𓃶 Hearth Magic 101
⛤ Please note!!! this post will contain my personal gnosis at some points. Magic is intimately personal and everyone’s practice is different. You may agree or disagree with me at any point during this post. However, while I am sharing this to be educational, please keep in mind that this is my personal outlook on this subject ♡
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 What Is Hearth Magic?
Hearth Magic, at its core, is magic of the home. This kind of magic differs greatly between families, cultures and traditions. When starting Hearth Magic, you must take a moment to really think about what home is to you. Your hearth can be anywhere, but generally, the hearth is seen as a place of comfort, growth, and rest.
Taking care of your home has always been important and even sacred for many people. Taking care of it magically is just another way of respecting this place that takes care of you. Your home is somewhere that protects you and those you invite in. Personally, Hearth Magic is almost like showing your gratitude to this familiar place. I would suggest doing research into how the home is taken care of in your own cultures, or watch how others in your life take care of their home and take notes!
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 How can I Practice Hearth Magic?
Just like any kind of magic, Hearth Magic will be something you incorporate into your practice in your own ways. To get started, however, here are some things you can do to:
⛤ Get into the habit of cleansing your space. This can be your whole home, or just the one specific place you consider the hearth (a bedroom, living space, kitchen, fireplace etc). You can also cleanse while doing day to day chores! incorporate moon water or intention while washing dishes, or do an herb sweep when cleaning your floors. Brooms are also important magical tools!
⛤ Try a house or home blessing/spell. For me, I made a large spell jar and incorporated ingredients commonly used in my family’s cooking, our yard, and local herbs/herbs we use a lot. This can be used as an invitation for positive energy, or a ward against negativity. This will really help set the energy of the space.
⛤ Start incorporating magic into your cooking. Kitchen magic is an easy and convenient way to keep your life a little more magical. Try adding herbs to sauces with intention, or cook in honor of spirits or deities. Easy foods to incorporate kitchen magic into (at least personally!) include sauces, soups, baked goods, and pasta dishes.
⛤ Start to decorate your home in a way that makes you happy. This doesn’t have to be any specific aesthetic; just making your space somewhere you enjoy being through decor adds to the energy!
⛤ If you like spirit work, consider the possibility that, if you live in a house, there may be a house spirit attached to the space. This can give you an extra opportunity to connect to this space and the spirits within it by honoring this entity.
☾༺♰༻☽
⛤ In all, Hearth Magic can be a very grounding and important part of your magical path if you plan to practice it. It allows you to really grow in a familiar and comfortable space, as well as providing you with a comfortable place to come back to every day, even for mundane life. ♡

Someone had piled stones in a local river, and it felt primal in the magic kind of way. I thought it was really beautiful.

hey folks, seems the lovely JoS asks are making their rounds again. so, friendly reminder: don't engage, they just want to boost their SEO and get more traffic to their website.
it's all bait, and i promise you, it's not worth your time/energy to answer any asks you receive that mention JoS.

Intermediate Kitchen Witchcraft: Nutrition
The ideas of nutrition and healthy eating have been corrupted by the diet industry. Auntie says fuck that. Think of nutrition as a matter of nutrients. Don’t take, don’t deprive. Add to your body!
For intermediate witchcraft, think of things as macronutrients (big) and micronutrients (small). A macronutrient is what your body uses the most of, while a micronutrient is what your body uses a smaller amount of.
Macronutrients are: protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Your body needs all three of them - yes, even fat and carbs. Fuck what the diet industry told you and listen to Auntie: it is not only ok to eat fat and carbs, it is actively a good thing.
Micronutrients are: vitamins and minerals. Your body is a gloriously complex, divine structure that requires a steady supply of the Earth’s bounty to thrive. You can use these amazing things She has given us to improve your body and your mind. Use what She gives you!
Let’s take a look at some common magical ingredients and the micronutrients they give you! This will help provide you with a greater understanding of how to use them to craft your kitchen spells. Magical properties are purple, practical are pink.
Cinnamon: Healing, protection, warmth, love, prosperity. Vitamins A, B, C, K; calcium; magnesium; potassium; phosphorus. Useful in lowering blood pressure, high in antioxidants, can improve insulin sensitivity, protects against heart disease, powerful anti-inflammatory. Connect the practical value to the magical value. What do you think corresponds? The one that jumps out to me is love corresponding to heart health.
Lemons: Purification, cleansing, joy. Extremely high in Vitamin C; fiber; B6; potassium. Lowers your risk of kidney stones, antiseptic properties, big immune booster. Once again, compare the practical and magical uses. I see vitamin B6 connecting to joy - B vitamins are known to improve stress responses.
Arugula: Attraction, abundance, sex magic, psychic powers. Potassium, calcium, folate; vitamins B, C, D, K, and A. Calcium & vitamin D work together for bone health; eye health; high in antioxidants; improves iron absorption; contains many elements shown to reduce cancer risks. I see a connection in iron absorption and sex magic.
Now, while these are a very direct nutrient-to-association correlation, we do also need to remember that there are other factors. Taste is a huge factor in kitchen magic! Cinnamon associates to a warm disposition; cinnamon is a hot food. Lemons are a sunny food. Arugula is easy to grow, therefore it is abundant.
Homework:
Comment below with your connections on the ingredients listed above. OR
Choose your favorite magical ingredient and reblog it with an analysis of how its magical properties correlate to its practical properties. Feel free to delve into some of the other connections too!

I’m learning a lot about folk witchcraft and I wanted to share something that I loved:
Apparently, many years ago in some regions of Spain, if someone wanted to marry someone but they’re families wouldn’t approve it, the lovers would go into a forest and hold hands underneath two trees with intertwined branches so that they would be together forever. This meant that the spirits (of the forest, the trees and herbs…) that officiated at the “wedding” were much more powerful than the civil laws and the church.
The forests are keepers of secrets, they’ve seen and they know a lot. I love the fact that although the church had a strong influence, people used to go to a lonely path or a crossroad to bury something they wanted to get rid of, that lovers used to confess their undying love hiding in the woods, that these were really good places to leave some offerings for deities or spirits… That even nowadays you can feel surrounded even when you’re alone and you can only hear the wind and the birds.

🎨🕯️Art Magic: Flameless Spell Candle
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Use an LED tealight or pillar candle and wrap with decorative papers. Use color and other correspondences and enchant your tools as you work! Attach personally meaningful enchanted symbols, charms, confettis, crystals, petitions, and whatever else your heart desires! No fire safety needed here kids (except hot glue gun=hot). Build up intention related to your spell's result and release it into the candle when you're done❤️‍🔥
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or make suggestions!

What I really love about embroidery as part of a ritual, is because you send a lot of time focused on the symbols you are embroiding. It really feels like you are emoting a lot.
Plus I actually find embroidery calming, and it looks really cool. Crafting is also considered magic, so a lot of energy there.

🌙 Low Energy Witchy Self-Care 🌙
Hello darlings 🥰
If you're feeling low on energy but still want to nourish your witchy spirit, here are some gentle self-care practices that are perfect for those low-energy days:
1️⃣ Mindful Breathing: Take a few moments to focus on your breath. Inhale deeply, exhale slowly, and feel the calming energy flow through you. This simple practice can help ground and center your energy.
2️⃣ Candle Gazing: Light a candle and sit quietly, observing the dancing flame. Allow its gentle flicker to soothe your mind and bring a sense of peace and serenity to your space.
3️⃣ Crystal Meditation: Hold a comforting crystal in your hands and take a few moments to connect with its energy. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and allow the crystal's energy to wash over you, bringing comfort and healing.
4️⃣ Herbal Tea Ritual: Brew a warm cup of herbal tea and savor each sip mindfully. Choose a tea blend that resonates with your needs, such as chamomile for relaxation, lavender for calm, or peppermint for revitalization.
5️⃣ Affirmation Practice: Repeat positive affirmations to yourself, either silently or out loud. Choose affirmations that align with your intentions and bring a sense of empowerment and self-love.
6️⃣ Journal Reflection: Grab your journal and spend a few moments reflecting on your thoughts and emotions. Write freely, allowing your pen to flow and release any tension or worries that may be weighing you down.
7️⃣ Nature Connection: Step outside and connect with the natural world around you. Take a gentle stroll, sit under a tree, or simply observe the beauty of your surroundings. Let nature's calming presence rejuvenate your spirit.
8️⃣ Gentle Stretching: Engage in gentle stretching or yoga poses that promote relaxation and release any physical tension. Move with intention and focus on the sensation of your body as it moves and stretches.
