Sorry to big u more but also. I know all four of the stars were close but also. How well and intimately do u have to know someone to not only fully remake them but then go and remake then at two entirely separate stages of their life you were never there for and don't even know what they looked like for and have it be -entirely accurate- bc I think about that! Like its meant to be as close to 1:1 and possible and he just. Nailed that

NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE grins so big. i will take any and all chances to talk about Zoneporia and anything in its orbit. as well know <3

this actually brings up an interesting point, with regards to Aporia vs. Z-one's other robotic copies of his husbands friends. Cuz like, you have a pretty solid argument that Antinomy and Paradox are successfully 1:1 accurate copies of their original selves (as 1:1 a mechanical recreation of a person can be) especially with looks and (presumably. maybe. possibly) with personality. But with Aporia.... I would argue Z-one didn't actually nail his 'remade' version(s) of him very well at all, tbh! Nor do I think he was intending to, even.

Cuz, honestly, just how accurate do the Emperors look compared to Aporia's actual life stages? Lester is probably the closest, but he's still an unnatural pale compared to child Aporia; meanwhile Jakob is like 348954 goddamn Feet Tall and wider than a barge and Primo. well Primo looks a little like the printer jammed while spitting him out.

Half of young adult Aporia's hair is just NOT THERE ON PRIMO. CHOPPED OFF. BIGASS BALD SPOT. imo it makes Primo in particular look....unfinished! and therein that lies a pretty big point about the Three Emperors that I've probably talked about before but always love getting into: theyre SUPPOSED to look unfinished and incomplete and a little bit 'off,' because theyre very much NOT actually robotic copies of Aporia at different ages or Young Adult Robot Recreations like Paradox and Antinomy.

They're the result of Aporia begging Z-one to give life to his Most Defining Traumatic Memories. They're embodiments of horrifying snapshots in time that Aporia believes made him who he is today....theyre. embodiments of despair :^)

The show never gets into How these despairs/traumatic moments got processed into becoming Three Mechanical Guys Who Talk and Walk Around, but I'd be willing to wager it's something involving extracting Aporia's memories and building them from that (and that's how Z-one was able to make Lester and Primo and have them look...Adjacent to how Apo looked at those implied ages.) It also explains why the three of them are such a volatile, mishmashed trio--Each one is only a third of a whole, a gijinka of a moment of Indescribably Intense Grief and Emotion, theyre each a piece that perhaps was not supposed to have been separated out into its own person ("person," lord knows theyre not people to Z-one) and well now everyone has to deal with that.

ANYWAY. TANGENT, APOLOGIZES. I don't think this diminishes the implied intimacy between Z-one and Aporia though, lemme be clear... how much trust must be there to not only ask to take your most defining, devastating memories and give them 'life,' but to heed that request and go out of your way to take the time and make More mechanical bodies than you needed for your other two friends. Aporia doesn't seem ill at ease in his Giant Monster Wereangel Body at all, so you do have to wonder the level of love and closeness to it all, to design and concoct a mechanical shell for your last living friend/wife that he's comfortable in, a body to give him the strength to fight for a better future his dying human flesh and bones couldn't muster.<-- *Aporia's robot body harnesses physical features the old and dying Aporia yearned for truther* THERE'S SIMPLY SO MUCH TO THINK ABOUT WITH THEM. AND IM NORMAL ABOUT IT.

Regarding the BMC tumblr remake: I would like to preface this ask by saying that I appreciate your enthusiasm and dedication to the fandom. However, I have concerns that there might be arguments- about the final casting, about the script, about the portrayal of the characters, about how to split roles. What if someone gets upset over not getting a role and has an issue with the final cast? What if someone accuses the judges of being biased with the auditions? And I'm not sure if copyright issues exist- it probably won't be a big deal but if it becomes a problem, it's going to be messy. Not to mention people have their real lives to manage and schedules will most likely come into conflict.

I'm worried this could easily become a recipe for fandom drama and discourse if not managed carefully. I don't mean to be a killjoy. It's great how the fandom is still so lively despite being so small, but unfortunately that is exactly where the problem lies. If something goes wrong it could damage the entire fandom. I hope and trust it won't come to that but wanted to voice my thoughts: maybe there could be better approaches? Such as leaving it as an open-source sort of project with more freedom. People can seperately post covers and storyboard them. That way everyone can participate, no hard feelings about not being part of the cast or stress over managing everything.

Of course, I am in no place to discourage this project from happening nor do I mean to. I am aware you are still working out the details, which is why I thought it would be better to put my two cents in while things are still being discussed. Thank you for your hard work and have a good day!

hey i really appreciate you voicing your concerns! really helps me think through this stuff

first of all i think arguments are just inevitable for giant group projects, especially something to this magnitude. im gonna try to have as many people as possible in making big decisions and ofc ill be open to any suggestions from anyone at all. so far from the responses ive been getting most people who want a major actor role have said they would be happy just in ensemble or participating in other roles, like music or editing, so im really just trusting them on that. as for being biased no one who wants to audition will have a hand in casting and im not particularly friends with anyone in this fandom so ill try my best not to be biased skdbksdj. if I do need help with casting again im just gonna have to trust them

it's really all riding on trust in everyone involved, which is risky but you really can't control what other people do or feel. we're just gonna have to trust everyone wil be civil and fair to each other. it's just a part of teamwork

i ddon't really know how copyright works either but im really hoping it's fine. if people can make animatics and covers of the songs then we should be good right?? that's all we're doing. there's like some sort of only use for entertainment purposes or something idk ill have to read up on that

ik ppeople have real lives and schedules lord knows i do. that's why im waiting to see if we're actually doing this, and if enough people are interested. ive even specified in the form that this will be a big project and will require patience cause not everyone can work on this 24/7, though i can't say how many people actually read the question before clicking yes. ultimately we're just here to have fun, so nothing will be taken too seriously

i know something small can ruin the entire fandom which is why ive been so nervous about actually doing this, but again it's really on trust, and so far people seem civil and enthusiastic for anything. there's gonna be a LOT of freedom for this tbh my word isn't gonna be law. the artists can decide what to draw and the actors can decide the portrayal, which does go back to your point about arguments but they're gonna have to accept people having different ways of doing things just comes with the job. if they can't accept that then honestly they're probably too young or not mature enough to even watch bmc, let alone work on a big project online. ofc some things are gonna have to be controlled for the sake of smoothness and just collaboration in general, but i think they can handle that

again im very open to suggestions but ultimately i will still be one of the people running the whole thing (i most likely will need help if we do it) so obviously there's still gonna be stuff like no changing anything without telling anyone. im not gonna be like the dictator or something im just,, a small step higher (i don't want to sound pretentious but,, yeah) i want everyone to be able to express their portrayals and takes on the show, teamwork and different points of view is just part of what makes this fun. idk how well a lot of freedom would work but we'll adjust as we go. so ig it sorta is similar to an open source project, we're just compiling them all into 2 hours together

as for participation im trying to make sure everyone who wants to can participate! i have said in the form to pick a backup in case you don't get a major character role. if you can't sing or draw or anything there's a speaking ensemble for like the people shouting over each other in the smartphone hour, or like people at the mall or something in be more chill pt1. other than the major characters there is no age limit, which might be an issue but ill try my best to sort them out. again it's just trust they won't lie about their age, cause ik some people are uncomfortable with a certain age. scenes like dywr/dywh is a HARD 16 year old limit, even for editors and artists. I've got age limits for the characters posted somewhere cause ik there are actual adults auditioning. the actors feeling comfortable or not are gonna have to be taken into account of course, but we'll sort that out if we get there. and again i will have a lot of people helping with management and might ask for opinions from people who aren't doing management too

like you said i am still thinking this through, so these are just my answers at this point in time. i will change my decisions if i have to, so thank you so much for bringing this up! see this is already an example of civil teamwork, and i really hope it will continue for the rest of the project if we do it

currently stopped at 12/2. there’s a lot i wanna talk about. this game makes me feel so incredibly strange. ill leave a very messy ramble under the cut

being past a majority of the significant moments i feel like i can give a pretty lengthy discussion of my feelings

the game does what it says on the tin it’s an hd remake. storyline (at least as of the date i cited) is by and large approximately the same.

the game itself is gorgeous it looks amazing. there is so much clear effort put into every little aspect, of which everyone is already greatly aware

i have highly mixed feelings

things i am enjoying

a nice handful of the link episodes and optional content are feel good and sweet moments that give a better impression of the cast’s relationship, which is always welcome. particular examples im personally really about include shinji’s link episodes and the group study sessions

theurgy moves and how they reflect each characters growth in their second move that unlocks with their ult persona. trismegistus’s theurgy killed me dead.

lots of very welcome qol changes that streamline numerous parts of the original game in a way that feels pretty good. i particularly enjoy the text message function and how it reminds you who’s available which days while also letting you fast travel directly to the link in question, and the net functionality thing that lets me see what others decided to do each day. a ton of helpful stuff for someone really forgetful basically

ive been playing on peaceful because im not good at rpgs (yes i spent $70 on a game from a genre i am notoriously bad at!!!!) so i can’t speak much to a lot of gameplay stuff but im glad tartarus has more to it and has also received qol changes that make it less of a slog to grind (at least in my experience). in general tartarus’s overhaul rules; visually the alternate environments with different corresponding floor layouts are awesome

they let ryoji be bisexual outwardly! kinda pretty much? much like aigis’s “I know you should be with a man” in portable it’s hard not to take “I want to be more than a friend to you” as anything other than explicitly gay. i still have a few more scenes with the guy so it might take a minute before i can be fully confident in this point.

things im not enjoying

the quality of the character writing in a lot of places is either off, irritating, or it flat out feels incorrect in some instances. whether it’s aki dropping the p word as liberally as he does or mitsuru being constantly put forward as intimidating and that’s the whole joke, or the weird new speech quirks aigis has, there are moments you can very much tell the writers are going “how many times can we fit this same unfunny joke or bit across the game”. it feels like a greater chunk of the time that they don’t Know what to do with the characters so they fall back on pushing whichever flagship trait that character is known for and it really hurts the overall enjoyment of the additional content when it feels so…shallow? as a result. not ALL of it is this way but there is a significant enough pattern that it’s genuinely a bother

how little they use the potential of this remake to demonstrate individual character dynamics that aren’t otherwise frequently touched on (i.e say yukari and shinji or aki or like aigis and shinji or fuuka and aki; there’s like a ton of character duos within sees that we just don’t really have a grasp on how they feel about each other). i was especially disappointed at the lack of shinji with other people than the rest of senpai squad or the protag, which is what i was most looking forward to having more of going in. maybe some of what i was hoping for is in tartarus dialogue i didn’t wind up triggering (which there is an insane amount of that id love to pick through once im done) but just based on the episodes i played and the hangouts i did it’s still like man. i wanted to see him being friends with other members yk? they barely took any cues from the portable slink.

BECAUSE the story is written so closely to the original any weird inconsistencies remain the same, although there are a handful of moments where they clarify certain important things that i don’t believe were in the originals. on a similar note whereas they smartened up and made stuff like romance optional and removed that notorious transphobic scene, they’re still not immune to being really fucking weird about age gaps and grooming !!! and of course the sexualization of highschoolers remains ‘Detrimental’ to the storyline 😐

ok i writing this as i am so sleep I am falling asleep with my phone. my primary thoughts for now make of that what you will. god i hate video games

a while back on twitter i livetweeted my process with making my meta knight charm

im kinda going insane so i thought i would do the same thing here on tumblr for the new magolor charm im working on. its a lot of images so theres more + a Lot of general merch making commentary from me under the cut

despite being the easiest to make a concept of, with my very first concept sketch being the one i went with, this drawing has fought me every step of the way. the lor is self explanatory (damn you lor) but i had a lot of trouble with magolors proportions and shapes too. in the end i ended up going for something closer to the second sketch to be closer to magolors canon appearance

the lors oars ended up not being able to be as long as my initial concept sketch. i had them extend so high up for framing and to round out the shape of the charm a bit better. without them the charm ends up being really oddly shaped and unbalanced looking, so i added a vortex in the back to help round out the shape in the middle and on the right side. thats not the only reason i added the vortex though! in order to celebrate rtdldx coming out soon i wanted to make the back alt the new manager magolor outfit. because his hat extends into what would be a clear area on the front side (the gap between the lors window and the sail) i had to put something solid in that area if i wanted the alt side to work seamlessly

related to the physical specs, im planning on printing these on rainbow acrylic for the sole reason of i thought it would look really cool if i made the rainbow tech lines on the lor transparent on my artwork, so that the rainbow acrylics effect would shine through, instead of just painting the rainbow effect on the artwork itself. i went to a convention a few weeks ago and apparently rainbow acrylic and gradient colored acrylic charms are really popular right now, so i got a lot of inspiration from there

gonna be honest just drawing the lor alone has kinda burned me out LMAO. i was planning on making another new charm for this batch too initially, mostly considering marx since ofc those two go really well together as a pair but that design requires me drawing nova which No. second i was considering susie but that requires me not only drawing her mech, but doing it at a difficult perspective. and then theres taranza whos very difficult for me to draw in general and i still have not made any concepts ive liked for him so oops

it probably sounds kinda money grubbing of me to make Two magolor designs right as the rtdl remake is coming out, but hear me out first of all ya boys got deadlines to keep on (my manu has a discount that will expire at the end of this month) and i really wanted at least 2 new designs for this batch (plus i still need to draw up a new sticker design to make for freebies) so i wanted to make something a bit more simple, and if you know me, i fucking love elegant shit with frames and halos and that, so here we are. this will be a wooden pin based off this kirbtober drawing i did, which ive always loved. i had a very specific idea for this pin in mind but wood is apparently a finicky thing to work with by nature, so ill have to see if the specs allow. maybe itll be a colored acrylic pin instead?

might reblog this post in the future if id like to update with more progress. (i love that tumblr allows you to be wordy but Man i miss being able to have unobtrusive threads like twitter)

Okay, let's break some shit down! I recommend just skipping over this post unless you're one of the three dozen or so people with enough personality issues to create callout blogs.

Okay, let's take this apart bit by bit.

It is selfish. I don't know what the fuck happened to the concepts of communication and respect, but it seems like a lot of people don't follow them anymore in favor of completely avoiding anything that makes them even a little uncomfortable. All I want is the chance to clear up misunderstandings before they explode into situations that draw uninvolved people in. I try to give that to people, after all!

I definitely wasn't 'antagonizing' or 'harassing' anyone, I was politely pointing out the corruption inherent in callout culture, which so far you have failed to convince me is fake. And if you happen to see this, Soy, just know that it's only a matter of time before someone tries to cancel you.

Maybe if you actually read the callouts or followed what you preached you wouldn't be on your 10th block evasion blog.

Why would I want to read a bunch of uninformed accusations based on misunderstandings, exaggerations, carefully cropped screenshots taken out of context, and outright falsehoods? I've seen enough to know the basic formula. And it's quite bold of you to accuse me of trying so hard to block evade, when there was only ONE incident that only occurred because I didn't realize the person, who was following my Nerissa blog, had my OC blog blocked until AFTER the fact, and tried to bring that up only to have the door slammed in my face. There are plenty of other reasons to delete and remake blogs, such as wanting a fresh start, or in my case, because of DEPRESSION. So this accusation only proves my point about misunderstandings and falsehoods.

Maybe don't gloat about following someone who was outed for being manipulative and turn around acting like the people mad at you for going "all callouts bad".

This brings me to another issue I have with callouts: I can decide for myself whether someone is bad or not. I don't need someone who's already biased against the person trying to convince me that they're Satan. And also, you remember that dumpster fire with all the trans women being targeted, reported, and harassed, just a few weeks ago? Yeah, that was callout culture. Even if I believed you people had everyone's best interests at heart, it is way too easy for bigots to use this tool to turn public opinion against marginalized people.

at this rate you're going to defend someone who actually did something akin to sexually assaulting someone with concrete proof-

I highly fucking doubt that. Especially since you people don't care about concrete evidence.

-and then double down while acting smug before deleting your blog and coming back again so all the people who blocked you before need to re-block you.

See my above point, re: more likely reasons for deleting and remaking. And if that does happen, those people won't need to worry, as I'll have already done my part and re-blocked them first.

Wow did i spend a lot of time making this! I'll upload the drawing i made while making progress with this over the next few days probably because i spent a lot of time designing the costumes, etc, but i think Im finally happy enough with it to post it!

junkyu has been sticking around you for a consecutive amount of days now and it was all because of a specific reason. your crush - that was leading you on all this time dumped you. when junkyu found out about it he got pretty hurt. as one of your close friends, you thought it was normal for him to feel that way. but little did you know, junkyu actually likes you. actually in reality his love struck but he will never admit that to anyone, even to you.

it was all cliché he thought. starting from you finding out that your crush was actually leading you on and him being there for you when you're hurting. but the thought of confessing to you - after you've healed never came to him. he knew that you only looked at him as a best friend and maybe even a brother. so it would just hurt him more to see you avoid him after all the help his given to you.

moving on to you though. you weren't as hurt as he was. sure you might've cried here and there but it wasn't too much. after all it was just a stupid crush you had for 2 years. so you mostly felt angry and resentful. all this time they were so full of themself and never actually cared about you. how could you not notice? you groaned thinking about all the signs they've shown back then

good thing junkyu was here to accompany you. he atleast prevented you from overthinking. and he was also one of the reasons why you weren't hurt so bad. your theory of him being an angel was very much proven because of this.

"y/n? are you thinking about them again?" junkyu, who was spam clicking the controller, asks. you let out a sigh, of course he knew you well. "yeah, its just so frustrating kyu. im such a shame" you hugged both your legs to your chest.

junkyu pauses his game and faces you, looking quite upset. uh oh "why would you say that? we all make decisions that we regret. and you didn't have a choice they basically manipulated you to think they were cool and that they were all that." he spoke so fast it was almost like he was rapping. it was ridiculous and amusing seeing him like that, but at the same time you felt protected.

"kim junkyu, calm down. you're ranting too fast again" you chuckle, grabbing the other controller on your desk. "but thanks for the assurance and taking my side" you nudged by the shoulder. he looks at you with a pretty confusing expression. you didn't know if he was flustered or trying to hold in his laughter. "you're ..welcome" he says bashfully and grabs his own controller.

looks like your struggles were gonna end soon with junkyu staying more often.

I think we can all tell that I didn't know how to end this. did I like how this turned out? not reallyy, I will probably end up remaking this in the future ㅠㅠㅠ for now I hope everyone enjoyed this disaster!!

why dont you wanna play re2make?

short answer: it simply doesnt appeal to me

long answer: going under cut LOL

[warning its really long and i start to sound mean near the end i think]

re2make lands in a specific & unfortunate spot where i cant enjoy it at face value as a res evil game, and i cant enjoy it in a dismissive "woah look how crazy this is lol" way, either. it just irks me a lot. ill try to explain

my first res evil game was the re1 remake, which was very faithful to the orig re1, in terms of gameplay and style. i LOVED this. then i went to play the next game in the series, and went for the re2 remake, since i (naive, new to this cruel world) figured it was a remake like the re1 remake, in terms of style & stuff, and. um! well. it isnt! right? its different, since it was made in 2019, and REmake was in......2002? i want to say? hold on. . . yeah 2002. so of course they werent going for the same style of remake. they were making it to appeal to modern game audiences, so it was less of a 1:1 and more of a re-imagining. and it doesnt try to say otherwise, it knows that its a re-telling/re-imagining, i was just not expecting that (again, naive, unaware of the hell that is capcom games)

right, so, i played maybe 5 minutes of re2r, and was like "i dont like this, im just going to play the original re2" and did that. i loved re2 a lot. i mean. <3 <3 <3 . so, as someone who's now attached to the orig re2, i have my perceptions of each of the characters and everything all living in the delicate ecosystem of my brain; near and dear 2 me etc. re2make is a whole different animal, and if it interacts with said ecosystem, all the little bugs are going to explode and blood disaster forever. this brings us to the section of my answer where i explain my beef with re2 remake leon

i just dont like him. i dont like what they did with his character, i dont like how he looks, and i hate how fans talk about him, which he is unfortunately getting blamed for since seeing him reminds me of the vile shit that ive seen (whoever made the naked sexy whatever leon mod(?) is going to hell and im smashing them with hammers). ok. taking a step back. what actually wrong with him?

the simple answer is "hes just not leon." leon, in re2, is kind of a bitch, a guy who got blackout drunk (bc he was upset abt a breakup) the night before driving into raccoon city to be like 8 hours late for the first day of his job. which turned out to be zombies. which he fought while hungover the entire time. while being ridiculous & stupid. re2make 'leon' (i need the ' ' for my own sanity) is just some regular guy who doesnt have any of that going on. he has a lukewarm, generic personality and could be named matthew and it wouldnt make a difference. design wise, re2make 'leon' was also made to look friendly(?), or whatever the fuck, and his haircut is more generic, while re2 leon looks kind of mean (on purpose) and has the iconic curtain bangs. theyre just different characters, so it irks me that the re2r guy is considered to be leon. i know its subjective, but this is all just my opinion anyways. i do appreciate his existence though, because hes fodder for horny people, dbd players, and annoying people who call anything that moves a twink. its like this

i also dont like what they did to claire, sinc she looks like debbie ryan and her dialogue is less cool. shes just lamer and more .. i dont know. generic Girl. claire is a badass and re2r claire is kind of nothing, but not as nothing as 'leon.' i just feel bad for what capcom did to her

you may have seen my other response to an ask abt wtrc, where i said i was ok with it being different from the source, so i just wanted to add that its different with re2r because 1. it takes itself seriously, 2. its a videogame so thats many hours of psychological torment as opposed to 1-2 hours 3. avan jogia as leon

im really not looking forward to the hellraiser remake (reboot? whats the difference)

I want to actually explore the world we saw in Hellraiser 2, not wipe everything clean for the sake of a female Pinhead, which isn’t any more or less accurate than male Pinhead. Trying to make a novel accurate remake is so pointless, if thats what they’re doing, because the original was already very accurate to the story, you’d just be making a few aesthetical changes to the cenobites who already play a fairly minor role in most of it. I wanna see something new, I wanna see Doug Bradley back while we still can. When he’s... no longer available, I’ll gladly take a new approach to Pinhead

And honestly the cenobites aren’t that inaccurate to the book. BookBites (tm) are a little less aggressive, a little more heavily mutilated, but most of their traits are in some capacity carried over to film (and frankly I find the more aggressive movie ones more interesting). Deepthroat inherited most of the gender neutral traits of the breathy voice and shaved head, even if they didn’t bother to hide her gender beyond that. But they’re there, is my point, even if they didn’t go as hard with it. And Pinhead and Channard got the leather-sewn-through flesh stuff.

And ofc if they’re doing a full remake you know they’re not gonna give Pinhead 3 lines of dialogue like they had in the novella so it’s already not gonna be fully accurate

Most remakes come when the franchise has been sucked dry, but no Hellraiser sequel past 2 really bothered to milk its potential. 3 was a Pinhead solo tour, 4 was a trainwreck, and everything after that was just absolute uninspired trash that did nothing with the actual lore. Judgement tried but was a colossal failure

I want to see those sights Pinhead promised us before we just abandon the original series g-dang it, and while we still can with Doug

maybe ill eat my words and itll be really good but for the time being im just grumpy. Hellraiser’s franchise is a tragedy lol

synopsis: You knew that living with your three best friends, Kuroo, Oikawa, and Bokuto, would be a wild ride. It’s never a dull moment with those three. Let’s just hope you can keep your huge crush on Kuroo a secret when he is only a room away.

Two: clean up good

You had made it through your first week at your new place. It was easy to make yourself feel at home with your friends around. It was a lazy Saturday morning. You and Kuroo were making breakfast while Bokuto was at the gym and Oikawa was still asleep after a 7 hour facetime call with Iwaizumi the night before. You pranced around the small kitchen gathering stuff for breakfast as Kuroo washed the dishes.

“Did we ever end up buying orange juice?” you asked.

“Yeah it should be in the back of the fridge,” he explained. You headed over to the fridge and grabbed the juice. Kuroo went over to set the table and you tried not to get distracted by him. His perfect bedhead and raspy morning voice took your breath away.

“What?” he asked, noticing you staring. You jumped.

“Uh the tag of your pants is showing,” you said, which was true. Kuroo spun around himself as if to try and see the tag and you just laughed. Kuroo tucked the tag back in his pants.

“Geez Y/N, why are you looking at my ass?” he joked. Your face got hot.

“I was making sure Oikawa didn’t steal it,”

“What did I steal?” said a sleepy Oikawa, who just woke up. Kuroo covered his mouth in an attempt to not laugh.

“Oh nothing. Breakfast’s ready,” you smiled. Kuroo and Oikawa went to sit down and you handed them their plates of food.

“Did Bokuto say when he would be back?” you asked. Kuroo shrugged.

“Not sure, he said-”

“HEY HEY HEY!” The door slammed open to reveal a sweaty Bokuto holding his volleyball bag.

“Perfect timing Bo,” you smiled. Bokuto set down his bag and went to join all of you at the table. You began to eat your breakfast.

“Guys I have the greatest idea,” bursted out Oikawa. Kuroo looked at him with wide eyes and a mouth full of food.

“And what might that be?” Kuroo muffled out. Oikawa stood up from his seat and cleared his voice.

“We should have a party!” Oikawa exclaimed. You looked at Kuroo and Bokuto, then back at Oikawa.

“A party?” Kuroo questioned.

“Yes, a party. Ever been to one Kuroo?” Teased Oikawa.

“Hey I’ve been to a party!”

“A study group with drinking doesn’t count dumbass,” Oikawa huffed, “anyway we should have a little party. Nothing too crazy. Just an excuse to get some people over here and to dress up.”

“Oikawa I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I have 3 friends and they are all in this room,” you said. Kuroo laughed.

“You are so lame,” joked Kuroo. You rolled your eyes.

“I’m down to have a party,” chimed in Bokuto.

“Thank you Bokuto! Come on guys, we can dress up and invite some people and have a little fun. It can be like a house-warming party,” said Oikawa.

“I mean it doesn’t sound too bad. When would we have it?” You asked.

“Tonight!” exclaimed Oikawa.

“Tonight? Isn’t that a little short notice?”

“Let’s be honest. None of you had plans anyway so we might as well do it today. And I already told Iwachan that the party’s today,” smiled Oikawa.

“Okay so what’s the plan?” asked Bokuto, becoming instantly excited.

“I’m taking Y/N shopping with me for outfits for everyone. Kuroo you clean and Bokuto you are on food duty. I’ll make some calls and you guys invite whoever else you want,” explained Oikawa.

“Why do you get to pick what we wear?” questioned Kuroo.

“Because I know damn well that if I let anyone of you pick your outfits the three of you would each end up wearing sweatpants and that is not how I would like people to see my new apartment.”

“Shittykawa you do know we live here too right?”

“Precisely why I won't have you looking like idiots. Okay party is at 7 tonight so get a move on! BREAK!” Oikawa clapped and left the table. You looked at Kuroo and Bokuto.

“Well I guess I’ll see you two later. Have fun cleaning,” you smiled.

“Of course he gives me that worst job,” pouts Kuroo.

“Hey, at least that means you get to read the labels on the cleaning supplies and judge them,” joked Bokuto. Kuroo gave Bokuto a playful push before getting up from the table too.

After you finished eating, you took a bath and got dressed to go shopping with Oikawa. Just to annoy him, you wore a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt.

“Toru, are you ready?” You shouted. Oikawa came into your room, nicely dressed of course, holding Kuroo’s car keys.

“Let’s go before he notices,” he whispers. You laughed and started heading towards the front door.

“OIKAWA!”

“GO GO!” You and Oikawa ran so fast out of the apartment you almost tripped over yourselves. You hopped in the elevator.

“Kuroo is gonna kill you one of these days,” you said. Oikawa chuckled.

“Not if I get him first.”

You and Oikawa drove until reaching the store that Oikawa wanted to shop at. You went inside and began looking around.

“What are you buying for Kuroo and Bokuto?” You asked. Oikawa hummed to himself as he looked at the array of dress shirts before him.

“I really want to force Bokuto to wear a nice lavender button down with some grey pants. And as for Kuroo...I’ll see what you pick out first,” he explained. You sighed and went to look at the dresses.

None of the dresses really caught your attention. A lot of them looked too plain for you or Oikawa’s liking. As much as you hated to admit it, as you looked through the dresses you couldn’t help but think about what Kuroo might like. He probably couldn’t care less about what you wore but the thought of him noticing you made your heart flutter.

“Y/N!” called Oikawa. You turned around to see Oikawa holding a beautiful dress. It was made out of a shiny, almost silk-like material with thin straps. It was a gorgeous shade of red and had black lace along the v-neckline.

“You have to get this one,” said Oikawa. You took the dress from his hands and took a closer look. It really was a beautiful dress.

“Do you think it’s too much?” You asked.

“Of course not. You would look amazing in it. And it’s red...you know who likes red?” he teased. You smiled, knowing how Kuroo always complimented you when you wore red.

“I don’t know...do you think he’ll like it?”

“I know that the second he sees you in that he will confess his undying love for you.”

“Oikawa, I doubt he likes me.”

“Maybe seeing you in this dress will change his mind. Come on just get it!” You looked down at the dress.

“I’ll get it, but only because I like it,” you said. Oikawa nodded.

You bought the dress and Oikawa bought some stuff for Kuroo and Bokuto. The two of you headed back to your apartment. As you walked down the hall leading towards your door, you could smell smoke and hear yelling. You looked at Oikawa and shrugged as you opened the door.

“YOU BURNT IT?” Shouted Kuroo.

“I DIDN'T MEAN TO!” Pleaded Bokuto.

“Alright children what happened?” You asked. Kuroo and Bokuto stood in the kitchen looking at each other.

“Well you see Y/N, I was making the rice and then I decided to go to the bathroom and then I decided to sit on the couch and before I knew it I was asleep. And then I was very RUDELY woken up by Kuroo,” explained Bokuto.

“The rice is incredibly over cooked by the way,” said Kuroo.

“Thanks for the clarification,” you joked, “it’s fine Bokuto, I can remake the rice.”

“Thank you Y/N!” Bokuto picked you up for a tight bear hug.

“Well while Y/N redoes the rice, you boys can go get dressed,” Oikawa handed Kuroo and Bokuto their bags of clothes.

“I swear if you bought me-“ began Kuroo.

“Have faith my dear friend. You will look almost as good as me tonight,” smiled Oikawa. Kuroo rolled his eyes and took the bag. Kuroo and Bokuto headed towards their room to get changed. Oikawa did the same and you went to fix the rice catastrophe.

After you made the rice, you cleaned up around the kitchen. You washed your hands and checked the time. It was getting close to 7, so you rushed over to your room to change.

“Oikawa I'm coming in,” you said before opening the door. Oikawa was finishing buttoning up his shirt. He wore a light blue button up shirt and dress pants. He looked amazing as always.

“Do these pants make my ass look good?” He asked. You looked at the pants, seeing no significant difference in his butt.

“Absolutely. You have such a dump truck back there,” You laughed.

“I hate you,” Oikawa gave you a playful nudge before leaving your room. You took the dress out of the bag and laid it on your bed. It really was a beautiful dress.

You changed into the dress and stood in front of your mirror. The dress fit you perfectly, hugging you in all the right places. You put on a simple silver necklace and did a light face of makeup. You thought you looked beautiful. You felt beautiful.

You took a deep breath and opened your bedroom door to meet your friends. You didn’t dress up often. After all, your best friends are a bunch of guys. So if they didn’t feel the need to dress up, neither did you.

You walked out the door and Bokuto, Kuroo, and Oikawa stood in the living room, hyping each other up. Bokuto was very pleased with his lavender shirt and he looked great. No surprise that Kuroo took your breath away. He wore a neatly pressed navy shirt and dark grey dress pants.

“Hi boys,” you smiled. They turned to look at you. Each of their jaws dropping one by one.

“Damn sexy, who are you trying to impress tonight?” cheered Bokuto. You covered your face out of embarrassment.

“No one...” you whispered.

“I knew that dress would look perfect on you!” said Oikawa, giving himself all the credit.

“Wow…” Kuroo’s voice trailed off. You two locked eyes for a split second.

“We clean up good,” you smiled. Oikawa grabbed your hand and pulled you into a group hug with Kuroo and Bokuto. You held your friends tightly before breaking away. You turned to look at the front door, hearing someone knocking.

“Alright idiots, let’s get this party started.”
