Shattered Hearts

A/N: I can barely bring myself to write these days. But I stumbled upon old screenshots from my Tolkien discord server. Been crying none stop from missing these memories so uh... here you go @erosofthepen @midearthwritings @messiambrandybuck @wishingtobeinadifferentuniverse and ofc Hart who has since left tumblr... love you guys

It was sharp and painful; like a dagger straight through his Heart. Days felt dragged on, as if the sun was mocking him- forcing him to remember how you once shined as bright as the sun.

Despite the suns heat on his skin, Kili's shattered heart felt as ice cold as ever. Like a stormy, winter night seeping through the cracks, threatening to cave in his sanity.

Every day was the same; wake up with your side empty, eating breakfast by himself, training by himself.

Kili felt old and slow. His head has been so foggy these last two years without you. Mother is scared, Uncle is worried and Fili... hasnt been seen in weeks.

He can't go back. He refuses to enter Erebor again... how could he? There's nothing left of his heart, so what's the point?

Fili lost everything that day. There was nothing he could have done except watch. Watch you writhe in pain, crying and begging for it to stop.

All he could do was hold you tight, his own tears painting his cheeks as you slowly and painfully passed.

How did it end up like this? Everything was perfect. Erebor was taken back, his family was back together, and the love of his life was by his side. The constant laughter in the halls were gone, nothing left but silence and whispers about the dwarf prince.

No, he can't go back... he'll continue down this gravel path, planting his shattered heart within the forests you loved so much.

Blood. Everyday he comes home from the wilds, covered in new injuries and blood. Each time, carrying a new baby animal.

He hopes that, if he saved them- perhaps he could save you. Perhaps the Valar would stop the punishment if he fixed his past wrongs.

A punishment. That's how he views it. They took you away from him because of his rough past. You're alive. You have to be alive. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring you back home.

His heart is shattered, but by mahal, he'll do what it takes to bring you back even if it means laying down his life.

He's gone...

When the love of his life was ripped away from him, he took to drinking. Hoping that perhaps, If he disappeared, he'd see you again.

It didn't take long...

A week, a week of drinking everyday, multiple ales in one sitting. A week is all it took for his body to give up.

He was unrecognizable...

His hair unkempt and tangled, beads holding on for dear life has his hair thinned from health issues. Clothes stained with ale and spit, clinging to his skin as he sweated.

There was no hope...

No hope for him, no hope for you. There was nothing left for him. He was alone. Alone with his shattered heart till his last breath.

The day you disappeared, was the day you took his entire being with you.

He didn't cry. He didn't yell and throw things. He... did nothing but stare.

There was nothing left of him. A mere shell of a once sweet dwarf.

Ori couldn't bring himself to eat, sleep or anything to keep him alive. He never moved from his armchair except for a twitch. A twitch as though he was listening to an angelic voice.

But there were no voices...

Just him... alone with a shattered heart, and voices in his head.

thorin isn’t insecure in the slightest — you’re tall? taller than him? he’s probably too busy swooning to care, let’s be real

you can lean on his shoulder whenever you like. pros: 10/10 he’s very sturdy and will not fall over. cons: he might start blushing

his oversized cloaks — you know the fluffy fur ones? — yeah, they fit you. he won’t hesitate to lend you them when you’re cold, or when he’s going somewhere, or whenever else he thinks you could do with one. he can be incredibly generous and his cloaks can be incredibly comfy

he’ll also wear your loose clothes around when he’s got nothing to do and no places to be

I mean he doesn’t normally like having to look up at people but you’re special so it doesn’t count. he loves seeing you when you’re happy (his eyes really light up when you’re smiling, he won’t even try to hide it)

if he ever was bothered (he is used to being tall, for a dwarf) then he’d maybe... try getting some taller heels? subtle ones. just to give him a slight advantage without being conspicuous. this man is a trainwreck so you’d figure it out within a week and start dropping hints to him that you love his normal height

at which point he’d do a 180 and go back to being his typically proud self, nothing can keep him down for long

either way it will NOT stop him from trying to be the big spoon

You grinned, nuzzling against Peter’s chest as a sigh slipped past your lips.

With his arm wrapped tightly around your waist, Peter turned to look at you, only to find you looking at him. His cheeks went a dusty pink while the corners of his lips were pulled into a smile.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” The boy asked, smiling in a cute little way that made his nose scrunch up.

You quietly laughed, lying your head against his chest whilst Peter tugged the blanket up to your chest to ensure your warmth.

”Just ‘cause. Your face is cute.” You grinned, looking up to press a kiss beneath Peter’s unbelievably sharp jawline.

Peter laughed, cheeks redder than the suit he wore. He looked like he was about to give you some smart remark until the doorbell rang. May was out and about, so you deemed yourself the official door answerer until she returned.

“Probably the Chinese food.” You huffed, tossing the blanket aside while he followed you to the door.

Peter wandered into the kitchen and grabbed a fork since he was incapable of using chopsticks.

Meanwhile, you opened the door, finding that this was, in fact, the takeout guy.

“Hi!” You smiled at him, pulling a twenty out of your pocket to pay for the food while the guy, no older than nineteen, handed you the bag.

The guy, Daniel, if you read his name tag correctly, nodded in reply, quickly returning your smile.

”All this food‘s for you?“ He asked, taking a couple of steps towards you with flirtatiously raised brows.

Slightly offended and fairly uncomfortable, you chuckled and shook your head while you spoke. “Actually, I-“ You started, taking a few steps backwards, only to bump into Peter, who was now behind you. “It’s for us, thanks.” Peter stated, protectively slipping an arm around your waist with a friendly get-away-from-my-girlfriend-or-I’ll-slap-you-senseless smile.

“The boyfriend, I’m assuming?” Daniel asked, giving Peter a passive aggressive once over.

Peter stared right back at the guy, pulling you closer to his side. “Yes, I am.” He answered, glaring at the boy, which seemed to thoroughly piss the guy off.

This time, Peter gave the boy a genuine smile. “Problem?”

You snickered, turning to look at Peter with a thankful expression. Daniel, seeming to have taken the hint, nodded and spun on his heel to leave.

Peter hummed, not quite letting you go until the boy was far out of sight. You relaxed under Peter’s hold, taking a breath to steady yourself.

Peter pulled you inside, shutting and locking the door while you walked back over to the couch. You plopped down on the seat, rummaging through the bag for your food.

Once he had napkins, your drinks, and his fork, Peter strode over to sit next to you, huffing softly.

“Thanks for saving me, Spidey.” You hummed, pressing a kiss to your boyfriend’s now reddened cheeks.

Peter grinned, looking away to hide the fact that he was blushing. He reached for your hand and intertwined your fingers, pressing a quick kiss to your hand.

Once his blush dissipated a bit, Peter spoke up to reply. “Don’t mention it.”

You hummed, handing him his food while you settled in, playing the movie once Peter did the same.

After finishing your food, you laid against Peter’s chest just like you’d done earlier, his arms around you. You felt your eyes droop, though you fought to keep them open.

You turned your head to sneak a glance at Peter, only to find that he was asleep. You pressed a kiss to Peter’s jaw and relaxed, shutting your eyes to go to sleep.

In that moment you realized just how much you’d grown to love Peter within the past year. He was kind, strong, an absolute goofball, loyal to a fault, and most importantly, yours.

And after tonight, you had the courage to tell him. Just before you passed out, you opened your mouth to utter four words.

“I love you, Pete.”

Even after you fell asleep, Peter was still grinning like an idiot.

He gently lifted you up, happily carrying you to his bed. He pulled back the covers and laid you on the small twin, covering you up with a kiss to your cheek.

“I love you too, Y/n”

“Stop moving and let me braid your hair!” Aeri exclaimed.

Aragorn, sitting on the ground in front of her, shifted again. “I really don’t see why the braids are necessary, my love.”

Aeri internally blushed at the nickname before starting to separate his hair into parts. “Braids keep the hair out of your face! Also, you look really hot in braids.”

“Aeri!” Aragorn exclaimed.

She shrugged. “You know it’s true! And we’re betrothed, so I can say that.”

Aragorn nodded, “Tr-”

“Keep still!” Aeri interrupted him.

He sighed, then stopped moving. “Anyways, as I was saying, true, you can say that. But if you say it in front of Legolas or Faramir they’ll start saying it and then I’ll forever be known as King Aragorn, the One Who Looked Hot In Braids.”

Aeri laughed. “Not a bad title, all things considered.”

“It would be a horrible title!!”

She shrugged. “Nah. Not really. Perhaps I should get it carved on your tombstone?”

Aragorn reached up to playfully swat her.” NO! Do not get it carved on my tombstone!”

Aeri shrugged. “Fine, your loss.” She stood, stretching, and motioned for Aragorn to check out her work in the mirror.

Aragorn stood, walking over to the mirror and gazing at his reflection.

“Wow! I really do look hot in braids!”

11. How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc)

OMG that kind of questions always catches me off guards lmao *okay I've been thinking for like 30 minutes I still can't get with the answer for that ahahahahah* I guess my style is pretty emotion-driven and emotion-inserting, as I always try to make readers get in the right mood and to feel themself in the character's shoes? I always try to play with the environment and the whole situation, not only with characters' mood and thoughts, cause these two can't be separated. As I said in one of the previous asks, for me the environment in wich the story goes is the half of the story itself, it can't be the same story if the environment is different, the mood of surrandings is different etc. I hope I made it clear lmao

24. Do you prefer AUs with the characters, or sticking to the original universe?

If I understand this one right, stricking to the original universe. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Modern AUs, different universes AUs etc. Though, i find it amusing to read some headcanons about it, or about character and someone from the different fiction story. Thouth I love a bit of AU in the original settings (like, i made Boromir live through the whole War og the Ring, right? But the whole setting is the same, save for Boromir's fate)

28. Is there a part of [Fanfic Name] you’re surprised no one has picked up on yet?
