hongjoong- it was official, you went to the worst school in history. for weeks you had heard whisperings from other students about how the school was going under and they were cutting back on departments, you didn’t know which ones but honestly you just wrote the whole thing off as idle gossip. that was, until one of your closest friends heard it from a professor. then, d-day. it was madness. you kept hearing about some of your most favorite professors being laid off and that’s when the worst happened. you were asked to meet with your academic advisor and told that your entire department would be removed and worked into another department. after the best semester of your life, you finally feeling you had found your purpose and calling, it was all crumbling down around you. hongjoong was in the studio super late when he got the tearful phone call. it worked out that hongjoong didn’t have any other promotions and was at a place with the album where he could pass it off to maddox and leedz to finish. he got on the first plane he could and soon enough you were crying in his arms. “joong, i don’t know what to do. i was just starting to feel like this was what i was meant to do… now it’s all over.” you sobbed. hongjoong held you tight against his chest, pressing kisses to the top of your head. he let out a sigh before speaking, “i’m so sorry, baby.” he just let you cry, releasing all the pain and confusion into his strong embrace. when you finally felt like it was out of your system, he lifted your chin to look at him. “i know it’s all confusing right now and that it seems like everything is over, but i wanna tell you that it’s not. you have so many options. there are times in life when you feel like you’re on the right path and things are really good then something happens. that doesn’t mean you weren’t on the right path or maybe you were just on the wrong way of getting there. this school may not be for you anymore and maybe you can try seoul!” he lightened his tone, making you laugh through the tears. “but things in life aren’t meant to stay the same. things happen and change. it’s scary but i know you’re brave enough to get through all of it and figure out what’s best for you. but when you find your purpose and it feels right, keep chasing that feeling, wherever it takes you.” hongjoong finished with a sympathetic smile and kiss to both of your cheeks. he always knew what to say to make you feel better. even though things seemed bleak right now, you knew that you could always manage them… especially with hongjoong cheering you on.

jongho- starting senior year was something you looked forward to pretty much since exams of freshman year. you wondered how you could take four more years of this but somehow you managed to make it all the way to the end… almost. the final year of classes was brutal to say the least. all of your hardest classes were, of course, pushed off to the very end and you were being tested in the field you would hopefully be working in some day. it was a lot of pressure. adding to the stress was the impending doom of actually finding a job in the career you’d chosen. you would no longer be under the safety blanket of studying the field but rather on the tightrope of actually managing to work in the real world. it was all too much for you and in the weeks before your final final exams, you shut down. you couldn’t eat, you couldn’t sleep, all you could do was lay in your bed and worry. jongho was used to you not texting as much, especially when exams were coming up, but when his messages were going unread and his calls unanswered, he started to worry. then when your family was calling him asking about you, he knew he had to check on you. when he spoke to hongjoong and the rest of the boys and management about it, they agreed to let him go. the whole plane ride, he was anxious to see what awaited him, preparing for the worst… but nothing could have prepared him for the state you were in. opening the door to your dorm room nearly broke his heart. he found you wrapped in your comforter, eyes hollow and sunken, staring off into the distance. “baby…” he spoke softly to get your attention. “jongho? what are you doing here?” you finally snapped out of your stupor and sat up in your bed, still wrapped in your blanket. he didn’t answer your question, it wasn’t important to him, and if you were honest, you knew the answer. jongho quietly kicked off his shoes and crawled into the bed with you, pulling you tightly into his arms, rocking you back and forth as you finally broke down. he didn’t say a word as you sobbed, letting all the pressure that had built up finally release. “i’m just so scared, jjong. what if i can’t do it? what if i fail? i can’t do this, i can’t be out in the real world!” you rambled out all your fears, and he just let you. it was so comforting to just say all of this out loud and not feel judged or like your fears were anything but valid. jongho was really good at that. you could say anything and he was completely solid. he was your rock through some of your hardest times and you were so glad he came because you didn’t even realize just how much you needed him. jongho didn’t say anything right away, he pressed soft kisses to your face and head as quiet reassurances. after a few beats of silence he finally spoke up. “i’m so proud of you.” he said softly. “what?” you looked up at him confused, but he was completely sure. “i’m proud of you. you’ve made it through college and you’ve done the very best you could. you worked hard and got both good grades and some not good grades but you made it and gave it your all. the fact that you’re so upset right now just shows how much this all means to you.” he paused to kiss your lips softly. “i know you’ll succeed in whatever you do. whether you get a job in what you’ve been studying these last four years or something completely different. if you graduate and everything changes, that’s ok too. you’re going to do so well in this life and i’m happy to be next to you while you do it.” jongho finished and smiled warmly at you. you buried your face in his chest again as his arms wrapped around you tighter. for the rest of the evening he took care of you which put you in the best place to finish the term out strong.

Sorry for replying so late! This topic is not something I've explored a lot. So it gave me some thinking to do. It’s not incredibly organized but hey \o/

I like to think his relationship with luso nations is mostly positive nowadays. But of course it wasn't always so. Port may have had severe attachment issues despite trying to play it cool every time one of them decided to "storm out the door". Because that's what it felt like to him. 'Oh so you're leaving, then. Fine.'🙄 When in reality we all know he felt like shit for a while. He tried to keep his kids close to the very end of the 20th century (1999 with Macau!) always believing he was in the right. Think a little, Port. ;;;; I know living under a past glorifying dictatorship for so long did not help. Fortunately I think his mind started to clear near the 60s and since then he's been trying his utmost best to undo his wrongs even if he knows it’s not totally possible and that he'll never be 100% forgiven. He accepts this and moves on.

On a lighter note, he loves all of the luso nations equally but he likes to say Macau is his favourite because it makes Brazil pout melodramatically. You don't see any of the others have this reaction. He's just messing with you Lu. He's going to squeeze your cheeks next! I think he's one of those dads... he trolls too much and thinks his dad humour is incredible and understandable by everyone. What's a generational gap? If you don't think it's funny then he's happy to laugh at his own jokes.

Yes he messes with them but he's also very proud of their growth. I don't buy him being insecure about their achievements in comparison to his. He knows he's old and it's their time to shine now. He's very supportive! And very caring. He keeps in touch often.

He has a lot of respect for Angola. She has centuries of knowledge and life experience on him (he knows she can deck him without breaking a sweat 🙃) Tbh I'd love to hear these two chatting about whatever topic because they're both so wise. Port is also happy to be schooled.

They ALL make fun of his accent. He replies by showing them a different one every time it happens or just laughs it off. One time he changed to Brazilian Portuguese mid sentence (he's very good with accents and languages in general) and it was so seamless that everyone just. 🧍

Luci still said it was terrible. Actually so cringe. 🤢

If there is one topic that everyone can agree on is that the food is amazing at any of their places. Not a single bad cook in this family. They pass recipes around all the time.

I want to read fic where Port and Cape Verde go surfing together. Or sailing. Or fishing. I know this seems so very specific but. 🥺 They both love the sea so much. I think it'd be adorable. I also think it's one of his favourite vacation spots.

And speaking of Portugal and Cape Verde, I want to believe Fado and Morna are connected in some way. Not sure how. They're both eerily similar in their melancholy. (I had a boyfriend that was Cape Verdean and I remember theorizing about this topic aaa) This video explains it pretty well. It’s in portuguese, though. Maybe they can sing sad songs together. ;v;

Mozambique is used to Port just straight up showing up unannounced and it's because he wants to see the elephants. He won't even say hi first noooo. Squashed by a baby elephant and its angry mom. /SIGH which hospital is he at this time. I thought it was Cape Verde's turn to have him this year.

watching lewis just sitting in his car, struggling to climb out… mercedes, your days are numbered!! also it’s soo messed up that no one was allowed to help him out? feels like there should be exceptions for this kind of thing. reminds me of that clip we saw yesterday of lewis standing by to support one of the ferrari drivers as they exited their car.

honestly i’m not saying the fia has to roll back these new regulations (would love it if they did tho), but maybe they could pass something re: driver safety? idk, something like if the frequency and severity of the porpoising is above xyz, the ride height has to be increased until the porpoising is back under the limit.

the merc team isn’t going to raise the ride height if they can help it, and honestly… i don’t think lewis is going to be the one to put his foot down on this. don’t get me wrong, i hope that he does and i think that he should, but i don’t think he’d want to ‘let people down’ (which is suuuuuch bs. someone give him a hug and something warm to drink). based on this, i really do think the fia need to step in, at least in some capacity. teams didn’t want to install halos on their cars either, but now i think we can all universally agree that it’s a literal life saver.

my little #IllegalRedBull comment was mostly meant in good fun, but honestly… you’re right. even if they were doing something weird, the fia would probably help them cover it up l m a o 🙃🔫

god yeah it was difficult to watch :/ as for no one being allowed to touch him, those are parc ferme rules apparently, you can't touch the drivers before weigh-in. def agree there should be exceptions though, like when you see someone clearly struggling.

i doubt the fia will do much unless everyone makes more noise. they've proven that they don't actually give a shit about drivers' safety this season, they just care about enforcing stupid rules about petty shit like underwear and jewelry. they won't do shit to actually make racing safer. yeah, they enforced the halo and that turned out to be a brilliant decision, but that was an overall change across the board. right now, unless every single team complains about it, i don't think the fia will do much. it's easy to pass it off as an only merc problem (which it absolutely is not) instead of a problem with the new regs, 'cause then they can just say "well maybe you just suck and should've built a better car" instead of "yes we acknowledge this is a problem and we're trying to fix it to ensure everyone's health and safety."

i agree, i don't think merc will increase ride height unless there's literally nothing else for it. i've heard rumors they're keeping reserve drivers ready in case lewis isn't ok to race next week, but that doesn't solve the issue, does it? that just makes the porpoising someone else's problem.

oh anon i wish the drivers would strike :/ but i don't think they will. it's difficult enough getting them all to agree on one thing. even now, every single one of them agreed the porpoising is a problem but alonso disagreed. also, a lot of them (especially the younger ones) won't strike because there's always the fear of being replaced. it's not like there's a dearth of talented drivers waiting to make it into formula 1. with the exception of a couple of people on the grid, every single one of them is replaceable. and team principles and CEOs won't hesitate to threaten them with that if they don't toe the company line. not to mention that even when they all do agree on one thing, they get threatened into shutting up and going along with what the higher-ups want (jeddah).

i don't know what's going to happen next week. i'm really concerned for them all. lewis's insta post where he said that it looked terrible and felt 100x worse... God. none of this is acceptable. none of this is okay. i don't give one flying fuck about points and positions and victories if that means compromising the drivers' health and safety. and you're right that lewis himself probably won't refuse to drive (unless he's REALLY unwell i suppose). he's been struggling the entire season in that shitbox of a car. he knows fans wanted him to have a comeback this season and make up for abu dhabi last year. he probably wanted that too. and now it doesn't seem likely he'll win that 8th this year but he's still trying his best to do what he can to score points. lewis is not the kind of person to take himself out of a fight before it's over. i just hope he's being taken care of, that he's resting, and that something is done about this bullshit before a driver gets the kind of injury they can't come back from, God forbid.

I forgot to add. You don't even need to follow the original storyline, your oc/story can just take place in that universe. Use your imagination and have fun with it. (It doesn't have to be canon).

Write something you haven't seen others write about or write something that you want to personally read. Do or read something that inspires you, you can even pick a topic for that week and brainstorm ideas or create dot points of the first things you think of at the top of your head (about the topic) and then expand on it, go wild. (This could help if you have writers block.)

For example you can use hogwarts au's & turn it into a death eater au, you don't have to stop it at being students. You can turn camp half-blood au's into just a demi-god au (research greek mythology, they have lots of history/stories, you can base your fic/storyline about or around them). Maybe even base your story around your favourite anime/movie or series 🤷‍♀️. Or maybe even write a cafe/bakery, band, dancer, sports (boxing, volleyball, basketball, etc) or even a manager au (depending on what job you want then to specialize in). You can even write something about a popular kid and nerd or something similar.

You can even use soulmate au's, those are rarely seen these days too. Example the oc's soulmate is a criminal 🤷‍♀️. You can even combine different au's and create new ones. Like the oc can be apart of the mafia & their soulmate is a detective (mafia/detective + soulmate au). They can even be a hacker.

Add horror, thriller, mystery, illnesses (please research it if you want to use it tho & add trigger warnings for readers) or even fantasy elements (fairies, witches, werewolves, vampires, etc). You can make an au with these already. Your oc doesn't even have to be a hero they could be a villain, antihero/femme fatale or protagonist.

You can also use idol au's by making the oc a hairstylist/hairdresser, makeup artist, staff member, photographer, a director or producer. One of my favs is by @bbugyu's dlst & her food vlogger au Classic.

The oc can also be a chef, ceo, youtuber/streamer/gamer and their s/o can be an idol or a cafe worker or it could be the other way around, switch it up 🤷‍♀️. Maybe they're doing the same job & they're rivals or lovers from the beginning of the story.

Basically they can be anything you want them to be. Example Oc & s/o are both gamers and they're lovers from the beginning of the story or they could be in rival teams, maybe enemies to lovers, you can make it slowburn. It depends on which direction you want it to go in. You can even do something like @joyofkinoko's Budget Ghostbusters or @soobnny's Twitch Rivals.

Anyways these are just examples of things I don't see a lot anymore or it's just rarely done. Just for the record I can't write to save my life & this is also a way for me to recommend other blogs 🙃. Sorry for ranting & for how long this was (sorry if there's mistakes/doesn't make sense)!!💕

oO yeah ok these are some pretty interesting ideas 👀 i would be so down to write some of these but alas... my wip list is now taller than johnny on stilts so

also short rant ahead, i just wanted to take this opportunity to express some things 💀

i think the issue with mixing and matching tropes/genres/aus is that it can be time consuming. coming up with something original is hard; i mentioned in a reply way back that it’s hard to be original when a lot of ideas have already been done. originality is, in part, how you write something and how you execute the story, which requires more thorough thought and planning. my fic respice finem was a vampire + crime syndicate memoir-esque story that took me 6 months. at dawn was vampire + crime thriller, and coming up with the plot and then filling in plot holes drove me insane. now i’m writing fight or flight, biopunk + crime syndicate, and i’m at almost 5 months, 50k and i hate it so much i just wANT IT FINISHED.

i enjoy writing longer and more detailed plots (i’m a fucking masochist) but it takes a lot of time, and even after all my hard work on it, i’m not always satisfied with the end result. another thing is reception; i don't want to sound like that bitch who complains about engagement, but writers who write more niche story ideas obviously don't get as much engagement as an nct dream 5k pwp fic. i personally don't care much for numbers, and just want to write hot vampires (yuta 🥵🥵 much sexy mhm) for myself, but i'm sure there are people who feel discouraged and deterred from writing what they want because of the audience.

as for the ideas you mentioned, i can get behind a lot of them and love writing for them! crime, thriller and mystery are some of my go tos. some others i'm maybe less comfortable writing because they're more rooted in romance, and i don't know how to write pure romance to save my life. i have some more commentary/qualms for some of these tropes, but won't include any more unsolicited opinions here lmao.

I tell you, I was on the edge from the start before reading anything. I have to say I kinda knew Alpha was involved w "The Incident" but when I read "Little One" I gasped, dropped my phone, my mumma looked at me all kinds of weird 😅

Everything escalated so quickly istg. And I take back what I said about Jimin. He's a sadistic little psycho, like a cat that plays with its food. I wanna know what bizzare power he holds over Taehyung and is this what they were thinking of for JK?

Min Yoongi. Min Yoongi has some 'splaining to do. He seems so world weary and I am still left wanting to know more about him. I want to ask when's the explanation coming queen, but I don't makes demands of or rush an artist... So consider this a polite request? Maybe? Or ignore it completely, that's fine too 🤣

Ok but let's get to the real tea hunty.

This whole ending was so intense, my mind is racing. So many questions I know you can't answer but imma voice anyways:

• How is Taehyung controlled?

• What does all this mean for JK now that the culprits of "The Incident" have been revealed?

• WHO RETURNED JK AND OC?? WAS IS TAE OR YOONGLES? IS THERE SOMEONE ELSE? (In the unlikely event I ever meet Min Yoongi, I will for sure accidentally call him Yoongles and make a tit of myself 🥲🙃)

• Who has come to OCs rescue?

• Is it a rescue?

• If its the Sanguis lads with a healed JK is JK walking into a trap?

• Why did Tae eat in front of OC knowing it would make her uncomfortable?

• How long is OC gonna last as a fragile human?
