First Kiss (Break 1)
A strollonso AU where 18 year old rookie Lance Stroll falls helplessly in love with the notoriously mean world champion. (1.2k words, no warnings) [@v3lnys] {filler chapter? I just felt like Lance and Nando getting closer would make more sense if they spent break together + Mark}
last part - masterlist - next part
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They had two weeks off and Lance had absolutely no plans, Nico was on vacation with his family to god knows where, Fernando had probably already arrived in Australia, and Lance didn't have any other friends on the paddock to worry about.
He had thought about going back to Canada but he just ended up back at his house in Switzerland. Spring had started by the time he got home so it wasn't like he could distract himself with snowboarding so he just ended up at home on his couch for the past five days.
Being alone was nice, but a part of him missed Fernando, oddly enough. They'd only ever hung out on the paddock but Lance had grown to look forward to the time they spent together, whether it was actually sitting and talking or just exchanging glances while in the middle of interviews.
As if it was fate, his phone began to rang. It was an unknown number but he figured it might be important, his dad had a history of calling him from random places just to check up on him, as if the 18 year old hadn't been left alone before.
"Hello?" He said, holding his (very small) phone to his ear
"Lancito, I am so glad you answered!" a voice on the other end spoke, a very familiar voice
"Nando?" Lance questioned "How did you get my number?"
"Is not important!" The Spaniard said, brushing off the question "Lancito, are you busy? If you are, cancel, come to Australia."
"No, I'm not busy." Lance responded, wondering if Fernando was really inviting him to Australia, wasn't he with Mark? Wouldn't that be awkward? "Is something important happening in Australia?"
"Si, You are coming, is important."
"Nando, I-" The younger boy laughed, not being able to wipe the smile off his face just from hearing the other mans voice "Sure, I'll come."
"Perfect, I'll send you the information, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, okay Nando"
"Bye, Lancito! Have a safe flight"
And with that the call ended and Lance wasted no time in buying the tickets to Australia (idk how people bought plane tickets in 2006...)
Lance got off the plane, trying to pat down the hair he could feel sticking up, he always slept on long flights and this one was no acception. It was weird being in Australia a week before he had to but he wasn't going to turn down Fernando is he wanted Lance there so bad, for whatever reason.
It was a Sunday morning and the airport was surprisingly busy, he eventually found his way out and got a taxi headed towards the address Fernando had texted him
"Just landed, headed your way now!!"
Lance stared at the screen before sending the message, just now wondering why exactly he was there, he wasn't blind to the media, especially when he was constantly being interviewed and asked questions fans were dying to know, he had heard the rumours, people saying Fernando was only talking to him to scare him, he was going to embarrass him, he had some ulterior motive, Lance hoped it wasn't true but now that he was blindly following Fernandos orders in another country while he was visiting his friend (who's seat he took) a part of him started to wonder if Fernando was planning something. He hit send.
They'd hadn't texted much, just Fernando sending him the information he needed and Lance thanking him before he got on the plane and turned off his phone, he wasn't too fond of it anyways.
"I am glad you made it"
"Is exciting"
"Tell the driver to go faster"
Lance smiled at his phone, excited to see the Spaniard again, even though he saw him not even a week ago.
"I shouldn't break the law yet"
"I just got here and my dad isn't here to bail me out!"
"I will do it, no worries Lancito"
He shook his head at the text, turning off his phone and waiting to arrive, not too far away from the location
He stepped out of the car, paying the taxi fare then walking up to the house, hesitating to knock. Maybe texting would be better? Or calling? Or anything besides knocking? Before he even had the chance to decide the door opened, revealing a slightly-taller-than-him Mark Webber and Fernando standing by his side, the two closer than he thought they would be
"Lance, welcome, so sorry about making you come so randomly." Mark spoke first, stepping back to invite Lance in
"It's no problem, I wasn't doing anything anyway" Lance smiled as he walked into the house, scanning what he could see
"I told you Lancito didn't mind" Fernando said to Mark, hitting his arm slightly "Is good to make sure you two get along before people start to speculate, ay?" Fernando smiled at Mark then at Lance, reaching up to flatten the hair still sticking up on his head
Lance wasn't sure why he was surprised Fernando was still calling him his nickname, he didn't know why he expected anything to change with Mark around, Fernando seemed the same, if anything he seemed happier around Mark. It made him feel bad, he was the reason Mark lost his seat, the reason Fernando's friend was no longer on the paddock, the reason Fernando had to settle for him instead.
"Well, Lance, I don't mind that you took my seat" Mark laughed, closing the door before putting an arm around Lance's shoulder "I was done with travelling all the time anyway, so don't beat yourself up over what people say"
Lance nodded, Mark was right, and he was pretty old so it made sense for him to be smarter.
"Now, how about we have fun now that we've dragged you to the land down under?" That made Lance smile, he was looking forward to spending the rest of his break actually doing stuff besides binging TV shows.
The next week went by so quick Lance was surprised when he actually had to go to the paddock, almost as surprised as fans when he showed up with both Fernando and Mark.
He hesitated when Fernando suggested all of them going together, worried about what people would say, but the older men made it obvious they couldn't care less so thats how they ended up going together, Mark having plans of doing interviews around the paddock and spending his free time in sither the pink or blue and yellow garage.
Being in Australia a week early was great, they were busy the whole time but Lance enioyed it, loving the time away from his phone and especially away from the media. It made him notice how close Mark and Fernando really were, he felt jealous at times but it was probably just because he was used to having Fernandos attention on him after quali and races, he felt selfish for feeling that way so of course he never addressed it.
"Where are you going first?" Lance asked, looking at Mark, both of them on either side of Fernando
"I was thinking of interviewing people first, it's gonna be weird being the one asking the questions"
"As long as you stay far away from me, we're good"
Fernando shook his head, pulling the taller man closer "We really need to get you used to the media, eh? All you do is complain" He sucked his teeth after he finished teasing Lance, earning nothing but an eyeroll from the teen
"Yeah, yeah." Lance smiled, not able to stop himself when it came to Fernando "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."
And with that the race week started.

rain trickles down your hair to your shoes; workout clothes soaked.
you wanted to go on a late-night walk, then suddenly it started pouring out of nowhere. currently, you’re standing under a roof edge, arms crossed while you wait for your ride.
your brother isn’t around to pick you up, so your last resort was his best friend. he’s your brother’s age, who’s two years older than you. he’s known him ever since high school, yet your mother always said matt was a bad influence.
although, you do see where she’s coming from. matt was the type to always get in trouble in school, and overall he’s just a big grump. he’s only been nice to you, your brother, and of course his siblings.
headlights glow down the street, getting closer until the minivan stops in front of you. you quickly head over to it, open the door, and get in on the passenger’s side. “hi matty!” you beam. “thank you so much for picking me up. i didn’t know it was going to rain.”
he looks at you, wearing the leather jacket he’s had for as long as you can remember.
he truly doesn’t understand how you can be so happy no matter what, even if you are drenched in water. “you should’ve checked the weather before you left.” he mumbles, putting the car in drive.
“well, it was sunny all day. i didn’t expect rain. it’s okay, though. it’s like a surprise shower.” you smile, fastening the seatbelt.
“uh oh,” you say, looking through your fanny pack that you have strapped to your stomach.
he sighs, still focusing on the road. “what is it now?”
“i may or may not have left my keys home and locked myself out. nobody’s home.” you lick your teeth. “can i come to your place until my brother picks me up? pretty please, matty?”
“fine.” he inhales sharply. “and stop calling me matty.”
it’s silent as you two sit on the couch. your brother texted you saying he’ll let you know when he’s on his way, but god knows how long that’ll be. (despite it being almost midnight)
matt notices a shiver, taking his eyes off of his phone to look. your hands rub up and down your arms trying to warm up, but the chattering of your teeth indicates that it isn’t helping. “go to my room and grab one of my hoodies and pajama pants. they should be in my dresser.” he says coolly.
you smile. “it’s okay, i can wait. i’m fine.”
“put them on.” he demands. “you’re soaking wet and freezing.”
staring at him, he keeps staring back because of your silence. “go.”
you sigh like a child, getting up from the couch and walking down the hallway into his bedroom.
matt’s clothes are far too big on you, but you do feel warmer and more comfortable. his pants hang low just past your waistline. the hoodie on the other hand is long, causing the sleeves to give you sweater paws.
you sit on the chair he has in the corner, scrolling on your phone. matt can’t help but stand at the doorway, watching you.
not in a creepy way, but the fact you’re wearing his clothes has his dick reacting from the view. the way it’s too big for your body turns him to fuck on.
he cannot feel this way toward you. your his best friend’s sister, for god’s sake. but he can’t help it.
“feel better?”
you get startled by his voice. “yes, thank you.”
“told you so,” he grumbles.
rolling your eyes playfully, you stand up. “i didn’t mean to linger in here. i got distracted.”
as you start to walk by him, he grabs onto your shoulders to stop you. your breath hitches at the feeling of his rings; the way they drag down your arm makes you subconsciously clench your thighs together.
his cologne floods your nostrils, and the way he’s looking at you is different now.
he’s always been a grumpy kid and had a resting bitch face, but now he’s looking at you seductively and with need.
the hand that was on your arm now cups the front of your neck. there’s no pressure, but the fingers with no rings go over your bottom lip.
he sighs sympathetically. “it sucks that you’re off limits. i would so fuck you right now.”
your eyebrows raise high from the sudden courage he had to just blurt that out. however, you smirk.
“if you kiss me.” you shrug. “i might let it happen.”
he groans, leaning down to smash his lips on yours.
still intact, you grab his jacket and pull him in closer, your bodies moving at the same rhythm.
he starts to push you back to where the chair is, turning you 180° so he’s the one sitting in it while you straddle his lap.
your hips grind, rubbing just the right spot on not only you but him also. you smile into the kiss when you feel him hardening beneath you.
tugging at the pants you're wearing, he pulls away. “take these off.”
you shimmy them down your legs as he unbuckles his belt and pulls his bottoms down below his thighs. he grabs your hips to hover you over him, but stops and teases the tip.
you wiggle to get some friction as he smirks. “manners.”
“please.” you whine. “please let me ride your cock. i’m so fucking wet for you.”
matt sinks you slowly onto him, your walls immediately stretching to his size. “i didn’t know you had such a dirty mouth.”
you mumble something into his chest, bouncing uncontrollably on his dick. your sweater paws ball up on his biceps. your ass slaps repeatedly on his skin, the sound echoing off the walls.
he tuts, grabbing your ass and giving it a firm squeeze. “why so quiet?”
“stop.” you mewl, nuzzling your face even deeper into his body. your face is hot from embarrassment.
“is somebody embarrassed to be fucking her brother’s best friend? it looks like ms. goody-two-shoes is a little naughty.” he says lowly into your ear, causing you to start whimpering and going even faster.
it doesn’t take long for his tip to brush against the right spot “oh, fuck.” you moan, legs shaking at his sides.
“better not get this chair dirty, otherwise i’ll make you clean it,” he warns, knowing that you can’t control your orgasm.
pouting, you clench hard. of course, your release runs down his thighs and onto the seat. your eyes are glassed over while you look at him, who’s shaking his head. “you’re making a mess.”
somehow so quickly, he lifts you off of him and onto the floor. now, he’s behind you, and your cheek leans against the chair.
he again nudges at your entrance, this time you buck your hips back but he grips them tight. “clean up your mess first.”
he doesn’t ask. he orders while pushing your head down further into the cushion.
obeying, you flick your tongue onto your arousal. normally, you’d find this gross, but you’re so wet and turned on that you’ll listen to whatever he says. his presence feels like you are under a spell.
a sweet and salty taste fall on your tongue, following his instructions to a t.
a hum of approval is heard behind you. he spreads your legs wider, slamming into you with no warning.
you moan loudly, arching as much as you can in this position. “m-matt! shit, matt!” you yelp.
he grunts, taking in how well your pussy feels engulfing him.
tears threaten to spill from your eyes once they roll back, moaning loud and clear when your g-spot gets abused already.
strings of curses leave your lips, the way he’s balls deep inside of you right now have you quiver a lot. “you feel—” you pause, licking your lips and shutting your eyes tight. “so good. like… holy fucking god.”
he chuckles, placing his hand on your shoulder to drill into you harder. before you even know that it’s happening, you cum for the second time, shaking uncontrollably from the pleasure.
a deep breath later, matt makes sure to pull out and paint your back white.
“you can keep the clothes.” he says, jiggling your ass to play with it. “so you can wear them the next time i fuck you.”

The night unveiled the mesmerizing beauty of the city as Karina and I zoomed through its streets. The motorcycle's roar echoed, seemingly announcing our presence to the entire city. Yet, in our youthful spirit, we disregarded it. Karina had injected adventure and excitement into my life, making every moment extraordinary. She's what makes my days and nights awesome, always bringing joy. I gotta thank Aeri for introducing me to Karina, even if we didn't hit it off right away.
•·················•·················•
“Wanna come along?” That’s all she said. Life always seems to dangle something new in front of me. Aeri pitched this idea, and I had no clue what was in store. Mysterious. But I trusted her completely; she’d been hustling and making some cash. It was our little secret. A game where the risk just added spice to the thrill. Kind of sketchy but exhilarating, you get me?
“You sure this is the right way?” I asked cautiously. We were heading down these shady, dimly lit stairs where the lights flickered oh-so-slowly."
"Yeah, I know the way. Been here a few times, no sweat!" she assured me, continuing down the steps.
As we got closer to the door, the music’s volume surged. Stepping inside, the booming bass hit us hard. The place was a riot of colorful lights, but there was this pervasive mix of gasoline and weed smell that wasn't too pleasant.
"Is this your usual weekend scene?" I quizzed Aeri.
"No doubt, I do. I'm here to help Karina gear up for her races," she said.
"Are you finally gonna introduce me to this Karina you're always on about?" I inquired.
"Absolutely! I'll take you to her now. Or would you prefer to check out the place first?" she asked.
"Let's take a look around first," I replied.
Aeri gave me the grand tour of this spot. I soaked it all in, kinda interested in this whole new vibe where everything's a bit of a gamble. It's all about the danger and excitement, you know? I find it pretty intriguing. This place, right before the race starts, it's got a vibe. But I did however, noticed how everyone's eyes are on us.
"Hey, what's with all the staring? Starting to weird me out a bit," I mentioned to Aeri, feeling a tad uncomfortable.
"They all know I'm friends with Karina. She's, well, let's just say she's a big deal around here. They call her the 'Queen' of racing," Aeri explained, and it all clicked for me.
"Can we bail, though? Feeling a bit too conspicuous," I suggested.
"Sure thing! Let's get you introduced to Karina; you two will hit it off, I'm sure!" Aeri exclaimed, ready to make the intro.
Aeri dragged me to this garage, all bright and half-open. She went and knocked on it like a maniac. ‘Karina! I'm here! Did you miss me?!’ Aeri shouted at the top of her lungs.
“Aeri! Keep it down! Get in here already,” the girl I figured was Karina snapped.
Aeri nudged me to step in first. I crouched a bit and walked into the garage. The garage was alive with various colored lights, yet one glaring light outshone the rest. Posters and tools adorned the walls, while a car occupied one side and a motorcycle sat on the other. The girl I presumed to be Karina was busy fixing something on the bike.
“Karina! Meet my bestie Y/n! Y/n, meet Karina!” Aeri introduced us, gesturing between us."
"Hey, Karina, nice to meet you. Aeri's told me loads about you, and don't worry, I won't spill anything that might get you thrown in jail," I said, immediately regretting my choice of words.
"Hi," was all she replied before returning to her work on the bike, leaving me feeling a bit like a fool.
Naturally, I felt offended. I wanted to confront her, but I held back. I hardly knew her and picking a fight with Aeri's friend wasn't the right move. It'd make me a lousy friend.
"Don't stress, Y/n. Karina's just... like that. She's very... monotone, but she's cool. Give her some time to warm up to you. Honestly, I didn't spill that I spilled everything about her illegal racing," Aeri explained with an awkward grin on her face.
“ It's fine it didn't bother me," I lied, though it bothered me more than I let on.
"So, Karina, when's your next race?" Aeri asked.
"In about 30 minutes. You heading out or sticking around here in the garage?" Karina inquired.
"Since this is Y/n's first illegal race, I'll probably stick around, cheering you on alongside her," Aeri nudged me while saying that.
"Alright, let's head out. I'm all set," she said, wrapping up the final touches on her bike.
We all made our way out of the garage, heading toward the main event. Karina revved her bike, riding off towards the street where the race would take place. The way people glanced at us left me feeling intimidated. Despite my smile, fear crept in. This was uncharted territory for me.
"Hey, Karina! What's up! Ready to race?! There's a hefty pot riding on you, lots of folks betting," a guy shouted as he approached us.
"Absolutely, BamBam. I'm always geared up to win some cash," Karina replied with a grin.
I never thought this girl smiled, but here she was, flashing a smile in front of me. It was kinda cute.
"Awesome! Just remember to stay safe, can't afford to lose our top racer, aka our 'Queen'," The guy I now know as BamBam added.
"Who's that guy? Her boyfriend?" I asked Aeri in a hushed tone.
Aeri stifled a laugh. "Nah, not her boyfriend. That's her childhood friend. They grew up together, got into street racing, and he's sort of her manager. He always bets on her because he knows she'll win. Also, Karina's gay and has a dick," Aeri explained frankly.
The last sentence caught me off guard and I took a double take at Aeri.
“She has a dick??,” I blurted out in surprise.
"Yeah, she was born with it. Why, wanna hop on it?" Aeri quipped, giving me a smirk.
I was flabbergasted! “What? No way!" I exclaimed.
"Sure, just saying, you're not the only one. Lots of other girls here do too," she casually replied.
"Alright, alright, let's stop talking about her dick," I said, eager to change the subject.
"Stop talking about my what?" Karina chimed in, joining our conversation.
I was horrified. If she overheard our discussion, I'd be mortified.
"Your bike," Aeri quickly interjected, coming to my rescue. "Y/n here was just saying how much she liked it but wanted to stop gushing over your bike."
"Thanks," Karina replied, giving me a stare that made me cough in awkwardness. Why did I suddenly feel so awkward? I needed a shot, maybe ten.
"Anyway, I came to tell you guys that the race is starting soon, so get to your spots. And remember, don't accept drinks from strangers. Have the bartender made you the drink, alright?" Karina instructed us.
Can we grab a drink, Aeri? I seriously need one after that almost-embarrassment," I admitted, fanning myself to emphasize the point.
"Sure thing," Aeri replied, leading me towards the bar.
Once we had our drinks, we headed towards the restricted area where only people acquainted with Karina were allowed. There was a large TV screen displaying Karina, geared up with her helmet on, ready for the race. Her eyes reflected unwavering determination, making me equally certain she'd emerge victorious.
The audio from the scene was clear, capturing a guy beside Karina yelling that she was going to lose. Karina, unfazed, remained focused, displaying even greater determination. A girl emerged onto the street, holding a red flag. Raising her arm, she brought it down swiftly, marking the start of the race.
The race unfolded rapidly. Kai, the guy I just learned the name of, initially took the lead, but as they reached a sharp turn, Karina surged past him. Watching her on the screen, it was evident—she had a natural talent for this. Her movements on the bike were graceful, navigating every turn effortlessly. I finally understood why people bet on her. Yet, watching her gave me a mix of sensations, tingling feelings that I couldn't quite decipher—was it anxiety or something else?
As they approached the finish line, it was a dead heat. Anxiety crept up on me, evident in my shaking leg. I desperately hoped for Karina's victory. Beside me, Aeri seemed absolutely chilled, not a speck of doubt in her eyes. I couldn't help but wonder why she was so composed. "She knows something," I muttered to myself, suspecting that Aeri had an inside track on this.
Right after that thought, Aeri did the exact thing I suspected she knew about. With a simple press of a button, Karina's speed surged, propelling her faster than before, and she breezed across the finish line.
When Karina hit that button, everyone was stunned by the speed she picked up. But as soon as she crossed that finish line, the crowd erupted in cheers. Aeri and I jumped to our feet, cheering, hugging, and bouncing around in joy. Karina had not only won the race but also scored a substantial amount of prize money. BamBam, having won all the bets he placed, was also celebrating his success.
After breaking on her bike and removing her helmet, Karina was engulfed by a swarm of well-wishers. Aeri and I maneuvered through the crowd to reach her. Aeri led the way, offering her congratulations with a pat on the back, while I stood there beaming at her. Our eyes met, and she returned a small grin. For me, that was enough. Her eyes spoke volumes, brimming with excitement and joy.
As things settled, Karina gathered her winnings, and we trailed back to the garage together.
"That was one of your finest races in a while!" Aeri praised.
"Thank you. I really appreciate you guys being there, cheering me on," Karina replied, a grateful expression on her face.
"So, when's the next race?" Aeri inquired.
"In two weeks. I need to get some more parts for my bike, upgrade it, and also visit my mom to give her some money," Karina informed us.
"Speaking of your mom, how's she doing?" Aeri inquired.
"She's still working, despite me telling her to retire. That woman is just too stubborn," Karina replied, shaking her head.
"Just like you," Aeri teased with a smirk.
"Hey! I have my reasons, alright?" Karina retorted with a slight glare.
Before Aeri could reply, her phone rang. 'I'll be right back,' she said before leaving Karina and me alone. 'And now there are two,' I murmured to myself.
"So, Karina, you did an awesome job out there! I was really impressed by how you clutch in the end. I was so anxious the whole time, rooting for you, and I just wanted you to win and I was so worried—" I started to ramble.
"Y/n!" Karina exclaimed, gripping my shoulders and staring at me. "Calm down, you're rambling," she urged, trying to rein in my chatter.
Her sudden touch caught me off guard, bringing an unexpected closeness that felt like we were almost within kissing distance. I shook my head, trying to dispel those thoughts. "Sorry... that happens when I feel awkward or anxious," I explained.
She withdrew her hands and kept staring at me. "It's fine, just take a moment. If you need to ease your anxiety, try dunking your head in ice-cold water. That might help," Karina suggested calmly.
"I'll keep that in mind for next time," I replied.
Karina returned to her bike, resuming work by taking parts off, fetching tools and components from her workbench, and moving back and forth between them. Lost in my thoughts, I scanned the garage, wondering where Aeri had vanished to.
"You know, you can sit, right?" Karina's voice startled me out of my reverie. I glanced at her, finding her staring at me and pointing to the chair nearby.
“Oh right, sorry,”I sheepishly grinned in response, taking the hint and finally sitting down. I couldn't help but keep glancing around the garage, occasionally stealing quick looks at Karina. The silence became unbearable, prompting me to break it.
"Do you need any help?" I offered, hoping to engage in conversation.
"Nope," she replied bluntly.
"Can I help you, though? I can't stand this silence, and I want to do something," I persisted.
"You can sit and be quiet," she repeated, smirking as she glanced up.
I remained silent, pursing my lips and continuing to observe her.
"Please, let me help!" I pleaded, growing desperate to do something.
"Fine, come here," she finally relented. I eagerly approached her, thrilled to lend a hand.
"I'm giving you a very big responsibility, okay? Now, hold the flashlight and don't move," Karina instructed, handing me the flashlight.
I felt disappointed; holding the flashlight was something my dad always made me do, and I often got yelled at for doing it wrong. Nevertheless, I was doing something, and for the next 20 minutes, I held onto it diligently. Finally, Aeri returned from her phone call.
"What the hell?! What took so long?" I exclaimed at her, still clutching the flashlight.
"Y/n, hold the flashlight correctly!" Karina interjected. "Oops, sorry," I apologized and adjusted my grip to hold it correctly.
"Sorry I took so long; it was an important call I can't go into details about right now, but I promise it's nothing bad," Aeri explained.
"Okay, I hope everything's alright," I replied.
"Everything's good. Are you ready to leave? Because I am," Aeri asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready," I confirmed, turning off the flashlight and handing it back to Karina.
"Alright, let's go. Bye, Karina! See you soon!" Aeri called out as she exited the garage.
"Bye, Karina, till then," I called out. As I began to duck my head under the garage door, I caught her saying goodbye.
"Bye, Y/n," I heard Karina's voice say as she continued tinkering with her bike.
"Alright, let's head back to our dorm. Don't worry, you'll be back; this is just the beginning," Aeri reassured me as we made our way back toward the stairs we came from.
•·················•·················•
It's the following day, and a strong urge pulls me to return to the garage. I'm not sure why I feel this way, but the desire is there. After getting ready, I head towards Aeri’s room to check if she's around, but her neatly made bed indicates she's probably left for class.
Deciding to go on my own, I recall the location and remember that Aeri had sent me the address. Gathering my belongings, I leave the room and start walking towards the destination.
I'm in the stairwell, making my way down toward the familiar door Aeri had led me through. As I approach, I notice the music still blaring, but today, the neon blue lights replace yesterday's vibrant colors. I glance around before heading toward Karina’s garage.
Suddenly, a random guy yells, "Hey, Beautiful! Come over here and sit on my lap!" I choose to ignore him and keep walking.
"Come on, I know you heard me! Come here!" he yells out again, this time patting his lap in an insistent and uncomfortable manner.
"No thanks, I'm good," I firmly replied, trying to maintain my course toward Karina’s garage.
But, as expected, the guy persists and ends up blocking my way. I look up at him, my expression blank, while he grins down at me. "Can I help you?" I retort, my arms crossed and an attitude evident in my tone.
"Yea, I asked you to do something but you didn't," the musty guy states.
"Yea, I know," I respond bluntly.
"You know... I don't take no for an answer," he declares, his tone suggesting an intent to push the issue.
"And? I do not care," I reiterated, my arms remaining crossed.
He made a move to reach for my arm, but thankfully, a familiar voice intervened. It was Karina. I felt a surge of relief; I was beginning to get anxious at the thought of him grabbing me.
"Nate, what are you doing?" Karina's voice addressed him directly.
"Karina! Hey! I was just trying to get this beautiful lady to sit on my lap and do other things if you know what I mean," Nate replied with a suggestive wink, trying to play it off.
Karina's expression turned serious. "Actually, she’s with me, and she is off-limits. I do not want you anywhere near her," Karina asserted firmly, setting a clear boundary.
"How come? I'm just having some fun," Nate retorted with a smirk, clearly not taking Karina's instructions seriously.
"I don't care. She’s off-limits. Now leave!" Karina's tone grew firmer, her frustration evident.
"Yea, sure, see you around, beautiful," Nate said, smirking as he began to walk away.
Karina gripped my hand firmly, concern evident in her eyes. "Are you okay? What are you doing here by yourself? Do you realize that if I wasn’t here, things could've gone bad? You can’t be here without me or Aeri, got it?" She guided me towards her garage, still holding my hand.
"I know. I'm sorry. I promise not to come here without you or Aeri," I assured her.
"You didn't answer my question. Why are you here?" She pressed for an explanation.
"I just wanted to continue helping you with your bike. Also, I had no class today, so I decided to come here," I answered honestly.
"You came all this way just to help me with my bike?" she asked incredulously.
"Yeah, why not?" I replied casually.
Karina chuckled in disbelief. "Okay, fine, you can help. Let's get started," she agreed.
And so, that's what we did. I began coming by every other day or whenever I had free time to assist her in preparing her bike for the upcoming race. Over time, we started enjoying each other's company, engaging in light conversation. However, we hadn't broached certain topics—things I wanted to know, like why she started street racing. I chose to keep those questions to myself, saving them for another day.
One such day, I had no class and was free. I had Karina’s number now, so I texted her beforehand that I was heading to the garage. She mentioned she'd meet me at the door, and true to her word, that's where she was. We walked together towards the garage, and she let me enter first before following. "So, what are we working on today?" I inquired.
"Nothing, because we are finished!" she announced with a grin, a familiar expression that I had come to adore over the past two weeks. That grin, when directed at me, felt unlike any other.
"Really? You finished it?" I asked in amazement.
"No, we finished it," she corrected, her grin turning into a warm smile.
I mirrored her smile. "Does that mean we get to go on a test drive?" I was thrilled at the prospect of riding the bike after investing so much effort into it.
"Of course! Here, let me get you a helmet," she offered, fetching one for me. She returned, placing the helmet on me. The visor was closed, but a simple click opened it, and suddenly, Karina was gazing into my eyes.
"There you are, hi!" she greeted with a grin.
"Hi back," I replied, returning her greeting. She continued to gaze at me for a moment before turning to retrieve her own helmet, securing it in place. Walking over to her bike, she mounted it first, signaling for me to climb on behind her.
Once I was on, I instinctively held onto the sides of the bike, but Karina guided my arms around her stomach, encouraging me to wrap them securely. I held on tightly, feeling the firmness of her toned stomach, grateful that she couldn't see my blushing face.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
"Of course," I replied, trying to mask any hint of nervousness in my voice.
She ignited the engine, and it roared thunderously, the sound reverberating throughout the garage. As she opened the garage door, the engine revved, and we surged out. The speed we gained made me hold onto Karina even tighter, a sudden fear gripping me.
In my helmet, I heard her voice. "You okay back there?" she inquired.
"Wait, how am I hearing you so clearly?" I asked, puzzled.
"There's Bluetooth connected to the helmets," she explained.
"Ah, that’s nice. And to answer your question, yes, I am okay, just a bit scared at the speed we're going," I confessed.
"Do you trust me?" she asked.
"Yes," I replied without hesitation.
"Then everything will be okay," she assured me, continuing to ride out of the tunnels and onto the main road.
As we navigated through the city, Karina's voice came through the helmets. "I want to take you somewhere, will you let me?" she asked.
Her proposal made my heart melt; it was a simple yet profound request. "Yes, take me wherever you want to go," I responded.
"Okay, thank you," she replied, steering toward her chosen destination.
We ascended a hill with a breathtaking view of the city, but Karina kept driving until we reached our final stop. She parked the bike, removing the key, and got off first. Extending her hand, she helped me dismount as well. "What is this place?" I inquired, following her closer to the view.
"It's a place where my dad brought my mom to confess his feelings to her. It was his spot, and even before that, it belonged to my grandma. After my dad passed away, my mom brought me here because I couldn't get over his death. She shared all their stories with me, and we laughed and cried together," Karina explained, her voice carrying the weight of memories.
I hung onto her every word. Karina paused for a moment before continuing.
"She also told me to come here whenever I feel stressed out or just need to connect with my dad in a way. So that's what I did. I was here last night, seeking guidance. I asked him if I should go forth with something, and I got the answer I wanted," she said, smiling warmly at me as she spoke.
Karina's revelation left me speechless. I sensed there was more she wanted to express.
"There’s another thing Mom told me about this spot. She said if I wanted to confess my feelings to someone, I should come here. It’s a place special to me, where my dad and grandma did the same in the past," she explained, her gaze fixed on me.
My heart raced at her words. She took hold of my hands. "Y/n, over the last two weeks, my feelings for you have grown. It started when I saw Nate getting too close to you. I realized then that I’d do anything to keep you safe. I've cherished every moment we've spent fixing my bike. I’ve come to realize that I have feelings for you. Please, tell me you feel the same?”
I was taken aback by her confession, my mind racing as I processed her words and the depth of my own feelings.
I was taken aback. Karina's confession of her feelings caught me by surprise, but it filled me with joy to know that the emotions were mutual. With heartfelt honesty, I replied, “Karina... from the moment your smile caught my eye, I felt something special. The time we've shared, every moment, it's made my feelings grow stronger. I do feel the same way. I'm grateful you feel it too.”
As Karina's hand cupped my cheek, her touch was gentle yet filled with longing. Our gazes locked, conveying emotions words couldn't express. I leaned into her touch, feeling the warmth of her hand against my skin. In that silent exchange, the air thickened with anticipation. We moved closer, our bodies drawn together by an invisible force. When our lips finally met, a surge of electricity ran through me, setting my nerves on fire. My heart raced with a mix of excitement and nervousness, mirroring the intensity I sensed in Karina. Every heartbeat seemed synchronized, creating an unspoken harmony between us. I withdrew my hand from hers, instinctively wrapping both around her neck, drawing her closer and intensifying the kiss. Simultaneously, her hand moved to the side of my stomach, tracing gentle, reassuring circles. The passionate exchange stirred a whirlwind of emotions between us, each moment pulsating with raw feelings. As the kiss deepened, the need for air became undeniable, forcing us to reluctantly break apart, breathless and exhilarated.
We were both breathing heavily, savoring the lingering sensation of the kiss. I opened my eyes first; Karina's remained closed, a charming smile gracing her face. When her eyes finally met mine, we shared a moment of laughter, both in disbelief and excitement. Karina reached out, taking my hand. "Come on, let's go do something fun," she said, smiling warmly.
I grabbed her hand, and we sprinted back to her bike. She swiftly handed me the helmet, planting one more kiss on my lips before securing the helmet over my head. With her helmet on, she mounted the bike, extending her hand to help me get on. I wrapped my arms around her waist, holding on tightly as she revved the engine and guided us to our next stop.
This time, cruising through the city felt different—carefree, even. I felt lighter, more alive, and undeniably happy, all thanks to the girl in front of me. As we reached Imperial, a nightclub, Karina dismounted first and helped me off the bike. She handed the keys to the valet, grasped my hand, and led me confidently toward the entrance. We bypassed any need for IDs as Karina was familiar with the bouncer.
After arriving, we beelined to the bar for drinks. Shots flowed freely, and we lost ourselves in the music, dancing together all night. Carefree and spirited, we moved to the beats, laughing and enjoying the moment. Eventually, we somehow made it back home, and waking up there, I was grateful that we'd safely returned.
I woke up in a room that didn’t seem familiar, but seeing Karina next to me put me at ease. Glancing around, I noticed a picture of her and BamBam on the nightstand. It was Karina's room. I felt a moment of panic, worrying we'd gone too far last night, but a quick check under the blanket revealed I was fully dressed. I sighed in relief and stole a glance at Karina, peacefully asleep beside me. She stirred, and I found myself captivated by her face. She slowly opened her eyes, catching me in the act.
“What a lovely sight to wake up to,” she said, her morning voice soft and gentle.
I grinned and leaned in for a kiss. She reciprocated, but before it could linger, she broke away. “As much as I'd love to, let me brush my teeth first.”
“Karina, it's fine. Come here,” I insisted, trying to pull her back for another kiss. With a laugh, she evaded my grasp and dashed into the bathroom, teasingly repeating, “No, let me brush my teeth!”
I stayed seated on her bed, chuckling at her playful antics, before eventually rising and making my way to the bathroom. While we brushed our teeth, our playful nudges and giggles made it feel like we were back in high school.
Once we finished brushing our teeth, we moved to her kitchen and decided to make some food. Karina prepared some eggs and toast, a simple yet satisfying breakfast.
“Y/n,” Karina said, breaking the calm ambiance of the morning.
“Yeah?” I responded, looking up to meet her gaze.
Her eyes held a mix of adoration and nervousness. “Will you be my girlfriend?” she asked, her voice slightly wavering.
My heart fluttered in excitement. "I would love to be your girlfriend," I replied, rising from my seat to give her a passionate kiss. She returned it with equal fervor.
Breaking the kiss, she took a deep breath. "There's a race tonight. I want you and Aeri to be there, please," she requested.
"Absolutely, count on us!" I assured her.
"Great! You guys are like my good luck charms in a way, so I need you there," she said, gently rubbing my sides.
The tension was palpable as the night settled in. Karina had her eyes set on a significant prize this time. Winter, her competitor, was no ordinary racer, having secured victories at a level matching Karina's own accomplishments. When I inquired if Karina felt nervous about this race, she assured me of her composure, having previously met Winter, who seemed amiable.
As we arrived at the garage, the atmosphere crackled with a blend of excitement and anticipation. Aeri and I joined forces to help Karina ready her bike, meticulously tuning every detail for optimum performance. Meanwhile, Karina engaged in a serious conversation with BamBam, strategizing about bets and fine-tuning her approach for the upcoming race.
"Think Karina's got this one in the bag?" I asked Aeri, passing her a wrench.
"I'm not entirely certain this time. Winter's no joke. She's a fantastic racer, saw her work before, and it's impressive," Aeri replied, adjusting a tool.
“She’s really that good?” I inquired, surprised by Aeri’s statement about Winter.
“She’s just as good as Karina,” Aeri confirmed.
Karina returned after her conversation with BamBam, drawing me in for a quick peck to express gratitude for cleaning her bike. Before I could respond, Aeri interjected playfully, demanding her own acknowledgment for the help she'd provided. Karina indulged her with a forehead kiss, a smirk playing on her lips.
Aeri teased about being the matchmaker, observing Karina and me embracing each other. As the moment of the race arrived, BamBam's booming voice signaled Karina to prepare, redirecting everyone's attention to the impending competition.
“Alright guys, let's go race,” Karina announced, setting the momentum for the upcoming event. As we made our way to the race track, Winter appeared, engrossed in conversation with some acquaintances. Aeri departed momentarily to fetch drinks while I stayed by Karina's side.
Karina sought to park her bike beside Winter’s. “Are you okay waiting here for a bit?” she inquired.
“Yes, I'm good,” I replied as she moved to position her bike. In the meantime, Winter approached me. “Hey, what's your name?” she asked with a smile.
“I'm Y/n, and you’re Winter,” I responded.
“That’s me! So… why is a beautiful girl standing alone by herself?” Winter questioned, her expression playful.
“Oh, just waiting on a friend,” I answered casually, trying to keep things light amidst the anticipation of the race.
“How about this? You and I go somewhere together after the race is done?” Winter proposed, her tone playful.
“Umm-” I hesitated, feeling a rush of panic. Where was Karina when I needed her?
“Oh, come on, I don't bite… unless you want me to?” Winter flirted, her demeanor teasing.
"Karina!" Relief washed over me as she arrived, once again coming to my rescue.
"Karina! This is your girlfriend?" Winter's curiosity was evident in her gaze toward both of us.
"Yes, she is." Karina confirmed, wrapping her arms around me protectively.
Winter eyed Karina's protective gesture and then smirked. "Okay then, your girl is a fine dime. I want to make a bet. If I win, you break up with Y/n, and she comes with me. If I don't, we can act like this conversation never happened," Winter proposed, extending her hand for a handshake.
“Deal,” Karina said, her tone firm, as she shook Winter’s hand.
“Great doing business with you,” Winter said with a smirk, winking at me before strolling toward her bike.
My heart raced with disbelief and hurt. “Karina, seriously? You’re just going to let that happen?” I felt betrayed, hurt that she would entertain such an idea without discussing it with me. I began to turn away, but Karina caught hold of my hand before I could leave.
“Y/n listen to me,” Karina pleaded as she held onto my hand.
I stopped but didn’t turn around. “No way. I can't believe this. You’re willing to throw away our relationship just like that,” I exclaimed, snapping my fingers in frustration. “We haven't even been together for two days, and now you’re betting on me? If you lose, I’m as good as gone,” I said, my anger palpable, trying to control the quiver in my voice.
“I did it to protect you.” Her voice cracked with an unexpected vulnerability.
“Protect me?” I turned to face her, frustration and confusion mixing within me.
“Winter... She’s a ruthless racer, and she’s been known for her tricks off the track. I couldn’t risk anything happening to you. I had to agree, but believe me, I never meant it. You mean more to me than anything else, Y/n. Please, you have to trust me on this.”
Her words struck a chord, but I was still shaken. “How could you make a deal like that without even discussing it with me?”
Karina's expression softened, remorse clear in her eyes. “I know, and I’m sorry. I panicked. Please, I’ll figure out a way. I won’t let anything happen to us.”
I hesitated, the hurt mingling with understanding. “You promise?”
“Absolutely. Trust me, okay?” Karina pleaded, her eyes pleading for forgiveness.
I sighed, torn between emotions but wanting to believe her. “Fine.”
She pulled me into a tight hug. “Thank you, Y/n. I promise, I’ll fix this, I’ll win the race for you.”
“I don't want to discuss it further. Let’s just focus on the race. I’ll be there with Aeri cheering you on,” I said, my hurt evident as I gave Karina a peck on the lips before walking over to Aeri, who had our drinks.
“What happened between you and Karina?” she asked, noticing Karina's sad expression.
“She and Winter made a bet about our relationship,” I explained.
“What kind of bet?” she inquired, eyebrows furrowed.
“If Winter wins, Karina and I have to split so I end up with Winter,” I revealed.
“What? Why would she agree to that?” Aeri exclaimed.
“I have no idea, but she’s asking me to trust her,” I replied.
“Okay, then let's try to trust her.”
The race commenced as Aeri and I fixated on the screen, watching Winter and Karina revving their engines atop their bikes. A girl emerged, brandishing a red flag. As she dropped it, signaling the start, the engines roared to life, and the race began.
Initially, it was a tight competition, neck and neck, but Winter skillfully claimed the lead. Her bike navigated every twist and turn effortlessly, gaining ground with ease. Karina trailed closely behind, mirroring Winter's prowess as they maneuvered through the course.
As the race unfolded, it became evident that Winter's racing skills were formidable, just as Aeri and Karina had indicated. The tension mounted within me as I fervently rooted for Karina to win. My feelings for her grew more pronounced with every twist and turn. I didn't want to end up with Winter; it was Karina I truly cared about.
Karina surged ahead at one point, fueling a flicker of hope, but it was short-lived as Winter swiftly overtook her. They were now neck and neck, closing in on the finish line. Karina managed to match Winter's pace, riding side by side. Both racers shared a momentary gaze, a blend of determination and grit in their eyes, each vying for victory.
My heart raced with anxiety as they neared the finish line. Winter had a slight edge, but Karina's resolve was unmistakable. The atmosphere was electric as they crossed the finish line simultaneously, leaving us all in suspense, waiting for the official outcome.
"Did Winter just win?" I asked myself in disbelief, falling to my knees, hurt by the outcome.
"Wait, wait!" The announcer's voice boomed. "Let's have a replay!"
As we watched the replay, it was clear: Karina's wheel crossed the finish line first. "Karina won!" I shouted in jubilation, Aeri joining in.
The crowd erupted into cheers. Karina removed her helmet, smiling. Winter approached her, extending her hand. "Good race, Jimin," she said.
Karina shook her hand, replying, "Good race, Minjeong."
Overwhelmed with emotion, I ran towards Karina, enveloping her in a tight hug. "You won," I said, still in disbelief.
"I told you to trust me," she said softly.
"I'll always trust you," I replied, pulling her into a passionate kiss.
The kiss was interrupted by Aeri's arrival. "AYYY, Karina!! YOU WON!!" she screamed, rushing to hug her. But then, Aeri punched Karina's arm hard.
"Ouch! What was that for?!" Karina exclaimed.
"That was for accepting the bet," Aeri retorted.
Karina sighed. "At least I won, and it's over now."
"Yeah, it's in the past. Let's focus on the present and work towards the future," I chimed in.
Karina went to collect her winnings, and we all headed back to Imperial to celebrate her victory. Imperial was alive with music, and we lost ourselves in the beats, dancing and reveling in the energy of the night. Karina and I moved together on the dance floor, the heat of the room adding to the charged atmosphere. The way she looked at me sent shivers down my spine, her desire unmistakable.
As our bodies moved in sync, the electricity between us intensified. Karina leaned in close, her voice a seductive murmur in my ear. “You look amazing tonight,” she whispered, her hand tracing a tantalizing path across my skin.
Unable to resist any longer, I pulled Karina closer to me, breathlessly murmuring in her ear, “Let's get out of here.” I could see the immediate spark of desire in her eyes as she eagerly took my hand, leading me out of the club. Outside, she hailed a cab, and within 10 minutes, we arrived at her house.
Pressing against her door, our passion intensified. Karina momentarily paused our embrace to unlock the door, and as soon as it swung open, she pushed me inside before closing it firmly behind us. We resumed our fervent kissing as we made our way upstairs to her room.
Karina shoved me onto the bed and removed her bra and shirt. She returned to kissing me, making tracks with her lips as she kissed down my neck. She broke the kiss and gripped the bottom of my dress, asking for permission to take it off. And I let her. I reached back to unhook my bra when she removed my dress. Allowing it to descend before me. After everything was off, she teased my nipples and kissed every part of my body, leaving as many traces as she could.
With my panties still in the way, she began to kiss her way down my body, reaching closer to my heart.
"Please," I whimpered.
Karina pulled down my panties and planted a kiss on top of them. began removing her boxers and pants. "Anything for you baby.” She muttered.
She gently brushed her cock's head on my pussy. “Fuck baby you’re so wet. Who makes you this wet” Karina Moaned.
"You!" I groaned, "Please, Karina, do something.
She began to break my pussy apart with her cock as she pushed it through my hole. She groaned, "Fuck you're so tight," and began to thrust in me. I felt amazing the way Karina was touching all the right places inside me. "Harder," I moaned.
Karina pounding me harder. We both moaned loudly. I was getting close. “Fuck Karina I’m close” I gasp out.
She groaned, continuing to thrust, "Me too."
I groaned, "Fuck Karina, you feel so good," as tears streamed down my cheeks from the pleasure she was giving me.
"Baby, where do you want it? Karina groaned, "Where do you want my cum?"
I moaned out, "Please cum inside."
Karina pushed herself closer to me. She reached down to my clit and gave it a few rapid circular rubs, and that was it for me.
I cried, "Fuck Karina, I'm cumming."
“Cum for me baby” She husked.
I squeezed Karina’s cock while I came hard. Sending her over the edge, she shoot ropes of cum into my pussy painting my walls white. I groaned at the warmth. Karina stood steady inside me for a second before releasing her grip and pulling out. She takes a deep breath and settles down next me, drawing me very close to her chest.
“Sleep now, beautiful. I’ll see you in the morning,” Karina whispered, planting a gentle kiss on my forehead.
•·················•·················•
“Hey, whatcha thinkin' about?” Karina asked, gazing at me with affection. We had just arrived at our spot. I hugged her tight. “Just thinking about when we first met, that's all,” I replied.
She leaned in for a peck. “Thanks to Aeri, I met the love of my life,” Karina said, smiling.
“Agreed,” I chuckled, drawing her into a kiss.
“I love you, Y/n,” she murmured against my lips.
“I love you too, Jimin.”

Jealousy // Ona Batlle
Tumblr media
Ona never had any problems with her jealousy, she hardly felt jealous but that was before she met you, before she fell in love with you. Before you became her girl.
Ever since the spaniard asked you out her jealousy got worse. Not in the kind of way where it would cause arguments but she became more and more aware of how many people thought you were amazing. However, she never had to worry because in Manchester, England in general, the people weren‘t as touchy as in her home country.
In her home country she had to deal with all the touchiness since Barcelona signed Ona and you, breaking the internet.
'Power couple at Barcelona'
'It-Couple playing at top club'
Both of you were happy. Ona was happy to be back home and you were just happy to play for Barça. You settled well, making friends easily, knowing many already. Ona sticked with her people, Aitana and co while you spent most of your time with Frido and CGH, players not from Spain. You got along with everyone though and in no time they became your new family.
-
The team and a few other people were at Patri’s as they celebrated her birthday.
"You‘re not gonna wear this" Ona stated as she checked you out shamelessly, you looked absolutely breathtaking.
"Why not? Do you not like it?" you asked, completely oblivious to the fact that Ona wanted to rip your clothes off. She walked up behind you, placing her hands on your hips as she whispered in your ear "you look so hot." A shiver running down your spine while she attached her lips to your neck. "No," you said as you stepped away from her "we‘re going to Patri‘s." The spaniard whined, pulling you back in, "por favor, amor. I won‘t be able to keep my eyes off of you." You pressed a quick kiss to her lips before you left the bedroom, the defender trailing behind you, her eyes fixed on your bum.
The charmer she is, she opened the car door for you, admiring you. You always looked beautiful but this outfit did things to her. "Thank you, baby" you said, her cheeks flushing red, still getting all shy when you called her that. With a few quick steps, she walked around the car, taking a seat. Instantly, her hand found yours, resting in your lap as she drove to Patri.
"Hola" Patri yelled, opening the door. You gave her a bear hug while wishing her a happy birthday.
Patris home was full of people, the only ones you knew your team mates. "Finally decided to show up, huh?" Mapi grinned as she handed you and your girlfriend a drink. "Well, this one took ages to get ready" Ona replied laughing whilst you glared at her. "definitely worth it. You look hot"
"María?" Ingrid smacked her head as she heard her girlfriends words, Onas arm protectively going around your waist. "Well fair enough" the norse admitted as she looked at you. "See! No need to smack me" Mapi grumbled, rubbing her head. Ingrid and you looked at each other before laughing, Ona pressing her lips against your temple.
The night was spent with dancing, drinking, talking and laughing.
The non-Barça players turned out to be really nice (at least the ones you have spoken with) but Ona made sure they knew you belonged to her, some of them looking at you too long for her liking. "They seem nice" you said to your girlfriend as you had a moment alone "yeah" her gaze wandered around, stopping at one spesific person "but not him. He almost drooled at the sight of you!" you giggled slightly at the glare she gave him, "no mi amor, it‘s not funny. I‘m the only one allowed to drool" peppering kisses all over your face, the defender made a statement. You‘re hers and hers only. "Go mingle with Aitana, baby. Do want another drink, too?"
"I‘d love to," she replied, "suprise me" answering your unspoken question which drink she wanted to have.
You entered Patris kitchen, a familiar place for you, with so many team activities you had at her place. She loved to host movie nights in her home.
Though you weren‘t the only one in the kitchen, a girl standing at the counter pouring herself a drink. She wasn’t one of your team mates nor one of the people you had talked to. "Hi," you greeted, trying to be friendly. She turned around, "Oh hello…beautiful lady" her eyes wandered all over your body, lip biting as she took a step forward. "What‘s your name?" Forcing a smile, you answered, you didn't want to be rude yet the situation made you uncomfortable. "Pretty name for a pretty girl"
"Thanks?" you took a step back, wanting to put some distance between you but apparently she didn't get the hint because she took a few steps towards you again. "I‘m about to head home, care to join me?" the girl smirked.
"No"
"Why not?"
"Because-"
"Because she‘s taken!" Ona stepped in the room, a sigh of relief leaving your mouth. The spaniard was clenching her jaw, her arms looping around your waist. "You‘re not going home with my woman." The stranger watched as Ona pressed her lips to your neck, sucking on your sweet spot, making her point clear. Your head fell on her shoulder, smiling at the ceiling. The defender glared at the girl, still continuing to kiss along your neck. Soon enough Patri’s friend marched out the kitchen. "Mierda! What the fuck is wrong with her?" your girlfriend grumbled angrily, "I‘m the only one who takes to you home!" Ona was beyond angry. How dare anyone ask you to take you home?! She was walking up an down the kitchen, thinking about what she‘ll do if that girl ever dared to look at you again. "You know what? I‘m gonna beat her up"
"Hey, hey, wait" your arms wrapped around her middle, stopping her from storming out of the kitchen. Her eyes softened as they looked in yours, slowly calming down. When you were sure you could let go of her waist, your gently hooked your fingers under her chin, "you‘re so hot when you‘re jealous." The way she looked at you made you fall in love with her all over again, "you think so?" she asked, giggling, back in a good mood (thanks to you just being you) as she brushed her nose against yours, smiling lovingly.
"Yeah"
She chased after your lips, feeling the need to have them pressed on her own. Her hands trailed along your curves before they found a stop on your bum, she squeezed it, making you gasp in to her mouth as she took the opportunity to slip her tongue in your mouth.
"Oi! You can make out later! Let‘s get drunk" the birthday girl yelled, pulling you in to the main area.
-
The next time Ona was jealous was when a waitress started flirting with you.
"Amor?" The spaniard shouted as she walked in your shared apartment "where are you?"
"Upstairs"
"Can you come down for a moment?"
You made your way downstairs, wearing Onas hoodie and ManUtd shorts. "Hi baby" you greeted, walking over to her "hola, mi amor," she pressed a kiss to your lips "I got you these" she showed you the boquet of your favorite flowers which were hidden behind her back.
"Thank you!" you accepted them as she handed them to you, inhaling their smell. The spaniard smiled fondly at you, loving how happy you were. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! They‘re beautiful. I have to put them in a vase!" Speed walking, you searched for a vase. Ona wasn‘t finished spoiling you though, "Mi amor, put your shoes on. I‘m taking you out." You stopped in your tracks to look at her, smiling widely "What did I do to deserve this?" you asked confused but not much suprised. The defender always treated you like a royalty and was smitten for you. "I‘m just so in love with you" she replied, lovestruck smile on her face as her eyes looked at you with heart eyes.
"Let me change first then. I can‘t go looking like this"
Ona furrowed her brows, why would you want to change? She liked seeing you in her clothes.
"Why? I love when you wear my hoodies"
"I‘m wearing United shorts?"
"Point taken"
You rushed in your bedroom, changing in some different shorts before you put on your shoes, ready to go.
The drive to the restaurant was spent with singing Adele songs. You connected your phone to the car and then the first Adele song started playing. Ona loved the passion you had whenever Adele was playing, it didn‘t matter If it was in the car, the changing room or elsewhere, you would sing your heart out.
Entering the restaurant you looked around. It was cozy, you‘ve never been here before. Ona spotted it one day as she was nearby, she was sure you‘d like it. "This place is so cute!" you said, your voice full of excitement. "Not as cute as you" the defender replied, enjoying your happiness. The two of you sat down at a table near a corner, wanting to have some privacy. The place wasn‘t big but there were a few people. "Hi, here are the menus." the waitress handed each of you a menu, her hand brushing over your arm while doing so. You didn't realize her action but your girlfriend did. "Do you already know what you want to drink or should I come again?"
"Come back again" Ona replied with a strict face as the waiter checked you out. "Sure" she didn‘t spare her a glance but looked at you, winking, walking away. "shall we have a glass of wine, baby?" you smiled at her "anything you want, amor"
As you looked through the menu what you wanted to eat, you decided to try someting new.
When the waitress came back a few minutes later Onas posture stiffened, "Hey, again, what does your heart desire?" she asked, her eyes not leaving your figure. "A glass of red wine and this please" you didn‘t know how to pronounce the dish so you pointed with your finger at the name of it on the menu. She leaned in, her body quite close to yours to look at it. The spaniards jaw was clenching as she stared daggers in to her head "I want Gambas al Ajillo, please" your girls tone wasn‘t happy nor friendly yet she said please to not come out rude. The waitress gave Ona a judgy look before turning back to you "Do you want anything else, cutie pie?" you looked at Ona helpless as the pet name was refered to you. "N-no"
you didn‘t look at the server again, feeling uncomfortable that she was flirting with you. You were cleary having a date with your girlfriend. However, the waitress thought your stuttering was from her flirting and she had a chance with you. She walked to the bar which was connected to the kitchen, swaying her hips more than necessary. "We‘re literally having a date and she dares to flirt with you?" The spaniard grumbled, hating the idea that someone would steal you from her. You could see that she wasn‘t enjoying herself and you would bet that wouldn‘t change if you stay here. "Let‘s go somewhere else" you suggested. "What? No? We just ordered our food"
"Baby, i can see the wrinkle between your brows and your clenching jaw, let‘s go. I‘m sure we‘ll find something else"
"Are you sure?" she asked, shyly. Her persona took a 180 degree turn as she was caught in her jealousy.
"Yes, let me just tell them and we can go"
You grabbed your purse, walking over to the waitress again, Ona observing the situation. As the girl saw you coming towards her, she straightened her outfit and ran her fingers through her hair "lo siento, my girlfriend isn‘t feeling well. We‘ll go." You didn‘t wait for a reaction, you just turned around, walking back to your lover who was glaring at your server. You pressed a kiss to her cheek, slinging your arm around her waist. In return the spaniard laid her arm around your shoulders, pressing a possesive kiss to your head before exiting the restaurant.
It was clear to say you wouldn‘t come back here again.
-
Ona couldn’t stop looking at you, you looked so stunning.
The team just won the league and decided to celebrate in a club. Music was playing, everyone was enjoying themselves.
Her hands were wrapped around your hips as you danced with her or more like in to her. Your bum was grinding in her front, driving her crazy. Her knees were trembling, her heart race at a none-healthy one. "Corazón" she groaned in your ear. Oh the things she wanted to do to you. Her breath hitched as you slid your hand behind her head so her chin would settle on your shoulder. Dazed, you smiled as you felt Ona tilting her head, her lips attached to your neck.
"Woah, you‘ve got some sexy moves" a drunk stranger slurred as his arms went to grab you. Before you even could register what happened Ona was already in front of you, one hand pushing you behind her as the other was on the strangers chest, keeping him away. "Lesbians ahhh, sorry, just want to fuck your girl straight" he grinned, the smell of alcohol coming out of his mouth. Your girlfriend wanted to throw up right then and there, a) because he dared to touch what‘s hers, b) because of his smell and c) because he thought he‘s it. She was furios, fuck you straight? Hell no. Who does he think he is? She didn‘t know what came over her but with one quick motion her fist collided with his face. It got the attention from your team mates, Mapi and Bronze running over to you. "You okay?" the english woman asked as the spaniard stood in front of your girlfriend. He was so drunk that he couldn‘t even raise his own fist as Mapi shoved him away. Lucy by her side as the stranger tried to turn around.
Your girl grabbed your wrist, pulling you out of the club. "Mierda!"
You took her hand in yours, pressing a kiss to the back of it "why do you have to be so beautiful?" she whispered, leaning her body against yours as she walked you to the nearest wall. "You looked so hot punching that weirdo" you whispered as you rested your forehead against hers. "Yeah?" she smiled, licking her lips. Your eyes darted around her face before landing on one of your favorite parts of her face "you‘re always hot when you‘re jealous"
"I‘m not jealous"
You rolled your eyes jokingly, "So you wouldn‘t mind If I go back inside and dance with someone who offers me a drink?"
"Don’t" her arms around you tighten, her tone stern.
Grinning, you asked, "Why not?"
"Jealous doesn’t even describe the things I feel sometimes," she answered, lowering her head to your neck "you‘re mine" she said as pressed some kisses along your neck, ever so gently.
-
Ona was glaring at you or rather the girl next to you. A newbie.
New people always wanted to be around you but who could blame them? You welcomed them with open arms and helped them settle in, yourself knowing how it was to be the new one. The spaniard loved you for that, she loved how you shared your kindness yet what she didn’t like was that the girl was touching you, her hands wandering across your bizeps.
"Jealous much?" Aitana asked her friend, chuckling at the growl written across her face. "She isn‘t wearing her ring" the defender grumbled, annoyed that you had to take her ring off due to playing football. "Don‘t you think the hickies you left all over her neck isn’t a sign?" Ona smiled bright at the thought how she made them. That girl was head over heels for you, clearly smitten. "you really love her, don‘t you?" Aitana asked, she had never seen her best friend like this. Every time you would step in to the room the defenders eyes would light up, Ona was happy, something she deserved to be.
"Sí, ella será mi esposa algún día"
While the two spaniards talked to each other, you were interacting with the newbie. You talked about her former club until you felt arms snuggle around your waist, you knew it was. Of course you knew, you could tell by the gentle touch, the perfume and the lips that pressed against your temple. "Hey, I‘m Ona," the spaniard introduced herself.
"H-hi" the girl whispered in disbelief. She had told you earlier that she admired the defender, the way she played and it was an honor to play in the same team as her. "her girlfriend" Ona ended her statement.
The newbie got big eyes, cheeks blushing as she muttered an apology before walking away. "Was that necessary, baby?" you asked as you turned around in her grasp. "You’re not wearing your ring I had to make sure she knows you‘re off the market"
You giggled, pecking her cheek "everybody knows i‘m yours, your insta is basically a fan page for me and your marks-"
"are a friendly reminder that you have a loving, caring-"
"possesive"
She shushed you with her index finger on your mouth, "and proud girlfriend at home" a laugh escaped your throat, the spaniard grinning, your laughter was her favorite sound in the world.
"I love you, my jealous girl" you purred against her lips, her fingers pinching your side "loving, caring and proud girl" she corrected you while she playfully glared at you, her forehead resting against your own. "Say it" her demand fell to deaf ears as you shook your head, looking away. "My girl, say it" she turned your head so she could look at you (her favorite view) before pushing her lips onto yours, pecking them repeatedly, "Say," peck, "it" peck.
"I love you.." expectantly, she looked at you, waiting to hear the words, "my loving, caring and proud girl" satisfied with your wording she gave you a proper kiss. "I love you, too"
You slipped out of her hold and started running, "still a jealous girl!" you shouted.
The spaniard chased after you but there was no denying, she was your jealous girl.

And I fell, I fell

Your phone ringing startles you out of your daze, making you jump slightly in your chair. Reaching for it, you don't bother to look at the caller id.
"Oh you're alive, that's nice" Robin's voice cheerfully says, you blink rapidly at your computer screen.
"Why wouldn't I be alive, Robs?"
"I dunno! Maybe because you've been MIA for the past five days!"
You can hear the frustration and concern in her voice and you immediately feel guilty. You sigh softly and rub at your eyes.
"I'm sorry, Robbie" You murmur, "Work's been a lot."
"I worry about you" She confesses, "Like, have you even been eating? Sleeping? What's so important you've got to check out for nearly a week?"
You scrunch your face up because, she's right - you've been doing the bare minimum but you weren't going to admit that.
"I'm fine, really. Just been editing a few of the interviews I did last week and then this morning I had someone bail out at the last minute so I'm trying to find a replacement to do the interview at the end of the week."
Robin hums.
"I'm coming over"
She hangs up before you have a chance to respond and you shake your head. Standing, you groan as you stretch your arms over your head before you decide to just call it a day and have a shower.
The warm water feels heavenly on your stiff body, and you let yourself relax under the spray. You're just stepping out of the shower, steam filling the room and wrapping a towel around you, when there's persistent knocking at the door.
You debate for all of three seconds on whether to answer or get dressed, ultimately deciding to let Robin in first, knowing that she'd just knock harder and louder until you did.
She pushes her way in as soon as the doors cracked open an inch, she closes the door behind her and starts pushing at your shoulders.
"Get dressed, Jesus"
You roll your eyes and throw your hands up, muttering about bossy, annoying friends. You shuffle to your room though, pulling on soft jeans and a shirt and make your way back to Robin who's curled up on the couch and cradling a can of soda in her hands.
"Alright, sit" Robin says, patting the space beside her and you throw yourself heavily down next to her, resting your cheek against her shoulder.
"You okay?" She asks, pressing her cheek against the top of your head and you nod softly because yeah, you were fine, just busy and tired and overworked. She holds the can to you and you take it, sipping at the bubbly drink. An arm wraps around your shoulder and you feel yourself go boneless against her, relaxing for the first time in days.
"Work sucks at the moment" You admit, leaning on your friend, "I've got so much to do and now I'm gonna loose the venue for Friday because the person I was interviewing cancelled on me and like, I can't afford that you know? It's expensive and I just, I don't know what I'm gonna do Robbie"
"Anything I can help with?" She asks softly, "I can't really do much for editing videos and whatever but, yeah."
You feel a small smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
"You don't happen to want to be interviewed?" You tease, "Could start a new series where I interview my friends instead of like, famous people"
You're joking, knowing that Robin would kinda hate being in front of a camera while you ask her questions about herself but you could see it working - making it a silly little thing where you just have fun with it, rather than the serious interviews you've been stuck doing.
"God no" She laughs for a moment before pausing, "But, I could ask Eddie?"
"Hmm? What's Eddie got to do with this?"
"Eddie Munson, y'know Corroded Coffin?"
You scrunch your nose slightly, pulling back to look at her.
"You mean to tell me that your high school band friend Eddie is the same Eddie from that massively popular metal band? And don't they refuse to do interviews, like, all the time?"
"Yes and yes, it's something about wanting to focus on the music rather than them but he'd do it if I ask nicely."
You chew on your lip, considering it. It would be a massive help, having someone to actually interview and that someone being notorious for refusing to actually participate in interviews but at the same time, you don't want to put Robin out or Eddie.
"Look, I'll ask, the worst thing is he'll say no and if that's the case, I'll do the interview." She says and you feel a weight lifting off your chest, you lean back in to wrap yourself around her.
"Thanks, Robin" Your voice is muffled by her shoulder but she squeezes you back.
The two of you spent the rest of the afternoon watching shitty videos and snacking, and you feel more relaxed than you have in weeks. You murmur your thanks as you hug Robin goodbye and laugh softly at her stern warning of no more work today, her finger pointing at your face. You agree, considering ordering take out and having an early night.
You're wrapped up in a soft blanket on the couch, lights low and a movie you're not really watching when your phone buzzes.
Robin: Eddie's agreed to do the interview. send deets.
to Robin: You're an angel amongst men, Robin and I love you.
Robin: ur right, I am. love u 2.
You send her the address and times and thank her about five more times before you put your phone back down, and focus back on the movie and you're not too sure when your eyes slip closed and you're asleep.
The next couple of days fly by in a daze of editing and deciding the direction of the upcoming interview. You didn't want it to be stuffy, overly serious and god forbid, boring, so you pester Robin for little tidbits of information about Eddie and you find yourself racing around your apartment the morning of to get ready.
You've never really seen photos of Eddie from Band but you have seen photos and videos of Eddie from Corroded Coffin and you knew he's hot and while you didn't want to come across as unprofessional, you wanted to look good so you spend extra time styling your hair and making sure your outfit fit just right.
Loading your car up with your equipment and set-up took longer than you'd like and by the time you're pulling up to the building, you've only got thirty minutes before Eddie was due to arrive. You rush through set up and you wish you had an assistant for days like today.
A soft knock against the wall and your name being called startles you. You let out a quiet noise of surprise and whip around to see Eddie, smiling wide at your reaction, and your heart stutters. You knew he was handsome, you knew that, but the photos and videos didn't do him justice.
Tall and wrapped in black denim, cotton, silver chains and rings. His hair was curled to perfection, soft and silky, wide brown eyes and plump limps and you realize you're staring and not saying anything.
"Eddie, right?" You gesture to one of the chairs you'd set up, "Thank you so much for doing this, you and Robin have saved me a lot of grief"
He saunters over to you, smiling warmly before sitting in the chair. You almost get lost in watching him again but you force your eyes away, not wanting to be a creep.
"Ah, it's alright. Had nothing better to do today, to be honest."
And god his voice, you wanted to hear it all day. Wanted him to whisper nothings into your ear and you feel yourself flushing at the desire running through your veins.
You turn, scolding yourself for your reaction and get to work turning on the lights, camera and audio recorders.
"Still, I appreciate it. Will you be okay putting your mic on or would you like help?" You ask as you open the case, pulling out both sets of microphones.
"Hmm, might need some help"
You look over your shoulder and he's watching you intently, and you're really not sure how you're going to do this interview without coming across as desperate.
"Sure, here-" You step closer to him, holding out the microphone and wire, "This bit goes up under your shirt and clips onto your collar"
His fingers brush yours as he gently takes it from you, lifting his shirt slightly to feed the wire under it. You hold your breath and avert your eyes when you see a flash of pale skin before you do something stupid like telling him you'd like to lick him all over.
"Like this?" He asks, and you force yourself to bring your eyes down, nodding as he clips the little microphone to his shirt and smooths his hands down his chest.
"Yeah, um- I'll just clip this to your belt, if that's okay?"
He looks up at you from under his lashes and nods, smiling like he knows exactly what he's doing to you. You turn it on and see his jaw clenching in the corner of your eye as your fingers brush at his skin as you work.
"Alright. All set, I'll just finish getting ready - I'll just be a minute" You say in a rush, turning back to the table and putting your own mic on.
"No rush, honey"
And oh god, the pet name has your blood singing. Your hands shake slightly as you take a couple of deep breaths and scold yourself with a stern behave yourself, you're here for work not to hook up, he's doing you a favor so cut it out.
You shake your head slightly and move to turn on the camera. It's almost easier, looking at Eddie through the camera screen as you focus it and you suppress a shudder when you realize he's watching you closely.
You suck in a deep breath and pick up your notes, moving to sit beside him.
"Alright, you good to start?"
His smile returns and nods, shifting in his seat in order to face you. You do your intro, facing the camera and watching Eddie from your peripheral and then your turning, facing him and wanting to whine at how pretty he is. You let your work wash over you, focusing on the interview.
"Thanks for being here today, Mr. Munson. Tell me, how are you? What's been happening?"
"Eddie's fine" He says, laughing softly, "Mr. Munson is my uncle. I'm good, I'm good. Honestly? I should be working on some new songs but I'd rather not."
You nod, humming.
"Look that's fair - You used to play D&D, why?"
He looks a little surprised at your question, like he wasn't expecting anything else besides his music.
"Oh yeah I did. It was just fun, y'know? Like my friends and I got to go on epic adventures."
You try your hardest not to let the grin overtake your face but it's so, so hard.
"That's kinda nerdy but like what do I know? I make silly videos for a living. Do you still play or has that ship sailed?"
"Ah, I'd like to but I don't get as much free time these days and all my friends I play with are all over the place."
"Bummer. What's the best way to eat marshmallows?"
You keep the energy going, slinging more and more absurd questions at him without letting him gather his bearings but Eddie's grinning, enjoying the quick fire questions and your snide comments at his answers.
"Now. This is a serious question and I will judge you for your answer if it's incorrect."
He shifts, face serious and leans slightly towards you.
"Would you rather be eaten alive by a werewolf or have a vampire stick a straw in your neck and drain you like a capri-sun?"
Eddie breaks out into giggles and you feel your insides wobble and you school your features, biting your tongue and raise an eyebrow.
"Definitely being eaten alive" He wheezes between his laughter, "I might as well go all out if I'm gonna die."
You purse your slips, looking down at your notes primly.
"Correct."
Eddie laughs harder, eyes shining when you look back at him.
"Alright, last question - what's the plan for the rest of the day?"
He rubs the back of his neck, he looks at you and you think maybe there's something in his face, in his eyes as he glances at you.
"No real plans, might grab something to eat."
"Right on, free as a bird."
You close the video and slide out of your chair, turning off the camera and beginning the pack up. Your eyes flicker to Eddie and you smile softly, moving to him to help remove his mic.
"Thanks again for this, Eddie. I know you don't really do interviews much so I didn't want to make it awful for you"
His fingers find the soft skin of your wrist when he hands you the mic set, pressing against your skin.
"I had a lot of fun" His voice is low and rumbles and you feel your chest erupts with butterflies.
You shuffle back, throwing a smile over your shoulder and continue to pack away your equipment.
"Want a hand?" Eddie's says, right behind you and you can feel his warmth seeping into your back. You bite your lip.
"Nah, it's all good! It's not that much" You try to keep the tremble out of your voice, "I'll um, let you know when the video's up? It should be maybe a week or so."
You hear him inhale and then hum softly.
"Perfect."
You step around the table, putting a bit of distance between the two of you before you do something really really dumb and proposition him. Eddie shoots you a small smile, fiddling with his rings and you think he might be nervous.
"I'll, um, see you around then?" He asks, taking small steps backwards towards the door.
"Yeah, it was nice to meet you" You try to smile warmly as you say your goodbyes while all you'd like is to beg him to stay longer.
"You too, honey. I've heard a lot about you."
And then he's gone and you throw yourself down on one of the chairs, face in hands and you let out a whine.
"God damn it, Robin" You mutter before huffing and dragging yourself to load your car.
You're tired and sore when you finish unloading the car back at your apartment and you grunt as you throw yourself onto the couch, propping your feet on your coffee table.
Your phone buzzes.
Unknown Number: Hey honey, it's Eddie. I hope it's okay but I got your number from Robin.
Unknown Number: I just. I really had a good time today. I usually hate doing interviews but you made it a lot of fun.
You save his number and quickly respond, heart in your throat and fluttering in your stomach, hating how much you wanted his attention.
to Eddie: Eddie, hey! Yeah that's fine. I'm glad you had a nice time :)
Eddie: Very much so. Did you get everything packed and get home alright?
You start chewing on your lower lip as he responds almost instantly, not wanting to seem overly eager, you send a text to Robin instead.
to Robin: ROBIN what the FUCK????
Robin: ur welcome :)) he thinks ur hot btw and like ur both my friends so dont fuck it up.
to Robin: thanks!!!!! no pressure at all with that!!!!!!!!
Robin: :)
You start chewing on your thumbnail and open Eddie's messages again, responding with an affirmative and asking how his afternoon went before tossing your phone to the other side of the couch, kicking your feet.
You feel like a teenager, heart pounding and cheeks hot and chest feeling three sizes too big. You wander around your living room, shaking your hands and deciding to just go about your evening routine - making dinner and showering and watching a movie.
Your eyes drift to your phone every few minutes and you groan, giving in and picking it up.
Eddie: I ended up going straight home, been watching some of your interviews ;)
Eddie: What are you up to? Busy night?
to Eddie: Oh god, don't do that. They're all very boring.
Eddie: Ah but I get to watch a pretty lady tearing apart a bunch of dummies who don't realize they're being insulted.
Your face heats again and you place your face in your hands and let out a very embarrassing noise. You lift you head, staring at your phone and take a rough, deep breath. Eddie was going to kill you, you were sure of it.
You feel like a silly teen with a crush as you text with Eddie for the rest of the evening, his flirting making you want to screech out loud or melt or something.
You fall asleep with a smile on your face and butterflies in your stomach.
You're a little scared to check your phone the next morning, a whole bunch of what if's running through your mind, but a soft ding brings you out of your mind and you couldn't stop the lovesick smile if you tried.
Eddie: good morning, hope you have a good day
to Eddie: you too :)
You spend the rest of the day trying to focus on work, on finishing the editing of your previous interviews and starting on Eddies, but it's hard going when all you want to do is text the man. Taking a quick break, you lean over the bathroom sink and stare at yourself in the mirror. You frown at your reflection.
"Get your shit together" You snap at yourself, "You're not a teenager with a crush, you are a grown woman so act like it."
You sigh and pull yourself away, sitting back down at your desk.
"Alright. We've just got to finish these two interviews, we can totally do this. Totally, they're like ninety percent done already."
You nod at your pep talk and get back to work, newly found focus coasting you through the last few hours of editing for the day.
It's starting to grow dark by the time you save your work and shut down for the day. You feel lazily satisfied from finishing the task you set for yourself for the afternoon and more than ready to publish the videos and transcripts onto your social media sites. Stretching your arms above your head, you let out a soft groan as your back pops.
Picking up your phone, you bite your lip at the messages Eddie had sent you throughout the day.
Eddie: dont work too hard today but kick ass at work today
Eddie: im attempting to write new songs but i dont wanna y'know?
Eddie: i went to get groceries instead. saw a cat :)
Eddie: dont forget to eat lunch
Eddie: ok ok im gonna try to work wish me luck lol
Your stomach growls at you and you realize you did forget to eat lunch again, you groan and start dinner. Sitting on the couch with your plate, you send a message to Eddie.
to Eddie: Sorry, been pretty busy today but i managed to finish up a couple projects and im ready to start working on your interview tomorrow. Did you end up getting any writing done?
to Eddie: And what type of cat was it?
It doesn't take long before your phone is buzzing beside you.
Eddie: she lives! im glad you had a productive day, one of us needs 2 lol and u dont need to edit our interview its already perfect. I wrote like 4 lines of a song.
Eddie: i took a photo of the cat, i'll send it 2 u.
You laugh softly at his messages, his writing getting lazier the more you two talk, not that you mind. The photo comes through and you coo, the cat was incredibly fluffy and stretched out over a brick fence, fast asleep.
Your eyes burn as you look at your phone, a result from staring at a computer screen all day, so you take a deep breath and press call.
"Hey honey!" Eddie's voice filters softly through your phone, "Didn't expect a call to be honest, it was the cat right?"
You laugh and let your eyes slip closed, laying down on the couch and placing the call on speaker phone.
"Absolutely," You hum, "It has nothing to do with my eyes hurting-"
"Aw, you okay? Need anything?"
You can hear the concern in his voice and something inside you swells.
"Nah, I'm good. It's just from being on the computer all day, y'know?" You rub your eyes, "Anyway, what are you up to?"
There's a slight pause before he answers but then he's telling you that he's trying to decide on dinner, weighing up pros and cons of cooking verses ordering in and then he's launching into a tangent on life skills and capitalism.
You let his voice wash over you and you find yourself relaxing until you're almost asleep, drifting in the in-between.
"Still with me baby?" Eddie asks softly, his words not really registering but you hum at the sound of his voice, making him chuckle quietly.
"Go to bed, honey." He croons at you, "We'll talk tomorrow, alright? Dream sweet."
You sleep on the couch that night, dreaming of soft curls and warm brown eyes.
The next week passes in a blur of work, texts, calls and longing. You want to see him again, want to have his deep honey eyes on you, want to hear his voice without the filter of a phone.
You whine about it to Robin a lot, much to her amusement and annoyance.
"Just tell him you like him" She says one night as you recount the latest texting session you and Eddie had the previous day.
"Dude! No! I can't just tell him that" You feel your heart starting to race at the idea, Robin snorts.
"Why not?"
"Because!"
"That's not an answer" She fires back and you groan.
"Because, what if he only wants to be my friend? What if he's like this with everyone? I don't want to make a fool of myself and just because he talks to me doesn't mean he likes me, and there's also the fact that he's like, famous!"
Your words come out in a panicked rush and you breathe heavily while Robin contemplates.
"Y'know, I've been his friend for a while. I don't think I've ever seen him like this about someone, he really does like you. A lot. It's kinda gross."
Her voice is soft and kind and you feel your cheeks heat at her words.
"I don't know what you did to him at the interview but he's like, super gone for you. Pretty sure he's panicking about the same things you are, hun. Trust me when I say that Eddie's not the type of person who'd string you around like that."
"Alright, okay" You sigh, feeling better with her reassurance.
You sit on her advice for a few days, weighing up your decision, when ultimately, Eddie makes it for you.
to Eddie: Eds, I'm posting the interview video and transcripts today. Want me to tag the band's @?
Eddie: Yes, please! You're incredible.
Eddie: Would you like to go out with me? Dinner tonight?
Your heart leaps into your throat and you can't stop the childish giggles as you respond with an enthusiastic yes, yes please I would like that very much.
You don't remember doing much work, too excited about that night to focus properly but you do manage to get the video and transcript online, making sure to tag the band's socials as well as Eddies.
to Eddie: Alright, it's up. What's the dress code for tonight?
Eddie: I just saw and casual, whatever you're comfy in :)
Eddie: What's your address? I'll pick you up at 6?
You give him your address and start getting ready, wanting to look good but not wanting to look like you're trying. A very hard line to walk but you were determined to do so.
A few minutes before six, the doorbell rings and your stomach fills with butterflies. Opening the door for Eddie, your heart stops inside your chest.
He's got his hair tied up in a bun at the back of his head, a few loose curls framing his face. Black jeans and combat boots with chains hanging from the belt, and a faded, well-worn Dio shirt.
His entire face lights up when he sees you, a beaming smile gracing his lips and you're almost ready to fall to your knees and begin proclaiming your everlasting love and devotion to him.
"You look beautiful" He says in lieu of a greeting, eyes roaming your body. You bite your lip softly and his eyes darken, tracing your movement.
"Thanks" You feel almost shy, "Should we go?"
He holds his arm out for you to take and you laugh softly, pulling your door shut behind you and slipping your hand into the crook of his elbow.
He leads you to his car, opening the door for you and closing it after you. Sliding into the drivers seat, his fingers drum against the wheel as he starts the car.
"Where are you takin' me tonight?" You ask softly, turning to look at him as he drives.
"We, my dear, are going to the park"
He glances at you as he says it, the tips of his ears going pink when he realizes you're already watching him.
"The park?" You ask, surprise colouring your voice, "Thought you were taking me out to dinner."
He laughs softy and you feel like you've just won a competition, a prize.
"We're havin' dinner at the park" He beams, "I was going to take you to a restaurant but Steve said not to do that and Robin said you'd like something more personal anyway."
You honestly feel as if you could float, you scrunch your nose at the feeling.
"You talk about me to your friends, huh?" You settle for teasing, enjoying the way Eddie's ears and cheeks bloom with a blush.
"Of course I do" He admits, "I really like you"
You feel your own face heat at his admission and you inhale sharply.
“I- um. I like you, too” You stumble over your words, face flaming and chest tight.
You steadfastly look out the windscreen and miss the look Eddie throws you, like you just handed him the moon. You bite your lip when you feel fingers brush against the side of your hand and shudder when you shift, letting your fingers spread and tangle with his, your palms pressed together.
“I’m glad” He murmurs, giving your hand a soft squeeze before he huffs a laugh, “Would’a made all this kinda awkward if you didn’t.”
You glance over at him and he’s already looking at you, warm smile on his face. He winks, focuses back on the road and lets go of your hand to turn. It doesn’t take much longer for the car to slow to a stop, a comfortable silence settling over you both.
Eddie’s a whirlwind as he rushes out of the car, tripping over his feet as he races to your door before you’ve even finished undoing your seat belt. Laughter bubbles up your throat and you’re chuckling by the time he’s pulling open the door, his cheeks blushing sweetly and eyes warm.
“You’re a dork” You laugh, taking his hand as he holds it out for you, he just smiles wider.
“Y’know, I have been told that” He murmurs as he pulls you closer to him, your breath hitches, “Now. Stand there and look pretty for me while I get our picnic ready.”
You bite your lip and lean against the hood of the car, watching him as he takes out a cooler, basket, blankets and pillows out of the car and rushing back and forth to a nearby tree. It’s tall and old and he sets up the picnic between gnarled roots. Once it’s laid out to his satisfaction he moves to stand in front of you, his fingers reach out and brush against your forearm.
“Good to go?” You ask, voice barely a whisper. He nods, eyes flicking over your face and he gently takes your hand in his, leading you to the blanket.
It’s kind of perfect, honestly. Too many pillows and blankets and Eddie’s brought so much food and there’s soft drinks (I didn’t know what kind you like and I didn’t want to bring booze because I’m driving and like I didn’t want you to think - Eddie breathe).
It’s a lot perfect.
You ask each other questions, you learn anything you can (his favourite colour is, surprisingly, lavender - “it was my mom’s, she used to have this knitted cardigan with little lavender flowers all over it.”)
You talk and talk and talk and the sun slips past the horizon and washes you both in soft golden oranges and reds. You shift closer to Eddie as the night air begins to cool your skin, Eddie notices your shiver because of course he does - he wraps one of the many blankets around your shoulders, presses his body against your side.
"Eddie?" You murmur, resting your cheek onto his shoulder, the soft fabric of his shirt rubs against your cheek.
"Yeah, honey?" He's just as quiet as you, nose brushing along your hairline. Something inside you shudders and trembles before settling into a soft glowing warmth.
"Thank you" Your face turns, forehead pressing against his cheek, "This has been easily the best date I've been on."
He cups your cheek and raises your face to his, your noses brush and he holds you against him.
"Baby, I'm the one who should be thanking you," His voice is rough and sincere, his eyes boring into yours, "For even giving me a chance. For letting me text you all day, every day. For making our interview so fun."
Baby, baby, baby, the word rattles around in your brain and you think you could cry. You're not sure how you've ended up here but you are and you are so, so grateful.
"Remind me to thank Robin for suggesting I interview you." Your words brush against his lips and you're leaning in, pressing your lips against his.
Eddie doesn't hesitate, kissing you back softly, sweetly. It's perfect. The date, the kiss, him. You kiss and kiss and kiss. He keeps it soft and sweet, innocent almost, and you want and want.
You sit together, wrapped up in each other and blankets, trading little kisses until your eyes begin to droop and you're yawning more than you are kissing Eddie. He rubs his palms up and down your arms.
"C'mon, I'll take you home, sweetheart."
You let him help you up, let him guide you to the car, let him assist you into your seat. You watch as he quickly packs up the picnic and loads the car.
You watch, head turned to rest against the seat as he starts the car. You watch as his gaze drifts from the road to you every few minutes and watch his hands as they hold the wheel and you watch as he parks the car in front of your building.
He turns and watches you, watching him.
"You're really sweet, Eddie." You say softly, limbs tingling as his lips curl softly at your words, your smile turns into something more teasing, "Knew you were hot shit but sweet too? Talk about a whole package here."
Eddie's cheeks are bright red and he's pressing his lips together tightly, he shakes his head fondly.
"Bed time for you, I think," and then he's walking you to your door, warm hands holding your face and a kiss being pressed against your lips, "Goodnight baby, dream sweet."
You murmur a soft goodnight, get home safe, please let me know when you're home safe, and then you're in bed, clutching your phone and waiting for that I'm home text.
You fall asleep between one breath and the next.
You don't get to see Eddie for a while after that, but you speak everyday - all day if you can. Good morning texts and random anecdotes about your days, soft words and sweeter wishes, I miss yous and goodnights.
You're swamped with work, fielding emails because apparently you're super popular now - Eddie's video went viral and now everyone's trying to book you for interviews and the comments on every one of your social media's. It's exhausting, honestly.
You call Eddie to complain, and he coos at you, teasing you and taking your mind off the sudden explosion of work.
"That's not nice, you're mean," You pout, phone pressed against your cheek, heart fluttering at Eddie's smooth laughter.
"Thought I was sweet, baby" He teases, recalling your sleepy words on your date. You can picture his wide smile as he teases you, and you just want.
"Are you busy?" You ask on a sigh, expecting the answer to be yes - Eddie's been telling you that he's on a roll with new songs and music, said he's been inspired. "Wanna see you, like, a lot. I know it's only been a couple weeks but-"
"For you? I'm free as a bird" He sounds like an absolute angel, "Want me to come over?"
And, well. That sounds perfect.
"Please. I'll cook us dinner, if you like."
"Heaven sent, you." Eddie groans, softly. "I'll be there in like twenty minutes, baby."
It feels more like five before you're letting him into your apartment. You've barely got the door shut before his arms are wrapped around you, pulling you close to his chest and holding you.
"Missed you too, baby." Eddie says into your hair, arms squeezing you softly.
You go boneless against him, stress melting away in the safe circle of Eddie's arms. Eddie presses quick kisses to your hair, forehead, temples, wherever he can reach without pulling away.
You lean back, press your lips against his and you loose yourself in the sensation of being held close and kissed by Eddie Munson.
It's nothing like the sweet kisses you shared during your date. It's a little more. More intense, more burning and has you feeling weak in the knees.
Eddie's tongue brushes against your lower lip, and your insides light up like fireworks. Your lips part on a sigh and Eddie dips his tongue inside your mouth teasingly before he pulls away. Pecking you softly and smiling at you.
"Hey"
"Hey, gorgeous girl." His eyes go soft, warm, "No stressin' about work, alright?"
You nod, step back, tug at his hand, lead him to your couch and pull him down with you. You curl into him and Eddie wraps his arms around you again.
A kiss is pressed to the top of your head.
"What do you feel like for dinner?" You ask, cheek pressed firmly against his chest. Your stomach flutters at the feel of solid muscle beneath your skin, the warmth of him, the steady rise of his breathing, the beat of his heart.
His grip on you tightens and he's pulling you down as he lays, forcing you between him and the back of the couch. One of his hands grips your waist tight and the other is gently cradling your head to his chest.
"Anything. You could make me burnt toast and I'd be the happiest person alive," You snort and he tilts your face up slightly, "I'm serious. You're amazing, you really are. And I'm not just saying that because I like you so much, well, I mean, I guess I kinda am but you know what I mean. You're so, so smart, and funny and talented and passionate and caring, charming and so beautiful."
You're shifting so you're hovering over him slightly, face inches away from his as he talks. You've never been one to associate those things about yourself but as Eddie says it, you think you believe it. Your chest feels like it's going to burst and you slide your hand up from his side, resting against his own racing heart while he continues,
"Like, I was so gone for you even before we met. Is that weird? That's weird but I would see the photos Robin would take of you when the two of you hung out and like, sure I thought you were the prettiest person I've ever seen but then she would start telling us stories about you and oh man, you were my dream girl. Absolutely. And then Robin's calling me, asking me to do you a favor? I said yes so fast she laughed at me and hung up."
You're grinning now as he talks, it's a little embarrassing but you feel happy, adored.
"And then, then I was there with you and you were even prettier in person and so goddamn funny? My heart just about gave out and -"
You cut him off by kissing him.
You both melt into it. Eddie's fingers tangling into your hair, keeping you close. You press against his chest and slide your body over his, covering him completely as you slowly run out of air. You pull away, take a deep breath and press right back in. Eddie makes a small sound at the back of his throat and the hand that's not holding your head, slides down to the small of your back, pressing and keeping you firmly against him, like you'd want to be anywhere else.
The kiss quickly heats, gets messier, desire and fire and something a whole lot like love thrum through your veins and you want and need.
You shift slightly, rocking your hips gently down and oh, oh.
Eddie groans, his hand splayed over your lower back moves, grips your ass and pulls you down to him. He rocks against you and you feel him getting hard beneath you and you're moving. Slipping off him, getting to your feet as you fist at his shirt, tugging him up with you and then you're both stumbling to your room while trying to not break the kiss and feel as much of each other as you can.
Your arm slams into the door frame and your whine is lost in Eddie's lips, his hand gently rubs at your shoulder to soothe, and then you're on your bed, Eddie on top of you and pressing you into the mattress. His hair falls around your face, curtaining you both from the outside world and making you feel like there's no one else - time slows and stops and then its you and Eddie, the last two people on the planet.
His lips travel, moving from yours and down your jaw, your neck. He leans over and presses a few quick kisses to your shoulder where you banged it before he's at your throat again, doing his best to cover you in his marks, whether it's from his lips or teeth.
You hold him close and squirm, breathing heavy through parted, kiss swollen lips. His hand slips under your shirt, fingertips gently brushing along your side and coming to rest at your waist. You whine out his name and struggle to free your legs from under him, Eddie lifts slightly and you quickly wrap your legs around his hips, locking you together.
"Eds" You breathe out as he nips at your neck, he trembles and stops, lifting his head and looking at you like you were responsible for lighting the sun and hanging the stars in the sky.
"Eds," You sigh, fingers caressing his face, "Want you."
You see his expression shudder with desire and he surges up, kissing you.
"You've got me," He says, voice rough and deep, "You got me. Wanna make you feel good, baby, can I?"
You nod and press a soft yes Eddie, yes into his lips and then you're both pulling at clothes. Slowly revealing yourselves to each other, it's slow and lazy as you both touch and look your fill with each new bit of skin shown.
Desire is under your skin, but it's simmering, a slow burn that lets you focus on sharing yourself with Eddie rather than a desperate need to be filled.
He kisses and mouths at every inch of your skin, hands touching and caressing anywhere and everywhere. You've never felt so wanted as you do right now with Eddie pressing kisses along your chest and down your torso, with his hands gently keeping you from falling apart.
He kisses his way down until he's reached the waistband of your pants, eyes flicking up to yours. You hold his face, smile, give a small nod, watch as Eddie's eyes slip closed and he presses his lips to your fingertips, you burn.
Eddie slowly shimmies you out of your pants, then his own, and you're both naked together. He sighs quietly as he kneels in between your legs, fingers skating up your calf and thigh. His eyes are darting around like he's trying to drink you in and keep you, how you are right now, burned in his memory.
You do the same.
He's lean, pale skin stretched over wiry muscles. Years of lugging heavy equipment has toned his arms, shoulders, chest. You trace one of his tattoos on his thigh, the closest you can reach without moving - there's so many more than you thought and you want to catalogue every single one, with your fingers and lips and eyes.
"You're so beautiful." He whispers.
The moment feels delicate, gentle, and loud words don't feel right. You wrap your fingers around his wrist, gently pull.
"Eddie"
You're just as quiet, his name leaving your lips on a soft breath. He leans down and softly kisses you before he's moving again, settling down between your legs and your legs shake as you feel the first press of his lips against you.
He's slow about it, running his tongue along your folds like he's got nowhere else to be. It's gentle and soft and has you quaking. You bury your fingers in his hair and Eddie's gripping your thighs, bringing you impossibly closer. He moans so quietly you would have missed it if it weren't for the vibration shooting through you and stoking the fire building under your skin.
"Eddie," You moan, tugging on his hair, "Eddie"
You chance a look at him, and your eyes almost roll back at the sight. He looks blissed out, eyes almost closed and face slack as he eats you out like you're the best damn thing he's ever tasted.
It doesn't escape your notice that he's rocking his hips down, grinding onto the mattress, and that's oh, oh that's enough.
You yank hard enough on his hair that he pulls away, his lips swollen and red, his chin and jaw covered in your slick. You twist and reach for your bedside drawer, praying you didn't forget to replace your expired condoms. You almost cheer out loud when your fingers brush one.
You kiss him as you tear it open, fingers finding Eddie's cock and rolling it on, he whines as you touch him.
Eddie guides you into laying back on the bed, settling between your legs. He's covering you completely, arms and hair surrounding you and caging you in, and he looks at you, eyes finding yours.
"Eddie"
He brushes his nose along yours. His lips gently caress your skin. He hums, and soft words are breathed into your cheek - I've got you baby, you're perfect, so perfect.
Then he's pressing inside you.
He moves slowly as he fills you, trembling moans falling from both your lips. Your eyes burn, tears stinging and you struggle to breathe. You've never felt so full, so wanted, so complete.
"Shh, darling"
He rolls his hips against yours and you cling to him, fingers digging into his arms and back.
"Eddie"
He whispers your name and begins to gently thrust into you. It's heaven. It's rapture. You've never felt so connected to another and you're sure you're seeing your death, your life. Time slips away, it's just you and him, him and you, together.
Eddie keeps the pace slow, gentle, it makes you feel wanted and adored. Desired. You rock your hips up in time with him and he groans, presses his forehead against yours.
"Baby, baby. Look at me."
He's pleading, almost begging you. Your fingers grip him tightly and put your eyes open, find his. Something ignites and you feel yourself hurtling towards your climax.
"With me," Eddie moans, hips rolling faster, "Baby. Baby. With me."
"Yeah, yeah. Eddie."
Your fingers dig harder into his back and you tremble, keeping your eyes locked on his. Fireworks explode in your nerves and you're shaking apart, whining loudly as you drown in bliss.
Eddie's hips stutter and he groans until he's stilling, panting and boneless. He's still buried inside you and he settles his weight a little more firmly on you as you share oxygen, pressed so close that you can't be sure you haven't become one - melded together and fused.
You don't burn it, but you end up having toast for dinner.

You were fucked. You should’ve just called a plumber from the beginning.
Now your pipes were all wrinkled and your sink wasn’t draining.
Your heart was in your throat as you pulled out your phone and called your brother, Michael.
“Do you know any plumbers? My sink’s pipe is fucked,” you send him a picture and he chuckles down the line. Your brother is a mechanic, but he's got friends in many places.
Places you hope include wherever they hire plumbers.
“Yeah, I’ll call someone. Make sure you don’t use it again, dummy.” you nod, chewing at your cuticle.
“Thanks,” your voice shakes and you know your brother is frowning.
Life had been fucking you with no prep for the last couple months. Someone had broken into your house almost five weeks ago, stolen a couple small pieces of jewellery and fucked with your locks.
You’d had to change the locks, your front door and you’d taken to sleeping in the living room with a three inch knife under your pillow.
That had put you out of money for groceries and your brother had taken over doing it for you till you could again.
Now you can’t wash your dishes and your anxiety is all over the place.
“Stop it, go get ice cream or something. I’ll come over with him if he can swing it, okay?”
“You're the best,” you say earnestly and he chuckles, “I’ll buy shit to make the buns you like as payment.”
Your brother doesn’t deny himself the delicacy- it had taken a while for you to get back into doing things that made you happy and he was also a sucker for them.
“I’ll text you what he says, be safe. Love you.”
You return the sentiment and head out, double checking that you’d locked the gate and the front door.
You’d gotten a pint of orange creamsicle, and a pint of caramel biscuit and cream before getting the stuff to make the buns for your brother.
As you set them all down on your counter your phone pings off.
‘He can come tomorrow morning at 9, I’ll come with him. He’s a good guy though, don’t worry.’
You send your brother a thumbs up and then he sends you a photo of the man you suppose is coming to fix your pipes. He’s good looking, his hair is long in the photo, tied back in a low bun but there’s curls on his forehead. Another thing you notice is how massive he is. He’s broad and muscular but in the photo you’re looking at he’s got a warm smile on his face that shows off a dimple.
He looks friendly enough. Maybe tomorrow won’t be so bad.
You try to sleep in your bed, you don’t want your brother to notice that you’re still on the sofa in the morning, but being so far from the door makes your heart clench and you find yourself dragging your blanket out to the sofa that you’re sure by now has your body’s impression.
“Last night,” you say to yourself as you cuddle your pillow and tuck your blankets under your chin.
Your alarm has you groaning. 6:30 is a nice time, but not so nice when you don’t actually have to go into the preschool to teach, but for parent meetings at 11. Rubbing your eyes, you sit up, legs already moving to the kitchen to set the kettle on.
You go through your morning routine and only feel alive when you have a cup of tea and a bite of the last of sourdough toast you’d made last week. Your phone rings and you already know it’s your brother, “Yes I’m awake, dork.” he might be older than you by four years but you’re really close so the teasing is nice.
“Open the door then, and make sure you have on your glasses.” you flip him off over the phone but walk across the floor, glasses on, to unlock the door.
“Where’s your key?” you ask as you open the door, finding your brother holding two brown paper bags and the man in the photo standing next to him in grimy coveralls.
“I hooked it on the look of my pants, James was being prudish about touching me.”
“I wasn’t,” the beefy man starts, jingling his toolkits as an answer. His voice is nice, deep, cherry and his drawl is a little slow, but still very pleasant.
“Come in,” you step to the side and open the door wider. “Don’t worry about him, he just likes people touching him.” your brother scowls but doesn’t deny it.
“Don’t laugh when you see it, this one already did. I know it’s bad.” you say nervously as James sets down his stuff.
“S’fine, can’t be much worse than some of the other stuff I’ve seen.”
“Come eat, I got you that breakfast cake thing you like.” your brother sets the box before you, sliding over your cup of tea and a bottle of orange juice.
“Did you eat?” you eye him as you sit on the island.
“Shanice made eggs and toast.” you love your future sister-in-law, but the mention of her in the kitchen has enough merit to make your stomach roll in discomfort and your body to produce a gag.
“There’s chicken salad in the fridge and the bread’s there too,” you turn to James, “Do you want anything to eat, James? There’s vegan stuff in the fridge too if you don’t eat meat.”
Your brother rolls his eyes, “He could eat an entire chicken if he really wanted to.” You’re positive there’s a small blush on James’ face. He’s even prettier in person and you’re really trying not to stare.
His hair is tied back like it was in the photo, inky curly spirals slipping out around his ears and the nape of his neck. His eyes are a shade of brown that reminds you of sand- dark but flecked with lighter hues; he’s captivating.
He’s almost as wide as your fridge and his arms are huge, but he looks soft, even with all the corded muscles. You will your eyes not to linger on his hands.
Your brother makes himself a triple sandwich and takes one of your iced teas.
“I’m alright,” he eyes your cup of tea, “I could do with a cuppa though.” you nod and set the kettle on.
“One sugar or two?” He holds up a single finger before opening the cupboards. He hisses and you suppose that’s better than the laugh that bursts from your brother.
“S’not that bad,” you can tell he’s being extra nice when he sees the embarrassed look on your face, “I’ll have to change all the pipes though. Whoever installed these ones used really thin PVC so under the heat it crumpled.” James stands and accepts the tea from the dainty mug without a complaint.
“Will it be super expensive?” you ask, and your brother flicks your forehead. “What? You know I can’t afford many more swings right now.” You only feel a twinge of embarrassed heat licking at your neck as you look between James and Michael.
“You’re such an idiot, I’ll go half with you.” He says and you nod, giving him your best smile but your brother draws the line when you try to hug him.
“It won’t be, but I can’t do it today. The better pipes have to be ordered in, but they only take like a day to get here.” James explains and you nod.
“That’s fine, I’ve got most of my stuff already cooked so there won’t be much dishwashing.” James finishes the tea and pulls out a pen and paper from his bag. “Here’s my number, you can text me in like two days about it if I don’t call Michael first.”
You nod again, thanking him as he gathers all his stuff and moves for the door. Your brother waves him away and then turns to you, frowning.
“You still sleeping on the sofa?” It’s then that you realise you hadn’t put your blanket or your pillow away and scowl.
“I can’t sleep in the bed, my mind just runs wild.” you say as you finish your tea and cake. “I’ve been trying though.”
The door shuts and you realise James has probably heard what you’ve said. Your mouth can’t seem to not run away from you when he’s around.
You brush the slight shame away with the semi-reassuring thought that ‘at least he doesn’t know why a grown woman can’t sleep in her own bed,’ it doesn’t last long, but it mellows the initial sting.
Michael ruffles your hair and you shrug, “It’ll just take some time,” he says softly, “Want me to get a security system?” You shake your head at that.
“You’re already going half and half with me on this, and you paid for my groceries for like three weeks. I’ll be okay.”
Your brother doesn’t look convinced, but he can’t argue with you because his phone rings.
“Work, I gotta go, but think about it okay? Shanice won’t mind either,” you nod but you both know you won’t be thinking about anything.
“Have a good day at work, I’ll bake those buns the second the sink’s all good.”
-
You’re coming back from work the next day when your phone rings, an unknown number. You frown and then realise it might be James.
“Hello?”
“Hi, angel. This is James,” he says, like you’ve forgotten his name over the last twenty four hours.
“Hi James, is everything okay?” you ask, shoving a couple folders into your bag from the passenger seat of your car.
“Yeah, was calling about the pipes. I’ve just picked them up and I’m near-by. Would you mind at all if I came to install them today?”
You stick the key in the ignition, “I wouldn’t mind, but I’m about twenty minutes from my house, would you wait?”
You really hope he can, you want this problem resolved as soon as possible.
“I can, angel. Don’t sweat it,” he says before he hangs up. You do a happy shimmy in your seat before pulling out of the school’s parking lot.
Next, you call Michael.
“James is coming over to fix the pipes today, just in case you know, I go missing or something.”
Your brother laughs, “He’s a sweetheart. Maybe stop listening to your crime podcasts, you’re getting even more morbid.”
“Oh whatever, I’ll stop by tomorrow with the buns.”
“Make sure you get some sleep,”
“Yeah yeah, I’m going now.”
James is in his car when you pull up, a bronco that looks very well kept. “Sorry for the wait,” you say as you unlock your door.
“S’fine, had enough time to have a late lunch.”
You check your watch, “It’s almost four James, that’s more like an early dinner.”
The man lifts his shoulder and drops it with a smile, “It’s been one of those days.”
“Do you want a cup of tea or iced tea?” you ask as you open your fridge. “I should warn you though, they’re addictive.”
“What flavour iced tea do you have?” you smile, James might be someone else you get hooked on them.
“Peach, hibiscus and I think I see one last cucumber melon.”
“Which is your favourite?”
“Peach! It’s not really that sweet though, but if you like it super sweet maybe hibiscus would be better.”
James smiles at the way you ramble as he opens up his toolkit and then the pipes.
“I’ll take the peach angel,” you pass him the glass bottle after tipping it upside down. James takes a long sip and sighs, “That’s good.” you nod and then move to take out a bowl of rice and chicken.
“Do you need me to get anything? To help?” you ask and James shakes his head.
“Not right now,” you think about going to eat before asking,
“Can I watch? Just to know what you’re doing?” then you back track as James doesn’t say anything.
“Not because I don’t trust you to do it well, I just like knowing. Like with my door, I learned how to put it up when I had to change it,” you realise you’re rambling when James smiles and his dimple is visible through his stubble.
“You can watch angel, you can hand me the tools I’ll need.”
You and James make a good team- you’d been nervous at first and then when James was so close you could smell his coconutty cologne you felt your head go a little light but almost two hours later, your pipes were changed.
“Moment of truth is if the water goes down,” you say as you stand, knees cracking in the process.
James nods, “You’re not a bad assistant, if you ever change professions I’ll put in a good word for you.”
You beam at that before opening up the tap and letting the water flow. Not even a drop of it pools in the sink and your heart feels like a feather floating away in the breeze.
“You did it!” you turn to James with a pleased smile and he blushes. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” you exclaim and he chuckles, already packing up his toolkit.
“You’re welcome angel, Michael already paid by the way.”
You shake your head at your brother’s actions, but you can’t find it in you to be upset, not when your sink is fixed. “Can I entice you to have dinner then? I’ll feel bad if you just go,” you tack on when James doesn’t answer. “I’ve got pizza or taco bowls.” you sing-song and that breaks him.
“What kind of pizza?”
It’s how James ends up on your sofa, overalls hanging off his hips, revealing a dark red compression shirt as he holds his plate.
Your blanket is still on the sofa, but you shove it to the armchair.
“Wanna watch anything specific? I’m going through Christmas movies right now,” James’ eyes are wide at your confession.
“It’s the middle of August,” you nod and bite your bar-b-que chicken pizza.
“I’m making a short list of Christmas movies for this Christmas. Last three years in a row I did one.”
James grins, “So I take it you like the season.”
You nod, “If you ask Michael, he’d tell you I was obsessed with it,” you shrug, setting down the slice of pizza.
“When we were kids, I used to go crazy about it. Write letters to Santa with our address and mail it, play Christmas songs all through the month and I was a little excessive with the decorations- especially when I started working and could buy the ones I wanted. It just always feels like a good time- eternal joy and hope and all that jazz I guess.”
James looks around your house now and finds a few trinkets in the space and for a moment he can imagine it decked out for Christmas. “I can see it,” he groans as he takes a bite. “That’s delicious, angel.”
Your face gets hot under the compliment and you give James a small smile.
“What are you watching now?” he asks, taking another bite.
“The Holiday,” you search for the remote and find the movie. “It makes the shortlist every year, but it’s so good.”
James and you watch the remaining forty five minutes, and he nudges your shoulder during the sad parts so you don’t let the tears in your eyes fall.
“Do you think people rent that cottage?” He asks you and you frown.
“I dunno, but if it’s for rent it’ll be so nice! It’s so cosy looking.”
James doesn’t point out that your house looks just as cosy. It reminds him of the houses you see in magazines- not the boring ones that’s all one colour and minimalistic, but the ones that seem to be alive with colour and things.
He’s sure they all serve a purpose- the small statues in one corner near your window, the coasters that look like flowers, it all seems to complement you and your home and James thinks to himself, ‘this is what a home should be.’
He stretches as he stands and you do as well, reaching for his plate that he doesn’t give. Instead he takes your own and walks to the kitchen.
“You’re a guest, guests don’t do the dishes.” you try to get your plate back but it’s no use, James is already washing them and stacking them in the draining board.
“Thanks for dinner angel,” he picks up his toolkit and the bucket of parts that need to be tossed out.
“You’re welcome, thanks for fixing my pipes.”
James waves it off, “I’d say we should do this again sometime, but changing your pipes so frequently isn’t ideal.”
It isn’t till after you hear the innuendo in his words. You do laugh a little in the moment, so James counts it as a win. Your laugh reminds him of that fairy in the show his niece loves- a sweet tinkering, bell-like sound that makes him smile.
“It was nice though. You’re good company.”
You walk James to the door, “Make sure and lock up,” he says kindly and you nod.
You notice that you don’t hear his boots don’t move till he hears the locks click and your heart flutters stupidly at the action.
You can’t like him already, you barely know him. A voice in the back of your head says, “But he’s already so dreamy,” you’re very inclined to agree.
-
You’d thought that would’ve been the last time you saw James too, but three weeks later, he’s at your brother’s house for his summer party and you’re fucked all over again.
He’s not a bad sight to be greeted with, arms exposed in his black tank top and his thighs. They’re thick and you can see the outline of muscle on them, even from far away. There’s a couple smattering of tattoos that peak from the hem of his shorts and you have to stop yourself from drooling.
He’s laughing at something Shanice is telling him, and he looks even more gorgeous.
It should be illegal, you think to yourself, for the man to look that effortlessly beautiful.
“You made it!” Michael says, handing you the drink in his hand before gesturing for you to follow him.
“You said if I didn’t come you’d have called me non-stop. I love you, but that’s annoying.” Michael leads you over to his fiance and James. You hug Shanice and wave politely at James.
Conversation is easy, and James hopes he’s being discrete as his gaze falls to you a little longer than necessary. You catch him once, and the look in his eyes confuses you just a little.
You don’t think badly of yourself, but you’re just in a pair of jean shorts and the top of your bikini- a pretty pink colour, after you’d read an article about lifeguards having a hard time spotting people in pools and the ocean if they had on blues and greens- is exposed by your lack of shirt.
In any case, you didn’t think it was cause for his stares to linger and look so… primal if that was even the right word.
Michael says, “James, do you know any good alarm systems?” as you sip your peach iced tea and vodka. You elbow your brother as James nods.
“There’s a few out there that I’d recommend, why?”
“Don’t,” you murmur to Michael who ignores you entirely.
Your brother doesn’t hesitate as he says, “Someone broke into her house a couple weeks ago and she hasn’t been able to sleep in her room since.”
“Yeah, just talk about me like I’m invisible,” you mutter and James feels anger and fury for you fester in his chest. It blooms rapidly and takes him by surprise.
“You’re not invisible, you’re just a hard head.” your brother says, James is inclined to agree as well- especially after the portion of the conversation he had overheard that first day you met.
“I can stop by the hardware tomorrow if you want, should have some of the ones I usually recommend.”
Your brother smirks and you feel shame and something you can’t yet name balloon your belly.
“Thank you, James,” you say as you finish off your vodka iced tea, already feeling for another one.
As the food comes out, you help yourself; ensuring to avoid James’ gaze because over the last couple weeks he’s seemed to come to know a lot of the bad things about your life. You pile watermelon and pineapple on one side of your plate before picking some fries and a bar-b-que chicken breast. Your hand reaches for a lemonade when a bigger one grabs it.
“I got it angel,” James’ own plate is full too. More meat than fruit but it’s fuel either way so it doesn’t bother you. “Where’re you sitting?”
You point to the seat near the pool.
“You don’t have to be so nice, James. Michael’s mouth is just too big for his own good.”
James rolls his eyes, “I’m not being nice because of him,” he says, taking the seat beside you and handing over your lemonade after cracking the seal. “Or because I fixed your pipes, or anything else.”
You frown as you chomp on a piece of watermelon. “You’re not?”
James shakes his head, digging into his food.
You squint at him and James chuckles, “No, you should feel safe in your house.”
You don’t say anything much after that, overwhelmed by his care- even if you’re stopping yourself from reading too far into it.
“You’re real sweet, James.” you say after a while, spearing a look at him to find his eyes already on you; that same kind of hungry look in his eyes like earlier.
“Yeah?” he hums and for a moment you want him to kiss you. You want to feel the press and the heat of his lips on yours, then you catch the thought. You hardly know him. But you want him and him coming over to install the security system might not go as smoothly as the plumbing had gone. You find you wouldn’t mind if James does something other than install the alarm system.
“Yeah.”

could you write something with kisses before dinner where avery feels like she’s not your your steve’s favourite and she gets upset?
for you my love! dad!steve x pregnant!mom!you. 3.7k
Steve gives Bethie's hand a tug. "Come on, this way."
Bethie follows without complaint, her rain boots smacking the sidewalk with each step. Steve keeps checking to make sure the umbrella's covering her, though there's little need for his worrying when she's wearing her rain mac, a scarf, and a super thick sweater under her coat.
It's a very short walk to the door for Avery's classroom. She and the other first graders get called out one by one from a huge door that exits a cubby room. Steve stands where he always does, out of the way from most but close enough that Avery doesn't have to look far.
Steve hadn't always wanted kids. When he was sixteen, he thought that having children might be the worst thing in the world, not because he'd ever been around any kids that weren't worth loving, but because they acted like a sort of glue, sticking you to another person. But he got older, and he realised he wanted to be stuck, and then he realised there isn't any glue to children, they can't serve as an adhesive that binds you to someone. You either love your partner or you don't (of course, it's a little more complicated than that) and children are usually separate.
Steve met you. He loved you more than he ever loved another person. And then you had Avery, and Bethie, and Dove, and he somehow loved you more for it. It's immeasurable.
Steve loves you, and he loves his kids most of all. You wouldn't be offended, you feel the same —kids are a different kind of love.
It's why being out in the rain doesn't matter. Bethie's hand is warm where he covers it in his, and when she gives a little shiver he crouches down to rub her shoulders, knowing it doesn't help but wishing it did.
He's so excited to see Avery he can't describe it right, and it doesn't make any sense because he saw her seven hours ago at drop off when she kissed him goodbye and ran away to go play races with her friends. Since then, he's taken Bethie to her doctor’s check up, chased Dove around the house for a bath, put on a load of washing, made dinner preparations, done the dishes, all while acting as a willing serf for a moderately pregnant you on bed rest after a bout of high blood pressure. All of those anxieties and chores and exhaustions —he wouldn't have it any other way— and still he's geared up to see his oldest.
Avery usually runs out of the door like she's on springs, but today she's only walking. Steve groans as he stands up properly, beckoning for Avery to come and stand under the umbrella as he calls, "Hey, Avey-bear, where's your water bottle?"
She only has her lunch box.
"I think it's lost forever," she says, looking up at him with wide eyes.
He can't hug her with his hands full, but he gives her the best 'dad loves you' look that he can muster, his most adoring smile. "You think so? Don't worry, we'll fix it."
"It's not broken," she says.
"I just mean that we'll find it or I'll buy you another one." Avery holds her hand up. "Take your sisters, baby.”
"I wanna be under the umbrella," she whines.
Steve doesn't blame her. The rain is coming down heavier by the minute, and she doesn't have a nice sweater on like Beth. The weather wasn't as unpleasant this morning.
"You can hold it if you don't stab me in the eye," he says.
"Yes! Please please please," she says, accepting the umbrella he passes with a charmingly pleased smile.
They walk through the playground, the winding path to the parking lot and between cars. Steve picks Bethie up and carries her from the parking lot onward, worried she'll pull away. Avery tells him about her day without prompting, the umbrella jabbing him in the hips and stomach occasionally.
"We're making cards tomorrow for them, do you think the old people like cards?" she asks as they approach the car.
"I think they'll love your card."
Steve unlocks the doors and pulls Avery's open first. He takes the umbrella from her and she climbs into her car seat with a load of thunking and huffing. Steve didn't think it through, there's the umbrella to shake dry, car seat straps to click, and his arms are still full of Beth, who's been her usual quiet self the entire time.
"You okay, Beth?" he asks her.
"I'm cold," she murmurs.
Steve can't have that. He pushes the umbrella into the footwell by Avery's feet and water flecks the poor girl's jeans, but at least he has a hand free to click together her car seat strap. She lifts her head for a kiss and he doesn't recognise it until the door's shutting between them.
He winces and rushes to Bethie's side. "Sorry, babe," he says when he opens the door, putting Beth in her seat with ease. Avery pouts at him. "I'll give you a kiss when we get home, I'm sorry, my head's not screwed on tight enough right now. I'm just rushing to get back to mom."
Avery blows hair out of her face, annoyed.
The drive home is nice and slow. Steve's cargo is too important to rush and risk hydroplaning. Bethie's asleep by the time they get home as he hoped she would be, and Avery is itching for the bathroom. He lets her out first and she sprints away before he can get a kiss.
Steve scoops Bethie up and whacks his head on the car roof. He does it every single time he tries to get her out, and he stands there with the rain pounding his back, sucking air in through his teeth. "Sugar," he whispers.
He pulls Bethie securely to his chest, locks the car and climbs the short step into the house, head pounding. He's unsurprised and horrified to see you up in the kitchen making Avery a cup of juice, Dove propped on your baby bump like a perfectly sized seat.
"Not okay," he says, hands covering Bethie's ears as he closes the front door behind him. "Go sit down now. I'm not kidding. Right now."
"Steve–"
"Y/N," he says, real annoyance in his voice. He doesn't like bossing you around, doesn't like being a jerk, but you can't mess with bed rest, not so far along. It's not even the baby he's thinking about, it's you. "Go lay down, please."
You smile guiltily. "I'm feeling better."
Avery looks like she's the one who's had the telling off when you leave. She sips from her juice cup and won't meet his eyes, her sleeves dark with water. She has a bad habit of not rolling them up when she washes her hands, and Steve always sighs when he sees it.
Your home is oddly shaped. When you first walk in, you can see up the stairs to the right, and you can see straight down the hall to the kitchen, and you can also see into the living room to the left. The living room leads into the kitchen, too, which means there's double the baby gates.
Steve puts Bethie down on the big bean bag by the windows and finds you laying down on the L-shaped couch, Dove content where she sits by your hip. Your hands play with the thin blonde wisps of hair at her neck. The longer it grows the darker it becomes.
"Sorry for worrying you," you say, not looking at him. "I really do feel better."
"I'm glad you do, but you know it's not one of those things that works on feelings," Steve says. He rubs his forehead, and then he drops his hand against his thigh in defeat. "Sorry for being snappy. You freaked me out."
"I have to get up sometimes. To pee and stuff," you say. "Will you get Ave her juice? She wants Mapap."
"What? For what?" he asks.
Dove turns in her seat to look at Steve like she's surprised he's here. Then, in a startling turn of events, she babbles happily. "Daddy," she says, holding up her hands. "Home."
"I'm home," he agrees sweetly.
"Daddy," she says again.
Dove loves Steve, but she's always had a preference for her mom. When you're working, Dove is more than happy to spend her days in Steve's arms, in his lap, some days she's stuck to him like a leech, but you walk through the door and she's immediately team Mom. It makes sense, she must miss you while you're away. For the first time in a while, Dove's had to miss Steve instead.
He picks her up with a huge beaming smile and kisses her cheek, still chubby with baby fat. "You're happy to see me?" he asks against her skin.
"I think she has a tummy ache."
"Dove?" Steve asks, folding a curl behind Dove's ear.
"Avery." You grimace. "Are you sure I can't stand up? I feel fine."
"Don't get up." Steve gives Dove another kiss and says to her, "I love you, I'll be right back. Please still love me."
Dove curls into your chest when Steve puts her down in a way that says she certainly won't still love him when he returns, but she enjoyed the hug.
Steve almost trips in the doorway to the kitchen over a teddy bear. Avery eyes him reproachfully, her glass of juice a quarter filled.
"Mommy says you have a tummy ache. Let's get you some medicine, yeah?" Steve asks.
"It's okay."
"It stopped hurting?"
"No," Avery says, frowning. She looks to be on the sudden verge of tears as kids tend to be.
Steve attempts to rescue her. "Okay, baby. Come here," he says, holding out his arms. Avery puts her glass on the counter and walks into his arms, a sad sound squeezed from her as he carries her to the kitchen table. He sits her on a table mat, ducking to be the same height as her eyes, his hands finding a gentle home on her small shoulders. "What's the situation, honey? What kind of pain is it?"
"It feels weird," she says quietly.
"Throw up weird?" he asks, the most important port of call.
"No."
"You sure?" he asks.
Avery shakes her head. Steve doesn't think she'll throw up, but she looks so unhappy that he frowns at her, rubbing the nape of her neck. "What's the pain feel like?"
"Just hurts."
"Okay. I'll get you some Mapap, honey. What would make you feel better? A cuddle?" He leans forward to whisper, "Are you feeling gassy? Maybe you need a burp."
"No, dad," she says. She must be feeling awful, she doesn't laugh. Burps are always funny.
Steve grabs the Mapap from the fringe and tips it onto a spoon. "Here," he murmurs, passing her the last of her juice so she's ready to chase the odd taste of her medicine away.
Avery hesitates to open her mouth.
She has the same eyes as Steve, and right now they're filled with a look hasn't seen in his own for years. He's not sure what to make of it. She doesn't look sick, she looks sad, really sad, driving Steve to a new kind of panic.
"I'll take some with you," he says.
"Really?" she asks.
It's kids Mapap —he could drink the bottle and still have a backache afterward. "Yeah, really really. You want me to go first or second?"
She deliberates. "First."
Steve lifts the spoon of medicine to his nose. He knows he should pretend it's delicious, no big deal, but he sniffs it suspiciously, touching the tip of his tongue to it and wincing dramatically at the taste.
"I get a hug after this, right?" he asks.
Avery laughs. "Yeah, dad."
He raises his brows, as if to say, Well, in that case, and takes the medicine. It's a fake strawberry flavour and disgusting but he pretends it's only sort of bad.
Avery offers him her cup of juice as soon as he takes the spoon out. She's lovely.
Steve makes another cup of juice and another spoon of medicine. Avery takes it without any hesitation, going as far as to say, "It's not that bad."
Steve's thankful for the reprieve. He really hadn't been liking the way Avery looked like she was feeling. He scoops her up as though she weighs nothing (she grows like a bamboo shoot every summer, but Steve is strong) and carries her to the living room, where you're half asleep now and Dove's definitely not, her short fingers petting your neck.
"She's sleeping," Dove tells Steve factually as he sits.
Avery leans against Steve's chest.
"I'm not sleeping," you mumble, "just my Dove is being so nice to me."
"Well, not to make anyone jealous or anything, but Avery promised me a prime time kiss. Like, a huge one."
"No I didn't," Avery says, confused.
"Yes you did, don't be a meanie. I meant to give you one in the car, 'member?"
"Oh," Avery says, "right."
Steve gets his kisses and a great big cuddle, hugging his eldest baby as close as he can. The TV plays one of Dove's favourite movies and you fall asleep, snoring and drooling at once, dribbling from the corner of your mouth. It seeps into the cushion you've underneath you. Dove laughs and points it out to Steve and Avery. Avery's a sweetheart, so she wipes your drool away and pushes a fingertip into your lips until you close your mouth.
Dove climbs off of you and wanders over to Bethie. "Leave her alone, Dove," Steve warns.
Dove gives him a, Who, me? look and climbs onto the bean bag, to Steve's annoyance. Luckily, Dove's feeling nice, and she doesn't wake her sister. She lays down beside her and loosely holds her hand, and after half an hour, everyone's asleep besides Steve and Avery.
He can't help looking at you constantly, worried you're gonna get sick and he won't notice. He's worrying the same thing about Ave.
He's too obvious.
"Is mom okay?" Avery asks.
"Mom's okay. Are you worrying?" he asks.
"You're worrying," Avery says.
"I know mom's gonna be okay, I can promise you she's fine," he says. "But it's like you. You're not feeling very well and it makes me worry, but I know you'll be okay."
Avery doesn't say anything, rubbing her nose against his collar.
"Do you believe me?" he asks.
"About what?"
"About everything, I guess."
"Yeah," she says. Steve gives her shoulder a little pat.
"Okay, good. Mom is fine, and baby's fine, and we'll all be okay as long as she rests up. And your tummy stops hurting, duh."
Avery isn't cheered up by his doting, sweet tones. She stays flat as a pancake on his chest and doesn't move an inch for a while. Steve waits. He knows Avery like the back of his hand. She has something she wants to say, or tell him, or ask.
"Dad?" she whispers.
"Yeah?"
"Is it okay to be nobody's favourite?"
"What?"
Avery hides her face.
Steve encourages her back out again, gently carding through her hair. "What do you mean?" he asks.
Her bottom lip trembles. "Dove is mommy's favourite, and your favourite is Beth, so who's favourite am I?" she asks.
"You're my favourite," he says on automatic.
"But you can only have one," she says, glaring at him.
"That's not how this works, you're my girls. You're my daughters. You're all my favourites."
"You love Bethie most."
Steve wants to say, Of course I don't, how could you think that? He wants to say, Avery, don't be silly. He wants to say, That's not true, because it genuinely isn't.
"I'm so sorry," he says instead.
Avery sniffs. "Why?"
"Ave, I'm so sorry. That's not what you're supposed to think, I– honey, why do you think I love Bethie most?" he asks. "It's not true, I adore your sister, but I love you the same. I love you so much it made my heart actually get bigger," Steve says, rushing to explain it, wanting there to be no doubt. "When you were born, it was the best day of my life. The best day of my life."
"You and Beth are always snuggling," Avery says. Steve has to strain to hear her.
"Your sister loves hugs, and I love giving them to her," he agrees. "Do you wish we hugged more often?"
She nods. He nods back.
"Then we will. I promise."
"I want to be your favourite," she says.
"Avery," he sighs. "You are. It's hard to explain it, but I love you and Bethie and Dove and even the baby all the same."
Avery starts crying. Steve had known it was going to happen, and it still feels like a whack to the chest, flat-palmed.
"Is this why your tummy hurts?" he asks quietly.
"I want to be your favourite," she says again, cheeks shining with tears. "I want to be mom's favourite, it's not fair."
"You're my favourite singer," he says.
Avery frowns.
"You're my favourite singer. You're my favourite at putting her socks on. You're my favourite pancake maker, my favourite–"
"It's not the same," Avery says.
Steve takes her hands in his. "Yes it is! You're my favourite girl just like your sisters, but if that's not good enough, you're my favourite at so much other stuff, Ave. You have my favourite smile, and do my favourite dances. I'm really sorry you think you're no one's favourite," he says, aching. "I promise you, me and your mom love you so much it's weird."
"You promise?" she checks.
"I promise. Cross my heart."
Avery sniffles. Steve wipes her warm cheeks with the side of his hand, tucking her hair behind her ears. She's his mirror. If there's one thing Steve wanted, it was that she would never feel how he felt growing up.
"I can make it up to you, sweetheart, you tell me what it is that makes you upset and I can fix it. Will you tell me, please?"
Avery tells him in little fits and starts. It's nothing done maliciously, ever, but he can heartbreakingly see why Avery might have stacked all of these things together and started wondering what's wrong. Bethie gets super tired in the early evenings, and when she's tired she clings, hoarding Steve's affection for herself; Dove's young enough to be a handful, hoarding yours. There's the missed kiss in the car after school, and a hug that didn't include her at breakfast. A few days ago, you said to Dove, "Mom needs a kiss from her favourite girl." You had no idea Avery was awake, and you didn't mean it with even a drop of cruelty, but it doesn't matter. Avery took it to heart, and she's been upsetting herself with it ever since.
"Do you want to talk to mom?" he asks her, stroking her cheek with his knuckle.
"I don't know…"
"I can talk to her for you, if you want to. Or we can talk to her together. She'll be really sorry, honey, I promise. You know mommy doesn't have a mean bone in her body."
You wake up not too long after that, dragging yourself into a sluggish sleeping position, hand on your bump. "Woah, she's kicking me."
You look up to them with a huge smile, evidently excited to show them, hand already in the hem of your shirt and pulling up, but you notice their matching frowns and say, "What's wrong?"
Steve explains. Avery looks at your bump rather than your face as he does, barely reacting to his hand stroking her hair back.
"Oh," you say, pouting gently, eyebrows pinching together, "Avery, I didn't mean it like that. I didn't mean she's my only favourite, that's not–" You hold your hand out for her. "Sorry, baby. I've really upset you, haven't I?"
Avery squeezes her eyes closed and nods.
"I bet that was really sad, thinking you weren't our favourite girl," you murmur, voice imbued with apology, sympathy, and an overflowing measure of love.
"It's okay," Avery says.
"It wasn't just your fault," Steve says to you. "It was me too."
"Can I come and lie on you?" Avery asks.
Your eyes light with relief. "Yes, yeah. Don't kick my tummy, okay?" You pull Avery onto your front. She's cautious not to dig a knee into your bump but otherwise collapses boneless into your arms.
Parents make literally hundreds and thousands of mistakes just like kids do. Steve knows he hadn't meant to hurt Avery, but he did, and he feels overwhelmingly depressed about it. Being a dad is the only thing he's ever been good at. This is his biggest screw up to date.
You have your eyes closed, your face against Avery's pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. Blindly, you squeeze Steve's arm.
"I love you so much, Avery," you say. "Thanks for telling us how you're feeling. You're always brave."
"I'm not," Avery says. All the love and affection is finally getting to her. She sounds bashfully pleased rather than sad now, hugging your neck extra tight.
"You are!" You pull Steve toward you. "Dad knows. Isn't she just the best in the world?"
Steve covers her back with his arm. The youngest both snore unawares on the big bean bag, the TV flickering with the static at the end of the movie. He should've started dinner an hour ago, but he doesn't feel hungry.
"You're the nicest, strongest, kindest girl I've ever met," Steve says. He's laying it on thick, and every word is true.
"What about me?" you joke.
"You're fine."
"Dad!" Avery laughs, turning her head to smile at him reproachfully. "You can't say that, tell the truth!"
"You're joint first best," he corrects. He covers his mouth with his hand, whispering to Avery, "But you're the very very best, Ave."
Her eyes go soft, straight lashes kissing in the outer corners as she smiles. "Thanks, dad."

Hey. It's been a while. I think it's right to update you on stuff so tl;dr I'm probably not going to be around for some time, and if I am, it'll be in a diminished capacity, but if you're interested, do check under the cut. I'll also immediately state that I am not in any dangerous situation, it's other stuff, but I'll immediately dispel that before the cut just in case you just wanted to know that in particular.
Let's talk for a bit.
Long story short, the economy here is in shambles. The idea was for me to already have a new job, but that's not gone according to plan. I've been eating into my savings for a while now, and the people that told me that I had a job lined up for me September or at the latest October, meaning, this month, have been ghosting me. It seems to not be an option anymore, and no explanation was ever given to me. A shame, because it came from a place of relative trust.
This has eaten away at my nerves somewhat, and though it is the month of my birthday, I can't help but notice that, between the economy being this bad here, how hard it's been to land another job, and the fact that I'm eating into my savings, well, it's got me more than a bit worried. I'm not in any immediate danger of losing the roof over my head, or starving, or anything like that, but after a few months of "well, my savings take yet another hit this month with no end in sight", it's been rather rough, you'll understand, and it's compounded a bit. For just a second, and not as a primary, secondary, or even tertiary plan, more like a twenty-eighth measure if anything, I did entertain the dark idea of maybe asking for a bit of help here, and the moment that thought came up, I realized, "Ok, this is truly and well affecting me, I never want to do that", because, again, it's not like I'm in any immediate danger of homelessness or anything that grave, but it's been weighting on me enough that, even as a distant glint in the horizon of an idea, I did consider it. I don't want to sound like I'm blowing my own horn here, but for over a decade that I've had this blog, and the community/following/whatever you want to call it that has grown around it, I've never once asked for something like monetary help, because I think that can be a slippery slope. I've seen people far bigger than me, and some smaller, too, get addicted to asking for donations or help, or simply start taking it for granted when they ask for such a thing. My friends will tell you I writhe in agony when I receive a gift such as a game or something over the mail. My logic is that I don't need it, not in a proud way, but rather, in a "I wish you would spend this money on yourself instead, or on someone that truly needed it". With this in mind, I realized that, for me to even slightly consider that as an option, for the first time in my life, it meant that it was biting away at me far, far more severely than I thought. It's translated to other parts of my life as of late; I've not been depressed or anything, but I've felt this itch, this remarkably implacable feeling of "my man, you don't deserve to be taking it easy right now, something has to change, progress needs to be made".
I went out to wander for a few days, then arrived at my cousin's farm. He and his wife live a humble, hard working life, he invited me to stay for a while, I accepted, it was real nice, we hanged out, went exploring creeks and mountainsides while knocking back a few beers, the whole shebang for two guys that grew up in the middle of nowhere. Anyhow, it's true that the whole exposition that was the previous paragraph is something at play, but I also just... Haven't really wanted to be online at all. I don't want to check anything, read anything, and I feel a deep sense of alienation that I've not really felt in a long time. I suppose this is one of those good ol' Bro Is Going Through It, if we're to summarize it in a few words. It's easy for me to dispel negative thoughts and bounce back normally, because I've done a great deal of personal building and homework on knowing myself inside out, but not even this black belt in Drimobrain has helped this time around, and well, it bothers me, obviously, bwahaha. It's the first time in a few years that I really sincerely do not understand what's up with me, and while it's not really something I would consider me being rock bottom or anywhere near those depths, I do think I'm still below surface level, which is something I don't admit to easily, but have no choice to. I would love to be able to give this malaise shape and firmness through written or spoken word, but right now, it's a work in progress.
What bothers me the most is the sense of alienation I spoke of before: It makes no sense for me to feel this way, I'm treated with love and kindness every day, no one's silencing me in any way, I don't deal with barbs or hostility. So why is it that that's how I feel? Or perhaps it's something that feels similar, but I've no clue what it is, so I'm compounding it with alienation?
Regardless, it's all compounded into me just... Not wanting to be online. In the words of a friend of mine, "Dreamer has a fetish for self-development and growth", and, well, yeah, she's got that right despite the wording, I like to feel as if I'm improving every day and becoming better every day, even if slightly, and right now I feel like I'm just degenerating. Is it because my mood has been sour overall? Maybe. It might as well just be the fact that I Just Don't Want To Be Online For A While, and capricious clown that I am, if I want to do something, I do it, and if I don't want to do something, I don't do it. I'm tied to nothing and no one except my desire and drive to do or not do things. I can't change that, nor do I want to change that. And in this case, my heart's said to me, "fuck going online, go out, do things, try to get a job".
I also almost got recruited into something fucking vile that I thankfully noticed in time to avoid, but that's a story for another time.
There you have it. Am I leaving the internet/blue website forever? No, of course not, I like it here. Are things hard right now? They are, to be honest. Are they the worst it could be? Not at all. Do I have complete clarity of what's up with this fog inside of my head? No, and that bother me quite a bit. Are things going to be alright? Yeah, I think they will be.
I do regret it's in October of all months that this is going on, because it's where my shitposting power is at its apex due to my birthday, but hey, things happen, not necessarily for a reason, but they can be handled in such a way that it gives them meaning. I'm a fervent believer in that. I'm sorry this isn't the update you may have been hoping for, full of Lucina cosplayer blowjobs and other such hijinks, but hey, they can't all be Rainbow Road, haha.
So in case we don't see each other for a while, I hope you're all doing fine and dandy. I'm alive, I'm trying to be well, and most importantly, most fundamentally, most quintessentially,
I stay silly.

i don’t dance - matthew tkachuk
Tumblr media
matthew tkachuk x fem!reader
summary: while on a road trip with your best friend, he shows you around calgary, including his favourite country bar
warnings: drinking, language, nsfw themes/implied smut, i’ve been thinking about cowboy matt a lot lately, idk how to line dance so i apologize in advance
word count: 1.9k yeehaw matt playlist 🎧
“matty, you’re joking right?” you pleaded hopefully, looking at your best friend who stood before you, a black cowboy hat atop his head.
“you know what they say - when in…calgary,” he replied with a toothy grin.
“i think the phrase is ‘when in rome, genius,” you both laughed. but you were not in rome, you were in calgary alberta, and matthew had spent his entire day off showing you around the city he spent so many years calling home. you knew matt had loved his time with the flames, but florida was home now; and he was off to a great start with the panthers, as well as enjoying the warm weather.
you and the tkachuks had grown up down the street from eachother in st.louis, and while you were closer to his sisters age, you had always been closest with matthew. you had visited him in calgary a few times, but hadn’t spent a ton of time there while he lived there. when he told you he was moving to florida, you went with him, tired of being so far away from your best friend.
“it’s a country bar, i have to dress the part,” he argued. matty had shown you the arena, the house where he had lived when he was with the flames, and various landmarks around the city. the final stop on your tour was a bar that he insisted on dragging you to, despite your known aversion for country music.
“i’m not really sure it’s my scene,” you sighed, looking through your suitcase for anything remotely appropriate to wear tonight. it was surprisingly warm out despite being late in the evening, so you settled on some cutoff denim shorts and a tight, low cut t-shirt that showed off your cleavage. you got dressed in the bathroom of the hotel room you and matt were sharing, a little nervous as you looked at yourself in the mirror. over the years you had developed a small crush on the curly haired boy you had known for so long; and you secretly hoped he thought you looked hot as you adjusted your shorts one more time before heading back out.
“is this okay?” you asked, the way matthews breath caught in his throat as he turned around going unnoticed. his eyes traveled up your bare legs and over your chest before meeting your gaze, giving you a smile and hoping you hadn’t realized he was checking you out.
“you look great,” he smiled, and you felt a bit relieved. “now if you had some cowboy boots-“
“no way in hell. not even you could get me to wear those, matty. nice try though,” you laughed, pushing his chest softly as you walked by to put in you shoes. he silently wondered what you had meant by ‘not even you’, but didn’t question it, instead grabbing his red flannel shirt and throwing it in over his tshirt before following you out the door, trying not to think about how good your ass looked in those tiny shorts. maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all, he thought.
to say you were nervous walking into the bar was an understatement, and while you had tried your best to dress the part, you were worried you would stick out like a sore thumb. you slid your hand into matthews, and his heart skipped a beat as he pulled you behind him into the building, and towards an empty table in the back. it wasn’t too busy thankfully, but there were some people dancing already, the sound of boots on the floor mixing with the music and chatter.
“relax, why are you so nervous?” he laughed at you from across the table, reaching his hand across the table to stop yours from shaking as they sat atop the wooden surface.
“i don’t know, i just feel out of place,” you admitted.
“just breathe. you know i won’t let anything happen to you,” he smiled, amused by how nervous you were over something so small. your heart skipped a beat, and you hoped you weren’t blushing too much; but who could blame you if you were, hearing something like that.
after you and matthew each finished a few beers and the bar filled up with more people, you felt surprisingly relaxed. what was not relaxing, however, was the way your breathing stopped everytime matt’s leg brushed against yours under the table; and you weren’t sure if he was doing it on purpose or not.
“do you trust me?” he asked suddenly, a mischievous sparkle in his eyes as the corner of his mouth curled upward. you nearly choked on your drink as he glanced over at the dance floor.
“not when you look at me like that,” you admitted, but let him take your hand in his and pull you into the floor. “matty i have no idea how to dance- nevermind this kind of dancing.”
“it’s easy. if i can do it, anyone can,” he smiled. you were thankful to be off to the side of the dancefloor, with little chance of running into anyone as matt’s hands landed on your hips, his fingertips cold as they brushed against your skin where you shirt had ridden up slightly.
his breath was hot on your shoulder and he stood behind you, guiding your body forward to the music.
“you just step like this, and then to the side, tap your feet together, then step back,” he instructed, showing you slowly what to do, before the two of you repeated the steps together. “and then, when you step back this time, you can add a spin.”
your hands landed on his chest as he spun you around, and his arms circled your waist as you looked up at him. his blue eyes seemed darker thank usual as he stared down at you, but maybe it was just the shadow from his hat. did he always smell this good? you asked yourself, the close proximity allowing the scent of his cologne to reach your nose, and maybe it was just the alcohol talking, but he smelled like heaven.
“think you’ve got it?” he asked under his breath, both of you unable to break the eye contact.
“no,” you muttered. “show me again,” you requested, turning around and placing his hands back on your hips, sliding his fingertips ever so slightly into the waistband of your shorts.
“fuck,” he breathed out, so quiet you almost didn’t hear it; but you did. matt walked you through the steps again, this time leaving no space between the two of you, allowing you to feel him pressing against your backside the whole time. he spun you around, this time pulling you flush against him as you wrapped your arms around the back of his neck, your lips just centimetres apart.
“now what?” you asked, barely above a whisper as your chest rose and fell, the room suddenly feeling very warm.
“kiss me,” he requested, his eyes half lidded as your leaned up to capture his lips with your own. your mouths moved together, his tongue running along your bottom lip before slipping into your mouth as he held you tight. he groaned as you tugged at the curls that peeked out from beneath his hat at the base of his neck, before you both separated to catch your breath.
“do you teach all your dance partners that part or is that just me?”
“god, just you,” the words melted off his tongue as he kissed you again, biting at your bottom lip gently. “you have no idea how long i’ve wanted to kiss you.”
“maybe as long as i’ve wanted you to?”
“i don’t know - is that a long time?”
“yeah,” you breathed out as he kissed your neck. “matty-“ the words caught in your throat, your train of thought lost as you realized he had defiantly left a hickey below your jawline.
“do you have any idea how hot you look in those shorts? the light bouncing of your skin?” he whispered.
“i wore them for you,” you replied, suprised at the confidence you were finding. things were always easy with matthew, your friendship coming so naturally; you had a bond that nothing could ruin.
“jesus, you’re gonna get me into trouble.”
“why’s that?” you asked, looking up at him, barring your eyelashes innocently.
“because we’re in public right now, and i’m finding it really difficult to not rip those fucking shorts off you right here,” he admitted, his voice low.
“so take me home.” his eyes closed for a second, before he grabbed your hand and walked you back to your table of empty bottles and threw enough cash on the table to cover the tab three times. you couldn’t hide the smile on your flushed face as he dragged you out of the bar, his other hand calling an uber with his phone.
matthews leg shook the entire ride back to the hotel, which while in reality was only about ten minutes, felt like about three hours. his hand rested on you thigh, his calloused fingertips tracing little shapes on your skin. while still being careful not to hurt your wrist, he pulled you quickly out of the car after paying the driver and his lips were on yours the second the elevator door closed.
“matty, someone could come in any second-“
“don’t tempt me, i’ll hit the panic button and stop this damn thing-“ he nearly growled, his teeth nipping at the skin below your ear.
“relax, baby - we’re almost there,” you murmured, but silently wished that the elevator would speed up. the two of you stumbled down the hall to the doorway, matt unable to keep his hands off you the whole time, pinning you against the door as he fumbled in his pocket for the key card.
“you’re making it really hard to focus right now….” he groaned as you left a trail of kisses up the side of his neck, the door finally opening behind you and allowing matthew to push you backwards into the suite.
“is that the only thing i’m making hard?“ you asked, palming his length through his jeans that had become significantly tighter, and he nearly whimpered at your touch. usually it would take more to get that kind of reaction out of him, but you had an effect on him like no one else ever would.
“don’t tease-“ you interrupted him by connecting your lips again, trailing your hands up his chest and sliding the flannel shirt off his shoulders and letting it fall to the floor. his hands slid under your t-shirt and pulled it over your head. he took his hat off and placed it atop your head before attaching his lips to your collarbone, his hands reaching down to undo your shorts.
“you want this, right?” he said, his hands pausing as his eyes met yours, both of you breathing heavily.
“please, matty-“ you pulled his pelvis against yours by his belt loops and he groaned, his head falling back as his eyes closed and his mouth fell open slightly. “i need you.”
you helped eachother out of the rest of your clothes, tumbling to the bed with your lips still connected, hands wandering all over. you rolled on top of matt, straddling his lap as you admired how messy his curls had gotten from your hands tangling in his hair.
“what’s that song called again? save a horse, ride a cowboy?” you teased, and he smiled, sitting up and holding you in his lap, placing a kiss on your lips.
“i thought you didn’t listen to country music?” he smirked, adjusting the cowboy hat that still sat on your head.
“i’ve heard one or two songs in my lifetime,” you smiled as he kissed you deeply, tossing the hat aside as he rolled on top of you.

souvenir | part 1
summary: you're sent to summer camp for two weeks and make an unexpected friend. unfortunately, all good things come to an end, but how could you ever say goodbye to her?
word count: 2.2k
warnings: cursing
a/n: summer camp aus have me in a chokehold i fear. here's a new series!! while i still haven't finished my smau!!!!! that's ok ill finish it eventually i just had this all come to me while i was in the car on a road trip, and im so excited to write it all (❁´◡`❁)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you stepped out of the cramped-up car, stretching your limbs after the four-hour ride. your energetic young cousins ran out immediately, making their way up the hill to their cabins.
you took in the gorgeous scenery around you. you were surrounded by towering trees. the wind softly grazed the bushes as a few squirrels scurried around.
"hey hun, you alright?" your aunt snapped you out of your trance with her hand on your shoulder and worry etched on her face.
"yeah...just getting used to the altitude," you brushed her concern off, heading to the trunk to take your bags out. your aunt helped you set down your items and hugged you goodbye.
you had to admit, you were very anxious. you were staying in a cabin with other girls your age for two weeks, and you didn't know a single one of them.
"call if you need anything, i'll be here eleven am on the dot in two weeks," she gave you a smile and wave before heading down the mountain.
your cousins had been going to this camp since they were old enough to be away from their mother longer than a few days, so they knew the campgrounds like the back of their hands. you eventually found your way into the dining hall to check yourself in, approaching a tall woman with a clipboard.
"name?" she chirped.
"y/n."
the woman glanced up from her clipboard, "have you been here before? i don't recognize you. got your last name on here, though."
"no, i haven't. but you probably know my cousins. they've been going here for years."
her face lit up, "ohh those kids!" she let out a chuckle, "always getting into trouble, but so much fun to have around. well, welcome, y/n!"
the woman flipped through a stack of papers and handed you a small slip with the times of events at camp. she looked over her shoulder and beckoned someone over.
a girl, about your age, with dark hair pulled back into a messy ponytail strolled over, smiling at you.
"this is dina, she can give you a little tour," the woman's head tilted towards the camp. dina nodded and began to lead you out of the dining hall.
"hi, i'm y/n," you said while navigating around large rocks leading up to your cabin.
"nice to meet you, i'll introduce you to some of the others at the bonfire later."
you stepped into the cabin, immediately hit with the strong scent of citrus. you waved your hand in front of your nose, wincing slightly. dina chuckled at your action.
"yeah, sorry about the smell. it's just to keep the mosquitos out. chateau get's all the bugs because we're on the top of the hill. but woodrow, where i was two years ago, gets the rats, so it's better here, i guess."
your eyes widened. "that's terrifying, i hate rats. so you've been going here for a few years?"
dina nodded, guiding you to the bunks. there were only two open. one on the top near the window, and one on the bottom in the corner of the room.
"since i was six. so ten years now. do you wanna bunk with me?" she pointed to the bed on the bottom. it was embarrassing to admit, but you hated being on bottom bunks. it's been an irrational fear since you were young.
you swayed on your feet nervously, "it's dumb, but i don't like being on the bottom bunk. 'm scared it'll fall on top of me somehow."
"it's all good, i'm the same way. so you'll bunk with my friend ellie, instead. she's nice. it's her fourth year here, i think."
you hurled your bags up to the bed on top of ellie's.
"speaking of, where is everyone else right now?" you pointed out, since the cabin was completely empty.
"they're down at the lake, do you wanna go see them?"
"yeah, sounds fun."
Tumblr media
you slipped into a bathing suit and threw your towel over your shoulder, walking beside dina towards the lake. she told you about camp customs and traditions.
you laughed at the story of dina's friend, jesse, trying to swing into the lake but the rope broke, landing him in a pile of mud.
dina laughed with you, "yeah," she breathed, "not much going on up there," she knocked on her head, "but he's great."
"oh, get this! there's this thing we all do where we can send anonymous letters to people. we decorate the letters with stickers and cute hearts and send them off. people usually send love letters, but you can send them to anyone else you want."
you swerved your way through large trees, allowing your mind to wander. what would it be like to have a camp crush? maybe a summer fling? you pushed the idea down. it wasn't very likely there were other gay girls here. maybe summer love just wasn't for people like you.
dina continued, "one of the camp counselors, jeanette, got letters from this guy in the eagle cabin when she was our age. she found out it was him and they started dating. isn't that so cute?"
she nudged your shoulder after noticing you had zoned out, with your lips parted lost in thought.
"you good?"
you blinked, "mhm. i guess i'm just a bit nervous to meet your friends."
dina shook her head with a small chuckle, "don't be. i'm sure they'll like you."
the two of you approached a clearing, where you heard people laughing and water splashing.
the first person to catch your eye was a girl with auburn hair lazily pulled back into a ponytail. she wore baggy shorts with a sports bra, wrists decorated with bracelets and sharpie drawings of crude items. just when you wanted to study more of her features, she did a backflip off a towering ledge into the water, creating a splash which sent a large amount of water onto you.
dina let out a laugh, drawing the others attention to you.
a boy with jet black hair and a towel wrapped around his neck approached you, a smile on his face. there were two other girls and a boy sitting down, holding up pieces of paper with numbers written on them towards ellie who had just risen out of the water.
"fuck yeah! look dina, i got 10 out of 10!" ellie shouted towards dina, but once her eyes found you, water on your face and clothes, she pushed herself onto shore and stumbled on the dirt and wood until she was standing just in front of you.
"sorry about that. uh, i'm ellie, he's jesse," she pointed to the black haired boy beside her, "you friends with dina?"
you glanced towards dina, opening your mouth to speak, but you couldn't find the words. ellie's eyes were stuck on you, shining a beautiful green with the hot sun on her face. freckles were scattered across her face, leading all the way up to her ears, which had a star earring on her left, and moon on her left.
maybe, just maybe...you would have someone to send a letter to after all. then it hit you. this was the ellie you were sharing a bunk with for the next two weeks. living together, sleeping right next to each other.
you were fucked.
dina spoke for you, picking up that you were nervous, "it's her first year here, she doesn't know anyone except her cousins. they're the hudson twins," she wrapped her arm around your shoulder.
"oh shit, those things are your cousins?" ellie snickered, earning her a punch in the arm from one of the girl's who rose from the towels to greet you.
"be nice, ellie."
you let out a huff of air in amusement. "yeah, they're kind of crazy. i'm y/n, by the way."
each of them introduced themselves, and you found yourself smiling as you all walked back to the shoreline. you spent the next two hours swimming in the lake, jumping off ledges until you earned 10's all across the board to which you took a very proud bow, and simply laying in the sun, hearing stories from previous summers at camp.
they all sat in a circle as the sun slowly set, telling you their different perspectives on the most recent drama from last year. apparently, there was this girl who either fought or fell in love with a bear. they couldn't seem to decide which side of the story was true.
"no, she totally left out the snacks on purpose to get the bear to come to the cabin."
"maybe she was out to kill us!"
"or she wanted it all for herself..."
"ew, you're so gross!"
you all burst into a fit of giggles while jesse was genuinely contemplating how a relationship between a girl and a bear would work. you settled into comfortable silence, where you took a moment to gaze up at the sky.
"i love how you can see the stars so clearly from up here," you whispered only to yourself, but ellie heard from beside you.
the others found a new topic of conversation to argue playfully about, but ellie didn't join along with them. she stared at the starry sky above alongside you.
she hummed in agreement, "i know right, it's so beautiful," she suddenly gasped, turning to face you, "did dina tell you we have a massive telescope here? oh my god, it's amazing. you can see all the constellations and if you zoom in in the right place you can kind of see saturns rings, which is so fucking awesome—"
"ellie!" dina called her out of her ramble, "don't annoy her with all that space stuff."
"i don't mind it," you said quietly. ellie flashed you a small smile, which made your head spin for a moment. you had only just met this girl, but you were so captivated by everything about her.
"i take astronomy at my school, back at home. so i'm really into space, too," you told her.
ellie groaned, letting her head fall back. "i'm so jealous. that's the dream."
your barely noticeable grin grew wider. "yeah, it is."
Tumblr media
crickets chirped and buzzed while the lake water gently washed over rocks. the night sky had fully turned black now, yet the campgrounds were still illuminated by the bright clusters of stars above.
all of you had packed your stuff up in a frenzy once you realized you had stayed out past curfew and missed dinner. you felt like you were breaking the rules by sneaking into the kitchen to grab some snacks. you were afraid of waking up the counselers that slept above the dining hall.
a girl named cat, removed on of the butterfly pins from her hair, and slipped it into the lock. it unclipped with a quiet snap, and the door creaked open.
"maybe they shouldn't make it so easy to break into if they don't want us here," she shrugged smugly, propping open the door.
you crept around the kitchen, searching through drawers, until you found a cabinet with bags of chips and candy.
"guys, look what i found!" you whisper-shouted.
everyone crowded around the cabinet, taking whatever they wanted. once they were content with the food they picked out, you all found the dining room and sat in a booth. cat placed a flickering yellow lantern in the middle of the table.
the only sound that bounced off the walls of the hall was quiet giggles and crinkling wrappers.
you stayed in the cramped booth, effortlessly making conversation with your new friends, until you felt a yawn creep up on you.
dina took a deep breath, "it's getting late, we should head back to the cabins."
everyone agreed, shuffling out of the booth and back out the kitchen door. you parted ways in the middle of the campgrounds, waving to jesse and dean who headed down the hill to the boys cabins, while you, dina, ellie, cat, and lara made your way up the trail in the opposite direction.
"sooo," dina nudged your shoulder with her own, "how was your first half-day at camp?"
you were beaming as you replied, "it was amazing. i'm excited for the volleyball court to open tomorrow."
"ooo, and you'll meet some of the boys tomorrow," cat teased with a smirk.
you scoffed, looking down at your feet as you balanced on a trail of rocks, "boys aren't really my thing right now."
"oh right, you live pretty far away from here, huh? what did you say ?jackson? i get it, i wouldn't have a fling with any boy if i could only see him during the summer," cat said with sympathy.
you took your bottom lip into your teeth, wondering if you should tell them the real reason why boys weren't your thing. the group of girls didn't seem like they would judge you at all, and it's not like you were ashamed of your sexuality. and yet, for some reason, you bit back a response, silently promising yourself you'd allow your friends to know that part of you one day.
"yeah, exactly," you muttered.
"it's ok," lara spoke up, "there are plenty of other things to be excited about. you'll have a lot of fun."
once you reached the cabin, you quickly prepared yourself for the night and wished the girls goodnight, climbing up to your bed.
it took a while to fall asleep with all the thoughts rushing through your mind, awaiting the next day, and the thirteen more to come.

BNHA Headcanons: What kind of person they would fall in to and how they'd fall in love.
Shoto Todoroki
• Now, we all know how Shoto grew up. He didn't have a happy childhood. He's got Mommy and Daddy issues and even if he's working on it, Shoto's past would definitely affect the way he falls in love.
• He would definitely fall in love to a home maker. Someone mature, someone gentle and good with kids, a girl who's good at cooking, a girl who's soft spoken and all that.
• Shoto wants someone with a positive thinking. His childhood is full of negative vibes and events so meeting someone who's always positive would help him so much.
• Girl you're not therapy but every time he sees you, it feels like everything bad that happened didn't happen at all. Having you by his side makes him hopeful.
• He's young but Shoto is the "date to marry" kind of guy. The moment you two started dating, this kid will imagine having a family with you.
• Shoto is 100% a romantic. This is another visible reflection of his past in his life and personality. Since he saw his parents relationship, he didn't want to be anything like his Dad. He will treat you the way he wished his Mom was treated. I mean, he'll spoil you so be prepared.
• Shoto's love language? Gift giving, acts of service, words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time and everything you could ever think of. He's starving in all forms of love so please spoil him.
• 100% possessive. Not in an unhealthy way, Shoto values you so much, coz you're everything that he wants and need in his life. He's afraid that someone else will take you from him if he takes his eye off of you.
• Shoto will be 100/10 boyfie. Please be nice to him.

Shoto often wonders how it feels to fall in love. He's seen how it is in television shows and movies that his classmates watch in their free time but he's intrigued on how it happens in real life.
He didn't witness it in his own home so he have no idea.
But he started wondering about all of this because of you. Now, you're great friends and you guys get along really well. Like Deku, he can open up to you pretty easily but Shoto started feeling strange, there's something different with the way he sees you and he knows it.
It all started when he got sick. Yes, Shoto gets sick, even though it's rare. He has a hard time dealing with sickness. He would have nightmares or he would repeatedly call out for his Mom while he sleeps.
After classes, you went straight to the dorm and check up on Shoto just to see him lying on his bed as he calls his Mom over and over again, his voice cracks as if he's close to crying.
"Hey, hey, Shoto-kun. Wake up..." You whispered softly as you gently shake his shoulders to wake him up. His eyes slowly opened and he let out a small gasp of surprise as he looked up at you.
"YN? I-I what are you doing here?"
You smiled warmly and helped him get up on his bed. "Class just finished and I was gonna give you my notes but it looks like you need something else. How are you?" You asked. You were frowing for a bit, your breathing was quite heavy and your eyes were unfocused. Shoto could sense your worry so he gave you a smile to calm you down. "I'm fine, I'll be good to go to class tomorrow." You shook your head and held his hand. "You don't look fine at all. Wait for me here, alright?" Before he could even answer, you already made your way out of his room and he chuckled quietly, it's his first time seeing you panic like that.
When you went back, you were carrying a tray with food on it. "I cooked some porridge for you and I brought some meds." You told him as you place the tray in the table beside his bed. You sat on the edge of his bed, you picked up the spoon and you met his eyes. "Say 'ahh', Sho." Shoto was hesistant at first but he still opened his mouth and let you feed him.
"You know, I'm well enough to feed myself." He said after drinking some water. "I know, but I want to take care of you." You answered. Shoto looked at you as you look at the medicines you brought with you. "These are the ones recommended for someone with your quirk. I was told it's natural for you to have an unstable temperature every now and then because of your quirk. And all we can do is try and regulate your body temp." You handed him a tablet and the glass of water. Shoto just looked at it but your disappointed sigh made him take the meds from your hand.
After drinking his meds, you placed a hand on his forehead and your eyes widened when you noticed how cold he was. "Are you okay? Aren't you cold?" Shoto nods his head, "I'm good. It's just because of my quirk." He lied down and you still couldn't be at ease knowing that this happens to him. Knowing his family history, you'd know that Shoto wouldn't let anyone else help him whenever he's sick.
"Refrain from using your quirk. Even if you're cold, you can't use your fire to heat yourself up. Just wrap yourself in a blanket for now." You tucked him in before you stood up and made your way to his cabinet. Your eyes scanned his belongings, looking for particular clothes and when you saw it you whispered a small yey before you went back to Shoto's bed.
"Wear this jacket, you can just take it off once you start heating up."
Shoto finds himself feeling much better, he was listening to your stories about how the classes went today but he drifted off to sleep, it must be the medicines but the last thing he heard was you ranting about Bakugo's attitude.
You noticed Shoto's lack of response and when you looked at him, you smiled. He's finally asleep, you brushed the strands of his hair that covers his eye. You gently traced his scar and you felt bad. He's gone through so much in such a young age.
"You deserve some rest, Sho-kun." You whispered before leaning down to kiss his forehead.
It was only one of the many occasions that you've made Shoto feel like he's so worthy to be love and taken care of. He was not used to that kind of kindness and gentleness, he didn't know how to react properly but he just finds himself wanting more of your love and care.
He was injured after a villain attack. It was nothing major and serious but you showed up on the school's clinic after he got treatment for Recovery Girl, you were bawling your eyes out, checking him up as you look for any injuries.
"I'm fine, stop crying."
"Stop charging towards the enemy like that! You didn't know their quirks but they know yours! You wouldn't know if they can—" he hugged you tightly to shut you up. He's smiling, he's smiling like a goddamn idiot as he felt you bury your head on his neck, still crying, whispering how worried you were and he loved it. He loved how you fit so perfectly in his arms on that moment.
"Hush now, my love. I'm safe."

Oh I have an idea with related to the sequel to Yandere Shadow Milk Cookie with the power of Hypnotism
In general, after defeating Shadow Milk Cookie
T/N Cookie and his friends are coming home
After that, T/N Cookie hears some voices calling you, it's the Shadow Milk cookie that sealed it
Pure Vanilla Cookie arrives and asks if she's okay.
Answered fine. Pure Vanilla was going to visit friends.
Night came, and they all went to bed, and T/N Cookie also
In her dream, she had blue eyes that reminded her of the Shadow Milk Cookie
Shadow Milk cookie wanted it to be all mine, after that stares the hypnotic eyes of the Shadow Milk Cookie.
I hope you enjoy the milkshake. Ah yes the ptsd part of having a yandere 😌
The after effects of Yandere Shadow Milk Cookie
-platonic or romantic insinuation-
!TW! Under the cut are themes like trauma, wanting someone dead and possessiveness (the last two happen at the end)
First part
After the what happened at the faerie kingdom, you and Pure Vanilla decided to head back to the Vanilla Kingdom, you trusted Gingerbrave and his friends could handle themselves
The trip back was tense, you and Pure Vanilla didn’t talk that much.
But once you two got back you started to talk again
It was clear something happened to you to while you were gone and the radon villagers were worried
So they decided to try and cheer you and Pure Vanilla up by making you some raisin bread!
You both appreciated the gesture
But once you got back to your room in the Vanilla castle you lied down on your bed and just looked up at the ceiling.
The world was slightly spinning… probably an after effect of your reality getting morphed right in front of your eyes…
But something took you out of your peaceful trance.
Laughter
His laughter
You instinctively grabbed a pillow and threw it at the direction you heard his laughter
But nothing. The pillow just hit the wall with a soft thud.
After a minute you heard a knock on your door, you got up and opened it. Pure Vanilla was there
“Y/N Cookie are you alright? I thought I should check on you after what happened”
You didn’t admit it but you were relieved to hear his voice but you told him that you were fine just shaken up, you asked his he was holding up as well
“Oh well I’m still a little shocked at what happened… but I think I just need a little time”
You nodded, as Pure Vanilla bided a goodbye
You were alone again…
Later that night in your slumber… you had a dream… no not a dream… a nightmare
Laughter was all you could hear, your body was tied up by blue strings wrapped around you limbs, making you move like a puppet
But the most notable thing was his eyes
You couldn’t look away from them, they were hypnotic
But your last straw was his voice…
“Welcome back dear!~”
You jolted awake. It was just a nightmare… thank goodness…
You heard a knock on your door though… strange it was the middle of the night…
You got up and opened the door to once again be greeted by Pure Vanilla
“Y/N Cookie, I’m sorry to be bothering you this late but I was coming back from my study and I heard a commotion… is everything alright?”
You usually wouldn’t tell people about your nightmares… but Pure Vanilla went through something similar…
You told him to come in as you sat on the bed, Pure Vanilla joining you
You started to talk about your nightmare, describing everything you could remember. Pure Vanilla just listened to you and once you were done gave you the comfort you needed
It was nice to have some who could some what relate to you…
Shadow Milk cookie watched on as you told Pure Vanilla about the nightmare you had… if only Shadow Milk could have actually been in your sweet dreams…
But when Pure Vanilla started to comfort you…. His blood boiled…
THAT should be HIM not some WANNABE POSER
Oh if Shadow Milk could communicate with Pure Vanilla he would be screaming at him
But when you hugged Pure Vanilla once he was done comforting you.. he wanted to make Pure Vanilla in to a pile of crumbs… no… not crumbs…. DUST
But Shadow Milk could only watch as you and Pure Vanilla talked…

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY
ex jay, gn reader (dating an unnamed guy), ~ 700 words . reader moving on / is jay's one who got away . part 2 to feels different . requested by anon !
Moving on from Jay took a while.
Or, rather, moving on from the idea of him and who he was before he started cheating took a while. He’d been a perfect boyfriend, essentially, and it was hard to reconcile who you loved with what he did.
It also took a while to feel ready to date again.
You weren’t hung up on him, didn’t want him back, but you were falling back in love with alone time and being your own best company — going to restaurants and cafes, on trips, and trying things on a whim.
It was fun to not have to wait on anyone else or compromise. It was about what you wanted, and sparked a lot of joy in your life.
It was maybe around the new year you felt ready to get back into the dating pool, but it wasn’t an active search.
Around June was when you found someone new, at a pottery class. You both wanted to use the same glaze and ended up working side by side, talking about whatever came to mind.
Easy conversation like that — that wasn’t with family or friends — was something you hadn’t experienced in a while, and when he finally asked you out a while later, you couldn’t stop grinning.
He was sweet, treated you like royalty, and was a good communicator.
Both of you trusted one another completely, and it was nice to not worry about his friends and if he wanted more with them. Mainly because he sent you text updates during the day if there was anything fun to report, and always walked you through his day when he saw you next so you were in the loop, and because he wanted to tell you everything.
There wasn’t a chance he wasn’t thinking about you or that he didn’t care.
You were always on his mind.
He also knew what Jay did, and was extra careful to reassure you if he was gone for longer hours than normal or acting differently — like the time there was a surprise party he was throwing you with the help of one of your mutual friends. He knew it looked suspicious, and they made sure you felt comfortable without letting you catch on to the party plans.
Maybe a year and a half into dating him, you run into Jay while shopping together.
It’s awkward, and you barely acknowledge him, focusing instead on finding the best watermelon for a picnic date you two were going on the next day.
“(Y/n),” Jay calls when you start to walk away, and you hesitate. “How are you?”
You frown.
“I’m good,” you lean into your boyfriend’s side and glance at Jay, his face creased with some frustration when you don’t say more. When your boyfriend squeezes your side, whispers a gentle “talk to him, babe,” you continue. “How are things?”
“You know, same old, same old… work is work.” He swallows, scuffs his feet on the cracked white tiles underfoot. “You were right, by the way.”
You smile politely at him and wait.
“That what I was feeling was just the butterflies. It didn’t feel different after all.”
“Ah,” you hum. “Well, I hope it gets better for you and you find your person. It’s nice, when you find the right one. I’m sure you’ll know. It’s easy.” You glance at your phone and smile at Jay weakly. “We have to get going, his mom’s coming over for lunch.”
Jay’s smile doesn’t really reach his eyes. “Of course, have a nice lunch.”
Your boyfriend checks in on how you feel running into Jay when you’re in the car — and you tell him, honestly, that you’re fine, not that bothered.
“I have my person now, anyways. He had me, he blew it. And I’m glad he did because I have you,”
He laughs softly and pecks your lips. “Thank you, baby. I’m glad I have you too. Though I’m sure he’s mad that you’re the one that got away. He missed out on the whole package.”
You giggle. “You really think that highly of me?”
“Always,”

Worth My Time
I do believe that i have corrected my mistakes. I've gone through a few times and double checked. I do tend to drift into first person so if it says 'me' let me know and I can fix it. I also haven't written anything in a while so I'm a little rusty. I'm not sure if I can make a part two to this or not but I can try and if y'all like it I can post it. I'm not a smut writer by any means so I can't do that, sorry. But either way, have fun !
Word Count : 1.6k Mattheo X Hufflepuff Reader
Tumblr media
You swore after him you would never let another guy in. Not after the heartbreak he left you with. He was sweet and caring, everything you had wanted from a guy. But things didn't seem to work out. It was not a mutual break by any means. You didn't want to let him go. It didn't help that you were in the same house so you were bound to see each other every once in a while. You didn't hate him, not even a little bit. You resented yourself for falling so hard and getting so caught up in your feelings. From that night on you swore to yourself that you would never let anyone get that close, you would never feel that way again.
After a while you started to get back into the social life of Hogwarts. You attended almost all of the house parties and smaller ones that your friends held. The Slytherin parties attracted you the most. They knew how to throw real parties. You often got tipsy or drunk and found yourself waking up on the common room sofas, sometimes in the room of your latest fling. You never felt more free. No one was there to hold you back and you didn't have to worry about hurting anyone's feelings.
Tonight was another Slytherin party, they beat Gryffindor in the quidditch match earlier. You quickly ready before heading to the common room.
"My dearest Y/n. Always a pleasure to see you." Theo Nott greeted you. "Always a pleasure to be invited my love." You kissed his cheek and walking into the party. You and Theo were a reoccurring flight. You found it more interesting that way. Always a steamy make out session and a little more, never sex though. You didn't like the idea of being easy and letting anyone claim you like that.
"Enzo! Fire Whiskey for one please ?" You gave him a soft smile. "One fire whiskey for our Hufflepuff coming up." He handed you a shooter. "Whose your victim tonight?" You both stood back from the dance floor. "Guess we'll find out. You know I never coming looking for someone." You took your shot and made a face. You never liked the harsh alcohols. You liked the sweeter and more toned down drinks like mimosas. "Looks to be whoever gets to you first." He glanced at you. "Depends on if I deem them worth my time." You shrugged. "Everyone must be worth your time then." "I choose not to see it that way Enzo, It does no good. Better to turn a blind eye at my actions and enjoy myself." I turned to him. "So it seems. Such a dangerous reputation for a Hufflepuff you know. Not so sweet and loyal as you'd think, huh?" He smiled. "Judging a book by its cover." You handed him the empty bottle and made your way to the dance floor. You had no idea who you were dancing with but there was never enough time to figure it out because every time you looked back there was a new person.
"Y/n. You are looking good tonight." Draco grabbed you by your waist. "Oh well thank you." You danced rather closely to him. He was your 'victim', as most called them, last party. "You could have woke me up before you left. Could have let me properly thank you." He talked in your ear. The music was rather loud tonight. "I never stay long Draco. You know that, besides I like to make a quick get away. Staying any long could lead to feelings." "Right of course. Can't let anyone hold you back." You could see the annoyance in his face, but just like that it was gone. Draco doesn't show emotions often but when he does it's hardly anything nice. "Maybe next time you'll stay for a little?" "Might be a while before there's next time Draco. I'm not looking for anything serious, you were fun though." He nodded and went onto a new girl after the song ended.
You left the dance floor and made your way to the group of Slytherins playing cards.
"Pansy my love !" You hugged her and looked at her cards. "Good set I think." You whispered. "Indeed. Any contesters for tonight ?" She smirked and played one of her cards. "Really Parkinson? Setting me up for failure !" Blaise groaned. "Only the greatest play Zabini. Can't handle then let Y/n take your place. She manages to win almost every time." She laughed. "Not every time. I've lost a couples here and there ? Not fun." You smiled. You looked around the table to see who was playing. A few Gryffindors, two Ravenclaws, and a bunch of Slytherins.
"10 o'clock. Who is that?" You studied the boy. You knew a few Slytherins and he looked to be in your year. You grew to knew almost everyone in your year by this time. "Mattheo Riddle. Thinking of picking him up tonight?" Pansy turned her head to you. "Need him on the dance floor first. You know my ruse. He could be fun though." You played a card for her. "No no no! Pansy that's cheating, she is not allowed to play for anyone." Theo pointed. "Let's look at your hand then Theo. I'm sure you won't complain if I played a round for you." You walked to the other side of the table. He was sitting next to this Mattheo character. "I think I could work with this T. How do you want to play?" You took his cards and traded seats with him. "Play to win darling." He stood up and pushed the chair in for you.
It took a couple rounds for you to get into the grove. You knew how Blaise , Pansy, and Enzo played. It took a minute for you to pick up on the others. But you couldn't figure out Mattheo's angle, and you two seemed to be fighting to win.
"Looks like you have some competition Y/n." Theo smirked. "Such little faith in me Theo? Checkmate." You played your best card and sat back. You had him, he had a slim chance of out playing you. "I think Theo is right." Mattheo played his card and ended the game. You stared at the card as everyone whooped and hollered that a newbie had beaten you. Everyone moved out of the table and let a new group take their places.
"Y/n. But I'm sure you've learned that." You grabbed a drink from Enzo and winked to him. "Mattheo, but I'm sure Pansy told you." He smirked. "I like to size up my opponents." You smiled. "You didn't do too good of a job then. The grand master was beat." He took your drink from Enzo. "You're not at heartless as you think you are." He looked at you. "You don't know me." You leaned against the bar. Enzo watched eagerly, most of the boys try to impress you and make good impressions. "You don't think? You're not an original. A girl who gets her heart broken then goes off on a hookup spree? I've heard about you Y/n." He smirked. "Exactly. You've only heard about me. That doesn't mean you know me." You turned and headed back to the dance floor.
"He's a cutie ain't he ?" Pansy giggled. "He's something that's for sure." Most of the boys you talk to aren't as hard to break. Usually a few minutes of talking and they're ready to go. But Mattheo was gonna put up a fight, that made him different a quite desirable. If there was one thing you could get, it would be boys, and that made it even more fun when they acted like they didn't want you.
Pansy and Daphne kept handing you drinks and pulling you around the dance floor. A few of the guys tried to get you off the floor but you weren't ready to leave, no one seemed to interest you. The night kept going on and on, guy after guy. Finally you ended up with Mattheo again. But not before the line of Slytherin boys.
"Back again Y/n?" Mattheo kept you close. "Looks to be that way doesn't it Riddle?" You swayed back and fourth. Your mind was already a little frazzled and your eyes were starting to bug out. "Rumor has it you're waiting for me to give you the green light." He pulled you closer. "I always have a back up if you don't." You smirked. "Do you ? Because your back up just left with a Ravenclaw." He nodded to Theo trailing after a girl. "So he did, Then it looks like you still have time" You lightly grinded up against him. "There are a dozen other guys here who are waiting for you to give them the opportunity. What are you waiting for ?" He returned the gesture. "I'm sure the boys have told you my tactics. I've got to make sure you're worth my time." His hand on my waist tightened slightly. "But from the way this is going..." You leaned up to his ear and whispered, "I think you might be." "Let me show you then." He whispered back.
It did take a few more songs before you ended up making out while dancing, high with tension. Then after flirting and a drink or two you went off to his dorm. As you climbed the stairs you heard Blaise yell, "There they go !! Riddle and Y/n are off!!" There was a burst of cheers and drinks being thrown as you ran up the stairs to Mattheo's dorm.

hi! can i req when beom gives u silent treatment?
I hope this turned out how you wanted it to :)
when he gives you silent treatment
-
A quiet Beomgyu was never a good sign. He was usually bouncing off the walls and you could hear his bright laugh from miles away. So when you came home late to an unusually quite house after getting side tracked with friends, you were surprised and a bit scared. At first you thought maybe your boyfriend was not home, but then you saw his shoes neatly lying next to the door. He was definitely home. So now you had to find him.
"Gyu? I'm home!" was your first attempt to get his attention. But you were just met with the silence again. Slowly you made your way through the house, checking each room to see if he was there. It was only when you reached your bedroom and you slowly opened the door that you saw him.
Beomgyu was sitting on the bed with his phone in his hand. He was staring straight ahead, not even acknowledging you.
"Baby?" you tried again. Still nothing.
"I'm sorry I'm late," you started off. You kept your distance and slowly walked over to the opposite side of the bed he was on.
"You know how Y/F/N gets. She started a story and then we were there for another hour," you tried to say it lightly, however, Beomgyu didn't even glance at you. Now you knew for sure this was why you were getting the silent treatment.
"You won't believe what she told us though," you glanced at him quickly, "You know she was seeing that Hongdae boy she met a few weeks ago."
You knew your boyfriend was just as invested in the gossip stories as you, so you tried getting him to speak like this. You could see it working already as he pretended to be on his phone even when you could tell he was listening intently now.
"So they were going on a date last week, but he just ghosted her a few hours before they had to meet," you sighed, it was time for the money shot.
"I mean, I was surprised. He seemed like such a nice guy," you turned to look at him for his reaction. However, your boyfriend beat you to is as he immediately sat up and nearly crashed into you.
"What do you mean you thought he was nice? You said you hated him a few days ago!" he said with a big frown and pout to go with it.
You really tried your best but you couldn't hold the laughter in. A small giggle escaped you as you finally looked Beomgyu in the eyes.
"First, are you going to give me more silent treatment or have I served my time?" your eyes glinted as you asked him.
Beomgyu's face fell into a straight line. He narrowed his eyes at you as he pondered the question, "Do you really think he is nice?"
"No, Gyu, I don't think so. He is an asshole," you said confidently.
Before you registered it, Beomgyu grabbed you and pulled you down to lie with him.
"Okay, I forgive you then," he sighed happily.
You giggled as you got comfortable. A few moments of silence followed before Beomgyu's soft voice filled the room again, "Did you at least have fun?"
"Yeah, kind of. Y/F/N was a mess afterwards so we all had to comfort her a bit. I think she's okay now," you replied, "I missed you though. I'm sorry I didn't message you earlier to let you know." You snuggled further into your boyfriend's side.
Instead of responding, Beomgyu just pulled you closer and left a kiss on your head. He was silent for a while before he spoke again. "It's okay. I was just worried about you. You weren't answering my calls and I was panicking."
You pulled away slightly to look up at his face. You smoothed out his hair as you talked, "I really am sorry. I didn't think about how you were going to feel."
He smiled at you gently, "Next time, I need hourly updates and your live location at all time."
You giggled at his idea, "It's a deal."
The two of you stared at each other for a few seconds, the love between you two evident.
"And I'm sorry I gave you the silent treatment," Gyu said hurriedly before pulling you in for a kiss. You couldn't even protest as his lips met yours already. You gave in instantly though, immediately melting in his arms.

#Mailroom Open! If you still have open slots/want to do this <3
I'd like this letter to go to Tighnari, please and thank you! Subtle yandere and SFW. Thank you again!
The contents of the letter are as follows:
"Tighnari!
Things have been absolutely marvelous in Mondstadt. Your idea to visit my family was genius. It's been a long time since I've been back home. My mother asked why you didn't accompany me, isn't that cute? She called you her future son in law.. Then asked when we'd be giving her grandbabies.
I have been missing you to pieces though, my love. You would love a few of my friends over here, they're interested to learn more about you! Well.. aside from one. He seemed a bit upset when I gushed about you. But never mind that! How are things back home with you? How is Collei? Please let her know that Amber sends her regards. But most importantly! How are you?
I also hope that the package I sent gets to you safely. I thought you'd really appreciate my finds.
Love you so much!
-♡"
The package itself is smaller in size, yet still larger than the envelope sent. Inside the box are new glass storage jars, made for storing herbs and spices. Aside from the jars, there's a hand woven bracelet. It matches with Tighnari's typical attire, and is woven in order to prevent fraying or breakage. There's another, tiny sticky note at the bottom of the box with a doodle of Tighnari and his partner. They're stick figures and holding hands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
꩜ Letter Content: GN! Reader x Slight Yan! Tighnari, SFW, no gendered terms for reader, possessiveness from Tighnari, lmk if I missed out anything ! ꩜ Delivery Notes: Tighnari was absolutely covered in pollen when I picked up his package in Sumeru, HAHA! However, judging from his droopy ears and tail, I think he really misses you :( ꩜ Wanna write a love letter yourself? Check out it out here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sent back to you is a small, lovingly handmade, woven basket that you recognise to be the handiwork of Tighnari. Weaved between the strips of dried Kalpalata lotus vines are cute tiny flowers native to the forested area around Gandharva Ville. There’s a ribbon tied around the handle in your favourite colour that’s lightly scented with the perfume of Sumeru roses.
A dark green fabric that matches his fur colour sits nicely atop the contents of the basket, it’s embroidered with the stick figure drawing of you and Tighnari. The Tighnari stick figure is made of thread in a light emerald green that’s the colour of his eyes while your doodle is woven in a gorgeous shade identical to yours. There are extra little hearts floating around the two of you in the embroidered picture too, how cute!
Removing the embroidered cloth cover from the basket, you first take his letter out. Reaching into the envelope, the first thing you pull out is pressed Nilotpala lotus petals. They retain a delicate faint glimmer of how they shone when they bloomed at night and infuse the parchment in the envelope with their light floral scent. His reply is written in his usual scrawling handwriting you see in his research journals but there's an underlying tenderness present. You think he makes a noticeable effort to ensure that his words are more legible, especially just for you. His response reads:
Tumblr media
“My dearest lotus,
It’s about time you wrote back! Just before I got your letter, I was going to mail you a lengthy lecture regarding important safety tips while one is travelling. Really, with your extended silence, I was worried about you for a bit, lotus. It's good to hear you're enjoying your time in Mondstadt with your family though, how’s the flora diversity there? I do hope you bring me back some flower and mushroom samples.
Collei too sends Amber her very enthusiastic regards, she was so excited at the mention of Amber, the way her eyes lit up was precious, I wish you were there to see it, lotus. Now, I’m sure with your keen eye you’ve noticed all the flowers included in the basket. I can’t take all the credit, it was Collei who helped to collect the flowers for the basket. She came back with so many that we spent almost a whole afternoon just picking out the best ones for you. Seriously, you should’ve seen the way she came into the hut with her arms full of flowers, I didn’t even know how she could see in front of her!
Also, new jars! You know me so well, how did you figure out I was running out of them? Gods, thinking about the hassle of procuring them gave me such a headache. You really are my saviour, gods, I miss you so much… Please come back soon, lotus, I’m getting sick of longing for you. Your lovely handmade bracelet has done well in curbing the urge to go over to Mondstadt to sweep you back up in my arms. It’s beautiful and I appreciate all the work you put into such a sweet gift, lotus. I’d never take off the bracelet, ever.
I’d hate to nag but do take care of yourself alright, it worries me to be so far away from you. (this part is written in a small font, but squinting, it reads out) Especially where you can meet with all sorts of people… and that friend of yours you mentioned. Ugh, I feel my headache coming back.
Help me pass my well wishes on to your mother, and tell her that calling me her “future son-in-law” is not too far off from the truth. Write more often to me alright, lotus? Hearing from you helps keep my longing in check. Come back soon!
Ever awaiting your return,
-Tighnari -”
Tumblr media
Tucked underneath, is a sealed bag of dried mushrooms, the kind that Tighnari favours the most. It warms your heart to know that he’s willing to part with the stash of his favourite shrooms to make sure you’re eating well in another region. Tacked on are some collated recipes for the ingredient, with little notes scribbled in the margins on how the default recipe can be improved after gathering feedback from many many many rounds of him cooking it for you. Everything is so sappily domestic that you’re sure your mother would coo over how adorable the two of you are when she finds out about his gift.
And finally, there’s a small box at the side, crafted in the form of a lotus using expertly preserved Kalpalata lotus petals. Gingerly opening up the petals reveals an exquisite ring resting in the centre, woven from sturdy plant stems entwined with golden fibres that almost seem to shine. The stems are fortified with a sheer shimmer of dendro (no doubt Tighnari’s) so that it endures, staying evergreen. Included is a tag reading: “A temporary placeholder for an engagement ring, so that no pest steals you from my side while you’re away ♡”
Slipping it on, it fits perfectly, snugly home on your ring finger. You’ve never told him your ring size though, lucky guess?
