Challenge: From your creations, choose GIFs and do a split of before and after adding colouring!
tagged by @uuuhshiny . i have done these things before, here and here.  but okay, i’ll do one more :D though, since i don’t gif recently i just found my old gif psds that i have not removed yet, and just resaved them, so sorry for the speed on the gifs, i did not really paid attention lmao the point is coloring anyway, right??
tagging @comicbookvillain @tennant @arthurpendragonns @rory-amy and whoever wants to do it :D
i love changing colors, i love when they are vibrant, i am also the kind of person who will turn everything into purple, but if the scene is purple i will try my best to make it look normal af and remove all the purple lmao idk why tho
changing colors is fun, like i did that on my pink Doctor Who gifset, and my golden Missy gifset
Tumblr media
turning blue into pink or gold? im here for that :D but i rarely did it before, but i was challenged to do it, so i did :D and i think i did good.
Tumblr media
if i see a kinda red hair, i will make it as vibrant as possible :D i also love when on gifs lips are red, idk why.
Tumblr media
doctor who is a super hard to color, especially when you color doctor and the master, because i feel like show runners hate thoschei shippers considering all of doctor/master scenes are like this or worse
Tumblr media
???
Tumblr media
??????????
moffat what the heck??????
i mean, look at my doctor and master gifsets, i have a lot of them, those are all super edited because original scenes are the pain in the a$$ to color! they are either super dark blue or horrible yellow/red.
Tumblr media
i have not used this gif in a set, wanted to but it was extra so have it :D maybe one day i will make a gifset with yellow/blue combo and use it :D and i do love those two color combinations, like there are other colors too, but i make those two colors stand out so it looks nice. like the gif with miranda otto above, that color combination is really pretty
also, i love making michelle gomez eyes really blue, or anyone’s lmao like if there are blue eyes consider me making them as vibrant as possible :D
Tumblr media
not the best example, but it was not the best quality video and i did what i could. sometimes i make it with selective colors and hue and saturation, but sometimes i draw blue color over the gif. yeah, sometimes i love torturing myself and color each layer or a few layers and just move the layer where i need lmao
like previous insta videos of her i edited and made blue stand out, i did like that :/ but i would do more for that woman :D
my colorings are not super complicated, i usually upload those colorings i don’t use on my psd account @creationsofthedark so check it out, there are my first colorings i ever did, and the latest. you will not find channel mixer there tho, but it’s my fav tool now. i stopped updating the blog since... well, there was an incident where the person started doing what i asked to not to do, don’t copy me. i posted a gifsets with these colorings so why would you crop it the same way and color it with my coloring and post, the same scene??? after asking me sharpening settings also?? like, those were so similar i thought it is a repost tbh that’s why i stopped posting psds i use, and well, i use channel mixer mostly for correcting colors and it never works on 99% of the scenes, and i don’t wanna share coloring for one scene i already giffed, what is the point? so somebody could gif the same scene with the same coloring? nope. anyway, channel mixer as you see on previous creator tag games i did is really good when you need to correct colors, such as super red colors or yellow. unfortunately idk how to edit tHAT Doctor and Master scene from doctor falls, it’s the worst scene ever and i will not touch it again lmao, i tried I TRIED but... usual colorings which work fine on more than few scenes are uploaded on sideblog. and you may see there that i don’t do anything extraordinary, same settings almost everywhere, curves, levels if needed, selective colors and color balance are mostly used by me. and i always avoided using masks when i started giffing, but honestly that’s so good, don’t be scared to use them, they are really awesome when you need to correct part of the gif only. i also love using color fills, to change color of the background or a specific object, using blending modes, if the object does not move it is easy but sometimes it does not... like with the eyes, you have to draw over each layer or move the layer for each frame :D sometimes i use textures, but i usually blur them as on the first DW gif here. idk what else to say... :D

The Day it Almost Ended
Septics Inverted
A JSE Fanfic
A little bit shorter than the other stories, but it’s a pretty simple one so eh. It started out as “what’s a normal day in this household like?” and then I threw the Pax Anti video in there because that needs an explanation in this AU. And, uh, yeah, that’s it. Stuff happens because of that
Read the intro story: Part One | Part Two
Various other AU-related stuff found here

Jack woke up with a pounding headache. For a moment, he tried to remember if there was a reason for that, but when he couldn’t come up with anything he gave up. Must just be a bad day. He groaned, and rolled over to look at the clock. It was nine-thirty. That meant it was time to get up. He sighed, then managed to pry himself away from his bed. He stumbled toward the dresser, grabbed some clothes, then considered taking a shower. He decided against it; he was too tired and the water would just wash out the color in his hair. After getting dressed he climbed down the stairs to the kitchen. And then he realized he could hear the shouting. Already? It was so early.
“Some of us have a personal life, unlike you, discount Punisher!”
“I have a personal life, bitch, I think the word you’re looking for is ‘limits,’ and in that case you’re the one lacking!”
“Well I’m fucking sorry that I want to do more with my life than jump around in spandex beating the shit out of criminals!”
“Do more with your life?! I’d say that—”
Jack walked into the kitchen, and everything immediately stopped. “Morning guys,” he yawned. “Glad to see we’re off to a fantastic start today.”
Nobody said anything. Jackie was standing by the toaster, glaring at Marvin, who was in turn standing behind the counter and glaring right back. Chase was sitting at the dining table, picking at his scrambled eggs. After an awkward silence, he looked up and said, “Hey Jack. Didja sleep well?”
“Yeah. I have a headache, though, so maybe I slept too long. Did someone make breakfast or is it a free-for-all?”
Chase pointed towards the fridge with his fork. “There’s still some leftover eggs from yesterday in there, but if you don’t want those you’re gonna have to fend for yourself.”
The toaster popped. Everyone jumped. The atmosphere in the room was way too tense for sudden noises. Jackie sighed, the plucked the two bagel halves out of the slots, then strolled over to the silverware drawer, grabbed a butter knife, grabbed some butter from the cupboard, and began applying said butter to the bagel. He did this all while not looking away from Marvin, who was standing still as a statue.
“You know what? I’m just gonna...grab some cereal.” Jack edged around the staring contest, quickly getting the box from the cupboard and some milk from the fridge before power-walking over to the table and sitting down next to Chase. “Where are the others?” he asked.
“Still asleep,” Chase explained.
“Yeah, I figured Schneep would be.” The doctor’s clinic was usually open all night, so his sleep schedule was pretty off. “But Jameson?”
“He was out late. You know that, uh...fuck I can’t remember what it’s called. The, like, police charity gala? He got an invitation and went.”
“Huh. Didn’t know he knew anyone in the police.”
“Apparently it’s a new thing.” Chase shrugged. He glanced over towards Jackie and Marvin. “Jesus, they’re still...hey, are you two losers goin’ to actually eat or are you too busy having a Mexican stand-off but with eyes?”
“Fuck off, Chase,” Marvin said automatically. “You know what? I have better things to do. See you guys later, unhopefully.” He turned and left.
“That’s not a word!” Jackie called after him, causing a flurry of purple sparks to shoot towards his head. He barely ducked in time.
“What is with you two?” Jack griped. “Why are you always about to tear each other’s throats out?”
Jackie sighed. “It’s just...he’s a dick, but he thinks I’m one.”
“Don’t worry about it, man.” Chase said. “It’s not like they’re out to murder each other or anything. It’s...well, maybe I should have done a personality assessment for potential roommates. They’re too different.” He shoved a bit of breakfast into his mouth before continuing. “Anyway, what were you planning on doing today? More recording, or do you want to go down to the shop with me?”
“Probably just the first thing.” Jack sighed. “But god, that’s gonna be hard with this headache.”
“You can do it, man! I believe you can power through it!”
“Thanks, dude.” Jack rubbed his head. “Guess I’ll have to, huh?”
“Yeah. But it’ll be okay. I promise.”
After a bit, Jack went back upstairs. Chase immediately turned to Jackie. “Dude, if you’re going to shout at Marvin, can you shout things that won’t clue Jack in?” he hissed.
“What? What did I say?”
“It was what you were about to say. You were like, ‘more out of life, I’ll say that’ and then you stopped when Jack came in and I just know if he hadn’t you were gonna end up mentioning Marvin’s...you know.”
“Oh, you mean murdering people and worse in the basement?!”
“Yes, that’s exactly what I mean!” Chase coughed, uncomfortable. “Look, I get it, Marvin’s...yeah...but Jack can’t find out! He’ll freak, and you know that! Plus, you’re giving Jameson extra work and he has a life outside of us. I don’t think it’s a good idea to piss him off when he could decide to leave at any time.”
Jackie thought about this, then sighed. “Yeah, you’re right. But if I have to listen to him brag about his ‘discoveries’ one more time...” He didn’t finish the threat, just clenched his fist like he was dramatically squashing a bug.
Chase rolled his eyes. “You don’t have this problem with Schneep,” he muttered.
“Th-that—that’s different! Henrik’s a doctor, we need him. And he’s all...well...y’know, so I can’t blame him. Plus, he doesn’t call me a no-good do-gooder under his breath every time he sees me.” Jackie took a bite out of his bagel. “I’m goin’ upstairs to check the web, text me if you need anything.”
Chase gave a little salute. “Will do, Mr. Boy Man.”
Jack took a break from recording around noon, coming back downstairs for a quick lunch before heading on to the next game. He passed Schneep and Jameson in the living room, the former curled up on a couch with headphones and his phone and the latter sitting in an armchair with a book. They weren’t talking, though for all he knew Jameson actually was but he was projecting to Schneep alone. Jack waved to them, but neither responded. That was okay. He made himself a quick sandwich/chips combo, ate fast, then went back upstairs.
“Jack! Wait a moment.”
Jack stopped where he was on the staircase, looking back down. “Yeah, doc?”
“You were not planning on going to the Pax this year, were you?”
“Uh...” Jack bit his lip, trying to remember. “No, I...I think I decided there was too much to do here, and travel was too hard.” He gripped the banister tightly. He was feeling dizzy all of a sudden, his vision going in spirals. “Anyway, why?”
“Well..” Schneep held his phone up for Jack to see. “...because there is now a video on your channel called ‘Pax Special Announcement/Surprise.’”
Jack felt his heart stop. “I...didn’t upload that. You don’t think...?”
“It is possible. I have not watched it yet. Do you want to join me?”
“Yeah. Yeah, that’ll be good.” Jack climbed back down the stairs, settling on the couch next to Schneep, leaning over his shoulder to stare at the tiny screen of the phone.
The video started out...normal. Jack, or someone who looked like Jack, began by saying “Well hello there! Before we get right into this, I just want to come right out and say I won’t be going to Pax this year. I’m really sorry guys, but unfortunately life is...being a bitch right now...” A small giggle. “And I just can’t make it. There’s so much planning that you need to put into travelling, and I’m still sort of behind on videos from the time I was sick—”
“When was I sick?” Jack blurted out.
{Back in January.} Both Schneep and Jack startled at the mental interjection. They looked over to Jameson. {Don’t you remember? It was after that disturbing dream you had, right before Marvin strengthened the wards. You were bedridden for a week, it was horrible.}
“Oh. Yeah, uh, now I remember. Thanks, dude.”
The “Jack” onscreen was still talking. “—actually originally planned on going, and I filmed a speci-sp̵e͏ci̧a̕l̀ vide͏o͞ for you guys, to show there.” That glitch didn’t go unnoticed by Jack. “I figured it wouldn’t do anyone any good just sitting on my hard drive, so I might as well post it. But first, you guys have to do something. You know how much I love audience interaction, so what I need you to do is all take out your phones. Or, you know, your iPad, anything with a camera. I’ll just...wait a minute. This is—it’s kinda awkward, isn’t it? But you’re all ready now? Okay, so what you hav͟e͟ tó ̧d͢o iś—̢” The video was interrupted by a horrible, electronic breaking sound as the screen went black. But the visual came back, severely lowered in quality and lagging. “—place ̸yo̕ur̕ p̶h̡o̡ne̢ in͟ you̷r̕ ͝han̡d͝,̡ ̴an͝d̀ ͝j͏ust—” another glitch to black.
Jack glanced at Schneep, who only gave him a worried look. Then, the video returned, red and green pixels flashing across the screen, partially hiding images that...they looked familiar to Jack. Maybe he played games like that? But they seemed more real than anything. Then, black. Nothing except for a question, echoing. “A͡re you ̷th̢ere?” Jack found he was nodding. Why was he nodding?
And then he was there. His appearance was slightly different, more align with Jack’s than his own, most noticeable in the green hair and the lack of an eye-patch. But there was no mistaking the knife, or the bloody bandages around his neck. “Lo͢o̕k ͞a̵t you al͝l̴! ́J͏u͢st sittiņg͟ ͟t̴heŕe—y̷o̧u͝ t́ho̶u͢g̨ht it̵ wa͠s ov̶e̶r̛—no̶t͟ ̷w͝o̸rryi͏n͢g̨ a̵b̢o͝ùt ͞a͝ny̧t͏h̵i̵ng͝. A few more seconds of dark silence, and then the video ended. Jack leaned back. “What...what does it mean?” he asked, a tremble in his voice.
“I think it is a warning.” Schneep turned off his phone. “To your viewers, saying he is still there, and to us, saying he can get inside the channel whenever he wants. He could make how many fake videos and ruin your life.”
“He wouldn’t do that.” Jack didn’t know where the words had come from. Yes, of course he would, he was a monster, he was a demon...and yet...he had the strangest, niggling feeling in the back of his mind.
{Jack, I think your eye friend wants your attention.}
“Wh—Sam!” Jack looked over to the tank in the corner of the room. They’d made it relatively recently, because he hadn’t really...trusted them with the secret of Sam’s existence. But he’d decided they were safe. So he told them. He couldn’t remember the actual moment he did so, but how else would they have found out about Sam?
Jack rushed over to the tank. Sam had been bonking on the lid, looking at him. “What is it, bud?” Sam wanted to see the video. “Well, Schneep can bring his phone over—” No, that wouldn’t work. He scared Sam. “C’mon, Sam, you gotta get over this.” Sam would not. They knew something was off, they didn’t like the way he looked at them. “Well, if you insist. Hang on, I’ll open the tank and you can come upstairs, I’ll show you on my computer.” Sam thought that was a good idea.
With a little effort, Jack pried the lid off the tank and Sam burst out in a spurt of green liquid. They immediately settled on Jack’s shoulder. “Comfortable?” They were. “Alright. Hang on, then.” Jack dashed upstairs. Jameson and Schneep watched him go in silence.
“How do they talk?” Schneep asked. “It has no mouth but Jack understands it just fine!”
{I’m...not quite sure, to be honest,} Jameson admitted. {If it’s a form of telepathy it’s not one I can detect. Jack just seems to know what Sam is feeling. They are definitely connected somehow.}
“Fascinating...” Schneep turned his phone back on, opening up the YouTube video again. “I think we will have to go over this with the others, yes?”
{Indeed.} Jameson stood up, then took Jack’s vacant spot on the couch. {I could feel a definite shift in Jack during that video. I believe Anti thought it would help jog his memory.}
“But how did he do this? How did he reach into Jack’s channel? And how did he change his appearance to match closer to Jack’s? Can he shift shape?”
{My good doctor, I think you need to calm down and focus on the more immediately problem. Jack cannot remember.}
“True, true...but someday I want to find the answers to these questions. And maybe I can answer my questions about Jack’s eye as well. Anyway, will you need to undo his mess?”
{Hmm...perhaps not. I’ll wait until the end of the day to see if there’s any lasting effect. But if there is...I think I may need to strengthen my approach, if one glitch’s video can break through it without too much difficulty.}
Jack was starting to get uneasy. After he showed Sam the video, he’d scrolled down through the comments, reading the viewers’ reactions. He thought he’d done something like this before...looking for the viewers freaking out in reaction to a video he posted. But when would that have happened? He was a gamer, he never uploaded anything this level of shocking. The closest it got was Halloween, but he’d been scared then because Anti was taking over...that...was how it went down, wasn’t it? He just couldn’t shake the feeling of the glitch over his shoulder, but not...in a hostile way...
Most of the comments were very typical. Along the lines of  “Aaaaaaah oh my god Anti is here!!! Aaaaaaa!!!” But there were a couple theories, comparing this sudden dropped video to the Halloween one, which had been built up.
Well, if he was looking for theories, he needed to be on a different website. On a whim, he switched over and searched up the jacksepticeye tab, scrolling through the results. Lots more of the “Ohmigodanti” reactions. He kept refreshing the search, looking for new...yeah, he definitely remembered doing this before. Only now there was Sam with him, instead of...but that wasn’t possible.
Then, he came across a post. Just a single question: “Does anyone else think that Anti isn’t, well, particularly evil?” Reading that, Jack felt...he didn’t know how he felt. Like he’d just remembered something, but there was nothing there. Most of the responses to the post were like “He possessed Jack and slit his throat, how is that not evil?” and that seemed the rational response...it was, wasn’t it?
Boop. The sound of his text alert startled Jack out of his...whatever this was. He picked up his phone from where he’d dropped it on his desk and read the text from Chase: Dude, are you coming down for dinner or what?
“Yeah, yeah,” he muttered to himself. “Sam, you ready to go back in the tank or do you want to hang around a bit more? I...miss hanging out with you. We don’t do it as much.” Sam missed it too, but they wanted to return to the tank. It was safe, and they didn’t think his friends were. “They’re fine, Sam. If they wanted to, like, murder me they would have done it by now.” Sam was worried about him. “...thanks, bud. I appreciate it, but everything is okay.” Sam wasn’t sure about that, but if Jack insisted.
Dinner was the only time when everyone was home and awake to eat at the same time, so it was usually an event. Jackie or Jameson usually cooked, and they all sat at the table and made (sometimes awkward) conversation. There wasn’t really a defined seating arrangement, but they all sort of fell into the same pattern. Jackie and Marvin sat as far away as possible from each other, Jack usually sat next to Chase, or sometimes Jameson or Jackie, Schneep usually sat near Jackie or occasionally Chase, and Jameson sat near Marvin. There were only so many ways to sit with those requirements.
It was spaghetti night, because neither Jackie nor Jameson felt like cooking and spaghetti was easy. Jack was hungry, but he couldn’t bring himself to do more than pick at the noodles. He had too many thoughts, and they all contradicted each other.
“You okay, Jack?” Jackie asked.
“Uh...yeah, I’m just...thinking.”
“About what?”
“Well...I don’t know.” Jack dropped the fork. “You all saw that video on the channel today?”
Everyone nodded. “Are you going to delete it?” Chase asked.
“Maybe. But...after watching it, I feel...” Jack put his head in his hands. “I feel...like I’m forgetting something. Or that something is wrong. And I keep thinking about Anti, and I think I have weird memories...and Sam is worried about me...”
“Okay, that’s cool.” Marvin didn’t seem to be paying attention. He kept glancing toward Jameson.
“Maybe your headache is just playing tricks on your brain, Jack!” Schneep suggested. “That is a thing that can happen if it is bad enough.”
“Really?” Jack was skeptical. He would know about that, wouldn’t he?
“I think you need to get your mind off things,” Marvin said. “Hey, Jameson and I are working on something, and we need a third person. You wanna help?”
“I...literally don’t know anything about magic.”
“Well, that’s okay. We just need you to observe what happens, take notes, tell us if you feel anything, like, psychically. Not too hard.”
“I don’t...” Jack paused. It wouldn’t hurt to help them out, would it? {No, it wouldn’t.} And it could help him forget this whole mess of a day...{it seemed like a good idea.} “Alright, if you insist. After dinner.”
And indeed, after they’d all finished Jack followed Marvin and Jameson down into the basement. The other three, stuck cleaning up, exchanged looks.
“You don’t think...this will have any side effects, do you?” Chase asked.
“I hope not,” Jackie muttered.
“What kind of side effects?” Schneep asked.
“I don’t know! Just!” Chase glared in the general direction of the basement door. “That’s my friend! And I don’t know if this new thing will work. Doesn’t it seem kind of risky to have two people doing the spell at the same time? Like, they’d distract each other?”
“I think it will be fine,” Schneep said dismissively. “Jameson is knowledgeable, and Marvin is very skilled. They will be fine together.”
“Well...I guess this is our best option,” Jackie said reluctantly. “Still never liked this whole...thing, but...”
“It will be fine.” Schneep’s voice left no room for argument. “You will see.”
Jack woke up with purple at the edges of his vision. It faded away. He wondered why that was, and then he forgot what he was wondering about. He felt great.
To his surprise, when he came downstairs to get something to eat before starting the day, everyone was awake. That was something he’d only seen maybe twice since joining the household. Schneep, Jameson, and Marvin were all in the living room, and Chase and Jackie were sitting at the table eating in the kitchen/dining room. “Is there an event or something?” he asked. “Why is everyone awake? Did all our sleep schedules just align?”
“Oh hi Jack!” Chase said. “You feeling alright?”
“Yeah, actually. Pretty good! I might do some VR games today, full of that energy.”
“Nice, dude. Here, I got you some toast.”
“Aw, thanks.” As he sat at the table, munching, he felt...like he was forgetting something. “Hey, uh, what day is it?”
“Friday,” Marvin called from the living room.
“Uh, actually I meant date. I think my phone’s off.”
“It’s the tenth of March,” Jackie said. “Why?”
“I just felt like there was...something I was supposed to be doing. But I think it must be because I’m not at Pax this year. I had my panel scheduled for today until I had to cancel it.”
Chase shrugged. “Well, unfortunately travel difficulties don’t just go away.”
“Yeah.” Jack finished off the toast. “I’m goin’ back up now. You guys know where to find me.” He disappeared up the stairs.
Everyone left collectively relaxed. “Either he is a better actor than he thought, or he really does not remember what happened the day before yesterday.” Schneep breathed a sigh or relief.
“And...you’re sure I’ll never have to do that again?” Marvin asked, turning to Jameson. “I have more important stuff to do with my day.”
{Relax, Marvin.} Jameson waved away his concern. {Now that the spell’s set in motion, it can run on its own energy. It just needs to be kicked into gear every week or so, and that is something I can do on my own.}
“Alright. Okay. Good, we’re all good.” Chase laughed nervously. “God, that was close. We almost lost him.”
Across the city, a screen was smashed. Then the smasher immediately regretted it. That security monitor was an important window into what the hell was going on in that house, he really needed to stop this.
Anti forced himself to breathe, the strange, steadying motion bringing him back down to earth. It was okay. He’d just adapt. First, he’d see if he could still reach Jack through the combination of the house’s wards and the mind spell, whichever spell it may be. Then, he’d get a new screen. Then, he’d figure out what, exactly, this new and improved method was. It was fine. It was fine. He just had to try again. Some of the keener fans were starting to catch on, though they still thought this was all a game. So that was a helpful thing that came out of this.
But still, it stung knowing he’d almost had him back.

THE RETURN OF THE TRANSMISSIONS PROJECT
I can’t begin to tell you how happy and excited I am about this long-awaited turn of events.
Two years ago, as many of you probably know, I started this massive multi-editor project called The Transmissions Project – also known as TTP. An entire album spanning the course of one hour, edited by all of us. This project aimed to bring together editors to work on something never seen before in the community. And, for the most part, the whole thing was a great success!
During post-production, however, everything went horribly wrong.
Both my laptop and the external hard drive that held this project in its entirety corrupted, and I lost EVERYTHING (and not just TTP, but 6 years-worth of my own personal work). I had never been more devastated. I believed we could recover it if we worked together, but it didn’t come to pass. I left the community for a while to gather my thoughts and redirect my creative outlets – I needed time to grieve for TTP (I’m laughing right now; it doesn’t feel so dramatic anymore) as well as focus on real life stuff.
But I never threw that hard drive away. I believed I could fix it – I believed I could do SOMETHING. For the past few years, on and off, I tinkered with that hard drive. I came close a couple of times to restoring all the files, but many of them were still irreparable. In the meantime, I had to announce the official cancellation of the project, which broke my heart even more. If you’re wondering why this was so devastating for me, it’s because this was an idea I’d had for a LONG time. It had always been one of my main goals and I had almost achieved it – and failed. And I felt like I had failed all the editors who stuck by me through the project and put in so much time and hard work.
People were asking me about TTP – what happened to it? Can we fix it? Do you need any help? Will we ever see the finished video? And I had to keep turning you all away, even though I appreciated all of the concern and support that I received in regards to this project. I’ll be forever grateful for that!
And then, for the first time in a long while, someone mentioned TTP. And my brain went into overdrive. I decided to give it one more try, and if it didn’t work then I was willing to give up on it for good. It took over 24 hours, two recovery data programs, and a lot of perseverance. Finally, The Transmissions Project had been completely recovered, and after a month of pulling it together it’s here for all of you to see.
I could not be more happy and excited that this project finally sees the light of day, and that everyone’s hard work has ultimately paid off. This video was made by the editors for the editors, and one of my goals throughout this was to bring editors of all different skill sets to the forefront and work together as one. I feel like this is an achievement to be truly proud of.
That being said, I’d like to make a few disclaimers:
During the project’s recovery, a total of 8 parts were lost. If you recognise any of these parts as ones you originally edited, then I offer my apologies. Not only did I lose the complete list of participants, and therefore could not find the original editor, but it was easier to replace the parts myself. This does not discredit your participation.
If you recognise any of your parts to be of lower quality than when you made them, then I apologise again. During the recovery process, and putting it all together, some files suffered and I couldn’t find a way to fix them.
Some audio throughout the video is not as smooth as I originally intended. Again, this is a result of recovering the files, and I had to work with what I had as best as I could. I made a conscious decision to take out some parts between songs that didn’t work anymore, or that I had lost the original audio files for. To save time, I did not feel the need to start the audio files from scratch, and I personally think it turned out pretty well.
Last but not least, if you took part in this project and want to be credited, please tell me in the comments so that I can add you to the list and pin it at the top of the comments section. I lost the participant list and a lot of names have changed since then, so I would like to make sure that everyone is credited for what they have done in this project.
I would like to give a big thank you to my partners in crime – Zombie and Thea – for all of the help and support they have given me since I recovered this project. Not only did you guys help me to replace missing parts, but you shared excitement and enthusiasm with me in getting this project back on track, and pointed me in the right direction for everything I could need to make putting this thing together as easy as possible. I don’t know what I would do without you both!
Well, guys, it’s been a long and tasking journey. Getting to this point has been super emotional and frustrating for me, and once I’d finished watching the whole thing through I actually teared up. I’m so glad I didn’t give up – it took a long time, but here we are, and here it is. The Transmissions Project in its entirety. Thank you, and enjoy.
(Post-upload note: Unfortunately, the hour long version would not work on youtube, so it has been cut into 3 parts. It’s not how I wanted it go, but at this point I’ll take it.)

this is going to be like a very long, detailed, and mostly my personal observations and notes. as it was my first time seeing neymar and the brazil nt in person, i want to remember everything i can while its still fresh. it was a very exciting and at the same time surreal experience because i see those people all the time on tv games and now there they were few feet away from me...
i took the photos and videos. i am usually pretty good at that but i guess the excitement got the better of me because they did not come out fabulous. tumblr is being stupid with not letting me upload more then one video in a post, and i wanted everything together, so i ended up putting them up on youtube.
the hotel 9/3/2018.
so first i went to the hotel (very close to where i live) on monday 9/3. as it was labor day, i was off work and at a bbq/pool party abt 10 miles from home for the day. brazil nt was scheduled to leave the hotel for their first training at 4pm so i left the party early and, after some traffic drama, made it to the hotel little after 3.40pm. there were not too many people so i had a decent view but i also moved around a bit. some of the support staff was coming out already. a few minutes later, firmino was the first i saw, he waved and went straight to the bus.
Tumblr media
then a group of marquinhos, douglas costa, fabinho etc came out together. only marquinhos paid any attention to the fans, waving and smiling but didnt stop.
Tumblr media
then another group, including casemiro.
Tumblr media
then alisson came out. he was really sweet, smiled, stopped with the fans, signed stuff. interacted the most of anyone else with the fans.
Tumblr media
then another group - i think richarlison (idk him really), filipe luis, thiago silva. thiago was just as nice as alisson, stopped with the fans, signed stuff. he looked to me a bit shorter irl then on tv...
Tumblr media
willian came out alone next.
Tumblr media
at this point, it was almost 4pm, my excitement had totally built up and i was so anxious to see my boy ney. i started thinking that maybe he will get there separately cuz i hadnt seen coutinho and tite either. but there he was! coming out last with barely a minute to spare before 4pm (the timestamp on my photo is 3:58:59pm lol). he was the very last one to come out, chewing on something, with his typical swagger. he waved but didnt stop and the bus left as soon as he got on. he looked just as hot in person as on tv, the cameras dont lie lol. really handsome and very very sexy! i mean, i expected it, i have seen his photos lol but omg he looks so damn good you cant help those dirty thoughts! i felt like an absolute fangirl! this is neither here or there, but he looked to me a little bigger then i expected. just kinda...fuller?
Tumblr media
i only took one photo of him cuz i wanted to look at him with my own eyes rather than thru the camera ;)
it was such an incredible experience seeing neymar and the rest of the guys in person so close that i was shaking after! like for real my hands were shaking, my legs were shaking. and i couldnt stop grinning for a good half an hour after. i went to the boardwalk to calm down a bit and just absorb the experience. people passing by probably thought im crazy or reading love letters on my phone or something cuz i just couldnt stop grinning but i didnt give a flying fuck what they were thinking - i had just seen neymar!
my notes and impressions:
1. OMFG I SAW NEYMAR FROM FEW FEET AWAY. just that, my brain was really way too frazzled to process any other impressions lol
the game 9/7/2018
so after some c. drama, despite my initial hopes, i had accepted that i am not going to go to the game. and then the day before i find out I AM GOING!!! i was so freaked out with excitement lol!!!
getting there was so frustrating! first i had forgot to charge my phone before leaving work so i only had like 30% which was nowhere near good enough for my plans of copious pics and vids. so i had to run into a bodega to buy a charger for the car. then for some complicated reason we had to leave from the ues and fucking DRIVE. crosstown. on a friday. at 6pm. straight thru freakin time square with its gazillion tourists. on top of rush hour. even though the schedule said 8pm, the tickets said the event starts at 7.30 and i wanted to be there early to see the warmups and at 7.02 we were still not even inside lincoln tunnel ffs! i was FUMING and ready to jump outta the car and start yelling at the other cars to get a goddamn fucking move on i got places to be people to see! just ugh. so frustrating. the only upside of taking so long to get to the stadium was that by the time we got there my phone was almost 100%...
anyway, finally at 7.25pm we got there and thru all the checks etc (my joke of a miniature purse was shown as an example to another girl with a slightly bigger purse and praised by security for being perfect size which pissed me off because of their dumbass rules it had is smaller then my regular WALLET ffs and it barely even fits my phone so in no way is it a ‘perfect size’ except maybe for dolls or tiny aliens. but they had the stupid clear bag / tiny purse rule in effect and all i cared at that point was getting in so whatever. still, fucking terrorists. obviously also for more important reasons than just being the cause of my having to have a tiny purse but yeah fucking terrorists).
the stadium was buzzing already. apparently the 7.30 start was for the warmups so perfect for me. this was the view from our seats.
Tumblr media
when we got to our seats, the usa team was out already. and the canarinho was interacting with fans. and then brazil came out.
youtube
ney was warming up with coutinho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
after stretches, he did some practice shooting. this one didnt go in.
Tumblr media
after that the team went back inside and the canarinho came behind the barriers to interact with the fans (photo below especially taken for a.)
Tumblr media
time for the teams to come out. for some reason the tunnel was on my side of the stadium but the benches were on the other side and they lined up there for the anthems. (again, for a.)
youtube
youtube
then the us anthem and, since we dont do things here on a small scale, the flag rolled out was the size of the whole stadium lol
Tumblr media
in the first half neymar was playing in front of me. in the beginning of the game i took a few photos and then i stopped because i wanted to watch the game and see with my own eyes not concentrate on the phone... still, here they are
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
here is the penalty. i didnt catch it go in because i was looking at it happening rather then my phone. i also removed the sound cuz there was screaming when it went in lol. it was a VERY soft penalty btw...
youtube
my notes and impressions:
1. it was a friendly so not surprisingly, it was not an edge-of-your-seat game. still brazil dominated the crap out of the usa team. the difference in class and quality was glaringly obvious.
2. it was strange not supporting my country’s team. but only when i thought about it. otherwise my soccering heart belongs to brazil 100%, without a doubt.
3. watching a game live vs tv: both have pros and cons. again, after watching every week on tv, seeing these guys live in person is simply incredible. just absolutely surreal. like, they are moving, running, kicking right in front of you. you can hear the ball being kicked. feel the tension. see what they are doing without the ball. watch their interactions away from the camera. feel the power of the crowd. its just so much more immersive. at the same time, watching at home the curated game content is... convenient. you get closeups. you get facts from the commentators. your bathroom is nearby (i did carefully time my liquid intake that day to avoid venturing into stadium bathrooms and thank god it worked lol). so imo, watching a game on tv is not really that much worse then watching it live. i always felt like i am getting a completely filtered version on tv and it is filtered but it is not horrible. yes, you are missing out on stuff but its not a total loss.
4. the stadium was about 40% full, 32k of 82k capacity. but it felt more like 2/3, probably because on the other side many sections were not even open so most everyone attending was spread out in one long side and the two goal sides.
5. brazil fans were out strong! i’d say about 70% of the people were brazil fans, and of those about 90% had on brazil jerseys. yellow galore lol. the usa fans were constantly chanting but when the brazil fans decided to make the effort they drowned them out easily and completely!
6. the usa fans were in the section behind one of the goals. throughout most of the game i thought oh cute they are constantly singing their hearts out supporting their clearly outplayed loosing team. then they did iceland’s viking chant. yes, it is a cool chant but its iceland’s. idk why so many have been plagiarizing it! first portugal did it in the wc, then i saw another, and now the american outlaws (the usa ultras)... let iceland have its thing people. i did not appreciate it but no big deal. BUT then they did something that pissed me off - few minutes before neymar was substituted in the 80 min they chanted fuck neymar. i was not best pleased to say the least! lick sweaty balls jealous motherfuckers!
7. we did a wave that went around the stadium like 4 times!
8. there was a small group of 13-14yo girls right behind us that whenever ney touched the ball or looked our way screamed ‘neymaaaarrr, neymaaaaarrrrrrrr, vaiiiiiii, vai neymaaaaaaarrrrrrrr’. one girl in particular was especially shrill and vociferous in her dedication to ney. no sense of decorum whatsoever lol. my bf was smirking at me and was like why dont you go sit with them. i on the other hand was thinking that while i wouldnt go sit with them, if some of my tumblr girls were here.... well those girls wouldnt even know what hit them!
9. i would definitely go to a game again!
10. while the seats we had were really good, i wish there was an option to be even closer and still see the whole pitch. then again, for me it would probably only qualify as ‘close enough’ if im allowed to run along the sidelines lol. but then i wont really be able to watch the game. (hey maybe i can hang from the skycam hahaaaa!). yes, i am a neymar fan but i am also a fan of the game so i want both. i did not have any input in the choice of these seats but i think it was a good trade off - the closest where you can both see the guys and actual game. if i have to pick the tickets for the next game (hopefully i will go again some time!), i would be tempted by the lower levels but the barriers are pretty high so... i would probably go for the same - second level first row.
11. there was a guy sitting next to me with his date and he was trying to be all knowledgeable and impress the girl but half the stuff he was telling her was wrong lol! he kept pointing to douglas costa and telling her its firmino. i was cracking myself up listening to him talk complete bullshit but with such grand authority about technical game stuff.
12. at some point a loose ball ended up into the stands, some guy caught it, and 2 min later security came to take it away from him :/ why not let the guy just keep the ball?!? stupid. if it was me, i’d have made a fuss, maybe pretended that it hit me in the face and threatened to sue the stadium cuz they have not ensured the spectators’ safety or some such crap lol. see if they dont let me keep it to avoid a lawsuit.
13. the canarinho (for a.) - he was really great! interacting with the fans, dancing, hugging fans. really a fantastic mascot and absolute joy to watch! during the halftime he was out on the pitch, doing keepie uppies (in those shoes too!!! showing his brazilianness lol), and kicking balls into the stands
14. i was totally impressed by neymar. it was just so obvious how good he is and no, not because i am biased, which i admittedly am. i expected him to be good, duh, but to see it so clearly was amazing. he is not a fluke, he is the real deal. he stands out among even such quality peers as the rest of brazil nt! just something in the way he interacts with the ball, the way he moves, ‘sees’ his teammates without looking, turns on a dime, does the unexpected. i dont think he ‘thinks’ or ‘calculates’ at all his moves or that it is just a lot of practice, i think it is pure instinct in the moment, i.e. phenomenal natural talent. even though this was not one of his greatest games for sure, he just looked... special and different from the rest. most of the brazil players were displaying their clearly high quality but there is just something unique in the way neymar plays. even if you dont know who he is, what teams are playing, anything at all, you’d still pick him out and know that there is something extraordinary about this guy. if you unfocus your eyes so you see just all same yellow shirt figures, you would still be able to pick out which one is neymar. he did a bit of his skills and tricks and of course i wished he had done more. what i took away from watching him play live was that, in this average game, he looked as good playing live as he has in the past when i have watched his great games on tv. i dont know why. but watching neymar play live was an experience of its own. it felt like his average ‘live’ performance is as good as his great ‘tv’. i cant even imagine what it would be like watching one of his great performances live. while i dont feel im loosing so much watching games on tv vs live as mentioned above, i definitely feel that watching neymar in particular play live is on another level and im missing out when i watch him on tv instead of live. he is absolutely worth the price of admission. i was so disappointed in him for his wc antics but thats in the past now, and i have been reminded how right it feels to be his fan, not just for the nice things he does for kids/charity, his fun personality (and lets not forget the good looks, and oh boy they are SO GOOD lol) but his undeniably outstanding talent on the pitch. his game is just incredible. i hope he keeps healthy. i hope he gets his temper under control not just for a few games but for good. and i pray he always has the freedom to shine like he rightfully can. i am rooting for him to get the appreciation and acknowledgement he deserves, unadulterated by behavioral issues or personal drama.
ok, imma stop now. this post is huge, even by my standards.

Now regardless what brand we’re talking about: there’s always this sweet spot. The place where price and quality meet in the right proportions. When the Umidigi Z Pro was launched, it was far from this sweet spot. In fact, eventhough it had a fast processor and two decent camera sensors built in it was a dissaster!
And it was a dissaster happening at anything but a convenient time. His predecessor the UMi Z was just getting horrible press due to swollen batteries, an OTA software update that led the phone to brick completely and the always absent customer support of UMi/ Umidigi. In short: Not a good year for the UMi Company.
In fact one might come to the conclusion it was such a bad year that they even decided to rebrand. The name Umidigi appeared and with it the newest (or first so you will) Umidigi “flagship” the Umidigi Z Pro. Launched just a couple of months after the UMi Z, there was hardly any change to notice from the outside. Except the UMi Z made it look like it had two rear camera’s when in fact one of the two was the (tremendously failing) laser focus lens. The Z Pro came with two actual rear camera’s. In fact it sports the very decent Sony IMX258 sensors which have known to produce stunning results…
But sadly, in other brands phones! Because the Umidigi software buffs and engineers somehow didn’t manage to produce similar quality pictures and videos. However it might have been, considering the high quality camera sensors, the Mediatek Helio X27 (one of the fastest processors out there those days) and the 4000 mAh battery Umidigi dubbed the Z Pro their latest “flagship” and slapped a price-tag between 250 to 275 euro on the device. Since they were obviously in a hurry to rebrand, the Z Pro had to launch quickly, thus leaving an entire first generation customers to be beta-testers. Paying beta-testers even!
So much for the history of the Umidigi Z Pro. Now, like I said in the very beginning there is this sweet spot, when price and what you get for it are just in the right proportion. Well since Umidigi is launching a new “flagship” like every forthnight these days there has been a price drop. This means you can order the Umidigi Z Pro for anywhere between 129 and 150 euro now. But wait a minute? Why would I want to buy a bugprone phone that had the worst of press even if its half the original price now? If that’s the question you’re about to ask then read on. I will try to explain:
First let’s address some of the complaints about the original, first batch of Umidigi Z Pro phones. The battery life was terrible 3.5 to 4 hrs SoT, even though it was packing a 4000mAh battery. The camera had focus issues, and some customers were only able to use the monochrome camera if the wanted to shoot anything besides macro shots. It wasn’t able to view HD YouTube or Netflix feeds, which even last year, was rather sad. And the fingerprint scanner would respond randomly if at all. And ofcourse many cases of freezing. When we look at this severe list of problems we can conclude two things. The first obviously being the fact this phone should in NO WAY have been released already. And secondly: Given the quality of materials used (Sony Camera, Samsung RAM etc etc) and the mentioned list one can conclude the problem is in the software!
And this is the good news! Simply because most of those things can be fixed with software updates. And they did! Now let’s jump to 2018 and find that as soon as you start the phone up it offers you several OTA updates. Now truth be told it’s always a feeling like russian roulette to agree to an Umidigi update, but in the case of the Z Pro they were actually useful, and working flawlessly! So now, we have this light aluminium gun greyish body. A beautiful 2.5D screen with an oleophobic layer that’s running on Android 7.1, and that immediately impoved the battery life. So now it’s actually useable. Which is nice. They also improved the performance of the camera and some other bugs and glitches have been taken care of. So now, is it a perfect phone?
No, it’s not, but it’s a decent phone for a 140 euro price and it comes in this cool metal box, with this cool red charger cable. It’s got an iPhone 7 Plus/ OnePlus 5 vibe going on, and you can tell all your buddies your phone has a tencore chip. It might sound sarcastic and ofcourse I am, but truth is every thing looks slick and well build. The problem here was and remains the software. That being said with the updates installed, the Umidigi Z Pro is a pretty decent phone at it’s price. It runs on a Helio X27 decacore processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. Yet it’s impossible to get over 96K on the AnTuTu benchmark out of it.
Thanks to the update to Android Nougat the fingerprint scanner is flawless and fast and it’s able to hold the charge for 5 to 6 hours which again, is not what you would expect of a 4000mAh battery. But it’s almost twice as long as before the update, so definitely an improvement. Gaming is no problem on the Umidigi Z Pro and it can handle most of the games without any graphical problems. What I did notice though was the temperature of the phone is constantly very high. This hasn’t lead to any problems in the two weeks I used it. Maybe it can be related to the placement of the chipset.
Then, there is the camera. It certainly has improved after the update, but it still has some flaws too. Flaws that I personally would find inexcuseable in a 250-buck-flagship-phone, but are perfectly willing to deal with at a 130-140 euro price tag. The two main cons I consider to be the low light performance, that is … basically absent. Which might not sound like a big deal since a lot oof budget phones have trouble in low light. But here’s the thing: A) devices are getting better and anno 2018 even (some) low budget phones can shoot decent footage in the dark. And B) These phone don’t have a build-in camera option named “SUPER NIGHT MODE”. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that sounds promising. But the results are just migraine inducing, look at these examples:
These pics are supposed to be shot in “Super Night Mode” You judge….
Another thing on the camera of the Umidigi Z Pro is the dynamic range. At moments it’s perfectly on top of things. Yet shoot a second picture just seconds later and it’s a proper mess. Another equally mysterious phenomenon is the bokeh- or portrait mode. In one picture it seperates subject from the background just perfectly, the next shot is a mess again. Luckily it has an option to refocus after the shot has been taken. This can make up for some of the software’s mistakes, but sometimes even refocussing won’t help you out. Let me show you some “highlights” of dual camera missers:
Here you can see the camera struggling. Dynamic range is not the best
Some examples of bokeh software not knowing what to do
So, what you are saying it’s an okay  phone for it’s price that’s well build, it just doesn’t have a good camera…right? Well… No. See and this is what did my head in reviewing this smartphone, it is able to shoot some incredible looking pictures. The monochrome mode is just stunning, and I was able to make some lovely shots with it. If the conditions are right it’s a great camera. Just make sure you’re always making more than one picture of whatever you want to save. It has a zoom-option that also is great to use. The shutter speed is absolutely fantastic and I was able to catch my kids jumping in mid-air on several occassions. So no complaints there.
Lovely Monochrome shot
Okay portait shot
And even a good one
But as soon as the lights go low, you might as well forget you’re even carrying a camera. Unless your using the flash you can forget anything will turn out other than grainy and blurry. Video camera, same problems. The colours, the sharpness..everything looks great, but there’s no continuous auto focus meaning you have to tap the screen every time you move. And it lacks any form of stabilisation, so better not breathe or footage will be shaky. If you dont move and have steady hands however, the camera shoots lovely pictures. So you see my problem here? For every pro there is a con and the other way around. And that goes for everything. No joke.
Take the speaker, volume is way above average, great in a noisy environment, unfortunately the sound quality is below mediocre. The fast charger is a fast charger, yet it charges other 4000mAh phones FASTER than the phone it came with: The Umidigi Z Pro. That being said, it charges fast enough to not be annoying, but you know, it’s all those little tiny things together that still make me not sure. One thing I am sure of is the price drop was a great move and much more fitting to the phone. Would I recommend it? That depends on who’s asking. Are you not a heavy use but1.) still want a phone that has a good build and is not too slow? 2.) looking for a good, modern looking phone in the iPhone/OnePlus-look  The Umidigi Z Pro might be a great phone for you.
If however you are a heavy user and want more than a 50-60% succes rate when taking pictures, you might want to skip the Umidigi Z Pro altogether. After all  heavy use and a relatively fast heating chip usually aren’t the best of friends in the long end. Just consider the fact you might also get a Meizu M6S or a Nubia M2 for the same price, those might be better alternatives.  As always I conclude with some picture samples shot on the Umidigi Z Pro. Enjoy.
The Umidigi Z Pro: Failing Flagship to decent Budget Phone Now regardless what brand we're talking about: there's always this sweet spot. The place where price and quality meet in the right proportions.

Let Me In, Ch. 2
An Antisepticeye and eventual septiplier fanfic.
Previous.
Summary: It had been really fun to build Anti up for the whole Halloween takeover event, but that was over and done with. So why the hell was Jack hearing voices now?
Word count: 1703
Rating: T
Contains: Violence, paranoia, suspense, hallucinations.
Next.
/ / /
Jack could tell that he had overslept.
It was bright in his room, the light filtering through his plain curtains brighter than normal mornings. Jack shot awake with a start, only to curl in on himself with a gasp of pain. If he had felt bad the night before, he was absolutely feeling horrible now. His entire body was sore and aching in odd places, and his brief tumble down the stairs couldn’t quite cover it. And curiously, Jack still felt exhausted, as though he hadn’t gotten any sleep at all. He was now more tired than when he had gone to bed in the first place.
Glancing to the clock, Jack’s breath caught in his throat. He had less than an hour if he wanted to get his video up on time. He snatched up his phone, where it sat on his side table, trying to figure out why the alarm hadn’t gone off in the first place. The screen remained dark.
“Damn it,” Jack swore aloud. He blamed YouTube for making him talk to himself.
He fumbled for his charger, trying to plug it in so he could bring his phone back to life. He couldn’t believe that he had forgotten to do so the night before. It was part of his evening ritual before he went to bed to make sure he had everything prepared, including making sure his phone was charging so the alarm could go off in the morning. Jack sighed. Obviously he had been much more tired than he thought to have overlooked something so damn obvious.
Jack threw off his covers, eager to get to his recording space to get his video up on time. He almost never missed his schedule, consistently uploading his videos like clockwork, and feeling a bit under the weather was no excuse to be late. He had said as much in his videos, reassuring his fans that even if he was in a sour mood or felt like crap, he would still do his best to provide quality content. He had no intentions of going back on that promise, especially with the start of the new year.
He swayed briefly once on two feet, a sudden rush of nausea overcoming him, but ultimately he shrugged it off. He made it to the bathroom, cringing when he saw his appearance in the mirror. The entire portion of his left face, extending from his brow to his hairline, was covered in a darkening bruise. The dark reddish hue was a stark contrast to his otherwise pale skin, and Jack sighed. There was no way to ignore it or brush it off. It was way too noticeable.
He quickly splashed water on himself, being particularly gentle around the bruise, as Jack hurried to get ready. Normally he’d make himself a pot of coffee first thing upon waking, but there was simply no time for that now. He practically staggered out of his bathroom across the hall to his office, sitting heavily down in his swivel chair. Jack booted up his monitors, and upon seeing the email from Robin with the edited version of the video he had sent him the previous day, Jack sent a silent prayer of thanks to his editor. Robin truly was a blessing, and with him taking some of the burden from Jack, it freed up a lot of extra time for him. Plus, it just made things easier in general.
Jack looked over the fifteen minute video, double-checking it to make sure it flowed well and there were no errors before uploading it. He repeated the process for the second video, only queueing it to upload a couple hours after the first. Jack then set about to record a new video, slightly hesitant. While his videos for that day would have the normal Jack, the videos he would record for tomorrow would feature a bruised-up Jack. He knew Robin was sure to ask about it, and Jack would just have to shrug it off and chalk it up to him being a clumsy loaf. His fans, however, would be a much different story. He remembered how things blew up for Marina Joyce when people thought abuse was a factor for her. Jack shivered. He hoped that nothing like that would happen. After all, it was just a minor mishap on the stairs. That was normal, right? It happened.
With a reluctant sigh, Jack booted up Subnautica and started his recording. It was best to just get these types of things over with.
/ / /
Robin had messaged Jack back not two minutes after he sent the recorded footage of Subnautica.
He hadn’t really wanted to reply, but there was no way to avoid it. He just wasn’t quite sure what to say. Apparently Jack was taking too long to answer, if the jingle of the Skype call was anything to go by. The tune gave Jack a start, who after a brief moment of hesitation, clicked on the little green icon.
“What the hell happened to your face, Jack?” Well, it seemed like Robin wanted to get straight to the point, then.
Jack rolled his eyes, trying not to bite back a reply. His friend was just worried, after all. “It’s Seán, dick.” That earned a small laugh from the other, as the two often joked about what to call Jack. “Anyways, I’m fine. If you had watched the first minute of the video you would have heard the explanation I gave to the fans.”
“Yeah, well, that’s the explanation for the fans,” Robin reasoned easily, “I wanted to hear it from you.”
And that had Jack sighing. He had gone over it rather quickly on the recording, not wanting to get too into the details. Robin deserved a proper explanation. “It’s nothing, really.” That didn’t mean Jack was going to give Robin a proper explanation. “Just fell down my stairs.”
Apparently that was the wrong thing to say, as Robin’s eyes narrowed suspiciously. “That doesn’t sound like nothing to me. How did that even happen?”
Jack bit his lip, not wanting to breach the subject of how Jack had been hearing voices. Well, voice, really. Singular. Only one voice. Still, that wasn’t something he wanted to advertise with his friends. “I just re-waxed my stairs last weekend, and my socks slipped on the wood,” Jack lied quickly, though he looked off to the side, not able to meet his friend’s concerned gaze.
Robin seemed to buy it, leaning back in his own chair with a sigh. “Damn, Seán. Be more careful.”
“I will,” Jack said in a small voice, heart clenching. Robin was too nice to him.
After the call Jack headed downstairs, removing his socks beforehand out of nerves. He hadn’t heard any voices since waking up, which was good, meaning that the sleep had definitely helped. Still, he could never be too careful. He’d rather not go tumbling down his stairs again. In the kitchen, Jack started a pot of coffee and thought about making some toast and eggs. Though it technically wasn’t breakfast anymore, Jack wanted to try and do his normal morning routine properly, including his breakfast meal with coffee.
The scent of freshly brewed dark roast flooded Jack’s senses, and he relaxed slightly with a sigh. The warmth settled nicely in his body, and Jack hummed pleasantly. He had been so on edge since waking, unsure how to tackle the odd events of the evening prior, though the coffee seemed to help with his nerves, if only slightly. Slightly was still better than none at all, though. Jack felt his eyes drooping, and he quickly set down his mug to keep from dropping it. He was still so damn tired despite sleeping nearly twelve hours. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of that.
Whatever appetite Jack had worked up was gone now, which deeply concerned him. Sometimes he got too worked up in his recordings and accidentally skipped a meal, but him just being flat out not hungry was definitely not normal.
He grabbed his mug again, heading back upstairs to his recording room to get on with the day, figuring he’d just eat a bigger meal later to compensate for skipping breakfast. A sharp pain flared up in his left eye and Jack doubled over with a cry, the half filled mug of coffee shattering easily on the wooden steps. His hand reached up automatically to cover his eye, tears leaking out from the pain. Jack bit his lip. His eye felt like it was on fire.
He raced up the rest of the stairs, broken coffee mug mess forgotten as he made for the bathroom. Jack wondered briefly if the bruise on that side of his face had anything to do with it but, pushed that thought away. A simple bruise wouldn’t cause pain of this magnitude.
In the washroom, Jack ducked his head under the tap, turning it on and splashing water on it as one would do if they got chemicals in their eye. That’s what it felt like to him, anyways, some kind of chemical burn. It was impossible, but the pain was definitely real. The heated sensation began to fade as the water continued to run, and Jack heaved a sigh of relief. He wasn’t sure what the fuck caused that, but it was damn painful.
Turning off the tap, Jack straightened to look at himself in the mirror. He frowned slightly, grabbing a hand towel to dry his face. There was something off about his reflection, he just couldn’t place it. He placed the towel over his full face, giving himself a quick pat down. As he removed it, Jack noticed the way the eyes, his eyes, were watching him so intently. There was a toothy grin on the face in the reflection, one that Jack was sure he wasn’t making.
And then the laughing returned, in his voice, the lips in the mirror moving as though they were the source of the laughter. It was loud, ringing, and right in his ears, and all Jack could do was watch in horror as his own reflection was acting as though it were a different being.
Jack screamed.

Gentle Giants Dog Food Review
https://www.centralparkpaws.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/51zup9nnI4L.jpg I happened on Gentle Giants dog food by accident.
I was playing around on the computer and came upon a video clip from the Ellen Degeneres show.
In the clip, Ellen is interviewing Burt Ward, formerly known as Robin from the Batman and Robin Show from the 60’s.
What grabbed my attention was not the former actor, but instead the picture in the background of two dogs. One of the dogs featured was twenty-four years old, and the other was twenty-seven!
The even more amazing thing was that the dogs were large breeds. One was a Chow, and the other looked like a long-haired Greyhound.
youtube
Back to show: Burt and his wife, Tracey Posner Ward, started Gentle Giants Rescue in 1994[1]. Although Gentle Giants initially opened to rescue large breed dogs, it has since expanded and now includes dogs of all sizes.
After the start of their dog rescue, the Wards had a specially formulated dog food created.
They fed this newly formulated food to their dogs as well as those they rescued for several years before they launched it commercially in 2008.
The Wards contribute the long lives of their dogs partly to the Gentle Giants dog food.
Burt stated in an interview with Inventors Digest that they, “invented something that changes, lengthens, and improves the lives of dogs.”[2]
With a claim like that and pictures of dogs in their twenties, they had me intrigued.
I started to research both the Gentle Giant’s company as well as the food they produce, and here is what I found.
What’s in Gentle Giants’ Dog Food?
There are two different dry dog food formulas:
World Class Canine Nutrition Chicken Feast
World Class Canine Nutrition Salmon Feast
Both recipes are free of wheat, soy, dairy, and corn, which can be ingredients to look out for when choosing a dog food.
Also, many of the vegetables and fruits are free of GMOs.
Gentle Giants Chicken Feast Dry Dog Food Formula
This food is made up of a mix of chicken meal, menhaden fish meal, grains, vegetables, fruits, herbs, nutrients and vitamins, and prebiotics and probiotics.
What I like about the Ingredients
The variety of superfoods, like cranberries, blueberries, sweet potatoes, and kelp, all of which aid in boosting the immune system.
The mix of grains such as pearled barley, brown rice, and oatmeal, which help to maintain a healthy weight and digestive system[3].
The added prebiotics, and probiotics for digestive health.
The guaranteed analysis reflects:
Crude Protein 22% (Min.)
Crude Fat 9% (Min.)
Crude Fiber 4% (Max.)
This formula is a bit lower in protein than other foods, but not uncommonly so.
The fat content is also lower than similar brands, but the amount of fiber is average.
Gentle Giants Salmon Feast Dry Dog Food Formula
This formula is grain free, egg free, and more allergy friendly.
Also, glucosamine and chondroitin have been added to this formula, to promote good joint health.
What I like about the Ingredients
Just like the chicken recipe, I like the superfoods, prebiotics, and probiotics in this food.
But in addition to these ingredients, the salmon recipe has even more vegetables.
The guaranteed analysis reflects:
Crude Protein 24% (Min.)
Crude Fat 10% (Min.)
Crude Fiber 5% (Max.)
The salmon formula is slightly higher in protein, fat, and fiber than the chicken formula, so would be the better choice for dogs needing more protein and a grain-free diet.
What Makes Gentle Giants Different Other Dry Dog Food Brands
Most dog foods will have common components, but some dog foods have ingredients or other characteristics that make them stand out from their competition.
These make Gentle Giants stand out:
A larger quantity of superfoods in both formulas
Dried fruits and vegetables which retain vital nutrients
Enhanced with probiotics and prebiotics
Economically priced at around a dollar per pound
Hypoallergenic option available
What People are Saying about Gentle Giants Dry Dog Food
This dog says, “Nom!”
I like reading reviews on products before investing.
There are always those who swear by the product and those who warn against it, but I look for common threads within the reviews.
Here’s what I found about Gentle Giants.
The reviews I read are from three different retailers and not from the Gentle Giant website.
Pros
Senior dogs are more energetic after eating this food
Allergies clear up
Skin and coat appear to be healthier
Some dogs love the flavor
Longer life
Have an older dog but Gentle Giants won’t work for you? Check out the best foods for senior dogs!
Cons
Can cause GI upset, vomiting, soft stool, or diarrhea
Some dogs don’t like the taste
Price consistency, different retailers are selling the food at varied prices
Damaged packaging
Not all reviews are in regards to the product. Sometimes there are reviews about the purchasing experience and have nothing to do with the product itself, yet those reviews still impact the overall rating.
The average rating found from the three retailers was 4.6 out of 5.0.
There were 1,324 reviews that made up this rating.
There were many more positive comments than negative.
I read all of the 1-star reviews to see what made people so unsatisfied with the product.
There was nothing unusual about the concerns people wrote regarding the 1-star reviews. Indeed, all of the complaints were ones commonly found in all dog food reviews.
What I Liked about Gentle Giants Dry Dog Food
Several aspects impress me about both the Gentle Giants dog food and the company that makes it.
First and foremost, is the claim that this food can help your dog live longer[4].
Really, who wouldn’t want to see their dog still alive and active in its twenties?
Second, I like the ingredient lists.
The lack of unique carbohydrates and the abundance of superfoods appeals to me. Also, the guaranteed analysis is more in line with my dogs’ needs.
Third, they have a hypoallergenic formula, so even Sophie can eat it.
Fourth, the price. Currently, we pay almost $4 per pound for a different dog food.
Fifth, since launching this food in 2008, there has yet to be a recall on their food.
My Biggest Complaints about Gentle Giants Dog Food
I have four complaints.
First, it is not readily available at local stores.
I know buying online makes things easier, but when I buy dog food, I like to purchase it from the store.
If my dogs don’t eat the food, I can always return it and pick something else up for them.
Second, the salmon formula only comes in one size, 18 lbs. I wanted to go with something smaller because again I don’t know if my dogs will like it or not.
Third, the name is misleading.
It makes it sound like the food is for large breeds, and though that is why the company started, the food is a well-balanced diet for any dog breed.
Fourth, I think dog food bags should be resealable and this one isn’t.
Recommendation
My recommendation is to try Gentle Giants dog food.
I bought two bags, one bag of the chicken formula and one bag of the salmon.
It has not arrived yet, but it should be here in a day or two.
Even if my dogs don’t like it or if it causes GI upset, I would still recommend this food.
Not all foods agree with my dogs’ GI systems or palates. That doesn’t make the food bad, it just means it is not the right choice for my family.
I think there are enough positive reviews to make it worth trying.
Plus, I like the ingredient lists, and I love that there hasn’t been a recall.

Alternative Choices to Gentle Giants Dog Food
There are a lot of high-quality dog foods on the market.
Here are my top five dog food brand choices for both grain-free foods and foods with grains:
Grain-Free:
Orijen
Farmina
Natural Balance
Wellness CORE
Taste of the Wild
With Grains:
Farmina
Fromm
Wellness
Solid Gold
Natural Balance
Updated Experiences and Conclusion
So, a fun thing just happened. The food arrived!
Literally, as I was about to type the conclusion to this article, the dogs started barking, and the delivery guy dropped a large box off on our front stoop.
I was so excited that I opened the box and had my dogs each sample a ½ cup of the food.
Here’s what happened:
I offered the chicken formula to Calvin. First, he turned up his nose, but when I set the salmon down in front of him, he gobbled it up!
Second, I offered the chicken recipe to Ginger. She liked it a lot; in fact, she was eating so fast I had to do another round of pictures since the first ones came out blurry!
She definitely didn’t complain when I offered her more kibble!
Third, Sophie. She LOVED it!  She literally licked the bowl clean!
Finally, Daisy. She’s my pickiest eater of the pack.  She not only cleaned her bowl, but she requested seconds!
For her that’s amazing!
Are there any other dog foods which passed the Daisy test? NomNomNow did!
It is obviously too soon to tell if there will be any GI issues, or if there are any changes in energy, lifespan, or even if they will eat it again.
But I will say that I am over the moon that they liked it!!!
In this household of picky eaters, I don’t remember when the last time they all finished the food in their bowls, so for me, this is a HUGE win!!!
Also, I have three observations about this food.
First, Gentle Giants advertise that the food is not greasy and that’s a true statement.
Second, it doesn’t have a horrible smell. Some dog foods stink, especially the fish verities; these don’t smell bad at all.
Third, the size of the kibble would work for most breeds.
So, as I sit here at this moment, I would recommend this food, especially for dogs that are picky eaters.

GreenGeeks review | TechRadar
Go shopping for a web host and environmental concerns probably aren’t high on your list of priorities, but maybe it’s time for that to change. Web Neutral Project founder Jack Amend calculates that powering the average website produces 4,500 pounds of CO2 a year, equivalent to driving the average new car for more than 10,000 miles.
Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. GreenGeeks eco-friendly web hosting isn’t just optimized for maximum energy efficiency, the company also offsets 300% of its power usage by investing in renewable energy, which is perhaps why it tags itself as the ‘World’s #1 Green Energy Web Hosting Provider’.
Social responsibility is great, but hosting quality is also important, and GreenGeeks gets off to a good start with its shared product. There’s only a single plan, but it’s absolutely crammed with features: a free domain, unlimited websites, emails, databases, web space and bandwidth, plus free SSL. You also get an integrated CDN, nightly backups, Softaculous one-click app installer, a website builder, and support via email, chat and telephone.
A choice of data centers (SingleHop-owned, apparently) allows your site to be hosted in Europe, the US or Canada. That’s unusual for a budget hosting plan, and could make a real performance difference if your web audience is mostly located in one of those countries.
Standard prices for shared hosting start at $9.95 (£7.10) a month, but you can cut this to an introductory $3.95 (£2.80) if you sign up for three years, and a 30-day money-back guarantee gives you time to see if the company delivers what you need.
GreenGeeks offers managed WordPress, Drupal, Joomla and other application hosting, but these are essentially repurposed versions of the shared plans (similar specs, same prices) and don’t offer any major specialist features.
If you need more power, GreenGeeks has some VPS and dedicated plans. These score in some areas – even the starter VPS supports four cores, while other hosts might give you only one – but overall they don’t stand out for their price or features.
We had some issues with the GreenGeeks website, as it sometimes leaves out key information. It lists a website builder in the shared hosting package, for instance, but not that it limits you to three pages. Meanwhile, the separate Website Builder plan lists a single price of $3.95 (£2.80), but we had to ask a support agent to get the full details on what this included, and hear about another two plans that the site didn’t even mention.
And low prices are regularly advertised without any warning that you must buy three years hosting upfront to get those deals. These kind of tricks aren’t unusual, but that’s no excuse, and we’d like to see more and clearer information on exactly what you get in each plan.
Account setup
Signing up with GreenGeeks is easy, especially if you’re buying shared hosting. Whether you choose the website builder, managed WordPress or regular hosting, there’s only one plan listed, and a single Get Started button to kick off the purchase process.
After asking for your choice of domain – you can register one for free, or use your own – you’re prompted to enter your contact information (name, physical and email address, phone number), choice of plan and payment details (credit cards and PayPal are supported).
There are a few small catches to think about. If you want to keep your first payment to a minimum, you could go for the £9.95 ($13.80) monthly subscription, for instance. But do that and you’ll pay a non-refundable £15 ($21) setup fee, so it’s not necessarily the best option. Choose carefully.
GreenGeeks hides its PayPal button behind a ‘See more payment options’ link, but we found it anyway, filled in the form and handed over our cash in the usual way.
A post-payment web page explained that we would have to wait for our order to go through some ‘internal checks’ to ensure it wasn’t fraudulent, and the company would call to verify the order if there were any problems. Our order did take a little longer to process than usual, but no phone calls were required, and within 15 minutes further emails arrived with login URLs, usernames, passwords, links to support documents, and more.
Creating a site
GreenGeeks’ web account manager is simpler than most competitors, with only the basic information displayed: your contact details, a list of plans you’ve purchased and buttons to view more information or quickly access any service.
We were interested to try out the website builder, but there was no sign of it in the interface. Instead we had to manually activate it from the support site, then watch as GreenGeeks sent us an email invoice for $0 and another message once the support team had enabled the product. It’s a minor hassle, but only took a few minutes, and once activated the website builder appeared as a new product on our account manager page.
Launching the builder gave us access to hundreds of templates. These weren’t exceptional, but there was plenty of choice and they were very acceptable for a simple site. Each can be customized in a simple way via the drag-and-drop editor. It works, and it’s easy to use, but widgets are very basic (no fancy slideshows, lightbox effects or anything else), and we suspect the three-page limit will make it useless for most people.
If you really need a drag-and-drop solution, GreenGeeks also provides a second builder in SitePad. It doesn’t match Wix or any of the other big names, but does offer 317 templates and a decent number of widgets and customizations.
There’s a far more professional alternative in Softaculous, the excellent one-click installer bundled with GreenGeeks’ plans. This provides scripts to easily install WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, Magento and many other big-name apps. Mastering something like WordPress will take time and effort, but it’ll help you build top-quality, industrial-strength sites, and you’ll be able to apply your WordPress skills with any other web host you choose in the future.
Further options include uploading your website files via FTP, or adding them manually via a browser-based file manager.
Whichever way you create a site, GreenGeeks bundles the excellent cPanel to help you manage it. Our account had a standard installation with options to view server status, create email accounts, manage databases, control security and everything else we would expect.
There are also one or two bonus options, including integration with Cloudflare CDN. This doesn’t do very much – you still have to set up your account separately, all you really get is an icon which makes it easier to access your settings – but it’s still a small timesaver, and we’re happy to see it included in the package.
Performance
Whether you’re a hosting novice or an industry expert, everyone needs a helping hand occasionally, and we were interested to check out GreenGeek’s support options.
The website has a support knowledgebase, but surprisingly, there are no links to it from the main account manager screen. If you didn’t visit the main website, or follow some of the links in the welcome email, you might never realize it was there at all.
We headed off to the knowledgebase anyway, and found around 200 articles organized into categories like Sales, General Hosting, Reseller, VPS, Billing and more. This seemed reasonable, but it didn’t take long to spot a major problem: most of these articles were horribly out of date.
The Latest Articles list included only one item that had been written in the last year, for instance, and the Popular Articles list was even worse. We find it very hard to believe that “How to publish your website using FrontPage 2003” or “Configuring Thunderbird” are major topics for web hosting customers in 2018. And although the WHM Video Tutorial article sounded better, listing videos on more than 25 topics, every single one of those links was broken. (The article was dated 2012, so maybe no-one has paid attention to it for a very long time.)
We tried using the search engine to locate articles on various topics, but without much success. This seems to run a simple keyword search only, with no intelligence to find related articles or display them in any sensible order. The lack of technical content in the articles doesn’t help, either. A search for the word Apache returned just one article: “Does GreenGeeks Support Frontpage Extensions?” Which probably isn’t the question you were dying to have answered.
A separate Tutorials section includes many step-by-step guides to common tasks. These are more detailed and relatively up-to-date, but cover very few standard hosting topics. They’re generally more focused on setting up and managing web apps such as WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop and more.
If you can’t find what you need on the website, there’s 24/7 support available via ticket and live chat, and both are easily accessible from the GreenGeeks web console.
We tapped the Chat button, and even though we were logged into our account, were prompted to enter our name and email address again. It’s not a big deal, but indicates that the chat system isn’t automatically picking up the details of our account.
We were almost instantly connected to a support agent, and asked a simple product question about the website builder. His first response was to ask us to wait while he checked our account status, which also suggests that the chat system wasn’t automatically showing him our account data.
These delays seemed unnecessary, but they only held us up for a minute or two, and after that the agent answered our question quickly and in detail. There were occasional issues, in particular our being referred to a help URL which didn’t exist, but when we pointed that out he copied-and-pasted the necessary text into the chat window instead. Overall, while we weren’t impressed by the website or the support framework, the agent delivered the help we needed, and that’s what really matters.
As usual, we completed our tests by using Bitcatcha and some related web tools to measure server speeds. This revealed one small surprise – our Netherlands-based server had faster access from the US than the UK – but otherwise showed the kind of ordinary but acceptable performance we would expect from a shared hosting plan. Tune your website with features like the CDN and speeds are unlikely to be an issue for most users.
Final verdict
GreenGeeks’ poor website and limited product range are a concern, but the company’s full-featured shared hosting plan is good value, and the 300% power offset with renewable energy is a promise we’ve not seen anywhere else. This could be a smart hosting choice for eco-warriors everywhere.
