ʚ♡ɞ A/n: Just our loves being love-struck dorks! Finally some Tanjiro and Zenitsu on this blog! They needed the love<3 ya girl is a sucker for romance-filled oneshots/drabbles because the guy she is crushing on is a fictional character, typical stuff. Enjoy!

Sabito

•Imagine this guy having a crush on you.

•But not just any crush, he is so utterly in love with you, that it scares even him because he cannot, for the love of him, even explain the way he loses focus on everything when you’re around him.

•He’d try to push his feelings away because he is a Demon Slayer and his training and job demand utmost concentration.

•Before you start dating, he’d be a little scared or nervous to go on paired missions with you because the way his hands are sweating and trembling on his sword—due to the knowledge that the love of his life is right behind him, following him and keeping him company—cannot be good to kill demons.

•Honestly though, even if he died because of you, he wouldn’t really mind. At least it was you.

•Sabito being Sabito wouldn’t hesitate to act on his feelings because in his mind, a real man speaks his mind, or in his case, his heart.

•So don’t expect to wait for a long time before a confession smacks you in the face.

•He’s rather quiet around you. You might think he isn’t fond of you because of this since he is usually pretty loud and talkative to everyone else, specially Giyuu and Tengen.

•But when you approach him, a little switch goes off inside of him.

•The jokes stop, the pestering and pranking fade away and he only returns your queries with short answers and curt nods.

•He may or may not wear his mask more whenever you’re around.

•Because why would he ever allow you to see his red visage?

•Though it is worth mentioning that he only ever acts like this because in his mind, he does not have a chance with you. So he’d rather not let you see how completely smitten he is.

•After you both start dating, he’d be the boldest man on Earth. How could he ever hide his relationship with you? He loves you so, so much and he is proud of it, of you.

•He talks about you so much to his fellow pillars(mostly Tengen and Giyuu, again) that they have to tell him to shut up at one point. (Though Mitsuri finds your relationship so gosh-darn cute she cannot help but fan herself and turn a little red whenever Sabito speaks so fondly of you and only encourages him further to speak what is in his heart.)

•When you had just started dating, Giyuu gave your shoulder a soft little pat and wished you luck. Boi knows what it is like to deal with Sabito.

•He’d do anything, and i mean anything for you

•He treats you like you’re a fragile glass sculpture and sometimes you have to wack him on the head and remind him that you are a Demon Slayer.

•Speaking of Demon Slaying, he wouldn’t be fond to have you in the corps due to the possibility of you getting heavily injured or-God forbid-dying.

•He would try to reason with you gently and patiently to get you to leave the corps but if you refuse, he won’t impose himself on you.

•Instead, he’d train you more and hone your skills to perfection so that you’d be able your hold your own in battle and come back to him alive and without a scratch.

•Everytime you leave for a mission, he makes sure you have wisteria on you and enough first-aid supply to help a small group.

•He hates watching you leave, kissing you farewell like his life depends on it because he doesn’t know when or if you’ll come back.

•He tells himself that you are strong and that doubting you would mean he doesn’t trust you, but his love for you is stronger than the rational side of him and he always ends up worrying himself a bunch even though he hides it well to not make you worried.

Sabito leaned back to support himself with his hands, seated on the wooden engawa of the Estate. He was never one to simply relax even on a day off and make as if people weren’t dying left and right from demon attacks. But as he took in the beautiful weather—the sun warming his face and the fluffy clouds overhead passing by lazily—and the even more beautiful sight next to him, he thought that maybe he should allow himself to relax more often.

He glanced at you out of the corners of his eyes. Your eyes were droopy and your breathing had becoming soft and light. He let a grin appear on his face while his left hand lifted up to gently flick your forehead.

“Sleepy?”

“Hmm,” you couldn’t muster up too much of an elaborate answer from how heavy your mind felt with the urge to doze off and truthfully, you only half-registered what he said. But you smiled lazily when you felt warm arms wrapping around your waist and lifting you up. The moment you were positioned on his lap, you let your head rest on his chest. Now it was even harder for you to remain awake. You wanted to stay conscious to spend the day with your lover, but being wrapped up in his embrace with his chin resting lightly on top of your head with his fingers gently running through your hair was beginning to lull you to sleep faster than the medicated water Shinobu made you drink whenever she patched up your wounds after your missions.

“Love you..” you breathed out, your voice slightly slurred and barely audible but the words reached his ears anyway and had you not already been snoring away, you would have noticed the way his hold on you tightened ever so slightly and felt his lips on your forehead.

“I love you, too.” He whispered, head dipping down to press his lips to your ear. “I love you more than you can imagine.”

And once again, with you bundled up in his arms, in his haori, he told himself that days off like these should become more frequent.

Sanemi Shinazugawa

•Much like Sabito, he hates anything that interferes with his goal: that being the eradication of demons.

•Unlike Sabito, he will actually treat you harshly, in the beginning at least.

•When i say ‘harshly’ i don’t mean that he’ll become physically violent, oh no he’d sooner die than lay a finger on you, but he will act slightly more..rude to you.

•In truth, he is completely enamored with you. And when he finally realizes that he may or may not have caught feelings one lovely afternoon while he was polishing his sword and his mind kept thinking back to you, he was floored.

•Only then does he realize why he could never keep his eyes off you while you speak even if it isn’t with him, or when you are sparring or fighting. Or just breathing.

•But he doesn’t believe that love is meant for him. He hopes that Genya will leave the corps and find someone he loves and settle down with a family of his own, but Sanemi himself doesn’t have time for that.

•So he’ll try to distance himself from you, believing that if he interacts with you less, his feelings might eventually die down.

•Spoiler alert: they don’t. And now you are left with a very on edge Sanemi who is constantly worried about your well-being because he hasn’t seen you in a bit and who can’t even give training his all.

•Honestly, you’ll be in such a very confusing situation. He’ll constantly push you away and ignore you, but he’ll also fret over the smallest details of if you have eaten, if the bags under your eye look a little too prominent, if you’re tiring yourself out..

•Expressing himself emotionally isn’t his forte because he had an abusive father growing up and though his mother was a wonderful lady, she was always working to make ends meet while Sanemi himself had to take care of his younger siblings, so he never had time to properly learn how to love.

•He does know the basics though, and once he finally comes to term with his feelings, he realizes how futile it is to push you away.

•Once it becomes apparent that maybe you do reciprocate his feelings, he doesn’t waste his time in telling you about his. Don’t expect it to be too romantic, but he will try his hardest to not get too flustered and to look for the correct words.

•He might even bring you a a bouquet of flowers!

•After you start dating, he’ll soften up a bit.

•He won’t flaunt his relationship with you. It’s not that he is ashamed of it, he just won’t say anything if nobody asks. If someone does question it, he will affirm that yes he is courting you and everyone else better back tf off.

•Scary guard dog privileges Scary guard dog privileges!!

•No one dares to mess with you, whether he’s around or not because he will learn about it (he has his ways) and will make anyone who bothered you pay.

•He is a total sucker for whatever you do in general, but he loves it when you bathe with him.

•Setting aside the sexual implications, even though i can’t promise you he won’t do anything, he loves having you in the hotsprings with him and taking turns to wash each other’s backs or hair.

•It’s such an intimate moment for him, one which he thought he’d never get to experience, that he can’t help but be grateful.

•You are the only person who can touch his scars and when you do, he melts.

Sanemi huffed as steam rose from the water, warming his face uncomfortably and making him wrinkle his nose. He had his eyes closed but from somewhere near him, he could make out the gentle trickle of water and he knew it was you, either playing with the water or waddling around.

He kept his eyes closed, refusing to open them because he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop gawking at you if he did open them, and you’d never let him hear the end of it. But of course, his senses whirled in alarm as he felt the water around him move and the splashing sound got closer. He could feel you, too, even though you weren’t completely close to him. He wasn’t a pillar for no reason.

But what put him on edge was the fact that you didn’t speak. He didn’t hear anything, nor feel anything, all he could feel was your presence. What were you doing, just staring at him?

Reluctantly, he cracked an eye open and almost choked on his spit. You were right in front of him, staring up at him with the prettiest eyes he’d ever seen. You had such an innocent face, his heart hurt from how beautiful you were.

“Oi, quit doing that. You look weird,” he said instead, forcing himself to look away from your vulnerable state. You tilted your head to the side, blinking once.

“Sorry, did i make you uncomfortable? You just look so handsome..”

Ah, if only you knew the effect you had on him. Had he not known better, he would have booked an appointment with Shinobu for a heart check-up.

“You’re f*cking creepy.” He said finally, puffing air out of his nose. To others, he might have seemed menacing but you only giggled, a melodious sound to his ears.

If Sanemi could get drunk on your voice, he would.

“Sorry, ‘Nemi..i can’t help it. You’re really so cute..” your voice dropped by several octaves until it was barely a whisper.

He grumbled under his breath, ignoring the ball that lodged itself in his throat and raising a muscular arm up, nodding his chin towards it. “C’mon.”

It was nice how soft you were to the touch, cuddling against him while your fingers swirled the water gently. He could really get used to this.

Tanjiro Kamado

•What more can i say, you just scored yourself the sweetest lover!

•Tanjiro is no stranger to love as he had two loving parents growing up, and he knew they loved each other very much.

•He was aware of what love felt like and though he was slightly embarrassed to admit it, he did wish that after Muzan is defeated and Nezuko turned back into a human, he’d get to maybe marry someone whom he loves and settle down with a family.

•Of course with the responsibilities of being an older brother to three dorks a demon and being a Demon Slayer, he’d have to push those dreams aside. Then there was always the chance that he might die while on a mission.

•When you came into his life, he could have sworn the sun shone brighter, the sky was a bit more blue and the grass was greener.

•It seemed cliché and cheesy, but Tanjiro had been through so much and not once did he get time to properly breathe that when he met someone who came with a promise of love, he couldn’t help but fall hard.

•He would be so shy around you, but so chivalrous.

•He’d offer to patch up your wounds after a particularly hard mission and would try to get you to rest and take care of yourself.

•All in all, he’d be quite doting.

•With his heightened sense of smell, Tanjiro could pick up on your emotions with ease.

•He’d never try to invade your privacy, but the moment the smell of sadness or anger or despair starts looming over you like a dark cloud, he’d be there.

•He loves your signature smell, whether it be a perfume, whatever soap that you use, etc.. he’ll have it engraved in his mind and the moment he picks up on it, he’ll begin to look for you.

•He loves cooking with you, it feels like the domestic bliss that was snatched away from him.

•And of course, he loves watching you get along with Nezuko. The little cutie looks up to you as an older sister and Tanjiro approves 100%

Tanjiro patrolled the hallways of the Butterfly Estate. He had just arrived from a mission, exhausted, sleepy and most importantly, extremely [Name]-deprived. The only problem, however, was that after setting Nezuko’s box in the room where he was supposed to stay, he couldn’t find you anywhere. He walked into the sunlight to be greeted by Sumi, Naho and Kiyo. When questioned, they chirped that you were in the kitchen.

That was enough information. Quickly thanking them and spinning on his heels, he rushed back inside-heading straight for the kitchen. When he spotted you, you had draped on one of Aoi’s spare nurse uniforms over your own Demon Slayer uniform, back turned to him as you busied yourself with rolling up a rice ball.

His expression brightened so much, anyone would have thought Muzan had been defeated. He walked inside, his footsteps light. When he was finally behind you, he placed his hands on your shoulders.

“Good to see you, [Name]-san, those smell really good,”

He hadn’t meant to scare you but you had been so engrossed in not messing up the food that you hadn’t registered his arrival as you normally would have. This caused you to flinch and let go of the rice ball that was sandwiched between your hands and had it not been for Tanjiro’s fast reflexes,it would have splattered on the ground.

He broke a small piece from it and popped it in his mouth, humming in approval. Another chunk soon followed and he hovered it in front of your mouth, smiling so sweetly at the sight of your red cheeks and the way your fiddled with the little ribbon tied around your waist.

“Do you not like it when i feed you?” He pouted playfully, tilting his head to the side. That was enough to earn him a giggle and you finally allowed him to feed you the piece of onigiri.

“I’m glad you’re back safe, Tanjiro-kun,” you swallowed your food, internally praising yourself for the taste. “I was worried when you didn’t answer my letter..”

A huge boulder fell on his shoulder and he placed a warm hand on top of your head, patting it gently. “I’m sorry, i was helping out Inosuke and Zenitsu the entire way, and we couldn’t rest at a Wisteria Inn, but i was very happy to receive your letter, and i’m sorry for making you worry-“

When he felt your arms wrap around his waist, his cheeks flared up. You snuggled closer to him, head resting on his chest and is it just him or do you look even more adorable than usual? He quickly followed your actions, his own arms wrapping around your frame and pulling you closed to him. He knew that if ever the two of you were caught by Aoi or Shinobu, you’d be in for a scolding, but in that moment, he couldn’t help but gently and shyly lift your chin up and bend down to place his lips on yours.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

•He worships you. Do you find that surprising?

•All his life, Zenitsu had been on a quest to find love and though he did court a couple of girls, none of them had turned out to be real.

•Love he did find, but in the oddest place.

•The Demon Slayer Corps isn’t the best place to find women to court, but who was he to complain, when he stumbled upon you?

•The moment he saw you, he did what Zenitsu always does: he threw himself at you and begged for your hand in marriage.

•He had expected a lot of reactions: for you to be disgusted, for you to be afraid and to kick him, what he hadn’t expected was for you to gently pat his head with the kindest smile and to actually consider his proposal.

•When he had lifted his head to look at you, he was certain he was gazing at an angel.

•From then on, he did whatever be could to be around you as often as possible. He doesn’t hide the fact that he loves you, he openly displays his feelings.

•When he goes on missions, he tries to bring home gifts for you.

•Even a small flower, but he hates coming to you empty-handed, even if you reassure him that he doesn’t have to give you anything.

•He craves your touch and makes it a must to give you at least one hug daily. Though if you are not fond of physical contact, he’ll try to refrain from touching you to not make you uncomfortable.

• Zenitsu has an inferiority complex and he constantly thinks that he cannot be equal to Tanjiro or Inosuke.

•If you tell him that he has his own worth and that he doesn’t have to be a good swordsman to be equal to Tanjiro or Inosuke or to compare himself at all, he’ll be yours automatically.

•Marriage proposals everyday. I don’t make the rules.

•Everything you do is a blessing to him, he’s so, so smitten.

•He does get jealous pretty easily though. He trusts you a ton, but he is always so scared that someone else might woo you away because they are better than him.

•He takes you on dates whenever possible. His ideal date is a picnic with you, you feeding him fruits or peppering his face with kisses.

Zenitsu laughed when a kiss was pressed on his cheek. He was on cloud nine literally, if you squint hard enough, you might just make out small flowers floating around him.

He reached out to gently pinch his lover’s cheek, cooing at how soft it was to the touch and admiring the way her eyes lit up and her face split into a grin.

“[Name]-chan,” he began, “you’re so cute, i don’t think i can handle it!”

Of course he was lying. Even if he couldn’t handle it, he would because just how could he ever give up his precious gem? But he could handle it, and he was going to relish in every moment spent with his angel.

“Aw, i’m sorry, Zenitsu-kun, should i try to tone it down?” Your tone was equally as light and playful as his. Your cheeks hurt from smiling but Zenitsu was such a sweetheart !

Who would have thought of him as being daring enough to sneak you away to a picnic? Truth was, when it came to you, Zenitsu was daring enough to go against the Wind Pillar himself. He had brought along mochis filled with sweet bean paste, yet as he bit into one, he remarked that the filling was nowhere as sweet as you were.

Taking note of the small bits of sticky rice stuck near the corners of your lips, which you were blissfully unaware of, he was about to reach out to wipe them away with his thumb when a thought struck him. You looked up and wondered why your boyfriend was suddenly such a prominent shade of red and why his eyes were so wide. Zenitsu could hear your confusion and he bit his tongue to not squeal. Tentatively, he leaned closer to you, with each passing second increasing the tension in the air and when he was close enough for you to feel his warm breath fanning across your face, you had to swallow to to keep yourself calm. Then he placed his lips on the corner of yours, right where the pieces of rice were and you felt him lick them away.

When he pulled away, ecstatic yet frantic that he had managed to pull such a move, he stared at you to gauge a reaction out of you, afraid he might have crossed the limits, but the way you blushed so prettily and the rapid thuds your heart gave out told him that maybe he hadn’t messed up. He was, however, pretty alarmed when you slumped in his arms and the cry that left his mouth was enough to alert the entire Butterfly Estate.

What are your headcanons regarding Kyle and Jackie? I think it’s great that they were shown as friends in that particular episode.

Furthermore, why did you decide to alter your Kick Buttowski design? I don’t mind it, in fact, I think it looks really great, but I thought the previous one was fantastic.

To anwser latter first: Mostly because I missed his giant stupid collar (affectionate). Additionally, I felt like I kinda failed to make him look older in the previous design (he is supposed to be 15-ish) and I didn't like the silhouette that much so yeah.

My previous design is still "canon" in my interpretation, tho. It's his emo phase jgjkskfkd

OH YEAH, FERAL GREMLINS HEADCANONS LES GO

(Combining the two)

1. After some time Kyle's family moved in in the Mellowbrook, much to Kick's disdain. He lives on the other side of the city and goes to a different school but his visits are much more frequent now.

2. Jackie’s parrot name is "Captain SKKBRM". The last part is composed of first letters of her idols. And yes, there is a reason S comes before K.

3. Jackie is low-key Kyle's translator. If Kyle has to say something important he goes so far off-topic with a verbal version of "wall of text" so the important part kinda gets lost. Jackie, however, can listen to him about the time he tried to tame a raccoon and say "Oh, so tomorrow's event is gonna start an hour early! Got it!"

4. Kick did talk to them about his boundaries and they more or less respected them, which allowed both Jackie and Kyle to hang out with him more often without Kick trying to escape. They're still wacky weirdos, but at least Kick tolerates them, so there's progress.

5. While Kick tolerates them, Gunther is actually their friend. Gunther also still thinks they're wack, but to him, they're more of a "funny kind of wack". Also, they are just as casually dramatic as Gunther, so you know they would get along.

6. They have a private weekly game of "Who got more trivia about Kick". They're neck in neck in it most of the time.

7. Kyle and Ronaldo met only once and Ronaldo’s take away from that encounter is "Buttowskis must be studied in a lab. What is wrong with this family?"

8. They are besties your honor. That's it.

9. Kyle has ADHD. He was diagnosed pretty recently, and it changed the way he is treated by his close and extended family. Whenever Kyle isn't with Jackie - Kick is just way more chill and mellow with him and would hang out with him if Kyle asks. While Brad and Brianna still don't like Kyle that much, they will give you a side eye if you try to insult him by pointing out how annoying and talkative he is.

10. On that topic - Jackie is neurotypical. She IS just a weirdo. Her reaction to learning that Kyle has ADHD was "Who is Aydee and why are they HD? Is that a camera? DID YOU GET A CAMERA THAT CAN FINALLY CAPTURE HOW AWESOME KICK IS?!"

After learning what ADHD is - literally nothing changed with Jackie and Kyle's friendship.

11. After a while Kyle got into sewing and knitting. It wasn't surprising for anyone. The boy loves puppets, and it was only a matter of time before he started making clothes for them.

12. Jackie on the other hand enjoys carpentry when she's... Y'know... Not stalking Kick. She carves little puppets for Kyle sometimes too.

Yes, she did carve a wooden statue of Kick, why do you ask?

13. After Kick and Kendall started dating and Jackie started to consistently obsess over Kendall as well, Kyle was a bit worried. He really values Jackie as a friend and was afraid that their friendship is based on their obsession with his cousin, so Jackie getting a new idol made him worry.(Kyle knows Kendall and is neutral about her unlike Jackie) When it came to light, Jackie’s response to that "Dude, Kick's fan or not, you're my best friend! That's like, even better than being my idol!"

They are weirdos and they will stick together your honor :)

14. Jackie’s dad is an absent dad. Jackie thinks that she doesn't have a dad, but it never bothers her that much.

That is to say: her dad is a celebrity, and there's a reason Jackie’s mom really doesn't like Kick.

Explaination for relationship chart below cut :

Dogday : These two like each other alright, the thing is that due to how dogs usually like to play rough with cattles sometimes, Mooney honestly gets a little scared but none less she thinks highly of him!

Catnap : She honestly doesn’t pay him that much mind cause most of the time he’s likely either napping or is just there to be there. Mooney likes how quiet and peaceful he is though.

Bobby bearhug : Mooney finds comfort in Bobby and tends to listen to her a lot, even if it’s about some stupid thing. ( Hc : Bobby’s metacarpal pad is heart-shaped and she likes to line it up with Mooney’s heart-shaped spot on her head. Heart twins! )

Hoppy Hopscotch : I honestly don’t know how to explain their friendship. I feel like Hoppy just finds a way to get along with all of the critters in general. Mooney thinks Hoppy is a very fun person to be around with.

Kickin chicken : OHHH BOY. Mooney is gonna wack him with a big fat wooden spoon one of these days. There’s no specific reason to why, she just wants to do it. Mooney sees kickin as that one young annoying brother, she can’t bring herself to dislike him yet she can’t bring herself to like him. ( Note : Lowkey have that feeling that some barn animals see each other as found family. )

Bubba Bubbaphant : Mooney has always been fascinated by Bubba and his intelligence, these two honestly just clicked the moment they started talking. They’re so similar yet so different. Mooney rants to him a lot about things she likes and he just sits there and listens cause he’s a good listener! Two peas in a pod type shi honestly.

Picky Piggy : World’s #1 sisters awards goes to them, Mooney enjoys being around Picky and has grown attached to her—They’re not blood related? Stop talking silly, of course they are! 100%. Picky is trying to teach her how to cook while Mooney is just standing there holding the book upside down, there’s never a boring moment between these two. They team up against kickin sometimes, it’s sibling bonding!

Crafty Corn: Very rare occasions when Mooney is not taking care of something, and has free time, she likes to watch Crafty draw. It’s very relaxing and Mooney loves to watch how things are made. She’s one of her biggest fans, would honestly hang all of Crafty’s creations on walls if she could.

My Rise! Venus and Jennika

The girlies<333 @roninreverie is the origin of the big brain idea of Venus getting adopted by Grandpa Sho and Jennika Big Mama's Assistant and the mystic abilities

I chose Kemp Ridley turtle for Venus because I liked how similar its color scheme was to idw Venus, I didn't realize until looking at roninreverie's Venus that she was the same turtle species so I tried making Jennika a different one by making a list of semi-aquatic turtles (to reference how the fandom like to make BM's assistant a slider like Leo) then narrowing that list down to 7(because I had 7 sea turtles to choose from for Venus) then using a random name picker to narrow it down to 3 and chose from there

And then

I ended up choosing a painted turtle.

THE SAME SPECIES AS RONINREVERIE'S

I DIDN'T RELAIZE TILL I WAS TRYING TO DECIDE COLOR PALLETTE FOR HER AND LOOKING AT RONINREVERIE'S FOR INSPO AND READ HER REF SHEET AGAIN AUGH

I was in too deep to change it tho, it was just written in the stars Rise! Jennika is to be a painted turtle I guess (this reminds of when I shipped Mikey with my spider guy oc and discovered MilesxMikey a few days later)

Her existence was a big driving force for Big Mama's redemption arc like how Mikey was for Draxum and Kimie for Sho(although I don't think he really needed one)

She thinks of Splinter more as her mom's ex(?) Boyfriend than her dad. And the less said about Draxum the better, her and Leo have roast sessions about him

Like a cat in how she bonds with her family, very private and not very social but she enjoys simply spending time in their presence with no interaction

While Kimie makes Plautilla her middle name like how the boys have their colors/Japanese names as middle names Míng Huì views Artemisia as her nickname rather than a new name hence the quotations

Speaking of their artist's names; they picked them out as a sort of bonding activity with the boys+April, to get them closer as siblings.

Plautilla's favorite nephew is Eijirou as they both rock tessen and are heavy hitters, tanks and gentle souls; while Artemisia doesn't actually really have a favorite and likes her nieces and nephews equally, although she spends the most time with Sandro and Elise because they spend the most time with Big Mama out of the next gen kids and she has the most things in common with those two.

- Had a good relationship with Gaster before he fell

- The only one to remember Gaster

- Sometimes has memories in the form of dreams

- Will avoid fights. However, he will fight if necessary

- Prefers dogs over cats, but loves any animal

- Does not curse often, and usually prefers not to

- The most chill in nature, it's actually near impossible to piss him off about things

- Does pranks to those he likes, it's a form of flattery and also in an attempt to make them laugh

- Finds really stupid shit funny, even if it's just a goose walking around with a silly hat

- Raised Cyperus when Gaster fell, it's why he is so supportive of him and is more than willing to do anything to make him happy

- Enjoys being in Waterfall the most, as it's a reclusive location that allows him to self reflect and get some "peace of mind" with the ambiance of the water

- He feels proud when Toriel pun battles with him, since he never had anyone Underground do it the same way she does. He was actually the one to push her to make new puns

- His dynamic with Flowey is an odd one. He doesn't know that he's Asriel, and he doesn't interact with him. He knows that he was the cause of resets, however, before Frisk fell. He knows that his faint memories of all that happened before Frisk weren't fake, but they're so tangled together that he doesn't know how to feel. He wasn't quite there for it the same way some others were, since at the time he just thought it was his imagination. Afterwards, like possibly above surface if Flowey remained the same- he wouldn't resent him. Flowey wouldn't share who he really is but the two have some tension. Sans just makes things harder for Flowey, but doesn't outright antagonize at him with malicious intent. He can sometimes get along with him, and finds him to rather be a bit of an annoying little shit. He doesn't hate him though, as he is reflective of why he did it and he gets the idea that Flowey isn't ACTUALLY evil. He is only slightly off put that he can't read him, however, since he's soulless. He gets the off put feeling though that Flowey is childish to the point that it's...almost?? Amusing??? He reminds him of a child who needs time to adapt to new things, someone who can be patient with him. It's just kinda complicated

- Can fall asleep anywhere, and I mean anywhere. He has fallen asleep in fridges, on ledges, upside down while hanging from a fan,,,,

- A proud Dunkle for Frisk, not quite a Dad but not an Uncle either

- Won't put in effort unless he wants to, which is rarely. In fact, he only starts to put in effort when on the Surface, but it's a rare occassion

- Has some of the sickest burns because he doesn't mind about hurting someone's feelings when he dislikes them. He also gets creative, so it's not just half attempts to insult someone

- Has many jobs above the surfsce. Works at the counter, sells food inside food trucks, and even is a school janitor

- Drives a tricycle around, if he's not in someone else's car he's willing to pedal all the way across a town or city if need be

- Plays trombone, not only is it a fun pun but defying logic since he's a skeleton is some of that chaotic energy he wants in life

- Protective of his brother but not to the point he thinks his brother is incapable. He raised him, taught him things, and he's proud of him. He is protective when he wants his brother to be safe, but he's not going to threaten you. He's actually pretty sincere about it once he sits you down. When it came to Undyne, he teased her somewhat and kinda pushed her limits because he knew how badly his brother wanted to be in the Royal Guard. The two eventually talked though and he worked on his communication skills when on the surface

- Made Cyperus his royal guard costume for a Halloween Party, he is happy to see his brother wear it around while Underground

- Bonds with Alphys over memes, anime, and other "weeb" activities. Both feel that "I wanna die" energy that goes well with "LMAO look at this meme" so the two can get along. He sees that she has a lot of anxiety too, and so when he visits her he tries to reassure her and distract her in ways no one else can

- He and Napstablook have bonded over laying on the ground feeling like trash together many times, he's also supportive of his music and will listen to it without getting spooked. They aren't close, but they can be considered friends

- He was actually suspicious of what Alphys was doing and actually discovered the Amalgamates before Frisk. He confronted her about it and it was the only thing he's ever been serious about, since he finds it cruel that family is separated from it. It also opened his eyes to a fear of Determination in general, which is why he's the most weary of Frisk other than the fact that they can reset. He never snitched on her, but he always would talk to her about it when it was mentioned

- Learned sign language before Frisk, as Gaster also used it when no one understood Wingdings

- Can't flirt for shit. When he's actually attracted to someone, he starts stuttering and kinda tripping over himself and fumbling. He'll sometimes run away if he messes up out of embarrassment, but it's endearing.

- Owns too many combs, in which he'll offer them if people do or do not need it

- Only does the zaza rarely, and if he's with company

- Doesn't smoke, but he'll pick one up if he's stressed enough, which is rarely

- Always napping with annoying dog when he actively decides to nap, and only then does annoying dog appear

- He embraces his laziness the most out of all the Sanses, it's a pleasure to have it

- He loves to make people uncomfortable, especially when he's bored and he wants to make weird small talk with someone to provoke a reaction

- He is a meme box, he knows all of them and makes references constantly

- When he found out that ketchup chips were a thing he found ways to enjoy his beloved outside of the condiment

- He loves french fries and hamburgers a lot, but only hamburgers from Grillby because only he can make them the way Vanilla loves them

- Only sells hotdogs or other foods that his brother makes

- Grillby and him go way back and he somehow is one of few to understand him

- A heavy sleeper, when he's passed it's like trying to wake up a corpse because even if you shake him around he will not stir

- Has reading glasses he rarely wears despite Cyperus telling him to wear them, he doesn't like remembering when he was a royal scientist

- Enjoys cooking from almost anyone, compliments them every time even if others think it's god awful

- Likes photography, hell pose if he's serious and loves photo bombing others

- Enjoys walks through the forests, it reminds him of Snowdin when he's on the surface

- Emotionally closed off despite being emotionally supportive of others, he had to when Underground because they would just forget anyways

- Video games that he plays are things such as Pokemon, Animal Crossing, or sandbox style games like Minecraft because it has minimal violence and it's more relaxing

- He dislikes formal wear, no reactions to his puns, opening up, lies, being useless, washing his jacket, and others being close minded

- The king of socks, he owns.... so many.

- Doesn't identify as asexual, but has little to no interest in sexual intimacy

- Takes all ketchup packets from restaurants and convenience stores when it's free. No one knew that he did this though until he saw a photo of him hung up saying he was banned at a restaurant because of it. Broke his soul

I wanted to combine his canon character and kinda mix it in with my head canons or some that I found and loved overtime. Honestly, why do you care so much what Roman haters think or say at this point? Nobody even said anything about him, so I don't understand what you're complaining about so much, or even talking about. Even if they did, again, why are you giving them any kind of attention? At this point, you're never gonna be able to enjoy your fave in peace and be happy if this is the route you keep going. As much as it sucks and as much as he doesn't deserve it, you're not helping matters and only making it worse. It's been the same song and dance since 2015 and that's unfortunately not gonna change anytime soon.

And as for his coworkers, you are aware they're in character when they talk about his schedule, right? So, they don't actually mean the shit they say. Literally everyone in the locker room, veterans, legends, newer talent have had nothing but kind and positive things to say about him. They have nothing and love but respect for the guy. Even then, they're not obligated to do it all the time and to kiss his ass 24/7.

You all act as if Roman is such a helpless and defenseless victim, like he's the black sheep and just oh so hated by everyone. And this need to protect and defend him so much is getting a bit embarrassing. The dude is almost 40, he's more than capable of defending himself and holding his own. He doesn't need you coddling him like a child.

I love Roman as much as the next person, but a lot of you really don't make it easy for others. You all like to complain about fandoms being toxic, but guess what? There are plenty of Roman fans who are just as toxic and you fall right into that category.

I am very much "enjoying my fave in peace". Seen him in person multiple times actually but thanks for the concern! And, yeah, I get annoyed by some of his coworkers because you can tell some genuinely feel a way (like with that Sheamus interview that leaked) and I just think it's wack when people act like they wouldn't take a cushier position if they actually could. I thought ROMAN was wack for talking like that about Brock. But I'm coddling a grown man lmao trust me, my feelings aren't hurt for him, I'm just speaking as an adult with a job who isn't gonna hate on being able to take higher pay, more clout, and less work especially if it's the kind of work that destroys your body.

Again, you have a lot of feelings for a short post I made that I literally forgot about until I saw this ask. You could type his name on my blog, filter the text posts, and you'd see I don't even make enough posts myself about that nigga at all let alone ones ~defending his honor~ to warrant being called "toxic". This shit is always so wild to me cause I don't think I've ever cared about anything fandom related in my life to send a stranger something like this and yet I've gotten 3 or 4 weird anons this year.

If people are feeling more sympathetic towards the people who hurt pink/rose, who's supposed to be the victim and the people in question are the diamonds and her abusers, whose fault is it exactly for that whole thinking? The fans and critics for not getting it or not liking actions that happened with rose/pink or the writing of how it went about rose that kind of made her seem even less sympathetic than the diamonds?

Maybe sympathetic is not the right word for the diamonds but then at the same time people give me the impression that what blue was "right". Feel like I am seriously not understanding something I do kind of feel like the backstory being told backwards probably didn't do wonders but I'm just still wondering how are they more sympathetic then pink when they are heavily part of the reason why she left them?

I think at a certain point it’s just people misinterpreting it. Sure the show could’ve had more episodes about Rose’s and the Diamonds’ past but that only accounts for so much. The story is complete and all the information is there about Rose and the Diamonds. People thinking “the Diamonds are more sympathetic than Rose” seem like they’re either forgetting major parts of the plot or are just angry at the show for not going the way they wanted it to

It probably also comes from an inability to accept that the creators of your favorite media aren’t omnipotent, and that they’re subject to outside forces. It’s a lot harder to admit “the shows I love are made based around business deals that are sometimes unfair and that hurt the artistic merit of the final product” than the kneejerk “Rebecca Sugar wrote a terrible ending because she’s stupid and evil”

I feel like it also ties into some of these people’s politics somewhat. I’d be willing to bet that a lot of the people saying that the show’s ending was bad because the Diamonds didn’t face enough consequences are also the type of person to view real life politics that way too. The type of people who think “if we can just get kill all the bad people (billionaires, racists, pedophiles, etc.), the world will be perfect!” The people who think that it’s not enough that people stop doing bad and start doing good, but that they must suffer also. These types of people usually have good intentions (ending inequality, racism, pedophilia, etc.) but if you let that desire for revenge against society taint the way you watch media, it’s gonna lead to you unironically saying shit like “Steven Universe is nazi propaganda”

Bringing this back to SU, this reminds me of when I recently saw a piece of fanart from “Gem Harvest” (from back when the episode first came out in 2016) and it was tagged something like “the theme of the episode was wack, they introduce a bigoted character and the moral is to FORGIVE HIM???!?” Yes, that is the moral. Making human connections will always be better for your mental health (and more helpful in actually stopping people from being hateful and bitter) than any amount of vitriol or righteous anger

It seems Steven Universe is simply cursed with fans who are forever unwilling or unable to accept its basic tenets of forgiveness and self-love

Hmm, how do I feel about Unforgiven? First, I don't understand what "unforgiven" is exactly. The word doesn't make sense in that context, but it's some sort of "we're unapologetic, we're fearless, we're better than you, we overcome everything" blah blah blah. "Unforgiven, I'm a villain" has "I'm bitch, I'm a lover" (Meredith Brooks' song) vibes, but coming from a group of girls who are mostly liked and not in any way villains or outcasts, or taking risks of any kind, it's just the usual cool girl bs. This is the third song like this, but Antifragile was much better because it was more about their own personal struggles and their attitude towards them, so it felt less "I'm too cool for you" and more empowering.

The line and screentime distribution is wack. Kazuha is beautiful and embodies LSF's concept, but the amount of lines and face/center time she got were absurd. That kind of shit only attracts hate towards her and is unnecessary. She didn't need all of those lines. The song would've been fine with less of her and more of the other members. In fact, less Yunjin as well. Tbh, at first Yunjin was my favorite but now she's my least favorite. She just... irks me? To be clear, I'm not saying she's irksome, talentless or anything, I have nothing against her. I'm just saying that, as a casual fan, right now I don't enjoy seeing her on screen, when it used to be the opposite. This is a subjective opinion and has nothing to do with Yunjin. People just bug you sometimes, for no reason. It's mean but true. Anyway, I thought only Kazuha and Yunjin shined. Maybe that's why they had more screentime, or maybe they fit the concept better because they had a bigger spotlight on them. Chaewon fit the concept, but Eunchae didn't fit quite as well, and Sakura fit some parts better than others. Sakura is my favorite member and I think she's really charismatic and a natural cool girl, so they could've done better by her, though she got the most lines after Kazuha and Yunjin and has become the unofficial center of the group.

I don't know, I dislike the song's lyrics, most of the rap verses (Yunjin's opening rap verses were so jarring, especially coming from her), and the line, center, and screentime distribution. I think with a more even and appropriate distribution the whole group could've embodied the concept better.

I think the song will have to grow on me, but it's a bit try-hard, like it's trying to replicate Antifragile which was a refreshing change in sound from Fearless and for kpop in general. Unforgiven is too much like Antifragile but worse.

Haven't listen to the album yet!

also while they're making sequels the critically acclaimed Batman movie, that people are more likely to look more forward to, because even though i didn't care for the movie, it at least looks like some cinematic effort was put into it enough to be an enjoyable watch that doesn't make you question your life choices because of how stupid it is. it's a lacking movie to me, but at least i feel like the people involved tried in a way that didn't feel like a child writing a fan fiction

its so hard to focus on shrines and not koroks...i use the same map for both!! but i only have two weeks to get them all, so i gotta hustle

i can't tell if they despawned or not IM SCARED :(

i thought i heard them but when i went to look i didnt see anything...i hope they dont respawn when i exit this shrine :(

missed the poes. went back inside instead to see if i could find the lightroot. found it on top of the maze but then i had to go the wrong way to get to the next one. so. no poes :( it was a big batch but idw walk all the way back lol

i should stop leaving hands on. i was gonna go get a shrine near a tower, but there's hands there, so actually i'm not doing that. it's better if i don't know!!! but sometimes i get scared and need to check :(

i went to the stable by the great tabantha bridge bc i noticed i missed a well there, and the canyon is full of green fog. i wanna look at that later but the thing i want to do next is check out satori mountain finally...i've been wanting to look for awhile!!

however unfortunately before THAT. i have to go to bed. rip!

Small Long ramble about Jake and character development again

I've been talking to a couple fellow fans in the MK fandom (🤍 love getting to know new people from everywhere), and for the most part we have very similar views of the character(s), I found my niche!

I do remember once, one of them and I had a slightly different view about Jake and how selfless/selfish he is vis-a-vis his alters.

I see Jake as, well, a bunch of contradictions. But he's a bit more selfish imo than some people might see him.

Which got me a bit worried about how people would see my Jake at the beginning of the fic ?

To me, Jake being more selfish makes total sense; he's been burdened by a lot of responsibilities without being even able to interact with the others. He's used to working alone even more so than Marc is. It's not as if Khonshu was really a partner or an equal.

So he is selfless in the sense that he takes his responsibility of being their physical protector seriously and they can always rely on him for that. He also takes the responsibility of justice and vengeance very seriously too. So he is empathetic to others' plight (obviously, and I'm sidetracking since I was specifically talking of him with Marc&Steven).

However, he is also selfish because, well, he doesn't have his shit together at all internally. And people with mental illnesses or issues can't be completely selfless, they just can't. Dealing with what they have takes a big part of them, a lot of energy - which can then come off as selfishness (Marc is the same - or should be - but I have another post queued for him about that).

So : he's used to being completely alone and rely on himself, he has his own issues to deal with, he wants a real life - like it was always denied to him before, so he's desperate to keep the place he carved for himself within their life -, and finally he resents them.

He resents them for all these previous reasons.

It was just easier to put his anger and frustration about his situation on someone, so he did. Jake thought that anyway they would never interact.

Jake's resentment for Steven calmed down after Steven really put in the effort to listen to him and understand his pov. That's when they started to get along.

While with Marc they just fed off of each other's hate and it grew even worse.

Jake would be like if Marc, after Steven got mean to him, got angry but then never stopped being angry at him after that interaction (when in the show Marc often forgave Steven, and when they interacted again Marc was back to talking to him calmly and being nice to him). Jake doesn't forget, and doesn't forgive easily.

I only wanted to make sure (future readers?) people knew that this Jake ^ is how he *starts off*, *before* his character development. He himself has a big character development to go through.

And to also remind people that Jake, if we take all the times he's fronted up to now and added them up as life experiences - Jake would have the life experience of a toddler. That's why his experiences are out of wack. If you dropped Jake in the desert with absolutely nothing but his clothes on him, he'd be able to survive and save themselves just fine. But there's very basic lifeskills he doesn't have; and he's immature and selfish (with his alters).

Sometimes it feels to me like Jake is interpreted in only one of two ways. There's the very wrong idea that he's 'evil' or 'bad' or whatever in one corner of the fandom, and then the side of the fandom who want to defend Jake make him into the complete opposite? Almost like another cinnamon roll who does nothing wrong and has had no bad thoughts in his entire life (I'm exaggerating, but barely).

Jake is neither. Jake is a complex character who has sides of both.

Is Jake a cinnamon roll (or mew mew) ? Well maybe he started off that way, maybe he started off being similar to Steven (and I've mentioned that in another meta), but that's pretty moot right now. Because he's not anymore.

Maybe deep down he still is, maybe that's what he'll be at the end of his character development, but at the beginning of a season 2 ? He's not.

He's a mess of emotions, and most of them aren't pretty. He has *a lot* to learn, which gives him a lot of space to grow though; since with the very short lenght of his ife experiences, Jake himself doesn't know who Jake is at the beginning of season 2. He has some vague ideas about what he likes/dislikes and what he wants, but most of them are still surface level. So of course he'll be selfish! He has so much life to experience !

After Marc accidentally fronted for a brief moment and took that few minutes to try killing themselves; Layla, with all the strength and patience she could muster, managed to prevent it. She convinced Marc to go 'sleep' in his mind, and promise to her that he'd come back when he'd feel ready.

Marc gave his place to Steven, and Layla let her heartbreak and distress slip out. She didn't want to lose Marc again, and she didn't know what else she could do to help him.

Steven was there for her. He was also worried. He told her they were seeing a therapist but Marc hadn't fronted yet in any of their sessions. Layla asked Steven to please take care of Marc. Steven responded that he'd do the best he could.

A day or so later. Layla saw Jake. She knew she couldn't really tell him to take care of Marc like she asked Steven but if only Jake could -

Layla 'Go easy on him okay? He's not doing well'

Jake looked at her, an eyebrow raised, then shrugged - making an undistinguishable noise like a grumble.

Layla 'Jake please'

Jake 'I'm not his shrink, if he's not looking for trouble then he won't find any. It's that easy'

That wasn't reassuring to Layla at all. Maybe Jake thought what he said was reassuring- saying that he didn't go out of his way to antagonize Marc, but he hadn't said anything about trying to be more patient and understanding with him.

And that could mean trouble. Steven had told her that Marc found himself fronting by mistake that night because all three of them were in the middle of a big argument.

So, with scenes like these, it's important to keep in mind everything I said above.

And it's not that Jake doesn't care about Marc, he does actually care quite a lot about him (but it's when you're heartbroken that you can be the nastiest right?), but he doesn't want to care about him. For all the reasons I explained above.

So is my Jake like comics!Jake ? No, not yet. But he's getting there.

The only reason to do this stuff is for the relationships. My collaborators over the years on this project are among the core of my weird extended chosen family. There's no way to name names without leaving people out. Everybody mattered. The mark of family is that you still love each other after driving each other insane with unreasonable behavior because you are there to grow together. I believe that we all made something beautiful and highly improbably pop off this year at the burn better than we ever have before on any other project, after working together for years. I cherish all of these relationships deeply, and tending them was at the core of my burn this year.

This stuff is incredibly fun and incredibly hard and takes all day if you invest wholeheartedly in contributing to the event. As with most things in life, the bigger the investment, the more fun you have and the more you learn. My primary $$$ clients (I don't get paid for working on Thunder Gumbo) are also burners and producers who understand why I'm doing what I've done, and I'm very lucky to have them help make it possible. I lost five pounds, and have probably eaten about 200,000 calories since getting back to Reno six days ago. I gave a couple thousand dollars and a few months of my life and efforts to hard work on the project this year between helping produce on three major fundraiser parties (with two more to come this fall), a kickstarter campaign, a thirty five person camp (with kitchen / shower / shade / lounge / workshop / car parking), and an elaborate trucking, breakdown, and financial reconciliation process that is still going on.

The event wouldn't have been the same without investing in it so heavily-- sometimes the object of devotion isn't as important as the devotion to seeing things through in general, no matter what it takes. Even if it means that I was tending to my responsibilities to the point that I brought out a record player and a stack of vinyl, three decks of tarot cards, and a six foot inflatable hamster ball without using any of them once.

Like most difficult things, Burning Man is not for everybody. There's lots of goofy stuff about lots of the tribes that go, it's a pretty self indulgent event in a city that gentrifies steadily every year, some of the internal politics are extremely wack, it is expensive and dangerous and time consuming and classist and dusty. I acknowledge all these things and remain a fan regardless.

Every critique of Burning Man is true, and I honor the festival for being able to contain everything-- it is a Tantra, not a Sutra. It has, love, hate, beauty, ugliness, skill and lack therof, computer programmers who call themselves spanky and dress up as gay aliens, impoverished mystics, kind older people, children, fire spinners, burnouts, prodigies, trolls, real danger, injury, sex, death, cops, life, freedom, an FAA sanctioned airport and a functioning post office, dubstep, waffles. I guess I like that there's a little something for everybody.

My experience at the burn this year was extremely life affirming, but I feel no need to fetishize the experience. I was there and now I am here. It was a great party. There is no way I can give as much of myself to this set of tribal forces next year, having joyous demands on my time in the temporary city of New York like professional development and yoga teacher training, but it has been an incredible ride and I regret nothing. I am completely energized by all that has transpired, and am ready to make my entire life the best it can possibly be every day that I am alive on this planet.
