TLDR; I think my ex-roomate hexxed me and I have no clue what to do

So I recently had a very messy break from my roommate. Things got complicated because I was the only one working and bringing in money, but due to my mental health, I had problems actually making the phone calls and things to actually pay the bills. So I wound up in a position where I was being all but financially abused by this roommate. So I was thrilled when they got a job opportunity in another state. They moved out a few weeks ago and since then, I swear, every single bad thing that could happen does. I've had my bike and my debit card both stolen within 24 hours from each other. Everything I like has either been irreparably destroyed or simply lost. Work has been hell and home has been hell to the point that this honestly just isn't normal.

When my bike went missing, I texted them because even though they'd already left, I was hoping they might remember where it was. After mycard info was stolen, I texted them again because they were the only person who would have that info on their phone. I didn't even use the card on my phone, I refuse to shop online. They were the only person that might have done it. This turned into a huge fight that spiraled out of control because one of our mutual friends decided to get involved. I'm not friends with either of them anymore. This fight is what finally pushed me into blocking them both.

I remember when I first moved in and we were getting to know each other they told me that they'd take "extream revenge" on anyone who "crossed" them, but we're extremely vauge about what "crossing" them meant exactly. They told me once about a girl they'd used to be friends with, whom they'd had a falling out with. My roommate claimed they'd hexxed this girl and her life had been so fucked because of it. It started out as little inconveniences, but got so bad that the girl got into a car crash, which this ex-roomate takes credit for.

Thinking back to that conversation, and to everything that's happened this week, I'm terrified I've been hexed. And I have no idea what to do about it. I've never felt with magic outside of simple protection and things to help me with my mental health and self image. This is outside of my knowledge and experience. What do I do????

I'm poor so resources are scarce... So alot of the spells I've read about are too expensive for me to do.

Philtre- water based, delicate ingredients.

Decotion- for immidate ingestion, consecrated, sturdy ingredients, reduce to remove excess water.

Tincture- alchhol based, keeps for up to a year, time needed for preparation, highly concentrated, dilute.

Vinegar vinegar based, masks ingredients, highly concentrated.

Syropp- ingredients preserved in sugar solution, very sweet.

Poltrice- chopped plant material, compress, can be infused with potions.

Formentation- clothes dipped in potion, compress.

Salve- oil or fat based, thick and creamy, for external application.

Elixir- alchhol based, very pure.

Tisane- hot water based herbal extract.

Macerate- cold water based plant Infusion, requires up to 12 hours.

Essential oils- diluted extracts.

Inhalation- vapor from a potion.

I need suggestion! Stories about kids who went to magic schools. Yes, I know, Harry Potter, I have the whole collection from before Rowling proved herself a transphobe and cancelled herself.

It's a novel writing project, and I need several examples of the story type to study. Books are better, but I'll also take tv, movie and anime suggestions. I can easily study those too.

Blue Exorcist and Soul Eater could count, but I'd prefer examples with more ordinary protagonists.

Ps. Suggestions don't have to be only modern stories. Anything goes.
