravitate toward sa subject like history while alex is very much in her own stem world, so the contrast could make for some interesting conversation. emile is a good boi tbh, so if alex and him get close, he’d be very nice to her. he’s kind of awkward sometimes, but he means well, and silence doesn’t bother him, so even if they don’t very often while studying together, he wouldn’t mind the silence company. could be a sweet dynamic tbh! pretty chill.

Nate & Yeong-Hui

nate’s not really bougie, but i guess you could say he’s bougie adjacent in the sense that he’s always out doing something, like always at a club, a bar, some sort of social gathering, and that makes it seem like he’s really living life even though for the most part, he’s a big homebody. it’s possible that yeong-hui and nate cross paths at some sort of social setting, and since nate is also pretty laid-back and carefree, oftentimes meeting a lot of people but rarely making a lot of meaningful relationships, it’s possible that yeong-hui and nate are each other’s distant acquaintance that they see a lot due to being in the same social circle, and they do a lot of things together without that expectation that they have to catch up again some time in the future like friends do. maybe they do see each other again, maybe they don’t, who knows! i also feel like nate and yeong-hui might butt heads though, just on the sole basis that nate is a dick alksjdlksalda

ohhh !!!! right away, i can see that they come from a very similar background. cedric is located in france, grew up very wealthy, and was also taken care of by mostly nannies rather than his parents. while cedric kind of has downsized since moving out from his parents, he still has a lot of wealth to his name, so needless to say, he’s living very comfortably. he carries himself in a way that reflects that, acting like he’s better than most people and being all snooty, though it’s really all an act so it’s likely that he could still get on eric’s good side one way or another once eric gets past cedric’s annoying exterior alkjsdlksa — eric being of vampire lineage is also very interesting, and it would certainly add a new layer to this dynamic if it kicks off!

Alison & Yuki

oh ,,,, oh poor yuki 😞 this dynamic too, right away i can see that these two share a lot in common ( unfortunately ). alison and yuki both have undergone a lot of misfortune, and while i don’t expect them to talk about their experiences openly with each other right away unless it was in a setting where that was expected ( like group therapy or the like ), yuki seems like a gentle soul, and alison tends to gravitate towards people like that a lot since she also is a very gentle soul. yuki and alison also share a fear of men ( yuki more specifically older men ), and in a way, maybe having each other helps them heal and feel more comfortable in certain situations. overall, i think this dynamic has a lot of potential, though it would all come down to how yuki takes to alison! i imagine it’s hard to trust people after what she’s been through after all.

Aito & Momo

A BUNBUN? A BUNBUN SHAPE SHIFTER FOR AITO?? absolutely, holy shit — you have no idea how cool aito would think momo is. he’s one of my muses that loves supernatural things, so meeting muses who aren’t 100% human makes for really fun interactions with him. he’s a really nice and relaxed guy, so she has no reason to fear him either if people scare her!! this would be super cute, especially if aito and momo had a dynamic where aito took care of her or gave her a lot of guidance in fitting in or something like that. just some ideas!!! really love this one too wow the generator is giving me some good shit

Leah & Jazz

i think a sibling dynamic would make a lot of sense with jazz and leah tbh. leah was an only child growing up, so she didn’t have any siblings, and jazz was super close to yuki, who was like a little sister to her. maybe it’d be a case of jazz filling a void, or maybe it’s a case of jazz naturally being protective, but leah would certainly look up to jazz and admire her if jazz were to take on a protective sibling role. she’d even get really invested in jazz’s mission to find kiki’s killers and yuki. it’s like a really elaborate story you’d see in the movies, except it’s not a movie for jazz. leah’s lived a really boring and sheltered life, she’d find it all super interested!

Nate & Aki

not a bad pairing tbh! aki in his current life is a complete 180 from nate’s current life, but seeing as how cedric and nate are close friends, nate isn’t inexperienced in hanging out with those who have money, power, and status. what stands out to m as interesting is aki’s high school years where he was more aggressive and volatile, which resembles to how nate can be too when he’s not in a depressive episode. i think it’d be interesting if it was a case of nate reminding aki of his former days before becoming a ceo, a bit of nostalgia maybe? especially because aki is so much older than nate; it could be fun for them to bond over chaos and nate being able to break the ceo out of his professional role during his free time.

these two seem like they would be such sweethearts together :pleading: andrei seems like sucha soft boy, and emile is my soft boy, so it makes sense for the soft boys to befriend each other right? emile tends to be more on the reserved and timid side of things, so maybe that might make him more approachable for andrei since he’s a bit wary of humans. there’s also emile’s werewolf verse, which basically has emile as a beta werewolf but he’s very much still sweet emile! so that’s another way they can befriend each other too, like werewolf emile helping andrei get used to living amongst the humans and such. andrei and emile share the same sense of style too uwu

Nate & Nanase

this pairing seems interesting because nanase and nate actually share some mannerisms, so they aren’t drastically different. nate creates the type of music nanase seems to hate though ( re: techno, edm ) so that might be a point of contention. it’s not that nate hates classical music though; it’s just not where his inspiration really comes from. but i feel like if these two were to meet in a school setting, either high school or university, they’d get into a lot of trouble together lmaooo like nate would probably be an instigator tbh but he might be the type of instigator to get nanase into trouble while nate saves his own ass. depends though! they could either both go down, or one throws the other under the bus. something to think about and consider; the fact they both carry themselves in similar ways makes me feel as though they’d get along much better compared to nate with most muses tbh

Aito & Yue

oh i hate it when a married couple gets separated because of death, especially when they have a child together :cri: that’s so sad. jun is such a cute babey tho ,,,, i think there’s a chance for aito and yue to get along tbh. i think aito would be interested in yue’s writing, and while aito is typically very memey and doesn’t take life too seriously, i think he might put up a more “professional” or like, a more formal type persona whenever interacting with yue just because that’s how he is. of course, that all comes tumbling down when the baby shows up tho!!!! i also think the fact aito and yue both learned english through american media would bring them closer, or at the very least, it’d be a conversation starter. i also think there’s potential in both of them trying to quit smoking together. aito smokes mostly when he’s stressed, so it’s like a recreational activity, but in any case, he does want to quit. so they could form some sort of bond over that as well, like a support system.

Leah & Ruisi

i kind of feel like ruisi is the type of person leah would have a really soft spot for. he’s like the person who gets bullied or neglected, and i think with leah being a really empathetic person, would wanna be his friend or at the very least, pay attention to him and be that person to say hi to him and ask about his day. she’s a sweetie like that, and honestly either angel leah or human leah would wanna interact with him :) i bring up angel leah because of the whole demon thing, but demons don’t always tie in with angels so it really comes down to your lore and what kind of demon you had in mind for ruisi’s demon and his pact! but yeah, leah would treat ruisi really nicely. i dunno if she’d be a student mage like he would be, but we could always plot something where leah attends a neighboring academy or something !! i love me some good student plots tbh

Cedric & Yuuto

rip yuuto and being stuck in the friendzoNE ALKSJDLKAS i think that’s where cedric and yuuto diverge because cedric very much has that player energy so he definitely had a lot of people after him both while he was in school and after the fact. cedric dresses well also but comes from a family of money, so he dresses bougie because he actually is bougie smh. i think it’d be interesting for these two to cross paths since cedric, i guess you could say, has the relationship experience yuuto wishes he had, so it’d be a funny conversation for them to have if they ever discussed why it’s so hard for yuuto to get a date. cedric’s kind of an asshole ( he did treat alison poorly, after all ), so yuuto has drank more respect women juice than cedric hands down, but cedric knows better than nate ( who really didn’t get that dosage of respect women juice until like, his mid 20s ), so yuuto talking with cedric about relationships would be more of a mature, intelligent, and tasteful ( like in a classy way, but a delicious way ) conversation than if yuuto were to talk to nate tbh

beatrice being quiet and more soft-spoken would work really nicely with emile’s own demeanor since he also tends to be more introverted! i think he’d take an interest in her writing and would support her effort in trying to become an author. he’s rather directionless in life in his main verse despite having a stable job since he’s not really the happiest he could be, so maybe putting his attention in something new ( proofreading drafts ? ) would make things more interesting for him! it’s also be funny watching emile learn about the esports world because he’s such an old soul, he’s like a boomer sometimes but minus the crankiness alksjdlksa

oooh a non-shield breaker muse! ngl i know nothing about the persona franchise, so i had to do a dive into the wiki for context ( i didn’t read the whole thing, but enough to understand his personality at leasts! ), and i feel like minato is the type of character that always piques alison’s interest, especially during her high school years. the silent type seems to draw out her curiosity, and in a high school setting, she’s quite reserved herself so her curiosity would probably manifest through her being attentive to minato whenever he was in the room or if she overheard conversations mentioning his name or involving him. if they finally ever had an encounter, she’s a big sweetheart even if she’s quiet herself, so there would be an effort to be friends. if he’s nice to her in return, she’ll come back for more interactions, so that’s a possibility for them to meet and form a relationship! in alison’s canon verse, it’s a little trickier to think of an idea, and if i understand correct, you portray minato during a very specific time of his life, but in any case, if his personality is still pretty consistent with what i read in the wiki, it’s possible for him and ali to get along!

Aito & Mash

another instance in which i had to read a wiki aljkdlkas but this pairing seems interesting since there’s like, an element of genetic engineering in mash’s story that, while unfortunate due to the short life span it causes, also aligns well with aito’s general interest in science-esque things like that ( even if the world mash comes from seems to have elements of magic in it as well, which, i guess is ironic when paired with science lmao ) but still, mash and aito could have a lot of intelligent conversations together that i think she might enjoy, and he could always teach her things too. aito as a whole is a very free spirited and fun character, so maybe he can make the time mash has left fun for her :’)

Leah & Gavin

since leah already seems to be worming her way into the shield breaker’s gaming house, it’d be really easy for her to meet gavin lmao it’s likely that if jordan is busy, she’ll bounce from member to member until she finds someone doing something interesting, and considering how gavin loves to cook, she’d be really keen to watch him or even help since she’s not too bad of a cook herself if you give her a recipe! maybe he can give her some pointers on how to improve her cooking or give her easy recipes to try out whenever she’s not in the gaming house that she can make in her dorm!!

aito is a pretty laid-back and sociable guy, so it’d be really easy for him to get along with jasper if they were to engage in any sort of conversation with each other !! optimism and passion are some traits they both share, so it probably would just come down to finding common ground between them that they could bond over. aito has the potential to travel a lot because of work, so it wouldn’t be impossible for him to find his way to the moonlight butler cafe for ~the experience~ because who is he to pass up the chance to be served his usual coffee in a fancy ass cafe? there’s probably a chance aito and jasper could bond over the fact they can’t converse with girls for more than five minutes without something happening, because aito is just ... he’s really not made for dating, that’s for sure.

this pairing really has me like :thonk: because i feel like there’s a lot of shared ground in how tatsuya carries himself as a person, his business, and his interests and alison’s complicated situation in her post high school and early main verse settings. it’s possible tatsuya and alison cross paths at club yume since alison’s sex work experience encompasses a few things, so it wouldn’t be implausible for her to be at club yume just as part of a job where she’s keeping someone company for the night, and very leah-esque, she somehow has a run in with the boss. if ali and tatsu click, i feel like it’d be interesting if it was a matter of like, tatsuya sharing pointers on how to adapt to different social situations, which would benefit her since it’d help her with escorting. but also, ali makes good company in general so maybe tatsu ends up liking her company and just takes her along to places. just some ideas !!!

Emile & Satoru

oh my god lmaoooo sacchan is so chaotic and emile is so mellow; them interacting really would be emile just putting up with sacchan’s utter bullshit every minute of everyday but it wouldn’t really be like a bad thing for emile?? it’d be a lot, like it’d probably be like overwhelming at first, but satoru might actually end up helping emile live a little more and revive emile’s dying soul because lord knows office work is a drag. it might honestly be really refreshing for emile to spend time with someone like sacchan, though they probably wouldn’t click as well as leah and sacchan since emile would probably react to sacchan’s jokes like a boomer alsjdlsadlalskd

leah was ranked first, alison was ranked second, and since this question was asked for a third time ( which i dont mind at all!! ) i’ll choose my third favorite! that’ll be aito, which is a muse that’s new to this blog but isn’t new to me. i played him mostly when i was in high school, and a lot of his inspiration came from my high school friends’ antics. i went to a school that focused a lot of the sciences, and aito gave me an outlet to write about all the science i was learning you could say. he’s a really silly character, and while he isn’t really a muse that’s easy to ship with others romantically, i dont mind at all since i have a ton of fun just writing him as is, goofing around with other muses!

maybe yall can see a pattern in how i’m answering these questions lmao. with cedric and nate being muses that dont get a lot of attention, it makes me not as fond of them since they’re not as fun to play as my other muses. along with nate, cedric is another muse i’ve considered putting on the back burner since he doesn’t garner as much attention as my girls and emile, and cedric also is a little unapproachable due to his toxic past with alison. still, instead of scrapping him, i’ve chosen to just be patient!! sometimes plot ideas hit me or my partners unexpectedly, and i’d rather not cut off all possibilities for great ideas by taking cedric off the blog.

12) What is something everyone should know about your muses before interacting?

this is a great question!! i think one of the biggest things i’d like people to know is that most of my muses have some sort of ( for a lack of a better term ) baggage that should not be overlooked just for the sake of a ship. i think it’s incredibly unrealistic to underplay and pretend that my muses don’t have trauma, mental illnesses, or the makings for a criminal record ( re: nate and potentially cedric ) just because you want a fluffy ship. a lot of ships with my “problematic” characters that are fluffy have taken a lot of ooc communication and plotting, and while it’s okay if it takes us a long time for these heavier topics to make an appearance in a plot or dynamic, i dont feel comfortable just ignoring my muse’s canons unless discussed in private. it’s also okay with me if the mun prefers to not have our muses have “the talk” or any sort about heavier topics so long as the mun is aware that not all my muses are good people/uwu muses !!! i just want people to actually read my muse’s bios yo lmao

this post is going to be long, but i’d appreciate it if you could at least give it a skim if you’re interested in interacting with me, particularly if you want to interact with nate and cedric but don’t know how to or if you want to develop meaningful relationships with my muses ( re: sexually intimate relationships )

edit: fixed my wording on the last statement since i mostly talk about sexual relationships in the last part of my post rather than general meaningful relationships.

CEDRIC AND NATE

tl;dr: nate and cedric, while you can’t overlook what they’ve done to alison, are still muses with their own personalities beyond their actions, and i want to play with that more instead of making them out to be purely antagonistic because it’s more complicated than that. if you didn’t know about what they did to alison, nate and cedric have the potential to be approachable, and i want to emphasize their personal traits that make them just normal guys to stop making them out to be the villains because you really wouldn’t have known what they had done in high school if you met them after the fact.

i think about what to do about nate and cedric a lot. sometimes i feel like i should take them off the blog because they don’t garner enough interest and also because i don’t have very much muse for them. after some thought, i realize that why i might not have much muse for them is because i’ve reduced them down to a few basic personality traits, and that’s really boring for me. i forget that they’re so much more complex, and me simply reducing nate down to being overly aggressive, crass, rude, and a fuckboy and cedric down to being stuck up and bratty and also a fuckboy really limits what i can do with them.

these traits are indeed at the core of who nate and cedric are, but i really feel like i’ve made these traits all of who they are when there’s so much more to them, and i think that makes them kind of unapproachable and flat as muses. don’t get me wrong, i’m not trying to overlook the fact that they’re assholes who did terrible things to both alison and emile, like in no shape or form do i condone their actions. but i feel like sometimes i forget that nate and cedric aren’t such caricatures of their bad traits and also aren’t as sexual as i make them out to be in my head and sometimes in conversation with other muns?

like i make nate out to be someone who will pick a fight all the time, will curse you out all the time, will drink all the time —yeah he does all these things, but in a natural setting where he’s not provoked, nate actually does not give a fuck? like if he doesn’t think you’re worth fighting, isn’t agitated, or doesn’t have the energy ( which is often because he is quite low energy most of the time ) he will literally shrug, say “okay” in a monotone voice and walk away. he is low maintenance in every sense of the word. he just wants to eat like shit, have an inconsistent sleep cycle, and make music. he doesn’t have the energy for other people usually, and when he does, like when he’s clubbing, partying, dj-ing, socializing and sleeping around, it’s charisma and energy he pulls out of his ass to put on a persona to make people like him so he can forget about his life problems. sometimes it’s fueled by alcohol and party drugs. it’s all temporary though before he goes back to his usual lazy ways.

with cedric, yes he’s snarky, he’s snobby, he thinks he’s better than you, he’s rich, and already kind of unrelatable and unapproachable, but he’s actually a big closeted nerd. he reads, he wears glasses ( but refuses to let people know that so you’ll most likely only see him in contact ), he can cook but he fucks up all the time and always cuts himself in the kitchen, he loves historical sites and architecture of other nations, and yeah he’s a bartender but he actually drinks a lot of coffee over alcohol. he hates cats but loves dogs, he has a business degree and wants to start a small business soon.

all in all, i wanted to write this all out for myself and also for you all to understand what my thought process is with them and how cedric and nate really are since these aren’t things you’d get from the bio. you’d really need to interact with them or plot with me to learn these things.

SMUT ON THIS BLOG

tl;dr: smut is allowed, but i’d prefer to not write smut with cedric and nate unless i really dig a ship or think it adds to a plot. i’m not a fan of plotless smut with them since it’s not interesting for me. it’s more interesting for me to write smut with alison or emile because their views on sex is so much more complicated, and a smut thread with them has more potential to lead to something more. plotless smut is even interesting for alison and emile because it lets me explore the nuances of their sexuality whereas i don’t really get to do that with cedric and nate since they’re already secure with their sexualities. also, i want more plots that explore alison’s sexuality in high school and her time as a sex worker since that’s pivotal to her character, but i also want to respect people’s comfort.

yes. yes, this is something i want to do on this blog, but with one big caveat. i’ve thought about this a lot too, and it kind of goes along with how i’ve reduced nate and cedric to be real big fuckboys. i mean, yes, they are, but also, i don’t want every interaction with them to be smut. i don’t want every interaction with them to be flirty, sexually charged, sensual. in fact, i don’t want to smut with them. that isn’t to say that sexual interactions can’t happen -- our muses can hook up, but i’d prefer not to write it out with cedric and nate unless it adds to the plot or unless i’m just really feeling the ship because it’s not really what i’m interested in on this blog.

what i am interested in are the sexual relationships of alison and emile. alison and emile have very distinct, very complex views about sex, and to be sexually active and intimate with another muse isn’t just like, a one time thing with no consequences like how it might be with cedric or nate ( e.g. one night stands, a smut thread with no plot, just pure horny ) -- sex is taboo for them, and it takes so much vulnerability and trust for them to be intimate, especially emile when he’s with a male partner. alison has her own unaddressed trauma surrounding sex, especially with men, and she can’t have sex normally and right away when just meeting someone because her body will not let her and it will hurt. it takes effort to have emile and alison be willing to be intimate with another muse, and i want people to make that effort and to really develop a relationship with them.

additionally, i want to explore alison’s sexuality during her time in high school and post high school when she was being prostituted. this was a period of time where alison’s understanding of consent, kinks, fetishes, and her own sexuality ( sexual orientation, romantic orientation, what her own likes/dislikes are ) begin to form and get warped due to the inconsistent treatment she got from clients and her boyfriends. i know not every muse would spend a night with a sex worker, and muns might not be comfortable with such a thing either, which i respect. i just want to put that out there since this time period is so pivotal for alison’s development and i rarely get the chance to explore such a side to her character.
