I've been going through the Cursed Au masterpost again, in search of something, and...

Do you remember the doodles you labeled as "Just regular days" in the masterposts "Part 2" section? Becouse-

Considering these doodles are placed AFTER season 4, Cursed AU Mk seems to be handeling the "I can turn into a monkey now!" -thing way better than his canon counterpart xD And that despite technically having even more trauma connected to his monkey form than canon!Mk, considering the howl "cursed circlet" incident in the begining of the AU!

macaque, after their youth together and being used to wukong’s muscular frame, is floored in a good way when he sees wukong’s dad-bod. he’s still muscular, but paired with the fat of consistent good food and getting support.

macaque in general is iffy with touch, but there’s nothing he wants more than to cuddle up to wukong and use him as a warm, breathing pillow.

anyways characters gaining weight to show that they’re happier and loved while still being considered attractive >>>

bonus points if macaque is under-nourished and underweight and lost some of his muscle so the two of them are both navigating their newer and older bodies together

I also headcanon Macaque as being just skin and bones so just imagining Wukong and MK (and Pigsy too, let's face it) trying to feed him more is so funny and wholesome and exactly the cure to my depression

Random thought hour! (I really need to get my friend to catch up to season 4, so I don't have to keep anoying you with my random late-night thoughts/conspiracies xD)

I was making a "mood board" with Wukongs different outfits during the seasons, to get inspiration for my AU re-designs, and there was this one thing thst stood out to me!

So you know how Macaque wears a red scarf-cape-thing? Similar to the one Monkie King wears?

I've seen a view fan interpretations that go the direction of Macaque wearing that scarf to mimic Wukong, or becouse it was originaly Wukongs/a gift from Wukong.

Here is the interesting thing I noticed! (And yes, I'm overthinking this! It's late, I'm tired xD)

Red scarfs, aren't Wukongs thing!

I only really noticed it when putting all his designs next to each other, but every time Wukong wears "casual" clothes, he does not wear a red scarf. He wear a teal/greenish-blue one.

He wears a teal one in the pre-journey flashbacks, as well as during the entire trip to collect the Samadhi Fire rings in season 3. When he didn't wear the teal scarf, he wore a hoody with teal on his sleves. Even the armore he wore to fight LBD, had teal color on it's breast plate mimicing the shape of the neck scarf he wore.

The only time Wukong wears a read scarf, is when he is in his usual "king outfit" (something he started wearing after the journey), and during the end scene of season 3's last special.

But you know who wears red scarfs? And ONLY red scarf? Macaque.

Both in the past and present. Always red. Even under LBD's controle.

Red scarfs are Macaques thing, not Wukongs.

So that made me think: sure, the red of Monkey Kings scarf could just be becouse it's a "royal" color, and red capes are a hero thing, but the more interesting idea to me is:

"maybe he's wearing a red scarf becouse Macaque used to wear red."

He killed him, after all. And he is clearly feeling guilty about that. And it wouldn't be the first time I see an animated show do the symbolic thing of having a character wear a signature piece of clothing/accessory (or an imitation of one) from someone who was important to them and passed away. You know, things like necklacess, rings, jackets...scarfs.

(Do with this random thought process of mine whatever you want xD I just wanted to ramble about it to someone >:3 )

What does Macaque think about Wukong's height? (adorable!!!) Oh and also we saw the progress of Macaque letting glamors down, but does Wukong? And what are your hcs? Asking cuz I know things have changed!

I think Macaque likes that Wukong is short just so he can make short-person jokes or use him to just rest his arms over the other's head.

I don't think Wukong ever puts his glamour down unless it's in dire circumstances. At most, he might lift the one that covers his fur and eye colors. The few scars that he does have he never covers them to begin with except for the one around his head

Kurei which means crimson, the color of some clay and a type/shade of red

And, Haniwa which refers to clay sculptures typically buried with the dead

One where the og ones, here's a new one tho. Minori which refers to fruit trees/plants and Hinori whoch(if I rmember correct,) means Sunset

as a therapist in training looking at macaque, I’d try and gauge his willingness to willingly open up, and if not I’d treat him like a teen with a terminal case of angst.

I’d distract him, give him something to do, let him lead the conversation by asking open questions.

It isn't one of my best (that title still goes to "Blood of Gold", in my humble opinion~) but I tried xD

Now, let me throw a random idea at you that has been stuck in my head for the last...three or so days!

So, remember this little throw away line from the first chapter of "Blood of Gold"?

It was a nood to THIS POST of yours that, to my knowledge, never made it into the Cursed AU canon (at least I couldn't find it in the Masterpost-) but featured the idea of Macaque starting to randomly throw food at the twins when he noticed they can't cook.

Now, stick with me here! We are going to take a sharp turn here in a completely different direction xD

Can we all agree that Pigsys love language, to show he cares, is food? Becouse the pig ain't that great with voicing his feelings (just like a certain black monkey-), so instead he goes by "actions speak louder than words" and coocks to show he cares? Let's continue with that thought/idea in mind!

Back to Macaque!

Remember how we shortly talked about that, after really fucking things up in "Breaking Point", Macaque would go to Nuwa for help, to fix things with the twins and Mei, and she would just tell him to go ask Pigsy?

Go back to that idea of Macaque throwing food at the twins that never made it into the masterpost!

What if we recycle that idea?!

-after "Breaking Point", Macaque asks Nuwa for help

-Nuwa directs him to Pigsy

-Pigsy, after noticing that the monkey won't be able to just apologize to the kids directly, gives him a tip out of his own book: that actions sometimes speak louder than words. And food can do wonders in showing that you care

-cue maybe a smal intervention lead by Mei a view days later where Macaque says he won't throw the twins out ("becouse finding replacements would be a bother"-he claims) and:

-next thing you know, Mac is throwing food at the twins at random ocations. An apple that apears on the table out of nowhere here... a hand full of plumbs that suddenly drops from the sky there...a mango to the face becouse no one was quick enough to catch it-

Macaque is now trying to bribe the twins with food to apologize/get in their good grazes again!

(Sorry you had to sit through my ramblings about this random idea xD I'm tired, and my brain has been trying to find ways to bridge the gap between "Music Box" and "Blood of Gold", and than I remembered that post I linked above, and I couldn't stop thinking about it since xD)

Oh, I remember that! Yeah, I assumed that line was a callback to that specific ask XD

And that whole situation kinda falls under the category of "Technically speaking it is canon, but it's not in the masterpost because I wouldn't know where to put it timeline wise"

But moving this idea to be something Pigsy suggested? It's great. Fits the characters involved, fits the very messy timeline I have, and keeps some of that stupid comedy that I can't resist

Now, how long do you think it's gonna take for Macaque to remember that, while the twins can eat pretty much anything, they are onis and their favorite food is metal?

In your Actor AU, who’s most likely to know sign language and sign with a deaf fan? Am I asking because the latest Helluva Boss episode broke me in more ways than I can count? Yes. Am I ashamed? No.

I SAW!

I got so excited when I got to that scene because I am learning ASL and I could actually understand a good chunk of what was being signed (there were a few words that I didn't see before, like "clown" and "fan")

But for the AU, uhm... I think Wukong and Macaque would both know it.

Wukong because he lived for so long he might as well learn how to sign.

And Macaque because his whole thing is listening, so I assume he would also know how to read lips and sign for people who are deaf.

Maybe Mayor also knows how to sign, I doubt Bai He was the first kid he had to be the guardian of so he might had to learn how to sign at some point.

Nazha (the actor, not the god) also strikes me as someone who would have learned how to sign
