Tumblr media
Zuko and Y/N walked through the streets together as the sun set in the distance. They thought walking to their restaurant would be a good idea, rather than driving or taking the bus, but it seemed like the weather was much colder than they anticipated, and the fact that Y/N was sick wasn’t helping.  She shivered for the hundredth time, even though she was already wearing multiple layers.
"You're cold?" Zuko glanced at her from the side, and she nodded. He immediately took off his red jacket and put it over her. "Have my jacket." It was a bit big, but it was definitely warm.
"T-thanks." She pulled her arms through the sleeves, and Zuko quickly zipped it up for her, smiling.
The cold breeze still stung her face as the pair walked to their date. She was starting to have second thoughts on coming on the date, because she had caught a cold a couple days before. However, Zuko had planned this date for her, and she couldn’t bring herself to cancel. She wanted to spend time with him anyways.
Her head pounded, a headache coming on strong. She winced, and Zuko looked at her with concern before she could hide it. Oh, shoot...
“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” His worried eyes melted her heart, and she just couldn’t bring herself to end the date there; they didn’t even get to eat dinner.
“Yeah... I’m fine,” she reassured him with a smile, tugging the jacket on tighter. The two crossed the street, almost at the restaurant they were planning to go to for their date. They turned at the corner past a stop sign, making their way over to the door. The outside of the restaurant definitely looked nice, brick walls traced with vines and large windows. The bushes lining up at the front were definitely a nice touch.
Zuko held the door open for her as the pair headed into the restaurant. She sat down at a booth next to the large windows at the front, exhaling in relief. She felt terrible, but at least she made it to the restaurant. She scooted over, closer to the window, as Zuko sat right next to her with a menu in his hand.
The upbeat music playing hurt her head, the bass felt like it was thumping around her entire body. The bright lights of the lamp above them bore into Y/N’s brain, strengthening the headache. She shut her eyes tightly, begging for it to go away, and jumped when she felt a tap on her shoulder, her eyes popping right back open.
“You okay?” Zuko asked softly. "You look a little pale." She flinched when he unexpectedly put his hand her forehead, but quickly relaxed. Wow, his hands are so warm... She started to feel an overwhelming urge to fall asleep, but Zuko’s voice woke her up again. “Y/N, you’re burning up!”
"I know," she sighed. She put her hands on her cheeks, the coldness from her fingers feeling amazing on her hot skin. He immediately got up, ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
“Y/N, we need to get you home. You don’t look so good.” Once again, his concern made her smile. What did she do to deserve him?
“Zuko, I really appreciate your concern, but I just gotta... suck it up. I’ve been looking forward to this date for a long time.” She gave him a smile, but he shook his head.
“We can have a date when you feel better, bub. Come on.” He grabbed her arm, leading her out of the restaurant. “Do you feel good enough to walk?” Her honest answer to that was “no, not really,” but despite that, she nodded and went with it.
She was doing fine for a couple of streets, walking perfectly fine, other than the occasional shiver, cough, or sneeze. However, her legs grew weaker every step, slowly deflating every time she crossed the street.
Zuko was constantly watching her, giving worried glances, holding her hand the entire way, until her knees suddenly gave out. She tripped over herself, falling onto the ground. Shoot.
“Y/N!” Zuko immediately kneeled next to her. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, just... just a bit tired,” she breathed.
"If you were tired, you could have just told me,” he said, lifting her up and hoisting her onto his back, giving her a piggy-back. “Is this okay? Are you comfortable?” She nodded, and he continued walking. She rested her chin on his shoulder, her eyes drooping in exhaustion. The comfort of Zuko holding onto her was the final straw as she gave in and fell asleep.
She woke up, finding herself tucked in with the familiar smell of Zuko and the cool feeling of his bedsheets. The pounding in her head wasn’t as loud, but the second she moved, she regretted it. She searched for Zuko, and heard something rustling in the kitchen. She slowly got up, leaning on the wall for support, and as soon as she got out of the bedroom, Zuko spotted her immediately.
“Y/N! You’re awake, how are you feeling?” He rushed over to her, supporting her and ushering her towards the couch, making her sit down. He immediately started to fill up a tea pot with water, ready to boil water to make her some tea.
“I’m... feeling slightly better.” She was honestly feeling worse, but she knew that Zuko wouldn’t like that answer. “Still feeling gross, though,” she mumbled, leaning back into the cushions. He handed her the tea, which felt soothing down her throat.
“I gotta get to work, but I’ll be back soon, okay? The medicine’s on the counter, I already laid it all out for you.” He gave her a kiss on her burning forehead and headed out the front door with a wave. She waved back with a smile. How did she score such an amazing guy?
Oh. Shoot. She realized she was still wearing his jacket.
Could she run and give it back to him now? The thought of just getting up made her cringe, so she decided to return it when he came back. She inhaled, smiling softly to herself. It smelled just like him, and it cleared her head, even if it was just by a little bit. If she closed her eyes, she could imagine him by her side, cuddling her until she got better.

The plotholes of book 3
Now I want everyone to hear me out on this one: book 3 is my favorite atla season. I bet it is for a lot of people. But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect, far from it actually. This book has some of the biggest plotholes and things that generally do not make sense. My explanation is that this season might have been rushed, but we don’t know that for sure. I’m gonna be talking about these instances and explaining why I think they don’t make sense, and how I think they could have been improved. My opinions, nobody else’s. Feel free to agree or disagree, but do so respectfully. So strap yourselves in, this might be a long post.
1. The war meeting: Zuko joins the gaang right after the invasion happened. Right before this invasion, Ozai held a war meeting because he got intel from Azula about the invasion. There they also discussed what would happen after the invasion and how the comet would come into play. We only found out about what was discussed in this meeting 3 days before the comet, when Zuko chooses to tell the gaang about Ozai’s plan to burn down the world. Zuko however, had known about this for weeks, and only chose to share this information right when Aang decided he would face Ozai after the comet.
Now here’s where this doesn’t make sense to me: why in the hell would he not immediately tell this information as soon as he got to the gaang? Ozai’s plan to burn down the planet is the drop that made the bucket spill for Zuko, it was partially a reason for him to leave, as he didn’t agree with the plans discussed in that meeting. It would have been much easier for the gaang to trust Zuko if only he had opened with “hey I have important intel regarding the firelord’s plans for the comet, maybe it could be useful, also I can teach firebending.” This information is treated like an afterthought when it should have been discussed immediately after.
2. Nobody telling Zuko about the change of plans: this is piggy backing off of the first one. Zuko only told the gaang about Ozai’s plans after Aang and the rest reveal that they’re planning to defeat Ozai after the comet. This is news to Zuko. Why? Let’s say Aang decided he wasn’t ready after the play, seeing his character, although a caricature, die on stage. That must have been jarring for him, especially since everyone in that audience seemed so confident that this would be the outcome. Then we’ll say this play may have been a week, perhaps two weeks before the comet, as they still have time for “time wasting nonsense” to quote Sokka.
So what happened? Did Zuko go to bed immediately after the play and Aang broke the news when Zuko was asleep? Did nobody think “hey the avatar is about to give us important news maybe wake him up”? Did nobody think to tell him after? There’s absolutely no reason as to why Zuko doesn’t know that Aang made this decision, especially since everyone else, including Suki, is aware of it.
3. The southern raiders: this entire episode doesn’t make sense to me. I understand that we needed Katara and Zuko to bond, because Katara still didn’t trust him (with good reason) and in order to win the final battle, trusting each other plays a pretty big part. But going on a rogue mission to get revenge on the man that killed Katara’s mother is a bit of a stretch. First of all Katara and Zuko both act out of character, with Zuko making xenophobic comments towards Aang and Katara basically telling Sokka he didn’t love their mother enough. Second of all, Zuko and Katara basically bring the entire mission in jeopardy by running off and putting themselves in danger. What if they got captured, and now the firenation has the Avatar’s waterbending master AND the traitor prince in custody. What if they got followed back, and the army now knows the location of the Avatar?
Their first move is to invade a watchtower belonging to the fire nation on APPA. The BIGGEST animal you can possibly find. They steal an important map containing information of the positions of the raiders. Then they go to the southern raiders and attack the captain straight on, who even turned out not to be the guy they were looking for, and then they just LEAVE?? It’s not like that captain doesn’t know these people are affiliated with the Avatar, they flew in on APPA for crying out loud, the only flying bison known to exist, which everyone knows belongs to the Avatar. Then they go to a poor town in the firenation and stalk the killer, for Katara then to realise she can’t kill him and they return home, and afterwards they didn’t even apologise to Aang or Sokka for making snide remarks, stealing Appa and running off. Appa isn’t everyone’s pet, he’s Aang’s. They could have at least asked permission, which they didn’t. Aang even called them out on trying to steal Appa. He let them go after, which I still think is a mistake. This episode could have been done in many different ways, and having Katara and Zuko bond could have been done by just letting them TALK to each other. Vigilante justice missions should be the last thing on your mind when you’re about to embark on a mission of which the outcome will change the world forever.
4. Aang’s pacifist agenda: don’t get me wrong, Aang not wanting to kill the firelord makes complete sense, especially because he even refuses to eat animals. That’s not the part that seems off to me. What seems off to me, is that Aang only talked about not being willing to kill like 2 days before the comet. If he only realised he didn’t want to kill right then, what exactly was his plan for the invasion? Why does it seem like he’s prepared to do anything to end the war during the invasion, but right before the comet he gets to his senses and talks about not wanting to kill another human? If the invasion had succeeded, did everyone expect Aang to kill, and did Aang have a completely other plan? Did Aang think they were just gonna capture the firelord and be done with it? I feel like they should have been clearer about the invasion plan and wether or not the intention was to kill or not. “Defeat” the firelord is too vague, because it could mean a bunch of other things before it means kill. It’s not like the word “kill” is too harsh for Nickelodeon, hell they have an entire debate on to kill or not to kill right before the final showdown. So why was this even a debate? And why right before the finale?
5. Combustion man not listening to Zuko: this one’s a short one. Zuko was the one who paid combustion man to kill the Avatar. With that he also demanded this to be in silence, he didn’t want the world to know that Aang was still alive. It’s why combustion man burned down that letter when those two guards saw Aang and tried to warn the firelord by messenger hawk. So now let’s fast foreward to combustion man’s last fight at the Western Airtemple. He’s attacking everyone down below, and Zuko swoops in trying to stop him. Combustion man however, throws Zuko off with ease. Zuko tries to make him stop by telling him he’ll pay double. Combustion man doesn’t listen and even goes as far as to blast Zuko off of the cliff. What exactly is combustion man’s motivation to not listen to Zuko and continue attacking the gaang? Did he get a better offer from someone else, maybe the firelord? Did he find Aang’s wanted poster and realise the payment was more than what Zuko offered? He’s a mercenary, an assassin, he gets paid by other people to do the dirty work, it’s not like the writers established that he’s a bounty hunter. What was combustion man’s reason for ignoring his recruiter? Did he know Zuko was a traitor, and if he did, why did he care?
This is it for now, I know it’s not a scandalous amount, but it’s still a lot considering this is an otherwise very thought out show. Overall I think this book needed more communication in between characters, and more heartfelt scenes. It’s still my favorite season though.

It’s wonderful how you love reading people’s words about almost anything and attend to their words, being able to sense their feelings behind it. And I agree, it’s so lovely when you can sense a person’s joy through their words, as you said! Here I am once again, feeling special, thanks to you 💛 You’re a darling! And I’ll try my best to send long asks whenever possible!! (1/11)
Ahh, it’s going to be a while before I actually feel comfortable doing chart readings! But you know what? I would be happy to read your astrology chart for free, if you want! It would be great practice for me and it would give me a chance to grow my confidence. Though only if you want, let me know! ☺️ I’m so happy to know you’re learning and grasping everything perfectly! The way you believe in me astrology-wise makes my heart all warm 💓 (2/11)
I’m sorry your summer courses got cancelled btw, especially since you were on track to graduate. Hopefully, this gives you time for yourself though. I wish I can say I enjoy being active too, but it’s not something I do often tbh. Though I do love walking, as well as dancing (but it’s been a while). I need to find more activities that can get me moving 😔 Ah I see, what solo activities do you like doing to stay active? (I fall on the introverted side, I tend to favor being alone too) (3/11)
I’m on the same boat as you + your family. I haven’t been outside since mid-March and being at home until now has made me a bit antsy. It probably added to the weird headspace I was in too. Though that’s gone now, I’m feeling much better + less stressed thankfully. The semester is still in session for me, I’ve got about until mid-May until it’s over. Though I’m glad that school will be over before my birthday, so that’s a blessing I’m super thankful for! I can enjoy my day in peace, aha. (4/11)
Manipulation can be associated with a few other signs too actually, but Scorpio is definitely up there in the top three! And it is definitely true that that as you get older, you can either grow more into your sign’s archetype or some traits lessen over time. Rather than it being some traits disappearing, it’s more likely due to other planetary energies in certain signs coming into play and becoming more prominent. (5/11)
There’s also this point in everyone’s chart, the midheaven. It’s been said that whatever sign a person’s midheaven is in, that person shows more of that energy as they get older. Which brings me to how you got the impression that I’m a Libra! My midheaven is in Libra, which is probably why you felt that more than Taurus. It’s fascinating, especially since we’re just interacting through messages. Didn’t know my Libra energy was showing that strongly but it’s nice being aware of that now! (‪6/11‬)
I will definitely let you know if any of my guesses change when I do a rewatch of the whole series! (P.S. did you hear the announcement that A:TLA will be on Netflix ‪on May 15th‬?!) And to make it more fun, I’ll assess the other characters as well and share what signs I believe they could possibly be! I’ll consider it my mini summer project 😋 But oh my gosh, soft Zuko in the comics? 🤧 Maybe I should read the comics too then, since it might give me more material to work with. (‪7/11‬)
Your questions made sense, it’s all good! I think the best thing to refer to and see how Yue’s Venus energy influences Zuko’s Cancer side is that conversation in chapter 22 of Limerence, where Zuko told Yue that if having a family meant having a family with her, then that’s all he could ever want. Of course, he loves her, so there’s no doubt about them having a family together eventually. (‪8/11‬)
Though this is highlighted more with Yue’s Venus + Zuko’s Cancer energy because those energies meshing creates a soft/tender vibe, which makes coming together and creating a family highly ideal. Because Venus carries this loving energy which reinforces Cancer’s love for being domestic. As for the dynamic of Yue’s Libra and Zuko’s Aries, I feel that it’s one of the things that sets the overall tone for their relationship. (‪9/11‬)
With Aries/Libra, it’s kind of a classic case of Venus & Mars, so Yue being the affectionate/gentle one while Zuko being the intense/bold one, that paints the picture of their Aries/Libra dynamic. All that Libra/Scorpio energy in your sister’s family though, wow!! There are some common patterns in astrology that can occur with family, and one of those patterns can manifest as a certain sign or two being strong in the family. I guess that’s completely true for your sister! (‪10/11‬)
I’ll wrap all of this up by saying that chapter 33 of Limerence is completely enthralling! With every single chapter, I’m just in love with your storytelling. You’re such a fantastic writer! And also, it’s very enjoyable talking to you every time! Thank you for showing such warm energy always, it’s refreshing 💜 -  🌻 (‪11/11‬)
Tumblr media
AHHHH – my lovely 🌻-anon~! 🥰🥰🥰
How long have you been studying astrology, and how long does it usually take for one to gain the confidence and skills to provide a service? I’m just so curious – but I never had anyone to ask these questions and learn. I’m sorry if these queries sound silly 😅
BUT BABE.
I would love a reading – but I’ll have to give you something. I refuse to not pay or give something back (even if small!). Plus, I need to say thank you for indulging me and letting me bother you non-stop with my questions 😂 But, seriously – you should be confident. You have literally not only captured my interest but a lot of others too!
Honestly, as sucky as it is to not graduate, I’m doing exactly that – taking the time for myself. I’ve been going for walks as of late while listening to some tunes! I live near conservation, so I’m lucky that I have a huge forest with lakes and a beach to unwind. But before I got hurt, I used to do cross-country, high-jump, and shotput (I miss those days 😭).
But, if you enjoy dancing – I encourage Zumba💃
I know it seems random, but it’s something super fun to do by yourself (or with someone else, I usually do it with my mom) and it just gets you moving. I’ve been doing Zumba almost every day because sitting on the couch is starting to get to me. It’s totally random – but it’s a fun way to get active in the comforts of your home, and you got some fun music to listen to. I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten out of that weird headspace though – I relate a lot to you in that aspect. It can take a while to get out of it, but the important part is that you did it! And I wish you the best with school, you’re almost done.
Also, happy Taurus season, babe~! 😘😘
Ouu, so what other signs associate with manipulation? I always hear Scorpio, so you’ve piqued my interest. And, I’m going to be honest, I’m still in shock that you’re a Taurus LOOL. I don’t know why, but the way you write reminds me of some of my friends/family who are Libras. You just have this diplomacy when you write? Do I sound crazy – probably 😂😂. I’ve never heard about the midheaven, but now that you told me that, it does make a lot of sense. Like you know how Zuko screams Mars? You scream Libra for me😋
YES I DID HEAR. Okay, so I’m from Canada, so ATLA is already here for us to watch – but my best friend (he lives in the States) literally called me screaming in excitement. We’re planning binge-watching dates for us to video chat and watch together. So I think I can safely assume you shall be binge-watching ATLA starting May 15 😉😉
Soft Zuko.
I swear, I fangirled soooooooo damn hard.
My heart – gone.
Soul – snatched.
Zuko is just such a cutie, like a teddy bear – with that smile of his and I just ajsdksadjksjdkasdksd My body can’t handle this level of cuteness. Like he has his kick-ass moments, but getting to see that other side of him was beautiful. My favourite moment was he gives Kiyi a piggy-back ride and tucks her into bed. If you end up reading the comics – you gotta let me know. I’m dying to know what you think of it!
It was also neat seeing Katara’s and Aang’s relationship develop in the comics (and Toph). Like the comics captured the essence of an awkward teenage romance (Katara and Aang) blooming into a long-lasting relationship. Like my friends said they cringed so hard during some ‘romantic’ moments between them, and they’re like it made us cringe not because it was bad, but because that was us when we were teenagers with our partners.
Oh wow – thank you for the examples! Honestly, it makes sense now about the domestic aspects with Zuko’s Cancer and Yue’s Venus. I just needed to make sure I was understanding it, I need to know these facts👏👏 But I swear – I feel like their whole relationship is the definition of chaotic neutral 😂😂
Is there a reason why certain signs have a strong presence in certain families (like you mentioned how you have a lot of ‘me’s’ in yours lol). Or is just random?
But I’m glad you enjoyed chapter 33, love! It feels so nice to get back into a writing routine – I was going nuts, not able to write consistently. I need to channel my chaotic energy into my stories LOOL
But I hope you’re taking care of yourself (family and friends included) in these times! It’s nice engaging in these long chats, it makes so happy (can you tell 😂).
I can’t wait till I hear from you again🌻~! 💜💜💜

Of Farms Fairs & Fame (Part 10)
He found her sitting by herself just on the outskirts of the fair where the music reached only faintly. Not that he expected her to have company. If anything she was probably trying to avoid Mai, Zuko, her father, and anyone else who would want to offer solace. He knew this and he almost felt bad intruding.
He didn’t know how to approach her, not when she was like this. In fact he couldn’t remember the last time he saw her sitting with her knees drawn up to her chest and a somber and withdrawn expression on her face. He noted that her guitar was wedged between her legs and her chest, so that she was practically slumped over it.
He didn’t know how to approach her so he didn’t.
Instead he retreated back onto the fairgrounds, where they were probably beginning to sample the cooking contest entries.
.oOo.
Azula carelessly plucked at the strings of her guitar. She had, had a perfectly good chance and she just went and let it go. A sudden urge to throw the guitar, to smash it until it splintered, overtook her. She squeezed her eyes shut and waited for the impulse to pass. She curled her fists into the grass and gritted her teeth. She could hear the incessant chirping of crickets interrupted only by the howl of a dog somewhere in town.
The urge didn’t want to pass so she mustered all of her self control and set her guitar down next to her. In that moment she hated herself. She couldn’t remember the last time she had choked up like that. She was almost certain that, that was the first time she had ever done so.
She heard a crunch behind her but she didn’t lift her head. If anyone was there, she’d let them approach her. But no one came to sit next to her. Not for a good long while. She sat there for an hour or so, looking at a glittering web of stars. She didn’t notice when Sokka dropped himself down next her until he said, “what happened up there?”
“I didn’t have a song prepared.”
“But y’all said…”
“I had one but I ain’t want to sing it.” She paused. “It weren’t that important anyways.”
“Ain’t important? It meant everythin’ to ya.”
“It can’t have been that important if I ran off the stage.” She muttered. “If I really wanted to be a singer so bad, I woulda done it… it ain’t that important.”
“Or maybe y’all went ‘n ran ‘cause it were the most important thing ‘n u wanted ta start it right.” Sokka countered.
“Now that ain’t make a whole lotta sense.” Azula rolled her eyes.
“Sure it does. Point is, it’s important to ya.”
It didn’t really matter if it was important to her. Whether it was or wasn’t, wouldn’t change that she had fled her own performance. She hadn’t even given herself a chance. She still couldn’t decide what would have been worse, doing as she had or standing on stage and breaking into tears in front of everyone because she could barely stomach talking about Ursa, much less singing about her. Somehow she thought that running was worse. At least if she went and cried, her voice would have been heard, there would have been power and emotion to the music. But, lord did she had the prospect of vulnerability.
“Hey, ya don’ need ta be sad. I went and got ya somethin’.”
“I ain’t want no more pie, Sokka. And I ain’t want ‘the popped corn’ neither.”
“This is better than food.” Sokka declared. She watched him reach into a little box, wondering how she hadn’t noticed that before.
“Sokka, what’s in there?” She asked upon seeing him pull out something wrapped in a bundle of blankets. Without answering he placed the bundle in her arms. She was about to hand it back when it wiggled. “Sokka…?”
“Unwrap it.”
Having enough hesitation for one night, Azula unfolds the blanket. “You didn’t.”
“I done did!” He replied proudly.
A little pink head peeked up at her. “It ain’t the same one.”
“Sure it is.” Sokka smiled. “You liked ‘im a lot ‘n I figered he might make ya feel better.”
Azula cradled the piglet at her bosom and looked over at Sokka. “How’d you get ‘im?”
“Ma ‘n Kat won. I used some a the prize money.”
“Sokka!” Azula scolded. “Wha’d I tell you ‘bout that?”
“Don’ worry ‘bout it. I tol’ you, we jus’ needed a lil’ extra cash to git the farm goin’ again. We got more then anuff now.” He promised. “So ya better enjoy yer piggy ‘cause he already likes ya.”
Azula rubbed her pointer on his teeny head and smiled. “He’s so small. I ain’t never see a pig so small.”
“Well then yer a good match fer each other. ‘Cause I ain’t never seen someone small as y’all.”
.oOo.
The half-glare, half-pout she shot him made him chuckle. But he didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. She always had been the shortest one in class. “What are ya gonna name ‘im?”
“I can name ‘im Aang, so Zuko can finally catch ‘im.”
“Are they still playin’ that game a tag?”
“I ain’t think they’ll ever stop. Not ‘til Zuko wins. So...they’ll be playin’ fer a good long time.” Azula replied.
A sense of accomplishment befell Sokka because she was joking and smiling again. He could tell that she still wasn’t entirely happy, but she wasn’t so withdrawn either. “How ‘bout ya name ‘im Runt.”
“That’s just ‘bout the most unoriginal thing I ever hear.” Azula rejected. “His name is gonna be Spade.”
“That’s a lil’ sinister don’ ya think?”
“‘Sactly. It’s ironic ‘cause he’s so small.”
Sokka cocked his head.
“It’s okay, you can laugh, it’s funny.”
“Y’all have a weird sense a humor, ‘Zula.”
“‘N you have a weird sense of literally everythin’ else.” Azula shrugged.
“That’s fine with me.” Sokka said. No sooner than the conversation dropped did the sorrow creep back onto Azula’s face. He had to keep her from thinking too much about it. He tried to recall how he consoled her when they were just kids.
.oOo.
Azula held Spade at eye level, watching him kick his teeny legs as though he’d be going somewhere. Watching the display, she could almost pretend like it was just a regular night. That TyLee wasn’t in the hospital and she still had time to prepare a song.  She lowered Spade back into her lap and wrapped him up in the blankets. She didn’t speak again until he was nestled in her lap and sleeping. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“Sure I did.” Sokka insisted, setting a hand between her shoulder blades. “Y’all helped my mom ‘n I so much. I just wanna do somethin’ nice fer ya.”
She was quiet for another heartbeat. “Jus’ you bein’ here is plenty anuff.” The way she’d spoken it left her wondering about the weight of her own words. Her belly fluttered, just what had she admitted? She sighed to herself, she was overthinking again. Of course him being there was enough, he was her closest friend.
But then he leaned in and wrapped his arms around he. Again, she found herself getting jittery. And for what? It wasn’t like he hadn’t done anything like that before. He’d hugged her a ton of times during their playdates. Hell, he’d kissed her in days when spreading cooties was a fear sweeping the third grade.
It was innocent.
But this time his embrace lingered.
Or maybe she was imagining it.
She had to be, because he pulled away, just like normal.
“Promise me that yer gonna keep writin’ songs.”
“Of course, I’m gonna keep writin’.”
“‘N singin’ ‘em?”
“‘N singin’ ‘em.” Azula confirmed. She couldn’t stop herself even if she tried.
“Good, ‘cause it ain’t like y’all ta give up so quick.”
This whole fair business. It was embarrassing and it did hefty damage to her ego. But like hell she’d give up. Sokka was right, it wasn’t in her blood to do so. A break, however wouldn’t be so bad. She had come to conclude that she simply couldn’t force a good song onto the paper. No, she’d let the lyrics come to her.
“Thanks for all a this?” Azula stated softly.
He leaned in again and Azula opened her arms for another hug. And he followed through. He followed through, but with an addition. It took her a surprised but giddy look from Sokka for her to realize that it was she who kissed him. Albeit, the kiss was on his forehead, but it was a kiss.
