Maybe I'm biased but I like Lumine as the Traveler better than Aether as the Traveler.. yes the story is the same but it's about the sibling relationship between the older one and the younger one

#aether is the older one #so theres this sense of the older sibling quietly watching over the younger one as they stumble through the world #so it really sucks for me when they decided to make abyss lumine and traveler aether the route to go with for their promotional trailers #even in that quest where you finally meet with your twin again!! the abyss twin's personalities are different! #my friends who picked aether said abyss lumine felt a little distant #but for me abyss aether had a sort of quiet sadness #genshin impact

You take a step forward, right behind the Travelers. People, who agreed to transport you to different world. People, who gave you your name.

Scaramouche, The Balladeer, Sixth Harbinger, The Wanderer, was leaving Teyvat.

🐾 It took time, but, you managed to fit in this strange world. There were no gods among humans, no elemental powers.

🐾 Only progress.

🐾 You... liked it here. This world feels different from Teyvat. And you really appreciate it.

🐾 Your life was peaceful. At least, before this strange new game appeared.

🐾 When one day you woke up, and decide to scroll through the social media. You were more of a lurker, enjoying dramas, people started here.

🐾 And you saw it. And advertising for a new game. "Genshin Impact". And you saw Travelers on the poster. Poster for a new version. With you on it.

🐾 For the next few days, you stayed away from the Internet. The bittersweet thoughts were sinking their teeth in your mind.

🐾 Fictional. You were not just a puppet. You were a fictional puppet of a fictional character.

🐾 You spend half of the day in the nearest forest, destroying old trees with your Anemo powers.

🐾 And, after that, you didn't think about it ever again. You are here. You are in this real world. And other things should not matter.

🐾 But something changed in your behavior.

🐾 You start treating fictional characters from TV shows, books, anime and manga as real people. You talked to them, sympathies with them.

🐾 Perhaps, there is the world, where they were real.

You were relaxing on your couch after a long day of work. You recently finished daily missions in BSD Mayoi and mindlessly scrolling through the channels.

On your small kitchen, the rice cooker was on. Soon, you will have some delicious Chazuke.

You started to nod off. You don't require sleep, but, you enjoyed napping from time to time.

And, suddenly, your phone starts shaking and gloving. Immediately, you summon the power of Anemo. Winds lift you up. Your hat, that you kept on the top of one of the wardrobes, soar towards you and froze behind your back.

The atmosphere compressed under your foot in a singular vacuum. You were ready to attack.

"Please, don't be afraid, young man, we are... HOW?!" you scared Chief Taneda. And Ango. And Mori. And Kunikida. And everyone.

All of you just froze, staring at each other. You lower your feet, still floating in a midair.

You just kept staring at each other. The silence became awkward.

Dazai take a carious step forward and pocked skin of your ankle. You still were floating.

You hear the rice cooker's signal. Your dinner was ready.

You broke the silence.

"Who wants chazuke?"

🐾 Dazai created few dozens jokes about you, hats, Chuuya and height. He will add them to hundreds of thousands of jokes he already has.

🐾 Jounou will ask if you are a conspiracy theorist, after hearing about fake sky.

- During "Chapter II"

🐾 Twain joked about your resemblance with that one Elmo meme. You used your anemo powers on him. For the next few days, his hair resembles an abandoned bird nest.

🐾 After learning, that you are a doll, BSD Cast stopped the video marathon to talk to you. You were talking for few hours, they were trying to make you believe, that you are no less than normal humans.

🐾 They were crying. Crying during your backstory part. Crying during part, where you were defeated.

🐾 Expect even more affection in the future.

🐾 Yosano, Doc and Mori check your head for injuries, after seeing you fall down after you were defeated.

🐾 After learning about Dottore's role in your past and his treatment of you, BSD Gang was ready to travel to Teyvat and tear him apart. You quickly assured them, that Dottore already paid for what he did.

🐾 They were nervous, when you and memories about you disappeared.

🐾 Thought, that you were adorable, before you gain your memories back. They won't say it out loud.

🐾 Were cheering, when you got your vision. To entertain them, you float around the room.

Dear Zhongli,

I’m sorry to tell you this way, but I think it’s for the best. I’m unsure of to tell you this, but do you remember when I told you I would be there for you through thick and thin when Guizhong had passed? I promised myself that no matter what had happened or would happen, but this time... I would no be able to do that.  

 I thought I would be able to push through with my unrequited feelings, and keep it all to myself, but I’m not strong enough for this anymore. When I worked up the courage to tell you, I went to find you during the Lantern Rite, but instead of being with the young director of the Funeral Parlor, I found you with someone else.  

A beautiful//handsome blonde with a floating child at their side, you had the same look you had back when Guizhong was still alive, and right then and there, I knew I stood no chance. Your somewhat stoic face was softened at their laughs, a smile full adoration, and your eyes looking at them as if no one else in the world had existed.  

That night we were supposed to meet, but I supposed you had a different plan that didn’t include me, so that night I went back home. And the next day you gave me a half sincere apology and said you had work, but I knew better.  

When this letter reaches you, or whenever you read this, I will have gone back to my homeland, and I wish you happiness with your newfound love. I’m sorry that I’ll be leaving, but it seems like I really won’t be needed dear.  

When you and that traveler figure out your feelings for them. Please do not find me Zhongli, I don’t think I will be able to handle you again for a third time, so I wish you the best for all your years to come.

No matter what words you said whether you meant them or not, I was so foolish with my love for you, I ignored everything in my power to worm my way into your sheltered heart.  

I did everything to make myself believe that you had feelings for me, but I knew I was just lying to myself because I wanted to stay by your side without it hurting so much, but after a bit, I decided to take a break and go with Varka away from this city.  

When I came back from an expedition, I was told by Katheryne there was a new person in town, the honorary knight, and they were with you at Angel’s share, so I decided to try to surprise you by coming in from the upstairs entrance. When I seen you and them chatting, I knew I had lost to them; you had a small smile gracing your lips, your ruby eyes were soft while talking with them. 

You never looked at anyone like that, and I never experienced that look either, so when this letter finds you, I have fled the city of freedom to go back home to my family. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to say it to your face, but I love you so much Diluc, so, so, so, so much. I wish I could’ve told you to your face, but I would’ve probably broken down in front of you.

Dear Kamisato Ayato, 

When I first met you when we were children, I had come from Sumeru with my family, I was scared, terrified, and curious of being in a new place. When our parents introduced us, I knew we would be friends forever.  

When we were teenagers, and your parents passed, I told you I would be there for you no matter the time or day, I told you that you meant the world to me, and soon you got busy with overtaken your father’s job as the Tri-Commissioner. And I would got to the estate to only ever see Ayaka or Thoma, but never you, you were always busy with work.  

The one time I ever did see you, outside away from work, was when the Itadori Festival was held in Ritou. A blonde person stood by you and I knew it wasn’t Thoma, because this person was mjch shorter. They had a pretty face, lively honey colored eyes, your that were usually sharp and coy, was much softer as they laughed at something you said.  

In that moment, I knew, that your heart belonged to them, and I was too naïve to believe I could’ve won your heart, but I was too late. I wish I was able to say it to your face telling you how much I love you. How much I wanted your hand in marriage.  

I would tell Ayaka and Thoma that I would ask you out one day, and they would constantly tease me about. But once I had went to the estate to go see Ayaka after the festival, she brought me into a hug and I cried like a baby that night.  

I won’t be able to handle hearing your name or seeing you ever again, so I decided to go back home to Sumeru. My family had been wanting me back home for a few months now, so I supposed I just needed a little push.  

I’m sorry to say that when this letter finds you I will have already left. I wish you all the best, and I hope you settle down with them seeing as they have your love. I’m sorry I’m a coward, but I love you Kamisato Ayato, and goodbye.

Dear Al-Haitham, 

I’m such an idiot for ever thinking that I could catch your eye, I’ve known you since our Akedemiya days, you caught my eye, but I didn’t catch your eye. Instead, our senior Kaveh caught your eye, you two were nice to each other at first, then came the bickering.  

I always thought that I was third wheeling whenever we all hung out together, I just figured I should just skip out on our hangouts. But there were times I caught you looking at Kaveh with your eyes softened for a moment before the same hardness returned when you looked at anyone else.  

Now that I think about it, I should’ve known I stood no chance against him, he is pretty, brilliant, and just overall just a big sweetheart, I could never be mad at him, so I just turned all that anger into hatred, not for you or him, no; for myself.  

I could’ve been better, I should’ve realized, I shouldn’t have been such an idiot, even when I went to Dehya of all people to talk with she said that I should take the chance to tell you before it’s too late, but it was just embarrassing to think about so I just ignore her advice and my feelings.  

But I knew back in the moment in the Akademiya, I knew I couldn’t capture your heart because of the most beautiful student, the nicest person, the most caring human being, Kaveh.  

But with my feelings, I can no longer stay in Sumeru, so I’m going back home because I can’t take it anymore. I don’t think I can handle seeing you two together, my heart won’t be able to bare it. But I love you Al-Haitham, and I’m sorry.

Reached my boiling point after Fontaine AQ & all the consumed fan content, and decided to dive into my dream-based post-canon/ canon divergent dragon!Aether AU, in which the Traveler "unlocks" himself a dragon form through [4.2 AQ spoilers]. So I snatched a liner to not get "stuck" in sketches, and found him during work breaks ^^

Think of this AU as taking place after the final (successful) war with Celestia, in which Aether participated in the form of that huge eldritch gentleman from the last sketch page. Also, most of my Genshin content revolves/will revolve around my polyamorous Kaeya/Aether/Ajax (Kaetherajax) OTP in any dynamic. Although "my" Aether is far more on a leading side, a "connecting link", and an anchor for Ajax and Kaeya - all three ultimately being a secret safe space for each other.

So wth did this come from:

I once had a dream about Aether being stuck in the dragon form in a different world xD He looked similar to a dragon OC of mine, as if he +- belonged to the same species but with his own quirks. In the dream he looked somewhere in-between the "condensed" (was also a liiiiittle bit bigger than that) and "uncondensed" versions. The twins found themselves in a "classy fantasy" world with different branches of magic, and Aether turned out to be a metamorph-healer. They helped to alleviate this world's global crisis, but a fragment of something connected with the local "dark side of the force" got lodged in Aether's chest, seized control over him and forced him to slip away in an unknown direction, stuck in the form of a dragon. Lumine and the local Chaeya set off to search for him - and succeeded! He almost R.I.P.ed them, but came to his senses in time. Most memorable moments:

Aether's appearance - he had three eyes, and when he was under control of the shard, the right and third eyes were just rolled back white, while the left had multiple pupils, similar to a demon from my bw pict attached. But he was overall incredibly creepy in this "possessed" state.

When Aether began to struggle for control, he moved like... I don't know how to describe it, but it was SO fucked up - it was clear from the movements that two entities were fighting for the "seat at the helm", and the body looked like a marionet at times. The closest I can think of is the monkey boss from Sekiro in its headless phase, when it does plunge attacks and forward dashes with a sword x'DDD The sight was absolutely chilling.

When Aether "surfaced" and allowed Lumi, Kaeya and Ajax to get their hands almost elbow-deep into his chest and try to pull out the shard. But while it was budging, it was burning their hands almost to the bone, even despite Lumi's healing and the combo of water-ice cooling from Cheya. In the end it tossed them all aside by some sort of shockwave - so Aether dove into his own wound while he was still "lucid", and ripped the shard out with his own teeth, for Lumine to destroy it.

And the last but not the least was the most hilarious scene of licking the wounds of the companions - Aether was capable of healing almost any damage but in such a strange way, 'cause dragon incarnation enhanced all the abilities, but something about its "composition" influenced "magic conductivity" xDD He carefully used Kaya's palm as an example for what he had in mind (he had a hard time speaking in this form). Kaeya immediately bared Childe's nasty wound (on his side) from Aether's claws, and Childe was instantly alarmed for the most ridiculous reasons:

Сhilde: Nononono wait - he's her brother, right? A human! Another very human man licking me! How is that okay?! Kaeya: ... Do you HAVE to make things even more awkward than they are? Lumine: does a discreet eyeroll

Turns out it was very much okay, but there was one very awkwardly fluffed up Aether licking the wounds of a tomato-grade red Childe, who was hiding his face in his hands.

I have this idea for a yandere genshin au. It revolves around the reader being able to travel from our world to Teyvat. Not only that, but they can travel to Teyvat at multiple different points in history. At first, they can only travel through dreams, until eventually they are able to transport themselves at will. However, the most they do so, the more they start to loose touch with reality, and are unable to tell what’s real and fake. For the sake of making sense, Genshin isn’t a video game, but more so like another dimension or reality. (Longer explanation below the cut).

You, the reader, have been having these dreams were you see the memories of Aether and Lumine before the events of the main story. Slowly these dreams become more like memories, almost like they were real. You try and talk about it with people you trust, but they chalk it up to and overactive imagination.

In one of these dreams, you are able to talk to them, where they explain the adventures they have gone on. You’re fascinated, asking to come along, which they happily oblige too. Together you go on wonderful adventures, until you wake up. You wonder how your brain was able to come up with something so strange and you don’t have dreams involving the two again for awhile, or so it seems.

You know how when you’re sleeping, you feel as though your aren’t dreaming even though you are? That’s essentially what happens. You meet up with Aether and Lumine multiple different times without even knowing it. During these moments, their obsession with you grows, becoming insanely over protective of you, both of them attempting to find a way to get you to stay with them, forever.

Unbeknownst to the twins, your were also experiencing dreams of Teyvat throughout its history. Some dreams you were consciously aware of, while others you weren’t. These forgotten dreams result in you having what you believe to be false memories, while in reality they are memories of your time in Tevyat, severely repressed due to the intense strain they put on your mind. These memories include meeting the Archons and traveling old Teyvat with them. The Archons, of course, become obsessed with you, fascinated by this strange person with and even stranger power.

Whenever you were consciously dreaming, it seemed as though the people you were meeting were changing, becoming more and more strange. They would sometimes even mention things that you couldn’t even remember, them brushing it off with a laugh. At this point, you were still convinced this was all a product of your imagination and not real, so you don’t really question it.

Slowly, your dreams start to become more intense. You start sleepwalking, falling asleep in your bed and waking up in random places. You start to sleep for days on end, your body incredibly sore when you wake up. You even start hallucinating, seeing and hearing things that shouldn’t be there. You blame it on the dreams and attempt to have them less, but whenever you do, your mind becomes hazy and you start hearing voices and the hallucinations become worse.

The worst was when you woke up one day, stepping out your front door to go to work, only to be greeted by Mondstadt. You were confused, disoriented, and afraid. That was until a man you never met but felt so familiar came up to you, carefully cupped his hand around your cheek, and told you it was time to wake up. When you did, you were at you desk at work, a small pile of drool covering your papers.

After that, you attempt to remember your dreams better, writing everything down so you can figure out what’s happening to you. While your in your world doing that, your friends in Tevyat are trying to figure out how your able to travel through dreams, and how they can use that to keep you with them.

The shrill voice was accompanied by the sound of a gold chalice being slammed on the marble floor

“What do you mean, there’s been no sight of them?!” Your doppelganger asked the cowering soldiers

“We’re sorry your Grace. We’ve combed through every corner and still there hasn’t been sight of them!” A nameless soldier spoke

“It’s only been a few weeks, they must be hiding somewhere!”

“We’re trying to find the imposter as best as we can-”

“Then try harder! GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!!!!” The almost animalistic shriek sent the soldiers scurrying out of the room like rats

The doppelganger drags their hands across their face, revealing the dark circles that started to appear due to lack of sleep caused by anxiety

“Fuck, they’re probably assembling an army. And they’re gonna come after me and take my head like I almost took theirs….” The doppelganger grab chunks of their hair and begin to pull in an attempt to alleviate their growing panic. “Uhh? Yeah, you’re right. We just need to find them before their army can go against me. We have 6 nations and their archons under our thumb. There’s no way they can face us.” The doppelganger releases the grip on their hair. “I don’t know I would do without you…”

The trip wasn’t that bad, the only part that you didn’t care for was trying to get Aether and Childe not to kill each other. Other than that, everything’s been alright. The crew treated you nicely, you introduced them to some card games from your world and played some of them on the regular to keep occupied

And before you knew it you reached the shore of the snowy nation, Snezhnaya. A familiar man with a short stature and tall hat waved as you walked onto the dock

“Your Grace, I’m glad you arrived to outr beauty nation safely. Though I wish it was under better circumstances.” Pulcinella said

“I’m just happy that you even allow me here, it’s nice not having to worry about being hunted down.”

“I do hope you find respite in our country, your Grace.” The elderly man turned his head toward Lumine. “I see you brought… the traveler.”

“She was the first one to help me evade capture and saved my life multiple times. Without her I wouldn’t be talking to you right now and I won’t stand for any of your subordinates to harm her or her Paimon in anyway, am I clear with that?”

“Y-yes, let me lead the way, your Grace.”

The harbinger began walking and you and your party soon follow him

“Woo, you gave Paimon a scare back there! It’s almost like you were a completely different person!”

“I have to agree with her, you looked like a sergeant giving orders to new recruits.” Childe leaned in and whispered. “This might be the only time I’ve seen him scared like this!”

Pulcinella lead you to the gate of Zapolyarny Palace. The inside looked absolutely beautiful. You walked down icy blue halls that seemed to be made of ice. The walls had intricate patterns painted onto them, a wall even a mural that was too far away to decipher them. The elderly man opened two big doors and held his head high

“Behold! The Divine Creator of Teyvat!” Pulcinella announced

All of the 8 attendees stood up and watched as you entered the room. Your eyes fixed onto the person in the center

A woman stood proud, a silver crown sat on top of icy blonde hair with light blue tips framing a pale face. Her eyes were a piercing blue and looked colder than the frigid weather outside.

The cryo archon. The Tsarita herself before you

“It is an honor to be blessed by your divine presence, your Grace.” She greeted as she and the other harbingers bowed

“There’s no need for the formalities, I’m grateful that you’re all helping me. But my double doesn’t know that I’m here, I wouldn’t want to put any of you in danger.”

“Only a select few know that you are here, your Grace. We can’t risk your safety by having knowledge of your whereabouts get leaked.” Capitano explained

“We’re already working on a plan to defeat the true imposter and as we this carry out, you can stay in palace for as long as you need.” Pierro said

“Thank you, but I request something else from you.”

“Anything, just say it and we will make come into fruition.” The Tsarita promised

As your voice bounced off the cold walls the Harbingers all looked at you in horror

“Your Grace, we can’t let you do that in good faith. Your powers aren’t the same as they were when you last walked Teyvat.” Sandrone pleaded

“I know, but Childe told me that you have stones that are the supposed remains of the Creator.”

“We do, but we don’t know if your human form would be able to utilize the effects of these gems and not reject it completely.” Dottore tried to reason

“Bring the gem in.”

The Harbingers turned their heads towards the Tsarita. All wanting to object but can’t bring themselves to do so

“Alright… your majesty.” Pulcinella said as he tried to stead his voice. “You heard her majesty, bring the holy stone in.” He said to an attendant guarding the door

Said attendant rushed out of the room and soon came back into the room with another attendant carting in a glass case containing a glowing stone.

Once the cart was in front of you, you admired the gem. Seeing it on a screen is one thing but seeing it glow with your own two eyes, it truly looked it was something holy

“Uh you know don’t have to do this, you might get hurt really badly.” Paimon pleaded

“She’s right, we can find another way to get your hold powers back.” Lumine suggested

“Your Grace, that is one thing I agree with them on. We nor you don’t know what would happen if you touch that stone.” Aether was the last one to urge you against this idea

For a second you thought maybe it was a bad idea to connect with it, but you had to do what needs to be done

“As I said, I’m a hell of a lot more resilient than I look.” You gave the Harbingers and the twins the most reassuring smile you could muster

You turned your attention back to the gem and mentally prepared yourself. You finally expended your hand and touched the Primogem

A flash of light enveloped you and…

Nothing happened

You looked around the room to see if anything was out of place, except for the gem being gone

“D-did the Primogem vanish?” You asked mainly to yourself

“It looked as if it had fused with you.” Aether replied

“How do you feel, is there anything out of usual?” Lumine asked

“Not that different. If the rock didn’t fuse with me I would’ve assumed it didn’t work.”

“It appears to be that these ‘Primogems’ have a lot less power than what we originally believed.” Pantalone muttered to himself

“If that’s the case, then I’ll put an order on searching these gems.” The Tsarita declared

Things at the Grand Narukami Shrine have been… tense, to say the least

Everyone is so agitated at the news of an imposter still loose somewhere. It really isn’t a desirable environment to read light novels. But the Guuji is having much more fun listening to the shrine maidens expressing their concerns about the possibility of said impostor in their humble nation

“I’m just saying, where else would that rat go than here!” The shrine maiden Nana said

“It would be very foolish on their part, the Shogun and her army would immediately drive them out!” Hotomi scoffed

“Enough of that nonsense.”

The two shrine maiden turned towards the sound of the voice and saw the Shogun walking into view

“Al-almighty Shogun, we’re honored that you visited us, is there anything we can do for you!” Hotomi stammered through

“Leave, and tell everyone you see here to do the same.” The purple haired woman said

The two women run towards the stairs scared of the wrath they might face if they stall any longer

Once seeing that the shrine was truly empty the Shogun turned towards the youkai, who was enjoying her tea

“My, my, that was a little harsh to scare them away like that.” The Kitsune mused while standing up from her seat. “Seeing you here, I would assume you have something important to tell me.”

The head shrine maiden walked towards the taller woman

“So what do you have to tell me, puppet?”

Like a sixth sense, they feel something is coming. Or at least that kind of anticipation. Its in the way that their movements, their actions, your entire will is anxious. The phantom blips and trills of your actions have been ringing with greater frequency this ‘day’. Many had passed for the golden haired outlander, but something innate told them that it was but hours for you, their truest guide, their Overseer.

A thrill ran through them as they allowed the possessive thought into their mind. It felt right. After all, they were the very first to feel your presence. They were the first being in all of Teyvat, despite not being of Teyvat themselves, to taste the tug of your will. You may be Teyvat’s greatest divine, but you were their guiding light, their northern star... and they were your cherished. So of course they could tell the difference between their minutes and yours; between their days and yours; between your changing emotional states.

‘Today’, there was an excitement to your energy. Nervous, but excited. Delighted, maybe? What they felt, clearest of all, was that you were excited for them. Again, they shivered at the favouritism being shown to them. Favourite. Their sword-hand clenched. They were your favourite. No, they are your favourite. Why else would you always return to them? Default to them?

What drew you so much to that puppy-boy general? They had almost the exact same build! And, not to blow smoke, but Aether considered himself much more appealing than the Inazuman general! No-one you had come across so far in Teyvat looked like him, sans his sister! He was beautiful! He was exotic! So why didn’t you dote on him? His cheeks puffed petulantly. But he shook his head, recollecting himself.

No, no. He was the soft twin. Gentle smiles and a soft, warm voice. That was how you described him, no? A… ‘soft boy’? These ugly thoughts didn’t coincide with his idea of that title. That wouldn’t do. He was your cherished. Your soft boy. He was whatever you wanted him to be. Your words, your will, you were his. His body, his soul, his everything was yours. Whatever you wanted him to be.

Aether’s hand came to rest over his heart. That was right. The two of you were one. He moved at your thought, he fought for your honour, he died and was reborn by your will. So, it only stood to reason that your excitement was his also. Yes, there was something exciting on the horizon. Something that warranted his fervent anticipation if it made his Observer so energetic…

Lumine

Her teeth ground together painfully, the sudden sensation of animosity pulling aggro from the hilichurls that should have been nonthewiser to her presence. She heard you curse before she leapt into action, Festering Desire practically singing with bloodlust as she dashed into the camp of forsaken. Lumine’s heart grew lighter as elemental energy coursed through her very being, following your will as it dispersed; decimating poor ‘mobs’ that had thought to attack the two of you.

“Hey! Paimon’s in danger too, y’know!” Oops! Three.

Flicking her sword to the side, watching it disintegrated before feeling it reappear on her back, Lumine took a deep breath. No. She loved the friends she had made here in Teyvat. These wonderful people that felt your presence as she did. A being as ever present, effervescent, eternal as you had a heart filled with far too much love for her alone to shoulder; even if the thought thrilled her.

She was the cool twin. Take names, and kick ass. Stoic but with a heart of gold. If she recalled correctly, this was your… ‘headcanon’ for her? Something you had just for her! Her cheeks coloured. Yes. She was your number one; your cherished among cherished; the one you always returned to. Her hands rose to cup her cheeks. She felt your love at her very core. You filled her so perfectly. It was ok that you loved her friends, wonderful even!

Just more cherished to shower you with all the love you deserved…

A blippy trill filled their mind. That could mean a plethora of things. One in particular shot a terrific, icy stab into their heart; it could mean you were withdrawing your presence. That terror fled with the warmth of teleportation. By the Seven, you shouldn’t scare them like that! Appearing beneath a statue of the Raiden Shogun, their legs quickly carried them across the Inazuman landscape. Leaping across a waterway near the Sanganomiya camp, they shot out their wind glider; the musical theme being a gift you only granted them, yet more proof of your favour.

They came to a stop just outside of Yasumoto’s home. Oh, right. At the top of the ‘day’, you’d had them leave a dozen plants in his basket. They kept hundreds on hand so what was a dozen a ‘day’? Their heart stuttered as they heard you laugh. Could you be more perfect? Your voice alone completed them, but your laughter…

“Hope you’re as excited for Sumeru as I am!” You cooed their name, half laughing. Were you that excited? …Sumeru? Was that what you were excited about? Did you intend to travel to Sumeru soon? Another step toward their wayward sibling, another new adventure to embark upon with you. They felt light. Abuzz. How could they not be excited to share yet another experience with you? It was almost enough for them to miss that familiar, phantom trill. Almost.

“Ok, I’ll be back as soon as the update finishes tomorrow, promise! Get ready, because we’re gonna be busy!” Usually, their heart would drop as they felt your presence leave them. But you just weren’t playing fair. You were so excited, positively giddy to be traveling to yet another nation with them! They took a seat on the stone fence behind them, quickly transitioning to laying back; gazing up at the stars.

Of course they were excited for the morrow… so long as it meant more time with you.

BONUS

Glancing out his window, the man trembled. They had just been… laying there. For days. Should he go check on them? His instincts as a doctor were drowned out by a primal terror each time he happened to spot the golden-haired outlander waiting outside his abode. As if something in him knew that he flirted with death if he were to disturb the powerful person but moments away from him.

Yasumoto sighed. All he wanted was to collect his Naku Weeds...

Aether isn't sure why he feels this way, but there's something deeply unnerving by the Creator all of Teyvat worships.

Something deep within his very existence churns in discomfort whenever they are so much as mentioned, and the only meeting he has ever had with said Creator had forever been burned into his memory as the most nauseating experience of his life. Aether has traveled through many, many worlds, and not even the oftentimes turbulent travel between said worlds made him that sick.

It's like something very wrong occupies the throne of the Creator, but Aether is the only one who can tell, despite not being able to tell what tells him.

So what isn't his surprise when one day, he wakes up from another night under the stars, to find the face of the Creator right above his?

And what isn't his surprise when instead of dread, he's filled with utter warmth? Comfort? Peace?

Peace.

“Hello, Aether.”

He sits up with a gasp at the sound of his name, looking around for something he isn't sure what it is. He's still in the clearing they had made camp, and Paimon is still sleeping soundly by his side, but something feels very, very different. Like a thousand eyes were giving him attention at the same time.

“Oh, sorry. Still don't know how to control that. Or, well, most things, really.”

Aether focuses on the girl sitting near him. Her expression is calm and her eyes hold a glint too difficult to analyze. She's dressed like the people in one of the many worlds Aether and his twin had visited: a hoodie, jeans and sneakers. She looks incredibly out of place, and feels like she absolutely belongs.

“Because I am and I do.”

“... Do you... Read minds?”

“Yes. No. Hard to say if I'm reading your mind or just know you. I'm still not used to all this.”

She does a noncommittal gesture with her hands and Aether can't help but to be more confused.

“This ody, this consciousness, are me but not. Same entity, different consciousness. We're on the process of merging.”

“... what are you, then?” he has to ask.

“You know what I am, from the moment you first breathed. I am the world. I am all. I am nothing. I am life. I am death. I am the truth. I am me. And I am you."

That last bit was said in his voice, however he couldn't find it in himself to be scared. No, instead he took a shaky breath and swallowed his tears.

Aether and Lumine, the only children of the Great Priestess, were well acquainted with the existence of The All, The Existence, The First Being. To think he'd find them, find Her in another world, habitating human form.

But She's been always with him, hasn't She? Specially after he arrived in this world, when he'd feel an external force gently guide him through battles and travels.

“Aether, you are mine. This world and yours, I am both. You know this, you've known it even before you put foot here, you've been praying to me since your first thought.”

“Your–”

“If you call me Your Grace or any variation, I'll throw myself in that lake.”

“T–then...”

“If you really want to, a simple Miss or Lady (Y/N) will do.”

Aether repeats both under his breath until he settles for Lady (Y/N), happiness blooming inside his chest when she nods her head and accepts his words. Here he is, chatting with his own Creator, he can't wait to tell Lumine next time they meet, maybe that will convince her to leave the Abyss–

Wait.

The Creator.

“The faker Celestia sent? What of them?”

“You know?” he asks, despite knowing the answer. Of course She knows.

“They are part of the reason why I'm here. Once I've created my worlds, I try to not interfere too much, giving them the chance to evolve naturally. But sometimes they get out of hand. Celestia is trying to become me, and I will not allow it.”

Her expression darkens, and a delighted shiver runs down Aether's back.

“Whatever you need, Lady (Y/N), I will help you.”

after you, [name], the so-called fearless adventurer, got trapped within an odd situation with your now best friend venti, you never thought things would be the same.

...well, to start off, yes, you have gone through many adventures and met countless people, but this time, you found someone you believed was worthy of your time.

when you first got to teyvat, you've tried many different scenarios and thoughts rummaging through your mind but you couldn't fathom the idea that you were practically stuck here forever.

before you met venti, you met your side companion, paimon.

after the tragic run-through with that... lady, who somewhat reminded you of the small companion next to you, you couldn't help but stare at venti in agony.

quickly, he sensed something was off, and turned his head towards you, meeting your sorrowful eyes.

"...yes?"

"it's..." you begin to speak, "it's just that, i've been wondering where you have been all my life."

"awh! don't get all sappy on me now," venti loudly exclaims, his light-teal orbs widening and getting so up close to you for what ever reason.

you ran through hills, ran over hills, more plains than hills, honestly.

but you still couldn't fathom that the boy next to you has grown so fond of you...

outside the knights' headquarters, you found yourself with your small companion next to you while exploring the plains of the area you found yourself in.

quickly, you caught a glimpse of the green male who was currently running from you even though you told him you both weren't racing anymore.

furthermore, after about what seemed like thirty minutes or so, you noticed him running in front of the goth grand hotel.

"venti, seriously," you exclaimed, turning your head up a little to emphasize your annoyance even more.

“take this, please?” you sigh, handing him an envelope that sealed your heart’s content for your travel through this… world.

jeez, you got sleep paralysis again.

here you were, your mind not functioning probably after having just defeated one of the first harbingers so far.

you’ve experienced much less than this.

you’ve fought cicin mages, basically a nightmare.

never again.

however, just as you were waking up, your vision faded into a vignette.

you tried to get up, you can’t even fathom how the jade chamber already broke.

what made it even worse is that ningguang allowed you to stay in her jade chamber for a certain period of time because you had practically no where to stay for the time being throughout your trip of liyue.

however, after hours of convincing, you finally got keqing to allow you to stay with her and ganyu until then.

…well, until then, you’d already had been able to call liyue your home.

your weary mind still wasn’t functioning.

after months and almost years, you were finally in fontaine.

you were so out of breath from running to the latest trial to attend with neuvillette for a couple of days.

“according to the oratrice mecanique d’analyse cardinale,” neuvillette spoke, “laurence is…” he pauses once more, “…guilty.”

you noticed how his breath was shaky.

you also knew he was the type of judge to absolutely despise performing trials that led into executions.

however, you couldn’t help but think back to your era in mondstadt.

basically, if venti found someone committing a terrible crime, he would barely even do anything about it then run over to you to tell you all about what he saw.

“so… did you do anything about it?” you asked, raising a brow.

“well…” he pauses, “yes, but i couldn’t catch up to them.”

“…you have the ability to glide faster than anyone, what do you mean you couldn’t catch up to them?”

back to the present however, neuvillette was saying your name multiple times, trying to get you to activate the oratrice.

you were resting in your dorm in the fortress, writing incoherent words onto the sheet in front of you because of how tired you were.

"well, according to my scryglass and the people of fontaine's predictions, i feel as if you will not be able to make it out alive," mona speaks, her voice quieting down a little to not alert the other people where you two were standing, "unless you come back to mondstadt with me, that is," she whispered.

that's when your heart skipped a beat.

your mind drifted back to the time you once entered teyvat to be dragged towards mondstadt, your home town, practically.

not only that, but the most important part about mondstadt for you was... what was his name again?

fontaine...

fontaine was now your home town.

you could barely remember anything that happened back in the nation of anemo.

"are you not from fontaine, mona?" you suddenly blurt out, to which she has gotten caught off guard from.

"well, yes, i am, but..." she pauses, "this place is dangerous, to say the least," she continues, "wriothesley had already told you about the primordial sea water, yes?"

"but... furina..." you sigh.

"she'll be okay," mona quickly replies.

"how do you know?"

mona rolls her eyes at you.

after the prophecy was claimed false, you couldn't help but sigh again.

but why were you sighing?

"did you want to leave this place so bad, huh?" mona crosses her arms.

Kicking down the door not to talk about the magic man but the deadman himself.

I- I adore how you wrote aether! He’s so straight forward and to the point that I think even the most dense reader would be able to put it together. And the fact this man held a flame for reader for FIVE whole nations? Wild, look at the pining and adoration of this man. He was in Fontaine and came all the way to mondstat JUST to be taken care of by what was at the time his crush (since there was no accepting yet). The guts of this man.

But also like- the vulnerability of him asking reader to stay. He already lost his sister right in front of him. Of course he doesn’t want to lose someone else. And ‘I’m staying for you?’ Sushdyrheus- my heart. It gone.

The fact that reader’s reasoning as well to not accept due to the fact that the traveler is gonna just leave one day also makes so much sense. Maybe I’m just bad at finding them but I don’t see that touched often. Man travels to different worlds, the only reason he met reader was because he is stuck in Teyvat. I can absolutely see the logic.

Of course, that only makes the fact that aether would stay just for the reader all the sweeter. Man would give up his old way of life for love.

YES OH MY GOD i want to point out the "the only reason aether met reader was because he got stuck in teyvat" !!! that was what started that little fic. im not sure but i think this is the first time the twins got trapped in a world and to me that gave aether the perspective of exploring a world without the intention of leaving right away. and that kinda opened up his view on having feelings for someone in that world (ahem mc) with the intention of staying this time!!! im surprised u caught that one and pointed it out

and tysm <333 i love writing aether like this bc to me its so very much canon. we see glimpses of his personality through ingame dialogue and his voicelines w paimon -- and i take advantage of those all the time. to me he has such an AMAZING personality in a way that seems like he's so done all the time. and do u guys know the amount of flirting aether/lumine do to npcs?? ... bro. i cant find the one im thinking of atm but every time they do it i crack up so hard

These are my own headcanons for how I think Aether and Lumines personalities are like.

Lumine

Okay starting off with my personal favourite character 🫶🫶 she’s a BITCH

Not the kind of bitch like, constantly insulting and talking shit about someone bitch. The more witty and condescending bitch

Though she would talk shit about you to your face if she was in a particularly bad mood

Morally grey, though a darker shade of grey

The kind of person you don’t see laughing often apart from at other people’s misery (Aether falling down the stairs)

Judgmental, but fair in her judgment. Most of the time anyway. Sometimes she’s petty af

She’s kind of like an extroverted introvert if that makes sense? She’s completely socially confident and can talk to people if she wants to - she just doesn’t want to

Incredibly assertive and confident in herself in general and isn’t afraid to say whatever she’s thinking, no matter how harsh it may come across

Brutally honest

She’s cold and calculating. Doesn’t smile much aside from when it’s just her and her brother

Deffo has a resting bitch face

She gets irritated pretty quickly, but is also quick to calm down after

Very much a forgive but never forget person

Also very much a revenge person

She won’t stay mad at something for too long unless it’s a huge thing. If it is then 😬

One of the worst people to piss off. If she doesn’t like you, you’ll know. It won’t be pretty. If it’s that big of a thing she would most likely go out of her way to make their life a living hell until she gets bored or Aether steps in

Has a little bit of a God complex I’m not gonna lie

In the sense that she sees herself and her brother as a lot more powerful and therefore - important than the average person

Which they are far more powerful dont get me wrong, but it’s led Lumine to the mindset where she sees those below her as weakish

I’ll get more into this in a future post. It links up to quite a few other headcanons I have

Very very brave though. And not a complete asshole, she will go out of her way to help people sometimes

If she sees someone being attacked by hilichurls she will jump in to fight, no questions asked. She may be a little huffy about it if she’s trying to go somewhere but still

It would take a long long time to become friends with her aside from if shes particularly interested in someone, but when she is genuinely someone’s friend she’s incredibly loyal and protective of that person

She’s interested in people who are strong willed and know exactly what they want and aren’t afraid to go for it

Also she admires those who are logical, don’t freak out over the littlest things and are usually calm and co-ordinated

If they know how to fight that’s also a plus

She doesn’t like making friends often as she and Aether never stay in once place. They travel from world to world and she feels horrible leaving them

DTF. She likes pleasure and is quite a sexual person. If she finds someone attractive and they both want it then she will take it

She’s a badass and girlbossing her way through life fr I love her so much

With Aether -

She’s a much different person around her brother than she is with anyone else

First, she’s a lot more active and playful with him. Out with other people she’s usually quiet

Not completely silent at all, she certainly lets her presence be know, but she prefers to sit back and listen

Oh she’s fantastic at reading people that’s something I forgot to mention

Anyway, with Aether she seems a lot more happier and outgoing

Smiles an awful lot more, though still has her resting bitch face

Aether likes to make fun of her for it

They both like to make fun of each other a lot. Nothing serious or mean or anything. Just little things

Okay they are twins so occasionally mean

She trusts him entirely and it’s evident with the way she acts with him, she’s protective. Not Aether level protective but still quite protective

Trusts him to the point which he knows every single weakness of hers. Every struggle she faces, every thought she has

No one else would ever come close to getting her to reveal any of her weaknesses. Including her friends

She’s properly herself around Aether. Not just cold and confident as she is around anyone else

She’s still confident, but she’s very warm around him

Drags him around everywhere she goes. The two are attached one the hip. It’s like they are one whole body sometimes

Teases him ALL THE TIME

Though it’s a ‘I can make fun of my brother but if anyone else does it they will pay’ kinda thing

Same goes for Aeth

As much as she loves him, the two get on each others nerves

While not usually petty around others, Lumine is PETTY around Aether

Aether makes an off handed comment about Lumines hair one time and completely forgets about it afterwards? Okay! Lumine does his braid rough and too tight on on uncomfortable angle for a month. Making offhanded comments about it every day that sound suspiciously like what he said to her three weeks ago

She forgives Aether a lot faster than she does with anyone else though

Aether

Now Aether! He’s somewhere in my top three I don’t know if he’s second or third but probably second??? Idk

Huge golden retriever energy

Usually a pretty polite guy. Opens doors for people, says thank you and that

Pretty much polar opposite of Lumine when it comes to people, he really really enjoys talking and social interaction with almost anyone

Introverted extrovert, loves being around people but he can’t do it 24/7 without feeling a little drained. Needs some time on his own or with just Lumine to charge up

Super social though, the kind of guy who can go up to someone and just strike up a conversation

Has definitely been invited to a wedding in the first ten minutes of meeting someone before

He just likes getting on with people in general. It’s nice talking with people and can benefit him and Lumine

People are interesting to understand and they can benefit them both by giving them food if they need it, shelter etc etc

Like Lumine - he’s socially confident

After being around people for eons he’s learned how they work, interact, how to talk with them etc etc so he’s pretty confident in that regard

He and Lumine never stay in one place for very long so there’s no good in being nervous around people

All this goes out of the window when he’s crushing on someone

The dudes a big romantic unlike Lumine. He likes romance, she likes pleasure

It’s not really often but when he likes someone romantically he usually becomes a bit more nervous and says a few more awkward things

Laughing at unconventional times

He still knows what to say and is pretty confident, just a bit more dorky and such

Hard to piss off but when you do he gets very very snappy and sarcastic

Surprisingly he holds grudges for longer than Lumine

He’s a revenge person but nothing like Lumine. Usually it’s small revenge like saying something back or trying to embarrass the person a little bit

He’s a little bit immature at times, nothing major but just little things. Usually pretty mature in general

In public Lumine seems like the most mature out of the two when really with each other they both have the maturity levels of bloody children

Morally light grey

Can be a bit overly selfless at times

Has the tendency to overwork himself to the point of debilitating

Please he’s so tired he’s been trying to stop Lumine from annihilating someone for looking at her wrong when she accidentally set the stove on fire, give him a break

He’s a really nice and good guy in general don’t get me wrong but he doesn’t really care as much as other people think he does

I mean that in the sense that he doesn’t have a deep and meaningful connection many things when he travels to other worlds

He doesn’t care about being a hero and actively helping people it just happens - though he’s certainly not complaining

He finds it a lot easier letting go of people when he and Lumi leave to other worlds

In his eyes he’s come, made a good impression and now it’s time to go

It’s different to Lumine as he doesn’t have an emotional connection to anyone there apart from his sister so it’s easier to let go. Lumine doesn’t have as deep emotional connections with anyone aside from her brother, but she still has some form of connection to them

Like I said, she makes very few friends but when she does she gets to know them and like them more just because she spends more time with them individually rather than a lot of people as a whole like Aether does

With Lumine -

Surprisingly, Aether is actually the slightly calmer twin when it comes to their personalities with each other

Only slightly. They are both very much a chaotic duo when they are together

That’s why the had to be separated 😔 causing too much mischief

His personality with others isn’t as different as it is with Lumine aside from he likes to tell a lot more jokes and gets really sarcastic

Sometimes his jokes are to try and gross Lumine out as much as possible

One time he ate a raw egg. Absolutely no prompting at all. Lumine had gathered some food for them to eat in a world once and was starting to cook over a fire, when Aether looked her dead in the eyes and took a bite out of a raw egg

He will always say out of all the years they have been travelling together, he has never seen her with a more disgusted expression at that moment

To make it worse he ever tried to grab hold of her face and give her a kiss on the cheek straight after, leading to the both of them wrestling on the floor

Aether will say he won, Lumine will say she will. Either way Lumine now has egg trauma.

The two bounce off each other in both the worst and best ways

Like he does with Lumine, she also knows every weakness of his, struggle and thought

The two know absolutely everything about each other

He’s much more emotional around her than he is with others

Usually he limits himself to the ‘hero’ prototype people see when they think of him, he doesn’t intend to be a hero but it’s what he usually accidentally ends up being

But not with Lumine, with Lumine he’s completely honest about what he’s thinking and feeling

If he’s stressed he will tell her. If he’s upset he will tell her. If he’s mad he will tell her

He knows he doesn’t have to worry about being seen differently around her

His role with her is to try and get them both out of trouble after she gets them into it

6/10 times it backfires and they end up landing themselves in even more trouble

You can just tell they were both an absolute menace together when they were children

Even though he’s only mere milliseconds older than Lumine, he likes to take the self proclaimed role of big brother very very seriously

Fake scolding her when she gets into shit, always keeping an incredibly close eye on anyone who comes near her. Especially men

He’s really protective of her. Usually he plays it off as a joke but it has led to them having arguments before

When they argue Aether gets more sad then angry, while Lumine is more frustrated

Like usual though, they are both quick to forgive each other after

How much knowledge does the BSD cast have of Teyvat and Reader's identity? 3. How did the Reader disappear for the first time? 4. Is Teyvat self-aware? Is these too much questions? 1. 1. With elemental monsters: They can feel Echoes of Creator's powers coming from Reader. They don't attack Reader, listen to them. Reader have no reason to worry about fighting with them. Moreover, they would help Reader, if someone tried to attack them. But, if Fake Creator decided to go after Reader themselves, Elemental Monsters won't do anything to help. They won't help Reader or Fake Creator. For Elemental Monsters, both Reader and Fake Creator look like True/Real Creator.

1.2. Situation with hilichurls are similar to situation with Elemental Monsters. But, they can choose sides and can be manipulated. So, there are hilichurls, that would chase after Reader.

1.2.1. Abyss Order believe in Fake Creator. They are searching for Reader, helping humans hunting Reader. Abyss Order manipulate hilichurls into choosing Fake Creator's side.

1.3. Celestia is on Reader's side. They were True Creator's (First one) familiars, they knew, how exactly Creator's reincarnations will look like. They see Fake Creator as an abomination. A crime against First Creator.

That's the reason why Fake Creator destroy Celestia. So they won't tell the truth about Fake Creator.

Celestia is weak, but Celestia gods and Sustainer will give away everything they had to protect Reader.

1.4. Traveler are really confused. Both Reader and Fake Creator have similar auras. Traveler can't tell the difference between them. On one hand, there are poor Reader, who are love in fear of being captured. On second hand, there are Fake Creator, who helped their sibling. Who reunited Aether and Lumine. And Abyss Sibling want Reader's blood. So, Traveler are hunting Reader down.

1.5. Fake Creator hate Reader. Fake are sure, that Reader came into Teyvat to overthrow them. Fake Creator want to kill Reader and absorb their powers. Fake Creator will do anything to get all Reader's powers, even, if it means to do unspeakable things to Reader and their body.

2. For BSD Cast, Teyvat was a fictional world. When they still were in their own world, they were looking through other apps Reader have on their phone, they didn't feel anything strange coming from Genshin Impact. Moreover, they played in Genshin Impact (helping Reader with exploration, chests and oculus) while Reader were doing something else.

BSD Cast weren't interested in Genshin Impact too much. Until Reader disappeared, reappeared, and Capitano followed them.

After that, BSD Cast start looking for an info about Teyvat.

Katai, Naomi, Kirako, teens and kids (Karma, Kenji, Kuyoka, Kyuusaku, Aya, Elise, Sakura, Yuu, Katsumi, Shinji and Kousuke) are searching through Wiki, YouTube, Reddit, Tumblr, TV Tropes, looking for Genshin lore.

Others are traveling to Teyvat through the portal and spying on Teyvat people, learning about Creator.

So, they became knowledgeable about Teyvat and Creator.

They still not sure about Reader's identity. BSD Cast think, that Reader can be either Creator's reincarnation, or Reader simply look the same as Creator. There is no way for them to prove it or disprove. Reader's powers only work in Teyvat, and BSD Cast won't let Reader return there.

Reader's identity doesn't matter to BSD Cast. They love/like and cherish Reader. Reader were hurt. Someone must pay for that.

3. It was an incident. Fake Creator tried to search for more things, that were left from previous reincarnations, so they used a "spell" to transport everything, that have First Creator's powers in Teyvat. And Reader are considered part of "everything, that have Creator's powers".

4. Teyvat is Self-Aware to some extent. It can "feel", what kind of powers, both Reader and Fake Creator. It even can tell, who are real and who are fake. But, its powers are limited.

First Creator add a rule into Teyvat's 'soul', while creating it.

'Humans over all. You can never hurt them on purpose'

Teyvat also can't hurt any reincarnation of First Creator.

So, Teyvat's actions are careful and limited. It can't hurt people, who are after Reader. But, Teyvat can hide Reader, made others stop chasing you because of a bad weather. It can show Reader secret save paths.

Teyvat also can play small 'pranks' on Fake Creator, making them trip, or flooding their Cathedrals and Palace, freeze their gardens.

Hello people! Here's part three of my idea of what if SAGAU [Name] isn't the god who created the world, but instead the world was abandoned by their previous gods and [Name] is the only 'god' who has tried to make the world better.

To make my life easier, I'm going to write the Traveler as being Aether instead of Lumine. I hope that's okay with you guys!

If thirty years ago, you had asked the archons what they thought of outworlder gods, the answers would have been much the same. 

Outworlder gods had no empathy, compassion nor capacity for love towards Teyvat, only sadistic curiosity powered their actions.

The archons knew they wouldn't exist without the Creators. A group of gods who gave Teyvat life, but then left it to run its course. The Creators check in on occasion, changing the world and the land, twisting the stars to move closer or farther and causing many adventures and seafaring folk to get lost. 

Thirty years ago, fifteen years ago,ten years ago, even one hundred years ago, the archons would have repeated that same idea to themselves, that only gods from Teyvat had the ability to care for Teyvats people, but nowadays they aren't so sure.

Venti had met the Traveler, several times in fact, even fought by his side, but the friendship of the Traveler pales in comparison to the feeling of warmth that flows through Venti's body when The Guide experiences strong emotions.

Depending on the emotion, their voice feels different but it has its consistencies, always an echo emanating from the Traveler, the voice is the same, and it's often difficult to hear on a consistent basis.

Venti knew the reason he only heard it when The Guide was being remarkably expressive, he wasn't a main vessel. Aether often laughed at the whispers Venti could only vaguely hear. Venti heard smiles or venom in the wind around Aether, but the words that gave the Traveler a smirk or a laugh were left unheard.

Considering their interactions, Venti knew this outworlder god had compassion, and at first he thought it hard to imagine, after all every other outworlder had simply been using Teyvat for experiments and amusement, it was unlikely things had changed, but Venti only had to listen to the Traveler tell short stories of healed injuries and difficult battles, told to him so the bard could honor Aether's patron with words worthy of a crowd, and the bard realized The Guide wasn't simply playing with their lives, they were building them from the ground up.

He supposed it applied to himself as well. The Guide's influence led the Traveler down several different paths including assisting Venti with his attempts to help Divalin, meaning The Guide had a direct effect on the life he managed to live now, and Venti wasn't surprised. 

The moments where he could hear the God's words, seeping into the air of Teyvat and causing Teyvat to spark to life to reply to it's true master, Venti heard fury during battle, anger in their voice leaving the world alight and feeling their rage as they insulted the enemies in any way they could think of and in some ways that didn't make sense, Venti had also heard after the battle was won, quick muttered apologizes as he's healed and power levels increased.

What more could he ever ask for? Nothing. Venti trusted the compassion of this outworlder, songs and poems and stories fill the tavern as Venti yearns to tell them the patrons all about this merciful god, however he'll keep it to a minimum, he must tell them but no one likes to be preached to, of course, and his careful behavior pays off, his songs become hymns in the church and he'll write more in The Guide's name, once he's done with his drink. 

The Guide did always chuckle at his drinking habits.

Venti wasn't alone in his need to rework his view of the gods Teyvat had once known, and while the other archons have their story, one that is most important, is that of Teyvat itself.

Teyvat remembers, as a land it always has, from its animals remembering where they used to stay, from its people and gods remembering how things used to be.

Teyvat remembers when the Creators built it. They made Teyvat to please, to make others happy, that was its purpose and even to this day, Teyvat serves that purpose and influences its people to do the same.

The Creators, on the other hand, never wanted to please Teyvat, plaguing its land with monsters and humans that hunted down one another, creating people and beings and puppeteering the lives of those who belong to Teyvat towards torture and suffering.

The pain of Teyvat and it's people meant to amuse and intrigue outworlders.

Thirty years ago, Teyvat despised outworlders who never showed their face. Outworlders who change things for their own amusement then leave Teyvat to pick up the pieces, and this outworlder didn't seem to be much better, at least at first.

Teyvat has never held a grudge over the death of some of its children for the safety of its others, but Teyvat had never seen an outworlder with so much care, so much love and kindness, deaths were quick and only fighting for a reason, aiming for a higher level assisted their people, Teyvats children, and that's all this outworlder ever does, assist Teyvat, heal its lands, guide its children or forcibly stop the cruelty from one side to another.

Teyvat doesn't call this outworlder what it's children call them, it's not The Guide, or The Giver, or even a god, Teyvat will call them who and what they are. 

They are an outworlder, they are compassionate, they are Stubborn. They are [Name] and they are Teyvat's new reason for holding itself together.

Teyvat was made to please, the Creators knew what they were doing, Teyvat and its people were made for others.

Teyvat is for [Name]. 

The people will learn why, the people will see why, but just as Teyvat could not stop the influence of the Creators, the people cannot resist the influence of Teyvat.

Mondstat is where it all began, where the Creators spent the of their time, and Teyvat knows it's the perfect place to start out, to begin to bring [Name] to where they belong. Teyvat will warn them, stars and lights flashing and dancing in the sky like never before, the earth itself reaching out to be there when the outworlder makes their appearance, the elements crying out for [Name]. They'll know it's coming.

The plans they have will be for nothing, nothing a human or inhumane body can do can challenge the will of Teyvat. Teyvat knows how [Name] will come, and Teyvat wants it to be now.

I have no clue where this story will go but it's probably going to Teyvat so at least it has that going for it.

i think that the traveler as their own character isn't explored enough in the fandom. there's so much potential for soul-wrenching angst in being separated from your sibling and closest friend and partner whom you have presumably been inseparable from for centuries at LEAST (probably millennia, possibly more if wings of descension are to be taken literally). and then finding out that said person is pretty much the leader of the opposite side of a war. the inherent hurt in that is explored somewhat in canon. xianyun's story quest is a recent example. but i know what the fandom is capable of angst-wise.

even aside from that, the traveler has a personality. a lot of their personality is determined by dialogue choices but they do have their own showing through un-choosable dialogue and single choice dialogue. they're always initially minding only their goal of talking to the Archon to meet their sibling but always ultimately compassionate. collateral world-saving. they're a little snarky towards those they're especially close with (paimon being the main example), and playful in tone with even acquaintances. when they're serious, though, they're serious. they're not that talkative (heizou jokes that paimon is almost like their "voice"). they're incredibly quick to take up new information (conversational speaker of the teyvat language in two months).

the ever so slight differences in either traveler's personality, too. e.g. lumine's "let me take over!" vs aether's "let me at 'em!" and i think that's less because aether is more aggressive and more because he's more fervently protective. he's always been the defensive twin, and that's an "ally at low hp" line. where lumine is the more offense-oriented twin in combat, and is more calm about that (though yes, she obviously still cares), maybe aether... idk, feels like he failed, when his ally gets hurt? the traveler and their sibling are twins who've been together since forever, they're gonna be very similar, but i like the subtle differences they do have.

and THEN there's the abyss sibling. oh the abyss sibling. we only see them in we will be reunited and there's certainly no time for jokes then, but they seem generally just as determined as the traveler just... on the other side. there's obviously still love there, but it's tough love, the kind of love where you trust someone so much that you just leave them alone to come to your side eventually. but as of now, we still don't know who's right. and really? neither does the traveler. they are following their sibling's advice to see the world and find the truth for themself.

About Nahida's information on the Abyss Sibling... Fandango theorizes again!

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR 3.2 ARCHON QUEST'S LORE UTC!!!

A/N: I know I'm taking a break from writing, but I reallyyyy wanted to write this out for you guys!

A quick recount of what Nahida shared with the traveler at the end of the Sumeru archon quest:

The heavenly principals are the Unknown God.

Heavenly principals have been quiet ever since the Khaenri'ah disaster 500 years ago.

Irminsul (Teyvat's world tree) recorded information on the abyss sibling, leading Nahida to think that they are of Teyvat, as Irminsul only records information on beings of Teyvat.

The abyss sibling suddenly appeared in Khaenri'ah, and then they explored the 7 nations of Teyvat.

However, just before their adventure ended, Irminsul's records became "fuzzy".

Someone/something is deliberately hiding the abyss sibling's fate.

Descenders, a term coined by the Fatui, are external beings that do not belong to Teyvat.

The abyss sibling is not classified as a Descender, but the traveler is classified as Teyvat's 4th Descender.

Nahida thinks the 1st Descender is the Heavenly Principals, but the 2nd and 3rd are currently unknown.

How I think this connects to us, the players.

The traveler is probably recognized as a Descender because of us. We of course, are not from Teyvat. Since the abyss sibling has information recorded in Irminsul, and is not classified as a Descender, this probably means that they are originally from Teyvat. And, since twins are born at the same place at about the same time, it is reasonable to assume that both the siblings are from Teyvat. However, this may or may not be true, as the traveler remembers traveling many worlds with their sibling. Although, these memories could be false. Anyways, the traveler has a different classification from their sibling, which probably links to us, the players. We were there since the moment they began their journey, exploring Teyvat in their body. We are probably the reason for their classification as a Descender, because if you really think about it, we've never truly left their body. All cannon interactions with NPCs and any kind of quest are done through the Traveler's body. So, it would make sense that as we are perceived as the traveler, the traveler is also perceived as us. This also makes sense because we choose the name of the traveler. So, the Fatui are not labeling the traveler as the Descender, but instead they are labeling us, the real outsiders, as the 4th Descender.

My thoughts on why we met both siblings in the very beginning of the game

Now, mentioned in the top section, Nahida said that someone was "deliberately hiding" the abyss sibling's fate. I think that this person, or this thing is the Heavenly Principals. In the opening scene of Genshin Impact, Aether and Lumine are attempting to leave Teyvat, most likely because they found out the "truth" of the world. By which I mean, the "truth" behind Celestia. Since the Heavenly Principals are labeled as the 1st Descender, and since they are related to Celestia, I think that Celestia was actually not from Teyvat to begin with at all. This would explain why the archons seem to dislike or even hate Celestia. Celestia must've came from another world, and decided to take over Teyvat, quite literally. As of now, they are considered the highest authority in Teyvat, above even the archons. It is still not known who was in power before Celestia, but it would make sense that the highest authority before Celestia would be the Primordial One, the literal creator of life on Teyvat. (You can read more on the Primordial One in the Byakuyakoku Collection book in game) Anyways, as the twins were stopped by the Heavenly Principals, and for some reason, we were there to "save" a twin of our choice. I think they were trying to leave Teyvat to either look for help outside of Teyvat, or to attract the attention of us players. After choosing a twin, the abyss sibling adventures throughout the 7 nations, all our twin is deep asleep. Before the abyss sibling's adventure is complete, their records in Irminsul are blurred out. My guess is that near the end of their journey, the abyss sibling found information about Celestia, information that either proves that they are the enemy, or information on how to ultimately defeat them.

Now, I'm just left with one burning question...

Who the heck is Paimon, and how does she connect to this???

Okayokay- so there are these twins, Lumine n Aether, the game kinda lets yu pick which twin you want, but for simplicity sakes m gonna use Aether as the MC.

The twins r interstellar travelers, meanin they travel through different worlds together. They reach Teyvat n try to leave, but an Unknown God doesn't let em and separate the twins.

Fast forward 500 years, Aether wakes up n fishes this weird floating creature (that looks oddly similar to the Unknown God, very suspicious) out of the ocean. Her name is Paimon, and she decides to be Aether's (everyone calls him Traveler) guide and help him find his sister.

They make it t' Mondstat, a place based on Germany to see if she's (Lumine) there, and to meet the God of freedom, Barbatos. They don't, but they solve the storms that were reigning over due to Barbatos' (or Venti since that's the name he disguises himself under) pet dragon getting corrupted by the Abyss Order (remember that name beaches they're very important).

We learn that all Archons have this silly little chess piece looking thing called a Gnosis, which connects them to Celestia (basically kinda like Genshin's version of heaven, it's where the heavenly principles stays, she's Genshin's version of God). The Cryo (Ice) archon wants all the Gnosis' to overthrow the heavenly principles (if my lore knowledge s servin me correctly!!)

Traveler n Paimon decide to visit all the nations to ask the archon's if they know where Lumine went. The entire journey is pretty much same old same old until they meet Dainsleif.

Dansleif is the Twilight Sword (tip top Military man !!) who lived in a nation called Khaenri'ah. Dainsleif reveals that he was close go Lumine, and after the destruction of his home nation (The heavenly principles & the archons did because Khaenri'ah was a nation without a God, and they were gettin too advanced for their own good) they traveled together until Lumine got into contact with the Abyss Order, and became the Abyss Princess.

She tells Aether that the world of Teyvat isn't a nice/safe space, and that she'll find him when she's taken over Celestia. That he's come too late, and that they've always had enough time.

He continues searching through Teyvat with Paimon, saving nations and talking to Archon's who don't tell him even the finest bit of information about his sister, until they reach Sumeru.

[For base knowledge, the known Archons are: Barbatos (Venti), God of freedom. Morax (Zhongli), God of contracts/commerce. Beelzebul (Raiden Ei), God of Eternity. Greater Lord Rukkhadevata (Sumeru's old God, who is dead during the current timeline of Genshin)/ Lesser Lord Kusanali (Nahida), God of wisdom. And Focalors (Furina), God of Justice.]

Nahida tells the traveler that Lumine is a part of Irminsul (basically government files) and that she belongs to Teyvat, which shouldn't be possible because Aether isn't a part of Irminsul, and they got to Teyvat the same way/time.

Nothing has been said about Lumine in Fontaine (the newest reigon) so that's basically it.
