Daminette December 2023: 19-Window to the Soul

Marinette had gotten use to her new nickname: Bluebell. It had been given to her by a classmate at Gotham Academy, Damian Wayne.

It was a surprise to her when he handed her flowers. She could only stare at them in confusion.

'Was there something special today? Is it a holiday here in the United States? I didn't get him anything!'

She looked up and saw him smiling at her.

"What?" Mari asked, confused.

"I was correct in my assumptions." Damian declared.

"Huh?" she continued.

"They match your eyes; bluebells." The Wayne heir stated, making her blush, "These bluebells represent unchanging love and honesty. I can see that when I look in your eyes."

Marinette could feel herself turning bright red.

"They say the eyes are the windows to the soul." Damian spoke, "Yours shine bright."

Mari smiled, "Do you know what I see in your eyes?"

Damian gulped, worried she would see his past.

"I see conflict." Marinette declared.

Damian nodded, understanding. Marinette reached out and touched his hand, lightly. The Wayne heir looked back up to see those bluebell eyes that somehow brought him comfort

"I also see kindness." She smiled.

"Would you accompany me in getting lunch today?" he asked.

"I'd love to." Marinette answered, clutching the bluebells to her chest.
