Tentative Devotee AU (TBC Soon)

Leonardo is a Foot trainee, raised and trained by Lieutenant and Brute since he was 9. Life before then is fuzzy at best. — In the past several months, he's been going on his first proper missions, quickly aware of a persistent threat against the Foot Clan: 3 mutant turtles and a human who've foiled them time and time again.

What he wasn't aware of was that they were 4 siblings who never gave up on finding their missing brother.

CONTENT WARNING! This AU will explore: Mourning of family / Mourning of a child (who isn't actually dead, but believed to be). Violence is canon-typical up to the standards of the movie— That is also a reference point for the tone of this AU. There will be cult themes and dips into the topic of cult trauma, alongside family issues.

I didn't intend for this AU to be that big, but I realized I did want to give this a go and make at least something. It's my goal to finish this project eventually.

The AU will be told in segments, comics of various points of the story.

Bonus! Miscellaneous info that doesn't play big into this AU but matters enough to me:

Leonardo is transmasculine, uses he/they/xe pronouns and is referred to with primarily masculine terms.

A version of Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo comics exists and it's Leo's second favorite comic series in this AU.

'Tentative Devotee' is the name of the fanfic I was originally going to write. It was just gonna be a 2-shot fic and a way to navigate some feelings as someone who was born and raised in, and eventually left, a cult.

The initial tone/direction of this AU was much different, Leo ending up in the Foot Clan under different circumstance (i.e. direct kidnapping from Lieutenant and Brute). I found this didn't quite work for me.

Threads of You: Beyond the Bay 🌊 Monthly Devlog #2: November 30th, 2023

Yet another month, another devlog... Hey, everyone! 🎉 Welcome to the mass post for all things Threads of You: Beyond the Bay, where we spill the beans on what's been brewing... behind the scenes.

This month has been a whirlwind as we inch closer to the big reveal of our demo! Crunch time has hit, and the Lavendeer team has been putting in extra hours. How about a virtual pat on the back for our hard work? 🙌

But, hey, enough about that. Let's dive right in! ✨

Programming wise, it's been busy this month! Relationship modifiers, arguably one of the most important things in a romance otome game, between the MC (You) and the characters were successfully implemented.

Alongside that, we've refined our scenes with proper animations to both our characters and UI to make it flow smoother and look pleasing to the eyes! It should also easier to navigate.

On the aesthetic front, our commissioned GUI is now not only complete, but seamlessly integrated into the game! Huge thanks to @sitraxis! We've shown a couple of sneak peeks, but look forward to more now that our key art made by Somate Studio is finished! Big thanks to them as well, we can't wait to show you guys how it looks!

The character customization progress has also undergone a significant overhaul. With a keen focus on every one of our players getting the representation they deserve, we've decided to add more options! Down to more skin tones (including albinism/vitiligo) to even adding religious wear and fashion styles. Feel free to send suggestions under this Twitter post!

Last but certainly not least, the programming team (it's just Lumi) has implemented a series of choices which can further personalize the main character and will reflect in-game (such as height or education)!

Our art team has also achieved a significant amount of milestones as well! The car interior/exterior BG art is now a finished masterpiece thanks to chuupew, Lumi, and newcomer, Jin!

BG art of the Hostel and its interior is currently a WIP, but we are expecting its completion pretty soon. All character sprites have been finished and 6/7 have been posted to all of our socials! Glad you guys are loving them. Huge thanks to @134340zzz and chuupew!

We have one more CG in the works as well! Keep an eye out for that~

Our commissioned keychains and standee designs have also been finished! Big thanks to mochibunny & Luii Lafete! The designs were made for Kickstarter, but Kickstarter's been sort of an issue for us recently... so we'll keep you updated with what we decide to do with these newly made designs.

Fun fact! Our character release sheets were actually inspired by my (siilycat/ai) scuffed Apple notes drawings. I was not home, but I still wanted to share my ~~artistic~~ vision SOMEHOW and I'm glad I did so through my notes app! (I am the only one on the team with no artistic talent whatsoever, but they turned it into something great!)

Who let me cook?

After further inspection, we realized how... lifeless and subpar some of the writing feels. So we have decided to revisit it and put life into an otherwise mediocre script.

Writing is pretty important in a visual NOVEL and we don't want to disappoint the people who play it. Hope you guys enjoy the new, revised script. We also had a concerning amount of... grammatical errors relating to past/present tense.

We also added more descriptive sections based on the player's choices which is always fun!

This has been a HUGE month for social media, most especially over on Twitter! We released 6/7 of our characters and VAs were announced! In case you missed it, here are the posts announcing the characters!

Besides that, we have also started working on the itch.io and kickstarter page! Speaking of kickstarter, we're having issues with it so we're thinking of approaching a couple of publishers... Any suggestions or advice? Hit us up on Twitter!

Our plans for the next month include things like revealing our beautiful key art and final character, holding a raffle to celebrate the support we've gotten, finishing character customization and character expressions, and implementing a unique OST for the demo!

Commissioning music as a person who doesn't know anything about music is a really hard thing to do by the way. Shoutout to our composer, Ben Sigerson for putting up with my bullshit and going COMPLETELY based off of vibes. It's genuinely really good music and we're really low on budget so we thank him for all that he's done.

We really can't wait for you guys to see what we've been cookin' up for the past year. Also, stay on the lookout for an in character q&a soon!

I've decided to do NanoWriMo for the very first time. I thought about it, like a million years ago, but have never attempted it.

This year, I looked at the rules to see if you could continue an ongoing WIP, and that seems to be fair game now, so I'm gonna use this time to (try) and finish the Steddie fic I'm working on. I'll be NaNo Rebel. I don't mind.

I don't actually know if it will require 50,000 more words. But at least working towards fleshing it all out, and maybe even finishing it, will be the goal for the month.

I made myself a spreadsheet. It's pretty basic, but I like data. (I once took up running just because I liked the data of it. Don't ask, lol.)

If anyone else wants it to use it, it's located here, and it is for Google Sheets. It is only for a goal of 50,000 words. Since I made it for me, I didn't think to build it around changing to a different goal. Sorry!

It was designed for me to just glance at the current Word Count in my Google doc at the end of the day, and plug that into the C Column. If you use multiple docs, or something else, this might not work for you as easily.

You'll need to go to File>Make a Copy before you'll be able to edit it. You'll only need to enter numbers in C Column every day. Everything else will populate. And if you're going rogue like me, just put your current starting word count as of Nov 1st in B2 instead of 0, and everything else will shift to get you to 50,000 new words at the end of the month. (Doing that will make it look to be in the negative until you enter the first day's end word count in C2.)

Rough WIP from March 17th, 2024

I've been toying for a while with how to make some of the designs for the many bird constellations more distinct in Starglass Zodiac, and I think going the harpy route for some of them may work, so I tried it with Grus here

idk what his body and clothing are doing and there's a lot going on on his head right now but I'll figure it out. I'm coming back from a 3-day depressive episode so I gotta start somewhere, you know?

I like where this is going at least, I'm not sure if I'll actually finish this particular drawing or just use it as a springboard for his design sheet but we'll see. I'll officially decide what crane he's based on later, but for now I'm leaning towards the red-crowned crane.

WIP’S:

She’s a Genshin insert i made, I’m not sure what to do with her now that I don’t play the game much🙁 I named her Mari (ik, so original...!) and I designed her character to be about light and life. Her character corresponds with the next character, who im going to Name Ezra for the sake of not confusing anyone.

She’s a hydro polearm user, and is usually found in Sumeru and Liyue. She frequents any gardens or botanical areas found by Ezra, and is usually baking or doing other domestic things for her friends. Def the type to make her fighting really graceful tbh..She’s the more friendly one of the two, and is seen more frequently in public compared to the other.

Another genshin oc (😭😭). I made it that he was a sort of god or spirit of death. As l said before, his name is Ezra. I wanted him and Mari to appear as polar opposites, but actually be really close. Almost sort of a yin yang type of thing. He's more of a shut in, and can be found looking after the plants & wildlife for Mari while she is gone.

I Imagined he would be an electro swords user, but I never actually got into his character as much as I'd like to. As said before, Mari likes to bake) & is found baking for her friend frequently. His favorite dish of hers is the flan, and in return for making him food, he looks out for the animals & special plants she is especially fond of. He's never seen by the public, as some have said that seeing his true appearance drive even the purest souls mad (so edgy!!! & emo 😍!!)

He’s also naked in like all of the drawings I have of him since I never came up with a costume design for him or anything

My twisted prefect and Ruggie bc I’m in love with that furry and that furry only!!! (Tbh during this time was when my art was at its peak, but this one just wasn’t it..😣)

Dream, Guardian of Positivity

Full Dragon Form Reference

Half Dragon Form Reference (WIP)

Dragon Breath:

None

General Abilities:

• Dream keeps all of his usual abilities

- General positive aura and empathy

- Teleportation

- Healing, though it take a lot of energy

- Summoning minor bone attacks

- He can still change his staff into blades/a bow, along with summoning arrows, but it’s pretty much impossible to utilize as a dragon (hard to hold anything with paws) so he doesn’t ever do it

• Though he cannot fly, he has very long, light, and graceful leaps that can almost simulate such, if done right

• The glow effect of his mouth, eyes, and ecto makes for a great nightlight/flashlight in dark spaces

• With a little training, he’s able to utilize his claws and fangs in a battle, as well as his tail in a whip or tentacle like fashion

- Alongside that, his lengthy body and tail makes it easier to peacefully restrain enemies in a fight

Hoard:

For longer than Dream really would admit, he’s felt drawn towards comfort items like blankets, pillows, and plushies. The very first of his hoard was the cape that Nightmare fashioned for him long before the Apple Incident. That gift, given to him during a thunderstorm and while he was struggling with his self worth and fatigue (both caused by the villagers), meant the absolute world to him. It was comforting, meaningful, and showed that someone cared about him, so his instincts latched onto it.

During their time pre-corruption, Dream was unable to properly hoard anything. He either could not afford items he wanted, or people would turn down his requests. He had a few blankets and pillows, all of which were shared with Nightmare at the time, but was otherwise stuck in an uncomfortable funk. After waking up from his stone prison and moving in with Ink, Dream was able to indulge himself far more often, to the point that he thought he actually had a problem. He tried to hide it all in closets, cupboards, and drawers.

After finding out about their dragon instincts, Dream’s far more open about his hoard (even if still a little embarrassed). He’s collected anything from cute pillows at the store, to his friends’ jackets and sweaters. Hiding it all is no longer necessary. Instead, he keeps it in either his room, Nightmare’s, or Killer’s, though some of it does usually end up in others’ bedrooms as well. He finds his hoard is great for cuddling when someone he cares about feels down, and has little shame on dragging anyone to his “nests.”

Extra Info:

• Nightmare is not his biological brother - they had a brother-like relationship, but neither really considered each other as such.

• Dream has taken many items from Error’s stash of blankets and pillows (with permission of course), to the point that Error will occasionally get something specifically for Dream’s hoard, just so he won’t take anything else from his pile.

• A major design change from the original post is the addition of slight fur on Dream’s ecto. It’s hardly noticeable because it’s so short, but it has the softest texture. At times, in cuddle piles, it’s hard to tell the difference between what’s a really soft pillow and what’s Dream’s fur.

- Added onto that, though his tongue is slightly forked, it’s also barbed like a cat’s. It makes it very easy to get dirt out of his fur, but he never uses it for that because he thinks it’s gross. That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t instinctually gone to clean his paws before (or, on occasion, someone else’s face), only to stop immediately and gag at the taste.

• Nightmare tearing his cape was one of the worst pains he had ever felt. He’s forever grateful for the Stars’ help in refashioning it so it wasn’t completely ruined, but he’s still deeply saddened by the fact that it’s much shorter now.

• Though his ecto glows with the positivity around him, it does not typically react to his own feelings. He could stand in a crowd of happy people while feeling absolutely depressed, and still shine like a glow stick. Whether this is a result of repressing his emotions for far too long, or just how his magic works, he isn’t sure.

• He really wants to make a second crown for this form, since his usual circlet does not fit as a dragon. It’s currently still a work in progress, but he does eventually get one.

i made a note to myself when i was half asleep and all it said was:

so i assume that 2 am me wanted to ask you about everything that has to do with the skymirror circus. What constellations are currently involved with the SkyMirror circus? What is Ura's character and personality like?

i know i already sent another ask regarding the circus, but you did say if i had any specific questions about the characters, i could just ask so here i am :DD

also, completely unrelated to the question, but i googled the wikipedia page for former constellations (to figure out how to properly spell uranoscopus' name) and some of the former constellations are just absolutely hilarious as concepts:

Haha that's awesome xD I seem to get my best ideas in the middle of the night so I make notes on my phone too, and while I remember the context most of the time, there are other times where I'm like "girl what???"

And yeeesss you have discovered the goldmine of hilarity that I did during my own research xD Early identification of constellations seemed to be a lot of "just put whatever up there" and I love that so much. That's why I encouraged you to make your own constellations for your story if you wanted to, it's fun :D

And now onto the circus! Also I find myself switching how I spell its name a lot (SkyMirror, Sky Mirror, Skymirror, etc.) so feel free to spell it however you'd like.

As a side note, I don't have all of the designs finished for these so I don't have the full lineup image yet, so I'll provide the individual art and the current WIPs instead. I'll start with noting characters who are adjacent to the circus or who are former members before describing the current crew, though I have talked about some of them in previous asks already.

Pisces (The Fish) - While she was never an official member of the circus itself, she is often credited as the source inspiration for it via her carefree dancing and swimming. Meeting many of the future members of the circus is part of why Pisces decided to share her water magic with all of the sea creatures, allowing them to perform out of water. Though Pisces does not take away this gift, she does take issue with how Ura chooses to use it, and helps fight back to stop her. Piscis Austrinus "Austri" (The Southern Fish) - Formerly a juggler and performer at the circus, especially with imitation based acts given her shape-shifting abilities. After the incident with Urania's Mirror, Austri left the circus and became a companion to Pisces, but still takes any opportunity she can to foil any of Ura's future plans, having insider knowledge of how she thinks and makes plans.

[I've shown some of her art before but here's her initial design sheet from 2019 for now, I'll be updating it later] Volans (The Flying Fish)

Formerly a high-flying acrobat at the circus, capable of quickly changing between his two forms and flying through rings in his acts. His overall temperament is anxious and flighty, with what little confidence he does have appearing in his performances. When things went awry with Ura, he attempted to escape but was unsuccessful, instead being captured by her. His cowardly nature made it difficult for him to be anything more than a hostage, used as leverage to draw out Ura's next targets. Musca (The Fly)

Not technically a member of the circus itself, but instead is Ura’s informant and literal “fly on the wall” to spy on others. She loves to gossip, and her ability to change into the size of an actual fly makes her difficult to catch or detect. She doesn't have much actual loyalty to Ura though, she is merely drawn to all the drama surrounding her, and will always save herself first if she's threatened.

-------- And now for the current members! Uranoscopus (The Stargazer Fish)

The crafty ringleader, exuding the charisma and bravado you'd expect from a seasoned performer and showrunner. She is well known for her death-defying tricks and revels in putting others in danger for the sake of a good show. The ring around her waist can transform into a mirror (Urania's Mirror that she stole, prior to its return) that can trap anyone who touches the glass inside it. The mirror is then dropped from on high, and the captive “volunteer” must escape before it shatters.

In her attempts to keep her fame alive, Ura becomes fixated on illusion magic, which is essentially a manipulation of light magic. She often uses her title of "The Stargazer" when introducing herself, referring to her species name but also this ability to see and create illusions. With practice, she is able to project these illusions onto others, increasing its range when wearing her goggles. This makes her attacks very beguiling and confusing for her targets, creating the characteristic misdirection of a magician and making up for her general lack of physical strength. She's equally as "slippery" in her escapes as she is in her conversations; a prime manipulator, clever and sharp-witted.

She is drawn to sources of astral power, which eventually led her to Ophiuchus via his connection to the Sun Starglass. She initially tried to convince him to use his power to suit her aim, but he ultimately refused, believing his power should be shared with everyone and worried that she was chasing unhealthy endeavours. After his disappearance, she still searched for him in the hope that he'd return.

Upon Cassie's arrival, she changed tactics. Using Musca to spy on her and get an idea of who they'd be dealing with, Ura decided to play the actor and appeal to Cassie's kindness, viewing her as nothing more than a naive child. And while Ura is able to successfully trick her at first, Cassie finds out the truth and doesn't take kindly to being lied to, making a powerful enemy out of her instead.

Hippocampus (The Sea Horse)

Essentially Ura’s "getaway driver" when tied to her circus wagon, and is sometimes dressed up for extra flair in a show. That said, the other constellations aren’t sure if it’s actually sentient or merely an illusion conjured with Ura’s magic, as it only seems to move on her command and sits eerily still otherwise. The only sound it’s known to make is a hollow, ghostly neigh… Xiphias (The Swordfish) and Dorado (The Dolphinfish)

A duo of knife throwers, essentially the "hired goon" types for Uranoscopus once her pursuit of fame goes awry. They use their knife throwing skills in a more combative sense compared to their act in the circus's heyday, and their dexterity and aim shows through with how dangerous they can be as a result. While Dorado is definitely the "brawn" of the two, calling Xiphias the "brains" would be charitable at best, despite what the confidence in his own mischief would tell you. Both can be quite cowardly if one of their hair-brained schemes goes wrong, but Xiphias is usually fast enough (and Dorado strong enough) to avoid getting captured, though they're usually clobbered a lot in the process! Despite sharing one brain cell between them, they genuinely look out for each other the most, with one bailing out the other in most cases. If both are caught, they stay together. Delphinus (The Dolphin)

[Current WIP, the thing in her mouth in the front view is a lit match. She's based on an orca/killer whale, which if you didn't know, is actually in the dolphin family!] The pyrotechnics expert and cannon operator, skills that translated rather easily to villainy as soon as Ura asked for it. When most think of a dolphin, they think of a more cutesy, playful figure like the previous incarnation of her constellation, but this Delphi had a different idea in mind.

Her large stature lends her natural strength, something she uses to hoist her large cannons to aim them more effectively, sometimes mounting them on her back or shoulders to make them semi-mobile. She's a force to be reckoned with and can go toe-to-toe with Cancer's claw cannons in a fight, making her difficult to take down. She likes to make things go boom, and often doesn't care about the damage caused, even if it's collateral or friendly fire. Ura will usually save her for a "bringing out the big guns" moment, especially if her enemies think they've won, and the destruction will usually let her and the others escape if necessary. Anguilla (The Eel)

[Current WIP, drawn before I decided to add him to the circus, so I will be changing his outfit to match that aesthetic later on. He's based on a ribbon eel, though he also has a few attributes of the electric eel as well.] Originally the circus's musician, a dancer, and a tight rope walker, often combining these in some way for his acts. He can play multiple instruments, but favours violin music overall. Even after his turn to villainy, his passion for music still shines through. For example, he refuses to simply rake his bow over the strings to make an unpleasant sound to hinder his enemies, so he'll instead use a good performance as a luring distraction, a bit like a siren song. If you are close enough to him or you hear his music for too long, there's a chance that the sound will temporarily paralyze you.

His long and slender body makes his movements very swift and flowing, like that of a ribbon dancer, so he is notoriously hard to hit. As a result, he is often the first member of the circus you see if you ever tried to track them down, casually playing his violin. For anyone unaware of his tactics, they don't think much of him until his paralysis kicks in, he escapes, and the rest of them attack!

Woah hey! I haven't posted on Tumblr for years, I really gotta start posting more here.

But anyways, after nearly a month I've finally finished this reference sheet! I'm still trying to master the Rescue Bots art style. I'm very pleased with how this version of the character turned out, I've never actually designed a TF OC with an alt mode before. I will make a wiki page soon which will elaborate more about this AU, but in a nutshell Doctor Morocco is a techno-organic (half cybertronian half human) he's been aware of this for decades but won't truly accept it. So using his Chamber of Youth he constantly reverts his body to a time before the cybertronian side of him takes over.

Cut to Season 3's episode 'The Last of Morocco' the Verne Device that powers the chamber has been stolen by Madeline Pynch leaving Morocco with no choice but to succumb to whatever horrors his Cybertronian side has to offer. However his Chamber of Youth still has some residual energy, just enough to send a singular piece of paper back in time to his close friend Jules Verne. And just like in the original episode, Jules refuses to lend Morocco the Verne Device stating 'This is not the man I knew.' Morocco then attempts to destroy the bots, High Tide stopping him with Morocco surrendering shortly after. He then decides to confess about his predicament and as to why he needed the Verne Device to begin with.

Okay cutting to the end of season 3 going on season 4 or else this will end up being waaaayy too long. After a lot of reasoning, persuasion monologues and tears, Morocco has had a change of heart. Becoming similar to the man he once was long ago, before drifting away from his best friend Jules Verne. He's been taught by the bots (mainly Blades surprisingly) and Optimus Prime how to master this new Cybertronian form and eventually decides to scan a vehicle mode. Morocco originally wished to scan a watercraft vehicle like a small submarine or jet ski. But when a high speed pursuit started to get out of control (the suspect on a motorcycle going nearly 150mph and poor Chase physically not capable of such speeds for long periods of time) putting the lives of Chief Burns, Chase and the suspect at risk, Morocco realises this is his opportunity to prove his change and someone must assist. He rushes to the firehouse, telling Cody to inform the Chief that help is on the way.

Rushing back outside, Morocco scans the only vehicle in sight he knows could compete (Yamaha R1) and sets off as fast as possible, trying to keep himself steady. Morocco quickly catches up to Chase and Chief Burns who are struggling to stop the reckless suspect and asks for guidance. The Chief upon recognising Morocco quickly orders him to stop the suspect by any means. Morocco speeds up getting as close to the suspect as possible yelling something along the lines of: "PULL OVER, THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING." in the most robotic, monotonous voice he could create, hoping to sell the illusion he was a machine of some sorts.

Funnily enough this worked and the suspect finally pulled over, intimidated by the driverless motorcycle. Chase and Chief Burns quickly detained the suspect and no lives were lost. Shortly after, Morocco transforms back into bot mode and remembers that he's scanned a motorcycle and is extremely displeased. The Chief thanks Morocco for his assistance and states that the rescue team really could use a high power motorcycle for future pursuits and police escorts. Morocco is puzzled by this statement as they both know he's not exactly fit for a rescue team especially the law enforcement side, Morocco is still struggling to forgive himself for his past mistakes. The Chief then clarifies that Morocco is welcome to assist as a only as a vehicle and perhaps in the future officially join the team, acquire a human partner and become an official rescue bot.

My Art Summary for 2022!

(Under the cut I'll go into more details for each month, for memory's sake. Warning: It's LONG.)

Come one, come all for your opportunity to see all of the drawings I should have posted but never did! The ones that make me work harder every december to remember when tf i drew what! The ones that, in missing, make it seem like i only draw once a year--! (going through my twitter media tab is depressing LMAO)

JANUARY

[Pictured: Iola in Prenda clothing. There was a Twitter Post going around asking you to draw your WoL in your country's traditional clothes. Ofc I didn't skip the opportunity to do it! And drew my BF's WoL too for good measure. Still my fav drawing of the year!]

Also worked on a VTuber model for a friend (i drew it as a bust january last year; then this year was asked to expand it to full body). It was very challenging, but also fun!

For the rest, I designed some backstory NPCs for Asera (Daimyorus childhood friend, his goddess and a mage that helped us multiple times); and drew some twitch emotes for a client. Was a fresh, fun start. I remember having a lot of fun and finding that month quite relaxing.

FEBRUARY

Further work was done on the VTuber model, a lot of parts that weren't quite working before were redrawn. He was taking form!! Now that most of the work was done, also did a ref sheet to go with it. I couldn't wait to see him moving!

That's when I started preparing to open commissions for realz, trying to think of prices and set up examples. I drew some BGs and the Complexity Guide, and set most of the boring things up. I plan to open comms either Jan 2023 or February 2023, so let's hope all the work paid off~

MARCH

But yeah, most of the month was dedicated to the VTuber model, working to fix it as the rigger found issues. Ref Sheet was finished this month. I'll stop mentioning the model, but the back and forth lasted till june or so?? Had to fix all of his toggles; and redraw his entire hair to allow for a better 3D effect when moving (it went from 3~6 layers to over 20). This was my first time working on vtuber models, so there was A LOT to learn. It surprising how many pitfalls there is in vtuber making. I'm very proud of how it turned out, and eternally grateful to the rigger (and to my friend) for being so patient with me. I was sent a small demo of what he looks like, and seeing your drawing move so beautifully like that feels magical!! There's still much to design and draw before he can debut, but hope you can support him then!

I've had them since childhood, and still love them, even if I gave up on the book idea. Will make an actual post once all is done and I can go back to their character illusts uwu

JULY

SO.MUCH.FUN

I'm 100% going back next year! This event just proved how much I love drawing people's OCs. I really want to be a commission artist so I can do that for a living. Sadly I didn't get to draw everyone I wanted, plus I wasted a lot of time trying to look through OCs while the website was dying LMAO Next year I'll come prepared!

Also I drew that Spring picture to use as a reference in her profile there. I missed drawing her!

AUGUST

Mostly worked on commemorative stuff. Anniversary chibi for Brie; that Under Maintenance pic; Thank You for DL message for 'Loving You Fully' and 'Still Shining'. Also designed some outfits (and painted some sprites) for Mythic Meetup: Midnight Mystery (not released yet!).

Started a bday gift for my boyfriend, but something kept looking 'off' about it so I didn't finish in time. Turns out it was overblended... And will require a redraw. Sorry boyfriend TT But my wife (tm) needs to look perfect!!

Also made the design for our new RP characters:

SEPTEMBER

Made the YCH bases, as well as 3 examples. I have no memories of this month, but Windows says this sketch is from september:

OCTOBER

[Pictured: Old OC redraw, for my Commission Guide. Decided to do it after a client asked for clarification if an old drawing was halfbody or fullbody (august last year, Torunn sitting down).]

They're really old OCs of mine. Ever RP-ed in Deviantart groups? I did!!

Cecilia (<-) is pretty much a Iola prototype: salve maker and potion seller who lives with her dad (who taught her the craft). One day he collapses during work, and Cecilia ends up overworking herself to afford his medicine and other living expenses. In desperation, she joins The Guild as a novice magician for money, and gets herself involved on a war she never intended to join.

Celticca (->) is a archer and aspiring musician who wants to make the most beautiful song (tm) for her family. She's very sweet, but naïve and scatterbrained. I didn't have much planned for her, but had a lot of fun seeing her constantly get involved with Evil/Neutral alligned characters w/o noticing LOL

....Now that I think about it, she's literally a FFXIV bard, before I knew anything about XIV.

The rest of October was focused on Magni's Birthday Project and my YCH Halloween Commissions.

Ellie (<-) and Hadrianus (->). Ellie is a yandere witch I made as a joke and fell in love with. Hadrianus is my BF's wizard. Yes, he looks like Dr. Strange. Yes, that's the joke. The 3rd character was Rosemary, but I didn't ask to draw her so she's missing :( I do want to draw all of them at some point. We accidentally made "Spy x Family, but it's horror and Loid wants to run away" LOOOL I love this trio!!

Made 2 adoptables, but since they went unsold I decided to remove them and redraw for next year:

October was so much fun!! Sadly it let me completely drained by the end of it. I got hit with such a HUGE art block it was like my hands just... Forgot how to draw. Everything came out weird. Sadly, that resulted on me having to drop a drawing I was making for Brie :/ Hoping I can pick it back up soon... (better late than never right?)

It's around that time I decided to work on an AI redraw. Used Crayon (old Dall-e Mini) to create some monstrosity for me and tried to turn it into an actual drawing.

This drawing is a bit painful to look at, because of all the self doubt and bad feelings attached to it. But I want to finish it someday. My prompt was something stupid like 'cute anime girl having fun'. I want to remain true to the prompt and make her meeting with lil ladybug feel warm and fun!

...Like of the feelings I was missing back then, and am just now starting to get back.

TL;DR: Take breaks or you'll break.

NOVEMBER

Managing burnout through most of it. Eventually just decided to stop fighting and played games instead. Even with the frame drops, Atelier Ryza is pretty fun~ Hoping to go bk to it soon.

At some point my boyfriend said I should just draw things to have fun for a bit. I followed his advice...

DECEMBER

...By drawing Iola as a sheep herder. It was much more fun than it sounds. I didn't care for polish at all, just seeing Iola in a cute outfit LMAO It's... A mess of a drawing. But it's MY mess of a drawing. I feel this thought calmed my mind a lot.

Also went for my first ever Art Party. It was fun, tho brain did get in the way after a bit, as expected ^^;;; Still want to go to these more often!! It's fun to draw & chat with others.

For random drawings, all I have is a(n embarrassing) fanart of Elf from Isekai Ojisan. I'll post eventually..... (that anime is hilarious)

For now I have a commission and a collab to take care of, and a certain Moon Goddess to draw as soon as possible~ Will be doing my best these next few days, and hope Iola can be my sheperd and guide me to the path of 'having lots of fun drawing again'.

Yes, actually! So I’ve been working on-again off-again for my Warcraft AU for Yugioh and while I haven’t gotten any writing done for it yet, I have gotten character designs done for it (with the exceptions of Zorc and also I need to redesign Yugi, Atem, and Thief King Bakura) and some general story planning completed to. I am so excited however to write and perhaps draw the scene where Zorc gets sealed away because oh boy, will some things be different and also I have so many IDEAS!

No, not that I can think of! Sometimes I want to write or draw for more than one character based on a prompt or a setting so I just plan for both 😅

This is a reference sheet I’m making for my void elf monk, Hanarisa Starchaser! I love and adore her and I need to finish the ref sheet when I have free time and brainpower to do so because she is BABY and also I have like 2 more ref sheets I need to make of her in different outfits but I am so excited to get this done when I’ve got time and I’m not doing commissions because she’s my fave World of Warcraft character to draw.

My other favorite WIP is World of Duelcraft cuz uh, let me show you some of my favorite designs from it;

I won't lie, the design for my Saturnian dragons are based on Spyro. The first video game I've played pretty much, back on my old PS1.

Earlier today I also shared the Saturnian lore with my best friend, and he asked me some worldbuilding questions about them. I'll paste some of them here, prepare for massive infodump.

Is this like written by the Saturnians pov or Humans? Since its like an exstensive look on Saturnians

Human observation, yes. Saturnians are very secretive on what data they want to share. Except basic census data, that is still fine for them.

Does the inter space travel from earth and satun back and forth exists?

It does exist. Their space travel enables Earth-Saturn travel in 3-4 months depending on orbit position of the two planets.

For comparison, Pioneer 11, the first Saturn space probe, reached the ringed planet after about 6 years (1973-1979)

also interplanetary space travel is now common? Like earth residents can afford tour to Saturn or is it still closed off to general public?

They use Saturnian ships to transfer people back and forth. Frankly no one really wants to wait 6 years to reach the ringed planet when it can be done within 4 months.

The agreement that the two races had to make to get permission to board Saturnian ships was lengthy. Even then human passengers are closely supervised to make sure they don't "steal" technology.

its interesting that if Saturn itself is 'alive', does the Saturnian revere every land that they built upon and try not to damage or relentlessly build on them and have lenghty process to learn if the soil should be preserved and everything like that?

They try to build… what's the word… respectfully? Responsibly? One of the two. Minimizing altering the landscape and build on whatever is there for them to use.

They claim to be able to "speak" or "hear" from the planet itself, a concept that's truly out of human comprehension. Whether it's actual extrasensory perception, a form of indirect communication with other individuals, or simply just a belief is anyone's guess. They have words for things that humans can't define. And the fact that their life expectancy is 5 to 7 times longer than an average human is already well beyond human comprehension.

They've been around for more than 1.5 million years. Modern humans (that is, homo sapiens) have only been around for 200,000.

whats saturnians blood color? Do they have the same blood types like humans

It's black, nearly void black. Blood types, I haven't done that far on worldbuilding. I may just left it out for simplicity.

also what they were look like in their tribal stage before being one of the most advanced race in the universe? Also if we ever venture outside Saturnia, will we ever find other settlements or civillizations or maybe ruins of Saturnians past?

They've conserved their history completely in digital media through augmented reality in almost perfect detail. This allows anyone in Saturn to access it for research purposes with minimal need to travel. Any leftovers of past civilization have been repurposed for building and manufacturing.

Currently they're experimenting with copying consciousness into digital media although the ethics for that is still debatable among various cultures and subcultures.

if Saturnia inspired from solarpunk aesthetics, does communal events exist? Like maybe a massive festival dedicated to Saturn or 'nature' in our sense or a national potluck day or smth like that, just wholesome communal events that connect with nature and everything

They still do in less populated areas. A bit difficult to do in large dense settlements, where instead it's done through virtual reality.

Saturnian "virtual reality" has successfully replicated senses like touch and smell, alongside visual and audio, by directly and wirelessly interacting with the brain stem and providing "fake" senses. Which means this has also allowed the disabled to partake in virtual reality events.

I don't have ideas for Saturn-specific social events right now, but once I do, I'll tell you.

did they ever harness nuclear power?

Fusion reactors, in extremely limited numbers and in very specific use cases. Majority of power is still harvested from wind farms.

i mean if saturnians are technologically advanced, they must've created a technology that can replace or repair limbs?

Prosthetics? They're not super advanced in medicine. They still haven't solved their low healthy birth rate issue. 1.5 million years and they haven't figured out why only 7 out of 10 to 11 of their eggs are able to successfully hatch.

Some cultures believe it's the way Saturn intended and they shouldn't try to figure it out, like why would one question how nature works. Some other cultures believe it's a hidden genetic code waiting to be unlocked, and then some other cultures also believe that doing so will just cause disaster.

If it was an alien utopia, they wouldn't need weapons like railguns. But here they are, still having internal issues waiting to be solved.

I really hope you guys have long posts off. I don’t. But you all do. If you don’t, I also tagged this as a long post so try filtering that out if that is to your fancy. Anyway.

this is an au version of Vivisected, but I accidentally made it very reference sheet-able so I guess I’m making a whole new design for him. For some reason.

Because I’m mexican and love cowboys just existing for no real apparent reason, I want the next demon realm area to be a western themed area without racism (even if I love cowboys uh. They’re very easy to get very wrong.) and also with cowboy!owen felford because I think that’s a very funny concept.

I’m part of a collab and here’s the concept art I came up with for Furious Blade Raven and Owen for the them of ‘Modern clothes’

Very excited for the actual collab to go live.

Also a little doodle of Snake Eyes in what I think he would wear for the themeing of that. That’s a rough sketch ofc it’s be a lot more dramatic if he were actually to dress up for that.

I keep meaning to finish this but I don’t have the emotional energy.

A/N: Damn, this is jank as hell. I did not do poor Nari justice. I actually remember doodling this. It was my first time actually trying to study the Order's designs and figuring out how I would draw them myself, alongside a long awaited Wizards rewatch. Alas, I have only two layers in this document, and Nari is on one. The second is empty.

[FIC] Inkpot Gods

Shaking his head, Douxie went over the papers on the desk. A to-do list of tasks for the day before, all but one item crossed off. A page that looked like it was torn from a book. A piece of sheet music. His brow furrowed and his fingers itched for his lute. He sat down, pushing the other papers aside and holding the sheet music out in front of him. It was a single page, undoubtedly Zoe’s, the edges slightly singed and the paper itself well crumpled.

If he had come just the night before, he would have seen her, staring at the mass of brown hair on her desk and touching the tips of her hair, suddenly much shorter. He would have seen her chuckle and glance in the mirror, smartly placing the Phrygian cap on her head.

If he had turned the page over, he would have seen the letter from her mother, with words furiously circled and scribbled out by Zoe. He would have seen the name of the town she had ventured off to, just a week’s trip from Camelot.

If he raced out of town at that moment, he would have sung the song himself as he ran, and the call of his voice perhaps could have brought her heart home to his.

But what’s done is done, and presently, Douxie’s attention was on the lyrics on the sheet music.

A/N: It's a Zouxie fic based on The Amazing Devils song "Inkpot Gods." I meant to finish this a long time ago (I have two out of the four chapters written), but I have the attention span of a peanut. I actually also posted the first chapter to AO3 during Zouxie week. I might revisit this, but the months of September-October are going to be awful for me (this is why ADAU is on temp hiatus)
