Noah is canonically the youngest of eight sibling. Eight.

You don't grow up in a family that large, as the youngest and therefore the favourite victim, and not have a super casual relationship with touch.

This guy is light enough to be literally blown away by a strong breeze; if you think even for a second that his family didn't take turns carrying him around like a briefcase and abducting him from whatever he was doing into a Family Pile™ then you're objectively wrong.

(You also can't convince me that he wasn't spoiled rotten as the baby of the family.)

So frequent platonic touching is pretty normal for him, expected even, and he tends to be more tactile than his personality or demeanour would suggest.

He gives Owen side-hugs and pats on the arm every time the two interact, and wilfully flops himself onto Eva whenever he's overwhelmed and wants the company of someone comparatively quiet (she always uses it as an excuse to carry him to the gym and encourage him to bulk up, though it never works). He tries to tire out Izzy's boundless energy by play-fighting and grappling with her (much to his chagrin) despite him essentially ending up as her glorified chew toy, and often times passes out due to being a stick insect in human form.

It's unexpected, just how casually clingy he is to the people he trusts/likes.

But you know who isn't used to physical contact?

This wet noodle of a boy bigs himself up as a ladies' man and a hot commodity but wouldn't know what to do with himself if someone held his hand. The concept of affection of any kind is so foreign to him, especially positive physical contact- I wouldn't be surprised if he could count the amount of hugs his parents had given him on one hand.

And this is backed by his canonical desperation for acknowledgement! Every time he pursues Gwen, even when he's directly shot down and sometimes harshly rejected, he still tries to win her affections and festers the delusion that she likes him. After all, everyone who's supposed to care about him does the same! His parents, 'friends' or lack thereof, ect.; they all ignore/rebuff him so it must be a sign of endearment.

Additionally, he sleeps with a stuffed emu at the ripe age of 16/17- as stated by Sierra, which he never denies (not that there's anything wrong with that, stuffed animals are top tier imho). You know who else sleeps with stuffed animals? Touch-starved people.

Cody is incredibly attention-starved, touch-starved and, post World Tour, in all likelihood somewhat touch-averse- at least when it comes to other people initiating contact.

To elaborate; Sierra is constantly breaching his personal bubble non-consensually, which would inadvertently condition anyone into being at least a little haphephobic, but Cody himself is more than happy to instigate contact with people he trusts (i.e. hugging Alejandro when he protects Cody from Sierra overnight in Rapa Phooey!).

...See where I'm going with this?

We see these two cuddling twice in canon; once in the Awake-a-thon and again in the Celebrity Manhunt. Once is happenstance, but twice indicates a pattern or coincidence but I'm going to gloss over that for the sake of this post.

Plus, with their consistent proximity during Action, they had plenty of time to form some type of relationship be it friendly or more.

(Wouldn't you want to at the very least get some closure from the guy who kissed you/you kissed for the world to see? It would be awkward to completely ignore each other, and they literally shared a cabin at one point so it's not like they were strangers either. So of course they're at least cordial from Action onwards.)

Then, as Noah becomes more comfortable around Cody, his tactile tendancies come to play.

Cody, predictably, reacts skittishly at the alien phenomenon known as friendly touch and tries to play it off to preserve his cool-guy image. Except Noah's not falling for it. He's observant, if emotionally illiterate, and watching the guy you just backpatted in greeting jump five feet into the air and screech like a falcon is a flashing red alarm for even the most empathetically challenged people.

Eventually, Noah gets Cody to divulge his issues with human contact and offers his assistance to the brunette. If giving his pal a hug every now and then, and letting him in turn initiate whatever he's comfortable with, would help him overcome his rocky relationship with touch then Noah is more than happy to oblige. It's not like it's out of the norm for him, so he doesn't mind at all.

Then, gradually, Cody loses his touch aversion.

But a lifetime of isolation won't be magically cured that easily, and he finds himself craving Noah's embrace more and more. Again, the taller of the two is content to give him what he wants. Their agreement evolves into the duo napping together and feeding into Noah's sleep-hugging habit, or just spending quality time in a heap of pretzeled limbs under a weighted blanket.

(Whether their relationship is platonic or romantic is entirely up to interpretation, though I'm partial to the two being friends who are just Like That since it allows for the funniest potential character interactions. The bromance is real.)

That's as good a place as any to end the post, before I end up writing a whole drabble.

I wonder if Mina herself studied this much to be dropping citations in order to be Up To Date to the newest Science Research out of interest, because this isn't Jonathan's field... Maybe it's like how she saw a watchman say that he can read the change in the weather to predict a storm and she noted that she wants to study meteorology?

Yeah, I don't think that the interest in criminology is/was for Jonathan's sake since he's not an attorney- he's a solicitor. I mean, it wouldn't come in handy either way because it's all phooey (rip Mina), but you know. She always mentions when one of her special interests is in part due to Jonathan (learning short-hand to aid him in his work, aspiring to be a lady journalist because of a friend of his, memorizing train schedules for his convenience). Of course, she explores those interests outside of how they'd apply to Jonathan, but she's always eager to gush about him, so :). She doesn't mention Jonathan when she cites Nordau and Lombroso, nor does she cite him as a reason when she says she wants to study meteorology.

She's really out here dreaming of being a jack of all trades. She's hungry for all the knowledge she can possibly get, which is all the more frustrating when VH constantly undermines her and assumes she can fit no knowledge in her brain other than what she'd need for child-rearing and helping men. She takes it in stride, of course. And she's not particularly self-conscious about her eagerness to explore everything around her because she, of all people, would know that young women can be just as curious and driven as their male counterparts. She's taught them! Meanwhile, VH doesn't have experience teaching women and is surprised that one can be educated and have a will to learn.

Anyhow, Mina is truly a student of life.

Huey, Dewey, Louie and Phooey Duck watch the solar eclipse in Duckburg - My redraw - Ducktales 2017 - Quack Pack Reboot - Happy birthday to them!

I drew for the Solar Eclipse that was in America these days as well as posting for the birthdays of Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck plus Phooey Duck, who usually celebrate on April 15th.

By the way, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon, which is in its youth phase, goes towards the earth's surface and is located between the sun and the earth and covers the sun with its body, and thus a solar eclipse occurs. Astronomy. And they mostly happen in rare moments, but they still cause a great effect in people and for many it can be a turning point, sometimes in the negative, sometimes in the positive, although unfortunately more in the negative. However, many people who are waiting for a solar eclipse look forward to it and wear glasses to protect against it, because the solar eclipse causes a large effect of glare from the Sun. And it all takes a few minutes.

So I drew Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, from Ducktales 2017, but in my version of them as I imagine them, by wearing their own kind of suit, but all wearing jeans and backwards baseball caps together. To make them look more cool, of course. And they're wearing eclipse glasses and enjoying it, and there's their fourth brother Phooey Duck, who I drew in a mix between the Ducktales reboot version and my version. And behind them is the Money Bin as it looks in Ducktales 2017 and on the side of the drawing I drew some sort of solar eclipse as it looks like. Yes, this is how I imagine them in my Quack Pack reboot version as well, if it was a sequel to Ducktales 2017. Yes, there are real teenagers here, because they act like it. okay but the way that noah and eva were SUCH GREAT CHARACTERS that NEVER DID ANYTHING is so upsetting. I know we all wanted a team e-scope comeback and wt TOTALLY COULD'VE DONE THAT like

and there's definitely possibility for people to get eliminated fairly late in the game, like sweeden sour, rapa phooey and of course double eliminations

first, I'm going to talk about the relations between the members of team e-scope

there could definitely be an expansion on the team e-scope relations. eva and izzy could have a very dynamic friendship- they're both some of the most threatening competitors while also having contrasting personalities. this friendship could've been used in island when they were both returning contestants. eva would recognize that they're both targets because they both skipped challenges and izzy really just went along with anything. she and eva definitely got along and they would be a killer alliance.

if eva made it even like a couple of challenges I think it would be good. just push trent and bridgette back once and move the no pain, no game challenge to after hide and be sneaky. there's the whole trent and heather plot in search & do not destroy, heather, leshawna, and eva could all have immunity in hide & be sneaky which would lead to bridgette's elimination, and then eva loses in no pain, no game. that would give enough time for at least a little use of eva and her rivalries with other characters. ALSO why was izzy in an alliance with heather? put her in with eva cmon. anyways. in hide & be sneaky, the guys could use eva's hate of bridgette to their advantage. anyways I'm going on a tangent here. NEXT

noah and izzy had at least some sort of thing going on since haute camp-ture. izzy with the 'throwing some shrimp on the barbie, that means you noah!' and the whole 'he kissed a guy!' thing definitely leads you to believe that at least izzy thinks they're friends, even if she just annoys noah. then in world tour, while he spent most the time calling her a nutcase, she carried him around a lot it wasn't like he hated her, he just didn't want owen dating her because she didn't treat him right.

noah and eva are a good team-up. noah's the brains and eva's the brawn, that's alliance material. they know each others strengths and neither really have friends. well, noah has owen but that's basically it. and owen isn't the most strategic person in the game. and both have a lot of enemies.

I'm going to talk about potential of the characters as if eva was in world tour and on team chris because that would make sense with canon

I feel like eva could be used so well. She didn't like being famous, so she was all in it for the money. She was straightforward. She was not playing any games. SHE WANTED THAT MONEY. I think Alejandro would see her as useful and keep her around, but he knows he has to get rid of her before the merge. Plus, she's so great for an antagonist. She has a lot of drive and could have a rivalry with literally anyone. She could have beef with tyler I mean realistically. he was a killer bass. also, I feel like she could have an alliance with alejandro. she doesn't seem like someone exactly all for alliances, but she understands a deal when she sees one- alejandro is a powerful competitor and she knows it. betrayal later could be AMAZING and I'll get to a point with that in a minute

and we all know the noah story, we've heard it a million times but it's true, he's a great character. He has a rivalry with alejandro, was labeled 'the schemer' or whatever even though he did nothing, he's really smart like they could have used that. he also had a lot of rivalries with people that were just not used. he didn't like alejandro, he didn't like sierra, he didn't like duncan, and he definitely had potential for relationships (positive or negative) with other contestants. he could still be eliminated at the same time, but at least let him do something.

okay. so I know we all love blaineley. well I actually don't really but we all love blainerific. HOWEVER. HER ASS DID NOTHING. I would bring back either eva or noah. eva, if having that alliance with alejandro, would be mad as hell. and post-merge, she could interact with members of team amazon. noah also is against alejandro and has a lot of potential for relations with other competitors. then I would have them last a little longer than blaineley did so they ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING anyways that's my little rant about eva and noah

wada sez: To my knowledge, this strip is set after Escalation #6, in which Ratchet, Jimmy Pink and Verity Carlo narrowly escaped a booby-trapped building, only for Ironhide to be caught in the blast. They “tripped” the trap by picking up a Machination business card back in Escalation #4. The strip’s title is presumably taken from the famous track sung by Louis Armstrong, for whatever reason. Funnily enough, Tim Shinn applied his usual treatment to this comic, but got a bit overzealous with the composition, copying the artwork to create additional panels to better fill what he perceived as excessive negative space—our Gherkin also points out that he added a “Fan-riffic” in the first bubble, a reference to Hong Kong Phooey, another big voice role for Jazz’s original voice actor Scatman Crothers. The team went with the unaltered version, which lacks many of his lighting effects. I've included the alternate version below the break.

Ducktales 2017 timeline: ranting

One tiny thing that is icking me about Ducktales is that there is rarely any clear dates, or seasons for how much time passesor when the episodes happen. Like, obviously most episodes do not happen directly after the previous one unless they are double episodes like the season finales the first two episodes or the darkwing duck episodes in S3.

In addition to that exact topic, I'm gonna have to say that by logic, the spear of Selene incident , at the point of S2 when Della came back, should have been 11 instead of 10 years.

While (again) not entirely clear in what season the show even starts, it's summer for most people, which also makes sense with the trees being green and everything, so either summer or late spring

The first episode obviously also didn't play on the exact day of Della dissapearing for 10 years, cause by simple logic that would've been made clear. So yeah, still closer to 10 years but as in someone saying they are 10 years old and not "10 years and so many months"

We have the whole christmas time travel episode (that I just rewatched which made me write this post) in S2 with Dewey meeting young Donald and Della. This now tells us, Donald and the triplets have been living with Scrooge for at least half a year.

After that we're back to the generic cartoon spring/summer season

Ergo: The showmakers were to lazy to properly think of the fact that time INDEED DOES PASSES, also in a cartoon. Not to forget that this could've given us:

A triplet birthday episode in S1 or S2

An episode on the date of the spear of Selene incident with everyone like "ah phooey, now it's been 11 years already" with possible bonding between Donald and Scrooge

A GOOD TIMELINE I COULD REFERENCE IN MY HEAD FOR ANYBODYS SAKE

Yes. I know this is a kids show. Not to forget a kids show from Disney, but I'm always happier when I know how much time passes between events in shows or movies. It gives my brain satisfaction. This is also often (not always) a reason for me disliking episodically structured shows.

5. Favorite band. (Get that extra u outta here, hack phooey!)

Oh, Crane Wives by far. I'm not the type of person to find an artist I like and proceed to listen to every single one of their songs, but just a few days ago I listened to "Canary In A Coal Mine" and it gave me the same joy every one of their songs gives me the first time I hear it, and I think I've only ran into one of their songs I don't like, but I can't really remember the name of it. Still, I literally tell at least 3 people I love the Crane Wives a week, usually my parents in car rides since I have full aux control, and then one of my school friends usually has to bear me repeating "I love Crane wives" in between singing lyrics for an hour - Crane Wives is SO FUN TO SING WITH IT HAS ALL THESE UPS AND DOWNS AND ITS JUST WONDERFUL, and it's also mostly in my range, though there are a few songs where I just can't reach a lower note or a higher note and accidentally switch to a different octave to hit it [I've been trying really hard to unlearn automatically switching octaves but like. At least it tells me I have a good ear since I'm definitely hitting the same note, just on like the G major instead of D Major idk man I flunked out of violin]

but if you asked my Spotify, they keep consistently telling me my favorite artist is cavetown [3/3 years that I've used Spotify,,,], and I also obviously enjoy people that are a bit more mainstream like The Living Tombstone and Sparkbird [kind of] and Rio Romeo and all of that.

But I do gotta say that while Chase Petra isn't a band, they are my favorite singer. I heard their Pacific song on tiktok before it got released on Spotify and fell in love, and they recently did a acoustic cover of it which is wonderful. I also like fuck I forgot the name it has vs. Nature in the name of it and something that's named autumn windfall?? Somewhere around there??

yeah! that is what i was referring to in this post. as i'm watching playthroughs to make MA content for STG, i found this scene so off-putting and it reminded me of a lot of other ones i've seen in comics. & feeling just the general vibe reading a comic that i am never gonna get to see fat people be heroic. especially not at least, without emphasizing that they're a fat person sure, but they are still heroic, don't worry!

but yes blossoms' point here abt tony and perception of self and internalizing a lot of judgement values about his appearance and how fun it is to explore that are so apt!

blossoms always handles tony's relationship with his own body in such compelling and intricate ways that are very tender and vulnerable. and i agree! i also like exploring these themes and playing with how tony relates to being a public figure, as well as how he relates to himself and the ways in which he feels pleasure or contentment or beauty or pride.

to blossoms+anons second point, abt nat knowing, yeah. if you read it just in-text, it can be really complicated by their own individual and combined relationships to trauma and processing and how much info they are sharing between them. that's always very interesting to eke out of interactions w the two of them -- two people who can guard their hearts and heads so intensely.

but taking a meta-textual approach to it, i flat out think when people ascribe their own -isms to characters, they are not thinking about how it fits a character's personality or interpersonal relationships.

we, as the fans, do the labor of asking how it can be internally consistent for a character that grew up without bodily autonomy, that knows intimately how loss and trauma affect your bodily functions, who knows exactly how tony fights and what it takes to do that, who knows that bodies are only one tool in a whole box -- makes fun of someone who trusts her, on her team, for potentially gaining weight. we hypothesis and convolute the relationship and infer from the absences of a canon text. the writers don't have to do any of that work. and that more than anything generally proves to me how shoehorned in all the -isms people apply to characters are.

they're not thinking three levels deep. and to be honest, i like our collective 3 level thoughts better than there, so ! phooey on them!! they don't get a seat at our table.

it literally doesn't matter what your body looks like if you're designing a metal suit to go around it that is based on non-physical input to function. and tony's found family should abso-fucking-lutely not be (even jokingly) shaming him for disordered eating and suicidal ideation, esp not during a battle lol. but yes, tony should have a hunch and neck problems and whine and use a heating pad and tiger balm too much <3 beloved greasemonkey sun.

random ducktales headcanons in no particular order

you know how some kids make up imaginary friends to blame for their mistakes? that's how phooey was born.

the triplets realize very young that trying to pin the blame on each other will only result in all of them getting grounded, so. it's so sad their secret fourth brother will explode if anyone else besides them looks at him which is why uncle donald can never see them :punch: :pensive: (<- that was dewey's idea ofc)

board games are a relatively easy way to entertain kids and pass the time for free, so donald ended up buying a lot from secondhand stores and garage sales.

huey loves strategy games. he has a junior woodchuck badge in chess playing! when he moves into the mansion he's excited to find similar games like go and shogi (also he's just, really happy to finally have someone give him a run for his money in chess)

dewey likes charades, but only when he's the one acting. he also likes pit! (that's a card game where you have to yell a lot XD)

louie's favorite game is candyland, although that usually turns into "try to catch louie switching out the cards" than actual playing. louie swears up and down that he'd never cheat and it's not his fault dewey never won.

webby's favorite game is something totally obscure you've never heard of. she's also a fan of cluedo :). (it takes like, a week for the kids to realize clue and cluedo are the same thing)

all the kids are trans (source: dude trust me)

donald sitting down at the parent-teacher conference and looking at the list of adhd symptoms the teacher handed him: wdym, these are all normal kid things? i mean, my sister was like this.

(cut to ten years later) della: wow dewey really takes after his mom doesn't he ^_^

donald: haha. hahaha. ha. about that.

SPEAKING OF PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES. donald is a pta mom you can't convince me otherwise. one day he's going to show helen what real homemade brownies taste like. as soon as he doesn't burn them.

louie knows how to pickpocket and is fairly good at it, he just doesn't because the first time he got caught donald looked so upset and he doesn't wanna relive that again.

high school dewey tries to force himself into dating bc he thinks that's a requirement to being a "cool, beloved, popular teen" (it is according to the movies!) Anyways he quickly realizes he's miserable and would rather walk across glass shards than kiss anyone. (then he learns about aromanticism and asexuality.)

huey used to have pretty bad meltdowns on an almost regular basis, until donald signed the boys up for jr woodchucks in kindergarten (mostly just to get them out of the house for a while) and something Clicked. finally, structure! routine! a book of set rules and expectations! (it's not like he magically stopped having meltdowns overnight but it helped him feel less overwhelmed, yk?)

Why YOU should vote for Heatherra in the yuri brackets (Part 1.)

You'll get the rest as Heatherra advances ^_^

For now, I'm starting all off small. We're going to start with my favorite epsiode of World Tour: Rapa Fruity (Phooey!)

First of all, you're going to tell me that Heather and Sierra shared economy class for about 48 hours? Something definitely went down between them. You cannot tell me otherwise. That is 48 long hours of them having to deal with each other.

Anyway, the epsiode starts with a great moment right off the bat. The Heatherra therapy session. Ignoring what the session is actually about, we get 1 of two great moments.

Afterwards, we get the best part of the entire season for yuri fans: Heather calling Sierra her girlfriend.

"Boyfriends come and go, but girlfriends are forever."

Heather I hope you know that you don't normally say this to people. I definitely don't go around calling my friends my girlfriends, telling them that we're forever. But Heather said that her best strategy was to make up with Sierra, and her mind goes to calling Sierra her girlfriend? Yeah that's fruity asf.

Next, Sierra offers to help Heather with the first half of the challenge, which then leads them to working together as they go through the cave. Sierra, a known basket weaver, goes to offer her services to Heather, with the following quote, "Girlfriends stick together right?"

Btw this IS Heather's reaction after hearing Sierra call Heather her girlfriend. Fruity as hell. Toxic yuri for the win. No one reacts like this Heather, except for you.

Anyway, following this scene, we get one of my favorite confessional.

"Sierra? Trying desperately and transparently to work me? Awesome!"

HEATHER. OKAY HEATHER. Heather you have the biggest crush on Sierra I've ever seen. The fact that Heather's strategy for this epsiode was to call Sierra her girlfriend and IT WORKED? Yeah they both have big fat crushes on each other.

Anyway, cave scene.

Yuri. Thank you Chef for pushing rocks down the cave.

OKAY real reason now. The Sierra strategy scene.

"That was surprising... sane of you."

The plan? To vote out Alejandro. Of course they want to vote out Alejandro. He's so anti yuri. We want him OUT OF HERE! Let's ignore how the epsiode ended btw death to canon and all
