Depressing Echo Headcanon

Echo suffers from severe survivor's guilt.

Being trapped on Skako Minor at the hands of the Techno Union was torture. To be kept in that stasis chamber, malnourished and incapacitated, and used as a tool to kill his own brothers was a fate worse than death.

But the imprisonment, the brain scans, the isolation... It was nothing compared to this. The knowledge that he survived.

To be kept alive while all of his brothers met their own fate.

Droidbait, Cutup, Hevy, Fives, so many of his 501st brothers... All of them gone while he got a second chance to live.

Every time he looks at himself, sees the cybernetics, the Bad Batch armour, all of it is a reminder that he made it. And a reminder of what he lost. What he could still lose.

He's still alive. But his brothers are not.
